natalie: I always love going here. The students and staff are pleasant, I really enjoy the way they compliment one another, that can be so important to a person to hear that someone liked what they did or what they are doing. A compliment can go a long way.
R.L. D: This place apparently passes off your social and any other information that you give the to a third party. I moved from another state and had to get my id mailed to the new state that I moved to and I has a Maryland address. They said 5 different reasons that why my identification was no good and apparent it was. The “third” party service that they use without permission because I never signed any paperwork giving the Bennett career institute permission to send my sensitive information to a party of people that has nothing to do with this establishment. I pray that there is no fraud on my credit and social. I do not know who this processor is and nor will “doctor” Bonita branch, nor will the head of administrations at this office provide me with who these people are. This school is extremely fishy and if you value your personal information don’t apply or go to this school.
Deborah Simms: Excellent service and stylist are courtesy to customers concerns for satisfactory appearances .
Wendy W: I have been coming here for years; the students change and so have the instructors, BUT the level of professionalism and quality of service has not. Their work often surpasses profession beauty salons which are much pricier. You get a great deal in a real quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
Schiieyenne Parker-Bowser: Ms. Polite is rude as hell. I called a phone number that my child called me from and asked a question and she got so rude. She is a supposedly student at the Bennet Hair School/Institute on Monroe street in DC. I was disrespected and rudely treated. She is not someone to go to to get her hair done, if that’s her real name. To be polite is totally different from what this person gave, horribly disrespectful.
Tracy Cross Lucas: Always have a great experience here except after COVID. Website is NOT updated. Went after taking Friday off to be informed that I needed an appointment-not on website-other services, like eyebrow waxing are not offered-COVID and not listed on website AND they are now closed on SATURDAY. I was informed this by the woman at the service window. Please update the site. Another person walked in after me, without an appointment, and had to go through the same ordeal. That sucks.
Sandra Jenkins: Got to my appointment early. Staff was kind enough to start servicing me before my scheduled appointment. Due to shortage of students staff pitched in to service clients. Got finished in very timely manner.

Caitlin Rogalski: Myesha and the whole team on the spa side of the house are amazing. The Beyond Botox and hydrafacial are life changing and so well priced. I laughed and took a few years off. Highly recommend! Not a better deal in DC.
Marcellus Smith: Im writing this review for my friend who wanted to stay announced, I was a client this evening and I’m appalled . Two clients came in with special needs one appeared to be deef and I believe blind. I over heard that she was getting her hair done for her birthday. How special. I witnessed the students but mainly the staff laughing and making jokes about them. The nice young lady who styled her hair was the only one that treated this young lady with dignity and the respect that she deserved. The helper that came with the client (not making assumptions )appeared to be apart of the LGBQ community. I witnessed staff talk negatively about him/her as he/she got up with his walking cane to use the restroom. This is the most unprofessional environment I have ever been. I will be reporting this to the media. I do not recommend anyone to receive services at this school. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this hair school especially those with special needs. I’m so sad.
Acee Holmes: Talena did a great job on my facial. Told me everting that will help me with my acne. Awesome job Talena keep up the good work.
T Stiverson: I loved being in this space. Everyone was professional and thorough, especially Diana and instructor Camden. Diana was easy to talk to and connect with, and she really took the time to make sure my hair was cut and styled in the way I wanted it to be. I opted out of blow drying and she braided my hair instead. The braiding may seem to be a minuscule detail, but it made a big difference on my final look and feel walking out of the salon. THANK YOU BOTH :)
Jess: I went here to get my hair done for a friends wedding and it came out wonderfully. Because it turned out so great for such a great price I agreed to have my hair done again for another friends wedding today. The woman I had seen had scheduled me for today at 2:30 PM. Initially for my first appointment I had received a confirmation call and when I realized I hadn’t received a confirmation call for this second appointment I tried to call the Academy about seven different times today. No one picked up so I ended up driving over and of course the entire salon was closed and I was not able to get my hair done despite being told that I was scheduled for this date at this time in person when I had lost come in. Very annoyed.
Alicia Hughes: I’ve been coming here for a few years on and off but ever since I’ve had the pleasure of having Cherie do my hair I’ve been coming more often! She always does an amazing job and she has a great personality! We talk about anything and everything which makes the time go by fast. I also love the salon and the instructors are also great. :)
Jessica Anderson: I wish I actually COULD rate but I made an appointment a few days in advance. I confirmed by text and email multiple times and then 15 mins before my appointment they called to cancel my appointment saying they didn’t have enough students. I don’t live in DC so I was already 5mins away. I’ve gone to beauty schools for years and this was never a problem and so disappointed because it’s hard to get a same day hair appointment now.
Allison Whitney: I made an appointment at TSPA a couple weeks ago for a haircut and Gianni did an amazing job! I have long wavy hair and the layers and styling looked incredible for such an affordable price. Unlike other salons, no one was pushy about purchasing overpriced hair products. Gianni gave a soothing scalp massage while shampooing my hair, so great that I went back 2 weeks later just for a shampoo and blow dry. Highly recommend Gianni and TSPA to anyone as it’s now become my go to spot.

Hyun Yang: This is a few months short of the actual service but one review I felt I needed to share. Went in to get a hair color and haircut done but was rescheduled twice before my actual appointment due to student cancellations/the other a snow delay. Finally went in for service and settled on what color I wanted and the look I desired (showed picture up front). The stylist and I discussed what I wanted which was a balayage look but then decided mutually to do a mushroom brown coloring to the whole head (again photo brought out to show after switching from the balayage look). So the stylist began work and we chitchatted for a long time and as I was checking in with the stylist, she seemed to be frazzled with her progress so the professional stepped in and tried to help. I saw that she began bleaching my hair (which first of all was unnecessary) and second, she had me foiled up with bleached hair for a total of 1 hour!! I saw as she peeled the foil what color came out and it was totally blonde!! I was dumbfounded and utterly speechless. I asked if that was the final color and she said it would be okay and looked great. They had me at the shop until close from 5-10pm for what? Unnecessary time, damage to my hair and just utterly the worst hair care experience of my entire 30+years of life. The stylist also did not give me a haircut which I had already paid for. I ended up leaving the shop with bleached blonde hair that I did not ever request (how can someone think mushroom brown was blonde???) and also no haircut…. Had called the manager to complain and all she said was that I signed a waiver in the beginning understanding that these are students and there is no refund. I totally understand this but there should be some adjustment for a failed hair experience and they should not charge for a redo. I finally ended going back but it still did not measure up to what I wanted and left me VERY unsatisfied and terribly disappointed and ontop paid an extra $20 (materials fee) after the initial $105 charge from the failed first hair dye and haircut. Will never go back and hope that you reconsider where you spend your precious time and money!
Sarai Brown: Alumni student. While attending I was facing hardships that left me homeless… the “learning leaders” reported me, saying they collectively did not like my negativity attitude which was identified as negative simply because I did not smile while walking the halls. (I have email correspondence) Additionally, after learning about relaxers I decided to cut mine out & one of the biracial African American leaders told me not to because “I wouldn’t know how to do my hair”.
soha firoozeh: “A style by Zahra (Pearl) is a wonderful experience, Zahra is awesome. I trust her and always receive complements on how I look. Thank You!”Thank You for being the best hairdresser in the World! ” “Great experience at Paul Mitchell Hair Studio, wonderful customer service, friendly people and amazing styles!”
Whippet Wuver: I wish there were more than 5 stars --this place is fabulous!!! I lucked into having Rob as my stylist. He gave me the most wonderful haircut and showed me some time saving styling techniques that really work. He used some new-to-me hair products which worked great - all the while teaching me why they worked so well without the hard sell that one usually gets at even the best salons. This young artist has a very, very bright future! The rest of the staff, from the supervisors to the receptionists were so friendly and polite, and the prices are more than excellent. I left there feeling so good that I could have floated on cloud nine all the way home.
Matthew McGarry: Every time I have come here, the front end staff have been nothing but rude! This school does a fine job prepping students for their careers in cutting hair but only that. It is clear that many students do not know the main points of customer service. Additionally, it recently snowed in the DC metro, and I was not notified that all appointments had been canceled. After driving in the weather to get to my appointment, I was rudely told that no one was there. The front end student was annoyed that I disturbed her FaceTime call. Again, not what I would think to expect in a professional work environment.

Joe Trieu: We have been members for nearly 15 years and will continue to be a member as long as we are in the industry. AACS does an amazing job helping our schools grow and improve to become better. They also are incredible advocates for our students on both the national and state level. If you are a beauty school, you need to be part of this group! Keep up the great work!

Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!
Yesly Turcios: GLEN DOMINA rudest person ever if you are working under a facility and a Student is inquiring on information/assistance you should be able to provide that at your upmost ability but unfortunately that was not the case here..
Danny Hirschfield: I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.
Jamilya Allen: Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.
h T: This University has only good professors! But getting a Bachelor from the UDC will not get you a job!! Their jobs faire is just to get a website from the companies and brochures lol!
Jordan Stewart: The financial aid lady with gray hair and dreads is disrespectful af. Most of the staff here are disorganized and rude. I disenrolled 2 months ago. When I went to disenroll the lady was eating crab legs in front of me. Come to find out she never really disenrolled me, and I had to go back up there today. Smh. I really wanted this to work bc I’m a Dc Resident but I’m enrolling at PGCC.
