River Farm: what do users think?

Haley Day: Such a wonderful place to walk around and enjoy the scenery, the grounds are so beautiful! You cannot beat this location, it is safe and the parking is easy. As a photographer I love to bring my clients here for sessions (they offer permits!) and I cannot wait to shoot a wedding here!

Louise Watts: Unexpected pleasure on a beautiful day. This was George Washington"s "side" farm and overlooks the Potomac, just like Mount Vernon. There are gardens, bowers, nooks, vistas, even rocking chairs on the porch of the mansion: perfect spot to a make a memory. The iron gates are re-purposed from the original White House. Easy paths, accessible, and a wide open space if children need to let off a little steam.

Matthew Hanna: This was a nice visit for acquiring plants for our home gardening. This place looks nice to visit again for the river view.

Rev. Christine Mcgunigale: What a beautiful location to get married. You will love the staff there

Theodore Shiveley: Being a big fan of all the member gardens of the American Horticultural Society, I guess I thought that the gardens here would be more intensly curated, but while the displays are definitely deliberately planned, the feel of them is different from other Botanical gardens. The grounds invite wandering and interaction with them closer to a park like what someone could have at their home as opposed to the elaborate beds and bright colors at larger garden exhibits. Very nice location. The big Bodark tree (Osage Orange) was my favorite part.

District Winery: what do users think?

Josh Griff: Had the dessert wine and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese had tomato jam which was sweet and tasty. The dessert wine was crisp and not too overly sweet. We sat at the bar and were served fairly quick and was a nice snack before the Nationals game. There was a wedding and a bridal shower going on at the same time while we were there too.

Kimberly Humphries: Excellent customer service thank you Terry and Lauren. Let me start off by saying this place is clean, classy, and has an amazing Ambience. I am a person who appreciates a good wine. Lauren was our host for the tour she explained in detail about the different wines so that you will get a clear understanding of how to pick your wine choices. This place is inexpensive and everyone is welcome. Everyone was dressed very tasteful and professional. They offer different packages that are all great. I’m so glad I got to experience a wine tasting in the city which gave me so much knowledge and education. Pay to park is available right next to the winery. They are close to the water front, you can walk and enjoy after the tasting and get a beautiful view of the city. There are so many nice shops and restaurants near by. For people who can not go to a winery far away. This place is truly a jewel.

Daniel Thomas: First off, District Winery is a showcase of modern 2010s design - steel/glass plate windows from floor to ceiling/clean design/quirky modern art on the walls. I mean this as a compliment - it is light and airy as a result with a self assured air. The service was fantastic - from the front staff to our waiter Xavier. We ordered the flights and bites: the fried Brussels sprouts, the curried cauliflower, and the grilled cheese. As you can see, the food is very well presented. It is essentially basics elevated by presentation. A buttered grilled cheese with tomato, cheese, basil (essentially a pizza in sandwich form), the Brussels sprouts were well done and tasty, although I could have appreciated some more kick/tang - little dry. The cauliflower was also a little dry and not particularly “curried” although the cornbread with chutney was a nice counterpoint. It just was a little bland. As for the wines, I found them to be fairly one-note - these are on the dry and light side. This is more a personal preference - I prefer less dry, full bodied wines. Having said that, this would be a great place to go for a happy hour - the location in the Navy Yard overlooking the water is gorgeous. This is a place I would return to to socialize, but I think the food doesn’t quite compete with the area’s other options.

Noa Vermaak: Our waitress Alexandra (Alex) today was amazing! She was super kind/funny and attentive. we ordered 2 Rosé, but after we ordered it we figured a bottle would be better. She left one full glas for me to taste and just brought the bottle. No extra charges! Those are the little things a guest will remember. The food here is also amazing and so was our wine. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy a sunny afternoon at District Winery

Parker Kelley: Great food & atmosphere! We made a reservation on a Friday at 7:00. We arrived and were immediately seated. Our amazing server Morgan took great care of us & recommend great drinks. For starters we got the chicken bites (must try) and the brussel sprouts ! The surrounding area was very busy & finding parking was a challenge.

Marie Pierce: I would totally recommend the date night for two. The entire staff was so nice. We had so much fun with our wine guide Laura and lucked out that it was only us in the tasting room. Laura was knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all of our questions and more.

Alan Richardson: Had a great summer works picnic the food was good and the staff were always happy, The only downside was the toilets otherwise a great place.

Lindsay Hubbart: We came with a school group of 8th graders. They loved it! Played all the sports and games and then danced til we left. Great stop and great dinner!

Veronica Forbes: My husband and I went here for a crab feast.. we have been to this place about 2 times now..staff was very pleasant and friendly. Food was descent.. the corn on the cob is everything and the crabs were nice and meaty and seasoned well.. the music was a nice variety. There are tables inside and out so plenty room for seating..Would recommend and definitely will be gone going back.

Dean Phillips: Always a treat for the school groups of middle schoolers! Food is fabulous - especially the charcoal-baked pies! And the unlimited sports activities combine nicely with the DJ’s the groups hire.

Madelyn Asisi: This place is great for large gatherings and family picnics. They do all the cooking! We really enjoyed the food and will come back.

Tom Bonbrest: Great job for the Stearns event on the 15th May

The Barns At Wolf Trap: what do users think?

Tyler Harris: I was very impressed with this venue. First it is aesthetically magnificent, especially inside. There is ample parking for what the venue holds, which is quite a novelty for most music venues. The Barn serves a small menu of appetizers+ type fare. Although I did not have any, it looked pretty good. The acoustics inside the Barn are perfect for mid-range type music. I doubt they would have a rock concert in here but it is perfect for classical or folk music. Overall, a great experience.

: Great venue for live music! Not knowing what to expect, we arrived early. The health check station was really fast. Prior to arriving I completed my check on the Clear app and my wife had a photo of her vaccine card. After the health check, we were able to get some drinks and sit in the Cafe before the concert started. The food and drink prices were more "movie theater" type prices than "Ritz Carlton Resort" prices. The seating was not as cramped as I expected and the sound engineer did a great job with the acoustics. Definitely looking forward to going again.

Don Malnati: Very interesting place to have a concert! A big barn with wood beams and old wood siding. But the sound was very good, and we could see the stage well. We saw the international guitar show, which was great! Highly recommended.

John Lintner: Awesome place for live music. Small venue which makes it more memorable. They have some food and drinks for sale and a bunch of tables to sit at (no food allowed in the performance area).

Sue MacLane: Great venue for shows. Impressed with the Covid vax check before entering. Love the annual comedy show. Expanded seating for food is nice.

Claudia S. Nelson, Realtor Woodbridge VA: I love going to concerts at WolfTrap. This was my first time at the Barns for a private event. Loved it. Great location and venue.

Katie Dell: We saw a small performance here. The venue is beautiful and the sound is great. It is a nice intimate space but the chairs are quite uncomfortable. The food was also mediocre and overpriced as you would expect. Ticket prices were reasonable.

Greg Hernandez: This is absolutely a fantastic venue to see musical groups in Northern Virginia. The sound system is superb, and the acoustics are marvelous.

Samantha Hess: Beautiful, rustic feeling concert venue. Small portion of the size of the Filene center perfect for more intimate concerts.

Sylvanside Farm: what do users think?

Carretta Family: Terri & Jeff are great hosts and the farm is exactly as described. All household items you could need are provided. The house was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family of five. The beds & bedding were comfortable. If you are looking for a country get-a-way to escape from the city, this is it! All of the animals were nice and friendly to our children. The chickens, ducks and farm dog walked around freely and our kids loved interacting with them. Terri let our boys pick eggs everyday, and feed the pig. It’s beautiful farm with great scenery and great hosts. We will be visiting again.

Julia Moline: What an incredible venue! We LOVED our experience with Sylvanside. The venue is absolutely beautiful–we were blown away from our first visit, and the wedding day was no different. We felt so lucky and excited both to get married in such an idyllic setting AND to be able to bring all of our family and friends out to experience its beauty. It meant so much to us that we got to take advantage of so many of the beautiful spaces over the course of the day. A few things appealed to us in planning (and didn’t disappoint!). We really wanted to get married outside but also wanted to be sure there was an easy rain plan. Sylvanside has multiple indoor spaces that mean there’s little to stress about, even if there is a last minute change. The outdoor nature of the venue and very well-ventilated barn also set our minds at ease while COVID rates were surging. The fact that Sylvanside has much of what you need already (including tables and chairs) limited both the expense and the number of decisions we had to make in planning. And their pre-approved list of vendors saved us a lot of work in narrowing down our options and gave us confidence that we were working with excellent vendors. They were also super helpful in bringing shuttles in to help get our guests to and from the venue. A fantastic experience all around–highly recommend!

Kelli Jones: Staying here far exceeded expectations for our girls weekend getaway! Our hosts were extremely responsive before, during and after our stay. The cottage was immaculate and well appointed. The attention to detail was very much appreciated with little touches everywhere to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The entire property is oozing with charm. Ducks and chickens wander around, as well two of the sweetest pups! The big pig was in his shelter, but I spent a lot of time with the horses. The barns, pond and greenspace dedicated to weddings/events are absolutely stunning and tranquil -- straight out of a Hallmark movie! The main barn is huge, and little chat areas are set up along the perimeter and a large bar and dance floor. You feel like you are in a different world. Our group cannot WAIT to go back!

Golf P: We had our wedding here and it was such a beautiful venue! The views you get from this place just takes your breath away. Terri and Jeff are both great hosts and also very accommodating to make your day truly your special day. Amelia, our wedding coordinator, was the greatest. She made sure we were as stress free as possible by keeping track of our timeline and guests and taking care of everything. The Sylvanside team all worked together to bring our vision for our special day alive!

Danielle Price: Sylvanside Farm is such a beautiful location - and an especially amazingly perfect location for portrait photos. The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this location for anyone looking for a wedding venue or for a stunning backdrop for your portrait photos during their off-wedding season. Oh, and if you get a chance, stop by and buy some of their honey - it is so tasty!!

Laila Bolsteins: It is truly hard to even put into words how truly incredible our wedding weekend was thanks to Terri & Jeff. From the very beginning of our planning process we felt welcome and taken care of every step of the way. The farm itself is truly the most beautiful sight and we could not imagine having our wedding at more beautiful place. Friends and family are raving a week later about Sylvanside and its natural beauty. I would live this day over and over again if I could and Sylvanside ( + Jeff & Terri!) are at the very core of that magical day. We are counting down the days until we can visit again. A remarkable farm that will forever hold a special place in my heart.

M S P S: Oh how I wish more of my friends were in the wedding phase of their lives because I need many more reasons to visit Sylvanside! We enjoyed the cottage after a rough week of work. We left the farm feeling completely recharged and eager to return. Their plush beds caused our entire family to sleep in, which never happens. The day flew by as we explored the property and visited with the friendly owners. We were amazed by the craftsmanship and care taken to restore the barns and the impeccable taste of the interior designer. The Hunt Box is a sight to behold inside & out.

Tranquility Farm: what do users think?

Hailey F: My husband and I got married in August at Tranquility Farm and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect wedding venue. Suzanne is the kindest person ever who went above and beyond to make sure we had a once in a lifetime weekend. The property has so many amazing spots to use which was key for us considering we had a three day wedding- rehearsal dinner on Friday, American wedding on Saturday, and Indian wedding on Sunday. We used the patio behind the house for a beautiful rehearsal dinner and had a pizza truck set up on the gravel roundabout in front of the house. My bridesmaids slept over with me the night before my American wedding in the stunning house, which was the best! Plus, it saved me money on not needing a bridal suite at a hotel. Our American wedding and cocktail hour was up by the silo, and the reception was in the barn. We also had a mehndi (henna artists) in the lower level of the barn during the reception. For our Indian wedding we got married in the grass by the barn and had our reception in the barn. Everything was absolutely perfect and our guests kept commenting on how gorgeous Tranquility was. It felt like a destination wedding but with the convenience of DC! Plus, my parents and grandparents stayed in the upper house which they were so happy with that way they didn’t need to take a bus back to the hotel. Choosing Tranquility was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and I hope to stay in touch with Suzanne!

Jermonica Davis: Love At First Sight My husband and I have been happily married for 25 years. We recently decided to renew our vows. We decided to venture out on a Sunday to look at venues. I called Tranquility the Friday before to schedule time to visit the venue. Upon arrival we were agreed Tranquility was beautiful. After the tour we fell in love with Tranquility, but Suzanne was the cherry on top. My husband became her biggest fan on that day. She answered all 100 of his questions with ease and assured him the he would enjoy the Tranquility experience. Before leaving the venue we knew that Tranquility was where we wanted to renew our vows. Unlike other venues, you have the opportunity to rent the entire farm and enjoy the entire experience. The manor house is absolutely stunning. It was wonderful to host brunch for my bridesmaids there. The silo is breathtaking. We used the silo for sunset pictures as well a cozy after party to include smores and hot chocolate. The barn is mesmerizing. We had an outdoor ceremony and the reception was inside the barn. It was so rustic, yet so romantic. We used the downstairs for a little girls getaway. We had out of town guest that enjoyed a very relaxing stay in the guest house. Great memories were made here that will last us a lifetime. Last but not least, Suzanne was a pleasure to work with. She was very flexible, accommodating and attentive to our every need. She was very responsive, even taking my calls during her well-deserved vacation with family. I always felt comfortable talking to Suzanne. She made us feel warm and welcomed. I highly recommend Tranquility farm to any couple that desires to step outside of the ordinary and dance under the stars of extraordinary.

Dana Campo: My husband and I fell in love with Tranquility Farm the first time we saw it! The property is absolutely gorgeous and the house is spectacular! We rented the property out for 48 hours which was perfect! We were able to relax and take our time getting ready. Suzanne was incredibly accommodating and flexible. She allowed us to go on property a couple of times before the wedding to check out the space some more, which really helped with planning. She also recently made updates to the barn such as air conditioning and access to the downstairs (as a backup plan for rain). Suzanne allowed us to have our after party at the silo, which ended up being beautiful and a ton of fun! There are so many great spaces on the property which really allows you to customize the wedding - we were originally planning on having the ceremony on the back patio, cocktail hour in the courtyard, ceremony in the barn, and after party at the silo. The threat of rain made us set up a tent and have the ceremony in the courtyard, which actually turned out to be beautiful! We had the cocktail hour inside the house, which is very pretty, historical, and nicely decorated. Suzanne is very flexible, which helped so much in the planning. The barn is perfect for dinner & dancing.

Tanya Bellingham: We were lucky enough to host our wedding at Tranquility Farms in October 2018. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the venue and accommodations provided by Suzanne. We used both houses on the property to lodge both the bride and groom parties. Our vision for our wedding was a little nontraditional for what tranquility usually offers, but Suzanne and our vendors were more than willing to work with us to ensure it was our perfect day. Suzanne went out of her way to make availability for site visits and very responsive to answer any of our questions. Both houses were comfortable and clean. The main house was beautiful and a great place for the bridal party to get ready. The kitchens were fully equipped to make breakfast and lunch the day of. We also held our rehearsal dinner onsite in the barn, which was perfect. On the day of, the weather was in the 40s and initially we were concerned that the barn would be cold, but it turned out to be very comfortable. Just one small piece of advice, Loudoun County has different restrictions of who is eligible to marry you, so I would double check! Overall Suzanne is a great host, very friendly and accommodating! The venue is beautiful. The houses are clean and comfortable. Wish we could do the weekend again!

Eva Hicks: Tranquility Farm was an absolute dream! Our wedding perfect was everything we dreamed of and so much of it was because we were able to gather our friends and family at this beautiful venue and spend so much quality time together.

Kathryn Lawless: We heard of this venue from some good friends, looked at the pictures online, and went for a tour. As we traveled to the tour, I was oddly a bit nervous, but by the time I met Suzanne and walked around Tranquility Farm, I felt a sense of calm. This venue was the only and last venue we looked at. It was for us, we knew it. This venue not only allows your closest humans to be with you an entire weekend, but Suzanne ensures your event goes off without a hitch. She is insanely accommodating and gives her house and land to you to make whatever kind of magic you want to happen. I am so grateful to have found this venue and Suzanne! Also, get walkie talkies and golf carts- it made our weekend that more fun and efficient!

Blue Hill Farm B&B & Wedding Venue: what do users think?

sarah bever: Best wedding venue in Northern Virginia!! My husband and I were looking at various wedding venues in the NOVA area and ended up staying at Blue Hill’s Bed and Breakfast while we were shopping around some of the wineries. As soon as we heard that Blue Hill also hosted weddings, we were sold. The property is absolutely stunning with views of rolling hills, accented by tons of beautiful flowers and trees, a charming carriage house, and all the space you need to create the wedding of your dreams. In addition, Waldo and Shirley are the most gracious and thoughtful hosts who are dedicated to helping you have a perfect day. My husband and I had a very specific vision for what we wanted to do – from the food to the décor – so another big selling point for us was that Blue Hill offered flexibility (rather than other venues that felt like “wedding factories” who had limitations when it came to vendors, timing, etc.). Speaking of flexibility – we were one of the many couples who had to reschedule our wedding due to covid and Waldo and Shirley were so understanding and patient as we shifted our plans. It could have been a very stressful scenario, but we were able to keep all our plans intact and just shift our date to 2021. Our actual wedding day was picture perfect and I can honestly say that I had zero stress the entire day. Waldo and Shirley were very involved with our plans and have an organized system for keeping tabs on all the details to help things go flawlessly. The venue itself is breathtaking and our guests commented on how beautiful and relaxing the property is. You have tons of options for where to host the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and take photos so it is ideal for tailoring each of your wedding events to exactly what you envision. I truly feel like we got married at a family friend’s property – Shirley and Waldo made us feel very at home (from the first day we visited to the final sparkler send off on our wedding day) and helped us plan and execute an amazing wedding. Thank you, Blue Hill, for helping us host a very happy, lovely wedding!

Hannah Bjorndal: Gorgeous wedding venue with lovely views and an amazing cocktail hour space! Our wedding photography team (LVERphoto.com) are HUGE fans of this beautiful, peaceful wedding venue! Blue Hill has a classic garden party style - not too rustic or country. It has so much space around the property, and they have the most lovely little patio for cocktail hour with string lights! This is a great place to transition to dancing after dinner as well. We had so much fun shooting a wedding in the fall of 2019 at this quaint venue! Highly recommend to engaged couples!

Mikhail Lumanlan: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessShirley and Waldo were very responsive whenever we had questions. They’re great at their craft and the quality of the venue shows in all of the photos. The guests really enjoyed the place and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to get married at.

Kelsey Blongewicz: Blue Hill Farm is a gorgeous venue and was the perfect setting for our June wedding! We loved the quintessential Virginia views, the beautiful farm and farmhouse, the proximity to Leesburg, and the comfortable and welcoming feeling of Blue Hill Farm. Shirley and Waldo went above and beyond to make sure everything turned out the way we wanted and were very accommodating and reassuring. We appreciated the flexibility they offered in planning a wedding that fit our size (75 people), let us use the vendors we wanted, took advantage of different parts of the property so that our guests could spread out, and, most importantly, felt personal to us. Picking a wedding venue was a big decision and we have no regrets. Highly recommend Blue Hill Farm!

Kristen Tharpe: This venue was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. We wanted a rustic/barn style wedding and it turned out AMAZING. The owners are very personable and willing to work with you to make your special day truly special! The venue offers beautiful decorations to be used including handmade farm tables, whiskey barrels, cocktail tables, arches, lanterns, etc. Our wedding was planned also in the midst of the pandemic and they were incredibly flexible and willing to work with us to pick a new date for our wedding. We could not be happier with how everything turned out! We highly recommend this venue!

Frank DiPascali: We had our wedding at Waldo and Shirley’s property in August 2021. We can’t say enough good things about how Waldo and Shirley made our entire wedding experience wonderful. The property and house is beautiful, and Waldo and Shirley go above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. Highly recommend Blue Hill Farm for a wedding or special event (or a quiet weekend getaway)! Thanks to Waldo and Shirley for an awesome wedding weekend and everything leading up to it.

Lauxmont Farms Weddings: what do users think?

Michelle Mathason Brown: When we first pulled up to tour the Cobblestone Courtyard, we knew (even in the January snow) that this is the place we wanted to get married. It is so unique and charming! We also loved how flexible Lauxmont was with vendors (while still providing an excellent list of recommendations) since it was important to us to incorporate the talents of our family and friends. The entire team at Lauxmont was so prompt and friendly answering all of my emails in the months leading up to the wedding. The day of, the staff was incredibly helpful to the groom and groomsmen in getting everything set up. I could not recommend Lauxmont enough to any couple looking for a beautiful venue and amazing staff!

Rachel Burns: We got married at the Cobblestone Courtyard—the PERFECT venue. It was an absolute dream and was the best day ever! Lauxmont really does such a great job with upkeep of this beautiful space! At the wedding itself, I had 3-4 people there at all times until late. Even at the end of the wedding, we still had 1 assistant with us. We really felt supported and they helped out tremendously with day of tasks! Such an amazing team and family running this beautiful venue(s). I would recommend Lauxmont Farms to any bride!!!

Ronica Good: Getting married at Lauxmont was a dream! It was always easy to reach out to them for questions & they always were happy to help. I never felt like an inconvenience & our day was stress free! Not to mention the location is absolutely beautiful. We got married at the Sunken Gardens & loved every moment of our day. 10/10 would recommend to any couple looking for a unique & breathtaking wedding experience.

Megan Holmes: When Donny and I first pulled up to Lauxmont Farms, we instantly knew this was the spot we wanted to get married! This dreamy location that overlooks the Susquehanna (The Rotunda) also had incredible staff who literally bent over backwards to make our dreams come true, and we’ve since learned it’s a trend at their weddings! They’ll get what you need no matter what and they’re a dream to work with! The venue was about 1.5 hours from where most of our friends and family came from, but we heard over and over again that once they drove up even to the parking lot, they knew EXACTLY why we chose this venue instead of one closer to home. I’ve even had people asking me about Lauxmont since the wedding day! If I had to replan my wedding, I would choose Lauxmont again every single time.

Rischelle Polakoff: Polakoff/Griffin Wedding 11/6/21 We got married last November at the Japanese Gardens, one of the many beautiful locations contained within the Lauxmont Farms campus. To say everything was perfect, would be an understatement. From the top-notch customer service (and having direct interactions with ownership), the Lauxmont team went above and beyond to ensure that our special day was truly special! The scenery around the entire property is breathtaking and the communication with the team was superb. We give them the highest ranking possible because well, they deserve it! Thank you Lauxmont!

Kelli James: Lauxmont Farms is absolutely dreamy, and I could not have imagined a more beautiful venue for my wedding. While each venue is unique and gorgeous in their own way, I chose the Rotunda for my July wedding. Everything was perfect. The staff was wonderful, helpful, and encouraging when I was fearing rain ruining my ceremony. Cecelia was particularly sweet. I loved the flexibility to use whatever vendors I wanted and the laid back atmosphere. The rolling hills, view of the Susquehanna River, horses (including a horse drawn carriage ride--I mean, come on!), and the charm of the Rotunda cannot be matched. Do not hesitate to book here!

Brooke Sides: My husband and I just got married at the Rotunda this past Saturday! We had the best day and all of our guests raved over the views and the beauty of the Rotunda! The staff was amazing to work with and were able to make my dreams a reality. They were great to work with from the start when we booked in 2020 and we will recommend this location to anyone looking to get married!

Fox Hollow Farm LLC: what do users think?

Kelly Pridgen: I highly recommend having your wedding/wedding reception at Fox Hollow Farm! They were incredible to work with and so accommodating. Any question we had, they got back to us in a timely manner. The place is so beautiful and there is plenty of space for everyone to mingle and party!

Frank Watson: The establishment is simply beautiful. Catered a wedding there on March 5 th. The place is huge. The grounds are well kept and the people that run the place are very nice. If you were looking for a place that can accommodate a small or a large wedding this is the place to go

Kayla Edwards: There are not enough wonderful things I can say about Gina and Suzanne at Fox Hollow Farm. From the initial consultation, I was treated as family. We walked through the venue and immediately felt a connection to it. The payments were easily handled and we were welcome to use any and everything that they had as decor already in the venue. I was able to bring family and my planner at different times (because of when they were able to come in town) and I had my bridal portraits done there as well. All of the coordinating for this was easy. The day before and day of the wedding, Suzanne was there for any and all questions. It was a dream place to have our wedding and we could not be more thankful for finding this wonderful venue.

Boyd (KO4GJO): Attended a wedding there. Excellent experience at a beautiful venue.

Bob Kimball: Fox Hollow Farm is a beautiful place. Tonight they allowed the WEE Club to hold an outdoor wine tasting class for Rose wines. The covered patio allowed for appropriate distancing and the weather cooperated - the rain storms cooled down to 75 and then passed. Great place for any event.

Ann Womack: The most beautiful venue! Gina and Suzanne keep it pristine and go above and beyond to create the best possible experience for your event!

Missy Keyes: It was my first time there and it was beautiful love the atmosphere for a wedding.

The Farmhouse: what do users think?

Natasha Silverberg: I can’t even begin to explain how amazing the farmhouse is. Everyone there is super helpful especially Laura. Me and my husband had our wedding there after having to postpone it for 2 and a half years because of Covid. Laura was extremely helpful when it came to planning and last minute preparations. I live in Arizona and it was super challenging to plan a wedding from across the country but Laura made it so much easier. I would 100% recommend the farmhouse to anyone!!

Annie Campbell: Words cannot even express how amazing our wedding day was on 5/22 at the Farmhouse. First off, our wedding coordinator, Laura, was a pleasure to work with. She helped us through every little detail and made the day so much less stressful. She made sure that we were both able to enjoy ourselves on our special day. She brought us drinks and made sure that we got a chance to eat. While we were planning there was a small issue with the liquor we wanted for our specialty drink and Laura went out of her way to get the specific liquor we asked for. Thank you so much Laura! As far as The Farmhouse, their wedding package was perfect for us. It was very inexpensive, but included so much. We got a full service photo booth, perfect ceremony site and amazing food and reception as well. The package also included real flower centerpieces by Belak Flowers and cake from Cakes by Kim. Both the flower and cake vendors did an amazing job at bringing everything to life. We highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a perfect wedding day on a budget!

Teri Hoopes: I cannot say enough about how happy we are about the decision we made to have our wedding at The Farmhouse! The venue is absolutely beautiful, and the food is delicious! What made our day absolutely perfect was the care that Katie took in every detail of planning our special day, and her absolute attentiveness to us through out the entire process and during our wedding and reception! I would give them 100 stars if I could!

Cee Jay: We planned our wedding in under six months and (having never done this before) had no idea what we were doing. Katie was very understanding and helpful in helping us figure out what we wanted and the best path to get there. The team there is very busy (understandably so) and I was a little nervous that we would feel generic and rushed because of it, but the day of, the team well exceeded our expectations. Katie was proactive in anticipating things we might need, attentive if we did need anything, and extremely professional. Katie somehow struck an incredible balance of being there for anything we needed without interfering with anything. The whole night was beyond what we imagined and the setting, food, and service at the Farmhouse really made for a phenomenal celebration.

Mike Palmer: We could not have been happier with our daughters wedding. The folks at the Farmhouse got everything right. The staff was very attentative, but, not in the way, the food was amazing, and the venue was perfect. The only thing I wish was that we had more time. After all the preparing, it seemed like it was over before we knew it. Laura and her staff kept everything flowing even when we challenged her. Mike and Joanne Palmer

Theresa Cochran: Very nice venue for a wedding and reception. Staff was VERY friendly and attentive, food was good and everything was clean and sanitized.

Ashley: I just had my wedding there and it was so elegant and perfect. My coordinator Anna was so helpful and really made our vision a reality!

Rosewood Farms: what do users think?

Madeline Westera: I got to have my dream wedding at Rosewood Farms! Me and my husband Jesse felt very relaxed on our wedding day thanks to Rosewood’s staff and our wedding planner. The amazing place has everything you will ever need. It was elegant, rustic, and glamorous all at once. There are multiple photo opportunities on the property. Everyone one at Rosewood was very helpful in answering all of my many questions.Rosewood is worth every penny that we spent. You can truly make it your own. I would 100% recommend this place to any newly engaged couple. Thank you Rosewood for everything!

Abigail Buckwalter: Being a Rosewood Couple is a dream come true! We had the most perfect wedding day and getting married at a venue like Rosewoods is a fairytale. It is the most perfect place for so many reasons and has every space you could possibly want. it is clean, so well kept, modern, rustic, and just perfect! Everyone is so sweet and helpful, they respond so quickly and work so hard to make your wedding day perfect. We seriously had the perfect wedding day and so many people complimented the Venue and everything about it. There are so many places to take pictures.

Julia Batman: Rosewood was the ultimate wedding venue! As soon as we walked into the Rustic Barn, we knew that we had to get married at Rosewood. The privacy of the venue, along with the different spaces offered for each part of the wedding day, truly made our big day unique and complete. The staff was responsive, professional, and excited throughout our entire engagement. Our day could not have been more perfect -- we got so many compliments on the venue. If we had to choose again, we would 100% book with Rosewood!

Hannah Hudak: From the moment we toured Rosewood Farms, we knew it was the venue for us. Monica, Chrissy, and the rest of the Rosewood Team blew us away with their attention to detail throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding. We used many of the vendors recommended by Rosewood and they all worked so well together. We loved the variety of spaces on the property and each one served is purpose beautifully and perfectly. You could take a photograph anywhere and have a stunning, picturesque background. Rosewood Farms also offers amazing add-ons that really elevate the day. Some of our favorites were the slideshow during dinner, the photobooth (which guests loved), and the yard games. On the day of the wedding, Monica ensured that everything ran smoothly and made me feel like we had planned the perfect wedding! We truly wish we could experience our wedding day again and again. Thank you, Monica and the Rosewood team for the most wonderful wedding we could have ever asked for!

Caboose Farm: what do users think?

Samantha Bennett: We had a wonderful experience at Caboose Farm for our wedding! We loved being able to stay in a house on the property and truly everything went well. The property and venue are beautiful. Highly recommend!

*C L*: Went to a wedding here beautiful scenery and houses were nice would recommend cleaning them before guest arrive we’re dusty but other then that all in all great experience ❤️ Staff were awesome and very helpful

Logan Noel: Sister-in-law got married here and we stayed the night along with other sides of the family and friends. Everything is beautiful! From the ceremony location to the reception/cocktail area! The houses are all within 2mins of the reception area and easily accessible!

Sara B: Caboose Farm was the first venue that I toured with my now-husband. It was secluded, quiet, absolutely stunning, and very close to Frederick and Thurmont. When we walked into the Event Barn and saw the cocktail hour space, we totally fell in love. Colby greeted us and he was so attentive and answered any and all of our questions. We drove the property and it felt like I fell more and more in love with everything I saw! We cancelled all our other venue tours and decided we would sign a contract that same night. Colby answered every email, text message, and phone call that came his way. It always felt like he truly CARED about us and making sure we had the wedding we wanted. There were some minor issues in the beginning that Colby and the property owner handled very professionally and QUICKLY. Rehearsal evening was held on the property and it was a torrential downpour. Colby walked around with an umbrella and helped us carry boxes of décor, etc. into the barn. He even allowed us to use a more spacious and covered space on the property to make sure all our guests were comfortable (and dry). You can tell Colby loves the property and cares about his couples. Katy, my GIRL, was an absolute life saver on our wedding day. We had some very minor hiccups the day of during set up and Katy went above and beyond to correct them. She answered her phone and started making calls before she was “on duty” for the day and made sure we had exactly what we needed. She navigated family members, helped make sure set-up went accordingly, and kept us on schedule. I can’t thank you enough for everything you did to make sure Paul and I had “our day”. Taylor, you were everyone’s favorite person that evening! Thank you for keeping all our guests happy and making sure no one was ever thirsty. Our guests absolutely raved about the venue. We were told it was the perfect size and so convenient. Everyone loved the tractor ride to the ceremony site! We highly recommend staying in the houses on the property and making a weekend out of it. The houses are meticulously kept and it’s so nice walking a few feet to your room when the wedding is over. No worrying about transportation or a hot, long bus ride! Thank you to all the staff at Caboose Farm that made our wedding dreams come true. We love the place and can’t recommend it enough to couples looking for the perfect place to get married.

Erica Shaughnessy: Caboose Farm was the PERFECT location for our wedding ceremony! Colby and his team were very responsive and super accommodating of our needs during the Pandemic. All staff adhered to COVID guidelines which made us very feel comfortable. The property and cottages are well maintained and super clean. We got very lucky as the foliage was beautiful this year ! Colby was understanding around our request to drop our wedding guest list from 235 to 18 people. and he adjusted our contract and ceremony site to meet our needs! Peter and Katy were essential in making sure our day was perfect :) Thank you so much for making our day special. 10/10 recommend this venue !! :)

Evan Felmet: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueCaboose Farm was a great venue to host our party. The staff had everything well in hand for the entire event, and it all ran very smoothly. The property was also beautiful, with everything well-maintained even in inclement weather. Highly recommended!

anna dimetra singer: My team planned a wedding at Caboose, which we had to postpone 3 times due to covid. We cannot say enough great things about working with Colby and his team. They were flexible, accommodating and super responsive throughout the entire process. On the day of, they were a fantastic partner and helped execute every detail. We cannot say enough good things and cannot wait to be back at Caboose!

Shady Elms Farm, LLC: what do users think?

Caitlin Marchese: Our wedding was this past weekend at Shady Elms Farm and it was everything we dreamed of and more! I worked with Jane to plan our wedding and I can truly say she went above and beyond! Not one detail went unnoticed and everything came together even better than I could have imagined. I gave her inspiration photos and ideas and it was executed perfectly! My jaw dropped when we arrived at the venue! We have also received so many compliments about how beautiful and fun our wedding was! It was so much fun to plan and I cannot thank Jane and Shady Elms enough for everything they did for us!

Gretchen Jones: My husband and I had our wedding at SEF in September 2020. The SEF team is an absolute dream team. We wanted an all-inclusive venue, and they executed it perfectly. For what SEF doesn’t directly provide (cake, DJ, officiant), they have recommendations that are top notch. SEF was responsive to our emails, had contingency plans for everything, and had a general “we can do that” attitude that kept a COVID bride calm. Some main highlights: Decor - I had tears of joy as I entered the farm the day of our wedding. Everything looked crisp, clean, and full of color. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous. Their pictures on the website don’t do it justice. Food - Our guests continue to rave about the food. SEF also provides lunch for the ladies and a space to change into our dresses. We paid for them to set up our cookie table and it was well worth the money. Set-up/Tear down - SEF had us drop off dresses, decor, and cookies the night before and set everything up for us. After the wedding, SEF collected all our belongings, boxed our cookies and food leftovers, and had them ready to go for us to pick up the next day. Extras - Less than a month out we thought we would have to switch our ceremony site from a church and SEF said they’d be able to do it if we wanted. One of the things we loved about the venue was the cow pastures. The family let us drive up to one of the pastures to take pictures with the cows during sunset and they are by far some of my favorite pictures. We are beyond grateful to have found SEF. Their love and passion for their work is so evident, and they were a blessing to have during such uncertain times. Our guests could not stop commenting about how beautiful and amazing our day was, and my husband and I could not imagine having celebrated our wedding anywhere else. I highly recommend at least taking a look at their virtual tour on their website and going through some of the wedding albums.

P Car: This place is lovely and first rate. The owners have converted a working farm ,with real cows into a beautiful party site. Highly recommended.

Ronald J Cambest BSW: As a Minister I performed many weddings at Shady Elms. One of the most unique and beautiful venues in our area and the staff are always professional and wonderful.

Amy Lindsey: Absolutely lovely family farm and wedding venue. It is so picturesque and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and attentive.

Frank McDine: FANTASTIC venue very well run very clean ,good food ,great staff would definitely recommend

Angie Good: Shady elms farms was a very peaceful and beautiful place. Accents to the buildings & different items placed throughout the property made it a unique place to have a wedding. Plenty of parking. plenty of room for people to walk around stand and talk with each other.

Lauren Shaw-Schrenk: Shady Elms Farm and the staff exceeded our expectations during the planning process and on our wedding day. We had to reschedule our wedding multiple times due to the pandemic and they were more than accommodating. I really loved working with the staff throughout the style planning process as they really listened to my ideas and understood my personal style. I have to give a shout out to Heather who did an amazing job with designing/creating the most beautiful floral arrangements throughout the property. We were truly blown away at how beautiful the venue looked, it was breathtaking! I also need to acknowledge Becky who was our day of coordinator. She was very professional, warm to our guests, and kept our day on track. Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the property was and how cute the brown cows were! Lastly, this venue is very unique in that it provides multiple outdoor and indoor spaces that you can utilize on your wedding day. Also, you have a back up plan if it rains as you can move an outdoor ceremony inside the barn which relieves a lot of stress. Overall, we could not have asked for a better wedding experience from start to finish. We feel so lucky to have found this beautiful farm/barn in our hometown of Pittsburgh. Thanks again to all of the staff that helped make our dream wedding possible.

Alicia Lacey Photography: what do users think?

Molly O'Connell: My fiancé and I did our engagement shoot with Alicia. She was recommended to us by a friend, who had nothing but wonderful things to say about her experience having Alicia do both her engagement and wedding photography. Alicia most definitely lived up the hype and only exceeded our expectations! She was fantastic to work with, both during the scheduling/planning process and during the shoot itself. We absolutely LOVE our engagement photos and know we will treasure them forever! I cannot recommend Alicia enough!

Reva Stidd: When my husband and I decided to elope on his parent’s 50th wedding anniversary last year, Alicia was the first of only two people that we called to help us the day of (and it was the best decision we made!). After reviewing Jonathon’s top ten picks for wedding photographers in the DC area, Alicia was by far my favorite. I noticed she has a talent for capturing details that are typically overlooked by other photographers—things that brides-to-be spend forever deciding on, things that would otherwise go unnoticed (e.g., delicate dress details, accessories, vow booklets). She’s also fantastic at capturing the venue(s) you’ve selected for your special day and has a keen eye for composition. Our private, sunrise elopement was held at the DC War Memorial, so we visited several iconic locations beforehand and she captured the essence of the morning exactly how I had hoped, with close-ups, standard, distant, and very distant shots of us, as well as photos without us even in them to capture what we saw and experienced, not just what we looked like. Alicia was our only witness as we exchanged our vows, but thanks to her, we had fun and our friends and family have incredibly beautiful and precious memories of our marriage.

Mary Nguyen: You would not regret choosing Alicia to capture your special day. She is a master of her art form, and we are overly happy and relieved that we decided on Alicia to photograph our engagement photos. Alicia is not only professional and personable, but she was also able to make us comfortable and guide us through poses and the best locations for our cherry blossom-themed Photoshoot! 10/10 - No words can express our joy after seeing our photos!

Justine Record: Alicia is absolutely amazing! Hiring Alicia was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Alicia made a point to get to know us before the wedding day, despite us not doing an engagement shoot, and was so responsive and thoughtful. She had the most thorough planning process so that we didn’t have to worry about getting all the photos we wanted the day of. Alicia and her assistant photographer made us feel so comfortable throughout the day. I have never seen someone be as organized and detail oriented yet efficient and calm as Alicia is. Even though I already knew how amazing her photographs were from her portfolio, I can’t tell you how happy my husband and I were after getting our photographs back - they were breathtaking! Her work is absolutely stunning.

Alyssa Felix: Alicia was my favorite to work with! She answered my questions leading up to the session and I sent her a bunch of different outfits (probably an abnormal amount, but she accommodated and supported me the whole way)! Jeff and I had such a fun time taking the pictures with her - we had never had professional pictures done and she helped us figure out poses, captured our natural love, and made us feel genuine!

nadia martinez: Alicia is amazing, she is a true professional and its obvious that she loves her job. My fiance and I were so nervous about not knowing how to pose or what to do. Alicia walked us through the shoot step by step from beginning to end and made us feel so comfortable. The photos came out more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. I would 100% recommend her and we already have to another couple we know who will be shooting with her this spring. We will have fond memories of this shoot for the rest of our lives, we cant wait to get our photos printed.

Victoria Roessler: Working with Alicia for our engagement pictures was a dream come true. Alicia came highly recommended from several friends and she exceeded our (already high) expectations! She was so responsive, prompt and just a complete blast to be around during our session. Our pictures are incredible and something we will treasure forever!

Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts: what do users think?

Joshua Russell: Wolf trap is a great venue that has a nice intimate feel with a good size lawn and plenty of seating if desired. They best thing is that the venue offers a wide array of performers so chances are you will find something you like. We recently came to watch Black Violin which was amazing and I highly recommend. The venue staff is very helpful and super friendly. One of the best parts here is that parking is free and you can get in and out multiple ways so no huge delays which is really great. We sat in the pavilion section in one of the “box seats” which provided great views and easy access. Definitely will be looking for more chances to visit again soon.

Mark Gonz: Excellent venue for concerts. Music sounded great way in the back. Took our lawn chairs, ice chest and a blanket. You can bring in your own food and drink!! A lot of friendly personnel around in case you need anything. Definitely reccomend !!

Da-Wang Wu: We came here for a walk in December while there was no performance going on. The trail nearby the stage was very nice, and there was another smaller outdoor stage inside the trail. If visitors happen to come here to see a show, then taking a walk around this space might be a good idea.

Gary Klein: This was an awesome venue for a Bela Fleck bluegrass concert! The building itself is a work of art, the grounds are beautiful, and the acoustics were amazing. I look forward to attending more performing arts events here in the future.

Rana Emad: Very nice and chill park with many activities. You can sign up and be a member and get different perks (depending on the tiers/levels). The park is always clean with many I haven’t been to/attended the theater part so this is only about the park area.

Marga S.: Beautiful place. Nice and professional staff. Perfect lawns. I had a great time today, excellent concert.

Perona Farms: what do users think?

Janice Wordelman: This was the most awesome wedding experience. Guests will be talking about this for a long time! Staff was great, especially Kim she is a little spitfire! Appeared out of nowhere exactly when we needed her! 10 stars for Kim. Food was outrageously good, venue and grounds were gorgeous, and all the vendors we used (suggested by them) were top notch. Highly recommend for any occasion, but especially for a wedding.I 👍🤙❤

Megan Breukelman: As wedding photographers at Megan & Kenneth, we are OBSESSED with this venue! The Refinery at Perona Farms is honestly made for wedding photography. The modern ceremony space has the most beautiful natural light. The industrial reception space is so unique with its high ceilings and brick walls. We love all the different textures and colors that are incorporated into the design of this venue. But what we love most about The Refinery is the attention to detail. Every single little thing has been thought through in this versatile event space, and the staff is incredible!

Mystical Entertainment Group: We must say, the new management is VERY on top of the newest trends. The Refinery and The Barn are two of the most unique spaces in the tri-state area and entertaining weddings at Perona is an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend!!

Jennifer Decker: This venue has a rustic, yet elegant atmosphere. The food was excellent and the entire venue is well maintained. I would absolutely recommend this venue for any event.

Erin Cardentey: What an amazing experience from start to finish. Ivette was our coordinator and from the very beginning you could tell she had it down to a science. She was easy to reach and kept us informed regarding updates with COVID and our guest numbers. She was so accommodating with our list as our number fell short of our original number due to family members testing positive for COVID. Desiree was our ceremony coordinator and she was such a pleasure to work with. I seriously wished we could have had her through the rest of the night! Everything ran so smoothly that day thanks to her! The way she decorated our reception space with all of the decor we bought absolutely blew my mind. It was more beautiful than I could’ve ever imagined-truly. All in all, having our wedding at Perona was an absolute wonderful experience, hands down. You can tell how important your day is to them and they truly ensure that it is perfect, everyone we met was super friendly and lovely. We’re hoping to get invited back as guests one day to experience it all again :)
