Rasika West End: what do users think?

Abhishek Das: If you’re looking for authentic Indian food with real Indian taste this isn’t the place for you. Ambience wise it’s pretty good but when it comes to actual food it’s sub-par especially compared to the price they charge for the food. I went in with my family for lunch and ordered paneer-mussalam that came with a side of rice and along with that we ordered garlic naan and veg-biryani. Firstly they took 15 mins to take the order and then more than 40 mins to serve the order. The paneer tasted like rubber and the taste of the gravy was bad, they just added too much cream in it. The rice side appeared to be side of another side dish. The naan was the size of a puri and came cold when it reached our table. On top of that we ordered additional dishes as running order which didn’t arrive for half an hour so we had to cancel it as our appetite was done. Overall if you’re looking to enjoy good Indian food this isn’t the place but if you’re looking for a fancy Indian restaurant with an expensive menu then sure give it a try.

Nu S: Rasika has wonderful modern Indian cuisine. The restaurant focuses on Punjabi dishes and the food was fresh, made to order. My only issue was the service! The server was rushing us to leave the restaurant so they could get another table. It was a business lunch and the server brought the check as soon as we finished eating. They didn’t ask if we wanted anything further, we did! So we had to ask for them to bring the dessert menu. I am disappointed in the service here. Not sure if I will be back because of the way I was rushed through the meal and hurried out the door!

143 cry: Ok place. High end classy atmosphere, good drink too. Just didn’t like the over all service and food as per standards. The curry were little bland and felt like the waiter was rude or not interested in serving us. Went solely because of recommendation but was not satisfied. Probably better at some other location.

N K: The vibe and our server was amazing! We ordered mango shrimp, malai kabab, seekh kabab, lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, palak chaat, lamb chop, chili fish, and salmon. Everything was good except the biryani. It was super bland and not flavorful like a biryani should be. Not authentic.

Ido Simyoni: Service- was not great. The waiter was very impatient We got 3 entrees + side dish and they gave us a tiny bowl of rice, which I found to be very cheap. The food was ok. We shared - - Chicken Tikka Masala Onion / tomato / fenugreek powder - Chickpeas Kichadi Carrots / Sweet Potato / basmati rice / ginger / green chilies / Date Raita - butter chicken And side of Dal Dhungaree Smoked lentils / garlic / tomatoes Dessert- The pistachio one was bad. The mango mousse was ok. Probably won’t go back again .

Susan Miller: We were told about this place by a local and it was one of the highlights of our trip! The food was amazing and our waiter, Mani, gave us some wonderful recommendations for our dinner. The palak chaat is to die for! Highly recommend!

Heritage India: what do users think?

Evan Hines: Great dining experience, very pleasant staff. Food was very good as was the presentation and value. Speaking of value for money, if you give a restaurant one star in DC because it’s too expensive you may be better of having a Wawa sandwich or cooking at home for yourself… grocery stores offer affordable, abundant selections of fresh and tasty component ingredients for you to make anything you want, let the YouTube or tick tok be your cookbook. I will return, very nice restaurant 4/4stars.

Faith Massey: DO NOT GO!!!! This my second time coming here- right- why did I go again if it was bad the first time? Cause I LOVE me some Indian food, but the first time I came it was TERRIBLE service and small portions for large prices. Second time, (now) taking it to go I thought it would be different- no TERRIBLE service. Look- I tried to warn you- service is bad, food is okay, and prices are high.

Michelle Worsoff: Guys, let me just say something. This is the tastiest Indian food I have ever had in my entire life. It is the best quality you will find, which is why it’s very expensive. Yes, maybe the service isn’t perfect but the food that they serve is quite literally sent from god. I don’t get Indian food anywhere else because it’s all very bad compared to the food that this amazing restaurant makes. My favorite dishes are the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, butter chicken, with garlic naan. The chicken is cooked to perfection. They do not serve small portions, the bowls that they use look small but believe me, it’s very hard for me to finish even one of them as the food is so filling. I am an extremely tough critic, and seeing that this place has a 4.1 made me upset. If we are judging solely on food it deserves a 5/5 and I say this with complete sincerity. Good job Heritage India. Thank you for making one of my favorite foods of all time. Best, -M

Jordan L: First time trying Heritage India as I’m fairly new to the neighborhood. The quality seemed good, however for $25 for 1 tikka masala entree + naan, the price just isn’t justified. Portions are incredibly small compared to other places, and I can’t reasonably make out why this costs so much other than its location. Hate leaving poor reviews, but they either need to increase the size of their portions, or decrease the cost. Glad I did carry out because this would’ve been over $30 for delivery.

Osama Yousuf: Utterly disappointed by the serving size. They charged 9$ for 4 gol gappays (2 of which were miniature). Waste of money. The raita/sauce they sent had also gone sour.

Shannon Burton: good food, service not so great, prices too high in my opinion. The woman that takes calls is pretty rude and hasty. Not sure what her deal is, maybe she hates phone orders(?)....

Monica Middleton: Have been multiple times and always enjoyed my meal. Staff has always been very friendly as well and happy to provide recommendations on what to order.

Indigo: what do users think?

Devang Patel: Awesome Hidden Jewel in DC Metro Area. Simple, No Frill Indian (Desi) Restaurants. Home Cooked Food, Desi Dhaba Feel ambient. Owner and Michelin Star Chef always available to Suggest you the Food and Drink Options. We had a Awesome time talking to Chef and Owner about their Journey and Food was JUST YUM YUM YUM!!! Highly Highly recommended.

Al Zee: I think this has got to be my favorite restaurant. I loved the lamb - both the lamb curry and indi roll. The spicy masala chicken was the bomb. I had the mango lasso for dessert which was also awesome. Only wish the soft drinks were bottomless. Definitely recommend. Oh, and the owner (or maybe manager?) was very nice. Thanks for a great overall experience.

Repo Man: Great little restaurant to get lunch or dinner. Love the outdoor seating. No waiters service. You order at counter they will bring it to you. Everything in disposable containers. Please try goat and aloo paratha. Hard to find parking on busy day.

Elizabeth Tate: Somehow I always forget to post a review, but this is my go to place in DC when I want to impress my out of town friends with flavor and ambiance. I love the string lights outside, the mango lassi is the best in the area, and the samosas are a meal in themselves that I keep going back for at least on a weekly basis.

Emily Smith: Great food and great drinks and a cool atmosphere! It is all outdoor seating but in a covered area. The bathrooms are a bit dirty and it can get cramped; other than that, everything is perfect here. Definitely check it out!

Ryan Rieboldt: Wowza was Indigo delicious!! I don’t do well with spicy food but man did I love it and it tasted so dang good! Atmosphere and music an absolute A+. Will certainly be back very soon.

Jasmine Savoy: The menu was a bit overwhelming but the food was good! The flavors were popping which I appreciate & the ginger beer too! Portion size could’ve been bigger

Angelica Sauceda: Wow, didn’t even know this place existed! I’m so glad we stumbled upon it. People, this is legit Indian food. Paneer pakora 5 ⭐️ Lamb curry 5 ⭐️ Goat curry 5 ⭐️ Green bean Aloo 5 ⭐️ Chaná served with food also 5 ⭐️

Jyoti Indian Cuisine: what do users think?

Deepanshu Rao: This restaurant has a nice ambience and staff. We ordered Thali and Tandoor item, both were okayish but taste and quality could have been better.

sunita panigrahi: This Resturant is just the best for Indian food. Chicken tikka was amazing. Also the chicken makhanwala tasted really good. Don’t forget to order Rasmalai if you have sweet tooth like me ☺️You won’t be disappointed with this place.

Repo Man: This is your typical Indian place where one person doing everything. Foods take longer then busy restaurants. Portion are smaller then other Indian restaurants. We order 4 different dish all of them supposed to come with rice instead they give us small bowl of rice to share. Ask for more rice got charged $15 dollars extra. When rice becomes so expensive!!!!!

Mayukh Chakraborty: A real hidden jem. 1. Kofta Curry 2. Fish Curry 3. Lamp Korma (Boneless) 4. Papri Chaat 5. Bhel Loved the entire experience at Jyoti. We came for their Thali but it had a 45 mins waiting. So call them before you come for Thali. All in all an authentic Indian cuisine.

Amber: Food was ok not something extraordinary papri chat was different and nice .. tea was totally waste of money specially being an Indian resturant tea was English tea with extremely cold milk on side .. all the best to the owner and I hope they work on tea pakoras etc ..

Paul Vetrano: Jyoti is sweet little restaurant in the Adams Morgan section of Washington DC. Lots of great flavors and nice staff in a very comfortable setting. If you enjoy delicious Indian cuisine, Joyti will make your taste buds happy. It is definitely worth checking out.

Ido Simyoni: Nice Indian place in dc. I took one of the lamb dishes which was nice. my colleague took the butter chicken and was disappointed because it was spicy (which usually should be sweet)

Yarborough Cleland: Another Great India Resto here in Washington. I love this place and the food was always great.

Manan Mehta: Sorry to give one starI ordered Kadai Paneer, taste was not great not even upto the mark. Not recommend

Michael Bustamante: Excellent, affordable Indian food. They have options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters. The customer service is excellent. The gentleman at the cashier offered great suggestions, so don’t hesitate to ask for advice. We had one fish plate, one fish appetizer, and several veggie sides. Total cost with mango lassie was about $50.

Arindam Bose: Great food, great ambiance in an affordable family owned restaurant. I ordered the non veg thali that comes with 2 non-veg and 3 veg items plus a traditional indian roti. And the food was undoubtedly delicious.

Abo Raweyah: I am a big fan of Indian cuisine, but unfortunately this is one of the worst Indian restaurants I have tried. My family and I ordered food for 4 people. The chicken tasted old and dry on all our different dishes. Gulab Jamun was really really bad. The Garlic Roti Bread Tasted like old nasty garlic and I don’t understand why it’s green color. Search for this bread online and compare the pictures with the pictures of the one I received. Very bad experience with this restaurant.

M Wade: Great food and service! Staff was very helpful in making recommendations for me due to egg and gluten allergies. Amazing vegetarian options. Great vibe and full bar. Will most certainly be back!!!

Nanda Jagadeesh Doijode: Service on the table is not provided. You collect your own water. Dispose and clean the table after eating. Food is given in take away boxes. You can eat or take. No dine in feeling.

Helen Caballero: I love this place so much! Not only is the food delicious, fresh and always hot when I receive it but the people of the establishment are so nice and polite. I placed an order through ubereats and had my naan missing so I called them and within 15 minutes I had a fresh naan and a delicious dessert for the inconvenience delivered to my door. I would definitely recommend Masala Story to anyone who loves Indian food. PS the chicken samosas are the best I’ve ever had! 😋

Naredeen Mikhaiel: What a discovery!! The people there are so welcoming. The food is amazing. We got the chicken tikka and the chicken vindaloo; both were beyond our expectations. The chicken was so tender, and the sauce was just right.

Cafe of India: what do users think?

Madhavi Gajera: We love the food this is best Indian cuisine I have ever been before very good service and very clean test it’s best when you come DC you need to visit Cafe of India 🇮🇳

YOUNG-i The GOD: While in the midst of getting gas I could smell an enticing aroma coming from across the street. I said to myself, I have to try it! But before I could even order I had to toss the menu and walk out. Terrible customer service. Seems like they wanted to refuse my service. Waiters energy was way off. I asked is there any vegetarian options or seafood on the lunch buffet (most likely that was the aroma that brought me here), guy tells me no. With further examination, we detected that was a lie. Shout out to Maury and *%!# this place.

Irene Salloukh: After going to Royal India restaurant where no one served us or was even inside, we decided to Come here. Im glad the other restaurant was a fail because we ended up here and the staff is so friendly. They great you the moment you walk in, fast service, the food is DELICIOUS. We had the butter chicken and chicken Korma with garlic naan. We are from out of town but when we come visit our family again, I will definitely come back!

Niki McCarthy: We LOVE this neighborhood spot! We’ve ordered takeout and dined in on several occasions, and every time the food is so delicious and flavorful (you’ve got to try the crackling spinach, and the pistawala chicken is my go-to). Our 5-year-old has declared palak paneer as his favorite food after eating it, and the employees are always so nice and generous to him, even when just walking our dog by the restaurant. Highly recommend!

Alisa Wright-Tesconi: My husband and I went out to celebrate my graduation. We got there around 515. Now we have been to this place many times and the manager is really rough with the customers. I try to ignore it but he’s kind of really rude. Like the way he even gives menus it gives me a vibe and a unspoken feeling of hey here’s the menu, eat fast and get out. So we were talking and we had ate. There was a lovely young lady who dropped off the check, and a super lovely African American guy who gave us the to- go containers and a younger Indian guy who made our drinks. I liked their service. Anyways the manager knows us because we come in there but still it’s weird like he doesn’t like us. When we were drinking he came up and said I need for you guys to leave because we need this table and there were only 2 other tables. Like wtf…I have never in my life been kicked out of a restaurant. It was only 6pm and it was dead. We were going to leave within 5 minutes before he came up to us because we wanted to walk to friendship heights to go to DSW. I don’t think we will ever be back. That manager is rude and mean. Like stop talking down to your customers. It’s rude. It’s always a hit or miss. It’s like when I go there I think is he going to be in a good mood or not? I found a Indian restaurant in Bethesda called Virraaj. The manager there is superb. He is always friendly and more over cares about his customers. He is always welcoming to us. I wish I didn’t waste my graduation dinner here. I should have gone to Virraaj. Anyways food is good.

Sharath Patil: Amazing food and excellent customer service. The Pistawala Chicken was so good - highly recommend. I can’t wait to return.

mamesaye kane: Food was good and the price was great!

Shrishti Pachigalla: Love the food and the ambiance. The staff is very courteous. I can see why they are rated among the 10 best Indian restaurant in Washington DC area. And if you are missing home food and craving some ‘Gajar ka halwa’ don’t forget to order some!

manuel tortosa: I have been eating here for many years and it is my favorite restaurant in DC. The food is excellent, the ambiance is welcoming, and the service friendly.

NaanWise Indian Cuisine: what do users think?

Heena Patel: The restaurant uses a QR code based ordering system, so you can take your time with ordering and closing the tab when you’re ready to leave. There is also a server who comes around to refill your water and check-in to see if you need anything. Everything we ordered was flavorful and delicious. We got the vegetable samosas, shahi paneer, aloo gobi, and some rotis and puri (so, so good!). The portions were generous and the food came out lightning-fast. Also, the restaurant offers five spice levels for the entrees, which is really helpful if you’re dining with people who have different levels of spice tolerance. All in all, this is a solid spot for Indian food.

Core Shaft: This place has some great food and they have a great environment, the environment made me feel great with some music and nice modern approach, staff was friendly. There are a few occasional stains here and there but nothing unsanitary. I would recommend this to anyone who is not Indian or anyone who doesn’t have a spice tolerance but wants to try the most flavorful food because they have options for less spice. This is a great restaurant and I would definitely eat here again. 9/10 would recommend.

Sanjay Jindal: NaanWise serves original Indian ethnic food , travel from VA to dine in , Delicious, fresh Indian flavoured food , serving staff gives warm hospitality, excellent experience, definitely going back.

Chitranjan Nath: Ordered a dine in with 4 vegetarian items. The food here is very bland with limited taste. The potion size is small compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood. Overall.. Neither a value for money nor for taste. Can be avoided given that there are many better Indian food eat outs in the neighborhood.

T. J. Wooldridge: NaanWise is a gem! We had butter Chicken and Lamb Korma and they were both amazing. The Naan was outstanding as well. I cant say enough good things about this place. The owner and staff are so nice and friendly. Great lunch. Cant wait to come back.

Sangam Sharma: The best indian food in the dmv area. The quality of the food has always been so great and consistent.Owner is very nice and welcoming.Overall great experience.

Callum Wayman: My go-to Indian takeout spot. Great breads and spicy curry. As with most Indian places there is a great selection of vegetarian options, but I especially love their navratan korma. Also some delicious unique appetizers like the veggie Manchurian make naanwise a great gem in NW DC.

Derrick Nguyen: Awesome, amazing, delicious, authentic, generous portions, perfect amount of spice. Generous and competent workers. Great service, satisfying Lassi. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian food.

Roel Feys: NaanWise is our go-to place for Indian food. The food tastes great and each dish has a unique flavor, even when you request them not to cook it too spicy. We usually get takeout, but have dined in a number of times. Service can be a bit inconsistent, but the excellent food makes up for that. Make sure to try the naan with lamb and the Kabuli naan!

Dane Hartman: Fantastic food. My friends and I each got different dishes, and we all enjoyed them very much. I plan to return should I ever be in the area again.

Pappe: what do users think?

Rushit Lodaya: It was certainly a very busy evening at this place on a Sunday evening! I had heard and read a lot of good things about the place. The drinks did not disappoint but the food was mostly cold, and average Indian food. The spice level was dialed down but it was definitely good. I will try and visit again on a non-busy day to hopefully experience better food and service.

Affan Ahmed: The food was excellent, I found the flavors to be extremely unique. The jamun was the only let down, though the ice cream made up for it.The service was bad - enough to ruin the dining experience. Our waiter was not courteous and couldn’t care less about us.

sriharsh boddapati: Hostess didn’t check in with us after seating for about 10 mins, the bar tender finally had to come over and take our order. Some reviews over the past few weeks on Google have indicated staff issues looks like they are still resolving them. The food took even longer-25 min wait for the food to arrive, only saving grace was the food, reasonable quality. If you are looking for a good night out I would avoid making this your destination for the night! Hope the restaurant owners really focus on the service, the food and ambiance is great and it’s sad to see it get negated just because of the service.

umeeksha sharma: We went on a impromptu trip to Washington DC. After visiting various attractions all day we searched for some good Indian restaurants and we found Pappe! Every food item on a menu has some kind of twist and fusion but that does not compromise the authentic tastes of Indian food. 1) The Chillitini and the old monk cocktail is a must try! 2) Pappe has an amazing raw and authentic ambience. We tried tandoori chicken, gobi manchurian, chicken Malabar and biryani. I would rate everything 5/5!!! 3) Also, one of my friend follows Jainism (cannot eat root vegetables and some fruits). After giving the chef/manager a list of food items my friend couldn’t eat, the chef quickly made the food without giving a second thought! And this rarely happens with my friends since he cannot eat root vegetables and restaurant managers or chefs always don’t accommodate such requests. 4) don’t miss the Rasmalai tres leches and the chai crème brûlée!!!

Gopal Iyer: Was tired after a long day’s stroll around DC and visiting all the historical monuments and government buildings! Craving for Indian food, came across this restaurant. Ordered the Mattar Paneer, Dal Tadka, Malai Kofta and the Garlic Nan. Everything was tasty and adequate in quantity. The spice level was moderate! Overall it was a good experience! Definitely recommend!

Tucker Howard: I went here for restaurant week last night and they were having some wait staff staffing issues so service was a little delayed. However, the chef was incredibly kind and apologetic and the food and drinks were INCREDIBLE. I will definitely go again.

Vaibhav Hans: Food was ok, flavors could have been stronger in the chicken pista korma, but the malai kofta taste was strong and good. The gobi manchurian was awful. $9 for 4 pieces of cauliflower that had very little taste, and definitely not anything like an indo-Chinese dish, which is what it’s supposed to be.

Pete Perry: Great new Indian restaurant on 14th St NW. Stopped in here this past weekend, and was happy to see a pretty good choice of Indian Street Food and Vegetarian dishes! Absolutely delicious; fresh ingrediants, skilled cooking. And the service was very attentive and helpful.

Julie Snow: I love Indian food and have eaten it at venues all over the world. I ate at PAPPE last night and it is, by far, my new FAVORITE restaurant! They take a subtle, yet innovative twist on traditional Indian flavors without losing any authenticity. Utterly delicious. And the cocktails...I want to try them all. It is clear the Chef prioritizes fresh and healthy foods, which I appreciate, and the staff was helpful and kind. I will be going out of my way to visit Pappe often. Be sure to make a reservation as it was pretty busy for a Tuesday night!

Pursuit Color: Everything here is amazing! Literally salivating thinking of my last meal here. From the staff to the drink, and menu items, you are bound to have an awesome time and meal here.

Laliguras Glover Park - Indian/Nepali Cuisine: what do users think?

Allison Johnson: We ordered two lamb dishes and the meat was well spiced and tender. We did not like the Dahi Bhalle; they were bread dumplings with overly sweet yogurt sauce. Portions were smaller than what I would expect. Delivery was very fast.

YOUNG-i The GOD: Great vegetarian lunch special. The chickpea curry with the spinach, rice and bread! Definitely on point. And the small bed of green leaf lettuce is always a good addition to any meal, even if only for digestion purposes. But I definitely recommend this place. An associate of mine ordered a chicken dish and he said it was wonderful also. Just thought I throw that in there too. ✌🏼

Taylor Sloane: Very good Indian food. Probably the best I’ve had in DC. We had butter chicken and shrimp taka-tak. Specialties are tawa, which apparently means wok. A little bit pricey ($15-20 per main dish) but was worth it. Highly recommended for Glover Park.

nickie jordan: I typically love Indian food, but it’s been a while since I’ve ordered Indian takeout. I had never tried this place, so I ordered white meat chicken masala… I’m not exactly sure what the meat was, but it definitely wasn’t white meat chicken, or anything I could identify! I wish I had taken a photo, but I was too taken aback, and they were closing for the after lunch, before dinner break. I called right away to get it switched to something safe like Chickpea Masala… omg. It was basically boiled chickpeas thrown in some watered down sauce! The lentils were like soup with very little flavor, and even fewer lentils. Maybe the food was so horrendous because they were about to close for dinner prep, but I’d never let food leave my establishment (if that was the case)… in any case.., I’ll never make the mistake of ordering from there ever again! Poor excuse for Indian food! It was actually disgusting!! So disappointed!! Was excited at the prospect of a great “take out”/ dine in Indian restaurant close to me!!

Leevan Rajbhandari: I performed here (Open Mic). The service, food, and everything was great.

Brieana K: What a wonderful place!! The staff alone was perfect. Our server was more than happy to explain dishes and make recommendations and he was very patient when my friend and I made split second decisions to order extra things. The food was particularly delicious, and the price point was pretty solid as well. I would definitely go back, and I look forward to making this place my go to for great Indian food!!

Afton Boles: Very happy this place opened. The atmosphere is nice inside, the food was delicious, and the service was great. I had the samosas as a starter, which came out quickly and were freshly made. For entree, I ordered the lamb vindaloo. The lamb was tender and the sauce was perfect. The garlic naan was impeccable. Finished with a dessert recommended by the server as a finishing touch. Other than the wonderful food, the service alone is enough to warrant a return trip. They were so attentive and I never had to ask for anything. I’ll be back for sure.

Reece Eaton: Finest food, welcoming staff members, regularly excellent atmosphere. They charge convenient pricing and the food quality is very good. Keep up the good work.

EC Arcos: Never lets us down! Love the vegan options. Good portions too!

Rasika: what do users think?

Stuti Khandwala: The best Indian food I have ever had, do not forget to order/specially go there for the Gujarati lasagne (it literally blew my mind by how balanced and wholesome it was!). Their purple potato dosa was a family favorite. The staff was very sweet and loving and the service was fast and great.

salinaling: Great service, delicious food. Our server, Chaitanya, was personable and had good knowledge of the food. He explained flavor profiles and made recommendations to help us decide which dishes to order. He was very kind to help us celebrate our friend’s birthday. I will say the Chai tea at the end was not spicy, as i usually prefer.

Megan Lowe: Very clean restaurant and looks very pretty; nice design and ambiance. Clean restrooms. Pleasant staff who attended to our table a good amount of times. The paneer achari was good but a little grainy aftertaste. The garlic naan was too dry. The lamb was good but slightly overcooked, the chicken tikka masala was good but I have had better. And the palak chaat was delicious!

Monique Bruce: Came to have a nice dinner with a close friend, and let’s just say; things didn’t go as planned. Hey such is life. However the only reason we decided on coming back; was the manager. He handle our evening with such grace, and treated us with so much respect. Well I just have to give it another shot. He didn’t disappoint. The staff was cheerful, friendly and the food was absolutely perfect. Personally, I have no issue spending money, but I like a good experience. Lol if you have the money, and want a beautiful experience Rasika is the place for you. Thank you to the Rasika team the evening, it was memorable.

Joshua Flores: Straight up incredible Indian food with a swanky atmosphere and good service. Definitely get the crispy spinach. We got the 4 course sampler and shared it between the both of us. It was so much food I have no idea how one person can finish that off by themselves.

Wendy A: The best fine quality Indian food with excellent service. You need to make a reservation ahead of time as it is very popular.

Alan: The palak chaat was an awesome play on chaat, retaining familiar flavors of chutneys and yogurt sauce. However, the carbs are taken out for loosely fried spinach leaves and plenty of tempura flakes. It yields a much more oily satisfaction that is at the same time complemented by the sweet chutneys and broken up by their acidity. It was delicious. The tikka masala was more savory and less sweet or tomato-forward. The sauce was very hearty and perfect with rice, with the occasional chunk of near raw tomato. The chicken was generally tender and flavorful. The black bean dessert was fairly simple but very well done. A sweet porridge like soup made of black bean is paired with cardamom ice cream, which slowly melts and elevates the flavors. Some fried coconut shreds add texture.

Le Mirch: what do users think?

FFR: This place is incredible! If you’re new to Indian cuisine or have had bad experience else where you gotta come to this place! All their dishes are so good so delicious that you would never have to worry about what to to order ! My girlfriend and I love this place to death and we even want to have our wedding party here.

Ankita Gupta: Horrible! Bad service, quality of food isn’t the great, the whole experience was just terrible. Food we ordered never arrived, staff was not courteous at all. I’ve been to several restaurants but never had an experience as bad as this one. Went to celebrate one of the most important occasions and turned out to be a complete nightmare. If you are a big group beware of gratuity turns out you’ll end up paying way more then your actual bill.

Sohana Nasrin: Always been a big fan of Le Mirch. The people are super nice there and very accommodating. Huge fan of their lamb shank and biriyanis. Also love their jackfruit curry. We go there whenever we have a chance and also use their catering services. Just last night, we ordered food for a birthday party and everything turned out perfect. We ordered three kinds of biriyanis, lamb dishes, and chicken dishes- all were tasty and fresh. Also, love their mango lassi. ♥️

Justin Edwards: Lovely environment, great service, wonderful food. I highly recommend the Chile momo and Rogan Josh. If it isn’t quite hot enough to kill your tape worm, ask for a spicy caddy and they will hook you up. Such a nice spot

Michael Maddens: Wonderful friendly service with flavorful but not overpowering spice. On vacation now but would come back regularly if my hometown. Kashmiri nan was new to me but phenomenal.

Arnob Alam: I ordered catering for my birthday from Le Mirch and it was a great experience. The food was great, and packed professionally for pickup and prepped in time. I highly recommend the biryani and lamb dishes.

Rahat Pervez: Food is amazing. Best authentic food I had in DC. Servers are great . I always enjoy spending time here with great food. Such homely place . Thanks for the great service. Keep it up.

Laliguras Indian Nepali Bistro: what do users think?

Nishan: Not good food, service was great. Not authentic Nepali food though. I believe this is only better for Americans but not Nepali people for authenticity.

Achyut Shrestha: Recommend the potato cauliflower curry for lunch. Also ask for masala tea (extra dark). The staff were nice and down to earth people.

Sanket Bhattacharya: If you want to get the true momo taste, biryani taste, etc., please go to this place. Wonderful place, great food, and a truly great experience.

Sonya Williams (Wildflowers and Hooyahs): Butter Chicken was a hit! Tikka masala was decent but chicken harra masala was amazing too! Will def be back!

Lani: Overpriced. The chicken was tasty but the entree was 17 for just 5 pieces chicken and rice, 1 tomato slice and a few pieces of spinach

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Very good food, excellent service. Best in Washington DC. I recommend that everyone should eat here at least once.Lots of food options for vegetarians like us.

Sulav Bista: The waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming and the vibe was nice. Got to try Nepali Momos after a long time, and it was delicious!

Rajaji Curry House Indian Restaurant: what do users think?

Alexander Noguera: We stopped in for lunch and ordered several dishes, all were delicious! The lamb ribs, the shrimp, the shish kebab and dessert. The service was very nice and on top of everything.

Gurpreet Ghuman: This is what I call authentic Indian taste. Even if you have 3 curries on your plate, still you can taste each flavor apart. I love their lacchha parantha as it’s done RIGHT. Try their Peshawar parantha with pickle and you will taste sweet and sour at the same time as you munch the raisin. A MUST EAT when in DC.

Adi: The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The curries and sauces were so good, the garlic naan was incredible, and we loved the staff. So friendly and attentive, we will definitely be coming back.

Kevin Markman: Very fulfilling and filling. Attentive service and a variety of delectable delights.

Kerishma Panigrahi: Had an absolutely wonderful outdoor lunch at Rajaji! Restaurant employees were so kind and attentive, and the food was fantastic. I especially appreciate being able to specify desired spice level in my Indian food (I like it hot)! I will definitely be returning to this neighborhood gem.

Ryan Longo: Went on a Friday night, got a table right away and the service was extremely friendly. Ordered the Murgh Masala and Murgh Tikka Masala, both were delicious. Enough rice for both and they offered to bring out more. Rice pudding at the end was a great ending too. Highly recommend as a go to local Indian food, definitely going back!

Cheyenne Thompson: Food was delicious and service was great. The restaurant itself also had a very nice atmosphere. Date night was very enjoyable.

Samira Omarshah: If I could give 6 stars, I would! The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and the outdoor seating was lit and Covid-safe. Thank you to the staff for a lovely dining experience :) we will be back!

Masala Art Indian Restaurant: what do users think?

Geetank: One of the best Indian restaurant in DC! I go to this restaurant almost every other week. The staff is very friendly and the chef cooks authentic Indian food. You can’t got wrong with anything on the menu.

Melanie McFadden: First I want to say I’m proud of who I am. This was the worst restaurant I’ve ever been too. All the rice was extremely dry…. Nothing we had was freshly cook. It tasted like it was yesterday food. I had a party of 6, each entree was $20 to $29 and the appetizer we spent close to $90. I felt heartbroken to know how badly my party was severed day old food. At NO time our food was hot and fresh. I hope the owner see this comment and I also I want a FULL REFUND. plus we left a nice tip. Please reply to this message. Thank you very much. ,

P B: I had ordered Chana masala tonight, it had no salt and spice nobody had ate it totally tasteless, I had told them specifically I need medium spicy but it had no spice no masala, it was looking like they just boiled it put little masala gave to customer. Not recommend at all.

M planetmike: Arguably the best lamb vindaloo in DC! Excellent service on a Thursday night. I have passed by this restaurant many times and finally decided to give this a try. It is indeed a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Consistent quality at a reasonable price. Half price bottles of wine on Thursday evenings.

A C: This was our first and last time ordering food here. The lamb kabob appetizer was dry. The chicken dish was 85 percent rice and so spicy that we had to throw away both of our entree dishes. Where is the coconut and curry flavor listed on the dish’s menu? It was certainly not present in the dish we ordered? The only reason I gave it 1 star was that the meal arrived within the stated time. We’ve have lived in the area many years and have been curious about this restaurant. Now we know to avoid this one!

Tan Sav: This isn my go to spot for Indian food in the city. Less trendy than other better known Indian restaurants in the city but on par quality wise. Paneer, naan and the chicken with cashew and saffron gravy is signature combo.

Lisa Hourin: Always wonderful service and SUCH delicious food (and drinks). Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in DC.

Emily Cunniff: I love Masala Art. Their delivery is always fantastic. I love the level of spice - it’s always flavorful and not just hot for the sake of being hot. I’ve never ordered something I didn’t like. The chicken is always so tender. The price is a little higher than some other Indian places, but the food is SO comforting and I typically easily split an entree over two meals (or 3!). Quality matters and it’s just so good.

David Monash: What an amazing find! I went there on Saturday night and was impressed how clean the restaurant is and very well appointed. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced! I am definitely going back again! Great job guys!

London Curry House: what do users think?

Sivasagar Kalagara: London curry house is one of the gems for Indian restaurants in DC. The authenticity of food is well maintained. The price for the location is very reasonable. Their cocktails are really good definitely try one. The staff is very friendly.

Jazlyn Gallego: Thank you London Curry House for a wonderful date night. My boyfriend and I felt extremely well attended by Melvean. I swear, even if I didn’t like the food, I would be willing to come back just to see this sweet man. Luckily, I was also amazed by the unique Indian English fusion cuisine. I can’t wait to bring family and friends!!!

Gayatri Sanku: Truly some of the best indian food in the city. We have tried a few dishes from here now, Lamb Roganjosh and the Goan fish are my favorites. Also, the cauliflower bezule is super savory and a great addition to the meal. The most special part about london curry house is the authenticity. I was reminded instantly of curries I’d had when actually in london!

Coolcraft: Visiting dc went had a great time food has variable spice level for whatever you like. Our waiter meluedn harp was so friendly Love the food definitely recommend

Devin Dotson: Enjoyed sharing the non-veg platter and the veg platter, both very good and a great intro if you want to try several things here. Def will order the Chicken Tikka Masala next visit. Also both the samosas and mango lassi rock. The bartender created a great non-alcohol cocktail upon request and took the time to walk over and ask flavor interests and get a vibe for how my day went. Both the server and bartender were very personable and nice. A great evening, and we enjoyed this different take on our Columbia Heights favorite Bombay Street Food.

Justin Barnes: It pains me to say this, because once the food arrived it was really lovely, but hands down the worst service. A warm greeting by a young guy, presumably the manager. I am guessing the waitress arrived late, and he was forced to take our table. Anyway, it was bad. Kinda rude. If waiting tables is beneath you in some way by all means exit the industry. The funny thing is that he could have sold double the amount of food and beverage if he actually would have made eye contact with us. We had to get up and ask for everything.

Kareem Yakub: I went to London Curry House for lunch and it’s nice to know there’s a new gem in the neighborhood. Our experience was limited to food as none of us ordered drinks, but the cuisine was fantastic. We started out with tandoori wings, which were so flavorful that no sauce was required. For our entrees, we split the chicken tikka masala (of course), lamb rogan josh, fish curry, and the chicken bunah. I’ve been eating Indian food for a long time and came across some curry dishes that were unbeknownst to me. I’ll certainly be back and will tell my friends that if they want a casual, delicious, and reasonably priced place for Indian food in DC, this is it.

Abhijit Chatterji: I ordered food through Grub Hub. It was to be delivered at 7:45pm. It is now 8:26 pm and Grub Hub tells me they haven’t even assigned a driver yet and my food might arrive by 9:00pm, an hour and fifteen minutes late. I called the restaurant and my food was ready at 7:20pm. So by the time my food gets here, if it does, it would have been sitting ready for an hour and a half. NEVER ORDER THROUGH GRUB HUB and my suggestion to London Curry House would be to discontinue using them. Door Dash is far more reliable. Astounding level of poor service from Grub Hub. Deleting the app after I get my order.

Sarah Shamlal: We had read great reviews of this restaurant and decided to try it out. We were coming from Virginia and as we got closer to the location, the traffic got worse. We thought about turning around and going back home but felt determined to find the place and parking. There was obviously a festival going on around the restaurant and the entire U street for several blocks with shut down. We did finally make it, walked in the place, and it was not crowded. After a few minutes, swarms of people were outside, then running down the street and in to the restaurant seeking shelter. We were very confused and concerned. The staff seemed clueless as to what was going on outside and were fairly inattentive. We were not that well taken care of. Our food arrived but we were distracted by the outside happenings and I wouldn’t say that the food was anything special. We got kebabs, chicken tikka masala, Chanas, and samosas. The restaurant was locking the doors to keep outside fold from entering the restaurant. They unlocked the door and let us out. We left to go back to our car and then we learn on the news that there had been a shooting one block away at 14th and U Street and one person had died. I don’t know if this area of DC is always like this but we will not be going back because it was just too uncomfortable an experience.

The Bombay Club: what do users think?

Alia Aldalli: The best meal since Decmber and believe me I have been to.many restaurants since. The spicy food is so skillfully made that you taste the various spices individually as well as a whole. The decor is understated elegance and service was impeccable. Coming back soon!

Lambodar Ray: We had a visit to Washington DC and looking for an Indian restaurant for Lunch. While searching in google found this place. It was an amazing experience and served with delicious food. We ordered for Samudran Thali , it had different fish and vegetarian items. They also gave Roti along with Thali , we all enjoy, when I come next time definitely visit this place

Akash: Would recommend this place over Rashika. Great service, live music and food taste amazing. Compare to other Indian restaurant portion size are small. If looking for unique experience try their Cobra Coffee .

Hilda Kroll: An elegant setting for a great meal. My starter was the delicious Corn Paneer Kebab. The Railway Lamb Curry was lean and tender and the sauce was perfectly spiced for me. The Gulab Jamun was a refreshing ending to one of the best meals offered during Washington Restaurant Week.

Arpita Jindal: Truly authentic Indian food. Loved the ambience. A must go when in DC!

Ema Klimaitė: Great food and service. The place belongs to a restaurant group of all amazing restaurants from Indian to Israeli cuisines. Has both indoor and outdoor seating.

Onyinyechi A: wow... WOW. I had such an amazing experience. from confirming the reservation until asking the gentleman to take pictures at the end the staff was amazing. they continuously checked on us made sure that the cup of water was full of make sure that empty plates were cleared quickly gave great recommendations everything tasted amazing. all items came out quickly fresh to order. validated Your valet. give this place five out of five!!

Karma Modern Indian: what do users think?

Scott Matus: Went on a Sunday for dinner. Most of the dishes were good, if not very good (lamb and chicken). The duck was extremely overcooked, but its saffron sauce was nice and I’m sure the dish is good when cooked properly. The main issue we had was timing/service. Our appetizers came out after 40 minutes, and our mains took another 40 minutes after that to arrive. The place was not packed, and there were only 3 of us ordering a normal amount of food. Not only was this frustrating, but the staff didn’t handle it well. At one point a gentleman came over, without introducing himself, and seemed to try and make excuses about why we were having these issues, such as “well your entrees were fired at that time, so they came out at this time”. There wasn’t even an apology, he just kind of walked away after we expressed our disappointment. Eventually they did bring us complementary sparkling wine, but this also missed the mark as one in our group doesn’t drink and another still had a full glass of wine. Would have been nice if they instead simply asked how they could make it up, such as complementary dessert. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s worth it for us to ever go back.

Grishma Patel: Amazing food! Amazing ambiance / great time with friends. I am only removing 1 star because the service was extremely slow, foods took over 30 minutes to arrive at the table and that was the only downside. When the food was On our table - we enjoyed every single dish & cocktail. Would definitely go back here again despite slow service (which I’m sure is a temporary glitch) Would recommend this restaurant while in DC!

Aditi Rajvanshi: The food was really good with a lot of vegetarian options! The dishes were very flavorful and a favorite would be the pistachio kulfi. Yet, I would not recommend the turnip dish as it was lacking in flavor. I would recommend the drinks though as they were unique and yum!

Samantha Elliott: We had an amazing experience on Valentine’s Day our server was amazing and we loved the atmosphere and food. They made our special night even more special. Thank you guys! It was a preset menu which is our favorite style. Chef had our taste buds singing.

Dee Bee: The food, the service to the decor and vibe screamed "Michelin Star". This was our second time there. Today, we ordered the Pre-Fix lunch special in which we were served a three course meal-- appetizer, main course, and dessert. The Chicken Tikka was incredibly juicy and succulent, and the spicy green dipping sauce gave it the spicy kick it needed to push it over the top from simply great to FANTASTIC. This was only our first course... We then ordered the Butter Chicken and the Palak Paneer for our main course. We supplemented our main meal with a side of Chickpeas, a warm Whole Wheat Roti and a buttery crisp Laatha Paratha. Every item served in our second course was perfect, and the combined portions served was food that the two of us could finish in one sitting. To close out our visit, we ordered caramond ice cream and a Carrot Hafka for dessert, our final course, which was small but satisfying. Overall, I give Karma a perfect score. If I could give it a sixth star 🌟 I would. I recommend this restaurant for any and all occasions. The food and service is consistently tasty.

Zohaib Ghatala: Went here during winter restaurant week. We liked most of the dishes we tried here. Lentil soup was good. Their paneer pesto was our favorite for starters. Their heirloom paneer was great as well. Nariyali chicken prawn and kashmiri chicken gustaba were okay. Loved their rasmalai. It was different. Pretty good service.

preetham 7: This place had a pleasant ambiance and the servers were kind and helpful. The appetizers were amazing and as well the main course. But the desserts were the worst.

Indique: what do users think?

Edward Hoegg: One of my favorite Indian food places in the district. Food is full of flavor and for a great price. Staff are always kind and go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. I wish they would bring their brunch back.

Elizabeth Sutton: Delucios! Nice outside seating and in enjoyable meal in DC. Reasonable pricing quick service. Definitely will be back on my next visit to our Capitol.🇺🇸🙂

Dave Keuler: It had been years since I’ve been here. The food was fantastic! The samosa chaat was delicious, as was the shrimp and lobster bisque. The soup could have benefited from lumps of crab and more shrimp but the flavors were excellent. The fish (cod) curry was cooked to perfection, and the garlic naan was thin and wonderfully made. 9/10 overall.

Jerry Anderson: Our first try at Indique was one takeout dish was Saag Makai. When we tasted it at home we thought, these people know how to cook. We came back a couple days later when we weren’t very hungry but needed to eat. We ordered the Seasonal soup, pea-based, and the lobster and shrimp bisque. They were delicious. As was the chicken keesh, a tandoori appetizer special that day. We sat outside on a beautiful night. Since the restaurant is just above the metro, we enjoyed the Cleveland Park neighborhood. Besides the good food, though, the staff was pleasant, helpful and enjoyable to be around. We enjoyed it all so much that we ended up taking home another meal for the day after! We highly recommend Indique.

Karuna: Outdoor seating at Indique on a summer night enjoying a glass of cabernet sauvignon with lamb chops watching people walking by with two of my dearest friends. It was a beautiful way to enjoy my last evening. Most menu items are priced under $20 and offer delicious value. I highly recommend you visit Indique...Indique offers unique flavors and exceptional values!

Johnson Legal PLLC: Great food, authentic! Clean, courteous staff, this is my favorite Indian restaurant in the DC Area. Having been to India several times and London on many occasions (where in my opinion the best Indian cuisine can be found), Indique is top notched!

Rupi Tiwana: Below average taste, all the curries have no distinguished flavor from any other indian restaurant on the east coast. Everything tastes no different than the jared curries found at your grocery store.

Butter Chicken Company: what do users think?

Jessica Martin: Great place for a pickup or a sit down, cool vibe to the place and kind workers. Small menu but that means they do what they do well. Had the Tikka masala and it was rich and flavorful but fresh and tender with a slight spicy kick. Huge servings too. Asked them to trade out the naan for rice (gluten free allergy) and they left out the saag paneer so it might have gluten in it? In any case I’m excited to try their butter chicken next!

Sadhana G: One day, we checked off our DC local things to do by visiting the Butter chicken company which is open only on hours between 12-3pm everyday and closed on weekends. They had a very limited menu with more meat options and a few vegetarian options. We got the famous butter chicken meal and a chicken tikka meal which came along with rice and two sides of saag panneer and veg biriyani. We also got a sampler of chole. Overall, the food was good but we learnt that the odd timing of the restaurant which limits to only 300 orders per day was primarily intended to target the IT crowd which lived in the area. But for the decent pricing of 14$ in a beautiful microwaveable container and a big proper portion of the meal were the highlights of this place.

Gabby V: (2021) I’m not sure what happened recently but I went to Butter Chicken last week and was completely disappointed. The chicken itself is a lower grade and the recipe!!! has been changed for the worse. I asked the staff and they confirmed the recipe did change. Before the butter chicken they offered were chicken thighs and the sauce was decadent. Now the new recipe offers skimpy pieces of chicken breast and the sauce is a watery mess. The owner has opened more locations - maybe this is affecting the good but hopefully it gets back to normal. (2019) This place just opened and the hype is real. The lines are forming out the door and he’s not kidding, 300 plates & then he’s closed. The butter chicken is full of so much flavor, SPICE, and goodness. Not for the faint of heart! It’s a limited menu but that’s part of allure. The atmosphere feels authentic with the food being cooked in huge pots. If you get the chance go!!

Derek Reinhard: Does not disappoint. But get there early! Choose 1 of 2 choices for entree and pick-2-of-3 sides. Healthy level but not too much spicing. Limited seating but they specialize in to-go (their dishes and utensils are 100% recyclable). Downside is the busier they are the slower the line. Worth.the.wait.

Vy H.: This place is the bomb. Great place to grab lunch, and they are always busy (pre-COVID) but the line goes by quick. And most importantly, they close once they sell 300 portions, so come early! I recommend their signature dish, the Butter Chicken—it is very flavorful with a spicy kick, and the chicken chunks meats are huge. The spinach and chickpea sides are so good, especially dipped with the naan they give you, complimentary. The portion is huge here so come hungry or prepare to bring back home/office with you!

Mallory Meaney: Went on the second day - they are still working out a few kinks but the food is amazing! Warning to those who can’t take the heat - all the food is pretty spicy! Loved the garlic naan and the butter chicken. They make enough for 300 meals, when they run out they close. We went around 1pm and called ahead to make sure they were still open. They said they had about 50 meals left at that point. They could improve by offering free cups of water - I had to buy a bottle of water - and instituting a better ordering system. I will be back!

Lou Fegans: Incredible butter chicken! It tastes so fresh and the chicken is so tender. The staff are friendly and quick to offer service. The seating is cute and cozy, plus they offer carryout.

Flavors of India: what do users think?

Luthra Hospitals: Not being run by Indians!!!! FELT SORRY TO SEE THEM SPOILING THE EXOTIC FLAVOURS OF INDIAN CUISINE!!! Please change the name to Flavours of Asia to save the lovely flavours of Indian Food loved by Clintons and Obamas 🙂

Geo Gritsunov: Might not be the cleanest and comfy places, but the food is amazing, the prices are reasonable. My wife and I ordered one appetizer, naan and chicken curry and came out full. They have some good Indian beer too. Service is modest, the servers get the job done.

Jyoti Biswas: I went there seeing the good ratings on google map. But the experience was not what I expected. The places is dark, and dirty. And chicken seems cooked long ago, and doesn’t taste good at all. Nun was way over cooked. Daal soup was not properly cooked.

Naredla Vineeth Reddy: We dined here by seeing 5 star ratings but not worth it. Basically Indian people love biryani but didn’t not expect that kind of biryani it is just flavored rice with the chicken separately cooked. The chicken was not good in biryani. Every dish served in cold. Overall I give 0 rating for biryani

KAS: Food was delicious!! We were starving and the food came out quickly and was full of flavor. There was no one meeting patrons at the door that was the only drawback.

Ernst Georges: This is an amazing authentic Indian who serve each customer diligently... The staff is awesome an the food is delighting I eat some Brandi masala my frieds had some chicken and shrimp.. We share some wine and some Taj Mahal beers... We enjoy our time at this place ... We really recommend this to everyone...

Arti Luthra: Won’t recommend… this is not true flavour of India…!!!!!! Not being run by Indians..sorry to see cheats spoiling the Flavours of EXOTIC INDIAN CUISINE …
