Anna Moreland: AJay (Ashley) did my bridal hairstyles for my wedding and absolutely knocked it out of the park! She did some extra research on an unusual hairpiece I wore and how to secure it, and even helped me navigate through an outfit change with hairstyle switch during the wedding day--she really went above and beyond. She patiently did 2 trials with me in preparation so I could be confident we could pull it all off on the big day. Sophie Bennett: Having curly hair, I’m always nervous to try a new hair stylist. But Elena made her expertise clear from the get go, and made me feel comfortable by taking the time to listen to my thoughts and being transparent with her plan of action throughout the cut. Cindy Zhang: Hands up the best curly haircut experience I’ve ever had. I’ve previous been to ones with deva cut, literally felt like the hairdresser just trimmed my end and nothing else happened. Elena is so skillful and created this beautiful layers of curl for my hair, so that it’s not a triangle anymore haha. She also showed me all the tricks to tame my frizz. She was fantastic, giving much-needed instruction and information on what she was doing and how to maintain/ groom curly hair. After seeing my hair, she asked if she could “fix” my hair because of how damaged and lifeless my curls had become. Neneki Lee: I just moved to the area from Los Angeles and I have never had a salon experience that was this amazing. That’s saying something because LA is all about high end luxury. The difference is, Ny caters to the curly girls. Three things stood out: 1) Safety - even in the middle of a COVID surge I didn’t worry if I would be exposed because of all of the extra precautions they took (showing proof of vaccination, temperature check, constantly sanitizing everything and providing all clients with N95s); 2) The Experience- from the moment you walk in you are treated with total professionalism. And no matter what you want, they have it. They even feed you! And that’s on top of excellent hair care (see #3), hand massage, shoulder & neck massage, sensory therapy, and more! 3) After all of that, I figured the hair would probably be mediocre since something had to come in below my expectations. Right? Nope, I was wrong. My hair looks amazing! My color is shiny and rich, my cut is one of the best I’ve ever had, and my curls are popping. Everything was better than what I hoped for. The shop is conveniently located in the Capital Hill area, short walking distance from the Metro. The stylists are very professional and are really concerned about the health of your hair. They are true hair consultants, willing to help clients with the most challenging hair issues. The shop alludes spa like comfort and they provide really short wait times. Nadia Amin: I had a great experience at this salon! When scheduling my appointment, Amy took great care to ask me questions that would match me with the right hairstylist. They started on right away when I arrived, and I was in and out of there in an hour. It is now 5 days later and my hair is still bouncy and has not frizzed. No hairstyle has ever held this long! I highly recommend this salon, especially if you have natural curly hair.
Jessica Long: Went there for the first time today. I got a Dry remedy moisture treatment as well as a trim, which was long overdue! Suzana did my wash, set me up for the hydration/moisturizer treatment, and blew dry my hair. She was very gentle and communicative throughout the process. Asmi did my cut, which was perfect—taking care of all the split ends. My appointment was at 8 am. I got into the shop a couple minutes before 8 and was in the chair being taken care of by 8 am. They worked together to keep me moving through the process and I was out of there in an hour and 15 minutes or so. They were very efficient and on top of the flow. The shop was bright and well designed. The bathroom was also nice and well maintained. They had a rack for coat hanging. The payment process was super easy and you are able to tip your hairdresser and the supportive staff separately and directly via Venmo or CashApp. There is on street parking with a 2 hour limit. It can be hard to find parking in that area sometimes, but I found parking quick and easy. They open at 7 am, which is good for people who need to get going with the rest of their day. They require masks and take temperatures on the way into the salon. I like this since COVID is still affecting folk. Overall, great experience! I can’t wait to go back for my next treatment and I think I’ll get the twists next time!

Monée: I started coming to this salon in August 2020. I stumbled upon them searching online for a salon that does good natural hair. When reading the reviews Galya was nicely spoken of and there was a picture of her work. I made an appointment and 8 months later I have been regularly seeing her! I no longer have my picture :( of when she first touched my hair ... but leading up to today I can assure you Galya is a sweet person and has been a God send. My hair was initially damaged and stopped at the top of my shoulders. In the lower back near my neck a portion of that hair was shorter than the rest. It would shed endlessly and was very brittle. To date, my hair has gradually come back to life. The length is several inches longer, minimal shedding, not brittle and no area is struggling to keep up with the other. The products used on my hair are a contributing factor in my happiness however, Galya has been nothing but consistent with her routine/technique and never fails to deliver the best service from washing to styling! Not to mention, each time I come to this salon it is impeccably clean, welcoming, organized, professional and makes you feel safe. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. I like perfect but NOTHING that’s real is perfect. That said, I’m praying I can continue to enjoy and appreciate my regular visits here however, if I make a mistake on my job and want forgiveness then I am willing to understand within reason if this salon makes a mistake- as long as it’s not blatant or frequent. I highly recommend this place because even though your hair is the main goal, it’s not often you can find a spot with numerous benefits in one!

The online scheduling tool is so helpful to let you look at a range of dates and see what might work best for your schedule. So much better than a stressful call trying to listen to options and compare it to your schedule. My new hair cut was a massive transformation. We took off 12 inches of length (making hair donation to a kids wig non-profit) up from the middle of my back to now just barely grazing my shoulders. Melinda Overbaugh: Much like dating, it is an arduous task trying to find a new stylist in a different city. I moved to DC a little over 2 1/2 years ago and have gone to three different salons in the chair of 4 different stylists, but I found the one at this salon. I had made an appointment in July for a single process color and a haircut for mid-August. Toby had reached out the day of to let me know that Colin was feeling under the weather and was unable to see me at the scheduled time. He graciously rescheduled the same day with Mickey at a later time that evening. I have nothing but good things to say about Mickey- he’s talented, friendly, and explains along the way what the process for your service will be. Not only that, but he is a very fair business owner. I initially came through the door looking for a single color process for my very, very dark colored hair because I found maybe less than 10 gray hairs (we all have our issues, and aging is a hard pill for me to swallow!). Mickey straight up told me that I didn’t need anything that aggressive in the most kind way, and suggested a different, more ideal approach. He understood my needs even though I may not have properly articulated. My search for a salon is over, and this DC establishment (don’t let Mickey try to tell you it isn’t!)is the one.

Ana Paula Pellegrino: After moving back to the city, I was looking for a new place to cut my hair and after test driving them with a bang cut, decided to both get a hair trim and coloring with Geneva! She was amazing - not only are the results awesome, but she was patient sharing explanations and building a relationship to understand what I wanted. However, this new straightener was the best money I have spent on my hair in a very long time! The frizz is completely gone however, the volume remains! Henrietta: Everyone at this business is thoughtful, kind and gives great consideration to who you are as a person. They are prompt and courteous with their care and you don’t feel rushed as if you’re just another means to an end. I really enjoy coming here and will recommend this salon to anyone who cares about quality service and their hair health. I came in with a considerable amount of color damage and hair breakage. I worked with Rasha and had a great experience. She was very knowledgeable about my hair health and what measures I should take to manage the color damage. She reassured me that I will eventually be able to re-color it later on the future, given proper maintenance and an expert technique with the next color. I really appreciated her thoughtful consideration and the extra time she took to address my concerns. I will definitely be coming back!

Everyone here is super friendly and amazing at what they do. The salon was very clean, and Covid safe! Immediately upon arrival my hands were sanitized, my temperature was checked, and my phone was sterilized. Everyone here wore a mask the entire time and stations were sanitized and cleaned after each client. I felt very comfortable here. Erin completed my wash and it was the best wash ever! She was very friendly and detailed in making sure she got every inch of my hair and explaining my wash process. Miya completed my pre style maintenance and was awesome! She was very friendly and made sure my hair laid right! I truly appreciate the extra time she took to make sure my hair looked good. Sadiyqah completed my style and was amazing! Shereé Cleckley: Have been here a few times now and I have never left disappointed. I have natural hair that I wear in its natural state 95% of the time. Preserving my curl pattern is important to me, so when I was getting my hair straightened, I was happy to see the techniques and products they were using on my hair. They did not blow dry or straighten my hair on the highest setting and it still came out flawlessly. Vonetta and her team are very good at what they do.

Dahlia Garden: Excellent haircut and blow dry service. The shop is organized, clean and the staff is pleasant. Prices are much lower compared to what nearby hair salons on the same block are charging and in relative to the outrageous property rentals in this highly sought after neighborhood. You can’t complain. Highly recommended.

I saw Franck for my haircut and I really didn’t know what I wanted when I came in I just knew what I didn’t like about my hair now. Debbie Yen: Highly recommend Saint Germain. I go to Franck for cuts and Drew for color. I first came to Franck to fix a bad haircut from another salon. He really understands how to cut Asian hair (I have fine hair but a lot of it), and I can go longer between haircuts. Drew recently colored my hair for the first time with a beautiful blended brunette balayage; it is so natural and really looks like you’ve been “playing in the sun” as he says. They both spend time with you to figure out what exactly you are looking for. I get a lot of compliments on my hair! The salon itself is beautiful and it is a treat to spend time there.

Drew was so meticulous when fixing the line between my new hair growth and the bleach that was already in my hair. Drew spent so long patiently correcting the color in my hair, and I’m so happy with the result! Teri also did an incredible job giving my hair a trim to shape and layer it and gave me some face framing pieces, and she styled it beautifully at the end! Kelle: Visited Salon Saint Germain for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed! Was warmly greeted by the smiling trio of Lesley, McKinley and Kloe, and was brought in and prepped for my appointment (jacket taken and hung, smock cape, etc.). Both Lesley and McKinley took the time to consult and listen to my hair care concerns - which was huge to me! Lesley was my stylist and did a perfect color job and was incredibly friendly and made me feel welcomed as a new guest. After my color was ready, she introduced me to Necip who did the wash and gave an incredibly relaxing scalp massage, followed by beautifully blowing out my hair. I cannot convey enough how my visit from start to finish was beyond wonderful. The stylists taking care of me were amazing, as were the other people working that day as well. Aesthetically, the salon is gorgeous and has state of the art stations and products. I will absolutely be returning and will officially go from guest to client!
