Dr. Henry J. Kaminski, MD: what do users think?

Tim Lasher: This doctor is fantastic at diagnosing Myasthenia Gravis and that’s where it stops. Following up on phone calls, while a patient is in a MG crisis could be days. Prescription refills forget it, could take weeks. Phone side manner after waiting a week “okay what’s the problem” who talks to a patient like that. My mother-in-law was dying from this dreaded disease, and I found Dr. Kaminiski through the MG foundation and research studies. My suggestion find another doctor through the MG Foundation. So sad, he’s brilliant and incredible in his field, but it ends there.

Philip D. Pulaski, MD: what do users think?

Keturah Stroy: Dr. Pulaski was amazing. My husband is a multiple stroke survivor and we have visited several neurologist to address his issues. Dr. Pulaski was thorough and had great bedside manner. He was patient, understanding and very knowledgeable. My issue is with the front office receptionist. I witnessed firsthand how she spoke to patients checking in and her poor attitude. I was also a victim of her carelessness when she called my husband to inquire about a bill, but was incapable of providing adequate rationale as to why we owed additional money. I I would strongly recommend the doctor. I also recommend that the office reconsider who they hire as the first point of contact to represent their practice in person and telephonically.

Lisa Morenoff: Dr Pulaski is knowledgeable, kind, asks good questions, and listens to the answers. The office, for in-person visits, is clean, welcoming, and runs smoothly. I also appreciate the telehealth option for appointments.
Response: We’re so glad you had a great experience!

Lee Stroy: I have a history of multiple strokes and I have seen numerous neurologist across the DMV. As an Ambassador for the American Heart and stroke associations. I’m was truly taken aback by the insensitive manner of the front desk receptionist. She was rude, impatient, and her tone was unsettling. Dealing with stroke survivors or anyone with traumatic brain injury the staff falls short. As far as Dr. Pulaski goes he was extremely knowledgeable kind and respectful. As a Neurologist he's second to none.

Simeon Esprit: I saw him for terrible migraines I was experiencing. I feel like he over prescribed me a number of very strong medications. I didn't know any better so I took it as prescribed and experienced major withdrawals and side effects for months. I wasn't made aware of it and everything I saw online recommended tapering off the medication. It's one of the few times where I would have been better served taking the advice of a blogger online over my own doctor. What's worse is I tried calling and reaching out on several occasions and he has never got back to me. Whenever other doctors viewed my medical records for covid tests, check ups etc, they've all responded with shock when they see what I was prescribed and what for. It also doesn't help that my prescriptions were fairly pricey for a 30 day dosage count. It all made me very suspicious and question his diagnosis and what he prescribed.

John Aravosis: Very nice and professional, friendly and helpful, staff — something you don’t always get in DC doctors offices. Would definitely recommend
Response: As a practice we always aim to provide the best care possible to patients. We love to hear about folks that have had a positive experience. Thank you for your review!

Mimi Honey: I have done MRI and EMG twice with other doctors, Dr. Pulaski wants his own MRI with his friend Dr in Bethesda MD and EMG at his clinic. He said to me” you went to many doctors before, what you want me to do” I have pain for few years in my hip and barley can walk and I was crying from this pain when he saw me at the clinic. The result from MRI and EMG was similar to the previous and he didn’t know what cause this pain because no findings. He charged me $355 for EMG with my insurance. His team confirmed it want be high Amount. Yes right!!!! It’s all about the money. I went somewhere else and the doctor told me that I have sciatica without showing him the reports. This is supposed to be Dr. Pulaski specialty. He couldn’t figure out what is wrong with me after charging me and the insurance and fail to diagnose. On top of that he send the bill to collections to hurt my credit. I don’t recommend this doctor to anyone.

John Donnelly: Dr Pulaski was thorough and compassionate. I can’t imagine a better experience.
Response: As a practice we always aim to provide the best care possible to patients. We love to hear about folks that have had a positive experience. Thank you for your review!

Amber W: Dr. Pulaski is a brilliant man. He listens, and he makes sure that your plan of treatment is suited to your lifestyle, as well as addressing your wellness issues. I am very glad I found him! 5 stars!

Johnna French: He does not like children, so if you visit make sure you have a sitter. Even though, my child was pretty mild mannered during my visit, he was clearly uncomfortable and irritated that I had brought my 4 mth old to the appointment. Didn't know kids were against the rules, this was not mentioned when I made my appointment. UPDATED: Please see the attached letter that was sent after writing a review about Dr. Pulaski. They do not like feedback that is not favorable to their business.

Bryce Walker: Definitely not going here. Set up an Appointment for a Wednesday and they put me down for a Tuesday. When I went to reschedule my Wednesday appt, I learned that they had scheduled me for Tuesday and that I would pay a $100 cancellation fee. Now I have to deal with that. I am sure Dr. Pulaski is a good doctor, but the staff and policies are rigid and I will fight to not pay that stupid cancellation fee.

The Neurology Center K Street: what do users think?

Fabiola R. Delgado: Going to any doctor's office can be intimidating, even scary when it's a brain doctor! But The Neurology Center staff made me feel very comfortable and safe since before I arrived. Confirmation of my appointment and reminders via email and text were super helpful, and the front line staff is dedicated, professional, patient, and considerate. They went over many details with me before and after my appointment: from assistance with my forms and registering me in their health portal, to carefully explaining the schedule and particulars of my MRI referral. Dr. Rhani Herzfeld is not only accomplished and thorough with her examination, but she's very congenial which makes one feel at ease. She cares about her patients and is a great communicator, making sure whatever needs to be done is efficient and easy for the patient; she even asked for my imaging tests to get done sooner to fit my calendar. Super helpful staff, and good energy!

Ashton Parker: Dr Herzfeld is one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen! She never makes me feel rushed, is always kind and caring. She was the first and only doctor to help me out of a 6 mth cycle of constant pain. I really just can’t say enough good things about her. I wish there were more neurologist like her in the world!

Portia Strahan: Doctors are okay. But office staff is rude, incompetent, and unprofessional. I've been waiting for a prior authorization for days, there staff says it was sent when it wasn't. Causing me to suffer though migraines for days while they fax over something that could be a simple phone call. There is no consideration given to the pain which I was going through and a sense of urgency. Go to another office.
Response: Hello Portia, We are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations. If you encounter a similar problem in the future please call our Director of Operations directly at 301562-7200.

poonam gupta: The Neurology center’s appointment line is messed up. Once I called and was 22st on the line!! The patient portal should put clear visit notes and test results.I have been also going to John’s Hopkins and commend their patient my chart. The results of tests and physician’s notes are put within 2 business days. Here you have to call to find out results or request doctor to provide information. Johns Hopkins portal is also accessible to a no of hospitals so for second opinion you don’t need to carry medical records. Unlike this center where I had to request my medical records. Their doctors are busy and you may not get a in person appointment for 6-8 weeks.

shermise21: first appt with Dr. Herzfeld was soothing and comfortable. With many questions and concerns, Dr. Herzfeld made me felt welcomed and answered every single thing. On the patient portal, she responds quickly and have the staff to call you back immediately if any concerns. My favorite part of the appt was the doctor checking my bones. I felt like a kid all over again. Fabulous services and very knowledgeable. The front desk was very professional & quick even though I arrived early. Everyone was masked up properly for covid. Oh and sweet Erica was amazing, she is very patience and didn’t make me feel like she was rushing me to check out. Gave me so much information and did not miss anything far as instructions. See you guys soon.

Spenser Thompson: I’ve never written a review before, but I feel compelled to after my excellent experience here. Dr Pulaski was fantastic - he explained everything very clearly and was very caring. Additionally, the staff are wonderful (Tammy in particular). They’ve gone above and beyond to ensure a very smooth client experience. All around this is a fantastic practice and I would recommend them to anyone in need of a Neurologist.
Response: Your review is greatly appreciated! Thank you, and best of health to you!

Gxf Hkj: One receptionist is extraordinary and the other is horrific! I first spoke to the excellent one, she was kind and understanding. I then spoke to the other one who seemed to almost WANT to pick an argument with me. How does she still work there? If you do book an appointment there just hope you get a hold of the kind receptionist.

Jacqueline Ames: Front desk staff were pleasant and helped me immediately. Dr Hertfeld walked out to get me and the wait time was very quick. She even offered to help with the forms I had to fill out. Great doctor, attentive listener, very direct(which I love)and came up with a game plan to ensure we covered all bases. She was very informative as well. Checking out was as good an experience as checking in! Definitely recommend this practice!

L B: This is not in reference to the physicians. However, it takes 30-40 minutes of being on hold to speak to a representative to schedule each time I call. Additionally, a female member of the phone staff was exceedingly condescending and rude. I do not expect this when calling to schedule an appointment particularly as patients that are coming in for neurological consultations are generally not feeling well and to be spoken to in a condescending and rude manner when trying to schedule is not ok.

tatyana v: I didn't have a good experience with the receptionist. She is not very attentive and confuses information provided. She was not paying attention to our phone conversation and left me on wait for a long time. I had to spell my name and my address several times since she was distracted. Then she told me if I didn't provide my insurance information, she couldn't book an appointment. I didn't have my insurance information at the time, and found her not very customer friendly. frustrating experience.

Dr. Psteven Macedo, MD: what do users think?

Susan Dyer: Dr. Macedo is exceptionally knowledgeable. After unsuccessful years with many other doctors, he truly changed and saved my life. His staff is gracious and always willing to help, as well.

Dawn Hoover: I couldn't get in! Dr. Macedo said I was a perfect candidate for treatment, but I couldn't get through to schedule an appointment after the initial consultation. No one would return my call including the office manager. Someone called me back and said my insurance declined treatment, but when I called the insurance, they said no claim was filed. The insurance called the office (and actually got through) and they didn't know who called me with the false information. Three months after the consult I am throwing in the towel. Disappointed beyond words.

Willy: Too bad we can't put zero stars! As many others have mentioned, this office is a disaster. I strongly recommend you Google the Washington Post article on him from 2000. Dr. Macedo prescribed a serious drug for my wife and said he would need to see her in 2 weeks to re-evaluate. They then refused to see her because they said she "lied" when she completed her intake forms, not saying her visit was related to litigation. My wife never lied, in fact she told them she was in an accident that is in litigation, but did not think her current condition (white hands, possible Reynaulds) had anything to do with the accident, so they told her to put "no" on the form. They were just mad they had to go through our insurance were they get paid way less than had we had to pay outside of insurance for a litigation review. We never asked for them to do anything in regards to our litigation, my wife just wanted medical treatment, which apparently they don't provide. However, if you are looking to be able to pay someone to write you a letter for a legal case, this might by your man. They don't accept credit cards, only cash, money order, or certified checks, which should tell you something about their business.

Art Hahn: One of the most qualified doctors I have been to. Dr. Macedo is comprehensive in his approach, applying expertise to develop the best care for my specific needs.

Marcelo von glehn: Dr.Macedo has by far been one of the best Doctors I've dealt with.

Howard University Hospital | Neurology: what do users think?

Triple H: I wasted my precious time going to this place honestly, am not sure what was the point of me staying there after i noticed that the doctor was just too focused on asking about what other doctors opinions were and so on and so forth with no proper explanation for what would be the cause of my pain(i even have explained in details of what procedures were done and what and which type of pain i am experiencing), after 4 hours of being there (2 hours prior to my appointment) i was sent home with no proper advice or treatment for my excruciating headache and facial pain that i suffer from after multiple sinus procedures. Truly a waste of time.

annette brent: Will not return to this hospital. My physician was mr.ware. Went for a second opinion, regarding an ongoing arm pain. Physician wanted to rely on what the other physician diagnosis.Just questioning i stopped him to ask i am coming here for a second opinion not relying on there diagnosis since it's been 2yrs of treatment with no progression just more medicine. He plagiarized just relied on the information was given from previous physician STAY AWAY FROM HOWARD UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Daphne Labor Sesay: My son has been going there since he was a baby, my son is now 19yrs old, and I won't trade Dr. Trough for no other MD.

Yvonne Keller: One of the best doctors I've ever seen. I was referred by my primary care doctor. The level of care and professionalism impressed me to the point I wanted Dr. Moore to treat my elderly mother who is losing short term memory. Dr. Moore gave me hope in telling me tried and true facts. He is an awesome doctor who explains everything and has the spirit of an exceptional doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Moore at the Neurology Center at Providence in Washington DC. Also the staff are very professional as well.

Dr. Robert Kang Shin, MD: what do users think?

Alexis Edwards: The staff is friendly and the office is clean. When I visited, Dr. Shin was great and demonstrated his vast knowledge of MS. I highly recommend him if you are having neurological symptoms because he genuinely cares for his patients. By the end of my appointment, I had a better understanding of my condition.

Britt P: Recently I went to Dr. Shin to check my eyes because he diagnosed me with Pseudotumor cerebri back in 2018. I went back to him cause my symptoms were in full force again & I also had new symptoms & was worried about my eyesight. He was rude, very mean & dismissive. He basically tried to make me feel stupid for coming. I won’t be back. Go to someone who knows patient care 101 & treats patients like actual human beings. That way you won’t be disrespected.

Gin Tonic: Dr. Shin is an excellent physician and neurologist. He is kind, compassionate, thorough and keeps me in my best health. I can't say enough good things about him.

Ced Moore: Great Doctor! Kind. Great listener. And breaks things down where anyone can understand it!

Maiesha Artis: Dr.Shin is an amazing Doctor he was the only doctor who treated and controlled my MS when other doctors said it was all in my head. He is God sent!!

Sharman Webb: Wonderful wonderful Dr. I can't say enough about him. He takes his time to listen and it's never a rushed appointment. I love him and would not see anyone else.

Latimer Neurology Center: what do users think?

Chris Moore: Dr. Latimer and her nurse's work miracles. I was misdiagnosed for the last 10 years. Dr. Latimer thought she could treat me just from hearing family history from a relative. After doing blood work she diagnosed me and set up a plan to remedy the problem. Dr. Latimer is at the forefront of new medicine and procedures. You can not go wrong here. I read previous reviews about issues other people had but we haven't experienced anything like that. They were very professional and helpful.
Response: Thanks Chris for your great review.!

Stephanie & Barry McHugh: We have been with this practice for over eight years. It has been a long journey. Dr. Latimer was willing to fight for the best treatment for my boys with a disease that was not being recognized. I have two happy and mostly healthy boys and without Dr. Latimer I am not sure my oldest would still be alive. We will be forever grateful and we love everyone in her office. The things I have watched them have to handle and the sacrifices I have seen them make are well beyond what is typical. Keep your records in order and be an advocate just like anywhere else. No, insurance does not cover much and it has been worth every penny!
Response: Thank you for your appreciative review!

Holly Sullivan: I can honestly say I would not be alive today if I had not been fortunate enough to have met Dr. Latimer. I have been a patient of Dr. Latimer's for 14 years on and off. I first went to see her after being paralyzed and left with horrific, unimaginable nerve pain due to a surgical error at Johns Hopkins. I was 18 years old and every specialist we had see before her told my family and I that there was no hope and I would be on high doses of the most powerful opiates for the rest of my life. It was very devastating. Dr. Latimer listened to me, she listed to my family. She decided she would take on my pain management herself. That meant seeing her at least once a month, often times more. She did everything she could to help me from researching different medications, to Botox injections, to sending me to other specialists to get their opinion, she never once gave up. When I started to have pain in my bones, losing my hair, and a host of other debilitating sysptoms she ran every test she could think of to try and figure out what was wrong. She eventually did and gave me, to this day, one of the best Christmas presents I have ever received when she called me on Christmas Eve night. She had gotten another round of my blood work back showing my vitamin D levels were non existent. She didn't just worry about my physical health but my mental health as well. She always made sure I was doing ok and if she thought I wasn't she would make sure I got help. I can walk now, I no longer have to take 25 different medications a day for pain, no longer bound to my bed, sedated by pain medicine. I have my life back, I'm a para athlete, a wife and a mom to 4 wonderful fur babies. None of this would have been possible without Dr. Latimer and her great staff. I could go on and on about Dr. Latimer but I'll just leave you with this. Dr. Latimer cares, she works hard to help her patients. Is she a tough, blunt person, yes. Does she make you wait for at least an hour for your appointment, yes. She takes her time with each patient, which is what you want. I have been sick my whole life, have a complex medical history and have seen hundreds of doctors in my lifetime, she is one of the best. She is an amazing doctor and if you are someone at the end of your rope and are feeling like no doctor is listening to you she is the the person you want. Thank you, Dr. Latimer and Staff.
Response: Thank you Holly. This is truly a feel good story. We are so grateful for your review.

Seth Ingall: We first sought consultation with Dr. Latimer 15 years ago when our 10 year old daughter suddenly started behaving quite differently. Dr. Latimer quickly diagnosed the condition, and initiated treatment which eliminated the symptoms. A couple of years later, Dr. Latimer helped us through a relapse. Now 14 years later, and with my daughter as a 24 year old high functioning adult in NYC and with another rapid onset relapse of auto immune encephalitis, Dr. Latimer was the only physician to provide an accurate diagnosis, treatment plan, and support to help us navigate the problems. She is an amazing lady, and her staff really helped us through some very tough times. Minda, Tristan, Andrea, Brenda and Dr. Latimer are all very compassionate care givers, focused on helping patients.

Vickie Bonawitz: After 20 years of misdiagnosis and dismissive behaviors from doctors and multiple hospitals, Dr. Latimer did a thorough history, examined my daughter's medical records and did a thorough neurological exam, which gave us the answers to her cognitive regression and involuntary movements. We have a long way to go, but without Dr. Latimer's diagnosis and treatment, I think my daughter's mind would have been completely destroyed. Dr. Latimer is smart and caring. We need more like her in the field of medicine.

Marcia E Gravatt: This place is insane! It is also reserved for rich people only!!! We first went to Dr. Latimer when my 18 year old was in 1st grade. She was ok then, but I had to stop taking my daughter to the appointments because she ALWAYS ran ridiculously late and had the smallest waiting room of any doctor. I just became so angry with how poorly her practice was run that I could not talk much to her when we finally got back to see her. In a moment of extreme poor judgment, I called her practice recently about my younger daughter. This is when I realized Dr. Latimer was not someone who I wanted to give my business to. The charge for a patient’s first session is $1200, which her office takes out of your account 3 weeks BEFORE you see her. That’s her version of “self pay!” How ridiculous is that? You have to pay her BEFORE you even receive her services. That amounts to a short term loan. Screw this practice!

John Young: We took our severely autistic daughter to Dr. Latimer hoping she could help us. She kept my wife, daughter and I waiting for 2 hours past our appointment time which agitated me since our daughter has a hard time being calm for that long in a new environment and I had a work schedule packed with clients that day. Even though Dr. Latimer never spoke a single word to me or met me (I had to leave before the exam) she took my agitation and the fact that my daughter had a rash on her bottom to indicate that I must be an unfit father and doing harm to our child. She called my wife after our exam to tell her she notified the police and child protective services. My wife and I were incredulous. Anyone that knows us knows our moral character and how loving and caring we are to our daughter. We do and try everything to help her and that's what led us to Dr. Latimer's office in the first place. Her baseless charges put us through the ringer for the next 24 hours which included having to drop everything in our lives and go immediately to Shady Grove hospital for an independent exam. Several hospital staff and physicians interviewed us and examined our daughter. Suffice to say, the physician overseeing the exam said there was absolutely no signs of abuse and told us "God bless you for all you do for your child." Having a severely autistic child is an every day challenge. We didn't need another 'fire drill' or unhelpful person to make are already hectic lives worse. How she jumped from agitation over a late appointment to potential child abuse is beyond me but it makes me question her judgement as a physician--especially when the Shady Grove child abuse specialist determined in less than 5 minutes that everything was ok. I will also mention that the rash on our child's bottom turned out to be a variation of strep--as confirmed by another competent physician. My wife told me later that Dr. Latimer didn't even use gloves when examining our daughter. Coming from a background in the pharmaceutical industry I've met all manner of physicians--some good some bad. I'll let this review speak for itself about which category I would file Dr. Latimer under.

Belina Acenas: We're from the West Coast and flew all the way to DC last month to see Dr L to try and get help for our 18 year old, autistic, low verbal son. After brief introductions, she dove right into our son's medical and developmental history, physically examined him and came up with an initial treatment plan. We're impressed with her knowledge about PANS/PANDAS and feel fortunate to have an opportunity to work with her and her compassionate office staff. We feel we went to the right place and are hopeful that our son will soon be on the road to recovery.
    Response: Thank You!

Kevin Thomas: My experience with Dr. Latimer has been nothing short of exceptional. I suffered severe head trauma and as a consequence I lost complete feeling in the left side of my skull and have experienced migraines, of which, I’ve never had before. Her staff is always welcoming and will put a smile on your face, no matter how upset or down you may be feeling. I will continue to see Dr. Latimer as long as needed. She and her staff are not only brilliant, but they will give you the hard answers that some doctors will not. They do not “beat around the bush”. I would reccomend Dr. Latimer to anyone seeking a neurologist.

Kris M.: PLEASE make sure you do your research on this place, it’s absolutely awful. The office staff is a mess, they are afraid of the doctor and ask you to lie. The doctor is ALWAYS LATE and has ZERO AND I MEAN ZERO bedside manner. They charge you $1200 before you realize any of this. The nurse is clueless. We had no reason (we later learned) to put my daughter on meds yet this “amazing” doctor put her on two meds without any blood tests. My daughter suffered. We suffered. THE DOCTOR COULD HAVE CARED LESS. In fact she mocked me on one of my emergency phone calls to her. I have never felt so dismissed, my daughter needed help and she did nothing. Didn’t return calls. Didn’t return texts. Never heard from her or anyone in the office again. We had a follow up appointment scheduled and the office manager asked me to lie on the day of the appointment so “no one would get in trouble”. FOLKS YOU HAVE OTHER CHOICES. I absolutely cannot recommend this office or this doctor. She was 2 hours late for our appointment and we were the FIRST appointment of the day. Barely an apology. The nurse made snarky comments about the patients she was treating to the office staff, I overheard them and she looked at me and smirked. This place is so unprofessional, so disorganized. The doctor doesn’t even give you her full attention at your appointment but you can bet your bottom dollar she takes your money without blinking an eye. I can only pray her laziness and lack of testing didn’t damage my daughter in the long run. Go see Dr T in Ramsey NJ, that’s our new doctor and they have seen countless patients who originally started here and had to have the damage undone. This place is honestly TERRIFYING. Run the other way, and run fast.
Response: Sorry to hear of your reported experience. We are unable to locate you as a patient. Please give us a call to discuss further how we can help you.

The GW Medical Faculty Associates: Dr. Perry Richardson, MD: what do users think?

Mark Williamson: GW Medical Faculty Associates is by far the worst place to go for neurological medical care. The support staff is so bad and it is impossible to communicate with the doctors via telephone, email, or portal. The neurologist’s assistants will never return calls, are extremely unfriendly, and treat all patients with contempt. But even the assistants that don’t do their jobs are friendlier than the front desk. The only way to communicate with a doctor is through a portal that was recently shut down. They claim to have a new system but existing patients have not been added to that system. Poor management comes from the top and no place is as badly managed as GW MFA Neurology.

    Natalie Jackson: Avoid neuro

    Christopher Nowell: Terrible support staff.

Richard Hayman: I met Dr. Levine in 2000. He has operated on me twice and twice on my wife. I found Dr. Levine to be very friendly and caring with great skills. Dr. Levine teamed up with Dr. Rhee to perform a 9 level spinal fusion. My life is very normal now. I replaced golfing with walking. Many friends have taken my recommendations for NCN and have been very happy with both their care and results.
Response: Thank you so much for the kind words... We try to treat our patients like members our family.

Bobbie Kaminsky: I strongly believe that I wouldn't have been able to find relief for my severe back pain if I hadn't followed up on a referral from a medical professional to see Dr, Rhee for evaluation and treatment. Pain has been significantly less, and will continue to improve as time goes on. I'm grateful for his compassion and humanity and for his correct diagnoses and surgical acumen.

Angela Luvara: If I could give Dr. Rhee zero stars, I would. I drive four hours round trip to be told that my pain, which presents exactly as nerve pain does, is not caused by my bulging disc that is pushing on my nerves. I have never in my life had a doctor told me that don’t know what’s causing my pain without also offering me next steps to figure out what is causing it. He told me to “keep doing what I’m doing” (after having told him how everything I’ve tried has not helped the pain at all) and after I pressed him further, told me to lose weight (after I told him I cannot do any form of exercise without pain). So, definitely don’t expect a doctor who will work to actually make you feel better, and definitely don’t go to him if you’re fat. I’m not sure why or how he practices medicine, but he’s surely not motivated by a desire to make people feel better.

Dee Dee Dalton: Got a referral to see Dr Rhee. Called every day for a week. Talked to machines. Talked to a human once. The human must still be searching for my referral in her mountain of faxes. Move on, get referred to a different practice. Edit...got a return call right after posting. Coincidence? "We have been experiencing troubles with our lines." Sure. Problem is that good doctors won't even know how patients are being mishandled by back office staff. Enjoy Privia. 1 star bc zero was not an option.

    C. Davis: Wondering if this is the practice for you? It is. I was incredibly impressed by everyone from the reception team to the providers. Dr. Levine was thorough, honest, and caring. He addressed all of my concerns and came up with a plan that really suits me and my situation. I feel hopeful for the first time since I was injured. Thank you so much - your excellence was noted.
Response: Thank you for having confidence in us.

Dale Akstin: Dr. Jay Rhee is my trusted MD at the NCN practice. He's friendly, informative, and a commensurate professional within his field. Dr. Rhee has both performed, consulted, and referred me on a number of ailments from an s1-L5 fusion, to addressing spinal stenosis concerns, to planning and preparing for both future victories and challenges alike. I cannot speak highly enough about not only Dr. Rhee's technical prowess, but his sincerity, integrity, and care for his patients. I've seldom if ever encountered a general practitioner, let alone surgeon of his caliber who puts his patients first, second, and third. We are grateful and thankful to have Dr. Rhee looking over us!

Cindy Brown: During my consult visit I felt the doctor had viewed my images and had a good grasp of what I was dealing with. I had planned on a 2nd consult but have decided not to do that and go with the plans discussed with Dr. Levine.
Response: Thank you and we look forward to taking care of you.

Jelly Bean: Not such a great experience and heard doesn’t treat his employees right…

Washington Medical Group, PC: what do users think?

Senay Alemayehu: Must start off by saying this review has nothing to do with the doctors and how they practice. It’s the managers and billing office that will kill you. I must say this office will find any reason to charge you. I had an appointment and attempted to cancel. The appointment costed 35 but canceling costs 200. I tried to cancel 48 hours prior but they do not answer the phone. And they make it impossible to reach out to cancel since they don’t answer the phone. On top of that they will force you to sign a waiver stating you will pay the 200 within the month before continuing to ur new appointment. Then since I didn’t want to sign they canceled the other appointment and charged ankther 200 for missing that appointment. So in total they added 400 easy from just fees. It should be only 30 for the co pay. On top of that they made up a covid test requirement which is an additional 45(even if you have a test at home) And if you don’t have a (k95 no budge) mask they will happily charge you 10 dollars for it. All in all the service should be easy and affordable. But watch out for fees, they make more money from fees then the actual service. I wish I can keep going back but my pockets are starting to hurt. And it’s not worth it. Just hate going to new doctors.

Jamie Vardy: I have a constant issue in my spinal cord for a year now. The never-ending work stress and prolonged working hours every day have made the tension in my daily life affect the spinal cord. Hence, now even when I’m taking medicines and constant treatment, the spinal cord pain didn’t; seem to go away anytime soon. It was a huge issue for me since I know how this issue can lead to bigger health problems. But, since I can’t quit my job or take complete bed rest, I decided to shift to my doctor. This time, I went to the Washington Medical Group, P.C., as I knew them earlier from my mother’s treatment days. Undoubtedly, they were again reliable decisions for me since I needed friendly support and consultation at this time. Thanks to the amazing professionals there, I can now say that the never-ending spinal cord pain and the constant issue has now been resolved. I am healthy and happy. Thank you.

Thiago Silva: I have been in depression for a long time now since my husband's sudden demise. It was a tough time in the beginning, but it felt like things may get better soon. However, after a few years, my depression didn't leave me, making it harder for me to get back to a normal life. That's when my brother decided to take me to a medical professional. Thankfully, he chose Washington Med Group in Washington D.C. to help me with my psychological issue. While the professionals there gave me the best treatment and therapy, the entire team made sure I was comfortable with their friendly behaviours. It was an amazing experience.

Richard Ben: My father has been a drug addict for 12 years. However, it’s been five years since my father went for rehabilitation and decided to let go of this habit for his family. Now that it’s been a while to that tough time, I thought things would be better and safer for my father. Yet, the situation got tough when my father’s health started deteriorating this year. His body got weaker, and he faced the psychological trauma of not being able to get better. No doctor seemed to help us much until we decided to consider the Washington Medical Group, P.C. Since they are located near our home, we could keep an eye on how my father’s doing. Amazingly, every time my family and I visited my father, he seemed to be even better than earlier. Now that he’s back, I owe to these people; they’re friendly services and amazing treatment; thank you.

jonathan greenberg: It's been a while since I have been dealing with chronic body pain. While at first, I thought that it's because of some over-exertion and the tough work routine I manage, the chronic pain in my body started increasing and became a constant issue for me. Due to this, I wasn't able to perform well at work. I was already familiar with Washington Medical Group, P.C. as it was nearby my apartment in Washington. This time I planned to visit them, and amazingly, I found the staff and health professionals there extremely nice and supportive. From performing my medical tests to analysing my issue, and then treating it with appropriate treatment, everything went so smoothly and conveniently. I feel blessed to have found Washington Medical Group, P.C. at my tough time. They are amazing!

Lauren Kolodkin: Let me start by saying this: in my experience, the practitioners are great. The administrative staff, however, are disorganized, rude, unhelpful, and generally obtuse. If you're looking for a nice, clean, organized place to receive medical or mental health care... DO NOT GO TO WMG.

Sarah Shier: I have been coming to see Dr. Macedo and Hammaker for several years and they have provided outstanding care. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for physicians in this area. The front office, receptionists and other staff are great as well. I have never had any issues with billing, so was surprised/puzzled to see all of the comments about this. Also, if you prefer not to pay via cash or check, you can pay online with a credit card using the instructions on the mailed out invoice.

Brigita Stavreva: This office is not a good medical office. First they require to see you every 6 months, even if nothing is wrong with you and you just need a refill on your prescription. I suspect that they just have this practice to charge my insurance a fee for a visit. The office is run down, with very outdated finishes, small, cramped space and unwelcoming ambiance. Exam rooms are small and outdated. The doctors come and go and I have not had a consistent primary care physician in this office. Lastly, I wrote a check in April of 2015. After a while the WMG sent me a bill for the amount of the check plus $40 - $50 on top of that claiming that my account number could not be located and that's why they could not cash the check and meanwhile will charge me a penalty feel. I talked to my bank - Capital One - which said that they don't see any record of the claim for the check and that most likely someone at the WMG or whomever processes the checks made a mistake or typo when submitting the check. Meanwhile the medical office will not allow me to schedule a new appointment because my billing issue has not been resolved. I've been put on hold, hanged up on and the situation has dragged on since summer. The office said they will not wave the penalty fee, which I don't feel is my fault, since I wrote a check with an intent to pay for my visit. My account has been active for over 10 years and checks have cleared before and after the check I wrote to this medical office. I would give this medical office a zero rating. Look for another place and don't give your money to this sub-par medical entity.

Frank: I am a patient at Washington Medical Group and have been going here since 2009. To be honest, I had issues with scheduling appointments and billing when I first started going (blamed on staff turnover) but I have had no issues since 2009 and am glad I stayed with them. My responses below pertain to those negative posts I have experience with. Filling out forms - I have had no issues with them filling out forms for me and have never been charged. Of course, I had the form with me when I went to see the doctor and it was completed at the same time I was there so I'm not sure why they would charge to complete a form as part of a physical exam. Seems like there is more to the story that wasn't posted. Admin policies - yes, you need to complete insurance forms when you are initially are seen by the clinic and yes, you need to verify the information every 6 months but they print out the COMPLETED insurance forms you filled out at the last 6 month interval and ask you to verify the information. They do not ask you to manually complete the forms again. If you receive insurance coverage through your employer, your insurance carrier can change every year, which is why they verify coverage every 6 months. Paying in cash - yes, they don't accept credit cards but I do get a receipt from the office staff when I do pay in cash, even when I don't ask for one. If you are concerned about not getting a receipt for a cash payment, WRITE A CHECK! Accepting insurance - they accept what they accept. If they don't accept your insurance, then that's no reason to give them a bad review. It doesn't make sense that you have been going there for 4 years and now that you are hurt they don't want to see you. Is it because they aren't qualified to treat your injury? Or your insurance carrier changed? Be a little more specific please. Office staff professionalism - this is a teaching facility so the person who greets you and takes you back to the waiting room will most likely be new and/or a student. I am all for teaching so even though they may not have the "cooth" (sp couth) as someone said, everyone starts out at this point so give the kids a break. As a human being, you have the responsibility to help others so help the kids grow and provide them with feedback on their professionalism. I do. Responding to messages - I have never left a message for anyone to call me back so I can't opine on that issue but whenever I need a prescription and it can't be sent to a pharmacy electronically, they ALWAYS call me back within 24 hours letting me know the prescription is ready to be picked up. I see Dr. Macedo, Ms. Hammacher (PA), and Dr. Meyers and they are all professional, courteous, and respectful. I can talk to them openly and never feel reserved when speaking. These are my experiences with Washington Medical Group. You have the right to post negative feedback but you really should post the whole, and not a piece, of the story. Hopefully my post will give readers a little more perspective when deciding to visit Washington Medical Group. R/S Frank

Sarah: Honestly, the worst experience I've ever had with a medical facility! Save your time, money and sanity and go elsewhere. The first time I went to see Dr. Macedo, it was an excellent experience. I was sent to have dozens of lab test done and take an ADHD test followed by a review with the doctor. After the test, I was told he was running way behind and I could sit and wait for an unknown amount of time or see the physician's assistant. I saw the PA, who spent five minutes looking over my tests and started me on a new prescription. I was told to come back in four weeks to evaluate the new prescription. When I scheduled the appointment, I explicitly asked that it be at a time when the doctor would be available so I could follow up on our initial discussion and treatment plan. A month later, I show up, pay my $40 copay by check and am placed in a room. Only then am I told the doctor isn't available. The front desk person and the nurse couldn't seem to decide if the doctor was in jury duty or if he was downstairs..."he just came in for the afternoon to do paperwork, he's not seeing patients." I said seeing him to review the test results and medication directly was the reason I came and if he wasn't seeing patients that day, I should've been notified. They offered to refund my copay, have the doctor call later, and call in a refill on my prescription. For some reason, the front desk person gave me back $40 cash instead of my check. Three days later, no word from the doctor and my pharmacy never received a refill request. I called to find out why and was literally told they couldn't help me until I came back and returned the $40 cash in exchange for my voided check. I explained that I don't live in DC and was not going to AGAIN pay for an Uber both ways just to fix their bookkeeping mistake. I offered to mail the cash, pay by credit card over the phone...neither were acceptable. I asked to speak to a manager and the woman I was passed to was equally as rude and defensive and continued with the argument that I couldn't get a refill (of the prescription I was now out of mind you) until I returned the money that I "shouldn't have taken." So somehow, it's now my fault that I was returned cash instead of my check. I asked to speak to HER manager. The next woman I was passed to was extremely helpful in rectifying all problems...after I spent 45 minutes going round and round with them. Fast forward, I go back for my next follow up on the medication and see Dr. Macedo. He increased my dose and asked me to come back in a week for a follow up test on the higher dose. I said I had just enough medication to get me to that point. The day before my appointment, the office calls to tell me they're closing the next day because of the Capitals parade and rescheduled me for the following week. Silly me, I forgot that it would mean I'd run out of medication in less than two days. Couldn't call the next day because they were closed. Called first thing the following morning and was told the doctor reviews prescription requests at the end of the day. Well, that would be fine except I leave for vacation tomorrow. I told her that's fine as long as the refill is called into my pharmacy today. She tells me their policy is 48 hours. Again, I'm now to blame for their changing the schedule! I reminded her that had they not closed the day before, I would have seen the doctor and had the prescription filled in a timely manner. That didn't seem to sink in for her. So, here I am again, out of medication and at the mercy of the most incompetent medical staff I have ever experienced in my life. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to search for another psychiatrist that handles adult ADHD to get to the bottom of my issues because I can't continue to deal with a doctor whose office is so thoroughly unreliable and rude on top of it. So, so disappointed as after my initial appointment with Macedo, I felt relief and excitement at the prospect of finally getting a handle on my ADHD treatment.

Barb Z: I would give a zero if that were possible. Dr Jay Rhee not only lacks "bedside manner", he is completely devoid of manners, professionalism, or a willingness to communicate with his patients, who he treats with something bordering on contempt. He responds to questions with the defiant arrogance of someone who is protecting a sub standard skill set. Completely unacceptable.

Tammy Rife: Went in for a EEG test. They guy who did my testing was very pleasant, and detailed with how this testing was going to go step by step. Very pleased with him. A big thumbs up to him. Checking out was went very well to. I definitely am please to give them the star 5. Thank you so much. 😁
Response: Thank you Tammy for your positive feedback regarding your overall experience with our staff and testing at Mary Washington Neurology. It is our pleasure to care for you and we wish you good health.

Shannon Simmons: Just as a heads up, I was referred here after a car accident left me with worsening post concussion symptoms. My PCP and Ortho both put in referrals marked urgent. They never called, and their hours are shorter than normal business hours (4pm some days, 2 pm on others) so it took me a while to get a person actually on the line. I was told they could see me in October. Yep. Find somewhere else if you can't wait 6 mos for your initial visit.

Lilian Amén: Dr Dale Pcsolyar is simply the best in the field, his knowledge, professionalism and empathy makes him a great doctor. They have an amazing staff that makes you feel part of the family.
Response: Thank you, Lilian. We appreciate your positive review for Dr. Pcsolyar and his staff at Mary Washington Neurology. We look forward to your next visit.

Colleen Danyluk: The staff gives exceptional care from front office to exam room to check out. They set the bar for excellence in every way!!!!!!!!!
Response: Thank you, Colleen, for your review and kind words of appreciation for the staff at Mary Washington Neurology. Positive patient feedback like yours means so much to our associates. Have a wonderful weekend.

paula harker: Have had nothing but professional and courteous care. Both the staff and Dr. Lynch have been wonderful.

Carlos Sage: I wish negative stars was a possibility. The lady on the phone has been rude twice. ( I made 2 calls about 6 months apart) Interrupting when one talks, does not listen, lies about needing a referral. I spoke to my insurance , my pcp and another neurologist and all said no need for referral on my plan. The lady on the phone told me I needed to sign release forms to get my file from the ER or she wont make me an appointment even after I explained to her I have my entire record in hand and all the MRI images. Aside from constantly interrupting me she had a rude tone and use "once again" language. Even though what she said "once again made no sense. I asked to speak to someone else and she wouldn't transfer me and when I called back she was the one who answered. She should not be allowed to work with patients with her attitude. I called Mary Washington hospital and they gave me the number to a neurologist who's office staff is super nice and supper helpful and got my appointment set.

Kayla Wiseman: BEWARE. I was double billed in my last appointment. I was initially billed my regular co-payment for my Botox injection. I then received a second bill in the mail for another co-payment, when I called to explain I already paid this in-house, I was told it is an "office visit fee" for the doctor simply discussing my medications during the injection. I was also told, via the billing department that I, as a patient, will not know if I am being charged this fee until AFTER I leave the office and the doctor decides if he wants to charge an office fee or not. This is completly UNETHICAL, especially as someone who has worked in the medical field for years and understands that patients have a right to know fully upfront what they are being billed for. It is very obvious that this practice does not respect their patients because in addition, my prescriptions are never filled in a timely manner and usually require multiple phone calls. I wished ZERO stars was an option.

James Baker: My initial appointment was great, however since then everytime I call I get a voicemail and no response. When I do get someone they say they will have the right person call me back and still no response. I gave them paperwork with a deadline of 2 weeks and waited for the documents. They never filled them out and never gave me an update. The paperwork has now expired and my time is wasted.

Nikki Mack: Friendly staff!! Amazing help from the doctor who was kind, listened and answered all my questions! They make it easy by sending the paperwork to new patients to fill out at home. No waiting!

Chris Morrow: I was an existing patient with this practice, but my doctor there retired. When I called to schedule a follow up appointment, I asked if I could be seen by another doctor there, I was rudely told "no, we are referring his patients out." The fact that I was an existing patient was of no concern to them.

Jamshidi Saied MD: what do users think?

joan smith: Dr. Jamshidi is an awesome doctor that is honest and really cares about his patients. It's not all about money with him. I love him and adore him.

Maria Williams: Dr. Jamshidi performed emergency back surgery on me in 1994 and neck surgery in 2014, both with excellent results. I continue to refer friends and family to him because he continues to educate himself on new procedures and techniques to use, and has many Neurosurgeon certifications to prove it. In the past, it has been frustrating to wait to be seen by him, sometimes over an hour, until I realized that when it is my turn to see him, I am not rushed, I am able to ask as many questions as I need to, and he thoroughly explains what is going on with you, using diagrams, etc. I have never had a doctor take the time to explain things better and make recommendations. So I began to be more patient. What doctor do you know that gives you the tools and exercises you need to prevent you from having to have another back surgery. Most doctors want to do another surgery to make the money. When I have back pain that prevents me from functioning normally, I follow the instructions he gave me many years ago, to walk in the pool and take an hour and a half bath (at a minimum) in Epson salt. I use to take a 30 minute bath and felt no better. It wasn't until I stayed in the tub for an hour and a half or two (like he told me to) that I feel like a new women. This week during my office visit, a man discussed the brain surgery he had in 2002 and the fact that although he has to take seizure medicine, he has never had a seizure since his surgery. The lady he was talking to had back surgery 4 months ago, and jumped out of her chair as if she was 20 years old. I listen to his other patience in the waiting room as they discuss their surgery's and know that we are all very blessed to have Dr. Jamshidi as our surgeon.

Edith Adams: I've been with Dr Jamshidi for over 20 years. I find him to be a very good and caring Dr who truly cares about his patients. He is the one Dr I trust to tell me the truth. He takes time with each patient and will explain different options of procedures as opposed to other Drs who seem to only care about performing doing unnecessary surgeries. He's patient, and give you information and time to decide which is the better option for you. He's the kindest Dr I've ever met when you compare the Drs now a days who rush you in and out and force unnecessary medicines on you to make money. As long as he's there, I will always go to him.
