LaTondra Kinley, Realtor with Coldwell Banker: I run an Airbnb in DC. The last guests stayed for four months. After their departure, we notice some unwanted pests during the clean up. I had a short window before my next guests arrival for a 34 day stay. I call this company, James answered and told me they could come out on Friday. My guests are expected on Sunday. James gave me a window of 9-11 am. When they didn't show. My daughter called and she was told that the exterminator would call and give her an arrival After two additional hours, there was no call and no show from anyone in the company. I left two messages and still didn't even receive a note or call of an apology. I have to now cancel my reservation, losing significant revenue because this company. Nest Pest may be good for residential folks who have time for them to show up when they want but their business-to-business B2B response time and follow-up is poor at best. I will not call them again.

nancy dcreviews: I called this service at about 630 pm after a rodent had made its way into my basement by chewing through some foam sealant. I called and reached James and I told him to please send someone asap. Within 20 minutes, his team was THERE. I called other companies and spoke to switchboard operators who were going to get back to me or I left messages on voicemail systems. No one ever called back at that time of day. This company will answer your call, day or night. They CARE! Luiz and Paulo were the crew who came out and they were sooooo prompt, friendly, quick to access the situation, efficient and effective and just general lifesavers! Nest Pest prices are really reasonable too. I suspect this company will overtake all their competitors one day. Just watch. They are AWESOME. It was like calling a family member for help. I will never use any other company. Seriously, don't waste your time looking anywhere else. They are the answer to your immediate pest control needs. Service: General wildlife removal

Eli Greenspan: Overall, I regret paying for their services. The bait cups they use do not work at attracting mice and they were placed all throughout the house. We’ve slowly been removing them in places where we aren’t seeing mice. The other issue is that the service team member on 2 occasions would show up and not have enough time to address issues he/we identified. And the last time they were supposed to come out, last Friday, they asked to reschedule to Saturday and then never showed up or called. We even requested those rat poison boxes for outside our house. I’ve called and it takes time to get someone on the phone, but it can be done and they will often try and schedule you. I’m just done trying to get my moneys worth from the service we paid for. We ended up going to Home Depot ourselves and buying traps, foam insulation, and poison. Service: Rodent extermination

Connor: Called, easily got someone to help me set up a 9am-12pm arrival window for the following day for a mouse problem. The day comes, I called the office twice around 11:30am for an update, and left a voicemail - no response or update at all. After 3pm (when our office/warehouse was closed, hence why we needed the morning) I got a call saying they are on the way. I told them it was fine as I had already found and paid another company. Don't use this company - they may not even show up.

Chris Watkins: I had birds building a nest in a dryer vent that was about 10ft off the ground and was pretty sure I was beginning to hear birds in the walls.I had an amazing experience with Nest Pest Control. They answered right away, had availability within 3 hours of my call, and when the technician came he was courteous, educational, and his work was clean. I’d 100% recommend them to anyone and luckily I only needed them once and the issue won’t happen again.

Roland came out and provided repellent and bait treatments with exceptional service, accommodating our shoes-off household with booties and explaining what he was doing and why. It was all very painless and while it's too early to know the results, I highly recommend GPS for the service experience. The price is also very competitive (way cheaper than Orkin!). John Deaderick: DO NOT USE GREEN PEST! Hands down the worst customer service of any business I have used in Washington DC. I don't mean worst exterminator, I mean worst overall business in all of Washington DC! GREEN PEST has no problem signing a contract or billing you, just don't ever expect them to show up to to do the job that they have agreed to. EVER. Here is how they have failed 100% at the only job they have to do: 1st FAILURE: Their website has a huge lie right on top that states that they offer 24 hour customer service. They only offer customer service for 9 out of 24 hours a day. They don't even answer the phone after 5PM. 2nd FAILURE: They have NEVER returned a single message that I have left for their customer service department. NOT ONE TIME! 3rd FAILURE: When I left a previous review for them stating that I was disappointed because NO ONE from their customer service has ever returned my call, someone from their marketing department called AND emailed asking if I could leave a better review, ALL WHILE FAILING TO ACTUALLY DO THE ONLY JOB THEY WERE HIRED TO DO. 4th FAILURE: I called them today begging for them to come out and they lied to me and said that someone would be out within the hour. LIES, LIES, LIES. If you like being lied to, stolen from, and ignored, then this awful business is the place for you. Service: General pest inspection

Shae Li: Professional and timely service from Elite Ops. Our technician was on time, wore a mask and gloves on entry, was friendly and answered all my questions. The technician was able to point out some problem spots, offer suggestions and gave us the knowledge to handle the situation independently next time. While I feel like the cost was a bit high for the services ultimately rendered (just setting traps/poison), it would have been worth it if we had an actual infestation (which we didn't know prior to booking). Shortly after doing so, one evening I returned home, pulled into the garage, closed it, and heard scratching and squealing. Freaked out, I did not investigate further and just hightailed it into the house. My fiancé arrived shortly after I did and said that he saw a mouse or rat hanging from its tail outside of the garage door trying to get free. This. Scared. Me. And I refused to go back into the garage until someone checked it out. After calling for service, within two days, to the rescue came Elite Ops, who were early for the appointment, checked out the garage and the perimeter of the house on a complimentary basis. They provided their recommendations, did not try to up sell or push unnecessary products or services, and most importantly made me feel comfortable about going back into the garage. Quinn Hatoff: DJ and Sidney literally saved our 75+ unit condominium building from a rodent infestation that started to spread uncontrolled throughout the public lobby areas and trash room. Previous Boards managing the building tried a number of contractors to solve this complex infestation, but ultimately EliteOps was the only company in DC up for the task. Whereas other companies would skip site visits or "forget" to arm traps, EliteOps was punctual and extremely aggressive in their capture plans. DJ and team built a clear plan of attack, made adjustments as needed, and provided daily status reports to the building as they worked to solve the problem. Every time they visit the building, the EliteOps team is dressed professionally and is eager to answer questions in a way that reassured us that there was an end in sight. As a result of their hard work, we have had zero rodents in weeks and we have moved into a sustainment/preventative phase. We will be using EliteOps for years to come as our go-to exterminator and absolutely recommend them to any homeowner or commercial property owner with a complex job. Service: Rodent extermination

Dylan: I have used American Pest and Orkin and Capitol Pest is by far the better company. I assume they are better than many of the others out there that I did not use. They truly take care of you right from the moment you contact them. You feel like they truly care and listen to your issue. If you’ve been fighting unwanted guests for a long time with no progress, just feeling listened to goes a long way. Their initial evaluation over the phone was reassuring and helpful, they got someone out here within the following two days and when they did come out the tech spent almost 2 hours with me in my small home explaining his process and educating me (something that the other companies never did). Most of all he was polite and friendly and made me feel comfortable. The report I got was very helpful as well as it talks about the things you need to change in your home to prevent the critters from taking over your home like cleaning your oven or stopping water leaks and so on. Unfortunately I had to stop the service simply because I’m moving but I can tell you if they ever serviced my new area I would use them hands down. Donna Jackson: My experience from start to finish has been exceptional. We bought an older house that is our dream-forever home. Needless to say, we got a surprise when we got an unexpected mice problem. I called the call center and the operator was so courteous and knowledgeable and reassured me that this was an issue they could solve. He walked me through the process and sent Steve, the inspector and Edguard, the technician, quickly. Both were very professional, explained what we was seeing and gave us measures to assist us. They were thorough, knowledgeable and very personable. I can tell you that me and my husband were in a panic but they were so detailed and thorough in their inspections and explanations that me and my husband calmed down. They gave us a great package and the follow ups appointments were set up within days. I highly recommend this company. The service is one of the best I’ve ever received. We live in a very wooded area and had a different company for our outdoor pest treatment, I can tell you we canceled the contract with them and turned all out treatment needs to Capital Pest. Thank you Capital Pest, you saved the day and our dream house.

Marshall Gross: I had a bad nice problem. I caught nine on my own and they were still coming so we called the pest company. They required us to sign a year contract because they said it’s needed to control rodents. a week after they first came there were four mice in the traps they set when they came for their second visit. 11 days later they came again for their third visit which is today and there were no mice caught, no mice droppings or activity anywhere. Hooray!! We had them spray for ants inside when they came for the second visit because we saw a lot of ants. Since then we saw only one out and I was today so they sprayed again inside. The only thing I’m not totally happy with is the price/having to sign a years contract. Everything else is excellent! Alba our technician has provided excellent service!! Sarah Rose: I scheduled a technician through Summit Hills Apartments in Silver Spring, MD to come out to my unit to spray for cockroaches. Robert Bonham was my technician and his service was excellent. I have lived at Summit Hills six years and half of that time, lived in ground floor apartments that have constant cockroaches adorning the spaces. I have had many technicians come out who usually spend a few minutes spraying common areas with little to no interaction needed from me. Robert, though, really made sure every nook and cranny was taken care of, including spraying outside my patio door and caulking up several areas that are common cockroach spots - something no technician has ever done previously. He even took the care to explain cockroach patterns (like the warm spaces in the laundry room, which is a common infested area and is just down the hall from my unit.) He further was able to explain some company history to me, so when I asked him how long he had worked for Capitol Pest, I was shocked when he said, "one year." Not only was his service excellent, but his customer service was the pinnacle of my experience. In these times of isolation, his spirit and personability really made my day - who would have thought pest control would be the best part of a person's day! Aman Khanna: Unprofessional and rude. They find reasons to avoid work. Twice we prepared our whole apartment impeccably for treatment for bed bugs and each time the technician arrived late and then looked for excuses of non-compliance when there wasn't any. When we resisted he simply walked away. Second time the guy came again 5 hours late and then immediately started taking pictures without our consent and even opened some of our packed bags to take a picture so as to make it look like we were not prepared. I might as well live with bugs than to have Capitol Pest come and treat them! Their modus operandi is to find the slightest excuse to NOT to their work placing the blame on the customer instead, they indulge in illegal activities like taking photos and sabotaging evidence and never ever arrive on time. Elmer Diaz: Dave stopped by my home and got to my home on time. He was professional and did the work in a timely manner. He was able to identify my rodent issue right away and now my home is rodent proof. I would definitely call Dave again if needed. I will recommend this company to my friends and family! Paul Agyiri: Can't speak highly enough of David and District Elite Pest Management. David arrived within the timeframe he said he would, did a very thorough inspection of my house to try to identify the source of the issue at hand (sounds of pests / rodents moving around in my ceiling) and he actually DID figure out how they were getting into the ceiling and took measures to resolve it. I also had a million and one questions for him and he was very patient and thorough when answering every single one of them, even the ones I kept repeating. He even went out of his way to help me pull down a vent cover I needed help with and help me figure out how to use a ladder I was having trouble with. Can't imagine using any other pest company going forward after my experience with David and District Elite Pest Management.

Timothy Bishop: I called District Elite to investigate a pest problem I have. David came out on time and did a FULL INVESTIGATION of my property. He started from the ground floor outside and worked his way all the way up to inside the attic. He even recommended that we go up on the roof to investigate. He came prepared with all equipment needed to do his job, unlike some contractors he didn't ask to use my tools or equipment. After throughly inspecting my property top to bottom , he made his recommendation. He stated clearly what he could do and what he couldn't do, there were no gray areas or maybes. David is very professional and personable. He respected my time and my home as he went about his work. His pricing is extremely competitive, with the service he provides it's actually a steal! Before leaving he let me know to contact him with any questions or concerns and that he's available to provide answers or additional service if needed. Based on my experience with District Elite, they will be the go to for ANY pest problems I may ever have.

Peter Slonina: My wife and I bought our first home two years ago and from the start had a small mouse problem on our first floor and kitchen area. We used a "pest control" company that charged us monthly to essentially just replace bait traps that were always empty but that never got rid of the mice. We gave up on them and finally called David from District Elite. David took a very different approach to the average pest company we used in the past. He looked over our entire house for cracks/gaps and vulnerabilities then closed and eliminated them with a variety of different materials. It's been almost six months now and NO mice!! Totally worth it.

Sobha K: I was distraught to find a dead rat in a storage closet and David came out late in the evening to get it for me. He was prompt, professional, friendly and cannot say enough about how great it was to have him there only a few hours after calling the company. He even stayed longer to do a quick inspection and give a quote on how I can close up my DC rowhouse better to avoid mice and pests from entering the home. I will definitely call them and schedule that ASAP. So nice to work with a DC company that is friendly and reasonably priced!

Krishna Kothamasu: Edited 7/26/2021: I'll give the owner of the company a lot of credit as he called and apologized over and over for missing the appointment and not calling to give us a heads up. He offered to come out immediately to make things right and the fact that he acknowledged their error and wanted to make it right, meant a lot. He immediately changed his schedule and made it a point to come by a few hours later and he was extremely pleasant to deal with. I changed the rating from 1 to 3 stars and will provide an updated review once we get the quote for quarterly service and have a few more interactions with the company. I will give the owner a lot of credit for reacting so quickly. I hope to have a more positive interaction with them similar to the one I had with the owner going forward. 7/26/2021: Can't say anything about the company's actual service as they couldn't even bother to show up for a scheduled inspection. I cancelled meetings and waited for 2 hours during the scheduled window for no one to show up or even call. When I called after the 2 hour window to ask what was going on, the representative said that the tech was somewhere else and asked if we can be available later in the day. If this is how they choose to make a first impression I can't imagine how terrible the actual service would be. Yikes, glad I found out how bad this company is before we signed up for any services with them. Service: General pest inspection

Corey Hawse: The initial consultation with this company was timely and professional, but went downhill from there. The scheduling of our first treatment for carpenter bees was moved around several times, and then when the time came for the service, they arrived an hour late. Our job required a 30-foot ladder, of which they have only one, and they scheduled two other jobs at the same time that required that ladder. Apparently, ours was the lowest priority. Despite upcharging us $200 to use the ladder, they were able to complete the first treatment without it after all. The follow-up service required a ladder too, but they no-showed for that appointment and we had to reschedule service again. During this whole ordeal, we had a number of phone calls go unanswered and promises to call us back go unfulfilled. Once the job was completed, I called to discuss these issues with a supervisor. After several unreturned phone calls, I eventually spoke with Ricky, who is the VP, owner's son, and quite argumentative. I explained that the initial consultant told me that the job would normally cost $300, but because a ladder was required it would be $500. Since one of the two service appointments was completed without a ladder, I explained to Ricky that refunding me half ($100) of the $200 ladder upcharge seemed appropriate. Ricky insisted that they only credit me back $50, but eventually relented. He said he'd also send someone out as a courtesy to do a free exterior treatment. Well, we never got the $100 that Ricky agreed to credit back to our credit card, and they did send someone out to treat our house for insects but that was not effective. We gave this company the opportunity to make it right, but they failed. I've already told several people in our neighborhood with pest issues to look elsewhere. I will avoid this company going forward and you should too. Service: Bee extermination

Tamara Adams: Alexandria Pest Services has been my go to pest company for eight years now. They became my vendor of choice when they accurately diagnosed that a hole in the pipe in my wall was the entry way for a "guest pest" that was causing a ruckus in the wall. They told me that I needed to call a plumber to have the pipe fixed to resolve the problem as this was the source of entry. Thanks to APS, not only did my "guest pest" issue get resolved due to their excellent work, but so did my corroded pipe which was unknown to me. Competency, skill set, experience, and great customer service is what I look for in a vendor that I will continue to do business with and APS has all of those factors and more. This is why I have no problem recommending APS to my friends, coworkers, and family members.

They didn't just treat the house like 2 other companies (and the problem kept coming back). They went above and beyond. They are the ONLY pest company I refer in my Real Estate business. The technicians are curteous, use foot coverings in your home and are experienced.

Tammy Stevens: I was reluctant to reach out to a pest control company to treat my home because well the internet provided all the answers – NOT. After reading the details of how to apply the chemicals I decided that I needed a professional. It was a Sunday afternoon when I did my search for a local pest control company (I decided I wanted a small business as I wanted a more personal experience). Per usual I went to the internet and several providers came up, but one stood out because they provided 24/7 service. It is 2021 and I did not expect especially during a pandemic to reach a live person on a Sunday afternoon. However, I called the number listed and a live PERSON answered the phone. He was very professional, polite and was able to schedule a consultation for the following morning. I was provided an hour window instead of four – who does that anymore??? Well, the MTB technician texted me when they were 15 minutes away and was on the early side of the hour window. The technician was respectful of the property wearing shoe covers and checked with me about wearing a mask within my home. The tech did a very thorough walk thru and I learned A LOT about how to prevent, control and treat my issue. He even went the extra mile providing me with guidance on how to treat an issue at my grandmother’s home. I highly recommend MTB for anyone looking for exceptional customer service, great results and excellent pricing. I will keep using this service for as long as I own my home. Adrienne Harris: Company did an awful, lazy job at solving for my mouse issue. I called them late on a Friday night after I saw a mouse, and they replied/ were able to come out first thing Saturday morning, but that was literally the only positive thing. The gentlemen that came out said he checked for holes/ entry points in the kitchen and put down the old school snap traps, sticky traps, and poison, charged me $125, and that was it. A week later, no mouse had been caught. I called another company to come out, who quickly identified several entry points in my kitchen and found mouse droppings behind the stove and in a closet. Their solution was much more comprehensive than putting down a few traps, and included a follow-up visit, poison, and actually patching up entry points. They also noticed/ cleaned up droppings so that they can see if there is any activity between their initial and follow-up visits. Seriously considering disputing the service fee with my credit card since the technician did not do everything that he claimed to do, and the solutions provided did not work. Andrew Sackett: Customer service at Erlich has gone significantly downhill with its corporate consolidation. You are no longer able to contact a local office, and the call center (with significant wait times) is apparently unable to contact the people doing the actual work. Moreover, it appears that technicians are over-scheduled; the last three appointments I've had one no-show and two techs come 4-5 hours after the service window closed. It still gets three stars because when you eventually get a technician they are competent, professional, and knowledgeable. Services: Rodent extermination , Bug & insect extermination

Sherri Bryant-Moore: I got more than one estimate. James Brown of Ehrlich was great for the initial estimate. He seemed honest and down to earth. He did not use scare tactics on me. ( I saw mouse and freaked out thus the estimates.) His review inside and around the property was educational. He used zero scare tactics and provided helpful pointers. Declutter certain areas, no indication of wide spread infestation, thorough explanation of intial extermination visit and monthly follow-up. Erhlich was cheaper also. He rushed my request in to accomodate my urgent need for services. The other person I got an estimate swore I likely had rodents in my attic (did not look) and other areas. He did not look at everything. But James from Erlich said if you attic is floored (like mine) it would be less of a problem. No scare tactics. So far I have had the initial visit late August with lots of traps set(where sightings or sounds were heard) and some bait in strategic areas. The exterminator confirmed no evidence of infestation. He was friendly efficient and informative. He was familiar with the area. There has been a problem in our neighborhood. They do a follow up in 10 days. Truly after the first 2 days of the initial visit we have heard nothing or seen nothing. The follow-up 10 days later yesterday 10/5 confirmed no evidence. We have not had any traps go off. However, we did follow up on the suggestions to declutter and to make an uninviting home for mice. We are also doing recommended repairs for entry points. "Don't make it easy for them to get in, and don't let them get comfortable and give them places to nest." We will continue with the monthly. I will check back as we enter into late fall and winter months. Services: General pest inspection , Rodent extermination

Suzan Kern: I loved Connor's before Erlich acquired them. Great techs and responsive, knowledgeable customer service. Now, the techs are still good but the customer "service" is abominable! You can spend 15-20 minutes on hold just to speak with a call center that can't answer the simplest questions. I was shunted from rep to rep until I insisted on speaking to the company. When I called again for follow-up service, the call center rep said my request would be "forwarded" to the company, then hung up so I had to call again to find out what would happen next. Turns out you have to wait some more for a callback from a scheduler. I missed the callback and had to go through the same call center BS TWO MORE TIMES! After all that, the tech didn't even have the correct service info when he finally came out. Who needs this kind of aggravation?!? No thanks, I'm done with Erlich. Franklin M: I had a great experience with USA Pest Control this past week. I've been battling a flea problem in my apartment and tried everything! Their representative was super helpful and asked me a lot of questions to make sure I received the services I needed. He was able to make an appointment within 24 hours of my request and provided us with so much information. Professional, friendly and quick. The biggest plus not a flea in sight. Couldn't be happier about this problem being in the past for my family.

T W: REVIEW: I had never dealt with a pest control company before, so I googled pest control companies in Silver Spring and came across USA Pest Control. We had a pretty obnoxious ant infestation and wanted to nip it in the bud fast. We received excellent customer service from Sean he seemed very nice, and extremely knowledgeable. The whole process seemed to go very smoothly from start to finish. We were really glad to get it taken care of. Brian Pfenning: Really happy with Miche’s responsiveness and service. We have an infant at home and suddenly had wasps enter our kitchen through an exhaust fan vent. We called at 7pm and Miche sent out a technician the next day (shout out to McKayla for making that happen). Our technician Tim Rounds was awesome - personable, timely, and professional - and he treated the vent and the rest of the house for wasps and they haven’t been back since. Katie Reyes: My family and I had a bed bug infestation issue on and off for the past couple years. We tried traditional treatments such as bed bug bombs from Home Depot and "professionals"... we had no luck. I did my research and came across heat treatments for eradicating bed bugs. I found Highland Eco Pest Control and discovered that they provided heat treatments. They have great reviews and I decided to give them a call. Within a few days they came and did the K-9 inspection. The K-9 (Freddy, a very good boy) found live bed bugs in one bedroom and the living room where we suspected they were. Julia was the specialist who brought Freddy to our home and she was a delight. Answered all my many questions, was thorough, patient, and kind. The price for our 2,064sqft house to be treated was reasonable and below most quotes I received from other places. I received follow-up calls/texts about my treatment which I greatly appreciated. It's been two months since the initial treatment and there have been no signs of bedbugs at all. My family and I are ecstatic about sleeping peacefully at night. We are so grateful to Highland Eco Pest Control for their incredible customer service and effective treatment. Ronald Hopchak: Julia and her dog Puma came to inspect our house the day after I contacted the company. Julia was very professional and considerate. She explained what she was going to do and answered all of our questions. We had found a bug in our house that a different company identified as a bed bug. We contacted Highland Eco Pest Control because they specialize in bed bugs and have the bed bug sniffing dogs. The bug in question turned out to be a beetle but we still had Julia and her super cool dog, Puma, inspect the house. They were extremely thorough. I felt confident that the inspection was accurate. George Clemons: We've been using Highland for about 8 years for all of our bed bug services here on our campus. Jesse, and his men have been amazing to work with. The techs are very knowledgeable, professional and work with our students well. Jesse has understood our situation in dealing with bed bugs, students, and parents, and has accommodated us at every turn, and even has done weekend work for us when necessary. I know he has rearranged his schedule to service us in urgent situations. The results of the services have been fantastic. We have only had one treatment failure since we've had their service, and that was not the fault of the techs, or the company, but a failure on our part in the preparations. All in all, I highly recommend Highland, and will be continuing to use Highland for all of our Bed Bug services. Angel Patterson: Highland Eco Pest Control was Fantastic to work with from start to finish!! My condo began showing bed bugs after the condo above me was confirmed to have an infestation. Upon contacting Highland they were pleasant and understanding of the urgency needed for treatment. Their inspector came out and did a thorough inspection while we also had a pleasant conversation. When the exterminator came we were already out of the house, he communicated with me via text throughout his process, confirmed when he was done and when we could return home. Robert Ingram: Contacted for rodent inspection. The technician, James, was very professional, personable and educational. I'm generally pretty suspicious when in comes to "needed services" on my home, but James explained everything as he took me through his inspection and what to expect going forward. He was truly educating me as we went along. The thing that really stuck out to me was him saying "don't just take my word, you should google what I'm telling you. After his inspection and sealing exterior entry ways any interior travel paths, he gave me his recommendations without pressuring me to make a decision. In addition I had another technician, Derrick, came to do my initial pest and insect service. Just as James was professional, informative and educational, so was Derrick. Spending a 35 years in the service industry, I can say that your technicians are not only well trained, but go above and beyond to make sure customers are informed and comfortable with the services that are being provided. Amy Van Hecke: I wanted to write an amazing review. We’ve used this company for 2 years-one for rodents as an annual subscription and our latest for bed bugs. The actual exterminators are incredible-kind, courteous, informative, timely. Our challenge has been with administration. We can’t get fast help, there’s no emergency response (even after we’ve paid over $1,000 for 6 months of continual treatment, no one has responded to us in 5 days after multiple attempts). I think in the end we wish we would have chosen another company and will now seek a refund because the follow through is not what was promised and paid for. Arja Sahramaa: Actually, I ended up not using this service since my bees are not yellow jackets but honey bees, according to Will Mills! He was here before he was supposed to be here (wonderful) and gave me the scoop of my critters. He also advised me to get in touch with local bee keepers since bees are a protected species, and I am glad to do that. Kyle Van Hecke: I don’t even know where to begin as we have an ever growing log of complaints with this company that are never followed up on. This company did a bed bug inspection for us 3 months ago and recommended 3 treatments to be “bed bug free.” We are now on treatment 9 and still have bed bugs! Furthermore, they’ve incorrectly declared us “bed bug free” 3 times along the way. We have 3 small children and we’ve had to move out and back into our home so many times… it’s been an absolute nightmare. In hindsight, I would have gladly paid significantly more money for a company that is trustworthy and reliable. Affordable Pest Control is not worth the headache. What really frustrating is that, it is hard to move forward. Can't really talk to whoever in charge of that, and they are not responsive to your problem (and they don't transfer me to anyone else). They continue to come to perform service WITHOUT prior notice or confirmation from us. If you do want to use this service because it might offer a slightly better price, please be very careful about all the information and ask them everything you have question about. Alex Joseph: One of their employees almost hit me with their truck while I was in the crosswalk (with the walk sign) in Rosslyn. I called the customer service line and they said they would they would give him a call, but they did not even attempt an apology, hence the one star review because of their adding insult to injury.

Anitra L: Do NOT do business with this company at all, and if your apartment complex uses them please consider hiring someone else. Their employees have no respect for your property, they will go through your belongings and break your things without saying anything. When you call to request compensation for the items they’ve broken (with proof) they laugh at you and hang up on you. If that’s not bad enough they leave a mess after they’re finished and don’t clean up after themself.

They have the exterminators literally bouncing around like a rubber ball. I would've rather not spent majority of my day off waiting around for Owl.

Cyrena Salley: I live in an apartment complex that has recently had a rodent issue becuase of contruction that is being done across the street. I have been living here for over 5 years and never had this issue. I called the rental office and they immediately scheduled me for treatment by an exterminator. When the technician from Owl Pest Prevantion arrived he was very professional. He took his time and checked every inch of my apartment and was able to detect where the mouse was coming in. He treated my apartment and was very infromative about what I should do moving forward to keep them out. Andrew G: Poor trained staff. Technician placed the rat poison in the areas, easy accessible to anyone. My dog ate it all. Apparently rat poison attractive to the dogs as well. Good thing I’ve noticed that and took the dog to a vet clinic. Owner/manager of Owl Prevention Michael paid the animal hospital bill, but partially. Made us sign a release form, which doesn’t make sense and now disappear when we asked to take care of payment in full. (Medication etc.) Nothing so far. Not really good customer service. At least make sure your people know what they doing.

Phillipa Peevy: There was a misunderstanding with me and one of the technicians regarding my service contract. I was not financially prepared. Mr. Darryl Reed investigated the first floor of my house for rodents and refreshed traps for no charge. I call that excellent service. I commend this company. I have not seen any rodents but one we caught a few months ago since Destroy Pest Control services. I'm happy at the time there is no signs of rodents activity in my house. Ms. CJ: First time customer and did not receive $50 discount. After inspection and extermination, found another visible hive. Called the office and was put on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on. Called back and got owner who answered while working on a project. His project was so noisy that we could not hear each other. It's baffling to me as to why he would answer the phone at that time. The owner called me back and I informed him about the phone disconnect with his office; hive found; and the discount that I didn't receive. The owner said he needed to call the office to see what was going on and that he would get back to me. He never did. I found the exterminator DJ to be very manerable and professional. He communicated well and was on time. If only he had removed all hives, I would rate him 5 stars. But as for this company, it seems that they have poor communications and follow-up. Erwin Rozada: Good, friendly, professional service at a reasonable price. I was given the exact service that I needed for my situation and we got rid of the rodents. They were not pushy in trying to get me to pay for more than what I needed. The technician diagnosed my problem, and implemented a successful solution. Sveta Lasco: Where do I start, terrible service and poor customer support. Would avoid this company at ALL cost. This company acquired our previous termite/pest company and everything went downhill from there. They "dropped" my phone calls three times while being transferred and blamed it on their poor phone service. When finally reached a manger, Tonya Hammer, she promised to try and resolve my issue at their company meeting and get to me the next day, - yet this was 3 days ago and I haven't heard back from her or anyone else. They refuse to HONOR the contract I signed with our old termite company (1.5 years ago) saying it was before the acquisition . I paid upfront for all the services provided with the condition to treat the basement at a later time. Fast-forward to now, even though AMERICAN PEST acquired their customer base you'd think they also follow through with the liabilities. The worst part is that it's impossible to reach a decision maker who can actually help as they seem interested in doing so. Do I add that they have raised the price from $350 to $400 within a year for yearly services? Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else Service: Termite extermination

First and foremost, please know that we will be honoring your contract regarding the basement area and are sorry anyone gave you a different impression. We were able to find the agreement on file specifying the treatment of your basement at a later date. I will say that this is an unusual treatment to have in conjunction with termite stations around a homes perimeter, therefore i suspect that may be why our office team was a bit confused. In addition to honoring your agreement, I personally contacted the branch manager of your service area who reviewed the account and is going to have a service manager come to your home to treat and provide you with an overview of your services. While we understand that price increases are never ideal, however due to the inflation in costs of materials, staffing, and other commodities essential to your services, we have unfortunately had to raise our prices. You are important to us and we will do everything we can to improve our processes and your customer experience so that you see the value in those services and stay pest(and termite) free. If you continue to have issues, please don't hesitate to reach out and/or send us a message on this listing as the marketing team reviews each and will make sure that you have someone follow up with you! JB Tyler: From my first phone call, I was impressed. Customer service is above and beyond, the type you don't find anywhere anymore. As a former CSR trainer for two Fortune 500 companies, I am normally disappointed by interactions with any service providers, but the gentleman who answered my first call was excellent and I signed up. Other pest control companies require a contract, but with American Pest you can cancel at any time. Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly technicians. You are allowing these strangers into the recesses of your home: the bedrooms and bathrooms, the closets, the storage areas, everywhere, and they make you feel very comfortable. Clear instructions on how to keep pets and children safe. Also, I have a cat and two large but sweet puppies and the guys were not afraid of them. They were careful to not let the cat out and ensured my pets didn't get near the pesticide. I've used two other pest control companies and American Pest has the highest level of professionalism in every way. I haven't seen a bug inside since we began using them. 5 stars. Lady Vee S.: I did a pre-examination of the inside of my home and discovered several openings/holes. During my visit the gentleman who serviced my home filled all the openings that I previously discovered. He also performed his own inspection. He looked for mouse droppings inside and outside my home and he also searched for additional openings that would allow a rodent to gain access to my home. He laid traps and sprayed outside my house. Because he could not gain access to my crawlspace (water), he placed a deterrent device outside the opening to the crawlspace. The service provider was professional, on time, courteous, and attentive to my concerns and questions.

Kevin Gibbs: This company auto-started service for calendar year 2022. I got an email on 3/24 for service on 3/25. I replied within 8 minutes clearly stating I wanted the service canceled and I will contact them for starting service later in the season. They emailed asking me whether or not I wanted March and April service paused which I didn't answer because my message was clear. The next day the tech calls and I informed him I sent an email requesting service be canceled. That same tech apparently closed the ticket incorrectly which resulted in a $59 invoice for service which was not rendered. I immediately called them Monday, 3/27 to clarify when they tried to charge a credit card on file which had been replaced thankfully. The following day 3/28 I got another email stating they are trying to charge the card again. Then the email correspondence was infuriating. The following two messages I sent were summarily dismissed by the customer support rep: "Please cancel this appointment. I will reach out when I want to initiate service for the season." "At this point please put this account and any future service on hold until further notice. I'm going to look at alternative options." At the time of this writing I am still waiting for them to: a) cancel the invoice on my account for service they did not render b) cancel service for the season per my initial request c) cancel my account due to their ridiculous protocols and business practices I would rate them a zero based on their customer service and response to my messages. DSE: My initial contract was with Capitol Pest Control until they merged with American Pest Control. Upon this merger, I found that customer service with American Pest Control is extremely poor. Communication among the customer office staff, technicians, and scheduling office is completely lacking. The various entities don't seem to have a clue what is going on and staff seem to be rather rude. I will not be renewing my contract when it expires and will be taking my business elsewhere. Chantal F: Dwayne was great. Friendly & cheerful, and businesslike. He thoroughly explained what he was doing to get rid of the sugar ants, and advised us what to do and what not to do for the next two weeks. This company does a good job servicing our entire condominium complex. We have not had any pest problems except sime years during Spring rains in all the years we have luved here. here. phil825: I established an annual service plan with Atlas, which was recently bought out by American Pest. What a mess! Very disorganized company. No one knows what the other is doing. They were supposed to come to my house for annual Sentricon servicing. After confirming with them that I did not need to be home (all of the Sentricon stations are outside), I went about my day. When I returned home I found a note lying in the front yard. Something to the effect of "we couldn't service your property today [no reason given], the office will contact you to reschedule." Of course, I never heard from anyone. I called today, about three weeks later, and was told that they would send someone out and that I did not need to be home. I asked why the house wasn't treated on the last visit. Don't know. I asked what is involved in the Sentricon servicing and was told they "just put a piece of plain wood in the bait station and then if there is evidence if activity they will treat that station." This is in direct contrast to what I was told when I set up this service (all stations are baited when we place them and maintained thereafter) ... and how Sentricon explains how their system works on their own web site! I'm also not sure why I would have paid over a thousand dollars to have the system installed and over $300 annually to have it maintained if they're just putting "a piece of wood" into the bait stations. I have lost all faith in this messy, disorganized company. Too bad I had to spend almost $2000 to learn not to trust them. Service: Termite inspection

John Sullivan: Service was fine I suppose, just was surprised that they wouldn't start the treatment without payment on the spot. This is not typical PestNow Service protocol, as I have always paid on line after-the-fact, and this goes against the grain of paying for services received, not about to be received with no way to observe if they did an adequate job or not. April Matiasek: I was forced into a contract with this company when I purchased my house and I usually don't care and have had good luck when this happens. What I have since found out is that the termite business is a complete RACKET. I have bait traps around my house. Theoretically, technicians come to the house to "check" them a couple time (maybe only once?) a year. To be granted this service I am charged hundreds of dollars a year. I did see the guys one time, and he didn't even CHECK the traps! Just kinda walked around the house. I sometimes find a "we've been here" thing on the front door but also infrequent. The only reason I didn't give them one star is because when the guys come out for my quarterly spray they are quite helpful and nice and I don't mind paying the quarterly fee for ants, etc. BUT, hundreds of dollars to come out and walk around my house??? I'm sure it is also related to the bait traps themselves because everyone wants a cut (I researched and only certain folks can "service" the traps.) They also just schedule your appointment without talking to you and if you miss the email (because none of us have over-crowded inboxes or things that go into spam, right?) then you just randomly get a bill for something you didn't even know was happening. I'm sure some folks have great experiences, but good luck if you sign up with them.

No customer is “forced” to do anything there are always alternatives and choices and I assure you thousands of home owners a year that experience termites and termite damage would confirm there is no racket, the fact you have not had termite infestation or damages might be proof it is in fact working and valid. That being said I would love to have the opportunity to hear your concerns in depth, check the actual account and see if I can clarify or correct if I find a problem. Please email me your address so I can look it up. Money is tight I fully understand the frustration but before you declare it a racket allow me to look into it.

They knew what inspections and documentation was needed when working with the VA. Also helps that the company is very understanding of active duty and former military families. gid abe: Pest Czar has a very customer oriented and quick response company culture. The persons I have directed dealt with the past year are Jennifer the supervisor and dispatcher to the technicians and also customer service contact person and Erica owner of the company. They have been very helpful in dealing with a tenant that made it difficult to conduct a regularly scheduled visit. Jennifer was able to accommodate the visits based on the ever-changing schedule of the tenant. Erica has also stepped and helped with some the issues were having and picking up the slack when Jennifer had a family emergency and communicated with Jennifer to follow up on the task at hand. Their staff always arrives on the schedule time down to the minute/ Ryan was the tech who was assigned to the most current visit at the rental property. Ryan Dilling is thorough and a very competent technician. He visited the rental property that was due for a quarterly checkup. He was able to perform his duty despite the unfriendly and uncooperative tenant who was there at the time of his service call. He gathered important documents supported with pictures that may indicate the cause of the pest problem the tenant has been complaining about. His report is very useful in our effort to mitigate the pest problem that the resident has expressed about. Ryan, thank you very much for your professionalism and your detail-oriented approach in dealing with issue. I highly recommend Pest Czar for all extermination services. They have great customer service, are competitively priced, very respectful of us and our home, and do a great job controlling the ants that love to try and get inside. Lateaqua Alston: I have utilized Pest Czar for about 2 and a half years and they are always exceptional! They offer pretty much any service you can think of when it comes to pest control and they have kept my home pest free. What I love most is how they offer service with a personal touch. Ryan has been my pest control tech for the entire two years and every 3 months when he comes out to do his inspection and treatments, it always seems as if I have a family member that has come to visit. Judah P: Jonathan Berkey has been great throughout the entire process. He explains what needs to be done, asks if there are any questions/concerns, is punctual, and friendly! He's very respectful of the space, wearing shoe covers when indoors, asking if it's okay to enter spaces as to respect privacy, and providing advance notice of arrival. Kwenesha Williams-Dorsey: Ryan is very personable, fast and reliable! We appreciate him eradicating most of our rodent problem.
