Our project included a new brick patio with new drainage, moving an existing iron fence, and installing a new wood fence closer to our property line. Not only did Derek provide detailed plans and answer every question, but he was entirely transparent about the timeline (it shifted a few times due to some stretches of bad weather), and provided brilliant options to help us bring the project closer to our budget, which was completed on-time and as-expected. His crew was professional, tidy, and did the job right the first time. Most importantly for us, Derek offered to meet with our neighbors and provide a walkthrough of the project, helping us diplomatically navigate some tricky conversations about the new fence installation near the property line. Nadia Messeh: Matt and his team renovated our DC rowhouse. Not only was the product absolutely stunning, the process was so easy! They turned a dirty concrete jagged slab into a mini wonderland for our kids. We have dealt with many contractors before and this was by far the simplest process, from the planning to the execution, everything was on time (Shocking in the contractor world!) and the product was amazing. Renovating a rowhouse in DC is not uncomplicated, they had to customize the beautiful fence around trees existing on our property lines. The result is our own mini oasis in the city! We are so happy not only with the result but the fact that the process was streamlined and simple for us.

I contacted several of the companies that had gone through the county training and was surprised that only three were willing to visit my property. During the snow and ice season, this company constantly monitors the weather and is well informed when it comes the forecast and which services are need. The project manager, Tim Gardner will contact me before each snow or ice event to discuss their plan of action. I am confidence that when there is a snow or ice event that the next morning when tenants arrive on the property it will be safe and cleared of snow and ice. Tim and his team exceed my expectations every time.

The green lush park-like setting looks beautiful against the Capitol building and National Mall. The grounds is bordered by stone wall. Different types of trees and bushes are grown in the grounds with curved walkways. Many trees on the Capitol grounds have memorial associations. Leisurely walk around the world power center to explore the beauty of the Capitol building is great experience. The entry to the Capitol building is closed for the general public but walking up to the steps of this symbolically most important and impressive public building of United States and the world is great opportunity. After six months of enhanced security measures, finally the fence is down and people can now visit the Capitol grounds.

Alan Feister: I started working with A.I.R. in the fall of 2021, and so far, I couldn’t be more pleased with their services. I had been trying maintain and repair difficult spots in my lawn for several years with poor results, and I finally decided to open my wallet and see if a professional could do better. I selected A.I.R. because of their emphasis on organic lawn care, which has become particularly important since I live in Montgomery County which has banned the use of herbicides. The owner, Zack, gave me a very honest assessment of my lawn and the difficulty of maintaining grass on a shady hillside and backyard that experiences a lot of water flow during rainfalls. But he did provide a thorough fall program based on soil testing, including application of lime and fertilizer, and aeration and overseeding, and he gave me detailed instructions on how to ensure that the new grass grew. Following his instructions, the results were far better than anything I’d ever achieved on my own, and the new grass came in thick and healthy. Unfortunately, a few weeks later after everything was coming along nicely, the landscaping company that takes care of common areas in my community ran their heavy riding mower over my backyard after several days of rain, ripping up a lot of the new grass and leaving deep ruts. At my request, Zack worked aggressively with my community association’s management company to provide a cost estimate for repairs, and within about a week A.I.R. was able to come out and fill and reseed the damaged areas (at community association expense). Unfortunately, by this time, it was too late in the season for much of the grass that was planted this time to grow, but that wasn’t A.I.R.’s fault. I should also mention that communication with A.I.R. on scheduling and other matters has been very responsive – both Zack and Christiane in the office have been a pleasure to work with. I feel like I am getting excellent advice and great service, and will happily employ A.IR. again this spring. Service: Grass seeding
