She presented a well executed proposal and called me to clarify any questions. I went and book the job by paying my deposit and they were out here the following week to complete the work ! Our project included a new brick patio with new drainage, moving an existing iron fence, and installing a new wood fence closer to our property line. Not only did Derek provide detailed plans and answer every question, but he was entirely transparent about the timeline (it shifted a few times due to some stretches of bad weather), and provided brilliant options to help us bring the project closer to our budget, which was completed on-time and as-expected. His crew was professional, tidy, and did the job right the first time. Most importantly for us, Derek offered to meet with our neighbors and provide a walkthrough of the project, helping us diplomatically navigate some tricky conversations about the new fence installation near the property line. Nadia Messeh: Matt and his team renovated our DC rowhouse. Not only was the product absolutely stunning, the process was so easy! They turned a dirty concrete jagged slab into a mini wonderland for our kids. We have dealt with many contractors before and this was by far the simplest process, from the planning to the execution, everything was on time (Shocking in the contractor world!) and the product was amazing. Renovating a rowhouse in DC is not uncomplicated, they had to customize the beautiful fence around trees existing on our property lines. The result is our own mini oasis in the city! We are so happy not only with the result but the fact that the process was streamlined and simple for us.

Lisa Lewis: I called Denison first in 2012 to help build an oasis of blooming flowers around the pool for my mother who was confined to her home suffering terminal cancer. They took my vision and made my mom a flowering paradise she visited everyday happily until she passed. Every year since I call on Denison to do the yard clean up and plant annuals where needed and do my pots. I have the prettiest front and backyard. I now too love to come outside and enjoy what others call a resort. They planned the flowering in a way that once something blooms and dies a new flowering plant is blooming. It is always beautiful. I have so many butterflies around my back yard that I know are my mother revisiting her flowers to this day. I so appreciate their love and attention they have give to me over the last 9 years. Sehvar Bor: I am very disappointed with Tiger Lily Landscape. We signed a contract with Tiger Lily for our backyard and front yard landscaping. Backyard is done as contract indicated and we paid in full. Just to give you an idea, We had 8 of the 12 ft Carpinus betulus "Fastigiata" and 7 of the Hydrangea "Abetwo"(3g) planted to our backyard by Tiger Lily. We paid $8,163.90. We paid in full since it was done properly as our signed contract indicated. We wanted 24" boxwoods planted for our front yard and we signed a contract indicating the size. Size of the boxwoods they planted ranged 12-20'' maximum. They planted a total of 20 boxwoods which none of those were 24'' as indicated in the contact. The reason we wanted 24'' was due to our tall fence and it being a slow growing plant. We kindly asked Sareena who is the owner of Tiger Lily to replace them with the right size boxwood. She sent a message with this exact wording" The Boxwoods are the largest we could find. We were told that they were as close to 24", which means from the beginning she knew they were not the right size. She offered to take them back. I found the right size boxwoods and I am not a landscaper. My husband kindly asked her when they remove the wrong size plants if they can they plant the right size plants? She said they can but we have to pay extra. We were nice enough to take the task and correct her mistake. Instead of to thank us, she asked more money for labor. We refused to pay extra. Then we offered to pay less for the smaller plants already planted if she honored the same price we found for bigger plants we wanted as contract indicated. They were 24''-30'' tall for a lot less. She said No again. We could not come to an agreement although my husband and I tried very hard. She asked 3,337.53 for just the front yard clean up, soil amendments, and metal edging (after she removed the plants). I offered to pay labor for the work done and replace everything she used if she gave me a list.She said No again. Then I asked her please give me the breakdown of $3,337.50 we are paying for our empty yard. She did not do that either. She said it is in our contract.Then we received this message from her that said, " Given the aforementioned photographic documentation of the work performed, please contact me within 72 hours to pick up a cashier's check. Should I not hear back from you/or should you choose not to accept the modified amount, Tiger Lily landscapes reserves the right to bill you work done this week (pictures below) outside of the scope of the original contract, and engage legal and or collection services if necessary", even if we have all the evidence to prove she did not provide us the right size plants she indicated on the contract. My husband and I did not want to deal with this nonsense. We already had enough frustration, disappointment and stress. We paid what she requested in the end, because sometimes the money isn't worth the headache of dealing with people who don't understand the work that they do.

Ann Keely: We are very pleased with the work Shorb Landscaping did for us lastspring. The men who did the planting were very easy to work with and made sure we were satisfied before they left. Todd has been helpful answering our questions and coming back to check on the trees planted in our yard.

Dawn Thomas: Working with Wheat's was outstanding in all respects - from initial consultation to the neatly finished job, done by a professional and courteous crew. More specifically, ours may have been a 'small' job, still, the treatment was first class. The designer, Kevin, offered a reasonable solution to what for us was a worrisome problem - improper drainage in a downward sloping backyard that was causing considerable soil erosion. We are extremely pleased with the results - - a dry creek bed, stone steps, etc., that complement the existing landscape of our small backyard. They also installed a flowering groundcover that will be awesome once it grows and fills in around the stone steps. I highly recommend Wheat's for landscape design and installation. Communications with the company, the designer and the crew were great. Everything was done in a timely manner. Our property looked neat, clean and beautiful when they were done. Ashok Patel: The 58 acre very well maintained park immediately surrounding the US Capitol building is known as US Capitol Grounds. The green lush park-like setting looks beautiful against the Capitol building and National Mall. The grounds is bordered by stone wall. Different types of trees and bushes are grown in the grounds with curved walkways. Many trees on the Capitol grounds have memorial associations. Leisurely walk around the world power center to explore the beauty of the Capitol building is great experience. The entry to the Capitol building is closed for the general public but walking up to the steps of this symbolically most important and impressive public building of United States and the world is great opportunity. After six months of enhanced security measures, finally the fence is down and people can now visit the Capitol grounds.

Shane Treasure: Greenpal customer service is horrible. Back In April I had a company come cut my grass. I was away at the time and when I got home I notice the grass wasn't cut and I still got charged so I contacted Sarah who was no help at all and wouldn't give a refund so I had to dispute it with my bank. The grass cutters on there does a ok job at best. I've had several people cut my lawn and wasn't really happy with anyone of them. They call themselves professionals but didn't do a good job at all. There was still patches of grass and my yard was uneven and the edges weren't trimmed straight everytime. I am taking my services elsewhere. GreenPal SUCKS! Service: Lawn mowing & maintenance

Amy Kisanga: Prior to working with A.I.R. I used TruGreen to manage our lawn. I was having problems finding a solution that would help eliminate the weeds in my lawn and be safe for my family---I have a young daughter and dog that like to play in the yard. After Montgomery County passed their pesticide law I started looking for companies in the area that provided organic lawn care. After a quick Google search I found A.I.R. and scheduled a call through their website. I spoke with Zack and he helped me understand the expectations of organic lawn care, there will be clover and that it is a multi-year process before you see results. He recommended doing a soil test and I provided him with our soil test results from TruGreen (the results were less than a year old). Using the results he came up with a custom plan for our lawn. At first I was surprised at the high cost, it was more than double what we have paid in the past couple of years. After educating me on the different approaches, expectations, and techniques used and how those can cost more in the first couple of years he modified our proposal to fit our budget. After two years of working with A.I.R. we do have some weeds in the lawn besides clover, but they are manageable, and only noticeable in the summer months when the grass tends to thin out. Other than that we have been very happy with A.I.R.'s communication and level of service. We are signing up for our third year of service this year and hope to see even less weeds this season.
