Sequoia DC: what do users think?

Zuleirys Santana Rodriguez: Amazing customer service! The outdoor dining is just soo extremely gorgeous, spacious and clean in every way. You have a lovely view of the water, the Sweden Embassy, and just the river! The food was just next level, specially the octopus that was cooked to perfection and I will certainly have it again when I come back to bring my boyfriend.

IamJoedie S: This was my first time and the experience was awesome. We came for a birthday dinner. A party of 12 arriving at 5 PM on a Sunday. We had two servers they were on top of everything. There was never a moment a glass was empty. Food service was quick hot and absolutely delicious. I had the steak was absolutely surprise when the potato came out with macaroni and cheese…must order if, no when you come. If you’re looking for a sexy restaurant to have a brunch, lunch and or dinner this is definitely the spot it overlooks the water great date spot. I will definitely come back again. Next time for the brunch. I hear that it is phenomenal. Come. Eat. Drink. Enjoy!

jen w: I gave this 3 stars because of a couple reasons first we had a reservation Saturday at 1:30 pm for their tapas brunch. They were super slow getting our food to us at the beginning. We ordered two rounds of food before the waitress came back and told us it was last call. We were barely there an hour. There is a 2 hour limit, I feel that if they have reservations till a certain hour they should allow the two hour minimum for people. It’s 64.95 per person they aren’t doing a favor for anyone. Next we chose to sit inside and it was obnoxiously loud. There was a group of people that were talking and screaming to each other, while I’m glad they were having a good time management should have asked them to simmer down because all the rest of us could to was watch them because u couldn’t talk for the noise. Having said all that, the food was very good. We opted for Bellinis and Mimosas. They were very good. The waiters walked around with carafes of Champagne and refilled you. My glass never got empty. I would go back here but make an earlier reservation and in cooler weather where I could it on the patio so I don’t have to deal with the noise.

John Varkey: We came for an anniversary dinner. The hostesses were a bit surly and disinterested but our waiter was great. The views are fabulous. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the lobster scampi. They were both fabulous but according to my wife the lobster had the edge. We went for a nice stroll along the water and around Georgetown after dinner. A very nice evening was had.

Kat B: Loved this place so much. My partner and I came here for our anniversary, not only was the view beautiful but the energy/service of the staff was amazing . The food was spectacular, definitely get the burrata if they have it ! We were pretty full but still made room for dessert and an espresso which was also delicious . Definitely recommend for a date night/ celebration . Prices were in line with the portions/ambiance .

Crystal Sings: Beautiful simply Beautiful 💜My daughter and I brought my mom to last Saturday’s brunch for her 80th birthday and we really enjoyed the service, food, and ambiance of the restaurant. George, our waiter was awesome and made our experience so memorable! Thank you George!

elizabeth rose: Visiting from florida and this restaurant was highly recommended by locals and im delighted i took their advice! The atmosphere was great, very inviting and scenic, indoor and outdoor seating offered with a nice view of the river. food was really good and exceeded expectations and the server Dominique went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience :)

Rose's Luxury: what do users think?

Mikayla Rose: This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was the most delicious and romantic dinner I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and it was so special. Our waiter, Ramsey, made the experience so personal and he was amazing! This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant from the moment we walked in until we left. Since it was my birthday, we were given a gift of a recipe and the ingredients we can make at home, as well as a raspberry tart with a candle! I’m incredibly impressed and will be returning. 10/10 recommend. Also, for the meal and service we received it was so worth the money and very reasonably price.

HK: Enjoyed all of the menus we ordered. Rose’s Luxury is a smart creative restaurant- not using any unheard or arcane ingredients or recipe, it effortlessly creates a new combination of tastes. The way it’s priced is hard to understand ($85 per person prefix for dinner regardless of what you order) and may make it relatively more expensive for some combination of dishes. Other than that, food and service was fantastic.

N -: It was my first time going to a Michelin star restaurant. The food is definitely unique, but not for people who like simple food. Not worth the price, despite its rating. The desserts are not adequately sized for a meal that big... Did not finish the dessert that served "2.9" people. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff. The upper level has a quaint dining space and the bathroom is very nice.
Response: Hi Nathalie, Thanks so much for your feedback. We would love to further discuss your experience with us and get a little more information from you. Could you please contact me directly via email: misha@rosesrestaurantgroup.com. Look forward to hearing from you!

Andrea Bronstein: This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was an amazing experience. I booked the garden bar area mistakenly thinking it was just for the garden area in general and I’d have a table so I was disappointed when I was seated but it ended up being a great experience. Josh, the bartender, was really personable and knowledgeable and my fiancé and I really enjoyed chatting with him. The food was really good, especially the steak and eggs dish.

Megan Martinez: We loved Rose’s Luxury! Our waiter was extremely nice. The whole staff was super friendly. We got to try 6 dishes since we were a party of three. The lychee salad is a must. The cabbage and chicken were also extremely delicious. We got two deserts and a single coffee French press. They brought us a special tart for my sister since it was her birthday! At the end I was so touched to get a gift at the end of the meal which was a pasta and spice set to make at home!

Carolyn Zacharias: I came in nervously as a solo dinner and ate at the bar - I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming staff - from the host to each server explaining the dishes. John and Harley at the bar took excellent care of me through the creation of delicious drinks and perfect recommendations for food. I had the lychee and pork salad which at first glance seemed like a creation of mismatched ingredients, it was both refreshing and hearty. In addition I tried the leek pasta and the soy glazed chicken, both dishes I highly recommend as they are both comforting and creative!

Cynthia M: Absolutely phenomenal experience!! Husband took me to celebrate my birthday here and not only did we have amazingly delicious food, but the service was impeccable. I also appreciated the fun atmosphere they created for everyone and thought it was really nice being able to sit all around the kitchen and being able to observe the chefs create the dishes. We didn’t do the wine pairing but did order some cocktails, which were also spectacular (they do give you a few for free too!). For my birthday, they served me a cheesecake at the end and were very kind to help us take a Polaroid photo for us to keep! We were also sent home with a delicious milk bread. Absolutely enjoyed this experience and adored this Japanese inspired menu. Thank you for a memorable night, minibar!!

Ashley Evans: The cocktail experience was phenomenal! Such a fun experience for two people. We got the black truffle grilled cheese as a snack - delicious!

Yolanda Zhou: Everything was beautiful at minibar, even the bathroom. The service, presentation, and overall experience was amazing. The pacing was a little slow but was made up by the chefs plating the dishes right in front of you. My favorites were the corn and caviar, soy chicharron, nori senbei, and strawberry milk. We tried the gin and juice cocktail from barmini, which was wonderful as well.

Jesse: Japanese-inspired chef counter experience. Very elegent and minimal; inventive preparation; and unique and surprising.

Douglas Anderson: Best dining experience in the US. From the staff, to the facility to the food. OUTSTANDING

Angelique Garcia: Such an awesome experience! By far one of the best restaurants in D.C... The only thing is I wouldn’t gave gotten the wine pairing if I had known what I’d be served. Only one red, fairly sweet whites for my palate, and the pours were more of a tasting than a pairing. The food and service were impeccable though. Thank you Minibar chefs and José Andrés!

George Junca: Amazing food and totally fantastic experience, service is totally on point and elevates the dining experience overall. The wine pairings were perfect and really liked some if the playful elements like the bahn mi that looks like is served on roll but is actually made of apple, the chicharron that has no pork, etc.

Matt Watier: Second time here and it was a treat. The real standouts was the lobster and duck egg, and the forest floor mushroom dish. A great example of how modern gastronomy can bring together flavors texture and temperatures that traditionally cooked food can not.

Victor Wang: An out of this world experience with some of the most whimsical and delicious food. Service was very attentive and watching the chefs create art in front of your eyes was magical. Be sure to make reservations as soon as they release them online. The wine pairings all worked perfectly and everyone was extremely knowledgeable.

Xiquet by Danny Lledó: what do users think?

Clayton Russell: Can you give more than 5-stars?? Wow - my wife and I finally had a night out and we chose the right place. Every detail (and they pay attention to ALL of them) was so eloquent and tailored. The service is impeccable. The food divine. The wine pairing perfection. The atmosphere is like nowhere I’ve ever been. Danny feels more like a gracious host than a world renowned chef. We simply loved this experience and can’t wait to return.

Leslie Matista: I was lucky enough to snag a last minute reservation at Xiquet during an impromptu trip to DC and I was blow away! I’ve stopped in at Slate (the bar downstairs) a couple times for drinks and small plates and it is always fabulous but this was my first time doing the whole experience and it was beyond memorable. I love the concept of progression throughout the restaurant as part of the experience! Every dish was delicious and unique, and the knowledge of the staff really added to the experience. It’s hard to choose a favorite composition but I found the flavor and presentation of the white asparagus and caviar to be especially memorable. Our entire table raved about the paella and the wine pairings as well. I really enjoyed the touch of moving to the lounge for desserts and coffee/after dinner drinks with the chef. Overall One of the best meals and most memorable dining experiences I’ve had!
Response: Hi Leslie, It was a pleasure to host you, and we're so glad you enjoyed the experience! We look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Ryan Miller: Hands down the best dining experience I’ve had to date. From beginning to end, every dish was amazing and I could feel the creativity and love put into each. Service was phenomenal! Highly recommend to anyone visiting DC.

Claire Lyons: Unforgettable experience celebrating my birthday at Xiquet! Chef’s take the Valencian stew, All I Pebre, was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The paella was amazing, of course, and Chef Danny was kind enough to send out a nice birthday surprise before joining us briefly as we finished the menu with coffee, drinks, and sweets in the mezzanine lounge.
Response: Hi Claire, Thank you for choosing to celebrate your birthday with us! We're happy to hear that it was a memorable experience for your special occasion. We look forward to hosting you again in the future!

Stephanye Loftin: When good fortune gifted us a parking space at Xiquet’s door, our party felt kismet kissed — a clear signal that we were destined for a birthday celebration unmatched! Chef Danny, all-encompassing, you & your team were charming, comforting, & consummate! Maravilloso! We loved every moment of our culinary adventure: • from the first act’s beverage offerings & aperitivos at the Chef’s Counter: Our birthday girl proclaims your Penchi Daiquiri “the best drink she’s ever had!” • to your top floor’s 14-course comida experiencia: Eight mesmerizing offerings continue to electrify conversation — caviar service; grilled octopus w/grapes; sea cucumber; tartare Ibèric; fennel; dover sole; oxtail; & wagyu. • to the final act’s after-dinner treats in your mezzanine lounge: Confections of sweet delight! Chef, we felt welcomed & favored at Xiquet. Thank you for granting us a view into the framing of your evening’s culinary masterpiece. Perfección!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. We hope to see you back soon!

Lisa Brundage: Best meal in DC. Creative dishes with incredible depth and a great wine pairing.

Cristina Clark: Horrendous!!! We order a thanksgiving meal for ten and when we got home with the order had to go running to the store and buy more food. Super small portions the pork full of fat and bones, the turkey was ok. The stuffing and gravy was good

Ben L.: Wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner and Xiquet knocked it out of the park. The food was phenomenal and the service was impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed the start at the chef’s counter, then progressing to dinner and capping our night with an after dinner beverage. A wonderful place for any special occasion, all because of the attention to detail (from the food to the service). My wife and I loved our experience and can’t thank the chefs and the service staff for making our night a memorable one.

Cynthia M: Spectacular food. My husband and I did the omakase which was 6 course meal and 3 course dessert. The food’s flavor, texture, freshness, aesthetics—everything was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We shared a sparkling sake this time and I don’t typically like sake but that was actually really yummy too. Would love to try out their cocktails next time!

Abby: Wonderful dining experience here. We got the omakase with cocktails for dinner, and the flavors of every dish were amazing. My favorite one would have to be the duck with a blueberry sauce on the side. The ambiance was great, and the service was good - it had taken a bit of time before they took our orders, so they got us oysters on the house (which were delicious). We were there to celebrate a graduation, and there was a hand-written note on the table for us, which was a nice touch. I’d come back again for their happy hour and to dine again.

Aditya Karandikar: First time dining at a Michelin star restaurant did not disappoint. We did the omakase 10 course meal and had an absolute blast. The dining experience itself was fairly typical except for the multitude of courses. The food was at times experimental/complex and at other times straight down the middle, designed to please. The balance was well-executed and we left extremely satisfied. Service was soft spoken but perfect. Quite filling as well, definitely go hungry!

Renee Ethier: Amazing experience. Everything we had on the omakase menu was delicious, beautiful, and truly unique. The decor and service was top notch. It was all what you’d expect from a Michelin star restaurant. I can’t wait to go back.

Joe Guevara: Luckily this was a business dinner because it’s definitely pricey - but still worth it. Service - Amazing; I wish I could hire the server as a salesperson. The food - also amazing. The portions are perfect to order multiple things to share between a group - they are small (tapa) sized but we were still full by the end. My highlights were the risotto, the oysters (great sauce & quality), and for some reason the enoki mushrooms on whatever dish the picture has with the pickled onion/etc - the flavor profile of that dish was amazing. Still water that costs $18 a bottle seems overkill though. 🙄
Response: I am not sure what happened with still water, but bottles are $8 or $9. Possibly there were two bottles. Either way, I am sorry for that portion of your experience but very glad to hear you enjoyed the food. Feel free to reach out to us, if it was $18 for one bottle, I can look into it and we would refund the difference because that is not correct from our side. Thank you for your review and enjoy your weekend.

Allen N: My sister and brother-in-law took us here for lunch. It’s a beautiful restaurant space with comfortable but excellent service and a Michelin star. They’re cuisine style is “Spanish kaiseki” and they do a great job blending Japanese touches with a Spanish flair. We ordered the executive kaiseki and added on a few extras. The oysters were delicious and unagi paella was another favorite! The meal and experience as a whole was very enjoyable. Already looking forward to our next meal here!

The Dabney: what do users think?

Jiaren Li: Well deserving of the accolades! The meal was extraordinarily enjoyable and our waitress was both insightful of the food and friendly. I was surprisingly mind blown by the roasted vegetables - superb ingredients and good techniques make something appear so simple but feels like beyond my ability to replicate at home.

Jeff Ahn: The Dabney is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. However, had a more sub-par experience this last time. Was late 15 minutes to our reservations and lost our seats indoors and had to sit in the heat outdoors. This was a little odd as it seemed many tables were available indoors. Our server was great and was accommodating. Food was great! the corn bread was extremely hot so be careful if you decide to get this! We eventually moved to the bar as it was extremely hot outside and finished our desserts and had a couple drinks. The bartender was nice and asked what we wanted but he got out order wrong. Kinda blamed it on us in front of us to our server which I thought was slightly unprofessional and awkward. Our server made it right at the end. Pros: Catfish sliders! its an extra dish outside of the course. Highly recommend! Dessert was great as well! Cons: Table outside was covered with ants. Bartender could have been a little more professional. Overall, quality of food was great. Service could have been better especially from a Michelin restaurant.

Jessica C: The Dabney is my go-to for special occasions. It’s pricey but whenever my friend from the west coast comes for a visit, it’s our fancy/celebratory reunion dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and they pay you great attention. There are lots of little touches that make this place great (i.e., my friend and I remembered how much we loved the bread and butter last time we came, and the staff gave us tiny jars of the butter to take home with us. The butter is so good you could eat it with a spoon). The snacks/first course were delicious. Even something as boring as a radish turned into a highlight of the meal (I avoid seafood but they made great substations with the pre-fixe menu to accommodate me). The meat is cooked beautifully (though I admit the lamb was fattier than I typically enjoy — see photo) and the egg tart was my favorite dish. The drink was aromatic and lovely. If you can save up for a fancy dinner, go.

Logan Kenney: Amazing farm to table meal, definitely worthy of the star! The food was perfectly prepared and the dishes were extremely well thought out. One of my favorite D.C. spots, it’s a must every time I go.

Beth H: A warm and relaxed place where culinary artists skillfully transform foraged and locally sourced ingredients into edible masterpieces. The finished product unfolds course upon course like symphonic movements, building on a theme, revisiting subtle refrains, interposing cleaver variations, and culminating in a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime edible aesthetic experience!

Nicholas Stephens: Absolutely loved it! Wait staff was super friendly, everyone said hello coming in and thank you, have a good night heading out. Our server, Christian, was very knowledgeable about the menu, offered great suggestions and was patient with our questions. Had a 5-course meal, including snacks, appetizers, entree, dessert and parting sweet treats for the road. A Michelin star restaurant tucked into Blagden Alley, worth the trip and the experience! Enjoy some of the artwork in the Alley, as well, right at the DC Alley Museum a few steps away. To the entire staff, thank you and I hope to see you again soon. Have a great night!

Julia Gooding: We walked in and we’re thankful to be able to have the choice of the fixed or a la carte. We opted to order from the menu. Warning: portions are really small, so be prepared to order a lot or don’t come super hungry. We joked you get but a dab of food (a La carte at least) at The Dabney, but it’s a tasty dab! Some highlights were hen of the woods, scallops, and the wild meringue desert. But I think the dark chocolate gelato could be darker and richer. Cocktails were interesting but I didn’t find them that interesting in terms of depth/layers of flavor. Really nice staff and positive experience, but a star off because my expectations (with the star) were quite high!

Matt Monarch: Great tasting menu, but probably not worth splurging on given the other options you have in DC. The catfish sliders are worth adding. All the other food pictured was very good but unspectacular.

Christine S: I’ve been here on several occasions, and the Dabney has always been consistently great. Quality of the ingredients really shine here, and the service is stellar. I still remember my first visit when I bit into a carrot and thought “this is what a carrot should taste like.” (LOL…I’m serious though). If you’re someone who appreciates quality ingredients from great suppliers, don’t miss out! From their latest menu (as of September 2021), I tried their chilled corn soup with Maryland crab, tomato tartine, lamb, and nectarine sorbet. I highly recommend the chilled corn soup! Cozy ambiance and great drink menu

Ambar Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maya Bryant: I’ve been to this location for brunch twice so far. It’s a great place to go if you want to try multiple things. I went last time for my birthday brunch, which was on the rooftop floor. It was beautifully decorated and spacious for my party of 9. The food is always really good especially if you want to try new things. The crispy cheese slider really impressed me. Other great menu items include the mini burgers, beef prosciutto Benedict, and pecan and maple waffles. I would honestly skip the mac and cheese and bacon and grits, but it’s still worth a try being that you pay one price for everything. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back for dinner one day.

Scott Nguyen: Came in with high expectations based on recommendations from friends and certainly was not disappointed! The food was so delicious and the service was top notch. We ordered a lot of small dishes with plenty of options for meat and vegetarian eaters. Our servers constantly had food orders taken and delivered, and we walked away very stuffed. Highly recommended.

arun varughese: One of the best restaurants in DC. The price is high but you get unlimited food of premium quality. 45$ for dinner and 35$ for lunch. The food quality is of the level of a good high end restaurant with normal ingredients. All items are small plates but it’s not an issue as you can order them again. My favorites are rainbow trout, lamb lasagne and slow cooked beef. Almost all their items are good. I did not like salmon as it tasted very bland.

Leighton Smith: Our experience at Ambar was phenomenal. One of my top 5 favorite dining experiences across the world. For only $45 (plus drinks if desired), you get 2 hours at a table to sample anything on the Balkan / Eastern European menu. Everything tasted fantastic. The service we received from Tamara and others was 5-star. I cannot believe how flavorful everything was. What an awesome cultural experience. Thank you Ambar!!

Doris Becerra: I enjoy this place... I love it. All the food was great!! I would recommend! The lunch was amazing and very quite place. I went with my baby, my mother and husband and all was perfect! The waitress was phenomenal and very nice!! She explained how its works and she brings to us every plate that we want it repeat! We love it the place. Some photos of the lunch.. but I must take more photos!!

Stefan Tobler: Wow, this was my first bottomless brunch experience in DC and I’m glad it was. Ambar is a hell of a deal with some delicious food and exciting atmosphere. The photos below are from breakfast but their dinner is equally as fun! HIGHLY recommend, one of the only places I find myself at time and time again bringing all my new guests!

Gina Abrams: Me and the crew had a great time! We went for brunch. We were seating as soon as we arrived! Melissa was an excellent host! She kept the food coming. Everything was good (except for the bacon was too salty, I typically eat turkey bacon). Make your reservations today!

Brittani Spaulding: My absolute favorite brunch spot ever. All you can eat food and drink for under $50 pp. Can’t beat it. Everything on the menu is tasty and the drinks are good. Make a reservation ahead of time. Make sure you come hungry and thirsty, the service is always great and plates and drinks are refilled quickly.

Viraj Patel: Great $35 unlimited plates brunch on the weekend. Be sure to get here at least an hour before closing so you have time to order all the plates. Best items: cheese pie, salmon Benedict, veal soup, kale Caesar, Balkan salad, grilled steak, fried chicken slider, pecan and maple waffle.

Masseria: what do users think?

Ryan Montoya: This was the best meal I’ve had with my wife in Washington DC, and I can’t believe it was take out. The staff were very friendly and professional and allowed me to wait at the bar for my pickup order. At home the meal included heating and preparation tips which was an excellent touch. A lot of care was put into how well the food would travel and reheat and the restaurant did an amazing job. Every course was perfect and my wife and I were stunned at how transcendent every single component was. We were remiss because we’ve always wanted to eat here in person but both the pandemic and getting childcare has prevented us. After this experience we will absolutely order again and hopefully be able to finally dine in person soon. I can’t recommend their “a casa” service enough, and also recommend adding their desert course.

Renee Ethier: Masseria didn’t disappoint. I had a lovely birthday dinner here. The service was top notch, the restaurant was beautiful, and the food and drinks were amazing. We added the foie gras mini cannoli, which was SO worth it. They even sent us on our way with a gift bag with some goodies. Everything was perfect.

Micah Robinson: Confusing upsell process when you first arrive. Most dishes were good — not great — but not particularly voluminous (inflation, I’m sure). The duck was NOT good. Tough. Tasted like it was pulled out of the Anacostia after subsisting off mud water and cigarette butts for a lifetime. There was a pickled carrot that was quite tasty. If it had been just a little larger than half a cashew (see photo with circle), then Masseria would be cruising at four stars for me. The desserts were good no doubt. We came hungry. We left … still pretty hungry. But we “checked that one off the list 🤡.” Not to rag too hard on the restaurant — maybe it was an off night — but I polled my partner after the meal: “Would you have been more satisfied with that for $500 or a gut-bomb Chipotle burrito bowl for $30, using the remaining $470 for two months of a personal trainer for two to kick the burrito bowl?” Of course, it was an obvious choice for her. Hope this helps. Gotta run to meet the personal trainer!

abigail snoznik: Masseria was one of my favorite tasting menus in DC. We sat at the chef’s counter and got the tasting menu and wine pairing. The meal starts with a homemade kombucha and only gets better. We had 8 dishes beginning with bread, and following up with various plates including a fish, octopus, 2 pastas, and duck. I especially loved the beet dish and linguine (I really really loved the linguine.) They finish things off with a gift bag including some desserts and olive oil. Atmosphere and service were both great. 5 stars.

Naresh Singh: Birthday lunch. This is probably the most unique Italian spot I’ve experienced so far and it’s obvious why they earned a Michelin star. Ambiance is great inside and the outdoor seating area is a nice touch. Cigars are available outside too!

C Hanlon: We have dined at Masseria several times for celebrations and special occasions and enjoyed it, so we had booked tonight for a birthday dinner. We just received a call midday to let us know that they had suddenly decided to close the restaurant and cancel our reservation. Nothing was offered as an apology such as some type of credit or incentive for the future, even after explaining this was for a special occasion and it would be difficult to find a reservation at a similar place on the same day. We understand that it is a stressful time, but this is a high end, expensive restaurant that requires its guests to book, pay, and confirm in advance and does not allow them to cancel on the same day. There are many wonderful tasting menu options available in DC but what sets them apart is the service, and this was truly disappointing customer service.

Ryan Kaminsky: Food was great, service was pretty terrible. Price was not worth the meal.

R: This was my first time going to Del Mar and the food was phenomenal! We went as a group of 8 to celebrate a birthday. It was my first time trying octopus and it was really good. The parking in the garage was $45 since I stay for 4+ hours which was a downside for the night so it might be better to find street parking.

Genesis Marrero: I was truly impressed with this dining experience. We flew to DC for my birthday week and had my birthday dinner here. Luis served us and he was definitely one of the best servers we have ever had wait on us (and we are huge foodies so that is saying something). He was so attentive and just knew exactly how to guide the dining experience based on what the guests is wanting out of their night whether they know specifically or not. We let him take the wheel with all of the knowledgeable recommendations and we were so happy from start to finish. We came back for our last meal in DC and again, Amber served us, and again we were not disappointed. She was so sweet and also had wonderful recommendations and made sure all of our needs were met before we said goodbye and hopped on a flight. Luckily Luis was also there and he remembered us which made us happy because he was also so memorable for us. He was so nice and sent us our new favorite drink that he enlightened us to - the carajillo. I don’t think you could go wrong with a single thing on this menu. The rest of the staff was also very efficient and everything just seemed to flow so smoothly with the teamwork here. I can’t wait to go back someday!

Khalid Sam: Great places for tapas. A bit pricey but the quality and service is fantastic.

Alya's Aura: The food was SO delicious and of course the service was top notch. Our waiter (I believe his name is Michael) was so nice and helpful and made some great recommendations. I definitely suggest leaving space for dessert because their little dulce de leche dark chocolate cakes with the horchata ice cream was beyond amazing! The perfect end to a great meal 👌🏾

Theodora Lau: Love the food and the service. Def order the seafood paella 🥘 … you won’t be disappointed.

TexCat: In town with a friend. It was getting a little late and we were still trying to find somewhere for dinner - came across Del Mar and it enticed us. Waited for a table as we really wanted to sit outside on such a beautiful evening. Everyone was very friendly. Bryan our server was wonderful. Very attentive and sweet, he took great care of us. We shared some tapas - a little surprised at how small they were based on the price….admittedly they were extremely tasty, but I think what you’re really paying for is the location. A great place to return to sometime for a romantic meal

Omar Cardin: The service here is as good as a fine French restaurant with the ideology that plates need to be ready when the guest is ready for them and when they are done, the plate disappears. Great service, most meats just melt in the mouth. Highly recommended for sauce lovers.

Black Star Dust: Absolutely stunning place. Great service. Top tier experience. Everything was a ten. The Seafood Paella is delicious. Highly recommend that dish. It comes in different sizes for sharing. It was my bday so they brought out gratis champagne and this cheesecake that was literally the one of the most delicious desserts to grace the planet. Don’t even get me started on the churros! Amazing! I also did come in with a VIP who goes there regularly so that surely may have enhanced the experience to 10 stars!!

Rooster & Owl: what do users think?

Tilak Kalaria: Rooster & Owl is the real deal in DC. Their Michelin star is well deserved. Their ambience provides the familiar hustle and bustle of a city. Their service is incredibly top notch, I can’t over express their attention to detail. We tried absolutely everything on the menu and WOW it all packed tons of unique and delicious flavours that were exciting to try and warming in comfort. Their cocktails including their own whiskey compliment the menu excellently. We also had a delicious bottle wine. I must say their pastry chef went above and beyond for us as we took the dessert to go. I highly recommend going out of your way to experience dining at Rooster & Owl!

The Hero Signal: Fantastic experience. Came in for our anniversary, we asked our server for recommendations and everything she recommended was amazing. The portions are generally big enough to share between two people, so feel free to order different items off the menu and share with your dining partner. We enjoyed every single dish we were served, even the rolls rough to us before the meal and the cookies provided with the check. We will definitely go back next time we visit DC.

Chris Walker: Fantastic night out with some different dishes and flavors. Go with friends (at least 4) and order the whole menu! You won’t be disappointed. From the salmon, to the scallion pancake, the steak, and the carrot pasta. Well deserved Michelin Star!

Leon Lin: Decent price, large portion overall, varied service, average to good taste, might come again. This seemed like one of the better value set menu places here, and it met expectations. Liked the beef with the peanuts (was it short rib?), salad, bread, and dessert. Taste was good, and the peanut crunch contrast with the beef is a nice touch. Thought the longer peanuts with the fish were a miss, was afraid half the time I was eating a bone. Service seemed over enthusiastic at clearing my plates, perhaps since I was dining alone.

Lisa Pan: 4 course meal. It came with a Hong Kong style pineapple bun for bread and it was delicious! Each course was tasty and surprisingly filling. You can really tell the Asian inspired flavors. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu items. We picked the courses individually instead of sharing, but the plates are definitely shareable (and they recommend to). I don’t feel the need to come back and re-taste the dishes until there’s new menu items, but It’s definitely worth trying out once. The Michelin star is well deserved. We had a flight to catch within a few hours and the staff was extremely accommodating and brought out the next courses quickly. Needless to say, the service here is amazing.

Andrea Martin: Great dining experience- great service (Kai, I hope I spelled that right) and great dining experience, the flavors were great octopus ceviche was a definite standout-the menu set up is unique- 2 people get to try 50% of the taste menu for 4 courses and a set price of $85. Both cocktails were great that were tried and the drink special also came with a bottle of wine. If you are visiting DC please add this to you must try. No qualms or sad ideas when signing the check.

Diana Milena Lopez Avila: We went to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time despite the fact we had chosen the patio and it was extremely windy. Our waiter, Ralph, was very helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Because we were celebrating our anniversary we got a glass of champagne and a card signed by all the staff.

ashley sprinkel: What am amazing place! The staff was so sweet and friendly. The food was fabulous. Each course was incredible and well plated. I left full and happy. Since we went for our anniversary they greeted us with champagne and a sweet card signed by the staff. Since I don’t drink alcohol they gave me a nonalcoholic champagne. My favorite courses were the steak diane and the pistachio dacquoise. All the courses had great flavor and plating those two were just beyond delicious. I will definitely be back to enjoy a meal in the future. The outdoor patio seating was very pleasant with heaters to keep it comfortable on a chilly night.

Fiola Mare: what do users think?

Pe Lin (Cilibluebird): A five star seafood restaurant that deserves the five star. Great for special events minimum 50 USD per per person, but well deserved. Hakan was our server and he made this experience exceptional. Pasta’s are excellent. Georgetown next to water. Outside seating is great in the evenings of hot summers.

Roz Manning: Fabulous venue for our intimate wedding dinner with family. The Mermaid Room and adjoining patio were perfect. The appetizers were delicious, dinner was delectable and service superb.

Richard Holst: Elegant and delicious. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant has many quiet and corners with the perfect atmosphere. It is well organized and very clean, every inch has amazing details. The food and drink selection is extensive and everything we had was prepared to perfection. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area. We will be back here often.

Dario Camilo Barros Viñas: 5 stars for real in every aspect. It has both a very fancy area indoor and a fancy yet relaxed area in the patio. The service was amazing, the food was superb, the cocktails were delicious and generous. Canver the manager was very kind and served us the calamari complementary make us feel even better served! I didn’t know the Branzino taste this good until I tried it here. We were only two so we couldn’t try more plates but do yourself a favor and try Fiola Mare!

Alemselam Tekeba: So delicious food. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant don’t have an Apple Pay, since me and my wife use’s almost everywhere and one additional thing wore if you don’t have an ID card you can’t be served alcohol even if we look adults we felt uncomfortable but we used other credit cards to pay and we cancel my wife’s wine order. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area.

Mike: Easter brunch was amazing. Staff, as always, is fantastic.Intro: watercress soup and the other dish white asparagus.Mains: blue crab omelette and Australian lamb.Glad to see that a packed restaurant. Make reservations!

Stephan Herard: Had a really good brunch. The burrata was unique with a crispy shell on the outside and the soft mozzarella inside. The Burrata, Spring Begins dessert and Bomboloni are probably the highlights of the course.

Christopher Gillespie: All about the dining experience here, they go above and beyond. Did the bottomless brunch with amazing views. Brunch at this level of execution will be very tough to match. The blue fin ahi could be best bites of 2022 to date. The scallop crudo was melt in the mouth. Worth the price of admission.

Tash M: Had a private dinner here and it was an exceptional experience. The food was lovely, so was the service. Special thanks to Darina for being so attentive and providing an especially memorable experience.

Carmine's Italian Restaurant - Washington D.C.: what do users think?

feranda smith: The portion size of this place is HUGE! Good thing is they serve lunch sizes all day for certain items. Lasagna wasn’t one of those so this was definitely dinner and lunch for the next day. Food wasn’t bad, however, you could taste that everything basically comes from a can. Taste a lot like chef boyardee. Drinks were a bit too sweet but not terrible. The highlight was their garlic bread! Now that was amazing!!!! I could just sit, eat that, and be extremely satisfied

Albert Jonathan: Looking for an Italian food in the downtown area, and found this decent Italian restaurant. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Mark Michael Blue: Great food, however for less than 3 or 4 people not well suited. The only regular tables are available for a menu that only serves family-sizes. So if you go there alone as I did, you either have tons of leftovers or ruin every diet you’re on - also, whatever you order apart from drinks comes multiplied by 4 basically and costs accordingly. So ordering a simple garlic bread sets you back 15 USD and you get like 9 pieces. No issue if you sit at the bar to get human-sized portions, however it tainted the experience a little. Nonetheless, the food was gorgeous and the staff great!

Shad Kearns: Excellent Italian restaurant! We had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Luke Meyers: Restaurant had a good feel to it. Located in heart of DC. Food was very good and the size of portions family style. Family of 4 and we just did sides, glad we did, plenty for the empty stomachs after walking the Mall and plenty to bring back to the hotel. Place was packed and full of people. Meatballs and eggplant made the family happy. For post dining though not on the menu, a few glasses of limoncello, only the Italian might ask. Food was priced for area.

Mike Olson: First time dining and didn’t realize it’s family style but luckily I’m old enough to sit at the bar where smaller portions are offered. Ordered the Rigatoni with Broccoli and Sausage with a Red Sauce. It was a busy Saturday night and the food took longer to arrive than I’d have liked but once it did I was instantly impressed and very satisfied with the meal. Also worth mentioning that the service at the bar was exceptional and truly professional.

Kim Nguyen: Carmine’s offers family style dishes. By family style, I mean big portions. We ordered a shrimp scampi with linguine for 2 of us. We couldn’t finish half of the portion. It was huge as you can see in the photo (the knife for size preference). Carmine’s is perfect for a family of 4 or more because you can get the most for the value. Reservation is recommended.

Karoline Melo: The place is nice for a family gathering. The dishes are HUGE, really HUGE, it easily serves 5 people. Just a tip: they serve half portion of the cannoli, but you have to ask because it’s not written in the menu. The food is tasty, the chicken parmigiana is one of the best I had. The cannoli was good too!

Joyce Griffin: So much food. Serve many portions. The courses were a great variety, salads, muscles, shrimp, fish, pasta, lasagne, fresh fruit, dessert, beverage. All you could eat. Went as a group to celebrate graduation. Servers were awesome, attentive and made sure we had extra portions if we wanted. Would highly recommend even though price per person was $70. It was worth it.

Mastro's Steakhouse: what do users think?

John Darden: The steaks were cooked just right. Our waiter was polite and make our evening more enjoyable. The lobster mash potatoes had plenty of lobster meat; however, it was oily. If you like lemon drops then you should definitely try theirs because of the taste and presentation. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were huge. We had added crab meat to one of the steaks; however, we felt as though the restaurant could have included more meat relative to the cost of the dish but it was good. You can pay your bill using your phone. That was a nice touch (no need to wait for someone to come back to you) We plan on coming back.

Jaela Ford: This review is strictly for the waitress named Nicole. We would have given 5 stars if she did not taint our experience in the beginning. We were told by the hostess that she would be our “wonderful” waitress. She also came over to bring us menus and ask our water preference as if she was our waitress. However, for some odd reason the waiter was switched. When she was acting as our waitress, she was extremely short when answering our questions & seemed as though she did not want to be bothered. She also never introduced herself. We had to ask our new waiter for her name. There was absolutely nothing positive about her. It was as if she had pre judged us just because we were a table of young black women. Thankfully, our new waiter Phillip came over and saved the night. He was super welcoming and helpful. He answered all of our questions with a smile. His customer service was top tier! The drinks and food were also amazing! Thank you Phillip!

Mary McKay: We couldn’t have chosen a better establishment to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional. The service size of everything is huge! You could definitely share every course and spend half the money…or if your like us, we enjoy the left overs the best day 😍.
Response: Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us. Your satisfaction is our priority, and as affirmed by your review, we pride ourselves on our exceptional service. We sure hope to see you again soon!

Renee M: Sooo...the wagyu steak was delicious and the seared scallops were the BEST I have ever had! The sear on both dishes was perfect, the flavors were on point, and the meat melted in my mouth like butter! The drinks were CRAZY good, like strong, but made with appreciation for the full flavor profile vs just the liquor. Our server, Rice, aka the Tony Baker look a like was on it. He was very attentive and gave us great suggestions. We have 4 sides, 2 were bomb and 2 were not. The roasted brussels a sprouts and the cream spinach were tasty. The cream corn was gross and the lobster mac was under whelming. For $40 a side I would like more flavor. The atmosphere was cool. The live singer was entertaining and awkward. I would go back just to chill at the bar.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It means so much when our customers share their experiences. We are glad we were able to meet your expectations! We hope to see you again soon!

Zaytinya by José Andrés: what do users think?

Tilak Kalaria: Had an excellent experience at Zaytinya by Jose Andres. The food was very tasteful and unique. The cocktails were delicious and so was the wine. The menu was expansive so our large group decided on a tasting menu and it was awesome. The tasting menu was vast for the price, we got to try a little big of everything and it all tasted great. Service was slow at the beginning but after we got our first round of drinks the attention to detail picked up. I would normally comment on the dishes I really enjoy but I tried so many things it would be hard to choose. Definitely a spot to check out for some Mediterranean cuisine and I highly recommend it.

Maria Rock: Wow! 🎶 Everything was fantastic. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed such a wonderful meal. We had a reservation for an afternoon lunch. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. The wait staff was courteous and efficient. We let our daughter, Julia, order for our table; everything she suggested was delicious and cooked to perfection. The pacing of the dishes was nice as well; a few dishes were brought out at a time. We weren’t rushed and plates were cleared away between courses. We were there just over an hour and even had dessert. I can’t wait to go again. ✨

Julia Cheung: Food is really fresh and the portions are decent. But it’s a crowded and loud restaurant and when we got to the table for four, which we had reserved, I couldn’t even fit into my seat and I’m not overweight. They had to shift the table for me. Then the food just didn’t fit onto the table top. Since it’s small plates, I would expect there to be more space for all the small plates to fit. The vibe and decor is pretty cool, but I just expected a more polished experience for the price. That said, the food is really well flavored and fresh and I would go back if I were looking for a convenient happy hour place or just needed to meet up with someone. But not for a special occasion.

Yuntian Lu: The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered several small plates and my favorite were the seared halloumi and the taramosalata (cured carp roe spread - trust me, you will think this is ice cream if no one tells you this is fish egg in the first place). Although the portion was small, they were not pricey and we were able to try many different options. The server was very friendly and made recommendations for our first visit. I’d definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in cuisines around the Mediterranean region.

Gene Farberov: Great restaurant, always packed, reservation recommended. The food is really good its a mixed Greek, Lebanese and some other country kitchen by a celeb chef. The food was really good, the presentation and the taste is a must try for sure. We got good service and really liked our waiter, he made some recommendations on the cocktails which we enjoyed. I will be back on my next trip to Washington DC.

Djordjiana Buric: Mediterranean restaurant by famous Jose Andres, with authentic music in an open high ceiling beautiful space. Food has special spices and therefore different tastes. Warm tin bread with dipping in olive oil to start. Ship with garlic , octopus is delicious so is the chicken soup not traditional taste but different with lemon and egg. Great to try all these completely different tastes. Service is kind but a bit slow so make sure you are not in a rush. Once ordered food comes quickly.

Lyl Rose: I’m a huge fan of JA and determined to eat at every restaurant he has if possible. This was the third I’ve tried when visiting DC. Definitely did not disappoint! Everything top notch. Nice non alcoholic beverage selection. Fresh ingredients in unique dishes bursting with flavor and richness. Can’t go wrong. Service was great. Decent portions and reasonably priced. Easy to eat too much! One day I’ll save room for dessert.

Genesis Christina: This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Washington DC, my fiance and I were so fortunate to stumble across this place. We tried the tasting menu and it was so amazing that we went back on our last day to try more entrees. The service is unmatched and the servers make some great recommendations. Definitely would recommend this cute spot!

Le Diplomate: what do users think?

Thang Phu: Highly recommended! We stopped by for a late afternoon food one day and was amazed at how fantastic the food is. It was all so good, especially their desserts. I have travelled to multiple regions in France and I can attest the food here tastes the closest to food in France. They even have a wine carafe on the menu, just like France. I wished I lived near here so I could go treat myself now and then.
Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review, Thang. We’re excited that you found our food and service to be five-star worthy. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future at Le Diplomate.

mike wittenburg: Five Stars for the food and the atmosphere. Visited on a busy Saturday evening and got a table without a reservation, amazing. So much seating available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Went with a couple of friends and the drinks and food were fabulous. Tuna dish is a small serving. Trout was great and the muscles were awesome. Apple dessert and vanilla creme brulee delicious. Definitely a popular spot. And the bread... So much bread... Good variety of bread to choose from. Enjoy!
Response: mike, we’re pleased to know you had a great experience at Le Diplomate. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lediplomatedc to keep in touch on Instagram!

Daae Katsicoyannis: The meal was incredible. I recommend going with friends and sharing everything. The service was also impeccable. You can tell that all ingredients at this restaurant are fresh and of excellent quality. It’s rare to find such an approachable restaurant of this league. I would recommend to anyone.
Response: Daae, we’re pleased to know you had a great experience at Le Diplomate. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lediplomatedc to keep in touch on Instagram!

brian perkins: Loved this place for a few reasons. Let’s start with the bread. Why can’t all restaurants serve great, fresh, delicious bread? Because it’s not easy. I pictured the empty escargot plate because after dipping the bread in the garlic sauce it was game over. Add onion soup, superb steak frites, profiteroles to die for and you have a neighborhood gem. Not to mention the wait staff gives treats to dogs being walked by the restaurants. How great is that?!
Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review, brian. We’re excited that you found our food and service to be five-star worthy. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future at Le Diplomate.

Rob: The food and ambiance are always great. However, on multiple occasions, I’ve felt that the service is not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Last time I felt a bit rushed and the service, while attentive, was curt. When our entrees arrived, a waiter couldn’t fully reach to place my friend’s plate in front of him. Rather then walk around the table (there was space), the waiter placed it on the table and gave the plate a quick flick of the wrist to push it over. It’s a small example but I think captures a similar sentiment seen in other reviews about the service.
Response: Rob, we're happy to know you had a positive experience at Le Diplomate and appreciate your feedback on how we can improve. Hopefully, we have another opportunity to serve you in the future so we can earn that last star!

Karissa Warren: Had an awesome food experience on New Years! Was a little disappointed they didn’t have their usual pastry assortment but every single item we got was delicious!! We really came for the pastries and croissants but were blown away by the food! If you want an authentic French croissant, they’ve got you covered! We will definitely be back!
Response: Karissa, 5-star experiences are what we strive for day in and day out here at Le Diplomate. Thank you for the great feedback and we'll hopefully see you again soon!

Dee Ketterman: We’ve eaten here twice and love the food and decor. The feel of the restaurant more resembles an upscale bar with delicious food, as most people are standing and drinking rather than eating. I’d like to try sitting at the bar because I think it’d be a better experience to fit the atmosphere over a low table with people standing all around. The mushroom tart is fantastic and the French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! The service was dressed appropriately but less attentive than expected, most likely because of how busy it seems to get. Regardless, I really like the food and hope to visit again soon.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your recent visit to Le Diplomate, Dee. Our staff works incredibly hard to ensure our guests have the best dining experience. We hope to see you back very soon and to earn that extra star!

Bibiana Oe: Very cute upscale dining experience! The waiter had many recommendations that were appealing. The bread with the butter is amazing! Ordered assorted oysters, mushroom tart, beef bourguignon, mussels and frites, and the profiteroles. Loved everything and it was good portions! Recommend for a lovely cozy dining in experience since the bar and inside of the restaurant is super unique!
Response: We're happy to know you had a positive experience at Le Diplomate and appreciate your feedback on how we can improve. Hopefully, we have another opportunity to serve you in the future so we can earn that last star!

The Palm - Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Cindee Sheeler: First time visiting for a friends birthday..Was absolutely amazing. Reggie and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and very personable. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Upscale dining with an old world vibe, but not stuffy and pretentious. Reggie and a staff member sang to my friend for her birthday and they were wonderful..

Ryan Arnt: Great food, eclectic atmosphere a Steakhouse that sets the bar high. If you get a chance make sure you eat here.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It means so much when our customers share their experiences. We are glad we were able to meet your expectations! We hope to see you again soon!

rob santiago: It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Kylie was extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations. She understood exactly how I wanted a monkey shoulder rusty nail and that nailed the night for me. I will be back.

Marie A Smith Robinson: The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant. The walls are filled with cartoon sketches of notable people. I would not recommend the seafood dishes, we had the calamari and lobster bisque, they were subpar. We sent back the calamari and the lobster bisque was barely warm. Raisin bread was phonmenal. The steak was excellent mashed potato and asparagus accompanied it well.

Jessica Kelley: Requested a high top, and mentioned a true dairy allergy.. aka anaphylactic shocked and they didn’t Acknowledge either.. even though I made a reservation & made sure to mention this. Also was told to bad we are busy for my high top. My drinks took 20 minutes to get as well! Not a good place for date night unless you want disappointment

André Hentz: The service, food, and ambiance is fantastic. We recently celebrated our anniversary at The Palm, and will dine there again for sure.

Andre Monette: Zero stars, very disappointed with my experience here. Called at 8:30 to get a reservation and arrived at 8:45 to be told they close at 9:00 and they could not seat 4 people because they are closing. Really not what I would expect out of a place that bills itself as a go to steak house. Food is mediocre at best, will not return. Bummer because I used to enjoy it pre-Covid. This is the worst review I have ever given.

Gentle John: Good food as you would expect. Our waiter seemed a bit distracted
Response: Thank you for your review. We’re glad you had a good experience and hope to see you again soon!

Pineapple and Pearls: what do users think?

Kiran Mand: Not impressed at all. The food was just ok some of it was actually not good. The service was slow. We missed out on some of the extras that they gave the tables around us and when we left we came home with a box that was for a different table with their pictures in them. We had to beg for the check after almost 3 hours. Definitely not worth the hefty price tag. I will not be back.

AlixTakesaBite: Amazing experience at the chefs counter! We got 10 courses and each bite was filled with unique texture and flavor combinations. Service was also flawless, which is to be expected from a two Michelin star restaurant. It really held up to the hype. I highly recommend! ig: @whetyourappetites

Andrew Pitts: Absolutely unbelievable dining experience. From the moment you walk in and are greeted with a smile and a glass of champagne, to the exit gift, P&P delivered an extraordinary meal from start to finish! Thank you!

rebecca weaver: Everything was amazing. My personal favorite was the breakfast, which was a sourdough french toast with blue cheese and truffle, and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The entire experience was simply Devine. Since we went to celebrate a birthday, we even got a parting gift of a signed menu, a pineapple candy shaped as a pearl, and they made a donation for each guest. I would definitely go back to celebrate another event.

Robert Ames: Get ready for a truly special and enjoyable evening. A truly memorable experience. As soon as you enter Pineapple and Pearls, they make it clear this is your night and they are there to take care of you. We were started with a delicious white tea while we waited and then were seated in the beautiful dining area. You will be stricken by how quiet it is despite the chefs working right there. They demonstrate discipline. There is no drama here. Just absolute focus on making delicious courses. We traveled along a 10 or so tasting course. Each course is gorgeous looking. Served beautifully and delicious. The pairings - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic were spot on. What I like is it’s not just wine on the alcohol side. They had some truly delicious and unique ciders tonight and a smoked beer that was perfect. We loved all the dishes. I would say that we enjoyed the desserts more on our last visit. They were more innovative and surprising. These weren’t bad, they just weren’t sensational. They focus on taking care of any dietary concerns. In fact, you hear the entire chef gang calling and repeating the needs of each visitor as they begin. It was a beautiful evening. Fit for a special occasion.

arun varughese: Interesting high end restaurant for Arabic/Mediterranean cuisine but nothing that justifies the Michelin level prices. I tried Omani shrimp and lamb kebab. Both were excellent dishes. The lamb kebab was perfectly cooked and very tender unlike chewy lamb in other places. The shrimp had a very smoky flavor. Their bread was fresh and had a very unique taste. I loved it. The restaurant has the dishes of Arabic cuisine but not the grandness. Their dishes are small plates but the price is similar to large plates of other similar themed restaurants. Overall, It’s a wonderful restaurant with excellent dishes but the price is definitely not justified. They don’t use rare ingredients like caviar, truffle etc. like other Michelin restaurants.

Shamsher: Let me just start by saying this, I have been to several fine dine restaurants in DC and this is the only place that does justice to the money it asks for. What an experience! Let me say that again a little louder… WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! Just everything is excellent. Excellent service starting with the utmost level of courtesy I have seen with the staff. Very emotional intelligent staff which is rare. The level of detail they all have in describing the food is beyond impressive. Their mindfulness is incredible. I wish I could give only the service 10+ stars. The food was incredible. Everything in this three course meal. The apps were fresh, crispy and each of the condiments were so distinct and flavorful. The lamb was amazingly cooked. Smoky and mild just the way I love a nice grilled piece of lamb shoulder. The kebabs were outstanding. Specially the beef kebab. The amount of taste and texture on that kebab was outstanding. The desserts were not super impressive but I can get down with that as I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Maydan should be a must experience for all restaurant goers. Again, the only fine dining and Michelin star place I have been that does justice to the money it asks for.

Tala Mahmoud: Hands down one of the best food spots in DC. The meat was incredibly tender and full of unique flavors. The dips and condiments complimented the rest of the food exceptionally. Highly recommended.

Zeyu Hu: Eating at Maydan is a culinary journey. It is a journey into middle eastern cuisine that makes you satisfied when you leave. I highly recommend getting the Tawle, which is a 4 course meal and gives you a huge variety of food. You start off with things “From the Kitchen” which is a variety of pickled veggies, honey dates, herb plate, and cauliflower Tabboulet. In addition a variety of spreads including Hummus, Muhamarra, and Walnut Casik. These were an amazing introduction and each complimented each other very well. Next was “From the Fire” which included a beef and chicken kabob, halloumi, and seasonally roasted veggies (asparagus in this case). Wrapping these in the warm bread that was provided was so good. Finally the center plate - which we got lamb shoulder was phenomenal. It was fall off the bone and the meat melts in your mouth. It was a huge portion which we weren’t able to finish so had to take it back home for lunch the next day. When we thought that was the end of the meal, we got a surprise course of dessert. It was a nice cake and a great moose. It wasn’t that sweet so it balanced the end of the meal perfectly. Highly recommend visiting this place and the service was impeccable. The Michelin Star is for sure deserved. Be sure to make reservations right as they open as it gets booked out very fast!

Hanna Ozbeki: came here for brunch and it was great! we did tapas style and it worked out for us even with the larger plates. we got the brussels sprouts, caluflower, patatas bravas , arugula salad, chorizo hash and hanger steak and eggs the star of the brunch were the steak and eggs everything else was good, but the patatas braves were not my favorite compared to everything else on the table service was great! quick, respectful, and mindful of our requests!

Da-Wang Wu: Some dishes are good (e.g., cauliflowers, shishito peppers, shrimps, cheesecake, churros), but others are just okay (e.g., steaks with blue cheese, fried potatoes, mussels). Since it’s tapas style, it’s better to order dishes by batch vs. all at once. Outdoor dining space is available. It can be a bit pricy for a casual Friday dinner.

Shalini: Perfect place for the first in person meeting with my team! The food here is fantastic. I loved the Bomba rice which is a rich but not too heavy and has umami-ness from the mushroom, truffle and manchego cheese. The corn was my next on my list of favorites followed by shishito peppers (decadent pepper aioli on the side), crispy cauliflower which was good. The churros were amazing- they were served with dark chocolate sprinkled with sea salt on the side, were perfectly crispy on the outside soft on the inside and not cloyingly sweet. Good service and recommendations as well!

Genesis Christina: First time eating here and YOU have to go, the ambiance is so welcoming and warm. The food is to die for! Great prices and you are able to try so many different plates because of the sizes! If you are looking for smaller plates snacks you have to go here. If you are a fan of butternut squash, you need to try their butternut squash soup! The customer service was also amazing, our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. 100% recommend!

Martha M. Castro: Food is on point. Food is spectacular and fresh, with plates for every taste. Service is very friendly and very helpful. Drinks exceeded expectations.

Emily Crisan: Amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere! Do yourself a favor and get the grilled octopus and the braised short rib! Wonderful dinner and will definitely be back!

Colvin Will Do It: This is such a great restaurant!! The little portions are how I think American portions should be as well. I took my wife out to eat a great dinner and we were not disappointed. It was expensive but we knew that walking in.

Kaylun Draughn: Food and service were impressive. We ordered the octopus, mussels, arugula salad, duck, and crispy pork belly. Everything was cooked to perfection and came out pretty quickly. The churros were good but crispier than I typically like. I can’t wait to go back!

Jacob Fitzpatrick: Estadio has an outstanding menu that is small enough to navigate, but large enough to find something for all tastes. The unique tapas range from vegetarian flavors to unusual meats - but all with roots to Spain (and Basque Country). The vibe is hip and fun, but not overpowering or too loud. A definite DC gem!

Brandon Richardson: Yummy Tapas place. Indoor and outdoor seating. Mask required. The crispy cauliflower and chicken tapas were great! Well seasoned and delicious!

Lesia Zintchouk: Very nicely designed restaurant offering traditional Georgian (country Georgia) cuisine and special selection of qvevri wines. Yummy dishes, crafted with love and homemade family feel. Many choices on the menu for vegetarians and gluten-free or a bit of everything for omnivores like myself. Big fancy glasses for the wines full of big flavor. Love, love, love Georgian wines and welcoming customs. Well maintained and well staffed, beautiful restaurant.
Response: Hey Lesia- thank you so much for your thoughtful review and we're so happy you enjoyed.

Sam M: I never had Georgian cuisine, but it was very delicious. I walked into this restaurant and notice that the place is really clean and roomy. They also have outdoor seating available. I enjoyed pretty much all the dishes that I ordered from here. I started my brunch with salad and yogurt dishes which were light and delightful. Khinkali, which is huge Georgian dumpling with either meat or potato and cheese, was really good and very filling. But the star of the show was Ajaruli! It is a boat shaped bread with cheese, egg, and butter on top. The waiter mixed those ingredients right in front of me and it was quiet entertaining. This was definitely my favorite dish! The bread was soft and the cheese and egg mix was phenomenal. Also, if you were planning to order soft drinks, I would recommend ordering one of their pear flavored soda! Really refreshing. Overall, I had a great experience from here and definitely plan to come back sometime soon.
Response: Hey, Sang, thanks so much for your detailed review and we're so happy that you loved brunch. Come and see us for a happy hour ajaruli next time!

Sam Askenas: Georgian food is delicious. Everything was coooked perfectly with the appropriate amount of cheesiness. We opted for the more traditional dishes with less of the fanfare, and we were very pleased. The drinks were lovely. Big bramble guys
Response: Hey Sam- we're so glad you enjoyed!

AJ Martinez: The service was excellent. The soup dumplings tasted amazing, I just wish someone would have told us how to eat them. The veggie platter had good variety but the flavor was nothing special. The sausage tasted very good.
Response: Thanks so much, AJ, for the feedback and compliments! We can't wait to have you back.

Naomi: Came in for restaurant week. Definitely the best introduction to Georgian cuisine one could ask for! Great service and delicious food. Make sure to sneak around the corner and see the murals at the bar!

Fiorella Hidalgo: Went during Restaurant Week to celebrate with my boyfriend. The food was so outstanding, the flavors were so rich and felt somewhat homey (which is weird because I’m from South America hahah, maybe was the cornmeal bread-mchadi that tastes exactly like Ecuadorian tortilla de maíz!!!). Service 10/10 our server was so nice and funny, great recommendation for drinks. Cocktail not pictured and if you are not a fan of beer, their Ukrainian beer was really good (coming from a non beer drinker lol). Coming back soon to celebrate my birthday! Hahah
Response: Hey Fiorella, we're so happy to hear that you enjoyed and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Join us for Happy Hour sometime from 5-7pm at the bar!

cassandra bierworth: Wonderful place! The wait staff is amazing and so attentive. They will help answer any questions you have. The food was great! It was exciting trying different dishes and the cocktails were nice as well.
Response: Hey Cassandra, we're so happy to hear that you enjoyed and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Join us for Happy Hour sometime from 5-7pm at the bar!

Cobun Zweifel-Keegan: Friendly atmosphere, wonderful food. Great for a satisfying warm brunch on a cold day. The soup dumplings are made with thick homemade dough. Tasty!
Response: Thanks Cobun, we're so thrilled that you enjoyed. Hope to have you back for our weekday Happy Hour from 5pm-7pm at the bar!
