Sarah Chaudary: Marie did my eyebrows 8 months ago. I was super nervous but she answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. She is very thorough and meticulous when it comes to the shape of the brow. She spend a good amount of time measuring and making sure the shape of the brow would look good for my face. Once she completed the shape she let me look at the shape confirming I was happy with the outline, she began to microblade. She is very hygienic and cares for the safety of her clients. My brows look very natural. I was not able to get a touch up but my brows at still looking great after 8 months. I get compliments all of the time. ALSO- i have not had to pay to have my brows waxed or threaded in 8 months; the shape is already there, so I just trim and clean around with tweezers or a brow shaper. The price was great and it pays for itself over time! Thank you Marie!!

Etsube Yitbarek: I normally don’t write reviews for businesses, but I had to this time. This was my first time I got my teeth whitened. It was the best experience ever!!!! Chris is super professional and he does his job so well! He made me feel super comfortable!!! One thing I love about this place is their honesty. They tell you everything you need to know before you get your teeth whitened. If your teeth doesn’t need whitening, they will tell you straight up but they also give you the change to decide on your own. All in all, I will be coming back again when I need to get my teeth whitened.

As I was walking around the Montgomery mall, Beauty Boss salon got my attention since it has a very nice and presentable look. Entered the salon and met Marie. I asked her some questions about eyebrows since i wanted to get some permanent makeup done and very patiently she explained to me what works best in my situation. Her salon is so beautiful, clean, elegant, all class, so does she! Right there I trusted her and made an appointment. A couple of days later I went to get my eyebrows done. I was a little nervous but that didn’t last too long. Marie knows what she is doing. She is a true makeup artist. She took her time to explain everything step by step. I went back in February and the experience was as great as it was the first time. Renae: I genuinely do not understand how this boutique has so many great reviews. I booked here three times and all three times I was made to adjust my appointment because they will let you book prior to actually ensuring a technician will be there. The last time I booked my appointment & even showed up early only to find out my appointment was canceled and nobody even bothered to notify me. I also paid a deposit to book each appointment & the shop has YET to refund my money from months ago. The extensions themselves aren’t great; I asked for classic & got volume extensions instead. They made my brows look like two fuzzy caterpillars, they were WAY too thick and dark for me and took up my entire face!! I had been getting my brows threaded here for a few months and they always did a great job, but they really let me down with the quality of their lamination service. Will not be going back here again after what they did to my brows.

Nadia Elhag: DONT COME HERE FOR LASH EXTENSIONS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR NATURAL LASHES. Nearly all of my natural lashes have been ripped out w these extension. I came in right before my vacation but wasted my time & over $200 bc HALF OF MY LASHES WERE ALREADY FALLING OUT ALONG WITH MY NATURAL LASHES AFTER JUST 3 DAYS. I had to wait til I returned from my vacation with sloppy lashes to get them fixed, only for them to charge me again & do another sloppy job & now even MORE lashes have fallen out, again, within just days. That’s two pointless visits within 2 weeks. My natural lashes were long and healthy although I’d been getting my lashes done routinely elsewhere, so I have something to compare my experience to. I actually used to come to this salon often for lash extensions before my lash tech left, but this new staff is horrible & claim they’ve been doing lashes for years. The school is very clean, sanitation is huge in this industry and the school definitely showed that! It’s very professional, the teachers are very knowledgeable and you can tell they have passion for this! They have great presentations on each chapter and give you everything you need to be able to pass the state board exam, looking forward to taking my state board soon and passing it!

Alyssa Lewis: I did the basic esthetic program through this school, and it is definitely a very clean and friendly environment. The class sizes were fairly small which is nice, so it doesn’t feel so overwhelming. I definitely felt that there was a slight language barrier with my instructor so questions would have to be repeated several times for clarification, but she was very nice and very understanding when it came to absences (I commuted from Frederick MD) and very accommodating. Overall I really enjoyed the opportunity of studying here

Tiana Lynn: I went for a job interview here last year to be a lash technician and a possible new permanent makeup artist. In DC, there are no requirements to be an esthetician to do lashes, but the owner insisted that you do need to be an esthetician (call the DC board of cosmetology...it’s not regulated). The owner proceeded to interview me and inquire where I was attending esthetician school at the time. This female went behind my back and called my school looking to share students with her business and never once mentioned me or my interview to the school. The school ended up notifying me of what she had done and read me the email she sent. The school knew it was me because before the interview, I told them I was applying here and looking for a head start in my new permanent makeup career as well as doing lashes there. I was truly hurt. As a beginner, I wanted to learn and work with someone fresh out of school for permanent makeup. This goes to show you how underhanded and backstabbing she can be. Be very weary of this lady, the owner. Very sneaky.

A M: To anyone who is hesitating about the procedure, just like I was, go for it without any second thoughts as long as your master is as brilliant as Hasti. Was super impressed by her precision and accuracy when it came to shaping the eyebrows and choosing the right color for the look. Moreover, was grateful for her patience with me throughout the process as we were perfecting the final touches. Would definitely recommend Brow Bar to anyone interested. P.S. Kiara C: This is based purely on the service provided and not on my interaction with the staff. I went to get my eyebrows tinted after seeing great reviews and photo. I was told early on that the tinting doesn’t last long with people who have oily skin. The brows looked great when I got them done yesterday. This morning when I woke up, half the tint had already faded. While it is a good idea in theory, price wise it doesn’t make since for me (or people with oily skin) if it is going to fade the next day. I had to pencil my eyebrows in this morning.

J H: Hasti is highly skilled microblading artist and perfectionist. She really takes her time to draw out the eyebrow shape and make sure you like it before starting the microblading. I was very impressed with her meticulous artistry and her extensive training and highly recommend her if you are looking for eyebrow microblading in the DC area. Her clinic is clean, modern and upscale.

Maryyam Umer: This is the worst place ever. Hasti is the most unprofessional and rude person out there. It was the biggest mistake to get her services. She ruined my brows, gave me cuts and bruises. Did not sanitize her equipment. She charged me full price and refuse to fix my brows and wanted my to pay her more money to fix her mess. She is only there to take your money. Don’t waste your money and most importantly don’t let her ruin your brows. RUN AWAY.

Nora Momani: While I found the studio to be nice and Recy and Alice both welcoming, I am less than pleased with the final product of my eyebrows. I had my eyebrow appointment on January 18, 2022. It’s been just over a month since my appointment. Initially while still in the studio, I thought my eyebrows looked okay but way, way dark. I told myself the color would fade (it’s not my first time microblading) but I also didn’t realize how dark they were nor how misshapen they were until I got home. I was a little nervous coming to a new artist so I completely forgot all of the questions I needed to ask. First of all, I should have been concerned when Recy asked me if I liked my shape and color multiple times. My answer to both questions was yes - because I did, however, Recy did not match the shape or color.. at all. I should have been concerned when Recy did not measure out my eyebrow (as my previous artist did) but instead was free handing my eyebrows. Again, I should have said something at the studio but I was keeping my mind blank to brace myself for the pain (I’m a big baby when it comes to pain) and I was also trusting Recy as a “Master Artist”. This is a warning to everyone - do NOT let your artist free hand your brows! The result of this is that my brows are not symmetrical to each other nor does it match my face. I have one eyebrow with that is much more visibly arched. On top of that, one eyebrow has two lines that are not even within the shape of my eyebrow (one top, one bottom). Second, the color. She asked me if I liked the color of my current eyebrows, and I did! The color she picked for my eyebrows was NO WHERE NEAR the color of my previous brows. It makes my eyebrows look sharpie black, makes my face look sharp and angry. My previous color made my face look soft. Additionally, my natural hair color is NOT black but a dark, dark brown. This black microblade makes my face look SO off. Putting my first microbladed eyebrows (done by an artist out of state) next to my current eyebrows and there is a distinct difference. I am actually embarrassed by my eyebrows and do not like looking at myself or taking pictures of myself. If I could turn back time, I would actually buy plane tickets to California to visit my previous artist or just continue to fill in my brows daily! While in the studio, Recy also mentioned that I may need a touch-up. However, she failed to mention that the touch-up is NOT included in the $700+ price of the procedure. When I called to schedule a follow up, I was shocked that I was being told it was $100+ for a touch up. Additionally, when I told the person on the phone that I was unhappy with my shape and wanted to fix it, I was still quoted $100+. I currently have a touch up appointment scheduled but am highly considering finding another artist at a different location to fix my eyebrows. Lastly, I was less than impressed by the aftercare. She essentially gave me a little booklet that showed the phases my eyebrows would go through and two packets of cream. There was little in the way of actual instructions. Service: Microblading

Moe Moe: This is only my second time coming to this salon so I am still very new. First time it was just for eyebrow wax. This time I thought I get a regular pedicure as well. Let me first say I scheduled appointment online with two different people one for eyebrow wax and another person for pedicure but i did not get that. So that seemed weird but I wasn’t going to make a big deal about it as long as they did a good job. Anyways I never get pedicures i usually do my feet at home to be honest with regular nail polish. I have never had gel so I am unfamiliar with it. I signed up for a regular pedicure online and when I arrived they asked me to pick my color which i did off the shelf. Everything was fine until checkout when they tried to charge me for a gel pedicure. Technician applied the color I selected, she applied a clear coat nail polish on top and dried with a drier which I thought was standard. It did not look like a gel as far as I know and nor did I ever ask for gel nor did she mention she was using a gel. Again I am not a regular with pedicures at salons so this is still all new to me. I did let her know when she kept putting the drier on my feet I was concerned bc it kept touching my actual nails and I thought it may be messing up the polish she was applying. So maybe she decided to switch to gel at this point? I don’t know I wasn’t paying attention. Or if I selected a gel nail polish by accident and did not realize it if so it would have been nice if would she would have pointed this out to me as I definitely did not want gel. But at checkout I was about to be charged for gel. I explained nicely to the receptionist I did not ask for gel I asked for a regular pedicure so this was a mistake. I actually have never had gel. I’m not sure if she was mad at me or the technician for making the mistake and not communicating with me properly but when I mentioned this she came back with attitude. It just made me feel uncomfortable for even mentioning it. I was just trying to being honest and not get charged for something I did not ask for. They honored the price but im not sure I will be back. Good Customer service is important to me. Services: Eyebrows , Pedicures

Kendra Gonzalez: She is the best of the best! I highly recommend. From the very first minute to the very last she will not disappoint. She explains what to expect from the appointment and delivers. She books fast so if you are thinking about it- stop thinking and just do it! I got powder brows because of how oily the area around my brows get but I am still in love. I went on Nov 26 and they have only faded a little bit (that’s expected) so my touch up is middle of February and I CANNOT WAIT! Fatana is very funny and super friendly. Vicky Fasano: If I could give Katie 10,000 stars, I would in a heartbeat. As someone who is not new to microblading, I was a bit scarred by my first experience with another artist and wasn’t sure if I wanted to get my eyebrows done again. However, I found Katie’s IG page through another artist who was relocating and was excited to see that Katie was relocating from San Diego to the DMV area. Andrea Taulton: This review is LONG overdue. I can’t even remember the date of my first appointment with Katie, but it was awhile ago. I was the girl who spent at least 15/20 mins on just my eyebrows alone because they were that nonexistent and blonde. I found Katie and I’m SO glad I did. She does amazing work. When I tell you my eyebrows were nonexistent... I truly mean that. After the first session with Katie, I was amazed. My eyebrows looked full, symmetrical, and just how I requested them to be. Katie also has great hospitality, asked me multiple times if I needed anything or if I was still doing okay. Prices are SUPER reasonable. She is very considerate about the 2 hour parking out front also. I’m not sure how many times I have went back and gotten a “fill-in” but, my eyebrows look so natural and so full. My last appointment was around Nov/Dec 2018, it’s now April 2019 and my eyebrows still look fresh and full. I get a lot of positive compliments weekly (which is what pushed me to write this well-deserved review). Karina Rubio: I’m very upset about taking the microblading course with Laveda lash. 😔 I wish I could’ve done more research before taking the course. For the final exam. You are required to do a live model hands on. She did the whole session didn’t really let me do the work on my own. I know I’m supposed to have my instructor next to me to help me assist however I’m a learner by doing things. Plus this was my final “ live exam hands on” and she didn’t allow me to really to do much. I left feeling very uneducated and not secure. Not to mention she didn’t even have my certificate ready for me at the moment, which was pretty upsetting because I had drove 3 hours away.

Talia Jones: AVI contacted me after I did a FAFSA and added their school code. They weren’t sure which program I wanted to attend as I had never contacted them. I had 4 other schools on my Fafsa but they’re the only school who actually took time out to contact me. We set up and appointment and I went in to tour their school. The office staff is so pleasant and they seem to really go above and beyond for their students. I have already been setting up my self to be an esthetician and now I’ll have the knowledge I need to succeed in this field. The best advice to give is always stay in training mode be the sponge that wants to soak up as much as possible ask every question you can think of practice, practice, practice! This is the beginning for me however I can see myself be very good at this and confidence is always key! You can do it this is the best place to go to learn they teach you the ropes and how to professionally do this procedure while being meticulous in your work!
