Dr. Henry J. Kaminski, MD: what do users think?

Tim Lasher: This doctor is fantastic at diagnosing Myasthenia Gravis and that’s where it stops. Following up on phone calls, while a patient is in a MG crisis could be days. Prescription refills forget it, could take weeks. Phone side manner after waiting a week “okay what’s the problem” who talks to a patient like that. My mother-in-law was dying from this dreaded disease, and I found Dr. Kaminiski through the MG foundation and research studies. My suggestion find another doctor through the MG Foundation. So sad, he’s brilliant and incredible in his field, but it ends there.

The Neurology Center K Street: what do users think?

shermise21: first appt with Dr. Herzfeld was soothing and comfortable. With many questions and concerns, Dr. Herzfeld made me felt welcomed and answered every single thing. On the patient portal, she responds quickly and have the staff to call you back immediately if any concerns. My favorite part of the appt was the doctor checking my bones. I felt like a kid all over again. Fabulous services and very knowledgeable. The front desk was very professional & quick even though I arrived early. Everyone was masked up properly for covid. Oh and sweet Erica was amazing, she is very patience and didn’t make me feel like she was rushing me to check out. Gave me so much information and did not miss anything far as instructions. See you guys soon.

L B: This is not in reference to the physicians. However, it takes 30-40 minutes of being on hold to speak to a representative to schedule each time I call. Additionally, a female member of the phone staff was exceedingly condescending and rude. I do not expect this when calling to schedule an appointment particularly as patients that are coming in for neurological consultations are generally not feeling well and to be spoken to in a condescending and rude manner when trying to schedule is not ok.

Howard University Hospital | Neurology: what do users think?

Triple H: I wasted my precious time going to this place honestly, am not sure what was the point of me staying there after i noticed that the doctor was just too focused on asking about what other doctors opinions were and so on and so forth with no proper explanation for what would be the cause of my pain(i even have explained in details of what procedures were done and what and which type of pain i am experiencing), after 4 hours of being there (2 hours prior to my appointment) i was sent home with no proper advice or treatment for my excruciating headache and facial pain that i suffer from after multiple sinus procedures. Truly a waste of time.

Latimer Neurology Center: what do users think?

Stephanie & Barry McHugh: We have been with this practice for over eight years. It has been a long journey. Dr. Latimer was willing to fight for the best treatment for my boys with a disease that was not being recognized. I have two happy and mostly healthy boys and without Dr. Latimer I am not sure my oldest would still be alive. We will be forever grateful and we love everyone in her office. The things I have watched them have to handle and the sacrifices I have seen them make are well beyond what is typical. Keep your records in order and be an advocate just like anywhere else. No, insurance does not cover much and it has been worth every penny!

Marcia E Gravatt: This place is insane! It is also reserved for rich people only!!! We first went to Dr. Latimer when my 18 year old was in 1st grade. She was ok then, but I had to stop taking my daughter to the appointments because she ALWAYS ran ridiculously late and had the smallest waiting room of any doctor. I just became so angry with how poorly her practice was run that I could not talk much to her when we finally got back to see her. In a moment of extreme poor judgment, I called her practice recently about my younger daughter. This is when I realized Dr. Latimer was not someone who I wanted to give my business to. The charge for a patient’s first session is $1200, which her office takes out of your account 3 weeks BEFORE you see her. That’s her version of “self pay!” How ridiculous is that? You have to pay her BEFORE you even receive her services. That amounts to a short term loan. Screw this practice!

The GW Medical Faculty Associates: Dr. Perry Richardson, MD: what do users think?

Mark Williamson: GW Medical Faculty Associates is by far the worst place to go for neurological medical care. The support staff is so bad and it is impossible to communicate with the doctors via telephone, email, or portal. The neurologist’s assistants will never return calls, are extremely unfriendly, and treat all patients with contempt. But even the assistants that don’t do their jobs are friendlier than the front desk. The only way to communicate with a doctor is through a portal that was recently shut down. They claim to have a new system but existing patients have not been added to that system. Poor management comes from the top and no place is as badly managed as GW MFA Neurology.

Natalie Jackson: Avoid neuro

National Capital Neurosurgery: what do users think?

Richard Hayman: I met Dr. Levine in 2000. He has operated on me twice and twice on my wife. I found Dr. Levine to be very friendly and caring with great skills. Dr. Levine teamed up with Dr. Rhee to perform a 9 level spinal fusion. My life is very normal now. I replaced golfing with walking. Many friends have taken my recommendations for NCN and have been very happy with both their care and results.

Angela Luvara: If I could give Dr. Rhee zero stars, I would. I drive four hours round trip to be told that my pain, which presents exactly as nerve pain does, is not caused by my bulging disc that is pushing on my nerves. I have never in my life had a doctor told me that don’t know what’s causing my pain without also offering me next steps to figure out what is causing it. He told me to “keep doing what I’m doing” (after having told him how everything I’ve tried has not helped the pain at all) and after I pressed him further, told me to lose weight (after I told him I cannot do any form of exercise without pain). So, definitely don’t expect a doctor who will work to actually make you feel better, and definitely don’t go to him if you’re fat. I’m not sure why or how he practices medicine, but he’s surely not motivated by a desire to make people feel better.

Washington Medical Group, PC: what do users think?

Jamie Vardy: I have a constant issue in my spinal cord for a year now. The never-ending work stress and prolonged working hours every day have made the tension in my daily life affect the spinal cord. Hence, now even when I’m taking medicines and constant treatment, the spinal cord pain didn’t; seem to go away anytime soon. It was a huge issue for me since I know how this issue can lead to bigger health problems. But, since I can’t quit my job or take complete bed rest, I decided to shift to my doctor. This time, I went to the Washington Medical Group, P.C., as I knew them earlier from my mother’s treatment days. Undoubtedly, they were again reliable decisions for me since I needed friendly support and consultation at this time. Thanks to the amazing professionals there, I can now say that the never-ending spinal cord pain and the constant issue has now been resolved. I am healthy and happy. Thank you.

Richard Ben: My father has been a drug addict for 12 years. However, it’s been five years since my father went for rehabilitation and decided to let go of this habit for his family. Now that it’s been a while to that tough time, I thought things would be better and safer for my father. Yet, the situation got tough when my father’s health started deteriorating this year. His body got weaker, and he faced the psychological trauma of not being able to get better. No doctor seemed to help us much until we decided to consider the Washington Medical Group, P.C. Since they are located near our home, we could keep an eye on how my father’s doing. Amazingly, every time my family and I visited my father, he seemed to be even better than earlier. Now that he’s back, I owe to these people; they’re friendly services and amazing treatment; thank you.

Barb Z: I would give a zero if that were possible. Dr Jay Rhee not only lacks "bedside manner", he is completely devoid of manners, professionalism, or a willingness to communicate with his patients, who he treats with something bordering on contempt. He responds to questions with the defiant arrogance of someone who is protecting a sub standard skill set. Completely unacceptable.

Mary Washington Neurology: what do users think?

James Baker: My initial appointment was great, however since then everytime I call I get a voicemail and no response. When I do get someone they say they will have the right person call me back and still no response. I gave them paperwork with a deadline of 2 weeks and waited for the documents. They never filled them out and never gave me an update. The paperwork has now expired and my time is wasted.

Kayla Wiseman: BEWARE. I was double billed in my last appointment. I was initially billed my regular co-payment for my Botox injection. I then received a second bill in the mail for another co-payment, when I called to explain I already paid this in-house, I was told it is an "office visit fee" for the doctor simply discussing my medications during the injection. I was also told, via the billing department that I, as a patient, will not know if I am being charged this fee until AFTER I leave the office and the doctor decides if he wants to charge an office fee or not. This is completly UNETHICAL, especially as someone who has worked in the medical field for years and understands that patients have a right to know fully upfront what they are being billed for. It is very obvious that this practice does not respect their patients because in addition, my prescriptions are never filled in a timely manner and usually require multiple phone calls. I wished ZERO stars was an option.
