Sam Hurd Photography: what do users think?

Evan Anthony: We hired Sam as the photographer for our wedding in Haymarket, VA, and he was simply amazing and a true professional. Sam photographed our engagement session as well as the wedding. Working with him for our engagement shoot, and seeing the results only furthered our excitement to work with Sam for our wedding. It is hard to put into words how happy we are after working with him. One thing that we love about Sam is his amazing eye for phenomenal shots. This is very evident after looking through his work. We decided to work with Sam after a phone call where we learned more about him, and expressed the vision for our wedding. In addition to shots after the ceremony, Sam brought us outside for pictures during sunset, as well as moonlit pictures towards the end of the night. We feel that Sam goes above and beyond in his work. He is truly talented, and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Sam if you are looking for a photographer for your event

The Mbimbas: We had the best time during our engagement session with Sam! We were so nervous, but his calm presence made us so comfortable and we were laughing the whole time. He was professional and on time even though he had to drive all the way to Delaware! We love our photos so much and cannot wait for him to shoot our big day. We had to reschedule our wedding because of Covid and chose a date based on Sam’s availability - that’s how much we love his work. He really is an artist. His use of crystals, “ring of fire” and other techniques create such stunning images. I am editing my review because our wedding occurred and it was the best day ever! Sam was so calm and professional. The day went perfectly and I am so excited to see the photos from sunset. Throughout this wedding procession he has quickly and calmly answered all of my questions without getting frustrated. He truly is a gem! If you are looking for colorful, unique photos and a chill, but extremely talented photographer, this is your guy!

Sara Modlin: Wow! What an incredible find! So lucky to have found the PERFECT wedding photographer for our wedding. Throughout our planning process with COVID, Sam was always extremely responsive. On the wedding day, Sam was extremely chill and our wedding party informed us of how much they enjoyed working with him. Sometimes, people may find photos overwhelming but Sam’s experience wasn’t at all. It was easy and enjoyable. Sam shocked us by finding a hidden gem of a location to take our wedding photos. We didn’t even think of this spot. There wasn’t much greenery at our location, and somehow he found a gorgeous area full of trees and perfect lighting. Sam is extremely talented. His photos are not the boring wedding photos that all look the same. His photos have so much character and color. He’s great at not only capturing candid moments, but also great at photographing the wedding decor (flowers, etc). He really impressed us with how many different photos he was able to take during the ceremony & reception. Would highly recommend!! .

Alison Ritchie: My husband and I chose Sam to do our wedding photos and are so happy that we did. We wanted a photographer with a creative, artistic take on wedding photos and Sam delivered - our photos are beautiful and creative. Sam was also so much fun to work with - making us laugh and effortlessly helping our guests get organized for the photos. We highly recommend Sam!!

Fiander Foto: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueMy husband and I booked a photo shoot with Sam to celebrate ten years together. We had a FABULOUS time working with Sam; we laughed through the whole photo shoot! The photos are GORGEOUS and we love his style of composition. Best of all - Sam captured our personalities 100%! We will definitely book again in the future. Thank you Sam!

Glenn Peters: I could not possibly imagine a better photographer. Genuinely I had no idea who my wife hired prior to our wedding and let me tell you she made the absolute best decision. You would not be able to convince me there is anyone better then sam. Not only was his professionalism absolutely top tier. You can immediately tell that he’s more then a photographer he’s an artist. Most importantly his photo shoot sessions during our wedding ended up being my favorite part of the whole affair. He provided us with the most intimate and special moments with eachother out of the whole wedding. I would go out of my way to recommend him to anyone and everyone. Me and my wife were just saying how we literally miss him.

Larissa O'Loughlin: We had such a great experience with Sam as our wedding photographer! He was responsive, professional, and amazing to work with. He really captured the emotions and story of our wedding day and I truly love our photos. He gave great direction during portraits which put my husband and me at ease. During the ceremony and reception he was discreet when taking pictures, and still managed to capture every moment beautifully. I highly recommend Sam!

Meghan Coakley: Sam is an amazing photographer. Not only does he take wonderful pictures, but he also does a great job of putting albums together to really tell the story of your wedding day. My husband and I were living in Spain when we got married, and Sam was extremely flexible with shooting the Engagement Photos and took great care to make sure everything was ready for our day. He also helped us pose for the pictures since we were not very good at it while at the same time capturing those natural moments that really illustrated our love. He also got the pictures to us quickly because he knew how excited we were to see them and relive everything. I recommend him to every person I know that is getting married because everything was perfect.

Kirth Bobb | Washington DC Photographer: what do users think?

Kofi & Mary Woodley: We wish there was on option to give a 10-star rating because that’s what Kirth Bobb’s Photography truly deserves! It was clearly obvious to us that Kirth was an outstanding photographer from looking at his past work. His photos are works of art! But what truly sets him apart is the thorough process in which he caters to his clients, the meticulous approach to his work/art, and the conspicuous passion for his profession. When we booked Kirth to shoot our engagement and wedding photos, he made it his priority to get to know us a couple more, our story, and how we would like our memories to be curated. After he got to know us better, he carefully explained what his process is like, what was his objective, and ensured it aligned with our interests and input. He also kept in constant communication with us between shoots, updating us on any new information, requests, and/or concerns. On the day of shoots Kirth ensured that we were comfortable, and most importantly, that we were having fun! Believe it or not, posing all day for pictures can be super stressful. But Kirth made it was an enjoyable experience. Kirth was also remarkable in getting great shots of the people and the scenes of the wedding; capturing a variety of candid expressions and moments that told an incredible story of our wedding day. To this day, everyone who views our photos always comment on how astonishing they are. And so do we! Having Kirth as our photographer was such a rewarding decision for us. He is a great talent and a true professional. To anyone looking for a world-class photographer, we HIGHLY recommend him.

Ross Gilchriest: Kirth was very professional and made the photography session fun. I normally don’t like taking pictures, but he was able to get my fiancée and me to open up and take some great shots. He quickly turned around the photos and they looked absolutely phenomenal. We would recommend Kirth to anyone looking to take photos for their engagement session, wedding or any other special occasion!

Michelle Ottey: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessKirth is a fantastic photographer, one of the best I’ve worked with. He has a great eye, impeccable attention to detail and was very responsive! Highly recommend Kirth and look forward to working with him again!

Solianna Meaza: It was a pleasure to work with Kirth and his team for our engagement and wedding photos. During the interview process, Kirth and Chris were easy to talk to and quickly understood the types of photos we wanted to capture during our big day. They were both easy to work with and helped to make our friends and family comfortable during all the photos. They captured a great mixture of posed and candid shots that we will cherish for many years to come. Our photos are beautiful!

Brittany Omess: One of my first realizations with how happy we were with these photos was when we were going through them one by one and kept electing a "new favorite." Kirth really delivered on what we asked him to, to capture moments to help us remember the best day of our lives.

Char Van Cappel: Kirth was wonderful to work with. He was very professional in his manner and approach. We shoot twice, the first time I was not fully satisfied with my photos due to a lack of communication between us, it was not his fault by any means. Yet, Kirth was prompt to offer a reshoot. Which I greatly appreciated and goes to show you how much he values his work and his clients! The second time around the photos came out great! The process was enjoyable, he was quick to edit and deliver the photos. I would recommend him as a photographer and use him again myself.

Onikah McLean: Kirth is an extraordinary photographer. In March he travelled to Jamaica to shoot my tropical wedding and the images that I have received was beyond my imagination. Kirth has captured all the perfect moments that highlights my love story. He is very professional and delivers the highest quality. I highly recommend Kirth Bobb Photography to shoot your special day.

India Brim: Kirth is an amazing photographer. He is able to capture his subjects with ease and has an acute attention to detail. Kirth is also extremely professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend him for headshots, weddings, special family events, and any moments you want memorialized in a photograph. I won’t hesitate to use him for my photography needs in the future.

National Portrait Gallery: what do users think?

ReCreate Artworks: This is the best art gallery in DC in my opinion. It’s beautiful, unique and calming. There’s an atrium in the center that provides a dreamy place to sit and rest. My favorite thing about this gallery, however, is that there’s conservationists you can watch at work. When you walk into this museum it’s like being in a different world. Each space creates such a unique atmosphere and is breathtaking to say the least.

Klau Pao: The Gallery is amazing, you will probably spend 2 hours there. It has very beautiful portraits, one of my favorites was Gilbert Stuart painting of George Washington and everything related to Abraham Lincoln as well as the amazing portrait of the Supreme Court Justices! Wow what a place to put on my memory box! I loved it!

M J: I really enjoyed the National Portrait Gallery which shares buildings with the American Art Museum (they each have a side on both buildings). The Hall of Presidents was excellent. I really enjoyed seeing the 2022 Potrait Contest and enjoyed voting for my favorite Portrait. There is a 50 year Anniversary exhibit for the Watergate Scandal and we almost visited on the actual anniversary so that was cool. There are a lot of different portraits of Americans on display and they are pretty randomly spread out between the rooms. All in all, expect to spend 1 1/2-2 hours at this part of the museum. I will say, some teens and kids who are not the most intellectually driven may find it boring as there are not interactive exhibits.

Ukvayat Hanak: The National Portrait Gallery gets 4/5 for all the exhibit areas that are closed right now. Many renovations going on! So many varied exhibits though. A great place to host a catered event. Check em out!

Kathy W: Museum is really big and has so much to see. We spent a good amount of time at kogot courtyard which happens to have orchids displays. Beautiful and fun place for people of all ages. Parking was somewhat challenging but really worth the trip.

Joshua Russell: This is one of our favorite museums in DC by far. You get a wide array of art here on three floors. This is located right in Chinatown across the street from Capital One Arena with two entrances. One thing to note if you are being a bag it has to be worn in front of you at all times. We recently came here and I would say my favorite areas were the special exhibition of the dual artists and their stories. They show one piece of art from the artist and tells the story of their connection. They have a Jackson Pollock called Heading West which was really neat to his art before the drip style. Another favorite was the Hung Liu portraits, the way she did them is nothing I’ve seen before and really showed great expression. I also enjoyed the social Justice exhibition as it covered a wide variety of areas and include very moving stories. I highly recommend coming here and spending a couple hours browsing.

United States National Arboretum: what do users think?

Eduardo Moser: We visited during cherry blossom days. They have a great variety of cherry trees and magnolias. It is a complement to know different cherry blossoms from those of the Tidal Basin. There is no proper public transportation, so the place is fairly free of tourists. We came to this place by car on the recommendation of a friend who lives in DC. The Bonsai collection is amazing. There is much to walk and explore. On a plain they have mounted the original columns of the Capitol. Bring some snacks and drinks, because there is no service in the place. Access and parking is free.

Da-Wang Wu: We came here in late April, and the Azalea blossoming was pretty amazing! Walking on the trail with the Azalea blossoming along the way was very nice. Parking inside the park can be tricky, so we parked in the lot right next to the entrance and walked 5-10 minutes to the main campus. Overall, it’s a beautiful place, and I would definitely come back.

CJ: Depending on when you visit the US National Arboretum, something different is peaking. In mid April, the fruit trees were just past peak, but the lilacs shrubs were close to full bloom. As I strolled thru the lilac grove, the soft lilac fragrance permeated the air. One of the US National Arboretum’s most prominent and a little puzzling landmarks is the old Corinthian National Capitol Columns residing on the Ellipse Meadow. The US National Arboretum was not the column’s intended home when they were quarried back in the early 1800s. Originally, the columns were built as a part of the east portico of the US Capitol Building now located about 3 miles away from the US National Arboretum. By the 1860s, when the dome of the Capitol was completed, the columns were deemed inadequate to support the new dome. It wouldn’t be until the mid 1980s before the columns would find their final home at the US National Arboretum. Twenty-two of the original 24 columns are on majestic display in Ellipse Meadow. During our trip to the US National Arboretum in mid April, the Azaleas were just starting to bud and bloom. So no good pictures this trip. Peak time for the Azalea garden at the arboretum is late April. I hear the Azaleas are a beautiful sight when the hillside is painted with splotches of different colors.

Karthikeyan Rajaram: Luck is when you run into a beautiful place like this without planning. Better luck is when you get into it in the company of a person who used to volunteer at this place. We didn’t really plan to be at the arboretum, considering that the Spring is still not Springy enough. We had seen enough of Cherry Blossoms in the Tidal basin area that we thought we could do something else. We just made it to this place on recommendation from one of our relatives, who also accompanied us. Since he was a volunteer here, he helped us navigate and gave us so much insights about the different kinds of plants, flowers, bonsais and the what the lovely people who work here, do. We drove around this place and still got to see more cherry blossoms, along with different other species of flora. The enchanting Bonsai museum is a must visit as it did take our breathes away. The old columns of the capitol and the grove of different state trees are some of the special features of this place. The flowers were not in full blossom and we definitely look forward to checking this place again in summer.

Logan Heilman: Visited for the Bonsai event they were having and had a blast. All the vendors were great and the museums bonsai and penjing exhibit was phenomenal. Will definitely be back.

Elisabeth “Beth” Ostrander: We only had about an hour and headed to the bonsai area. Wow! To see living gifts from Japan and China that were started and cared for since before the birth of our nation was truly outstanding. Befitting our National Arboretum! Will return to see more treasures!

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum: what do users think?

The Maldonado’s: The Holocaust is one of those historic atrocities that we shouldn’t forget. This memorial is well thought out, planned and kept. Come with time to spare because there is lots to see, learn and explore. Find the password before you hop in the elevator and start your journey as a Jew prisoner.

Roberto J. Fajardo: This is a must stop in DC. Powerful, somber. Tragic. But we must remind ourselves every now and then do that we use our voices and actions to stop evil before it gains power. It only cost $1 to get in. Excellent organization. Permanent exhibit is informative and has a lot of "artefacts" to support the message.

Robert Wagner: A story that must be told. Devastatingly real. MAYBE A TICKET HACK: I could not get daily tickets that became available at 7 AM. The program kept telling me that they were not available for the day. I noticed the program kept mentioning somthing about purchasing tickets previously. So I went in a purchased them in advanced for a dollar a piece then I went back to the tickets that were available for the day at 7 AM and the program let me buy the tickets for that day. I guess since I had already purchased tickets previously the program had me in the system. I hope this helps anyone trying to get tickets at 7 AM.

kevin haughey: Everyone should experience this, understand what happened, how it happened, and never forget. Blindly following a government or charismatic leader can be tragic. Not speaking up when it begins can be deadly.

Anthony Scott: An amazing museum to see, and very eye opening. So many facts, and so many things I have never seen or heard before. You can enter for free, but just get there early enough to get tickets to see the whole exhibit. The museum allows military, police, and fireman in anytime to attend the entire museum, even if all the tickets were given out. A definite must see while in DC.

Curtis Tucker: Beautiful museum. Just felt a little rushed because it was very busy. Wish I could of spent more time viewing each and every part of the self guided tour without feeling like I was "hogging it" from people behind me. But I loved it otherwise. It was a heartbreaking and enjoyable educational experience at the same time.

Mexican Cultural Institute: what do users think?

Drea M: They often have events and most of them are free. This place is definitely a DC gem. At the event I went to for Dia De Los Muertos I got to see a lot of great art from Mexican artists. There is also a really amazing mural at the institute.

Nkili Sudah: The mariacha band was amazing! The food was scrumptious and their hospitality was warm and welcoming!

Greg Amiker: Beautiful murals and Galleries. The photo is with Mexican President Obrador on the staircase visiting the facility Nov 18. 2021

byron subero: The Mexican cultural institute is celebrating "Oaxaca in the United States" until Nov 2nd. Three floors of cultural art, pottery and handmade gift items.

Elizabeth Groover: I visited the Institute to attend #mezcalprom with the Mezcalistas and a great friend. Beautiful embassy, wonderful spirits, and delicious bites to accompany. Event was well run, well-staffed, and overall a really great time. Highly recommend a visit to at least admire the beautiful interior!

Aurelie Boissy: Such a beautiful establishment. The wall artwork are mesmerizing. I wish there was parking nearby; you need to allow enough parking time if you’re planning on coming there.

Jimmy Ndawula: Great cultural heritage we were given a warm welcome the food was delicious thanks to the Rotaract club of American University, the Rotary club of Federal City and the Rotary club of Historical Prince Georgia for organizing the event.

Tom Long: Amazing space with interesting rotating cultural exhibitions and events. Totally worth a visit!

United States Botanic Garden: what do users think?

ThePinkfreak805: A really beautiful and enjoyable place! They’ve got some really awesome plant species here! The tropical room is especially great! Not only is it beautiful, but with the humidity you’ll really feel like you’re in the rainforest! Also very cool to see the endangered plants you aren’t likely to see anywhere else.

Alex Navarro: Always lovely. The inside and outside gardens are full of flowers. Great place to take kids. They even have a children’s garden where kids can plant something and water it. So cute! You can spend a lot of time here if you like, but you can also easily see everything in about an hour.

Richa Rashmi: This is such a delightful retreat for an afternoon lunch or just a date in the different ecotones of the world. You could walk into a completely tropical climate full of tropical trees that have terrace views, or walk into a desert of cactus. There’s a section on medicinal plants followed by rare and endangered species which is mind blowing. I absolutely loved my shortest trip to Hawaii and then to a garden of orchids and roses. Be sure to checkout the inner and outer gardens. There are interesting wall murals of tea from China and other such use. But the most amazing part was the TOILET. Yes, you heard it right. It’s full of ornamental plants that smells amazing and the sound of water and birds will make you feel you’re in the cleanest part of the world, unlike what public restrooms are known for.

Jeremy Andra: The botanical gardens are a beautiful hideaway from the normal everyday views of the world. An amazing display of some of the wonderful offerings this world has to offer in the way of beautiful plants and miscellaneous greenery. We were shocked to find there is no charge to see any of this and would highly suggest you stop in and check it out.

Hyo Jin Moon: Beautiful garden that is open to the public for free. There are spots where you can sit and enjoy the weather and also the indoor green house that has so much to see (and learn. Lots of educational components). I highly recommend visiting here with kids of all ages.

Ben Matthews: If you’ve spent the day walking up the mall and around the museums, then this is a fantastic place to unwind. The glasshouse is beautiful in its own right, and features plants from many different climates. And the outdoor gardens are equally lovely. Definitely worth a stop if you’re near the Capital Building.

Leica Store Washington DC: what do users think?

Haresh Mehta: The store without a doubt lives up to the Leica standard. No rush rush sales pressure, no up-selling, just a fantastic educated opinion from Leica Ambassadors. I met with Christopher, he helped me trade in my visoflex and get the new one, completed the paperwork for the service of my m10R, while I enjoyed browsing through their gallery and books. Happy to buy from here and revisit.

C Davidson: Excellent shows and small gallery. Knowledgeable sales rep and they understand the Leica mystique. Helped a friend buy an M10 here with a 50 Summicron and used 28 Elmarit. The Elmarit looked brand new.

Prakash Narayan: I have been savoring the joys of this store for many years now. Werner Paul and his team are superb -- extremely solicitous, considerate and informative, and professionals through and through. Any matter concerning my precious Leica camera or lens was considered and addressed swiftly and thoroughly -- to my complete satisfaction. A photographer could not ask for more, and I remain grateful.

Richard Burg: A great store with great products and a superb staff. Each member of the staff is an accomplished photographer who willingly shares knowledge and technique. Particularly recommended is the individual photography classes offered by David Bickley.

Francisco Lovko: The staff was amazing, their customer service was impeccable and they were great ambassadors for the brand! They were very knowledgeable about their products and photography in general. We had a great conversation about digital and analog photography.

Marcos Rego: I went in just to window shop. The two working behind the desk there were beyond helpful with my questions, so much so that I ended up buying a strap for my M3 that I had just bought (that they also generously checked out for me). It was an absolute pleasure.

The U.S. Capitol Visitor Center: what do users think?

TexCat: Thoroughly enjoyed our impromptu visit here. It’s only just reopened fully to the public since the pandemic apparently. We got there and learned that you could scan a code there and get an online reservation if there were any available. We got lucky and got in immediately! Wonderful tour. Our guide was great. She kept it interesting and informative. So glad we came. One of the highlights of our DC trip.

Ivana Purić: Wanted to finally visit US Capitol inside , but unfortunately it’s closed because of pandemic and they didn’t upload this details on Google Maps . It was good weather , so we just walked around .

Greg Davis: Book in advance but on the quiet days you can turn up without a reservation and walk straight on to a tour as we did on a Friday. It’s worth doing. The rotunda is fantastic. For international visitors it’s easy enough to get to see the extras (house of senate and House of Representatives) - just give your photo ID to the appointment desk. But note that no cameras are allowed in either of those last two places and it has it own security.

Mark Thornton: Pretty cool place. Beautiful architects as with all DC buildings, not too busy —though through the week. Very structured and organized for visitors. Restaurant onsite. Gets very busy bus is organized and structured well. The food isn’t that great, but has a good variety.

Chris Shearer: Super organized tour. Got right in to the initial auditorium to watch the starter film. Gave good info and a good overview. Lady herding us in needed to calm down a little. Liked that even though there were a huge number of people, our individual tour guide kept us engaged.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum: what do users think?

Cat Lady: This is a must see for everyone! This museum is huge! It encompasses this history of aviation in America and around the world. That particular day the museum was super crowded yet we were able to navigate it due to its size and organization of the exhibits. In regards to being accessible it was well laid out and accessible for my scooter. The bathrooms were also easy to navigate. My one complaint is that they have a scattered array of benches. In some areas there are more than enough and in others there are no where near enough for those that may need to take a break and sit down. My favorite exhibit was the one on the space ship. I also like how they have ramps all throughout the building to be able to see the air craft from all levels. Two other areas that could improve are the fact that they do not have any cafe or place to have lunch. You can get popcorn and soda if you are seeing one of the IMAX movies. You could literally spend all day here and it would be nice if there is a place where you could get a small lunch. Also, they had a private event going on and had an area blocked off where visitors should be able to see. We literally had to go around the entire building to get to the other side. They could’ve made a path for visitors to get through without having to run a marathon to see everything. This really is a great place to visit and it’s pretty amazing that these exhibits are over flow from the other museum.

Brandy Hoegg (Brandy Hoegg): What a great museum in the city to enjoy. If you love history and space, you should definitely check out the museum. A lot of exhibits were closed, however there was still plenty to do including watching the Discovery launch, touching a piece of the moon, reading about what happens to your body when you go to space, seeing space toilets, and different countries astronaut gear. There is an interactive exhibit where you can choose to ride in a space ship and complete a VR( virtual reality) experience, fly your own craft or ride a roller coaster… the prices for this ranged from $8.00 to $12.00 per person. Don’t forget to stop by the gift shop and get your very own space suit, hat or mission patches for your backpack!! No tickets are required, however we waited an hour and a half in line to get into the museum.

Maya: I love it here !!! This was me and my husband’s first time visiting and we enjoyed ourselves. This is definitely a museum to bring your family , kids would love it and it’s very educational. They have stimulation rides for adults and children . There will be new exhibits in 2022 and they’re renovating as well so definitely go visit now and in the future.

Nik Kei: Going through a renovation so many areas are closed off and displays have been removed. It’s Great to see the our proud history of space travel and it was intriguing but far from my favorite museum. Talk to the guides. They are a wealth of information and very interesting facts.

Anthony Steele: Always a good place to check out. The exhibits are good to check out and see firsthand. A few places were roped off when we went. But still had a good time visiting. One of the most convenient museums on the national mall in my opinion.

Ganindu Madhawa: Absolutely a wonderful place to go through the development and astonishing discoveries in the Aviation industry and space exploration. You literally can just walk through the meuseum in 3-4 hrs but it would definitely take an entire session of the day to go through it worthfully. There are enough and more informative leaflets and virtual experience inside the meuseum. I loved walking inside the space shuttle and Touching the moonstone fragments. 😁

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History: what do users think?

Luke Chang: Free museum. Great for kids. Lots of interesting exhibits. I went during Cherry Blossom 🌸 peak week so it was pretty crowded on a Saturday. I spent 3+ hours exploring. There’s 3 floors. Definitely recommend. There something for everyone.

Ashok Patel: This is one of the most visited and most popular museums in the world and it’s free (of course from our tax money). The museum has the largest natural history collection (145 million specimens) in the world. It is really interesting, informative and fun to delve into the story of our planet from the beginning and how the life evolved over a period of time. There are excellent exhibits for kids as well for all ages of people. Unfortunately, there is no public parking facility there. If you are lucky, you may get the metered parking otherwise you have to park in the commercial parking garages nearby. There is nice cafeteria with great food in the museum. There are lots of food trucks outside the museum serving variety of food. I loved the exhibit of minerals and gems. There are so amazing pieces of gems and rocks, I bet you have never seen before. There is so much to see that you can’t finish in one day. Some of the exhibits we even didn’t explore due to time constraints. But we will definitely go back and enjoy the same or remaining exhibits. It was busy but not too crowded, we didn’t have to fight for the space. May be it was a weekday, so it wasn’t too bad. This is a must see attraction in Washington DC.

Sassy Sauce: Great museum for kids and adults. We went on the weekend and it was packed with people but we were able to move around with moderate congestion. The gift store was reasonable and there was some unique items available. For the little ones, I would bring a stroller if you’re up to pushing it because their legs will get tired. There were places to sit but they weren’t plentiful. The food court was open but we didn’t purchase anything. You can bring your own goods and water inside the museum. There is plenty to see and read for everyone. Highly recommend for families with small kids (probably 2 and up)

Ken Miyakawa: For me was the most impressive collections of specimens from around the world I was able to see I can spend the whole day in here and not be able to watch everything. The dinosaurs bones was my favorite part this place is definitely for the whole family and I will strongly recommend to visit it! This will be in my top five favorite museums for sure. The only thing is they close at 5:30 pm I wish they close later because I will need at least Two full days to cover the whole place.

bEp pen: Great museum, fun and informative for all ages, children and adults alike. So much to see. Give yourself a few hours to take in how much there is here. In addition to the Hope Diamond, there is an extensive gem and minerals exhibit. There is something for everyones interest. Best of all, the admission is free! We had planned on seeing both the Natural History museum and the American History Museums of the Smithsonian, but had time for just one that day. Will go back and do the same to properly explore just as we did at the Natural History Museum. It is centrally located from the other Smithsonian museums and very close walk to Smithsonian Metro Station.

Lu: First time in D.C. and loved visiting this museum. Spent 3hrs here enjoying the exhibits. Nice that it’s free so anyone can go to enjoy learning something new. Gift shop is a must too! If you do make the trip I’d say bring a snack or lunch if you don’t feel like buying food there. Unfortunately the Space and air museum was closed due to construction when I was there.

World War II Memorial: what do users think?

Sheri Lucas: I wish there were more than 5 stars. This was an amazing museum with so much to see. They had something for everyone-exhibits, videos, real hero’s stories to follow. There is so much to do that we did not get through it all. I recommend planning on 4-6 hours of you want to take it all in. I highly recommend taking in the movie “Beyond all Boundaries”. Our kids were fully engaged and were taking it all in. They stopped and read more than they have at other museums.

Tarang Srivastava: It’s a must visit monument and has got spectacular views on both sides: you see the Washington Memorial on one side and the Lincoln Memorial on the other side. Interesting to see all the states with wreaths in the architecture. The water and springs were shut perhaps for the winter, I hope they will soon be operational as it is March already and quite nice and sunny. You have to find parking on Constitution Avenue which is indeed quite difficult. But once you park, it’s a nice walk and worth visiting for sure.

Dr Abhilash Mohapatra: If you are in DC then this is a most visit monument and has got spectacular views on both sides Washington Memorial on one side and the Lincoln Memorial on the other side. The water and springs were spectacular. It’s a nice walk and worth visiting for sure.

Sam Buck: Amazing architectural structure and memorial for a war worth fighting for. Such an incredible display representing the US states and territories. The fountain is perfect for keeping you cool on a hot summer day!

Ryan: The World War II Memorial is probably my favorite memorial in DC. It looks amazing on a sunny day! I went there recently, as well as about a year ago, you can see in the photos one rainy day and one sunny day. Anyway, I feel like this memorial is an amazing way to honor those who died in WWII. There is so much symbolism here as well as in every memorial in DC.

Ashok Patel: As name suggests, this memorial is built in the honor of 16 million Americans who served in the armed forces or as civilians during World War 2. The memorial has 56 pillars which represent US states and territories surrounding a fountain. World War 2 memorial is in the National Mall between Lincoln memorial and Washington Monument. Since it is between these two important memorials, the uninterrupted view is broken. There is a Freedom Wall on the west side of the plaza with a message “Here we mark the price of the freedom”. Each pillar is inscribed with the name of one of the states or territories. When we visited on April 21, 2022 the fountain was not working. I believe some construction or maintenance work was going on. So we missed the experience of full on beauty of the memorial. This is a must see place when you are visiting Washington DC.

LISA HANEY: SuchA BEAUTIFUL tribute to our WWll veterans. The park has plenty of places to sit and one can even walk through the water in the fountain. You need to see this specular display!

Jenna McKinney: Stunning display of architecture. Fountains. And the breadth of the human commitment to the great wars. From here you can see the Monument, the Reflection Pool and Lincoln Memorial.

National Museum of the American Indian: what do users think?

Cat Lady: The museum and its contents were well worth seeing. There are four floors of exhibits, a cafe (see my other review), a gift shop, and various education rooms. The accessibility leaves a bit to be desired. First, although there are some benches throughout the museum, there are not enough! I can’t say this enough, for anyone who has limited mobility, we need benches to be able to enjoy the exhibits. Also, the website does say there are complimentary wheelchairs on the first come first serve basis. I finally broke down and bought a scooter so I did not need that, but this museum is very large and if you struggle with mobility you will need it. That being said, the museum is so large it easily accommodated my scooter. I had no problem getting around and I was able to easily see the exhibits. The gift shop was ok. There was a lot of jewelry in it and a good selection of gifts. I thought it was very pricey and there was not a great selection of books. Finally, be prepared there is no parking at the museum. We lucked out and found street parking right out front. Also, when you enter you will need to go through a metal detector and they will search your bags. I have metal implants in my back so they had to use the wand to check me. They were all very nice. This museum is worth the trip!

Credible Critic: A very large museum, telling stories about the the indigenous people of North America. Its four floors with the open atrium at the center provides a grandeur for the museum, matching the beauty of the building from the outside. The exhibits tell the stories of many lives in the tribes, and what is the meaning of being Indians over many years in America.

Alexander Johnston: Great exhibits about the history and culture of the Indigenous peoples of North America, with a primary focus on their history from the 1600s to present day. Gift shop has plenty of accessories, clothing, literature and cultural items for purchase. Went on a Sunday, afternoon; not too crowded.

Amy Tucker: We thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this museum. Immediately when we walked in we were welcomed by a person at the information counter. He told us all about the exciting special exhibit we were going to get to view and where to look out for special details throughout. Around every corner was another fascinating, breath taking, confounding display. Do not miss this museum if you make it to DC. See our video of the museum on YouTube LINKINBIO

Vivian Pitts: A must see! Fun for children of all ages. Elevators available, so it was handicap accessible. We saw art and heard stories from various tribes. We went as a group and the kids loved it!

TimYeh: A must visit place! It is extremely sad to learn about the Act of Removal, trails of Tears and many other injustices that happened to the Americans!! At the end it teaches us a lot..!! The gift shop is full of art and wisdom..bought a book!! We have to learn so much from them! Disney has to be mindful of the words "savages" I found it very offensive while watching Pocahontas

US Capitol Grounds: what do users think?

Ashok Patel: The 58 acre very well maintained park immediately surrounding the US Capitol building is known as US Capitol Grounds. The green lush park-like setting looks beautiful against the Capitol building and National Mall. The grounds is bordered by stone wall. Different types of trees and bushes are grown in the grounds with curved walkways. Many trees on the Capitol grounds have memorial associations. Leisurely walk around the world power center to explore the beauty of the Capitol building is great experience. The entry to the Capitol building is closed for the general public but walking up to the steps of this symbolically most important and impressive public building of United States and the world is great opportunity. After six months of enhanced security measures, finally the fence is down and people can now visit the Capitol grounds.

Greggory Ring: Had a great tour of the Capital grounds. We made arrangements with the Arizona Rep, to show us around. Small group of 14 people. Really enjoyed it.

pdnapora: Great FREE hour long tour of the Capitol Bldg. Funny and knowledgeable tour guide. Not rushed and plenty of restrooms. Reservations are required and quite limited, so plan ahead. 3 weeks for the WH.

Emily: Super cool!! A great place to get the best picture is on the right or left stairs of the capital!!

Lou Fegans: As of July 2021 the Capitol Grounds are open! Beautiful, well manicured grounds with stunning views of both the Capitol Building and the National Mall. West Lawn: great views down the mall, overlooking the Washington Monument and the National Mall. Best spot for photos in the evening, and great place to watch the sunset. At the end of the lawn is the capitol reflecting pool. Provides great photos of the capitol reflecting in the water. East Lawn: paved area with iconic steps leading up to each chamber. This is also the primary entrance for visitors to the Capitol at the Capitol Visitors Center. Best spot for photos in the mornings. North/South lawn: beautiful gardens and shady sidewalks. Note the walk around the capitol is very steep. Tip: you can reserve tickets to visit the Capitol with the Capitol Visitors Center or reach out in advance to your representatives for a more intimate tour of the Capitol. If you did not arrange a tour in advance you can stop by any Congressional office to pick up chamber passes. These passes will get you into the building and allow you to sit in the chambers and watch the proceedings. You will not have a guide but will be able to be in the building on your own.

US Navy Memorial Plaza: what do users think?

Raymond Ellis: The Plaza and Visitor Center museum were both interesting places to visit. The Memorial includes the Lone Sailor statue, World Map and plaques highlighting important historical events in Navy history. The Visitor Center museum had many interesting artifacts, models and exhibits on display. I especially liked the Zumwalt exhibit and the Lone Sailor Award exhibit. It was interesting to see how many non-military celebrities there were that served in the Navy.

JOSEPH LEONGUERRERO: Lots of informative displays and placards inside and outside. Great place to take pictures.

Susie Anson: RIP Dad and Uncle Eddie 😘 The Navy was your calling. This place is the keeper of the original Lone Sailor. A must to see. The Granite sea of continents is amazing.

Dan Fox: If you are a navy vet, you will be very impressed. Lots of navel history to see at this location.

Theresa Slaughter: Come out and enjoy a night under the Stars with the Navy Band. Two shows left.. August 17 and August 24 @ 7:00 pm.

James Walker: This location is across from the National Archives, is free and open for public viewing. Has names and sculptures of great Sailors, the likes of John Paul Jones. Also within a couple of blocks and view of Smithsonian American Arts Museum and National Portrait Gallery.

International Spy Museum: what do users think?

Klau Pao: We booked our tickets a month in advanced, they were $26 per person and there is a minor wait time when you arrive. You go up in an elevator and they give you a fun and cool welcome, then a code that you have to decipher throughout the museum. The museum is not too big but you still need plenty of time, there is so much to read and see, it is so cool and educational. I highly recommend it!!!

The Maldonado’s: This place is amazing, full of eye opening information, and more. We watch the movie first, and then we were given a game mission. Kids, and kids like (me) love it. You’ll start from the top level and work yourself down to the shop. The shop is book heavy for the readers like me, but it has other stuff like shirts , mugs, and more. Modern and clean bathrooms on the back of the display rooms at all levels. Come with time, it is busy and there is a lot to look at. Drop a comment if I missed something.

Al Liang: they said the recommended time to spend here is 2 hours when we entered, but we ended up staying for 7.5 hours because I read every single piece of text in the building. definitely recommend getting early tickets if you want to devour the entire museum’s content. a really fun and interesting time delving into the history of espionage and related topics!

Stephen Postier: The museum and history part was fantastic. We gave up on the interactive spy mission pretty early, as the lines for the computers for each part were pretty long. If you have kids that are into mysteries like that, it would be worth it, but plan for plenty of time (3+ hours). Otherwise the exhibits were great and you could easily visit this museum without completing the interactive part.

Lori Petersen: Wow!!! So much fun. Interactive screens to "test" your skills. So cool. Definitely wish the no stroller rule would have been followed. We spent about 4 hours!!! Awesome for older kids!

Inna Rudenko: It’s a very interesting place! Lots of stories about spies around the world! Real people, real life… During your trip you are involved to be a part of spy mission! We like it! Don’t forget there are two floors and takes around 3-4 hours to explore it!

Smithsonian Castle: what do users think?

Madhu Kalepu: Great Place to spend few hours for relaxing views in the heart of DC! Stunning architecture. Entry is free, street parking is likely impossible to get. We have parked 0.6 miles away from this place! But the walking is worth it as you can explore DC.

DENISSE GOMEZ: Interesting building with lots of things to see inside and outside. Right now they have real-life size 3D printed sculptures of notorious women in different areas of expertise. Definitely worth a visit! Restrooms available (very clean)

Skhye Walden: Beautiful, educational and free! Great place to take the family. They had a gift shop and cafe area but they were closed around the time I went.

Josiah Keilson: Arguably one of the most beautiful buildings in DC. The gardens are great to explore and you can do a full walk through of the grounds pretty quickly (under 15 minutes). Beautiful all times of year, but spring and winter (especially after snow) is when I most recommend stopping by!

Tyler Harris: Struggling with rating this 4 or 5 stars (went with 5 so it helped the overall Smithsonian brand). Absolutely beautiful architecture and the grounds are phenomenal as well. They are especially nice in the cooling season of September. Only reason I was leaning towards a 4 is that everything inside the castle is either closed or a restaurant right now. There is a visitor center there but when I went in on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm there was nobody at the desk. So in 2021 if you are going for the grounds and the scenery, it is a must-see 👀...if you want see exhibits, hit up a different venue.
