Eye Doctors of Washington: what do users think?

Ms Ma: Second visit, since my long-time ophthalmologist retired. My primary care physician highly recommended Dr. Jacobson. He, and his assistant Christopher, give thorough exams, and detailed explanations. Don't hesitate to make an appointment.

Michael Orenstein: Through my visits with Dr. Jacobson I feel confident in saying he is a caring practitioner, one who actually listens to patient concerns and symptoms, develops a game plan, and then carefully explains the testing and his diagnosis and treatment options. He also welcomes your questions if his answers get a little blurry (pun intended). And just today, he wasn't quite happy with an image of a muscle(??) around the eye, so he took additional time with me for a re-shoot. I would hope ALL doctors operate this way.

Kecia Reynolds: Dr. Luckie is great! I highly recommend her. The assistant was also good. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because neither the receptionist nor the glasses person in the lobby said hello when I walked in and either was helping anyone.

Amin Shaheen: One of my most time efficient visits to Dr. Jacobson. He is very thorough and has a great bedside manner. His staff was very friendly, courteous and professional! Keep it up guys!

Chris O'Flinn: Dr. Jacobson is the most thorough ophthalmologist I've ever seen. He inspires confidence. The office is very well equipped and well run by pleasant people.

Mark Jacobson: Dr. Howard Jacobson has been my ophthalmologist for at least 20 years. He is extraordinarily thorough, professional and conservative in his examinations, treatments, and recommendations. I have never hesitated to accept and follow his advice. Definitely a "top doc" in his field.

Nick S: I totally trust my eyes to Dr Jacobsen and his staff. They are knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and great in emergencies as well as routine checkups. The best.

tamika sujuane: Dr. Luckie was very attentive and informative, answering all of my questions and adressing my concerns in detail with patience and grace! I consider myself lucky to have found such a wonderful, insightful and caring ophthalmologist!

sophie DiBIase: specially asked if i could be fitted for contact lenses when making my appointment over the phone was told yes and then came in and was told i would have to make another appointment to see a different doctor to get fitted for lenses completely ridiculous to not be fitted for contacts when getting an eye exam. really disappointing. super frustrating to have to make another appointment when i was told over the phone that would not be an issue. EDOW is bad.

Allyson Terry: Dr.Jacobson is the best eye doctor I have ever been to. He is thorough. Takes his time. Nobody better.

Washington Eye Doctors - Downtown, DC: what do users think?

Jim Liu: I visited Washington Eye Doctors for my dry eyes. Dr. Rosenblatt is awesome, he is very respectful and professional. Zero pressure when you talk to him. After the treatments, I feel absolutely better. Eye dryness is painful, and someone says it's more like a disability than a disorder. I can't agree more. Before I get the treatments, I can't even sit down and type these words for like 15 mins. Now I am not 100% recovered but at least I could work and study like a normal person. I am still using prescribed medications and I am confident that this problem is treatable. If you have dry eyes, try to contact Dr. Roosenblatt is the best advice I could give.
Response: Dear Jim, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See." and how they see. Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Amanda Blake: The absolute best choice for dry eye! I had been suffering for years, and now my eyes are drastically better after only three months of proper treatment. Dr. Abraham is excellent. He explains things very clearly and listens to concerns with compassion. I really appreciate his help and cannot recommend Washington Eye Doctors highly enough, especially for dry eye patients.
Response: Dear Amanda, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See.". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Karen Moe: Dr Rosenblatt has been my eye doctor for many years and worked with me to get my proper correction for nearsightedness. My extra-sensitive system was previously over-corrected and his prescriptions enabled my vision to be more relaxed and stabilize. The glasses are high quality and good fit. I’m especially fond of the nearly weightless frames and lenses.
Response: Dear Karen, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See.". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Jacques Moore: I’ve been a customer and patient at Washington Eye Doctors for about a year and a half. Overall it’s been great. The front desk staff are pleasant. Dr. Rosen later is knowledgeable, kind and takes time to answer questions and explain things in layman’s terms. I think perhaps one of their frame and lens specialists might need more training on listening to the customer and clearly understanding my needs before recommending something that doesn’t work (i.e. fit me properly). But the other two I’ve worked with have been excellent.

Janet Davis: I have been a patient of Dr. Michael P. Rosenblatt's for 12+ years. The staff has always been professional, polite, accommodating, and pleasant to be around. Dr. Rosenblatt is knowledgeable, friendly, and reliable. I have never had an issue and have recommended at least 5 friends to them. Within the last 4 years I had to change insurance companies which meant that I had to change eye doctors. Even with a long absence upon my return I was treated like family. Although I only visit for contact lenses he is still my favorite eye doctor in the city and I will continue to recommend the Washington Eye Doctors.
Response: Dear Janet, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Mary Wood: As always, staff is wonderful and welcoming. Dr. Rosenblatt always takes a lot of time to be sure my contacts fit. And he has been helpful with my dry eye problem. I've been coming to Dr. Rosenblatt for 20 years and I have always had really good experiences.
Response: Dear Mary, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Barbara Graham: I Love Dr Rosenblatt I been a patient for over 20 years he is the best I was in his office on yesterday He is treating me for dry eyes I can tell a difference in one day my eyes feel so much better . When I get new eyeglasses I do not need time to adjust to the new glasses because he did a great job . And the staff is very friendly and very helpful. The office and the bathroom is very clean . I give Dr rosenblatt and his staff five star for doing a Great job and what they do taking care of my eyes Barbara G
Response: Dear Barbara, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Randy Capps: I have been with Washington Eye Doctors for 50 years since the Katz/Kanstroom days. They guided me through bifocals as a kid, contacts as an adolescent and Lasik as an adult. 25 years after Lasik I still have near perfect vision. I just went back for night driving glasses. Always quick, efficient and thorough consistently over the decades.
Response: Dear Randy, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See.". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Robin Kibuka: Dr. Michael Rosenblatt has been my eyecare provider for over 20 years and I have received consistetly excellent service from him. He is very knowledgeable and follows up closely on all my eye health issues including through his office's optical services. It is very easy to make appointments with his excellent staff.
Response: Dear Robin, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See.". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Qundeel Khattak: Dr. Friedman is the best! I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now. The staff are friendly and attentive. Sean was very patient in helping me find the perfect pair of glasses! I have a rather strong prescription and Dr. Friedman has worked with me to try various contacts lenses - from custom soft to hybrid. Highly recommend!!
Response: Dear Qundeel, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Washington Eye Associates: what do users think?

Evan Long: Big fan of Dr. Lamothe. Smoothly run practice, courteous staff and a nice office, and he acts like an owner (since he is). I also appreciated their attention to helping me optimize my care for my vision benefits.

Analisa: Dr. Lamothe is the best eye doctor I have ever had. He really cares about your overall heath and how it relates to your vision. His staff is also great. Love the office environment and great location just a block away from Metro.

Trace Main: Dr. Lamothe is simply the most professional eye doctor I've had over the past 20 years seeing a different doctor almost every year. I've visited him twice now. He's polite, professional, informative, and sensitive to the unique needs I've had during both visits. He gives you the feeling that he truly values your concerns and provides expert consultation in return.

Sarah OMalley: Dr. Lamothe is a great eye doctor, and I recommend him to anyone! He is friendly and professional and explains everything thoroughly during and after check-ups. His office is also taking great care during the pandemic to ensure the health and safety of their staff and customers. I cannot day enough positive things about the practice!

L B: Dr. Lamothe is absolutely fantastic! It is my third time seeing him and each time he makes sure that you feel comfortable with your prescription and takes the time to answer any questions.

Amanda Parker (ArtistAParker): Dr. Lamoth always gets my prescription right and has kept me seeing well in both my glasses and contacts for over five years. His office is always clean and staff is always courteous. Washington Eye Associates has a nice range of frames to choose from and the staff helped me pick the best one for my face. I recommend him so so much!

Dean Remedios: I went here after moving to the area and needing a new eye doctor. I found this place because it had some great reviews and decided to give it a try. This is by far the best experience I have had at an eye doctor before. Nick at the front desk was so friendly in checking me in, took a lot of time to help me pick out glasses frames, and took the time to explain to me line by line what my insurance covered and how to best utilize my benefits. Dr. Raja was so friendly and professional during my eye exam, she took the time to answer all of my questions and really took the time to give me a throughout exam that was also very time efficient. Overall this was a very pleasant experience and I will certainly be coming back here as long as I live in the area.

Mehdi Bb: Dr Lamothe takes great care of his patients . He listens well and is very good at spotting issues related to contact lens wear or any other potential health issues. he is always available to answers any concerns and goes well beyond the call of duty in ensuring my vision and eye comfort are optimal. Furthe,r ordering contact lenses is always a quick and easy process and the follow up is consistently excellent.

Joseph Mathias: Washington Eye Associates is a great provider of optometry services! The staff are very friendly and competent. Dr. Lamothe is friendly, smart, professional, and efficient! An AMAZING doctor. I've been a patient of his for three years now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about him and his practice. Definitely book an appointment. Great job, guys!

Angelina: Dr. Lamothe and team continue to be one of my favorite medical professionals. His professionalism, bedside manner, and technical skill is unmatched. The office is always quiet, clean, and welcoming. If you’re in the DC area and looking for a great optometrist, check them out!

Dr. Stephen Lobaugh Eye Rx: what do users think?

A S: Dr. Lobaugh seems very good but the office leaves a lot to be desired. You can call and be on hold forever. And the optician side of things - my experience was completely disastrous and it literally took months to get a simple pair of glasses due to many mixups on their part and the lab that makes their glasses. The doctor is good but I would steer clear of the optical section AT ALL COSTS.
Response: Hello. I am sorry that this is the experience you had. This is not the level of service that we strive to provide. Please email alee@eyerx.com. We would love to make this better for you.

Mimi M.: I arrived at the office on 9/1/2021. There is underground parking nearby. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nice receptionist who assisted with my check-in. I was delighted to see that my wait time was minimal before I was called to be seen. Dr. Lobaugh is everything you want in an eye doctor. He was timely, pleasant and explained the tests/results clearly. I would recommend this provider.
Response: Hi Ernestine. We appreciate your feedback and business. We are glad to hear that you had an amazing experience. Thank you for entrusting us with your eye care needs!

Debbie: I felt like I was actually checked out by a real doctor. Received a thorough exam that revealed more than I ever knew about lifelong characteristics about my eyes that no other optometrist ever shared with me. Eye doctor visits are typically just a once a year or every other year event for me.. and that's primarily influenced by what my doctor tells me requires my attention or follow on care. Dr. Lobaugh is exceptional. I wish he could be my primary care physician as well! He took his time with the examination, he asked questions that helped me think more about how my eyes have been behaving (you know the stuff you don't really think about or take notice of), he checked and re-checked certain characteristics of my eyes and offered recommendations that were not forced. I feel like I know more about my eyes and what to continue to monitor than ever before. Optician was also very nice and thorough in assessing how my new lenses should sit. Great group of people.
Response: Hi Debbie, glad you had a great experience. Thanks for the review

Julye Williams: Dr. Lobaugh and his team are great - they are punctual, thorough, and really know what they are doing. They also have great customer service. They explained all of the tests they were running, what they were checking for...overall one of her best eye doctors I've had.

Jim Riley: I have been seeing Dr Teller for my eye condition for around 20 years. He has been unfailingly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I highly recommend his practice.

Wood Privacy: First, they'll schedule you for a "standard" checkup and exam, then once they've got your eyes dilated and you're a little disoriented, dazed, and confused, they'll rapidly start ordering additional "necessary" procedures. Now, granted, these might be necessary, and to their credit, they were thorough, but read on... What I found most appalling, after it was all said and done, is that I was taken - still dialted and disoriented - to the "for-profit" side of the business where they immediately tried to upsell expensive exotic vitamins and eyewear. Don't believe me? Walk into the lobby and you can clearly see the dividing line between the "care" side with the check-in desk and the "profit" side with the eyewear. Which side will you land on after your exam? After their attempt to upsell me, I left the place with a sick feeling in my stomach as if being taken advantage of. But the fun didn't end there: a few weeks later in the mail arrived a $500+ bill! Yay. Happy Thanksgiving! A few calls later I find out that the claims weren't even sent to my insurance provider. Maybe they thought I'd just bend over and pay? Maybe that's what high rollers on K Street normally do? Maybe it was an incompetent clerical error? Maybe that's standard operating procedure? In my personal opinion I left feeling that Eye Rx and Dr. Teller represent all that is wrong with the healthcare system in the US today: it's not about care, it's about profit. Edited on 12/2/2019
Response: Thank you for your review. We are really sorry that your experience wasn’t what you expected. We always do our best to deliver the best medical care possible at the least financial burden to our patients. Please give us a call directly so that we can work out a resolution. Sincerely, Dr. Teller

Kelly Ryan: I have been an EyeRX customer for six years. They are quick, kind, and supportive. Even after I was assigned outside of the U.S. for work, they continued to support my eye care needs. So great!

Ms. Jackson: Per usual, EyeRx gets it right! That said, the best part of my three visits (yes, I was that terrified) is that I can now wear contact lenses, thanks to the tutelage of Ryen. Not only was she an incredible teacher, but her patience with me was greatly appreciated. After MUCH trepidation about using/wearing contact lenses, Ryen was able to coax this non-believer that wearing contacts is as easy as riding a bike (well, almost:)). Not only did she help me find a method for inserting the lenses, but she also made me a pro at getting them out! Thank you for your teaching skills and remarkable patience! Ryen isn’t just a pleasant face to see at a visit; she’s also the contact guru.

Lindsey Hill: I always love going to see Dr Lobaugh and his staff. Everyone is beyond pleasant and accommodating. Everything is very informative and easy from beginning to end.

Taren Russell: Dr. Teller has changed my life! He’s the best eye doctor in DMV area hands down.

Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons: what do users think?

Pat Cinelli: I had sudden vision loss and required surgery. I evaluated several Ophthalmology practices prior to making my selection. At every juncture, from reception to technicians, to nurses, scheduling, and Drs. Martin and Schwartz, it was apparent that this practice is without peers. Each person was more knowledgeable, experienced, thorough, caring, and professional than the other ophthalmology practices I visited. Thanks to Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons, my condition was properly diagnosed and treated. If you are searching for the best eye doctors in the DC region, look no further. Top notch!

David L. Craig: After cataract surgery in my left eye by another practice, they referred me to Dr. Adi following a Fuchs Dystrophy diagnosis. Thus far as a patient of Dr. Adi I have experienced a corneal transplant in my left eye four months ago, then cataract surgery in the right eye a week ago, plus in-office laser and eye rebubbling procedures, as well as a second rebubbling procedure at the surgery center. To date I am exceptionally pleased with the competence and demeanor of everyone involved and highly recommend this practice.

Patricia Mitchell: I made an appointment with Dr. Gorman who was recommended by the Doctor I had been seeing for 40 years.I took the prescriptions to Apex and spent almost $700.00. I picked them up today and all three pair project blurred vision. I would like a recommendation of another Dr. in your practice asap to correct the problem Pleas call or email me. Numbers in my file with you. My apology ,the Dr, wasDawson. She also forgot to include the prisms in the prescriptions. Fortunately Apex caught it and called her. I would like to see someone else in the practice.

Washington Eye Care: what do users think?

True E: The Doctor was actually very pleasant, patient and informative...it's the front desk that will give you despicable customer service and cause you to never come back. Even with having to wait "3 to 6 weeks" which is actually 400 years! for your glasses and struggling with NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE.. had I been met with compassion and honesty by the staff when I called inquiring about my glasses, I would not have had such an awful experience. The doctor needs new staff. I don't think she knows what's going on..I take back anything positive I said about the doctor when I first visited... today I picked my glasses up found out it's not just the front desk ..she had the never to talk about how many times I called which told me we saw me trying to get in contact with her and decided not to reach out..the doctor is actually disgusting I called multiple times and left emails to speak with her regqrding my service and she is just as dismissive as the front desk she doesn't need new staff she needs a new profession. Please choose somewhere else to get your glasses this place is terrible for business. And she only responds to reviews..they have not called me EVEN ONCE! To tell me my glasses were ready.. This review was the only way I knew my glasses were ready..and as I was desperately trying to talK to her about the experience she was so rude and dismissive I almost cried cause I was nicer than I should have been under the circumstances.find another place to get your glasses for your own mental health.

octavia hammond: The worst customer service ever, when I first went I should have known better. They all smirked and said wow because of a high prescription. Very embarrassing. I doubt they even care looking at the comments they are all the same. People lack compassion I hope they change their ways and hold themselves accountable instead of the constant excuses.

Crystal Anderson: Please don’t go here unless you truly have no other place to go they only have one doctor no grace period is offered. They call and rush you to your appointment the day of. As if they didn’t call the days before to confirm. Get there and still have to wait. Unpleasant staff

Latoya Corum: The worst ever and messy. The first time I got my glasses they told me I gotta wait 6-8 weeks..it was pass 8 weeks I called they claimed there was a delay and they aren’t ready, then called me later on to tell me they’re ready. 2 days ago my glasses were stolen I called them yesterday spoke to them twice they asked for name and date of birth then they told me I can come in to get fitted for a replacement pair of glasses because they don’t sell my frame I used to have but will have to wait another 6-8 weeks for them. I asked them can I just get the prescription because I can’t wait that long, they told me yes but I have to come get it. I get there they tell me my prescription expired and have to get another eye exam. Wasted my time they could have told me that over the phone. Don’t go here save yourself the headache
Response: Hello, Latoya Corum. Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience. At the time when you called your insurance was covering a replacement pair of glasses. When you came into the office we checked your insurance again and it changed. With the new insurance they require a new exam if it has been over a year, which it had, If you would like to schedule a convenient date for the eye exam, we can help you with that. We are always trying to strive for better service. Thank you.

COOKING WIT Q: THIS PLACE IS BAD FOR BUSINESS ME AND MY SON WENT THERE FOR OCTOBER THE 8th FOR AN EXAM AND GLASSES WE WERE TOLD 6 TO 8 WEEKS WELL LETS JUST SAY MY SON GOT HIS GLASSES AFTER CHRISTMAS AND HERE IT IS JANUARY 29TH AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY GLASSES AFTER READING THESE REVIEWS IVE BEEN LIED TO I WAS TOLD WHEN I CALLED 2 WEEKS I WAS TOLD THE WAREHOUSE WAS DESTROYED IN THE STORM AND THATS WHAT THE HOLD UP IS BUT THAT CLEARLY NOT THE CASE THIS IS SAD AND INSTEAD OF DOING BETTER SOMEONE IS RESPONDING MAKING EXCUSES DON’T EVER GO TO THIS PLACE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT

Anthony DiMillo: I have been wearing glasses and/or contacts my whole life. The worst customer service by far. If you have a choice go somewhere else. One redeeming factor was the doctor. She was good and informative. Its the front desk workers. All the other were correct about them.
Response: Thank you for leaving a review. We are sorry to hear about your frustrating experience, but we thank you for bring this to our attention. Your feedback helps us do better.

TaNaria Stuart: If I could give this place 0 stars I would ! The customer service is TRASH ! Let me explain why: My son is 6 years old with terrible vision . He has astigmatism in both of his eyes. He had his appointment with this place 11/5/20 and was prescribed a prescription for his eye glasses . They told me it will take 4-6 weeks . It is now 1/5/21. 2 months later and he still have yet to receive his glasses. He has been constantly complaining of headaches , which is getting in the way of his learning , being that everything is online and at times I have to cut out his screen time or some of his daily activities because of his constant complaints! I have explained my frustration with the receptionist but it seems like she doesn’t really care! Last week she said my son glasses were out for delivery & that they will be in the office by 1/4/2021. Now she is stating that they will be there next week , I knew something sound fishy because of what she told me last week , so I asked her exactly what day , and what is the tracking number for his glasses because i can track it from there , she then went on to say that it was a mistake and the glasses are still at the lab . I have asked for the lab number that handle his glasses .. she stated that she doesn’t have the number , and that I will just have to wait ! She also kept blaming the “pandemic” of the delay of glasses .. which it doesn’t make sense because I have glasses and they got back within a week or 2. I finally found out what lab take cares of the glasses and the lab is Korrect Optical and of course they are in KY . So I can’t just go and collect them . And to top it off , they are saying I can’t make another appointment with a different eye dr. Because I already use the benefits for his eye exam . Like whattt? This is cruel to my child , and they are hindering him , and it seems like they don’t care not one bit! My son is suffering! I am sooo fed up ‼️ So just BE AWARE THAT YOU WILL SUFFER IF YOU GO HERE , the waiting game is SERIOUS!! The whole staff is rude and very unfriendly !

I'm The 1 They Luv 2 Hate (Space Time): I'm not about to waste my time explaining their policy doesn't make any sense, but I understand y these reviews r like this.

Raine A: The staff and doctor are rude!!!!! They don’t greet customers!!!!!! The doctor walked back and forth in the lobby area several times, but did not say one word to my son or me!!!!! Rude!!!! Customer service skills are lacking at this location!!!! I keep telling myself I’m going to find another eye doctor for my son, but this is it for me. We won’t be back next year! Update - Nope they did not greet people standing at the door. Each employee walked by without saying a word! Then when someone finally opened the door, her first words were “who has an appointment?” instead of good morning. Furthermore, once let inside, you the owner, walked in the lobby several times without saying good morning, but you made sure to tell your employees turkey sandwiches were in the refrigerator.
Response: We are obviously saddened that our service was not provided at optimum care. We always greet our clients and we actually met you at the door, front desk and exam room with a Hello! We helped you with your sons needs and even got him an extra, backup pair of eyeglasses. There will be two cleaning kits for your sons glasses. We are here if you need help and wish you a safe and protected journey, through this uncertain time. We apprecitate your business. Thank you.

R Williams: I just picked up my glasses yesterday and the invisible bifocal is the new type. I think the doctor called them digital. They are great. I can see so much improvement in my vision. The staff is very nice and helpful. Whitney explained my insurance coverage for the purchase of glasses. I have been a patient for over ten years and I have never seen the office treat anyone in a rude way. I have always had a great experience.

Columbia Eye Associates: what do users think?

J Fehrenbach: I have had great experiences with Dr. Luthra. He is thorough, approachable, professional, and explains things cogently. I am especially satisfied with his cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The surgical procedures and the results have been excellent. Based on the information he provided, I decided to go with the multi-focal lenses, which was a wise decision.
Response: Thank you Mr. Fehrenbach for your kind comments! We’re so happy that you had such a great outcome after cataract surgery and the multi-focal intraocular lenses!

Bob: Excellent care over the past ten years. Dr. Luthra virtually changed my life when -- during cataract removal surgery -- he inserted permanent lenses that allow me to see 20/20. (I was legally blind and had an astigmatism prior to the brief surgery.) In addition to having top technical skills, he is that rare doctor who cares about his patients, explains all options, and doesn't push. His office staff has been helpful throughout, even when I called from a trip in Central America.

Dennis Chong: Dr. Luthra has been my primary eyecare doc for many years now. He is engaging and personable so visits aren't overly clinical and dry. He recently performed Epi-Lasik for me (my eyes were so bad I couldn't get standard lasik) and it has been an utter miracle. I'm pretty much at 20/20 now most of the time and honestly I didn't expect that level of success. Would totally recommend.
Response: Thank you Mr. Chong for your kind comments! Congratulations on your excellent outcome!

Susan Rodgers: Dr. Luthra performed my cataract surgeries last August and October. I had the basic lenses covered by Medicare, and was so excited about my 20/10 vision after healing. I have the upmost faith in Dr. Luthra, and especially enjoy his quirky sense of humor. The surgery clinic he uses is top notch.

Deborah Siluk: This doctor is awesome! Through his expertise and talent, he saved the vision in my eye and probably the eye itself. His calm nature and sense of humor helped so much in keeping my stress level down. He is extremely informative and writes down all my instructions for me and makes himself available if any issues arise. I can't say enough good things about him. I even found out one of my other doctors goes to him and she had the same view. I think that says a lot. His staff are wonderful.
Response: Thank you Deborah for your kind comments!

Fallon O'Brien: I made an emergency last-minute appointment at Columbia Eye Associates last year, for (what I would find out to be) a corneal ulcer. While I was very nervous and uneducated on the issue, Dr. Luthra took quick action on an aggressive treatment plan and made me feel at ease. He provides excellent care and takes his patients’ health very seriously. He does not sugar coat things and provides his patients’ with thorough information. He saw me every single day for a week, and multiple times per week for months after that, and gave me his cell phone in case of emergency. Fast forward 13 months and I have 20/20 vision and no ulcer, thanks to Dr. Luthra. He performed epi-LASIK surgery on me in March and I could not be happier. If you are in the Washington, D.C. area and need an ophthalmologist, Columbia Eye Associates is where you need to go.
Response: Thanks so much Fallon for your kind comments!

Donna Barnes: Aftercare from cataract surgery went downhill after such a successful surgery. During my 24 hour checkup, Dr. Luthra's mood and attitude changed towards me after asking questions and repeating my vision rating that one of his assistants had told me weeks ago during a pre op exam. She was relatively new and was giving me an exam that included staring at a light for 5 seconds and repeating it 3 times for each eye. She said my vision was fine and that I had 20/25 vision. I remember this because I never heard those numbers before. During this post operation visit, I asked him about the 20/25 rating and he said no it's 20/40. Then proceeded to tell me he was not going to do my second eye and that he has a right to refuse a patient. He accused me of making numbers up and that he did not like my line of questions. I felt totally humiliated because all I could think of was who would do my second eye and how I would have to find another dr...etc,etc. He totally disrespected me and abused his authority as my doctor. I went home feeling stressed. He had indicated that after eye surgery that it is important not to get stressed. His dismissing me for asking questions and repeating a vision rate that was told to me - was unprofessional. He never asked where I got the numbers. He was answering my questions as though I was a child and made me feel inferior for asking. I couldn't sleep that night trying to figure what went wrong and why was he so short with me, as well as, contemptible and unpleasant. I honestly feel he was already having a bad day and took it out on me because there was no excuse. I even felt he should have called me and apologized. When I left his office I asked him to please reconsider and he said he would think about it. When I got home I made several calls and found out it would be no problem switching doctors and that I should be fine. The following day I cancelled my 1 week follow up and the appt to do surgery on the 2nd eye. He must have changed his mind because I was still on the books, which tells me he realized his actions were uncalled for. All I could think of was what if he has one of those moods while working on my second eye!!!!!

Kim Wilson: After a frustrating month seeing multiple other doctors, Dr. luthra was the only one able to properly treat and heal my reoccurring styes. I moved but continued driving 45 mins to see him. Thank you!
Response: Thank you Ms. Wilson for your kind comments!

Scott Cooper: I have been a patient of Dr Luthra for nearly 8-years now, and I highly recommend. Besides coming in for annual eye exams, I also had Dr Luthra perform my Lasik surgery two years ago (it’s been life changing - and I wish I had done it sooner!). Dr Luthra’s knowledge, professionalism, and demeanor have made him one of my top doctors in DC. Highly recommended.
Response: Thanks Scott!

Elizabeth Nelson: I had a very pleasant experience at columbia eye associates. I had seen another doctor before coming to Dr. Luthra and the service I received at Columbia eye associates was way better. Dr. Luthra was recommended to me by a co-worker and I am so glad I decided to see him. Dr. Luthra took time to listen to my concerns and patiently explained me the diagnosis. I had eye issues since my childhood, Dr. Luthra is the one doctor that who seemed to be genuinely concerned about the health of my eye. He is very knowledgeable, no wonder the co-worker who recommended him spoke so highly of him. I even called Dr. Luthra on the weekend for some issue and he told me exactly what would help me. I am so happy with the care that I received. The place was clean and everyone followed the protocols. I would any day recommend Columbia Eye Associates to my friends and family.
Response: Thanks Elizabeth for your kind comments!

Washington Eye Consultants: what do users think?

R Ragland: Dr. Dan Yin is fantastic! Her "bed-side manner" is the best I've ever experienced. Her vast expertise in both vision corrective laser surgery and cataract lens replacement was quite evident when I got both procedures done simultaneously in the fall of 2021 (one eye at a time, of course!). The staff are friendly, extremely competent and professional. Follow-up appointments were well-organized and very thorough. It's been 6 months since my 2nd eye was done. My vision is perfect, I've had zero complications and could not be more pleased with the results. Go see Dr. Yin. You'll be glad you did!

Samina: Dr. Yin is an amazing physician and has excellent bed side manner. She answered all my questions and is very personable and kind. I can tell she truly cares about her patients and their vision concerns!! I will be going back to her regularly! Also all of the techs were super friendly, competent and efficient.

fledge 2b: 5 stars all the way! Thank you Dr. Yin! i just completed my second cataract surgery in three months (both were with a monofocal lens and manual surgery), and my distance vision is now vivid and crisp, actually better than I've ever had. The surgeries were comfortable and painless, and the staff both at the office and at the Palisades Eye Surgery Center were great. I especially appreciated Dr. Yin's patient explanation of all my technical questions - very reassuring; made the entire process a lot less scary.

Kate Shin: Visited today for routine eye check up for my family. Front desk staffs and nurses were highly efficient yet kind and Dr Yin was friendly and kind enough to explain what I needed to know. One of the best practices I have been to in recent years on overall service and efficiency!

Shashi G: I’ve been seeing (literally) Dr. Chu for over 25 years now. After wearing glasses for many decades, Dr. Chu’s office provided a wonderful selection of frames and many name brands as well. The state-of-the art equipment is very impressive, and the entire team of office staff is very helpful. His office runs smoothly and never have to wait more than 5-10 mins. My cataract surgery last year was very reassuring and comforting experience. I still see perfect 20/20. Dr. Chu called me after each eye surgery and was very compassionate and made sure I was not having any complications. I strongly recommend Dr. Chu for any type of eye care. Dr. Chu gets ***** from me for professionalism, skill, knowledge, and compassion.
Response: I greatly appreciate your kind review. Thank you Shashi. Dr. Chu

Noreen Warren: I selected this practice after researching ophthalmologists on the internet. I had recently moved to Maryland and finding good quality medical care was both a priority and a concern. Dr. Chu has exceeded my expectations. This practice is well run and Dr. Chu is a skilled and compassionate physician. I found the office to be conveniently located and well run with plenty of parking and virtually no wait time upon arrival for appointments. I had cataracts and at the same time I found I was unable to continue detailed needlework, Dr. Chu began to discuss them with me at my regular checkup. He patiently explained and described my problem and options for treatment. I decided to proceed with surgical removal of the cataracts. Dr. Chu discussed the surgery with me until I felt very comfortable with the entire process. He provided pamphlets and carefully designed documents as well as plenty of opportunity to ask questions and air my concerns. I could not have been better prepared. The surgery went without a hitch. My vision is very clear, much better than I expected. I am thrilled with the experience and the results. I highly recommend this practice for your eye care.

Jessica Mollard: As someone who has been highly myopic my entire life, I had always wanted to correct my vision but was always told it wasnt possible. Finally my vision stabilized and my eye dr recommended Washington Eye Consultants and the clear lens extraction procedure (cataract surgery). I'm happy to say that my experience was everything that I hoped for. The office staff is exceptionally professional and Dr Yin took her time in assessing me as a candidate and explaining my options. Once we decided to go forward, the procedure was a huge success. I can see clearly now without the aid of glasses or contacts. Now thanks to Dr. Yin, I no longer have to worry about wearing painful or dry contacts, finding my glasses every morning, or spending obscene amounts of money on special order contact lenses. I really feel that Dr Yin and the staff at WEC has changed my life and I am very very grateful. I will never take being able to see clearly for granted! I highly recommend her if you are considering any procedure there.

Rock Marquis: Before I set out for my cataract surgery of both eyes, I did my due diligence regarding the maturity of the technology, choice of lens, but most importantly, choice of eye surgeon. After all, it is my eyesight that I will live for the rest of my life. During the process, I came across two of my friends who had recently gone through cataract surgery, and both of them where patients of Dr. Chu, and both of them highly recommend Dr. Chu as they had nothing but total success. I took their recommendation and as the saying goes, the rest is history. I am so happy with Dr. Chu, from the initial consultation that was transparent, to the processes that was so smooth, but most importantly, the end results that are just flawless with zero complication. I would highly recommend Dr. Chu and the staff of the Washington Eye Consultants!

Khang Nguyen: Doctor Chu performed cataract surgery for me and I sincerely appreciated his profound expertise as well as his kind patience in giving me all needed professional advice on the choice of IOL. I am very happy I had chosen to have multifocal lenses because I can write today these lines without glasses. Again, I wish to convey my sincere thanks to Dr. Chu and his staff for their excellent care.

Rose Rolling: For Dr. Chu and assistant staff have been excellent . Being that the eye/s are a very sensitive part of the body , the training ,experience, and services rendered makes me feel not anxious, nervous, or uncomfortable . I would highly refer or recommend The eye/s care for his services .

G.W. Ophthalmology: what do users think?

Vanessa Bateman: Worst experience ever at an eye practice. Transferred 14 times in a circle just trying to get an appointment. Finally asked for my name and number so they could call me back only to be told they couldn’t schedule an appointment because I was not an existing patient. Despite advertising urgent care appointments, don’t try to get one as a new patient - even if you see other GW doctors and your GW doctor refers you. They’re not interested. If you need urgent care for your eye, find someone else because these folks won’t help you and they’ll take a long time before telling you they won’t help.

Fleur Gedamke: I am continually impressed with all the staff at the WEI. I am always treated with respect and am given the most thorough tests, advice and overall care. The young staff that do the tests are stellar and polite and my Doctor is so informative. I had lens replacement surgery and am always going back for check-ups - and I am always pleased with their service. They are patient and really listen to your concerns. It is clean and efficient.
Response: Thank you for your kind review. We are happy to hear of your great experiences in our office and look forward to caring for your eyes for years to come!

Anton Jones: 2022 update: This is still the best eye care Dr, staff and facility. Thank you WEI Team 🙌🏾. I've been going here since 2019. Well, I'm still going back. Dr. Ashker is great. She really cares about my health. She takes time to explain things. She even goes into greater detail when asked. The rest of the staff is super friendly and professional. They never make me feel like I'm bother them. The new office space is great too. It accommodates a good about of patients without being crowded. The office is very clean. I see staff wiping seats and machines after each patient with is to be expected during this pandemic. They were doing that pre-pandemic anyway from what I've seen. This is an outstanding place with a great team people professionals.
Response: Thank you for the update on your past review. We are happy to hear you have had great experiences with us! --Thank you for a great review. We agree, Dr. Ashker is great! We make sure our office is thoroughly cleaned/sanitized and this will continue post-pandemic.

Cynthia Brown: My experience with my appointment at W.E.I. I sighed in then as I was doing my paper work, I was greated by a person that work there , she gave me a tress ball and offered me juice, water, peanut butter, crackers. Everyone that worked there was so nice and professional, in my 61 year I have never experienced this, All doctors offices should be like this..Thank you Washington Eye Institute.
Response: Thank you for your kind words. We take pride in being one of the few practices in the area that employ a Patient Advocate. We value our patients and we are happy to hear of your great experience!

Felicia Hamilton: They were very professional. I was seen in a timely manner. I felt as though I had a total eye examination, more thorough than other places. The optometrist explained everything to me so I could understand my condition. She gave me an overview of my upcoming procedures and actually look forward to it. PS. The office also provided free water and snack. Didn't have time to eat and boy was it welcomed. Thanks Washington Eye Institute.
Response: Thank you for your kind words and 5 star review. We are happy to hear of your great experience and that you were able to take part in the free water and snacks!

Response: Thank you for your kind words and 5-star review. We are happy to hear of your great experience. We agree, Dr. See is great!

Nancy Beigel: Excellent medical visit. All staff members were welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. The vision testing was done with the latest technology so it was less invasive than the older methods. The test for glasses prescription was done by the doctor, not a tech. It yielded a much stronger correction than other tests have done. I look forward to getting my new glasses so I can stop squinting to try and see in the distance.
Response: We are so happy to hear you had an excellent experience with our team. Thank you for sharing your experience and for the five star review!

Qianru Liao: Strongly recommends this eye clinic! Inside all are talented people! Dr. Chu is patient and gentle, besides, the front desk brother looks dashing! It's only once a year for the eye exam. I’ll introduce this institution to all my friends and come back next year!
Response: Thank you for your kind words. We agree, Dr. Chu is one of the best! We look forward to seeing you next year!

Rose H: Great staff. Dr. Chu is awesome; she explained the procedures and made me very comfortable. I highly recommend this eye care center.

Metropolitan Optical: what do users think?

Christianna Brotsis: I've been going to Metropolitan Optical for close to 20 years. I've always been extremely satisfied with Dr. Saba and her team. Recently, my son (7) needed to an eye exam and I couldn't fathom taking him anywhere else. He was nervous but the team put him at ease by talking to him about the equipment and process. Turns out he does need glasses and by the time we got home he seemed excited about it.

Kathy Guthrie: I have been going to Metropolitan Optical for many years. Dr. Ayalew is really a very reassuring doctor. I feel very confident in her care. Furthermore, I have always appreciated the care of the staff, whether in greeting or helping me to pick out new glasses. I would highly recommend this practice.

B VC: I've seen Dr. Saba for a few years and I've had some new challenges with my eyes and I couldn't ask for a better team at Metropolitan Optical. Rodney, Paul, and Dr. Saba have gone above and beyond to make my glasses work and make sure I'm taken care of. I would highly recommend this practice.

Kelsey Harding: I went to Metropolitan Optical for the first time and had a wonderful experience. I saw Dr. Stupiansky, who was very nice and thorough. She answered all of my questions, and answered some of them before I even asked! The entire office staff is so nice and helpful. I'll be going to them in the future for any optical needs.

Jeanna Williams: Dr. Saba and her team are great professionals. My family has recently become clients of her practice since 2020 and love her engagement and professionalism.

Ron Watkins: My Favorite OpticianI've been going to Dr. Ayalew for over 20 years. I couldn't see me going to any other optician. I moved to Rockville and I still travel to DC for appointments.

Julie Porter: I have seen Dr Ayalew for many years. She is a great professional as well as a warm and caring person. I highly recommend her and the office team for treating their clients very well. Metropolitan Optical is expensive but I go back because I trust Dr. Ayalew and enjoy chatting with her whenever I have an eye exam.
Response: Hi Julie, Thank you for your kind words! we love having you in our office!

Dami Aina: Dr Saba was warm and had great bedside manners; she was also very thorough during her exam.

Emille Robinson: I always have a good experience here. I must say, though, that my visit on yesterday was slightly less than stellar. For one, I was placed in an examination room, but had to wait quite some time to see the doctor (I don't fault her; I think she just had a chatty patient right before me). I was then disappointed that contacts I ordered a couple of weeks before had not yet come in and was informed that I would be called later in the day once my order was followed up on, but did not receive a call. When I called the office back close to the end of the business day, I was put on hold while the gentleman then contacted the vendor. Lastly, I was told my eyeglass prescription was being emailed to me; however, it was not received. I have just sent an email to the office requesting it be sent. These were all unusual occurrences which is why I still gave Metropolitan Optical five stars. I have been going to MO for several years and 99% of the time, I have had no complaints and been very happy with my experience.
Response: Hi Emille, thank you for taking the time to leave this review and tell us more about your experience. We are notifying the staff of your feedback and will do the best we can to make sure this doesn't happen in the future!

Katia Dobrovolskaia: I had a great experience at Metropolitan Optical. Paul took great care in checking and re-checking my prescription. He asked a lot of relevant questions about my daily routine. I have never received this level of attention before. They also were great about fitting my lenses to frames that I bought elsewhere.
Response: Hi Katia, thank you for the great review!

Metropolitan Optical: what do users think?

Camille Kirsch: So glad I decided to try Metropolitan Optical! Dr. Stupiansky was warm and thorough. I appreciated her willingness to explain everything to me. She also recommended a new brand of contacts that was affordable but more comfortable than my previous brand. Her staff were friendly, helpful, and great at navigating my insurance. Plus, they recommended some very cute glasses!

Katy Li: Went back and forth on this rating - I really wanted to give 5/5 stars, because everyone was very friendly and I had a great experience getting an exam and purchasing glasses! Seriously awesome people. Unfortunately, the billing experience was 0/5 stars. Like many others, I have an annual vision allowance, which encompasses vision costs I pay out of pocket and costs billed directly to my insurer. So anything that's billed to my insurer (without me having to pay anything) counts "against" my allowance. When paying for my exam, I specifically asked whether anything was billed directly to my insurer, so I could figure out whether I also wanted to pay for my lenses at the same time, or wait until the new year (at which point my allowance resets). I explained all the above reasoning when asking. The person checking me out said no, nothing from my exam is directly billed. However, upon receiving the bill, I discovered that $200+ had in fact been billed directly to insurer - not technically for the vision exam itself, but for the glaucoma test (the air puff test), and a couple other items that are *technically* not part of the exam to reevaluate my prescription. Ok, I didn't specifically ask about every single line item that might've showed up on my bill because it didn't occur to me, but I think it was pretty clear that I would've wanted to know about these glaucoma exam etc. charges since those eat into my allowance, and I actually ended up going $200+ over for the year. They didn't show me the itemized bill while checking out (I only received it afterwards), or I would've caught this in the moment. I got a receipt for the transaction, but this only reflected what I was paying OOP, not what was billed directly to my insurer. I won't say this was outright deceptive, since as a I said, the "extra" line items weren't technically part of the exam. But it was at least neglectful of them not to mention this and costing me hundreds that I could've gotten covered if I'd known about it.

Shervonne Barnes: Great staff, Jose and Emma became like a instant family to me , Love my 2 new frames especially my one of a kind frames that were meant only for me

Beth Cormack: It was my first time at Metropolitan Optical this morning and I had a FANTASTIC experience! Dr Kristin Stupiansky and her team were so warm, welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. I had an eye exam, setup with contact lenses for the first time and was fitted for new eyeglasses all in one visit! I was in and out in less than an hour. Highly recommend :)

Violet Lhant: Fantastic service. Very kind and welcoming. Very knowledgeable about their craft. I wish all medical appointments were this smooth.

Sonya M: Friendly environment. Dr. was attentive and listened to what I had to say. My past prescription had been too strong and she took it down for me. I feel much better in my new contacts! Thank you.

Marissa Newman: Dr. Saba Ayalew is so knowledgeable and helpful. She is also very patient and friendly. Her staff also observes all necessary health guidelines during this trying time. If you need an optometrist in the DMV please go see her.
Response: Thank you for your review!

Austin Ryan: I called to set up a time to pick up my glasses and when I showed up the store was closed even though I had just spoke with them earlier that day. I guess they closed early with no warning. Very frustrating for the customer.

Jim Jackson: Excellent Staff with a superior COVID centric process in place! This was such a satisfying experience. They stayed in touch with me via Text Messages on all that we needed to coordinate prior to my visit. Once I was there, all I needed to do was send them a text that I was at their location. Someone immediately let me in facility where I was asked to stand at a designated social distance designated spot. They informed me of every process in for form of sanitation that was being done specific for the prep of my appointment (I saw this being done). My doctor was AMAZING. She was pleasant, professional and very informative on the current status of my exam diagnosis. the eye class technician was professional and helpful throughout the process in getting my eye glasses updated and the prescription filled for me. I would strongly recommended anyone in the DC area to take advantage of what Metropolitan Optical provides in service and quality.
Response: Hi Jim, thanks for taking the time to leave this great review. We take our COVID protocol very seriously so our patients can continue feeling safe in our office!

Ashley Maddox: The optometrist was very throughout and answered all my questions. Everyone was so professional, and I will definitely come here in the future!

Howard University Hospital- Ophthalmology: what do users think?

K. Beautiful Powell: The wait is ridiculous and very unnecessary. Office is never appealing and half of the staff are personable and professional. Dr. Jones is nice. But there is better out here

Rahel Amanuel: I honestly can’t believe after 4 hours my mom is still waiting for final evaluation by the doctor!! This clinic is not run efficiently and during this time with Covid , they should try to get patients in and out much sooner.. no such luck . Very disappointed in the way this facility operates and we will not be returning .

Woubetu Yimer: It is my pleasure to express my observation on the customer service and the treatment I obtained at your Ophthalmology Department since Aug-15-2017- Oct – 4-2017. During those days, the treatment obtained from your department—particularly the eye surgery, was successful and ended without complications. In the meantime, I would like to thank the outstanding services given to me by the technicians, nurses, and receptionist. Everything was great and wonderful! Sincerely, Hail Mariam Mintwab

James Sumner: I have had a great experience with Dr. Bilal Khan. I was in need of a retinal specialist a few years back when I first met Dr. Khan. I found him to be very knowledgeable, kind, caring, and compassionate. Back at that time, he was heaven sent to me! I always say that "He Is One Of The Best In The City." I continue to see him today. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Regina Williams: I was very disappointed about the 2 hours I had to wait (after my scheduled appointment time) before I was seen by a doctor, but the saving grace was Dr. Asima Bajwa. Dr. Bajwa apologized for the long wait, which I greatly appreciated, and proceeded to give me a thorough eye exam and answered my numerous questions with patience, expertise, and humor. Dr. Bajwa was wonderful and I wish her continued success in the future! Suggestion for HUH Ophthalmology: Please notify patients (when they arrive) if they are going to have to wait 2-3 hours or longer to see a doctor so the patient can decide to stay and wait or reschedule for another day. Thank You.

Shenna Johnson: I visited Howard’s Opthalmology office because of a chemical exposure to my eye. I was a walk-in patient, and spent about 3 hours of my time there. I thought that the Physician, Dr. Richard, was competent and very knowledgeable. Overall, I am happy with my visit and would recommend.

Catherine Uzoamaka Nwokolo: Dr Jones was extremely patient and attentive. She took the time to carefully review my results and explain all my care options. I highly recommend her

Roxanna Mannan: I would give this place a zero star if there was an option for it. The wait time with an appointment is 3 to 5 hours to be seen by the doctor. It's the worst hospital I have ever been to. Save yourself the time and energy, find a different eye doctor.

David Kanyinda: There’s a guy named Nathaniel who is the greatest human being there. I’ll never sleep in contacts again he saved my eye

Adriana Santos: We here waiting for 2 hours and still haven't been seen. Horrible experience. Bad customer service not allowing to tell you anything if they running late.

For Eyes: what do users think?

L Smith: Dr Dan was awesome, the tech staff Mary-Bell was so kind and helpful. I had a great experience. I was a little concerned at first because I loved my last Eye Dr Dr Simon who just retired and I knew he would he hard to replace. But Dr Dan was great 👍🏽👍🏽. Thanks so much For Eyes
Response: Thanks for your review! We are happy to hear you had a great experience with Dr. Dan and staff. We look forward to your next visit!

Frances Abbott: For Eyes is the best place so far. They actually helped and answered all my questions. Will be back
Response: Thanks for your review!

Latisha Hall: Ask for Alejandro He Provided The Best Customer Service. Works with you and not against you! Please shop and go here!!! My daughter and I are overly satisfied!! Thank you!! 💕💕💕🙂🙂
Response: Thanks for your review, Latisha!

Pattie Johnson: I love foreyes the eye Doctor is great they see you on time before your appointment overall my visit was great experience they do a good job.
Response: Hi Pattie! We're happy to hear you had a great experience during the eye exam and visit. Thank you for choosing For Eyes!

Yolanda Williams: Called and spoke with an Representative for Eye Exam and Glasses. I was very relieved once I confirmed that this place accepts Medicaid, especially after searching around trying to find an Eye location whom does. Young lady schedules me Great ! It wasn’t until I got there filled out all the Paperwork, waited and was called back up with an Issue. The issue was that because I’ve already used my Medicaid within the previous year I would have to wait the following year to use again(unbeknownst) to me. So terribly upset and disappointed because all of this could’ve been explained over the phone. I ask to speak with Manager ( Dr.Simon)oh boy disgusting attitude; condescending;wouldn’t let me get a word in, very rude and would not allow to express my frustration and concern without getting defensive. I understand that I was lucky enough to find this location whom actually accepts Medicaid. However, my one and only concern was the miscommunication regarding the limit with my insurance which could’ve been told to me before hand. Why schedule me if you know for fact I would not be serviced. Waste of Time and Travel !
Response: Hello Yolanda, thank you for sharing your experience. Please feel free to contact us at feedback@foreyes.com to share further details and we will have a member of our team reach out to you. We appreciate your feedback!

Khadija Jones: I love Dr. Nancy Ross and her team! Check in was smooth and Dr. Ross explained every step of the eye exam to me. She made me feel comfortable about my eyes. Dr. Ross also gave me ergonomic tips (desk chair height, computer height, and looking away ever so often) to help my eyes since I work on a computer all day! As long as Dr. Ross is at this location, she will have my business. I highly recommend Dr. Ross to anyone looking for any type of eye exam! A truly pleasurable experience.
Response: Hello Khadija! Thank you for taking the time to highlight the efforts of our doctor. We will be sure to pass your comments onto the team and recognize the great service you received at your local For Eyes store. We look forward to your next visit!

Lydia Burnett: I really loved this place the first time I went. I loved the doctor, felt that he was honest and straightforward, and the prices for things were clear. I got my glasses and while the shipping took awhile, I was happy with it overall. However, I recently went here about a year after my first visit to get fitted for contacts and it was a mess. At first, I was really grateful they could squeeze me in last minute (hence two stars instead of one), but everything else was a mess. They claimed that there was some problem with my insurance, and that I needed to get a reimbursement from my insurance company for a visit after the fact. This is not how it was supposed to work, and as far as I could tell, there was absolutely no reason they couldn't charge my insurance originally. What ended up needing to happen was for them to backdate a claim to the insurance, and refund me when they got that money back. I have still, over a month later, not received that refund. Not only that, but at the time, they said I wasn't even going to get the full refund that I am owed because, "That's not what the insurance will give us, so we'll refund you whatever we get back." This is just not how this works. If the claim is submitted properly, I should get the full amount my insurance covers. Either way, there was no reason not to charge my insurance properly on the day of my appointment. The entire time I was trying to sort this out, I was also trying to place an order for the contact lenses. I had been given a trial set but I wanted to actually order some. They wouldn't answer or return my calls. After two weeks of trying, I walked into the store to order them in person and sort out the insurance thing (when the above awful interaction occurred). They then offered to ship the contacts, but when the contacts arrived at the store, I got a call telling me to come pick them up. To their credit, they did then ship them to me, but it took forever. I don't know if they were actively trying to scam me with the insurance issue, or if their staff was just poorly trained and handled it badly, but everything that occurred afterwards was inexcusable. Needless to say, that was the last time I'll be going here. Even if I don't get a refund from my insurance, at least I won't have to deal with their dismissive, scammy attitude again. It's a real shame because I really did like the actual optometrist.
Response: Hello Lydia, thank you for sharing your experience. Please feel free to contact us at feedback@foreyes.com to share further details and we will have a member of our team reach out to you. We appreciate your feedback!

Antoinita Johnson-EL: The employees were very polite, greetful, and knowledgeable about their work.
Response: Hi Antoinita! We are so happy to hear our employees were polite and knowledgeable during your visit. We appreciate you for choosing For Eyes!

Vette Boyd: Unprofessional I called 3 weeks ago to make child appointment and the day of the appointment they're telling me they don't have his name in the system so who did I speak to that faked scheduled the appointment??? what a waste of my day!!!!!
Response: Hello Vette, thank you for sharing your experience. Please feel free to contact us at feedback@foreyes.com to share further details and we will have a member of our team reach out to you. We appreciate your feedback!

Trent Prue: This review is to commend the For Eyes organization for the excellent service I received at your L. St. DC location...I would like to thank Dr.R. Simon...Mr. J Guzman...& MS. Nicole M. for their great service & caring attitudes...keep up the good work...
Response: Hello Trent! Thank you for taking the time to highlight the efforts of our doctor and staff. We will be sure to pass your comments onto the team and recognize the great service you received at your local For Eyes store. We look forward to your next visit!

Eye Central, part of MyEyeDr.: what do users think?

Mason Dixon: I have been a patient here for a number of years and was just back for my yearly exam. I really appreciate the care the team takes in providing a thorough eye exam and taking into consideration family history, past exams, and my current needs. Dr. Foley is really good at explaining the conditions of the eye, possible treatment approaches, and potential complications. I really value his expertise and experience. They also have a pretty good selection of frames in the shop and provided helpful advice in choosing one to fit my face.

Aaron Kalafarski: Be careful, they took $75 from me. It took me a several hours going back and forth with my insurance and Eye Central to sort it out. Long story short, due to their negligence I was charged $75 for my routine eye exam appointment even though I have insurance and the appointment was supposed to be completely covered. Short story long, I've been here for the previous 2+ year with the same insurance and up until this point things were normal. I'm frustrated because when I went in person to talk to their manager Dana she did not apologize for their $75 mistake. Instead, she said it would take at least a week to sort out my reimbursement and then made me sign a form before I could receive my reimbursement. After explaining that it took me several hours to sort things out Dana said she couldn't offer any sort of discount, partial refund, special offer, or any other sort of compensation for the time I spent sorting out their mess. Overall, the doctors and other employees there get at least a 4 or 5 star rating from me. I haven't had any issues with them and they've been quite nice and accommodating. But management and Dana specifically get 2 stars for their terrible customer service policies and doing the bare minimum (again, I wasted several hours of my time and it will take at least a week for me to receive my reimbursement). Dana's customer service was extremely poor and I do not plan on giving Eye Central any more of my money. Be careful when you go that they aren't charging you for things that are covered by your insurance.

Jocelyn Fraser: I've been a customer for 5+ years. Dr. Reed is a mainstay and well respected in field. This past weekend I witnessed and experienced exceptional customer service: Dr. Frarier - Undoubtedly knows what she does and does it effortlessly and well. Dana - Store mgr. - Displayed and is the epitome of business and phenomenal customer service. Tania- Optical specialist - unbelievably professional, kind and a craftsman at his specialty. Thank you Eye Central DC - KUDOS!

Dana Lange: Updated review as of 1/15/22: The office manager, Dana, called me after I shared my review below to apologize and explain the technical issues that led to the challenges I was experiencing making an appointment. She then proceeded to offer me an appointment for this weekend and gave me a discount on my exam. The service I received this morning from Dana and Dr. Fraire was prompt, efficient and informative. I appreciate them going above and beyond to make things right and will continue to get my eye services here! Thank you! Original review: Just a heads up - this place might be closed. I’m a returning patient and have been trying to make an appointment for a week now. No response to email, and the phone number is out of service. Would be nice if they at least updated their website so I know why I’m not getting any response…

Ian Lever: I had a great experience here, having to get an eye exam and glasses after failing my eye exam at the DMV. Dr. Martin was thorough and professional, helping me navigate needing glasses for the first time. Tan was also great and very patient in advising which glasses were best. Would definitely recommend.

Shantanu A Banerjee: Had an easy and pleasant annual visit with Dr. Reed, very professional and takes the time to explain what he’s doing. I did not give 5 stars b/c upon check out the front office charged for the annual visit as well as a contacts evaluation fee, the latter being something I had not requested during my appointment, and is something that has not been tacked on in my prior optometrist visits elsewhere.

sumanpreet kaur: Love working with this location. Tanim was very helpful. He spent almost 2 hours with me to look for the perfect eye glasses for my face. I never wore glasses before so i was really self conscious on wearing glasses coz of my vision. I love my new glasses. All thanks to Tanim.

Andrea Massengile: The staff was professional and no long wait time to see the doctor. Dr. Foley was kind and personable which more doctors need to be, but most importantly he explained everything during the eye examination as well as willing to answer any questions.

cynthia mcintyre: I brought my eyeglasses in to have the new prescription put in. The tech did the necessary measurements and in a few weeks I picked up my glasses. This is the first time since I have been a patient here (many years) that I have not needed any adjustments. I am so happy that there's a tech who gets it right the first time.

Leslie Mobray: It is always a great visit with Dr. Fissel! The examinations are not stressful, the conversations are enlightening and yesterday’s office staff was delightful. I can see clearly now!

MyEyeDr.: what do users think?

Annette Johnson: If you’re looking for a comfortable place to go with faces that look like yours this is the place to be! I immediately felt at ease by the diversity when I walked in the office. No question was a dumb question, and I was straight forward about wanting a deal with some quality and Mike immediately put me at ease. He broke it down for me and made it quick and painless. As far as the eye exam again I felt comfortable to ask all the question I needed to Dr. Neigel, and I felt heard. Will definitely be back for contacts next!
Response: Annette, Wow, 5-stars! We couldn't be more pleased to hear of your satisfaction. Thank you for choosing MyEyeDr. and Mike to guide you on your vision care journey. See you next time!

Zaheer M (zaheer): My previous myeyedr location was great. I've had less luck here. I was led to believe that AR coating would minimize glare from photographs. Then I found out there's really no way to do that. They also told me their eyeglass cleaner would prevent fog from my mask. A customer service rep reached out to me to clarify, which is good. But the opticians here could focus more on the customer experience. Meantime, I'm going back to Warby Parker.
Response: Hey Zaheer- Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. We want to ensure that every concern is addressed and resolved. We are grateful to have been provided that opportunity. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Brandon Mourich: I will say that the office is clean and all of the front office staff I interacted with were very friendly and efficient. My experience with the doctor, however, was much less pleasant. I informed the doctor that I just needed a new prescription, and that I had been wearing my contacts (from Warby Parker) for years and liked them. She informed me they didn't sell them and she had never heard of Warby Parker? I said that was okay, I would order them separately. She seemed confused, and simply repeated that she didn't sell them, but continued the exam. She did not seem like she cared once I said I planned to order my contacts elsewhere and simply wanted an exam. Upon leaving, I realize that she had written me a script for a lens I had never worn. I called to inquire, and was told I needed Warby Parker to call to confirm my prescription. I said no problem, and Warby Parker called and were told they refused to speak without me signing a waiver (despite giving consent). I called back to ask how to sign the waiver, and I was told again the doctor refused to move forward as she personally didn't sell that lens (i.e. won't make money). I tried to reach out 4 times over the course of the next week to inquire about how to resolve the issue and never received a single response. I ended up going to a new eye doctor, who told me that unfortunately this can been seen sometimes from "less ethical" eye doctors. I don't know if Dr. Jing Guo is corrupt or willfully uninformed, but either is not a quality I want in an eye doctor. I would avoid seeing her at all costs.
Response: Hi, Brandon. We are disappointed to learn of your dissatisfaction with your recent visit. We assure you we never meant to let you down. We attempted to reach you by phone this morning and left a voicemail with our direct contact information. We would love to provide clarification on this situation and to assist in any way possible! Please return our call to 888.414.4442 so we may connect. We are available Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM ET, and we look forward to speaking with you!

Matt Prezioso: They decreased my contact prescription for one eye and put me in a toric for the other. The one they decreased is blurry, and the new toric doesn't fit right. I was told at the time of the visit that I'd get trials and my card wouldn't be charged for the contact order until that went through. Instead, a week later a box with the full order showed up and my card was charged fully. No trials. Also, it was frustrating that I had to say I'd go get the lenses elsewhere due to the unusually high price they were quoting me for them to declare that they'd actually price match depending on where I planned to shop. So if you do go here, ask for comparable prices to 1800Contacts and Walmart. They won't do it for you unless you do. Also, there was this surprise 40$ charge for taking some sort of special photos that I was never told costed extra, and I never agreed to. They just did it- I didn't know until the end that it was an add-on fee so I didn't get a chance to even decline it. I've also not had that done before with other optometrists and have been going to one for 23 years. This place is a disappointment to our healthcare system and I absolutely do not recommend using them. I now get to shell out more money to go to a second doctor to get this corrected.
Response: Matt, we truly regret to learn of the multiple inconveniences you have detailed regarding your contact lens experience. This is certainly not the efficient care we strive for, and rest assured, this situation will be addressed with our team accordingly. We would be honored by the opportunity to further review your situation, as we would love to make this right for you! Please provide us your contact information at www.myeyedr.com/patientrelations so we may connect with you directly and offer a resolution. Your feedback is essential to us and we appreciate your time in sharing. We look forward to turning this experience around very soon!

Kenny Mok: Amazing service. Came in for eye exam and ordering new yearly supply of contacts. Simple, in and out, process - no problems. Staff members were very friendly and quick. Doctor kindly answered all my questions.
Response: Hi, Kenny. We are so proud to hear of the amazing care you received from our Gallery Place team! It was our pleasure to provide you with quality service and we can't wait to care for you again soon!

Eric Feldman: Stopped in with no appointment to adjust frames that i did not buy there but which were sitting crooked on my face. David was incredibly kind and friendly about helping and made several rounds of adjustments until they looked perfect.
Response: Hi, Eric! Our teams know what a difference a well fitted frame can make, so we are always happy to help however we can with complimentary frame adjustments! We’ll be sure to let them know how happy this service and recent experience made you. Nothing inspires us more than hearing from a happy patient!

ImKEE2012: Great Location. Very professional staff. Everyone here is pleasant and helpful. The Clinic Manager goes above and beyond. I trust this location 100 percent for all of my eye care needs.
Response: How outstanding it is to know our team was so attentive to your wellness! We appreciate you being our loyal patient and sharing this experience. Come see us again soon!

Cheryl Miller: My experience was very pleasant and successful. My Eyedr personnel were very courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and professional, as well as friendly.
Response: Hi, Cheryl! Thanks for your 5-star review! We care about providing you the best-in-class care you deserve and are so glad to have met your expectations. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Edwith Theogene: King David and Mikevelli provided great service and help! Excited to get my contacts and new glasses. Thanks for the sunglasses!
Response: Hi, Edwith! How outstanding it is to know our team was so attentive to your wellness! We appreciate you being our loyal patient and sharing this experience. Come see us again soon!

Kelley Smith: I have been going here for 3 years because I just need an annual eye exam. They pushed me to get glasses I don't really wear regularly and then push me to get new lenses every year. Once, I agreed and they completely butchered the lenses and would not fix them unless I paid full price again. It's a fine place to get an exam but I'm so frustrated with how sales focused it is.
Response: Hi Kelley! I am sad to hear that we missed the mark. At MyEyeDr we are committed to addressing and correcting all patient concerns. For that reason, we have reached out and left a message with our call back information or you can contact us at myeyedr.com/patientrelations. We look forward to hearing from you soon. -Ryann

Focus Eyecare Center, part of MyEyeDr.: what do users think?

P A: Love this practice for both routine eye care as well as potential urgent needs. Dr. Farr takes the time to understand your concerns and explains any available options. The entire staff are flexible, patient and kind. Highly recommend this optometrist office!

Norman Hess: My visit was efficient and timely. Charmaine was excellent as always, and quickly corrected the problem I had with my eyeglasses. She is not only personable and a delight to work with, but also very skilled and experienced with her work. I highly recommend her !!!

Ying Yodsawadi: Everything was great, except the 2 visits for annual check up, which should be 100% covered by the insurance, but I got charged for service without being informed in advanced. Since it was an annual check up so I was not expecting to pay out of pocket. And I don't mind paying really, if I was told before hand. It happened twice so maybe this something that they don't do. So be sure to ask what they are going to perform to you and what is not covered by your insurance.
Response: Hi, Ying Yodsawadi. Thank you for your honest rating, We would love to learn how we could have made your experience into a 5-star experience. Please reach out at www.myeyedr.com/patientrelations so we may connect. We are looking forward to connecting with you.

matt colvin: Vision Source has been my go to for years. The doctors are great and always thorough about explaining your imaging to you, the rest is the staff always kind and welcoming. Hands down the best eye care office I’ve ever been to.

Jokebed Morinvil: Dr. Dalia Elkassabany and the eye tech were incredibly helpful. This was my first contact lens exam and they walked me thru the process, offered helpful advice and were patient during the instructional insert and removal process. Highly recommend!
Response: Hi, Jokebed! Thank you for recommending us! We’re glad we made your experience with us a great one and will be happy to help you again soon.

Elisa E Hancock: They are well organized, efficient and professional, I highly recommend their office to anyone looking for an Optometry appointment. I have been a patient for over q0 years and though the Doctors have changed, retired, the dedication to their patients has only grown.
Response: Hi, Elisa! Thank you for recommending us! We’re glad we made your experience with us a great one and will look forward to continuing with you on your vision wellness journey for many visits to come!

Dan Garrett: I’ve been going to Vision Source for many years. The staff is very friendly, prompt and professional. The doctors are very knowledgeable and their procedures and software are very detailed. I have bought two different eyeglass prescriptions from them and they take the time to work with you to fine the best I wear. They do not pressure you and work with you to find the best style and brand for your particular need. I chose this Eye doctor because they are only two blocks from where I work in downtown Washington DC but I would certainly drive an hour One way from my home to keep them as my eye doctor. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for quality Eye care.
Response: Thank you Dan!

Ashley Craig: Always a pleasure coming to Vision Source DC Focus Eyecare Center. Staff are amazing and they do a great job making sure you are comfortable. Facility is also always spotless!

Keekee Woods: Vision Source DC is awesome. I have been going there for my annual eye exam for years. A couple of co-workers recommended them. Now, I drive from upper Montgomery county to continue to see Dr. Garr. But another good thing about them, even if I have a question between my yearly visit, Dr Garr calls me back personally to answer my question. She is honest, cares about my eye health and is not trying to sell me on things I don’t need. Love them.

TheWayToTheCross Info: I receive excellent services at Vision Source DC Focus Eye Care Center. I have been a patient there for over 30 years and their professionalism, customer care services as well the prescribed (medical) patient optometry treatment has proven to be the best oppose to other Eye Care Centers I have visited in past years. I highly recommend their services! I have found them to be one in a million! A special thanks to Rex for such professional and expert customer care! Thanks to all of you at Vision Care, you make visiting a pleasure!
