Lacia Sommars: Fantastic salon! I booked only two days out or so and it was so easy booking online and i received confirms on text and email but it wasn’t over bearing. I booked with pascal and she was SO lovely and did an amazing job! I’m new to the area and very happy I’ve found myself a go to stylist with my first attempt (we all know it’s scary out there). Kate Couturier: I got great lengths hair extensions at INARI. I absolutely LOVE the extensions and had the best experience with Santos. I have extremely thin hair and had some not great experiences with tape-ins previously, so I was a bit nervous, but really wanted longer, thicker hair for my wedding. Santos was very knowledgeable and helpful in making the right choices for my hair type and really took his time putting them in to make sure they were perfect. He went above and beyond to get the most length and fullness possible. I couldn’t believe how perfect the color matched my hair, how long we were able to go, and how natural they look! I have never loved my hair so much, and it was exactly what I wanted for my wedding, which never would have been possible without the extensions! They have also lasted a very long time. Shaila Huq: Eva is a master of her craft and a really bubbly, fun personality. I’ve been feeling really self conscious as my short hair grew out, and as soon as I saw the color match in my consultation, I knew I was going to enjoy the end results. It is a luxury experience, so know going into your consultation that you’re paying an appropriate price for a quality product and expert service. These extensions are the Great Lengths type, so minimal damage and a 5-6 month wear time with proper care. After 48 of keeping it dry, you can treat it and style it like it’s your own hair! The one note as someone who’s never had any type of extensions in is that it’s weird to get used to feeling the bond areas while sleeping, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it ☺️ Services: Hair extensions , Hairstyling

The staff at INARI are kind, caring, and attentive. Mai gave me the best facial and I am still glowing weeks after my treatment. My skin felt soft, smooth, and firmer after the facial. Josi Giovinazzo: Emily was my stylist and did an amazing job. I wanted to add more volume and length to my fine hair. My hair tends to break so I just cut it and haven’t had length in a long time. She used an ultrasonic machine to bond the keratin bonds in the gentlest way as it doesn’t provide so much heat. I’m a runner and in dental school so I put my hair up a lot, so she strategically placed the extensions to not show in a pony tail! On top of the excellent care, the extensions they get are ethically sourced from Great Lengths. The proceeds go to the local Indian group that provides the hair and they donate to local charities. 배앤: At first I thought my back hair wasnt highlighted. Didnt know if it was a full highlight. Turns out it was bleached so it showed more yellow than purple. The color is still beautiful i think so wanted a Iil more colored parts. I went back today and I was so glad I was able to talk to Kate honestly about some of the things I was thinking and wanted. She was treating my hair with care and delicacy so that my hair doesnt break which I appreciated in the end. She able make things with the color so much better. And the haircut I received was really great. And I felt bery welcomed and cared for. Thank you for fixing the color and letting me really open up about what I thought and wanted for my hair. Will go back for treatment next month. :)

Janette G: If you are looking for a priceless hair cut, look no further! I came to Guven with a bad hair cut from another hair stylist. After doing my research and reading every single review at Guven Salon & Spa, I decided to give it a try. Not only was he able to fix my bad hair cut but also gave me the hair cut I wanted in the first place. Guven asked all the right questions and listened carefully to how I wanted my hair to look. Make sure you book in advance his availability is a couple of weeks. I am so happy I went to him and will be coming back! If you want the perfect hair cut go see him. Highly recommend. Michael Lin: I came to Guven and his team with an impossible task!!! My 18 year old daughter did something crazy while on her vacation. She went to a hair stylist who literally turned her hair orange. See attached before photo. She was freaking out because her college moving date was fast approaching and she couldn’t bare the thought of being “the crown” on her first day of college. Before Guven, she went to another hair stylist who didn’t really do any thing to remediate the “problem”. I decided to spend a father-daughter day by taking her to see Guven. Guven was super busy and yet after learning the urgent timeline of her impending departure to college, he fit us into his busy schedule. Guven and Hasan took a look at my daughter’s hair, studied a bit and then explained to my daughter what they could do to salvage what was done already. Guven and the team began to transform my daughter’s hair patiently. As a dad, I had never sit around watching my daughter getting her hair done. That was her mom’s job. But this time, I decided to take her as a way to spend more time with her before she leaves for college. After a couple of hours of intense work, which included cutting, trimming, coloring, etc., my daughter had literally turned from a high school girl to a beautiful young and confident woman, all in the spin of an afternoon. Even as the most critic of herself, my daughter couldn’t believe how pretty her hair looks. See the after photo. I must say, given the pandemic that ravaged the mental health of the teenagers, a father-daughter day at Guven’s made all the differences in the world. What Guven and Hasan did was nothing short of miracle!!! Thank you for giving us a memorable moment that I can talk to my daughter for years to come.

The online scheduling tool is so helpful to let you look at a range of dates and see what might work best for your schedule. So much better than a stressful call trying to listen to options and compare it to your schedule. My new hair cut was a massive transformation. We took off 12 inches of length (making hair donation to a kids wig non-profit) up from the middle of my back to now just barely grazing my shoulders. Melinda Overbaugh: Much like dating, it is an arduous task trying to find a new stylist in a different city. I moved to DC a little over 2 1/2 years ago and have gone to three different salons in the chair of 4 different stylists, but I found the one at this salon. I had made an appointment in July for a single process color and a haircut for mid-August. Toby had reached out the day of to let me know that Colin was feeling under the weather and was unable to see me at the scheduled time. He graciously rescheduled the same day with Mickey at a later time that evening. I have nothing but good things to say about Mickey- he’s talented, friendly, and explains along the way what the process for your service will be. Not only that, but he is a very fair business owner. I initially came through the door looking for a single color process for my very, very dark colored hair because I found maybe less than 10 gray hairs (we all have our issues, and aging is a hard pill for me to swallow!). Mickey straight up told me that I didn’t need anything that aggressive in the most kind way, and suggested a different, more ideal approach. He understood my needs even though I may not have properly articulated. My search for a salon is over, and this DC establishment (don’t let Mickey try to tell you it isn’t!)is the one.

Teresa Plotkin: I have had my hair cut at Nantucket for almost 30 years and, clearly, think that it is the best salon in Washington, DC. With respect to getting color and/or a cut in the age of Covid, Nantucket takes every precaution to make sure that clients and staff are protected and safe. During my visit in early June, masks were required, I had my temperature taken, and was given a plastic poncho to wear (versus a cloth robe). At the salon, there is extreme social distancing in place. This is achieved by spacing out appointments. The number of staff has been reduced as well. They have only two clients on each side of the salon at a time (photo attached), and the staff wear masks and either goggles or a face shield. Surfaces are sanitized regularly. With all of the safety measures in place, I did not feel scared or worried while I was in the salon. Having my hair colored and cut was fabulous. I take the virus seriously and have been diligent about staying at home, wearing a mask, and social distancing. I felt very comfortable going to Nantucket and would recommend the salon to others as a safe haven during this difficult time.
Karen Chevalier: I’ve been going to Paul, the owner, every 6 weeks for about 15 years. He is great! I always get lots of compliments on my color and cut. Nantucket is a wonderful salon with a warm and welcoming staff. I love that the employees have all been there for years. It’s a real testament to his management. I feel totally confident in their COVID procedures. Everyone there is taking great care to assure the safety of the customers and staff.
Sally Sullivan: If you are looking for a great style and/or great color, Nantucket is the best salon for both. A great team - - the stylists, the assistants, the reception and scheduling manager - - a great experience consistently with all of them. They are genuine professionals who care about their clients and the quality of their work. Most impressive is the number of top-notch stylists who stay at Nantucket...not like other salons where there is constant staff churn...a testament to the owner, Paul, who is also a fabulous stylist and colorist.
Susan Cohen: Paul is a stylist par excellence. But more than that, at this surreal time, he has gone to great lengths also to ensure all of Nantucket’s clients and his whole team remain safe. Temp checks, disposable gowns, masks at all times on everyone, limited capacity, distancing, sanitized stations. My husband and I, who have been hunkered down at our beach house since the pandemic hit, drive 100+ miles just so we could feel comfortable getting our hair cut. And we did. On top of the great styling too! Thanks to Paul and Marco and Blanca and the whole team for being there to take care of us!
Beth Barnickel: I went to have my hair colored and cut on Saturday. I felt very safe with the location of the salon. It was very obvious Paul, the owner, really thought through safety from the Covid virus for his clients. I was greeted at the door by Marco and was taken back to have temp check, antibacterial spray and a plastic disposal cape that covered me. There was social distancing and cleaning of all areas throughout all steps of of my visit. Everyone wore masks to protect the clients. When I left, the cape was removed and immediately thrown away. I felt very safe that all precautions were taken throughout the process. It felt so good to get out for a haircut and have such a great experience. I have been going here for 18 years and would not go anywhere else. It is well worth the drive. The whole staff always makes you feel pampered. Thanks to everyone at Nantucket.

Beth Dahl: I’ve been a client of Guillaume’s for over 10 years. He’s a master of color and highlights and have always been thrilled with my hair and the welcoming O Salon environment. My visit there today just reaffirms the Salon’s focus on customer care, health and service. In light of Coronavirus, they have gone well above and beyond any recommended protocols. I was messaged to check in, my temperature was taken, and given sanitizer. All while masked. Chairs are distanced and plexiglass walls separate any necessary space. Staff are also making sure to clean after each client. All of that said, my appointment felt warm and welcoming as always. And my hair, of course is beautiful.

Neneki Lee: I just moved to the area from Los Angeles and I have never had a salon experience that was this amazing. That’s saying something because LA is all about high end luxury. The difference is, Ny caters to the curly girls. Three things stood out: 1) Safety - even in the middle of a COVID surge I didn’t worry if I would be exposed because of all of the extra precautions they took (showing proof of vaccination, temperature check, constantly sanitizing everything and providing all clients with N95s); 2) The Experience- from the moment you walk in you are treated with total professionalism. And no matter what you want, they have it. They even feed you! And that’s on top of excellent hair care (see #3), hand massage, shoulder & neck massage, sensory therapy, and more! 3) After all of that, I figured the hair would probably be mediocre since something had to come in below my expectations. Right? Nope, I was wrong. My hair looks amazing! My color is shiny and rich, my cut is one of the best I’ve ever had, and my curls are popping. Everything was better than what I hoped for. Dahlia Garden: Excellent haircut and blow dry service. The shop is organized, clean and the staff is pleasant. Prices are much lower compared to what nearby hair salons on the same block are charging and in relative to the outrageous property rentals in this highly sought after neighborhood. You can’t complain. Highly recommended.

She is kind, enjoyable to talk to, and she always does an excellent job. She does highlights that look natural and trims with amazing, photo-ready layering. Celia is the type of stylist who I feel comfortable asking, “what do you recommend I do with my hair?” Every time I go I am beyond pleased with her work, and I trust her advice and judgment on both styling and products. She also does a great blowout every time I go, and I find myself not wanting to workout or shower and ruin it! I also have come recently and found that she and her staff were very responsible in light of covid-19. All staff and clients were masked and far apart, and Only 2 clients were present at once, and placed on opposite sides of the room. I felt completely safe! I would unconditionally recommend this salon, especially during this pandemic.
Shelby Ellingson: Princess was my hairdresser and she was so lovely. I enjoyed chatting with her as she tackled the huge project I presented her with. I have super thick hair and decided to go super short and super blonde and she achieved greatness! It took a long time for everything that I wanted, but she had so much patience and wouldn’t stop until I was satisfied. Celia was also great and stepped in here and there as well. They both are hard working ladies and they made sure to keep the salon clean and safe during these times. I’ll be back for more soon! :)

However, the owner is extremely skillful when it comes to bob hairstyle and alike. I continued to go, and TBH, I tried another salon once at U and 15th street once, but I immediately regretted (I got a haircut that I was not satisfied with for more more than twice the price). So I went back to Columbia hair salon and have gone ever since. I recommend this place with eyes closed, the owner is a warm, sweet, skillful lady who gives back to the community a lot. The place is clean, well furnished and beautiful. The staff is friendly and willing to make customers always feel satisfied with their image.
