Kecia Reynolds: Dr. Luckie is great! I highly recommend her. The assistant was also good. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because neither the receptionist nor the glasses person in the lobby said hello when I walked in and either was helping anyone.

Amanda Blake: The absolute best choice for dry eye! I had been suffering for years, and now my eyes are drastically better after only three months of proper treatment. Dr. Abraham is excellent. He explains things very clearly and listens to concerns with compassion. I really appreciate his help and cannot recommend Washington Eye Doctors highly enough, especially for dry eye patients.
Karen Moe: Dr Rosenblatt has been my eye doctor for many years and worked with me to get my proper correction for nearsightedness. My extra-sensitive system was previously over-corrected and his prescriptions enabled my vision to be more relaxed and stabilize. The glasses are high quality and good fit. I’m especially fond of the nearly weightless frames and lenses.
Jacques Moore: I’ve been a customer and patient at Washington Eye Doctors for about a year and a half. Overall it’s been great. The front desk staff are pleasant. Dr. Rosen later is knowledgeable, kind and takes time to answer questions and explain things in layman’s terms. I think perhaps one of their frame and lens specialists might need more training on listening to the customer and clearly understanding my needs before recommending something that doesn’t work (i.e. fit me properly). But the other two I’ve worked with have been excellent.

Randy Capps: I have been with Washington Eye Doctors for 50 years since the Katz/Kanstroom days. They guided me through bifocals as a kid, contacts as an adolescent and Lasik as an adult. 25 years after Lasik I still have near perfect vision. I just went back for night driving glasses. Always quick, efficient and thorough consistently over the decades.
Qundeel Khattak: Dr. Friedman is the best! I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now. The staff are friendly and attentive. Sean was very patient in helping me find the perfect pair of glasses! Dean Remedios: I went here after moving to the area and needing a new eye doctor. I found this place because it had some great reviews and decided to give it a try. This is by far the best experience I have had at an eye doctor before. Nick at the front desk was so friendly in checking me in, took a lot of time to help me pick out glasses frames, and took the time to explain to me line by line what my insurance covered and how to best utilize my benefits. Dr. Raja was so friendly and professional during my eye exam, she took the time to answer all of my questions and really took the time to give me a throughout exam that was also very time efficient. Overall this was a very pleasant experience and I will certainly be coming back here as long as I live in the area.

Mimi M.: I arrived at the office on 9/1/2021. There is underground parking nearby. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nice receptionist who assisted with my check-in. I was delighted to see that my wait time was minimal before I was called to be seen. Dr. Lobaugh is everything you want in an eye doctor. He was timely, pleasant and explained the tests/results clearly. I would recommend this provider.

After MUCH trepidation about using/wearing contact lenses, Ryen was able to coax this non-believer that wearing contacts is as easy as riding a bike (well, almost:)). Not only did she help me find a method for inserting the lenses, but she also made me a pro at getting them out! Thank you for your teaching skills and remarkable patience! Ryen isn’t just a pleasant face to see at a visit; she’s also the contact guru.

Anne Henderson: I have had two procedures by the great doctors at Washington Eye. My cataracts were removed and my eyelids lifted to restore my peripheral vision. Both procedures went well, with no complications and quick healing. Dr. Marwa Adi and Dr. Mehta were both superb. I recommend them highly and without reservation.

David L. Craig: After cataract surgery in my left eye by another practice, they referred me to Dr. Adi following a Fuchs Dystrophy diagnosis. Thus far as a patient of Dr. Adi I have experienced a corneal transplant in my left eye four months ago, then cataract surgery in the right eye a week ago, plus in-office laser and eye rebubbling procedures, as well as a second rebubbling procedure at the surgery center. To date I am exceptionally pleased with the competence and demeanor of everyone involved and highly recommend this practice.
Richard Schiripa: I had an eye exam for cataracts. The doctor and all the technicians were excellent. Everyone was very professional and courteous. Everything was explained in detail and they answered all my questions. I plan to go back to have my cataract surgery.

R Williams: I just picked up my glasses yesterday and the invisible bifocal is the new type. I think the doctor called them digital. They are great. I can see so much improvement in my vision. J Fehrenbach: I have had great experiences with Dr. Luthra. He is thorough, approachable, professional, and explains things cogently. I am especially satisfied with his cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The surgical procedures and the results have been excellent. Based on the information he provided, I decided to go with the multi-focal lenses, which was a wise decision.
Susan Rodgers: Dr. Luthra performed my cataract surgeries last August and October. I had the basic lenses covered by Medicare, and was so excited about my 20/10 vision after healing. I have the upmost faith in Dr. Luthra, and especially enjoy his quirky sense of humor. The surgery clinic he uses is top notch.
Fallon O'Brien: I made an emergency last-minute appointment at Columbia Eye Associates last year, for (what I would find out to be) a corneal ulcer. While I was very nervous and uneducated on the issue, Dr. Luthra took quick action on an aggressive treatment plan and made me feel at ease. He provides excellent care and takes his patients’ health very seriously. He does not sugar coat things and provides his patients’ with thorough information. He saw me every single day for a week, and multiple times per week for months after that, and gave me his cell phone in case of emergency. Fast forward 13 months and I have 20/20 vision and no ulcer, thanks to Dr. Luthra. He performed epi-LASIK surgery on me in March and I could not be happier. If you are in the Washington, D.C. area and need an ophthalmologist, Columbia Eye Associates is where you need to go.

Samina: Dr. Yin is an amazing physician and has excellent bed side manner. She answered all my questions and is very personable and kind. Shashi G: I’ve been seeing (literally) Dr. Chu for over 25 years now. After wearing glasses for many decades, Dr. Chu’s office provided a wonderful selection of frames and many name brands as well. The state-of-the art equipment is very impressive, and the entire team of office staff is very helpful. His office runs smoothly and never have to wait more than 5-10 mins. My cataract surgery last year was very reassuring and comforting experience. I still see perfect 20/20. Noreen Warren: I selected this practice after researching ophthalmologists on the internet. I had recently moved to Maryland and finding good quality medical care was both a priority and a concern. Dr. Chu has exceeded my expectations. This practice is well run and Dr. Chu is a skilled and compassionate physician. I found the office to be conveniently located and well run with plenty of parking and virtually no wait time upon arrival for appointments. I had cataracts and at the same time I found I was unable to continue detailed needlework, Dr. Chu began to discuss them with me at my regular checkup. He patiently explained and described my problem and options for treatment. I decided to proceed with surgical removal of the cataracts. Dr. Chu discussed the surgery with me until I felt very comfortable with the entire process. He provided pamphlets and carefully designed documents as well as plenty of opportunity to ask questions and air my concerns. I could not have been better prepared. The surgery went without a hitch. My vision is very clear, much better than I expected. I am thrilled with the experience and the results. I highly recommend this practice for your eye care.
Rock Marquis: Before I set out for my cataract surgery of both eyes, I did my due diligence regarding the maturity of the technology, choice of lens, but most importantly, choice of eye surgeon. After all, it is my eyesight that I will live for the rest of my life. During the process, I came across two of my friends who had recently gone through cataract surgery, and both of them where patients of Dr. Chu, and both of them highly recommend Dr. Chu as they had nothing but total success. I took their recommendation and as the saying goes, the rest is history. I am so happy with Dr. Chu, from the initial consultation that was transparent, to the processes that was so smooth, but most importantly, the end results that are just flawless with zero complication. I would highly recommend Dr. Chu and the staff of the Washington Eye Consultants!

Fleur Gedamke: I am continually impressed with all the staff at the WEI. I am always treated with respect and am given the most thorough tests, advice and overall care. The young staff that do the tests are stellar and polite and my Doctor is so informative. I had lens replacement surgery and am always going back for check-ups - and I am always pleased with their service. They are patient and really listen to your concerns. It is clean and efficient.

The vision testing was done with the latest technology so it was less invasive than the older methods. The test for glasses prescription was done by the doctor, not a tech. Julie Porter: I have seen Dr Ayalew for many years. She is a great professional as well as a warm and caring person. I highly recommend her and the office team for treating their clients very well. Metropolitan Optical is expensive but I go back because I trust Dr. Ayalew and enjoy chatting with her whenever I have an eye exam.

Camille Kirsch: So glad I decided to try Metropolitan Optical! Dr. Stupiansky was warm and thorough. I appreciated her willingness to explain everything to me. She also recommended a new brand of contacts that was affordable but more comfortable than my previous brand. Her staff were friendly, helpful, and great at navigating my insurance. Plus, they recommended some very cute glasses!

Jim Jackson: Excellent Staff with a superior COVID centric process in place! This was such a satisfying experience. They stayed in touch with me via Text Messages on all that we needed to coordinate prior to my visit. Once I was there, all I needed to do was send them a text that I was at their location. Someone immediately let me in facility where I was asked to stand at a designated social distance designated spot. They informed me of every process in for form of sanitation that was being done specific for the prep of my appointment (I saw this being done). My doctor was AMAZING. She was pleasant, professional and very informative on the current status of my exam diagnosis. the eye class technician was professional and helpful throughout the process in getting my eye glasses updated and the prescription filled for me. I would strongly recommended anyone in the DC area to take advantage of what Metropolitan Optical provides in service and quality.

James Sumner: I have had a great experience with Dr. Bilal Khan. I was in need of a retinal specialist a few years back when I first met Dr. Khan. I found him to be very knowledgeable, kind, caring, and compassionate. Back at that time, he was heaven sent to me! I always say that "He Is One Of The Best In The City." I continue to see him today. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Shenna Johnson: I visited Howard’s Opthalmology office because of a chemical exposure to my eye. I was a walk-in patient, and spent about 3 hours of my time there. I thought that the Physician, Dr. Richard, was competent and very knowledgeable. Overall, I am happy with my visit and would recommend.

Khadija Jones: I love Dr. Nancy Ross and her team! Check in was smooth and Dr. Ross explained every step of the eye exam to me. She made me feel comfortable about my eyes. Dr. Ross also gave me ergonomic tips (desk chair height, computer height, and looking away ever so often) to help my eyes since I work on a computer all day! As long as Dr. Ross is at this location, she will have my business. I highly recommend Dr. Ross to anyone looking for any type of eye exam! A truly pleasurable experience.

Mason Dixon: I have been a patient here for a number of years and was just back for my yearly exam. I really appreciate the care the team takes in providing a thorough eye exam and taking into consideration family history, past exams, and my current needs. Dr. Foley is really good at explaining the conditions of the eye, possible treatment approaches, and potential complications. I really value his expertise and experience. They also have a pretty good selection of frames in the shop and provided helpful advice in choosing one to fit my face.
Dana Lange: Updated review as of 1/15/22: The office manager, Dana, called me after I shared my review below to apologize and explain the technical issues that led to the challenges I was experiencing making an appointment. She then proceeded to offer me an appointment for this weekend and gave me a discount on my exam. The service I received this morning from Dana and Dr. Fraire was prompt, efficient and informative. I appreciate them going above and beyond to make things right and will continue to get my eye services here! Thank you! Original review: Just a heads up - this place might be closed. I’m a returning patient and have been trying to make an appointment for a week now. No response to email, and the phone number is out of service. Would be nice if they at least updated their website so I know why I’m not getting any response…
Ian Lever: I had a great experience here, having to get an eye exam and glasses after failing my eye exam at the DMV. Dr. Martin was thorough and professional, helping me navigate needing glasses for the first time. Tan was also great and very patient in advising which glasses were best. Would definitely recommend.

I did not give 5 stars b/c upon check out the front office charged for the annual visit as well as a contacts evaluation fee, the latter being something I had not requested during my appointment, and is something that has not been tacked on in my prior optometrist visits elsewhere.

Annette Johnson: If you’re looking for a comfortable place to go with faces that look like yours this is the place to be! I immediately felt at ease by the diversity when I walked in the office. No question was a dumb question, and I was straight forward about wanting a deal with some quality and Mike immediately put me at ease. He broke it down for me and made it quick and painless. As far as the eye exam again I felt comfortable to ask all the question I needed to Dr. Neigel, and I felt heard. Will definitely be back for contacts next!

The doctors are very knowledgeable and their procedures and software are very detailed. I have bought two different eyeglass prescriptions from them and they take the time to work with you to fine the best I wear. They do not pressure you and work with you to find the best style and brand for your particular need. I chose this Eye doctor because they are only two blocks from where I work in downtown Washington DC but I would certainly drive an hour One way from my home to keep them as my eye doctor.
