Lebanese Taverna: what do users think?

Victor Wang: Ordered a taverna platter with shawarma (lamb) and it was a lovely combination of rice, salad, lamb, and hummus. The free bread is beautiful and light/fluffy. Prices are reasonable and plenty of space indoors and outdoors. We even were able to stay until after closing to just chat.

julee wooley: The hommus and Baba Ghannouge were excellent! I had a favorite in Chicago and now I’ve finally found one as great here in Silver Spring Maryland. The pick your platter was the perfect option for me, it was about three meals worth of food! Very impressed with quality and quantity!

James Bacon: Lebenesse Taverna A lovely restaurant space with a vaulted curved high ceiling, nicely furnished and finished, airy and comfortable. Prompt friendly service follows smoothly, but with no pressure at all. (We were awaiting a 4th person who we ultimately did take away for - this was neither an issue or problem, and demonstrates a dynamic approach to customer service from Mustafa our server) The humus with lamb shawarma, baba ganoush and the arnabeet; cauliflower chickpeas, tahini and pine nuts starters was delicious and with hot pitta and oil a substantial starter. The chicken shawarma sandwich with salad was delicious, the chicken was marinated and in a lovely sauce. The chicken curry was mild but flavoursome, while the lamb and artichoke stew had a lovely fruity hint to it, and proved the unusual but very tasty surprise. To end they kindly brought us the baklava without ice-cream as we could just about share it. Loved this service. Excitingly they were hot, and very delicious. We will return here for sure.

Edward Amartey-Tagoe: Choose between indoors and outdoors. A good sport to have brunch and meet up with friends close to the mall. The food was great but the service/waiting did not match the cuisine. Parking around this area is hard to find. Consider ride-sharing.

Anna Barrett: Good food, good service. They have hand washing station right outside the bathroom, which works well during the pandemic. Their lamb was very tasty

Tara McGee: Fabulous food, excellent service and atmosphere. I particularly recommend the Chef’s Platter and the Spicy Hummus. Yum!

Amanda: Thank you to Noor, my server. A great host, and friendly, who gave several recommendations to this traveler. The food was hot, delicious, and served within an appropriate time. The environment was clean and comfortable, the aesthetic dim and romantic, with just a dash of swank. Open, but not too open as to be left out in space. Cozy but not on top of one another where you have to keep your voice low - still enough privacy between tables. Bathrooms were clean and modern. A nice glass of wine, baklava, and a chance to try Ouzo were wonderful surprises. Thank you Lebanese Taverna.

ilili Restaurant DC: what do users think?

Megan Gold: This is by far the best restaurant in DC! I go out to eat a LOT so claiming this is huge. The aesthetics/ design is so beautiful. I felt like I was transported to a garden but indoors! The customer service was perfect! Our server gave us great suggestions and was always checking in. The food was to die for! From the meats, to the salads and even the puffy bread they serve…perfect 👌🏼 🏻 Drinks were also perfect! One thing though…I wish they did something for my boyfriends birthday. Maybe they forgot but that would have made it even more special. I can’t wait to go back!

Dondré: Definitely have to go back for the meat platter. I went with the fish. It was alright but my mistake was not going for the actual meat. The venue is nice. Great views, great location to walk around before or after your meal. The service was fantastic, had zero issues, our waiter was great. All the sides were really good. Definitely stop in for a unique blend of flavors.

Arissa Saad: Had dinner here and the food was fantastic. You need to order hummus, it was so creamy and smooth topped with pine nuts….we’re still thinking about the hummus! We wanted to try the mixed grill but we came late so our waiter, Charles recommended the chicken instead and he was right, it was juicy and flavorful. We had the chicken with restaurant’s signature rice and not to forget, fig sauce was so mouthwatering! The restaurant and Charles complimentary us with baklava for the celebration which was also very good! Our waiter, Charles was so friendly, thank you Charles again for making mothers day very special and memorable for us!

Rimmi Ann Mathews: If only I could give them 10 stars. Took my out of town friends for their first Lebanese food experience. Our server Israel was super attentive and super knowledgeable. He explained and shared his knowledge about food and wine with us through out our meal. His positive energy and personality was cherry on top. Also Dris (sorry if I misspelled his name) Super attentive and was so helpful throughout the night. We really appreciated the service and can’t wait to come back to sit in their sections again.

Dave Verma: My son made the recommendation to have Sunday Brunch here. I will keep this review short and sweet. This place has great food and service and is a find. I would recommend this place highly for their great food. I had the eggs Benedict and it was finger licking good. I don’t really have anything negative to report here. Happy eating.

Jessica Kleist: Great experience! The location and ambiance was wonderful and I enjoyed all of the dishes ordered. The carrots and the eggplant dish definitely had a wow factor. The hummus, beets, meatballs, and Brussel sprouts were very good but tasted more common given the price, keeping my rating at 4 instead of 5 stars. The overall experience was great and I would dine here again.

Stephanie W: Charles, our server this evening was excellent! He is knowledgeable with the food menu and cocktail/wine selection. He explained everything to us and was very friendly, which made our dining experience even better. It was our first time dining at a Lebanese restaurant and we weren’t sure what to order. From beginning to end, Charles recommendations exceeded our expectations. We will definitely recommend ilili to our friends and look forward to dine again.

Stefano De Cupis: We celebrated New Year’s Eve at ilili Restaurant DC. The location is marvelous and spacious. They served stylish Lebanese cuisine including meat & seafood. Service is fast and the live music + DJ really made the New Year memorable.

Zaytinya by José Andrés: what do users think?

Tilak Kalaria: Had an excellent experience at Zaytinya by Jose Andres. The food was very tasteful and unique. The cocktails were delicious and so was the wine. The menu was expansive so our large group decided on a tasting menu and it was awesome. The tasting menu was vast for the price, we got to try a little big of everything and it all tasted great. Service was slow at the beginning but after we got our first round of drinks the attention to detail picked up. I would normally comment on the dishes I really enjoy but I tried so many things it would be hard to choose. Definitely a spot to check out for some Mediterranean cuisine and I highly recommend it.

Maria Rock: Wow! 🎶 Everything was fantastic. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed such a wonderful meal. We had a reservation for an afternoon lunch. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. The wait staff was courteous and efficient. We let our daughter, Julia, order for our table; everything she suggested was delicious and cooked to perfection. The pacing of the dishes was nice as well; a few dishes were brought out at a time. We weren’t rushed and plates were cleared away between courses. We were there just over an hour and even had dessert. I can’t wait to go again. ✨

Julia Cheung: Food is really fresh and the portions are decent. But it’s a crowded and loud restaurant and when we got to the table for four, which we had reserved, I couldn’t even fit into my seat and I’m not overweight. They had to shift the table for me. Then the food just didn’t fit onto the table top. Since it’s small plates, I would expect there to be more space for all the small plates to fit. The vibe and decor is pretty cool, but I just expected a more polished experience for the price. That said, the food is really well flavored and fresh and I would go back if I were looking for a convenient happy hour place or just needed to meet up with someone. But not for a special occasion.

Yuntian Lu: The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered several small plates and my favorite were the seared halloumi and the taramosalata (cured carp roe spread - trust me, you will think this is ice cream if no one tells you this is fish egg in the first place). Although the portion was small, they were not pricey and we were able to try many different options. The server was very friendly and made recommendations for our first visit. I’d definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in cuisines around the Mediterranean region.

Gene Farberov: Great restaurant, always packed, reservation recommended. The food is really good its a mixed Greek, Lebanese and some other country kitchen by a celeb chef. The food was really good, the presentation and the taste is a must try for sure. We got good service and really liked our waiter, he made some recommendations on the cocktails which we enjoyed. I will be back on my next trip to Washington DC.

Djordjiana Buric: Mediterranean restaurant by famous Jose Andres, with authentic music in an open high ceiling beautiful space. Food has special spices and therefore different tastes. Warm tin bread with dipping in olive oil to start. Ship with garlic , octopus is delicious so is the chicken soup not traditional taste but different with lemon and egg. Great to try all these completely different tastes. Service is kind but a bit slow so make sure you are not in a rush. Once ordered food comes quickly.

Lyl Rose: I’m a huge fan of JA and determined to eat at every restaurant he has if possible. This was the third I’ve tried when visiting DC. Definitely did not disappoint! Everything top notch. Nice non alcoholic beverage selection. Fresh ingredients in unique dishes bursting with flavor and richness. Can’t go wrong. Service was great. Decent portions and reasonably priced. Easy to eat too much! One day I’ll save room for dessert.

Genesis Christina: This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Washington DC, my fiance and I were so fortunate to stumble across this place. We tried the tasting menu and it was so amazing that we went back on our last day to try more entrees. The service is unmatched and the servers make some great recommendations. Definitely would recommend this cute spot!

Shawarma District: what do users think?

generalorhan: Excellent food friendly staff. Got the bowl with most of the toppings and the dish was extremely flavorful. Fries were seasoned well too.

Il Tch: Very tasty shawarma, sauces are great. The staff is friendly. The portion is on a smaller side, and the toppings are light unless you keep asking to add more. But overall a great place!

Fama Harrison: Most delicious shawarma ever and the falafels are so good and the sauces are delicious and the fries are just perfect I am very pleased with the costumer service and whenever I visit Washington this is the first place I go But there is a problem with being sanitary because I once saw a fly come out of the shop but other then that it is delicious and I definetly recommend you come here.

Hasen Alkoraishi: best halal place in dc!! fully customizable bowl and great prices. very nice seating area too.

Christian Mai: Great Shawarma! Super quick service, all fresh prepared fillings, huge variate of hummus and sauces, and different meats or vegetables. Nice outside seating area.

Abdullah Moe: Pretty nice restaurant and true taste of Sharmawa, believe me i have been eating shawarma my whole life this place has it

Khalid Hassan: Great food, great customer service, highly recommended.....

Albi: what do users think?

lauren neal: We did the hearth tasting menu and wine pairing and it was delicious! Highly recommend, even my husband who is a picky eater tried and liked everything. The service was impressive and flowed seamlessly between staff members. We loved our experience 💕

Jacqueline Bourassa: Amazing flavors and overall lovely experience. The tasting menu is the perfect amount to be full and try many dishes without being over stuffed. All the staff were great. The sommelier in particular had really cool pairings and was friendly/fun serving them. The hostesses were a great start to the night welcoming and professional. I appreciated that the bartender saw me looking lost at one point and came around the bar to walk me to where the restrooms are.

Aisha Damian: Absolutely amazing. The hummus was spectacular and the wine suggestions were perfect. Our server was fantastic and very attentive. We came for our anniversary and the staff made it a very special dinner. Best restaurant in Navy Yard, hands down!

Diana Valentine: So good. It’s not a typical restaurant I’d go to, but stopped in for a drink and apps and loved everything from the aesthetic of the restaurant to the service, drinks, and food. I returned for a full dinner a few months later and was just as impressed. It was super busy and the service was still good — the kitchen stayed open late fo make sure everyone got served. The food is flavor blasted and ingredients in each dish compliment one another in unexpected ways. Can’t recommend enough!

Tenzin Rigden: Absolutely delicious! Did the sofra experience, and thought it was an incredible value and very filling. We were stuffed by the time dessert came around. Highlights were the sunchoke, the pita, the cinnamon kefta, and the brown butter knafeh. Sat at the bar and service was good. Bartender was very knowledgeable about both drinks and the food. Whole experience took about 2 hours. Drinks were good too. The negroni and the silk road were particularly good.

Wilson Fujinaga: Genius Michelin level food and presentation. Impeccable service. The bar is so high it makes you sit up right and taller. From music, decor, design, furniture, earthenware, honestly it’s unreal we have a place like this in our neighborhood. Seeing the chef with is team in their element is like watching a maestro placing his finishing touches on a painting.

Mama Ayesha's Restaurant: what do users think?

Christopher Yandell: I visited Mama Ayesha’s for a friend’s birthday and it was a great experience. The food and ambiance were great. Every dish had the perfect amount of seasoning and flavor. We went on a Tuesday night, and there was only one other party dining while we were there. Overall, the experience was great besides our waiter who was a bit rude. He walked away from us while we were ordering on multiple occasions which rubbed me the wrong way. Either way, it’s worth a visit. We payed around $300 for a group of 8

Murtaza Bohra: Great atmosphere and service. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, and leaves plenty room for conversation. I got the Arak, Mashawi and Arabic Coffee to end with. Each meal left me wanting more. Although the portions are relatively smaller, the flavors are refreshingly authentic. For those from a middle Eastern background, it will take you back home. Highly recommend!

Mohammad Shouman: Mama Ayesha is a really nice Arabic restaurant. It has great ambience. Service was fast, and my waiter, Alex, was attentive. I expected my meal portion to be larger. However, the main criticism I have for it is that it doesn’t live up to its reputation as “your mother’s Palestinian cooking.” There are very few proper traditional dishes—where’s the molokhiya? Mansaf? Mujaddara? Kufta? Why are so many traditional Palestinian dishes missing? But most significantly, the signature Palestinian dish, the knafeh, was very disappointing. The cheese was stale and you had to fight with a knife to make out a piece. And there was no pistachio on top. I left similar feedback in a comment card, and I hope they take my feedback to heart. I really want it to succeed, but in the meantime I’ll be having knafeh at nearby Meze (which is not as authentic but still better than Mama Ayesha’s knafeh).

Abdul Rahman Ghannoum: Great Restaurant! Food portions are balanced. Taste was amazing! Love the history of the restaurant.

Ree A: First time to try but not last, I like the malfofo mahshi and maklobah very delicious and fresh. Thanks

Kamal Almashharawi: One of the best mediterranean restaurants in DC. Excellent food, prices, and hospitality. I recommend the Palestinian-owned restaurant for food lovers! The place is easy to find, but the parking lots are limited, try to find a close parking before arriving to the place. Good luck Mohammed & Abu Mohammed, so nice to see you!

Meghan Houghton: Food is always delicious and eager to support this local business. However, revising my prior 5 stars to 3 based on carryout experience. The portion seemed to be half what it used to be. My husband and I were both still hungry after 2 entrees and a salad. The lamb shank literally was half the size of what it was when we last visited in person. And I think there were no more than 5 green beans. It was just strange and disappointing for this restaurant that we were once eager to visit.

Darcy Thompson: Great date night place if you’re looking to explore middle eastern food and even better place if you’re already a “foodie” and lover of middle eastern cuisine.Server was lovely, food was outstanding ( I had the Stuffed Squash) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves last evening.

Hner Zebari: Their food was good, but the service was very slow.

Caitlin Rulien: Delicious food in a very ambiant environment. Smaller portions than I’d hope, but I’d definitely go back. I’d give them 4.5 if Google did half point ratings.

Mejana - Lebanese Cuisine: what do users think?

Azadeh Hassani: Good selection of Lebanese mezza with good quality. We finished all we ordered ( see the photos 😊). I highly recommend the selection of hot mezza, with the exception of fatteh( Aubergines in yogurt). Wine selection and quality are not that impressive, but cocktails are nice. We love your hot bread Mejana 👍

Logan Byars: Stopped here for lunch this week and was pleasantly surprised! It wasn’t very crowded, and our server was excellent. The service was neither slow nor rushed. The salmon and kafta kebabs were really amazing. Definitely will be coming back to try more off the menu!

Rasha Sharif: Went with friends, the food is good as well as the desserts! But the waitress! OMG this Arab girl who has sone real issues. She might not be interested in working in food services or customer service. Besides her rudeness , the restaurant is ok!

Sam Ang: Superb Lebanese food, awesome waitstaff and manager. I stopped in for lunch by myself and returned for dinner with a party of 6. Fun selection of Lebanese wines at reasonable prices. Kibbeh nayyeh (think lamb tartare with bulgur, rarely seen this on the menu elsewhere) was really really good. I would say a must try for those who arent afraid of raw meats. The usual starters (babagaboush, dolma, etc) were all delicious. My lunch kofta and dinner lamb shank were all really good too. All in all a great place worthy of their high google ranking.

Roula Harfoush: First time at Mejana and it was an excellent experience! The staff is very professional and friendly. Food was so delicious and authentic. The atmosphere is great there and it has a nice patio if you prefer outdoor seating. We ordered a selection of cold and hot appetizers, and my favorite was chicken shawarma.

B A: Service was OK but the food felt like it wasn’t fresh, the rice was crunchy and the keftah kabob beef was dry and hard to chew. I understand it is hard to prepare food for each individual person but the food needs to be better quality if you are charging that much. Also the appetizers tasted better than the main courses.

Charly J: Service was Ok! Not the friendliest manager or servers but the hostess is much better.Food is good, i didnt like the cheese rolls and the fatte is barely a “fatte” plus very small portion, same goes for the taboule. Chicken liver was amazing and the sambousik. Mixed grill is a “ No go” the kafta was horrible chicken kabob was fine needs more marination but the lamb is hard. In general the food experience was pleasant.

Angel Fross: The food here is pretty good, but the service was slow at times. I tried the dip sampler, which I enjoyed, the grilled calamari which was just slightly overcooked, and the Mediterranean salad which was okay. I didn’t personally LOVE anything, but it was a decent dinner with decent portions as well. Also, Arak tastes like licorice for anyone that doesn’t know! The taste is quite strong so be aware of that when ordering cocktails.

muncheez: what do users think?

zwawe xm: The cheese beef manaish was the best, it would have been easy 10/10 if it gad more meat. The chicken manaish were good but the lettuce brings the whole sandwich down and it needs a little of spice, I would say 6/10. 🌯🌯🌯🌯🌯😋😋😋😋😋 The place is very clean and cooking station seem very organized 👍👍👍👍👍 Looking forward to trying something similar to what I had today. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reema Srivastava: I liked the Veggie platter and mint lemonade but the Shawarma platter with chicken was disappointing. Great location to grab a lunch on aSunny day. They have a couple of chairs & tables for outdoor seating.

Jeremy Lucas: Looks can be deceiving!!! I was hoping to get an authentic chicken shawarma experience, instead what I got was a dried chicken wrap. Extremely dry, flavorless chicken. The wrap was rock hard. The fries weren’t seasoned. Even after soaking it in ketchup and hot sauce, nothing. I can’t understand why they wrap it twice! The outer wrap is so thick you get a mouth full of bread before even reaching anything inside. I think they need to stop grilling the wrap. It’s just making them hard and dry. It can literally stand up on its own because it’s so hard!

Paul: Freshly prepared mid eastern food. Not much seating inside, but everything was tasty and freshly made. The MidEastern platter in pic is recommended.

Ayman Jino: Food was good but kinda pricy ….tiny place no bathroom for paying customers…..the guy at the cashier have some attitude and was not professional u can’t behave this way in front of customers

Isis: Not a fan of the food here. There were some odd flavors in the Chicken Shawarma like cinnamon and pickles. The pita chips were super soggy, but the pita bread was leather dry. The advantage was my food was ready relatively quickly and ordering was simple.

Aayush Raj: Loved the shawarma wraps they served! Really delicious. We’ve tried a lot of Mediterranean places in the US but these guys do it well! Will definitely visit again!

Syed Ahmed Ullah: The staff is amazing. Always a pleasant experience here. The manakeesh (both chicken+cheese and steak+cheese) is very fresh and juicy. Also, they have the best French fries and crepes. Love the food here!!!

R Al-Dulaimi: Excellent customer service. Loved their crêpeMasks are required inside, thankfully they have outdoor dinning

LEBTAV: what do users think?

Vy H.: Been here several times for lunch—reasonable price and huge portions! I like the Taverna Platter, tried it once with the salmon but usually I get the chicken shawarma. Both are somewhat dry and bland—make sure to get sauce for it, the garlic sauce was good. Would not recommend paying an extra $3 for the salmon. The hummus is delicious, and spiced rice, pita bread and kibbeh are also good!

Nathalie Demirdjian-Rivest: Got the traditional platter, everything was very fresh and authentic. Pretty sure the owner was working the register. Hidden gem.

Kassem Ghaddar: It’s average. Had a beef shawarma Platter. Meat was not good and tasted as if it was reheated. Hummus is meh. Def it doesnt taste authentic lebanese.

Kenion Brown: Here for vacation. Im not a huge consumee of lebanese food. I just dont have it very often. The food was delicious and very healthy. The staff was willing to assist in selecting what I wanted and give reccomendations. Staff Jennifer and Edwin were great! Very friendly, and very good food. Im only dissappointed im on vacation and couldnt take some home with me!

Anne H: The service was great - speedy and friendly. The food was delicious! Seriously authentic Lebanese food with nice little touches that made me decide to take some things to go for dinner after I tried a number of the small dishes at lunch!

Carlos Aramayo: The customer service was great, very prompt and efficient. The food however was extremely disappointing. I was expecting this place to be great, but nothing that I ate was good; the lamb had no seasoning whatsoever (I had to season it myself after the fact) and was very dry. The bread did not taste fresh at all. The rice had no seasoning either. Everything was just bland and had no flavor. This was definitely not worth my $14. Needless to say, I am disappointed because I wanted it to be great, but it looks like I might not be coming back anymore.

Logan Robins: Ordered food (beef shawarma bowl) for take out and received very generous portions, and an assortment of sauces. Would definitely order from them again.

Yafa Grille: what do users think?

Jessica Martin: Fresh, varied, flavorful food with kind and quick service! Good portions too. Didn’t ask about gluten free but nothing other than the pita was obviously gluten. I’m sure they’d answer any questions you have.

Sydnye White: Love grabbing a Yafa salad bowl for lunch. I get chicken, lots of roasted veggies options and all the yummy garlic, tahini sauce and hummus I can stand!

Hisham Isa: I finally got to try this place. Had the option of wrap, bowl or plate. They we out of the pita pocket option at the time. Then picked the meat or veggies. They had chicken, beef or lamb. I got the bowl with rice and lamb. Both meat and rice portions were a bit small. I loaded up on the veggies since you can add whatever veggies you want to it. I was expecting more rice and meat for the price. What could have made it better? Hot rice and meats; more rice and meats; warm pita bread that came with it. Overall, positive experience as the food feels and taste healthy. Price was a bit over $12 for the bowl. I will definitely eat here again.

Kristen Marie: I’ve never had Shawarma before, so I appreciated how helpful the employees were in guiding me toward a shawarma rice bowl with delicious toppings. Fantastic! Great food and friendly staff.

Noor Ayoob: Man the food was amazing shawarma was so tasty definitely coming back again , this location is outside if McPherson square station close to 15th NW st and right in the heart if DC . Keep up the great work guys . You gained a very good customer.

Al: Unfortunately the beef shawarma bowl is nothing but gyro meat not real shawarma meat!! and the rice very cheap quality. Shawarma district or muncheez are much better. Place clean though.

Thomas Novelli: The chicken shawarma is pretty tasty. I recommend adding the spicy sauce and tzatziki for a great flavor combination. Service is quick and friendly. I’ll definitely return to check out other menu offerings.

sami china: Very bad manage I order with very spicy and cold sandwiches and when I called the manager to explain for him he said we don’t care about your opinion you can put bad reviews

Maydan: what do users think?

arun varughese: Interesting high end restaurant for Arabic/Mediterranean cuisine but nothing that justifies the Michelin level prices. I tried Omani shrimp and lamb kebab. Both were excellent dishes. The lamb kebab was perfectly cooked and very tender unlike chewy lamb in other places. The shrimp had a very smoky flavor. Their bread was fresh and had a very unique taste. I loved it. The restaurant has the dishes of Arabic cuisine but not the grandness. Their dishes are small plates but the price is similar to large plates of other similar themed restaurants. Overall, It’s a wonderful restaurant with excellent dishes but the price is definitely not justified. They don’t use rare ingredients like caviar, truffle etc. like other Michelin restaurants.

Shamsher: Let me just start by saying this, I have been to several fine dine restaurants in DC and this is the only place that does justice to the money it asks for. What an experience! Let me say that again a little louder… WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! Just everything is excellent. Excellent service starting with the utmost level of courtesy I have seen with the staff. Very emotional intelligent staff which is rare. The level of detail they all have in describing the food is beyond impressive. Their mindfulness is incredible. I wish I could give only the service 10+ stars. The food was incredible. Everything in this three course meal. The apps were fresh, crispy and each of the condiments were so distinct and flavorful. The lamb was amazingly cooked. Smoky and mild just the way I love a nice grilled piece of lamb shoulder. The kebabs were outstanding. Specially the beef kebab. The amount of taste and texture on that kebab was outstanding. The desserts were not super impressive but I can get down with that as I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Maydan should be a must experience for all restaurant goers. Again, the only fine dining and Michelin star place I have been that does justice to the money it asks for.

Tala Mahmoud: Hands down one of the best food spots in DC. The meat was incredibly tender and full of unique flavors. The dips and condiments complimented the rest of the food exceptionally. Highly recommended.

Zeyu Hu: Eating at Maydan is a culinary journey. It is a journey into middle eastern cuisine that makes you satisfied when you leave. I highly recommend getting the Tawle, which is a 4 course meal and gives you a huge variety of food. You start off with things “From the Kitchen” which is a variety of pickled veggies, honey dates, herb plate, and cauliflower Tabboulet. In addition a variety of spreads including Hummus, Muhamarra, and Walnut Casik. These were an amazing introduction and each complimented each other very well. Next was “From the Fire” which included a beef and chicken kabob, halloumi, and seasonally roasted veggies (asparagus in this case). Wrapping these in the warm bread that was provided was so good. Finally the center plate - which we got lamb shoulder was phenomenal. It was fall off the bone and the meat melts in your mouth. It was a huge portion which we weren’t able to finish so had to take it back home for lunch the next day. When we thought that was the end of the meal, we got a surprise course of dessert. It was a nice cake and a great moose. It wasn’t that sweet so it balanced the end of the meal perfectly. Highly recommend visiting this place and the service was impeccable. The Michelin Star is for sure deserved. Be sure to make reservations right as they open as it gets booked out very fast!

muncheez: what do users think?

Danny L: Low key dine in and take out. Kinda fast food but better quality. Price ranges from $10-20. Very close to metro station. No restroom for customers. Food is ok.

J Foodgeek: Chicken shawarma and in was good. They do bowls too. I was still hungry after the Pita sandwich though.

Latia Foster: Food was delicious, my team ate here this past week and we had a large order. Everyone was able to get what they ordered. I have the lemonade with my meal and it was so refreshing

Linden Yee: Great for a quick late night bite. The manakeesh are solid and a decent price and the service is quick. Not the best falafel or shawarma in the area, but one of my favorite options for fast food.

Juan M: Love this place. They are very clean and very professional. Two lady’s at the front are very friendly and professional. Food was exceptional delicious. I can come here everyday and don’t get bored. I really recommend to try the Nutella crepes. Prices are very cheap and the service is super fasts. If you’re lucky you could get a parking spot in front o the restaurant (remember to pay for it😜)

Dhruv Jaiswal: Good food ! Have good options and menu ! We took chicken and falafel which were pretty good !We went there super late so was Amazingly busy ! Took about 35 mins to get out order !

Halah A: Was told to leave because I had a dog. Tried to explain she was a service animal, and the manager (?) wouldn’t try to listen. The place was empty, so it wasn’t even an issue of being too busy to listen / too many people to attend to. Very disappointed, especially since I’ve been a muncheez supporter since it opened on Wisconsin 10ish years ago.

Ashleah Younker: This was pretty good! I made my own bowl with their chicken shwarma. Their mint lemonade was delicious!

Beirut Nights: what do users think?

Audrey Norstrom: I’m really disappointed to write this because I love this establishment, however I got severe food poisoning from the steak shawarma. I’m absolutely certain this was the cause as I had not eaten anything aside from this meal and a lemon mint smoothie. Then a few hours after I began feeling sick. I would like a refund, I was forced to take off work as well.

Aaliyah Smith: The food, the hookah, the owner & staff, the ambiance *chefs kiss*😘 🏽

KYLLR 777 (KYLLR777): Service is above and beyond food and Hookah, costumer service is best I doubt anyone can be that good

Hesham Hussain: Food is average, chicken is a dry. Beef was better. Has good seating

Joe Kawly: Let me start with the food: AMAZINGThe service: WARMThe shisha: Distinguished flavors, and please ask for the orange 🍊head!Joseph, the owner, is the most hospitable person I have met in the restaurant scene

Daniel Chaa: What a wonderful, lovely place. Food is delicious, hookah is great and service is beyond amazing. Very very hospitable in true Lebanese style! We will definitely be returning.

Laeeq Ahmed: Pretty big place that gets crowded on the weekends. Hookah was ok but the food was really good. The owner was there too. He was a really nice humble person and making sure everybody is having a good time

Michael De Angelo: This place has outstanding service, amazing food and great hookah. Great experience, worth every dime. Highly recommend 👌

Shemalis: what do users think?

Gregory Alan: Really disappointed. Great food but they raised their prices and made their wraps half the size. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Ann Morse: So many interesting choices! Tried the chickpea salad today, delicious, tangy, full of flavor. Highly recommend.

Bruce Campbell: Always good and warm feeling you get going in every time

Daniel Junker: Food is fresh and tasty, love the Swiss chard lentil soup too. Nice little pantry there with huge range of dried goods and spices as well.

Zarin B: Had delicious chicken shawarma and Swiss chard lentil soup from here. Still dream about that lentil soup. They also have really affordable imported groceries as well. Highly recommend!!!

Basel El-Shrafi: As a student at American, this is my go to. The portions are always generous for the price and the food is consistently well prepared.

K Jay: I learned about the cafe from the store. After I ordered, I decided to check out the reviews. I seen mixed reviews, but remained with an open mind and unbiased palate. I ordered mixed kebabs with a side of Greek salad. I was first impressed with the cleanliness. The next was them asking me if I wanted another portion of the salad since I only selected one side, and the entree comes with two. The third was the repeat customer that came in and just mentioned “you know what I want” and no further dialogue was needed pertaining to her order. Now the quality. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! Tender, juicy, and flavorful chicken and lamb. The Greek salad was so fresh and delicious, I did not need the dressing. I never had pickled turnips but now, I am a fan! The portion was really filling and more than enough. I have concluded: when I am in the area, though not often, I will make it my business to stop by here! Well done, Shemali’s Cafe.

Skylar C: Disgusting chicken shawarma wrap. Ordered delivery with Uber eats and the chicken felt like it was pan fried, not grilled. It didn’t have much flavor. The wrap was supposed to come with lettuce, tomato, pickled turnips, and a garlic sauce. There was no tomato and not even 1 full leaf of lettuce. It was like 1 shred of iceberg lettuce. The result was it was a dry, tasteless, chicken only with a wrap. Would only feed to my worst enemy

Mezè Restaurant: what do users think?

Pandora White: I stopped here for brunch. I got the spinach omelette. The wait staff was amazing. I felt so welcome. The food was so yummy. The atmosphere was super chill and the music choices were nice. It was the type of place, you want to hang out in. Would recommend this to everyone.

Sezgin Arslan: Best turkish restaurant in washington dc, amazing mediterranean food. I felt so welcome. The food was so yummy. The atmosphere was super chill and the music choices were nice. It was the type of place, you want to hang out in. Would recommend this to everyone.

Nisha Desai: Had an amazing experience here for my bottomless birthday brunch for 14! It was so easy to make the reservation and they kept in touch with me to confirm everything for the day. The waiters are so friendly and professional. They kept the drinks and food coming and overall made my birthday amazing! All 14 people were satisfied with the food and drink options as well as the service, plus the brunch was a great value at $43/pp! Highly recommend!!

Forough Forozanfar: Good service & tasty food! entrées were on the small side for the cost! Very expensive!

Mohammad Shouman: The service here has really improved. The food is fantastic. The kunefe for dessert is a must-try.

Rashaun Parks: Not completely disappointed. My date only ate two bites of her entree. The waitress noticed, and instead of offering a refund or a recommendation she offered her a hot tea. That was the moment that put the 😒Meh in Mezè. (See what I did there?) I thoroughly enjoyed my selection. I recommend the Iskender, although I would probably request that it be prepared over rice next time. I’m willing to give this another chance because I love their (Hot and Cold) drink menu.

Anwar Sadek: I tried the fried calamari app and definitely I will have it there again. The Sis Kebab was just fantastic. Land was just and flavorful. Above all they have the best kunefe I ever tried. Most places have their dessert very sweet but this place has the right balance. That made their bakhlava mouthwatering. Overall loved everything about this place. Excellent customer service!

Merrill H: Had a very nice dinner here on New Year’s Eve. Outdoor seating was warm with a good heater and a solid canopy holding back the rain. The waiter had excellent recommendations and was attentive without intruding on a romantic dinner with my date. The food was great!

ala: what do users think?

shan gui: We got brunch here! Bottomless mimosa made me 70% drunk…We ordered different snack, egg, and dessert for our own and shared with each other, so that we almost tried whole brunch menu! The food is great and the environment is lovely!

Mark Orebiyi: My friend Jake and I went to Ala to celebrate him getting off the night shift as a PA. The Mediterranean style meal was exactly what we were looking for. The host and waiter were nice. The location was not to busy. We tried the red snapper and the lamb. I was impressed. Looking forward to coming back.

Nu S: Fresh food and coffee! During the week the coffee shop is open and during the evening and weekends the restaurant is open. Beautiful outdoor patio seating and a refined indoor dining area. The coffee shop has stuffed croissants and other small bites to eat like grape leaves and hummus. There is a small boutique in the shop where you can buy premixed cocktails to go, wine, beer, spices, and all sorts of lovely Turkish and Mediterranean products for sale! They helped me put together a gift for a friend.

Gabriel Mata: I came here for a bottomless brunch, it was absolutely a great deal and I feel like I tried every dish that they had. The food was amazing and I wish I had captured an image of everything. We had amazing servers that were very attentive and even funny. I highly recommend it and I look forward to coming back again.

Kayla N: My friend and I came for unlimited brunch and oh my gosh. From reading the reviews I expected it to be good, but no. The quality was 10/10 hands down AMAZING. You’d expect for unlimited brunch the dishes wouldn’t be top quality but NO. They were TOP quality. You can really tell every dish they brought out how much detail and effort was put into the dish. The flavors complimented each other exquisitely, the ingredients were fresh, the menu items were so special and delicious. It’s rare to find mediterranean food like this, at least from my experience. Our waitress was professional and pleasant, and timed everything well when sending for the next set of dishes for us. The portions were perfect, as with unlimited anything, it’s easy to overeat or be so stuffed by the time the main course comes out you’re no longer hungry. I also don’t like unecessary food waste, so these portions were the perfect size to both taste each item, see what you like and order more, and keep food waste to a minimum. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who has yet to try authentic, unique, fresh and delicious mediterranean cuisine. For the price you pay, the quality is unbeatable. Side note: My friend is gluten-free and they were great at accommodating to her needs and specifiying which dishes she could have.

Abdul Nomad: This is by far the best restaurant in DC! I go out to eat a lot so claiming this is huge. The aesthetics/ design is so beautiful. I felt like I was transported to a garden! The customer service was perfect! Our server gave us great suggestions and was always checking in. The food was to die for! From the meats, to the pita and even the puffy bread they serve…perfect 👌🏼 🏻

Jarsips: The short ribs were INCREDIBLE, Mante was delicious, Feci - it was all fantastic. Best Mediterranean cuisine I have had in a very long time. Cocktails are also spectacular. Upscale atmosphere and a must eat if you are in the area.

Sergio Calderone: Our visit was on a Sunday / Bottomless brunch. The food was excellent, a variety of quality Mediterranean food. Desserts were also really good, especially the chocolate mousse. Bugrahan and the rest of the staff did an amazing job! Definitely recommend a visit

Geneva: Nice food, good service, and lovely decor. The outdoor patio is cozy and well covered. We sat outside during a thunderstorm and not a drop rained down on us. They also have a coffee bar that sells juices, wine, and snacks.

Lebanese Taverna: what do users think?

Merve Tassin: We were there yesterday for dinner. We love the server. He was funny and friendly guy who’s name is Lopez. But the reason i am giving 4 stars is the lamb sharhat. I was totally disappointed. I couldn’t evet eat the food. Probably it wasn’t fresh. The rest was good and i know the restaurant since 2018. So it could’ve been better. The passion fruit punch is the best cocktail ever. Thank you!

Harry Hill: For the most part the food is good and flavorful but they do not have good quality control. One of our dishes contained what must have been the last of the tray of meat as there were so many pieces of burnt dry almost inedible slices of meat. Might give them one more try.

Himadri: Clean good food. We got hummus and falafel appetizer for takeout. The pita bread was fresh, the hummus was creamy and tasty. Husband loved falafel. Happy with the experience.

Mark Robbins: The food is delicious, the waitstaff nice, atmosphere is fun, and Lebanese wine is excellent (who knew?). Get a window seat and watch the local families having picnics and soccer games in the courtyard.

Kyla Cumberland: Really good place. The stuffed grape leaves were awesome. Fiancé really liked the hummus. I got the lamb kabob and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, rice pilaf was tasty too. They have a good wine list here as well. The waitress forgot our drinks at first but was very quick to bring everything, and we got a free dessert at the end. Baklava was so yummy! We definitely would go back here.

Robert Francis: Food was amazing. Great vibe, great location and exceptional plates

Sofia Brito: The food is delicious. This was my first time in the restaurant, And I don’t usually write reviews but In this case is necessary to let people know that the lentil soup, chicken cabob and awamat is very delicious.

Michael Zarnegar: Little slow service at first but because the food is so great you are forgiving. I have been to Lebanese Taverna nearly 30 years and each time I leave I am impressed. The shwarma rolls are out of this world...keep up the good work

Bettina Pearson: Delicious sampler appetizer plate! Would go again just for this. Waitress and everyone was very nice. Several other tables seemed to be regulars Our experience with the main courses, shawarma with chicken and the one with beef (salty), were not edible. We paid but did not eat. Shrimp kabob, pilaf, roasted veggies lacked flavor and inspiration (except for eggplant chutney).

Byblos Deli: what do users think?

Lynn Adams: This place is the best! If you want a REAL GYRO this will satisfy your taste buds. I received a special order from here. GYRO meat with grilled onions & peppers. When I say it was fantastic there is no other reason to anywhere else.

Ismael Alvarado: Byblos is delicious and worth the ride from Maryland into DC. Try their chicken shwarma as it is juicy with authentic sauces. I wish we had the Mediterranean weather here year-round to enjoy this place more often as the outside seating is lovely.

Franklyn Benjamin: We took our last summer intern out for lunch. We all enjoyed the food and felt that the food tasted very good and was homemade. The service was good, the wait for food varied for example the gyros came out quickly while the special took 5-10 minutes longer. One, thing that we were disheartened by was that they only had a 2 pieces of Baklava left while there were 8 people in our party. I will say I enjoyed the piece that I got.

Matt A: This place was bomb! Was driving around Northwest and saw the reviews on Google... Very impressed. The grape leaves were great, the baba was smokey and fresh, and the hummus was excellent and creamy. The gyro was also quite good but I will definitely give the chicken souvlaki a try next time. This place is awesome.

Brittany M: Awesome food - owner is a cool guy. The entire upper nw knows him. Just go, the food is great

Hien Vu: The food is authentic Mediterranean (as far as I can tell), and the service is friendly and top notch

Nicole Pritchard: I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with pita chips and hummus, so good! Chicken was nice and tender and everything fresh! The lady who took my order was super friendly as well. Check them out if in Alexandria or find them where their good truck is posted!

Annie Greeley: This food truck is awesome! Everything is so good- we had the rice platter, loaded fried and the tacos. Everything is so fresh- great Mediterranean food with a modern twist. Definitely try this food truck. I’m psyched for them to open their restaurant this fall!

Bacchus of Lebanon: what do users think?

Avik Dutta: A very nice lebannes food place. Kabobs are really tasty. Price is little on the higher side. Have both inside and outside seating arrangements. The location is great at Bethesda. Lambs are highly recommended. Coffees are okay. They served olive oil and bread/nun as free starters. The service is very good. Highly recommend.

Casey Johnson: When we walked in we sure if we would sit outside or at the bar … but we saw the bar corner was open and we made the right choice.. the bartender kept our bottle of wine on ice .. the bartender recommended the best appetizers and man were they delicious.. we shared the branzino fish and wow… can’t ask for better in Bethesda 6 out of 5 stars!!! Best date night in a while

Maria Chkeri: The cheese and the beef egg rolls are OUTSTANDING! I drive from VA to get them. The service was great and the food was yummy. I enjoyed the appetizers mainly which I love. Stay away from non traditional dishes like the calamari, but rather go for hummus, baba ghanush, shawarma and of course kalaj. I highly recommend

Rafaella Garcia: Our first time tonight at this place, and I can’t believe I’ve never been there before! Tim, our server, was very helpful, knowledgeable and joyful. He gave us great recommendations! The food was so tasty! We had lamb and chicken, both meats were tender and delicious. Definitely will come back!

T D: My wife and I ate here for the first time last night. It had a great atmosphere, fantastic service, and delicious food & drinks. I forgot to take a picture of our dessert because it was so good it was gone before it occurred to me to take a photo. We’ll be going back again soon!

Yingxi Rona Shi: Very friendly waiter and open/nice outdoor seating environment. Food are most tasty. We ordered Kibbeh, Mishki Kousa, warak inab mehchi, Bacchus delight, and lahm mechwi. The skrews are all perfect and tender. The rice with it is flavorful. Kibbeh is surprisingly good. Mishi Kousa is similar taste/texture to the filling of warak inab mechi, which is a little overwhelming. The main dish could use a different flavor side dish to tune it down. Overall happy with this place and will be back again.

George Junca: Review is for service which was horrible. Food was good, but really bad experience with wait staff, asked to speak to manager and was told “he is busy, not sure if he has time to come out”!! And sure enough, never showed up. Very bad customer service
