Walter Eubanks: Solar Solutions Review Solar Solutions did an excellent job setting up my solar panel system. First, they installed 28 solar panels on my house and garage in less than a day. Second, I decided to buy my Panels, so they pointed me to a low interest rate credit union where I got a loan to buy the panels and arranged for me to sell the excess electric monthly on the renewable electricity market. Those payments are deposited in my bank account. 0verall, I am very pleased with Solar Solutions.
John Cochran: Robert Taylor with Solar Solution worked hard to get our business, beating the prices from competing companies. Solar Solution then delivered a "turn key" system as promised, installing solar panels on the roof of our DC row house and handling all the paperwork, etc., with Pepco. The installation crew did a great job, working efficiently and quietly, and the electrician, who handles multiple jobs each day, stayed late at our property to connect everything, ensuring that they met their promise to have everything installed in one day. I do recommend them highly. The entire process was easy and drama-free.

I think the easiest way to put it is that we don’t think about it much — it works just as it’s supposed to and we have eliminated our electricity bill completely. Subir Lall: The panels have been working smoothly for 6 years and I had to call them recently as my roof needed to be replaced. They promptly uninstalled the panels until the roof work was done, and then did the reinstallation and a follow up check to make sure it was working properly. The process could not have been easier. They are a wonderfully efficient and responsive company and the panels have been a great investment.

Ipsun Solar: what do users think?
C. Colin Brinkman: Ipsun was an easy decision out of the 3 companies from which I got quotes for solar installations. The level of detail provided in the Ipsun documents prior to signing was far superior, and support afterwards has been outstanding. As a few others have noted Ipsun’s quote may not be the lowest, but for us it was the one that provided the most value in terms of price vs capacity, and their proposal was also the most detailed and transparent. The fact the Ipsun is a B Corp was an added bonus for us as well. Installation was completed in one day, and from initial quote to PTO it took just 76 days - impressive given building supply shortages and the need to get permits and inspections between Thanksgiving and Christmas. One other standout has been that Ipsun has handled absolutely everything, from filing for permits, to coordinating and meeting with inspectors. The will even sign you up for SRECs! I could not be more pleased and would not hesitate to recommend Ipsun to anyone considering residential solar.
Kevin Doty: Ipsun Power has been a great company to work with. They answered all of my questions regarding purchasing a solar system, guiding me through the whole process. The install crew that came to my house was very professional, courteous, and definitely knew what they were doing. Even after the project was complete, they submitted all the paperwork needed for me to receive the Fairfax County tax exemption! Also, Ipsun has a great website where all of my documents, pictures, project schedule, receipts, etc are all in one place, which is a great resource. Plus you get access to a phone app where you can monitor your solar panel performance in real time and trend it over the long term. Overall, I have no regrets with choosing Ipsun Power!

Ben: From beginning to end, Ipsun Power completed their job effectively and professionally. Herve was personally very responsive and helped answer questions. I received a proposal that presented an option to own the solar system or to have a no up-front cost installation. The benefits of each were clearly laid out. Once a decision was made to install a system, all the details were handled by Ipsun Power. Installation was completed in one day. Ipsun Power handled all the paperwork and coordinated the process with PEPCO. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the work and would recommend the benefits of solar while you can get them!

Everyone I worked with to make our solar installation happen — from the initial signing of the contract, drawing plans, site plan review, installation of the panels, follow up inspection, and final close out work — has been timely, kept me informed, and responsive to questions. A special thank you Humza, Andrew, Carl (and Installation Team), Abdul, Cindy, Joe, Herve, and the rest of the team. I was especially impressed with the care Carl took for his team members and their safety. Working in winter weather, through snow and sleet, is tricky and Carl’s first priority was to keep his team safe. A special thank you to Humza and Joe who patiently addressed many questions, as well as Herve who came to install a supplemental power conditioning piece of equipment to further reduce my power consumption, while reducing EMFs, and providing surge protection. If you are looking for a great solar company, Ipsun is recommended and you can stop your search. Once last piece of information in guiding your search for solar. Prior to going with Ipsun, I had another company (Vivint) provide an estimate of cost. My experience with Vivint was very negative. The representative could not answer some of the questions I asked and seemed evasive when I questioned some of the information (such as local tax rebates and incentives) he provided that I knew to be inaccurate. Additionally, once I indicated I was comparing companies and I was not going to sign the contract that day, the meeting with Vivint, turned sour (I was told that I was wasting his time). *I am so glad that Ipsun had a different approach (Very positive) and was the opposite of my experience with Vivint (Very negative).* Also, my neighbor used Vivint and had a negative experience with getting the system on-line - it took months of work to finally get it on-line after the installation of the solar panels. Beware of Vivint.

Phyllis Van Houten: Above and beyond: this phrase could have been created with Ipsun in mind. Working through my solar installation felt as though a dear friend (or a bunch of them!) took me by the hand and led me gently through it. Each aspect was thoroughly described and explained. I felt confident making decisions with the depth of knowledge provided - never with the hint of superiority or exasperation that is so common. Everyone at Ipsun seems to be downright excited to teach the entire solar process. The speedy replies to emails were breathtaking. Every question I had along the way was patiently answered. When the power company balked at the number of panels to be installed, they quickly handled it, explaining the necessity for it (relatives moving in). They even started to help me find financing as part of their services (though I took care of it). Installation was quick (~2 days) and masterful. AND for the first time ever, I did not have to clean up after workers!!! I am so proud to have a spectacular solar array providing my power. I count myself lucky to have had this experience with Ipsun Solar.

Sean DuBois: My solar project was completed last October and has been running smoothly, providing lots of clean energy! Working with Ipsun was very easy, they handled all the permitting, HOA applications, and of course every aspect of design and installation. Edward Winant: The crew at IPSun Power were great to work with, making the whole process easy. It started when they came out to the house to discuss the project. They started work on a proposal, and came out again to photograph the roof and finalize the design. Gave me a number of options for size and financing, handled all the permits and paperwork, and walked me through the whole procedure. Installation was quick and professional, took about a day and a half. Everyone on their team was friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone in the DMV area!

Revolution Solar: what do users think?
Dan McCarron: I had a great experience with Revolution Solar. From beginning to end, it was a seamless process that was much quicker than I had expected. I believe the whole process was only about 2 months to get the panels installed and generating clean energy. They are a great family owned and operated company - and more importantly, honest. They will do a sun study to verify if solar is actually worth pursuing. Once verified, they help you identify the appropriate amount of panels to install to get the best bang for your buck. They also help you get your roof repaired prior to the panels being installed. The installation only took one day and before I knew it, we were producing our own energy. I highly recommend Revolution Solar.

Sol Systems: what do users think?
Lew Sanford: Sol Systems rarely makes the effort to respond to small solar system owners. After I resolved the technical corrections to support accurate communications of my readings to Sol Systems I requested a correction to my last 4 quarters of SREC payments. I have done this four times since I installed a large system. Getting action has taken weeks requiring the customer to do all the legwork. This is not a customer oriented firm.
Ruben Gavilan: Is this company even operating anymore? None of their numbers, extensions, or attempts to get in contact with them will be met with any answers. Also in their documentation, they are saying they want 5% of each SREC Sale, + 5$ per sale... at current prices you are looking at a ~15% fee per SREC sold. Seems ridiculous, way higher than SRECTrade, which is at 7%

Michael Cauldwell: I installed a whole house solar system (44 panels) in a house we had just built. I received quotes from 5 solar companies. Ipsun’s price was very competitive and the sales person, Patrick, was incredibly helpful. Just a heads under, the entire process from paying the down payment to passing the inspection and going live took about 4 months. So, it isn’t fast. But Ipsun kept me informed on the status every step of the way. It too early to tell how much energy the panels are producing. All in all, I highly recommend Ipsun.

Michael Fratantoni: Ipsun designed and installed our solar system last year. We became fully operational in November. The system has worked even better than expected thus far, with an even larger drop in our electric bills than we had expected. The team at Ipsun has been a pleasure to work with, including post installation, with a quick repair of a malfunctioning inverter. We would highly recommend going solar and doing so with Ipsun!

Joe Rovansek: Was having an issue with productivity reports and requested assistance. James called yesterday to setup an appointment. Abdul and Melvin arrived at the time agreed. They were very professional and walked me through the process they would follow in correcting the problem. As they were running their checks it appeared that 2 panels were off line. They identified the panels and found a short. They fixed it and made sure the system was working as designed. Before leaving they briefed me on the issue, showed me the shorted wire and the connection. I really appreciated them coming out to fix the issue and their professionalism. They are a credit to IPSUN and I would highly recommend them and IPSUN for solar needs. Thanks for your continued great service!
Bill Larme: I was very pleased with the original installation of our roof top solar panels three years ago by Ipsun. It was quick, efficient and there have no problems. Just recently I had an issue with the Wi-Fi connection to the monitoring system and contacted Patrick Cavanaugh, our sales representative. Since none of the service reps were available the next day, he offered to come out and promptly solved the problem. Excellent service and much appreciated!

EDGE Energy: what do users think?
Don Hirsch: I recently had EDGE Energy install SunPower solar panels and SunVault backup battery at our home. They did a fantastic job. We are now paying essentially nothing for electricity! Their staff was knowledge and very courteous. Did everything as promised for the proposed price. Even connected us with a broker that provides Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC) which is a bonus that we did not expect. Highly recommend them!

Aurora Energy, Inc: what do users think?
Mitchell Werther: Aurora installed a 17 kw system on our roof during the summer of 2016. I started working with Aurora in the Spring of 2016. I was considering another company as well, so there were several months of questions and answers and updated proposals. I decided to use Aurora since I like the SunPower modules, the fact that Aurora was a local company that had been installing solar panels for many years, plus their excellent reviews. Aurora provided excellent communication during the entire installation phase (that took a little longer than expected, due to the excessive heat). I would like to provide extra thanks to Dustin who worked long, hot hours to make sure everything was done correctly. The only issue was the final system commissioning by SunPower, which should have been completed soon after installation but took several weeks. Aurora continued to query SunPower until the commissioning was finally completed.

Very reassuring with as big a process as installing solar. The team that did the installation was great — very polite, and did a fast and clean job. And now we are making our own clean electricity!!

Michael Leba: Excellent, transparent and honest up front consulting. Competitive pricing, no strings attached. Professional project management governing the entire project cycle and taking care of all paperwork. Straight forward installation (3 days for 46 panels) with zero interruption of power. Knowledgeable and super friendly installation team. Update after 3 months of waiting for the system to be operational and two failed inspections by the Township: Everything above is still true, BUT: The job is done when the system is up and running. The service team of Solar Energy World proofed to be absolutely unprofessional, unable to complete a very simple inspection process. No ownership, inability to fulfil the simplest requests by the inspector, not even an attempt to fix issues. After the good start of the project, I am now deeply disappointed. The lack of professionalism, the sluggishness of their processes and back office managers is the worst I have seen in a very long time. Even now, I cannot get any commitment to a date when the system will be operational, resolution of the simplest issue takes forever(the main issue for the past two months is to order the correct stickers for the system per request of the inspector - what a joke).

Kai Cadavid: I got my amazing solar panels by Solar Energy Services. My 10kw was commissioned in November of 2018. But the tale starts about 10 years before when I priced a similarly sized system. It was about 3 times as expensive, maybe more. This time around I priced it with SES and Tesla Solar to which I initially committed and signed a contract with. However, after a new roof was installed (after the rain/wind storms earlier in 2018), Tesla technician refused to install the panels and the contract was rescinded. They said the shingles (Certainteed, Presidencial series. Lifetime guarantee) where too thick and the installation pattern made it impossible for them to get their job done. THEN Solar Energy Services Stepped in and got my panels up. The whole process was quick and seamless. Communication was constant and all the details were taken care of for me. The electrical part was a breeze and the interconnectivity of the system got done painlessly. Then the registration with the brokers to sell my SRECS was taken care for me, even though they did not profit of that. Also, the financing was super easy as they got everything started with DCU., Lisa Walsh really gets it done and sticks to her word. The numbers are just right and the benefits are really what makes the decision to go Solar. I am available to tour my system or show the number$ that influenced my decision. Leon Cadavid: Installed my 10.8kW system in 2018. The process from quote to commissioning and sale of my SRECS was easy and went as smooth as it can be expected. They did a clean job and the communication was seemless. They set up my financing with DCU, and the brokerage of my SRECS as well. Lisa the sales person was quick and personable. Would use them again and recommend them to all my friends.

Richard Burgess: My initial experience with SES was tainted as my appointment was cancelled twice last minute. The first time no one followed up to reschedule. After posting my experience I was asked to give them another chance, which I did. The technicians showed up on time, were professional and answered by questions. The work seems to have been completed satisfactorily at this time. The company then followed up to see how the visit went. I have adjusted my review score based on this most recent service but also considering my first impression.

This was an older model heater and panels. Their technicians were polite and knowledgeable. They kept me apprised of what they were doing and any problems found. They were very respectful of my home. Stefnee Perry: We were referred by our roofing company in Oct 2018 to use Solar Energy Services to remove Our Solar City (Tesla) solar panels. We were told it would take two to four days to reinstall the panels after the roof was installed after the 30 day waiting period. It took almost three weeks. When asked why it was taking so long,, we were told they were not familiar with Solar City and were learning. as they were reinstalling the panels. Fast forward to 2020 when we had a Solar City maintenance crew come to inspect our panels, we were shocked to learn we had exposed wires and a laundry list of issues that made our solar panels hazardous to use. When we contacted Solar Energy with the issues, they refuse to take full responsibility saying they have a one year warranty ( that we were never informed of). They then said in an email that because of the support from Tesla they no longer work on their projects they said they are responsible for some of the issues, and would pay $500 towards the $2100 Tesla will charge to restore the system to working order. We had issues from the beginning from workers urinating in our back yard in plain site. Workers breaking yard lights or just not showing up . And the last day they were on site departing and leaving the back gate opening knowing we have dogs. That resulted in our dogs (3) getting out. As responsible owner we should have checked before we let our animals out, but they successfully closed the fence each day leading up to that. Thankfully all our dogs were recovered in a few minutes. To date, we are still finding parts in our that were removed by Solar Energy. Thankfully we have a good end to the story thanks to the roofing company Capitol insurance Restorations. They acted as a liaison between us and Solar Energy since they recommended Solar Energy. They were able to work with Solar Energy to reach a adequate solution for us. Please avoid Solar Energy as they do not stand behind their work or will say something is out of a warranty, a warranty they fail to inform you of
