Jacob Parker: I stopped by the shop today, the owner was professional and was able to get me a copy of a Honda CRV key. He was fast (took about 10 minutes) thanks to his large inventory and professional service. While his storefront is open from 10-5 Monday to Sunday, he is frequently called away on jobs, so be sure to dial ahead before heading over. I reached out to a number of different lock smiths in the city and all seemed to be controlled by the same call center. The Lil Key Shop might be the last independant operator in the city. I will be happy to patronize the shop again in the future. Service: Car key copying

The nice locksmith arrived quickly, and had me inside my home in just a couple minutes! Very reasonably priced. I’d highly recommend them if you are ever (unfortunately) locked out.
Kitt Dixon: I was out of the country and my daughter’s key did not work in the ignition. The anti theft system took affect. I called Von and he instructed me as to what I needed to do. Unfortunately the car was towed to the dealer. They wanted $300+ for a key in addition to the $148 to just look at the car. For a new key the dealer said he had to take out the dashboard. WRONG. Von had me order keys, ship to him along with the bad one. Mind you I live in Washington state. He shipped back my new keys and they worked perfectly after his instructions. And you know the cost was WAY under the dealer price, including keys & shipping. DMV folks you’re fortunate to have him right there!!! I highly recommended the Lil Key shop!!!!

Derek B: Von and his Lil Key Shop was a pleasure to work with. He programmed and cut two keys for our car in short order. In an amazing coincidence, our child simultaneously tried picking our front door lock with a stick. Needless to say, another trip to Von was in order. I dismantled the lock and brought it back to the shop and Von was quickly able to open the lock and remove the debris and get the lock back in working order in no time. Thank you!

H P: This is NOT a key shop, it is a self-service machine located inside of a 7-11. No one can help you if your key is “not common”. FYI, what I was trying to make a copy of is a MAIL BOX key! I don’t know how “unusual” it is to make a copy of a mail box key but I sure ain’t gonna pay 4.5 dollars and sit around for 5 days waiting for a copy of it. I will make the effort to go to a real key shop on Monday. Also, if you allowed the machine to scan your key and pay with a credit card and provided your address for it to be mailed to you, I see security breach written all over it. Use at your own risk.

Nacho Mañá: Extremely poor service. The machine was not working properly and only accepted delivery addresses in New York. After I managed to put down my home address by calling the company, the key was sent to a different address in Washington D.C. by mistake. Furthermore, they refused to tell me the address where the key had got delivered for security reasons and did not reimburse me. The treatment received from the telephone operators was equally awful, and they even hung up the phone several times when I tried to ask for help. Please avoid this company like the plague.

Lee HABER: These folks solved a problem that others could not. We had a key we needed a copy of and after going to three hardware stores and having over 6 keys cut, these guys were able to make a copy that worked! And to top it off, the man put the two keys that wouldn’t work on his machine and made another pass and got them to work! I will be letting our building manager know that these guys solved the problem. It was a long trek by transit from the National Cathedral, but these guys made a copy that worked and fixed other people’s work, so it was well worth it!

(I used them to update locks on a condo unit.)

Virginia Record: Was not sure if my front door lock set needed repair or replacement. All I knew was that the door would blow open if the dead-bolt was not engaged. Clearly, the latch needed attention. Called Keyway Lock Service who had a technician out within 24 hours. Within 30 minutes, the lack was fixed, and the entire lockset was inspected and lubricated. Brian Rosado (Bmanbronx): Yesterday I made the mistake of leaving my keys inside my house while my 3 year old was upstairs sleeping, I rushed to my neighbor leaving for work and she recommended DC Lock n Key whom she used a little less then a month ago. They gave me a competitive price beating the competition by 5 dollars and sent someone to my home to unlock my door. The entire ordeal took less then 30 minutes and most importantly my son was still sound asleep by the time we got in. Fantastic service, quick response, very fair pricing. I reccomend them 100%
Paris Legacy: This company did an amazing job with helping me last minute. I called around to help with getting a new key after i retrieved back my vehicle when it was stolen, they took my information and someone called me back in five minutes. It was closing time however, they still took the time to see if some one could come out at the last minute. Even though i was unable to get help that night as promised Habtamu came out on time the next morning and spent 20 minutes to program a new key. I WILL be using their service in the future, and will recommend anyone who needs help with locks and keys and likes professionalism, and quick service to call them!!

After taking a Lyft to work, I came across his service page, and he immediately replied, saying he would meet me at my car after my 12 hour shift..he arrived promptly at 7:30pm, got the job done in less than a minute, and payment was exactly what he quoted me!...not to mention, he was so very polite!
