The Dubliner Restaurant: what do users think?

H: I have never had a sublime turkey burger until I went here. Half a pound patties on toasted brioche buns with a side of thick cut fries. Great spot to hit a spot for pub food. The fries were a tad overly seasoned for my taste but I was thoroughly impressed by the burger of the day and the bison burger. Okay service. Restaurant is connected to a hotel in the back. Outdoor patio seating available. Nice atmosphere even though music was a bit too loud at times to converse.

Samar Al Kobrossy: Great place! The food is tasty and flavorful. The portions are big. The decoration is amazing. The waiters are attentive and can give you tips on how to navigate your way around the city. You can sit down, relax, and enjoy your food while listening to some beautiful Irish songs.

Kelly Hyer: Great local choice. Fabulous service and really great food. When in an Irish spot, must have the fish and chips. Seasoned fries- yum. Sooo good, highly recommend. Pretzel stix appetizer delish. Nice kids options too 👌 🌭 🍟

Brett Daviau: Breakfast was great. Salmon bagel with all the fixings. Poor server was trying her best to handle the whole shop by herself. Hope she can get some help. Delicious.

Bobbi DeAnda: AMAZING SERVICE!!! Food was ok, but the service was amazing. So friendly. So fast. So responsive. I actually left my sunglasses and someone ran them out to me!!! The French fries are AMAZINGGGGGG, but the rest of the food was just ok. Fish and chips, fish ok. Burger, ehh. I ordered the burger medium and it was well done. Probably a great spot for drinks and snacks, but wouldn’t go for lunch again. For drinks and French fries, YES!

Edward O'Beirne: Decent menu, good quality food, worth going again. Service was lackluster, possibly an element of understaffed but the place was nearly empty on a Friday afternoon 1pm. Greek salad with salmon was enjoyed. Philly cheesesteak about average. Cold beers. Nice outdoor seating view. Not first choice but would return.

craig mossinger: This is an absolute must for lunch! Service is quick and friendly! Fish n chips and the Irish Rueben are phenomenal.

Steve Meier: Great place, and of course what do you order at an Irish Resturant? Fish & Chips and it was probably the best I have ever had. Some of my coworkers were Shepherd Pie fans and a couple others were more traditional and had a Chicken Sandwich. The common theme was everyone was happy with their meal. Service was great and atmosphere was pleasant.

Jackie O'Shea: My bar tender was amazing ! EVA was one of the best bar tenders I’ve had (and as an Irish drinker I’ve run into many bar tenders) I would come back every night if I could but only if she’s working !

Cate Vonich: This is a really fun bar heads up it gets very crowded so be prepared for it to be shoulder to shoulder everywhere until about 2 AM. Super fun staff and you can never go wrong getting a Guinness!

Yarborough Cleland: a relaxed bar with friendly patrons. Weeknights are rather relaxed, and compared to other bars in Adams Morgan, the drink costs are reasonable.

m rivera: A low key pub with chill people. Weeknights are pretty laid back and the prices for the drinks are affordable compare to the other bars in Adams Morgan. Weeknights are more busy since they have an open bar starting at 9pm, that tends to attract more of a younger crowd. The food is decent if you want something to munch on.

Chrissie Lacy: Just wanted to take a moment to recognize good people - bartender Ross took great care of our bachelorette group, and went above and beyond to help our friend who was having a rough night. Thanks for being so caring and making sure we got her home safely!

Matthew Lawlis: Not a real irish pub. As someone who loves irish pubs (the happiness, the music, the culture) i was disappointed by this place. It seems more like a dive bar atmosphere wise as it is does not hold that Irish pub warmth. It does have a food menu but of the three times i was there only once was the kitchen open, and only some of the fair is irish pub food, there is much better around. The worst crimr however is how cold and unwelcoming they are. 2 of the times i came in and it was dead yet no one acknowledged me. I waited 10 minutes and left. The other time they looked at me weird when i asked for food. I just find the place the opposite of what is advertised. Its a cold and hard dive bar, not a lively and friendly pub. I recomend staying clear.
Response: I am very sorry for the inexcusable service. Our kitchen is open until last call so please provide me what days of the week and time you visited. There will be consequences for the bartender/server on duty during your visit. However you are very misinformed about our beer selection. We carry 16 authentic Irish Beers including 6 on tap. That is the largest selection in Washington DC. We offer standard Irish Fare Shepherd's Pie, Guinness Beef Irish stew, Bangers n Mash, Fish n Chips and Corned Beef.

Colbey Steeke: Fantastic service. The bartender Eva was excellent. And the food was outstanding

popupdon: Great selection of Irish whiskeys and beers. Hour power on Saturdays 9-11 pm. $10 open bar. Good food too. Recommend the bangers and mash.

Beth Diaz: Best hang out during police week- get there early if you want a table and expect to be there till closing! Great time.

blessone74: The food was very delicious 😋 I must say.

C B: The staff was very friendly and polite plus the pub food was good and tasty. The wall is decorated with police emblems from across the country and is located within walking distance from the train station. We will return!

Kirwan’s on the Wharf: what do users think?

Abhinav: Food: 3/5 Ambience:4/5 Service: 3.5 /5 The patio of this place on the wharf is pretty cool. We went there just because of that. The food was very mediocre for the prices they charge. We went around 9:15am, we had to ask for the menu twice, ask the waiter to bring cutlet after food was served. We were give only one menu card for a table of three. I guess the waiter was tired for the day but nevertheless expected better than that.

Kyle D: Cool place at the Wharf. Nice atmosphere, however the food was just okay. I’ve had better fish and chips before (the breading fell off the fish and didn’t seem to be seasoned as well as it could). The crab cake appetizer was very good, however.

Antoinette Levon: Service was good. Cocktails were tasty. Food was ok. The Mushroom Soup was really good. But the Caesar Salad lacked dressing and some of the lettuce was brown and old. The gnocchi and squash dish was ok as well. The Pot Pie tasted like it needed something. was a bit bland. Overall it will do if you are hungry and want a drink before our concert. Next time we will try somewhere else.

Paul LaVigne: Kirwans on the wharf is located right at the waterfront and is a good place to go if you have a hankering for Irish pub food. The location is excellent, and the interior is decorated very nicely, but the back room Bar area was exceedingly warm. That would be ok on a cool evening, however it was 90+ degrees when we went in and they’re looking to get relief from the heat. The bartender/waitress who served us was very nice and did a great job of making us feel comfortable. The food was superb as well. I had the bacon and cabbage meal which consisted of pork loin, bacon, cabbage and I opted for the sweet potato fries. It was one of the best pub meals I’ve had. My wife had the lamb burger with colcannon mash. She said it was the best burger and mashed potato dish she’s ever had.

catch_hug: Great for beers and a quick bite. Waiters seem all very good trained and attentive. Food was spiced dezent and authentically, even though the tuna poke (wich btw is not what you are serving) was way too much sesame. Local craft beers on tap, try the sour.

Sam D: Stopped here to avoid the humid day. Great atmosphere and cool a/c. I grabbed a Chicken Pot Pie and it was the best crispy crust and chicken was on point. Highly recommend 10/10

Elizabeth T.: We stopped in here for a few drinks after a free concert and we’re happy with the prices considering the area. We stayed for a few appetizers and I honestly wasn’t that impressed. It did it’s job with curbing my hunger but it was enough for us to choose to go somewhere else for dinner. They sat us quickly and the waitress was very attentive to our needs and brought out the food quickly.

Thao Huynh: Great views and service! The seafood tasted fresh, but it just felt like it needed some more flavor. The drinks were honestly not that great but they look good. Bathrooms look cool but there needs to be more light. For the prices, food quality could have been better, but our server was amazing.

M Atienzasis: Across from Saint Mary Mother of God R.C. Church NW Washington DC, 15 min from Union Station. Interesting Irish stop spot with an active bar/restaurant serving lunch & dinner with attentive staff, try generous serving of ceeamy tomato soup & special grilled cheese sandwich with bacon & tomato. Authentic Irish decor sparking some nostalgia.

Jennifer Winand: This place is a must do! We were greeted with ice cold water as soon as we walked in (we had walked a mile to get here and it was so hot out). We had the best Shepherds Pie I have ever had and a delicious creme brule for dessert. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The best part? The most AMAZING staff. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Dan Saunders: Great place to grab a proper breakfast and watch the football. The service was great and showed many screens for the football. As a spurs fan it was great to watch the games amongst like minded fellow fans. Also the beer price was not too expensive with an offer on when spurs were playing.

Richard Svagerko: Had the Shepards Pie, and it was good. Our group had several beers that we thought was a little expensive. The atmosphere was good because of the large friendly group of Police Officers that were there celebrating National Police Week. Service was a little slow though.

Croom: Food was good but over priced for what you got. $19 shepherds pie worth $12 max, Reuben meal for $15 with $10 and a $12 cocktail that was basically water. The environment is cool though. We went on a Thursday evening and parking was difficult.

Soren Dews: Bayron was an amazing server. He was just the right amount of attentive to take care of us but not overbearing. His personality was great, really nice and friendly. To top it off it was his first day serving! Thank you!

Diane Bencemulkerrin: I had the Spice Bag and wow it was amazing! Service was fab my husband had the Cheeseburger and said it hit all the right spots came in to get set up for the Luton v Huddersfield match and got it sorted in no time nothing is too much trouble Will definitely be coming back!!!

Kalina Shushlina: This is the beast place! We sat for dinner, the atmosphere is amazing, they have good drinks too. The prices are very good for the portions that you get and it’s delicious. The staff is also very helpful and polite. If you are in the aria I recommend!

Joseph Wright: Great authentic Irish bar in NW DC. Excellent for New York Giants games. Very friendly bartenders who know everybody almost like family. Enjoyed my beer and a Reuben! Fun to be there.

H D: Good bartenders, Guinness, and nice pub food. Warm atmosphere too.

Danny Shelton: A great neighborhood watering hole. Bartenders are very friendly, wings done right, serviceable bar food. Love that they started up the new bartender curated shot and beer specials as well.

Renato Nardello: The entrance foes not appear inviting, but inside it’s really good. It’s a pub but it’s also a family-friendly spot for a lunch break while or after visiting the zoo. Ample seating, great food choice (chicken tenders, chicken wings, sandwiches), friendly staff, honest prices, and… air conditioning!!

Cody Starken: The best place in Washington D.C. for fried pickles. If you are a fried pickle aficionado, you know how hard it is to find a restaurant that makes them correctly. Seriously though, the staff is friendly and great. The atmosphere is lovely. The menu is what you expect from an American-Irish pub. If you are in the area, stop in and have a bite.

Jim Laurenson: Excellent service, friendly bar tender, great brews on tap, excellent BBQ cauliflower. And they fill growlers! Though a tad on the expensive side.

Erica Milkovich-Padilla: Friendly people drinking, staff was nice, food was okay nothing special. The people and the entertainment as well as drink specials put this place on the revisit list!

Kyle Durant: Great local Irish pub. Reuben and onion rings were delicious, and so was the beer on tap. Bartender was quite friendly.

M.: Great place to watch a rugby match. Wish they had more than 1 TV outside but whatever, you get to make friends. Local teams also hang out here, and it was fun to meet some other players. Would recommend. Food was also well beyond typical pub food and was in fact quite good.

SM Smith: Eli was hospitable the other night, but his “boss” or manager so hyperactive tonight. Yelled at an older man who mistakenly lit a cigarette. When I asked about the whereabouts of Eli, got angry and ego-centric that he was Eli’s boss, and that he had sent him home earlier, blah blah. Who cares dude? Just be a top notch friendly bartender, not a rude dude. You need to seriously chill. This place could be great, but needs some ego check. Was fine earlier in the week food-wise and service-wise before anti-customer service reps came in to swing their experience and ego against easy customers. Hire new people to make your vibe right.

John Evans: Great experience at a long time DC restaurant relocated to my neighborhood. Loved the fish and chips recommended. This is the new West End spot for casual dining, beers, drinks and sports TV everywhere. Happy Hour prices for food and drinks. Wings!!

BigMaMaSaiyan: I LOVE the Buffalo wings. The bleu cheese dressing is fresh and full of cheese. These alone are worth the trip. Good service and even better drinks make it a fabulous date night.

bigman250: I went to this place on the recommendation of my friends for their good food.. I got an attitude from the guy taking order. I asked him he was having a bad night. he said no. I am a black American, the only one in the restaurant, he was not accommodating at all. I ordered a ruben and fries and a Guinness while I waited he acted like I was bothering him with my request. I told him if he did not want my business I would go else where. I know when I am disrespected after my order was filled. If you are a POC, do not go to this place unless you want to be disrespected. The Rueben was not that good too.

john hammond: The menu was pretty much what you would expect --- basically fried. But, suprisingly, it includes a number of Central American dishes. The deal breaker was the insouciance of the management and server. Never again.

Parker Kelley: We googled this place and saw it was noted for the best wings in DC! We had to try it ! I got the fried chicken burger which was good, but wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. My fiancé got the wings with hot barbecue & Buffalo hot - he says they were 10/10. We were expecting the wings to be tossed in the sauce instead the sauce was poured on top, however, it didn’t take away from the flavor ! The atmosphere was great & we came on Tuesday trivia night. Would definitely recommend it to others for the wings !

Martin Brennan: Great little bar excellent food and service.Richard and his Staff are amazing and the bar captures a great friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Definitely will visit again in the future.

Emily Deanne: I really like this pub. It has a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. The brunch has decent food and the drinks are tasty. My friend is British, and he said the fish and chips here are the best he has had in the area. The closest to what he is used to having at home. I love the decorations inside because it makes you feel like you are in Ireland, not in Virginia. Check it out if you are a fan of pub food!

Ashley Anne Hamby: Best Fish and Chips in the DMV area. Also, try the crab and corn chowder!! It’s hearty and so delicious!! Great warm drink options. Service is always fantastic!

Martin Clock: Great service, really attentive. Good food (the potato leek soup was delicious!), and the ambience was perfect. I enjoyed having different rooms - bar, dining & music. Decor felt authentic. Price was moderate.

Neil Greene: On a busy Friday night, I was able to find a cozy corner in the whiskey bar. Bartenders were attentive, and enjoyed the evening.

David Hudson: Irish pub: great food, always great events, fun staff, and character. A crowd when you want it and spacious when you need it.

The Celtic House Irish Pub & Restaurant: what do users think?

Michael “Newmie” Newman: Haigh! Welcome to The Celtic House — Arlington’s authentic Irish pub that brings you back to the times whence you enjoyed your youth vibrantly at public social events and just ‘pubs’ alone or with your mates. For me and my “Paris Latina” wife — a Lass who enjoys on occasion a fine pour of Guinness or margarita — here means recollection of our days together long pre-Covid, before our two sprouts graced the bassinet, those early years when us not yet having the bit o’ earned gold in pocket kept our leisure expenses to a pained minimum. My my my! As Dylan doth sang, the times… they are a changin’! Presenting thusly is Arlington’s Irish best. A high expectations fulfilled of a real man’s town bar and commercial kitchen, a lengthy selection of Ireland’s finest libations (several Irish Creams alone!) and expertly prepared Gaelic fare. All to revel in is served up by angelic, smiling lassies (so far we have met one from Waterford, another from Derry/Daire, and… a smiling Filipina??? 💛) with their joyful, easy conversations. Never is your party overcome by the gentle background music which soothes the beast of the day’s end that a hardened, hardworking man feels inside. If ya do prefer even, partake of the outdoor seating — offers up that Springtime in Galway ya wished for as well! [Dogs welcome 🐶!] Been a long time since my vocals hit the key notes on “Danny Boy”…. Good thing, too!… Because the owner here is named Mike (how cool is that, eh?) hailing well from County Clare. Nicely appointed, amicable and amiable, he makes this neighborly pub a friendly place just himself… and can be seen jostling through steady at any open hour amidst the zinc and the comfortable chairs astride solid tables/booths on his personal rounds to greet all the patrons. Clearly evidenced, Ireland 🇮🇪 and her masterful glory floweth still in his vibrantly youthful veins. We tried the buffalo wings on several occasions, and the flavor richness is some of the best found in South Arlington. Order them during your favorite sports event whilst at the lengthy zinc, or at an indoor table, as the TV’s are plentiful and viewable from all angles. Also delectable for me are the fish tacos, and only bettered by my recently noshing the fish sandwich. Oh my goodness… was that the tenderest fried fish filet ever (double, on a brioche bun) with a tangy tartar sauce, crisp fresh lettuce, and tomato (if desired, not my choice). A hefty portion of french fries, cooked just rightly — “chips”, the ubiquitous side that here actually rivals some hidden locations once known to me in Cite Bruxelles back in the day. The Contessa herself enjoys the steak and cheese. Large, filling, and some to take home. Surprisingly so, for ne’er does she try, let alone enjoy, a sandwich! The steak pieces are palatable, cut perfect, and covered in a simple cheese without a drowning, greasy mess so often done. Another dinner excursion among family saw me ordering the precious and delectable and thick lamb burger, which, for this man who usually eschews the carnivore tendency held within, proved to be a sandwich unlike any other found inside the DC Beltway fold. Satisfy you much it can, left overs to take for tomorrow possible, and yet you won’t feel that gut-bomb which often occurs from so hearty a meal. Once a young’un in Paris, viewing tv rugby 🏉 games at the James Joyce in Les Halles or The Quiet Man (both stalwarts for a good Guinness pour), now here be me giving thanks to God that The Celtic House in S. Arlington isn’t itself across The Pond. To reiterate for erudition: County Claire Mike (owner extraordinaire) & Princeton Steve manage a happening, vivacious crew known for excellency in pleasing the clientele. 🍻 [A small concern: not a bottle of Proper 12 behind the bar. McGregor, my 2nd fave competitor after Jackie Stewart (yep, my gray hair is not unjustified), not then welcomed? Ok, that’s fair. Instead, perhaps Finnegan can have his blessed wake here?] ☘️ Slainte Mhaith! 🙏🤠 **Live Celtic music every Thursday — a true pot of gold at the end of the Arlington rainbow*

Stoonookw: Always love coming here. I hardly ever go to any other Celtic pubs and usually choose this place over breweries because you just can’t beat the food. PLEASE stop by this place for an authentic Irish experience

A Mac: Have been in this place multiple times with my coworkers. Fish and chips are really good but very greasy. Good place to go with friends.

aimee curran: I absolutely love going to The Celtic House! Not only is their food amazing but the service is out of this world! I recently visited from Roanoke VA and accidentally left my wallet. I was almost home before I realized I had left it. I called and spoke with the manager and he agreed to ship it to my home. Not only did it arrive in a timely manner but he refused to allow me to pay for shipping it to me. My wallet was returned with all contents as I had left it! Great food, good service, and outstanding citizenship from this establishment! 10/10 would recommend!

Paul H: Wonderful Irish Pub! My favorite local restaurant. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food never disappoints. I love the Shepherds Pie, Celtic House Steak and the Irish Egg Rolls! Staff are first rate, attentive and make you feel at home. Highly recommend.

Diane Leiter: Very nice spot, and the bartender was really helpful. We hit it with five minutes to go for happy hour, so got half-price on our drinks and our food. The chicken wings were wonderful. I did not see a handicap entrance, so there are two or three steps to go up to get inside.

Cheryl Evans: Stopped in for dinner one evening and ordered the fish and chips and had a pint. The fish and chips was tasty but giant and enough for two people to split. The only drawback to that was that it was all breading and very little fish inside. I ended up taking off part of the breading just to dig out the fish. The fries were waffle fries and they were seasoned and they were good. The tartar sauce and coleslaw we’re both very good. I recommend stopping in if your hungry for some bar food in a pint. This is a small place so go early or check it’s busy meter before you go. All in all for about $16 plus tip I had a ginormous dinner that was pretty tasty.

Craig Reeder: Overall disappointing, any true Irishman would be offended. The food was sub-par for Irish fare. I had the cottage pie which came out from the kitchen in less than 10 minutes (that should be a sign). It had a little bit of ground beef, very little carrots and no peas or gravy to be found, all topped with a modest amount of potatoes and grated, half melted cheese. The Guinness was tasty, however at $8.50 a glass I expect to be served in a pint glass, alas it was only a 12 pour. To top it all off there was a 15% ‘auto’ gratuity for just one person. I would, however, recommend the bathrooms as they are this establishment’s nicest feature.

Alexander Staufenberg: An amazing bar with a great team. Walking into the bar you feel like you’re walking into your living room. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Great at any time of the day or night.
Response: Love to hear this! Yes we are truly fortunate to have an incredible team! We appreciate you taking the time to post about it!

Refuse Collection: So I got the Shephards pie. The meat tasted odd and it was swimming in oil like they just scooped it up from a pan. I am so freaking disappointed because I was excited for heavy food. But the taste was so poor. I wish I just walked the 3 miles to to other Irish pub. I should just drank my spit. I was dumb. I should have looked at the food in store. Plus the serving size was so SMALL. I actually think it may have been somewhat rancid because it coated my mouth with this weird after taste. This container was half freaking full.
Response: We will take a look at this dish Mr. Collection! Sorry we didn't meet your expectations.

Tom Johnson-Medland: The fish and chips here where exceptional. The place was clean, well cared for, and elegant. The menu was diverse, and prices are reasonable. The staff are kind and friendly. Drinks were a little pricey, but the food was not. I’ll be back here again. Stop in with your friends for a good meal and a drink. Great location.

Wise County Youth Soccer Youth Soccer: Maybe not a good night. I had a Cottage Pie that was very greasy. I don’t believe it had any flour in the pie. I’d rate that entree as poor. The beer was cold and service was good. If that’s your Cottage Pie ( not Shepherds), I think I’ll do the fish next time. Great atmosphere. Nice people.
Response: Thanks for the feedback, we will definitely look into the cottage pie quality and recipe. The fish and chips are excellent by the way....:)

DeLontae J: Excellent environment and experience. Bartenders are very professional and nice. During my first visit, Dominique showed excellent customer service and interacted with customers very well. I definitely will be returning along with recommending others to stop by. Thank you, see you next time!!
Response: Thank you for the 5 star DeLontae! We are very lucky to have Dominique as part of the team!

Roy Lawrence: We stopped in both nights during our stay for drinks and live entertainment. Maddie the bartender was great. Always there before we we finished our drinks even with the bar full both nights. Never seemed rushed and took the time to answer all the questions we had about the bar. Easily struck up conversations with people who had definitely been there before. Great vibe, friendly.

Erica Coker: Stopped in for drinks and appetizers. Live music started at around 9, so we stayed for that. It was a fun place to people watch. Place is a little small. Bathrooms were clean, unisex downstairs, men and women restrooms upstairs. Plenty of craft beers and Irish fare.

Chris Yoder: The best Ruben sandwich I have ever had. Seriously this is what everyone else should strive for. The bartenders are top tier. Very interactive and seem excited to be serving drinks to the people. 10/10. Wish I lived here so I could come back every day.

DuWayne Layton: Great pub. great police patch collection all over bar. Food was delicious and service was great!

Aaron northcutt: Food is inexpensive, but very good. Service was incredible as always and the atmosphere is great. You can’t beat the price for that area and quality. I will definitely be returning.

Melissa Bozeman: Maddie is awesome! Love this place!!!! She made my birthday extra special with the cake she brought to me at the end of our meal.

chparatrooper88: Murphy’s is a great spot.Live music.Irish Coffee and house recommended whiskey is legit.$$

Paulette Snyder-Gilbert: Wow! So good and very nice servers. Very timely even with a packed house. Thanks for the fabulous Ruben.

Wayne Yung: Great atmosphere, food and service. Overall a welcoming and pleasant venue. Big thanks to Mary - Who put up with a rowdy bunch of Marines who may have forgotten they were not in the barracks. I would go out of my way to come here again.

Archana Raju: Loved the food and vibe here. We ordered the boneless wings (super crispy btw), chicken pot pie, fish and chips, nachos and couple of drinks . Everything tasted really good and wasn’t greasy! The service was super quick, the atmosphere was fun and lively, especially after 9pm with the live karaoke! Would definitely recommend this spot if you are looking for chill spot to hang with delish food, drinks, and music.

Hanna Foreman: Great prices for Friday night dinner and drinks. Ordered the boneless Buffalo wings with celery and ranch. Could’ve been a little bit more generous with the ranch but either way the food was superb for the price. Only reason why I’m giving 4 stars is because of the slow service.

Nate B: We enjoyed this place. The only issue we had was the Yuengling draft did not taste right. Otherwise, it was a nice place. Service was great. I would recommend this place.

Giles Peng: Great drinks and if you sit outside, it’s a nice place for people watching during the right time of day. I had a few Carlsberg beers during happy hour and some delicious dinner while sitting outside, then I had a Solace beer and a friendly chat with another bar goer. Later, I returned to listen to karaoke and possibly sing a song and have some more drinks; there was a decent crowd for a Wednesday, and I would visit again for the karaoke.

Charles P.: This place rocks. The bartenders are awesome and great to strike up a conversation with when they aren’t too busy. One of the best places to watch European football and American football alike with other fans. Beer is a bit pricey, but on par with local prices and the Irish fare is quite good. Also enjoyed the wings here a lot. One of my go to’s!

Sam: Go here if you want a true Irish pub vibe. Very cozy and great live music occasionally. Best memory was drinking a Guinness in the back corner next to a roaing fire in the hearth. Magic

Nate Lauer: One of my favorite Irish pubs I have visited. Service is fast, customer service is top notch and the Fish and chips were quite impressive and generous in the portions. Not all supposed Irish pubs feel very authentic but this one fits the bill for drink selection, Irish atmosphere, good food, friendliness and an all around warm experience head to toe.

Thomas Stiles: Great food and service. Good selection of beers. Very lively, but loud. Hard to have a conversation. They have outdoor dining.

Edward Amartey-Tagoe: Good food and professional staff. There was a mix-up with our order and there a couple of solicitors who came over to our table whiles we were eating. It took a lot away from the experience. There options to sit outside or dine in.

Motts Zilla: Food is always good here. Ordered American breakfast, sausage eggs bacon was very delicious, the waffle was overly sweet though. Tasted like sugar. Don’t add syrup ! Drinks were good too. Typical pub environment.

Surbhi Kanotra: Awesome Pub with a great beer selection and amazing food.

Rachel Gallagher: This is a real treasure in Silver Spring. We always eat there after seeing a movie at the Regal theater. The food is delicious. My favorite is the huge serving of filet of haddock and chips - hot, very big portion and always delicious. My husband loves the Ruben and the rest of the menu selections. The wait staff is very good and the food is always served hot and prompt.

Syerra Carigo: We came to watch the game last night and had dinner. The bar unfortunately closes at 10 due to Covid restrictions, but they do a great job socially distancing the guests so you feel safe while you eat. They also require you to wear face masks when you’re not at the table. The food is really good and the staff are nice. It’s a great spot to grab a burger and a beer!

melanie paydon: Before I start, this is an AUTHENTIC Irish Pub. Something we’ve been searching for. Classic poutine was an amazing choice for my girlfriend, while I enjoyed the Banana custard French toast. Both were out of this world. Not very kid friendly if they’re used to tenders and fries. Regardless they do have an authentic kids menu.

Shani LeBlanc: Outstanding restaurant! The staff is very friendly and they always have a smile to greet you. The food is fresh and continues to exceed my expectations ever visit. I can’t say enough great things about this great place. Thank you for making every visit better than the last!

Debra Wilder: Definitely captures the dark Irish pub feel. Food was good, nachos were made with their homemade potato chips which was unexpected but surprisingly delicious. We also enjoyed the Irish egg rolls, whiskey sizzler with chicken (comes out like fajitas on that cast iron sizzle skillet but made with a tasty whiskey sauce), Shepards pie and the Rueben sandwich. I would recommend both the Shepards pie and whiskey sizzler 👍. Prices are pretty average for the area and we enjoyed the atmosphere, the back area has a bigger bar, there was live music and tv’s for taking in sporting events. There is a small area for outdoor dining as well.

Glenn DiResto: Nice Irish Pub in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Loved the Irish Nachos which instead of like traditional nachos it had tater tots in place of nachos and corned beef in place of ground beef. Loved my nice cold Guinness too.

Hilda Kroll: I checked menus all along King Street before I decided that the Corned Beef and Cabbage was exactly what I wanted for lunch. The meat was lean and tender and everything was covered with a delicious creamy sauce. Lyle provided great service with a smile.

TJ Colaci: Cool place! Nice traditional Irish fare, great variety with their brunch menu. The place feels like your taking a trip back in time. Has an interesting old style/historical feel to it. Upstairs has a rooftop garden type dining area. Really pretty!

Frank Jobe: Great place to visit to get your Irish fix! Great service! We had breakfast there on St. Patrick’s Day, and people were drinking beer already☘️ We enjoyed the ambience and food. Totally recommend! (Constructive criticism: cook your “baked beans”. They tasted like they were dumped out of a can, and just warmed-up. You have to simmer them; evaporate some liquid, and concentrate the flavor. And the toast; there was no crisp, no crunch. Just my opinion.)

Matthew Costello: We did a carry out order tonight—a fish fry, a Rueben, a kids grilled cheese and kids Mac N Cheese. When I called in the order, I asked—does the fish come with tartar sauce? Yes. Does the Rueben come with 1000 Island dressing? Of course. This is all listed on the menu, so why did I ask? Well, the last time I ate here they didn’t give me 1000 Island dressing for my Rueben so I thought, I better remind them just in case. Not only were there no sauces, the fish fry also had no coleslaw (also on the menu). Food was not good, fries were soggy—clearly were cooked some time ago and sat out; or they need to change the oil in their deep fryer as it’s soaking into the food too much. Mac n cheese was disgusting—like cheese from a nacho cheese dispenser on it, noodles were hard. Oh, and to top it off, we also ordered desserts. One was apple pie, which came with this delicious looking tablespoon serving of melted ice cream which is vanilla (maybe?) but looks mustard yellow. Didn’t even try it, washed it down the sink. Called the manager and informed him of these issues. He tried to explain why tartar sauce would not be there because he said it was used for the coleslaw (huh?) I then told him there was no coleslaw and he needs to get better control of his kitchen. No offer to compensate or address the issue, but that’s fine—it’s not like we would want a credit or free entree to such a terrible restaurant. I never write poor reviews, but I decided this was necessary because it was so awful. Hope I don’t get food poisoning in the next 24 hours—if so, I’ll be back on here to report.

Nathan Portnoy: I don’t know what happened… you guys used to be amazing but now nothing seems right. Your menu is slim, you took the good stuff off of it. You put a Tom collins in a rocks glass instead of a Collins glass. Your mash potatoes tastes like it came out of a box. I am not impressed, I’m saddened. This place was a icon. Not anymore. Service was amazing!! Food wasn’t.

Angel Hesseltine: Great service! All employees were super quick, nice and helpful. Great food too! Amazing experience overall

alison w.: lovely outdoor seating. fantastic service and speedy food delivery. the brie and warm bean dip were spectacular, and the fish and chips are a must try. will definitely be back!

Tim Green: Awesome place! Food was excellent and the staff and service were attentive and very helpful. Thanks for making a tough day so much better.

Harley Stine: Reliable roadhouse food consistently hits bar top (I eat at the bar) piping hot. Food is always attractively plated and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. Eating at the bar exclusively I can only comment on service there which has always been competent.

Alm419713 snakes: This is one of my favorite Irish restraints I have been here only four times but every time they have impressed me. This time I had the shepherd pie and this was so delicious. My whole family said they loved it. The other times I got the buffet on Sunday and they had such a great variety of foods and drinks. I would suggest that you bring your family they also have a great bar.

Oksana Podorovskaya: Went to this place for lunch today before saint Patrick’s day. For Irish pub they have surprisingly narrow selection of beers. We ordered Irish bangers and Mac and cheese with steak. Irish bangers and mash kind of disappointed. It is much better in FDB eatery, and here beans seems like just microwaved from the can. Mac and cheese with steak is yummy and served with mushroom sauce and gravy. Very yummy. Service is good enough. Our server was very nice and pretty attentive. Good enough but not the best food place ever

Travel Jones: I had a wonderful time last night celebrating my birthday and Saint Patrick’s Day at The Auld Sheeban! It was already packed with people celebrating when my husband and I arrived at 5:00 but we lucked into a couple of seats at the bar within a few minutes and stayed there the entire evening. The bartenders were amazing, getting drinks and food out at a fast pace all the while staying good-natured and friendly with their customers. I’m usually not a fan of traditional Irish dishes but their food was really good and I ate every bite. The band played all the traditional Irish songs I love as well as some I hadn’t heard before. We are newcomers to Fairfax and this was a wonderful introduction to the area. ☘️☘️☘️

Jerry Miranda: Amazing food and service. Live band played classic Irish music. Our service was top-notch. Free parking nearby. Large menu with lots of options. We had a wonderful time and will go back.
Response: Jerry, thanks for the great review and we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the pub. Hopefully you will visit us again soon. - Mick

rhonda moore: Amazing food and service. First time here. Our server Adrian made an amazing recommendation for the shepherd pie and the stew. They were awesome. They were also able to accommodate my soy allergy. We will be back and the service was just wonderful. Good coffee too. Many thanks and we will be back. Thanks Chris and Rhonda
Response: Chris and Rhonda, thanks for the 5 stars and the great review! So happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to the pub, I will be sure to pass on your compliments to Adrian. Hopefully see you again soon. - Mick

Giles Peng: Chill evening at Auld Shebeen with a nice dance-y vibe at the weekly Transit party on Wednesday in the cellar ( entrance at the side entrance around from the main entrance to the bar ). DJs spinning mostly dance music and sometimes experimental electronic music. If you have some time on a Wednesday night, it’s worth checking out. A video of the DJ spinning early on a Wednesday and some pics of the area outside.
Response: Giles, thanks for the great review! Thanks for joining us for the Transit party and great to hear that you enjoyed your time here. Hopefully we will see you again soon. - Mick

Ted Cummings: The Auld Shebeen is a well-established Irish Pub in the City of Fairfax. My adult children and I enjoyed an opening round of draft Guinness beer and a Magners Irish Cider accompanied by an appetizer of their fries (I recommend adding the curry sauce!) I had the steak salad which was delicious! The kids fish and chips got polished off, so there were no complaints there, either! Our waiter was pleasant and attentive, and Management checked on us after the meal. A great dinner out in Old Town!

Thomas G: Cool local bar with a good vibe. A few TVs with sports games. Friendly staff.

Joe Joemer: Excellent prices, a fantastic environment, and a truly unique bartender. That kind of service is unavailable anywhere.

Nathan Hunt: Slow but the bartender was very welcoming and awesome. Good place to hangout. Great place to have meetings and socialize. Look for James...

Jonathan Ferguson: Head a great time here with friends on our last night in DC. Awesome service by James!

Stefano Annoscia: Great prices, amazing atmosphere, and the bartender is one of a kind. You don’t get that type of service anywhere else.

Georgij Alekseev: Great place! Great prices! Try it out
Response: Glad you had a great time!

Behind the Bar with JR: Best local dive bar in Foggy Bottom/Georgetown. Bartenders are funny and personable, patrons are chill, sports are always on, great indian food + fried food.
Response: Thanks JR! That's what we try to be!

Kacie Erb: We came here today to celebrate St. Paddy’s. It was quite busy (as expected) but the few ladies that were working were so attentive and friendly. I honestly don’t know how they were able to serve so many customers that efficiently, but it was impressive! We ordered two Irish dishes which were delicious and came out steaming hot. Not many places get the food out that quickly to you. We really enjoyed it and will definitely come back again!

Carla Del Solar: Always a good time. Great Guinness and delicious sweet potato fries. Come here very often. Very chill 😃 great for catching up. Staff os lovely and super friendly.

Rajiv Dewan: Weekend breakfast is awesome here. French toast is a winner. And so is the Irish breakfast. Oh and the fish and chips are awesome. Yes you can eat them for brunch. The bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys are awesome and really elevate the breakfast. Super friendly staff as well.

Bruce StJohn: This is a very nice Irish-style pub in Rockville Town Center. The staff is very helpful. I like to sit outside, drink beer and eat happy hour food. Inside is well ventilated.

Anton Belaschenko: Bridget is always amazing. Great owners, cute puppy, love this special gem with amazing vibe, fish tacos and local crowd.

Justin McPherson: A nice small Irish pub in In the Rockville Town Square of Rockville, MD. The food was great and they are one of a few places that really know how to make a good Guinness properly. A nice place for a company event and happy hour. They have brunch every Saturday and Sunday with $15 bottomless mimosas. Note: The the street parking can be a little annoying because you have to download the “ParkMobile” app and put at least $20 on the app to use just 1.75 to park. You can also use quarters (if you have any at the time). There are parking garages which are free for the first hour.

Penny King: I had a beet salad with lots of substitutions. #allergygirl had avocado, oranges and walnuts changed to almonds and pears. While the flavor was good the salad was a bit limp. The pita looks great until you turned it over... it was very burned. They did make it right and the next one was soft and perfect. The service was terrible our drinks (tea and water) were never refilled. Even after I asked. It was trivia night and that was fun!
Response: I am sorry to hear that we didn't get it all right Penny. Thanks for taking the time to review us.

Khoi Nguyen: This is one of my favorite Irish Pubs in the city. They have really great specials on drinks. The shepherds pie and old fashioned are a cant miss here. Highly recommend this spot for a pre and post drink if attending a Capital One arena event.

Preston Frazier: A nice, standard Irish pub in downtown DC. Many choices of Guinness beer among many other drinks. The roasted red pepper hummus appetizer tastes great if you are looking for a snack! The service was a bit slow, but overall it has a pleasant atmosphere.
Response: Appreciate the 4 stars!

Lesley Casanas: The location is perfect! The service was very good! The food was okay. The chicken tenders were really good but the shepherds pie was not so great. The drinks were good too! They have a great selection!

Shawn: The food was great and the table service was good for the amount of people who were in the bar. The only downside is they needed more people working the bar, we were passed over about 9 times before we were waited on but the bartender was very apologetic & very friendly. Place looks great inside.
Response: Sorry to hear that we were a bit behind on your visit. We appreciate your understanding! And thanks for the review.

Peter: Food is good. Atmosphere is not. Way too loud in all the wrong ways. Drinks are cheap but they also tasted kind of cheap. Pick your poison I suppose. Definitely recommend sitting at the bar for faster service.

Aqsa Bashir: The pub was regular like any other pub. The bar tender was nice. I just wanted to nibble on something so I ordered chicken fingers and fries. The chicken was tender and moist but they could make a “signature” sauce to make it special or garnish it a little.

Christian Wietholt: It was a fun place, but needs some maintenance. The food at the Chicago location is way better, but this still captures the Fado atmosphere.

Arthur Molines: Irish pub, expect Guinness, cocktails and Irish pub food. Nothing to be disappointed about here, the food is good, the happy hour generous, and the service efficient. Multiple TVs to follow sports.Bonus point for all the Guinness based drinks!
Response: We really appreciate this review Arthur.
