Sarah Norton: I come here frequently and have held off on leaving a review until now. There have been some issues in the past, but I have tried to be understanding and forgiving. I made an appointment weeks ago for a fill today with Pink. I come in today on time for my appointment and am told Pink is not here, and can I wait for Tony to do my nails? I agree thinking it will be a cpl of minutes, and I go to the bathroom. While in the bathroom I’m called by Jenny, the business owner, and told it will be 30+ minutes until Tony arrives. Honestly, I should have left then. When I came out of the bathroom, Tiffany offered to take off my acrylic in order to get things started until Tony arrives. While doing this, another customer arrived for her noon appointment with Jenny who is also not here. So now Pink, Tony, and Jenny are not here. Tiffany asked the customer to wait 40 minutes, then Jenny called and spoke to this customer as well. At this point, the polish has been filed off of 4 of my nails. A walk in comes in to have her nails done and Tiffany leaves me to do this woman’s nails. I don’t begrudge this other customer having her nails done, but really?? The person I’m booked with isn’t here. The business owner isn’t here. Tiffany gets me started, then leaves me minutes into the process to take care of someone else. Since I am waiting 30+ minutes for my appointment to start (even though I booked ahead and was on time) then why couldn’t this walk in customer have waited for a few minutes until at the very least, all 10 of my nails had been filed, instead of just 4?? I can’t very well leave now with 4 nails filed, even though I am thoroughly frustrated. When I expressed this frustration, Tiffany was very defensive saying that I had agreed to wait. And she’s right, I did agree to wait because she was at least getting me started. But now she’s not even helping me. I am one of two customers who made an appointment at noon that is not being seen on time, and not because the salon is running late, but because the employees aren’t even present. What is the point of making an appointment at all if this is the result? Apparently, Pink no longer works here. Jenny should have gone through Pink’s appointment calendar and made arrangements for her customers instead of waiting until I was at the salon to call me. It’s just so disrespectful of her customers time and shows a lack of planning and leadership. Very disheartening. I’m sad to even be writing this because I like this salon a lot, it’s very clean and relaxing and I’m always happy with my service (except the one time I had Tiffany do my nails; big mistake), but this is just no way to do business. I don’t want to leave this place because as I said, there’s a lot to like here and Jenny and Tony are very sweet people. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what happens when they get here. Update! It’s several hours later. Jenny and Tony arrived roughly 25 minutes after my appointment time. They were very kind and gracious, I said they’re sweet people! Tony took a lot of time on my service and made sure I was happy. He then took a percentage off of the price. Jenny also reached out this afternoon after I got home and apologized again. I’ll stay with this salon for now, as I said it’s very clean and relaxing. Just know that when going to this salon, you’ll be happy with your nails, but appointment times may or may not be adhered to. Service: Acrylic nails

Nina G.: I’ve driven past Laveda for who knows how long, and I finally decided to give them a try. I’m SO happy with my lashes!! Esther did an incredible job making them natural but still defined. It’s such a confidence booster, since I had my lashes done elsewhere and felt like they were too doll-like. I’ve gotten so many compliments! Everyone was friendly, and the decor is beautiful. Ashanti Callender: This place has terrible customer service and the workers are rude. I came in for eyebrow threading and tinting. After my service was complete I shared with the manager that I wanted the color to be darker. Rather than help, she proceeded to tell me how long she has been doing tinting services rather than offering a solution. I then explained that this is the second time I have come to this shop and the service was subpar. Again, rather than rectify the situation her response was “Then why do you keep coming back”. Her attitude was deplorable and I will never be coming back here again. Service: Eyebrow threading

Elizabeth Prairie: Had a wax at this location and it was honestly uncomfortable which I’ve never had at a European wax center. The front desk staff was lovely but when I went to wax with Tia, she had an attitude due to my short hair for waxing. Overall bad interaction and won’t come back to this location.Service: Waxing

Jessica Hopkins: Love, love, LOVE being a Prmp girl!!! My Girl Ashley always come through with the excellent customer service. My appointment is always on time, the Efficient service, (especially for us stay at home moms who are on a time crunch) 😄 my girl cleaned me up and got me out of there in no time, all while making me laugh and super comfortable. Love that they are taking all the safety Covid Protocols, the establishment was spotless!! Please book with her for your next visit! You won’t be disappointed!!

Sheridan Moore: EWC is great because it’s seamless, everywhere, and clean. But hands down the best location I’ve been to is Cleveland Park because my wax specialist there is THE best! Her name is Dayawna and I can’t recommend her more! She’s awesome. Gentle, kind, and makes great shapes for the brows!Services: Brazilian wax, Body Waxing, Waxing

THE REAL AFIOLASADE: I got my first and second Brazilian wax here, and it honestly just keeps getting better. I absolutely loved the services and kind staff. They were professional and it was clean. I would without a doubt, recommend speaking with Aleah when inquiring about first-time waxing experiences. She was a darling very comforting and insightful. She made sure that I felt at ease and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this location to someone who is looking for an experienced staff. I will be back! Kastine Evans: Michelle has been my technician for my laser hair removal. I was a skeptic heading into the consultation and she made me feel comfortable and allowed me to ask questions. In my first session she communicated wonderfully to ensure I was comfortable the entire time. It was important to find someone who understood the nuances of black skin and that gave me trust in her work. I am going to be adding additional services and I look forward to working with Michelle to achieve the results I am looking for.

Brook Jackling: I was excited to try Brow Contour given all of the good reviews. However, my eyebrows have ended up completely uneven—one is very noticeably thinner than the other, despite the fact that I stressed when I came in that I wanted to maintain my natural brow shape and just clean up stray hairs. After my wax, Krishna, the “senior esthetician,” told me that my eyebrows are now uneven because the hair grows in different directions on each. I’ve been to numerous brow salons in NYC and DC and never heard such a thing (not to mention, have never ended up with my eyebrows looking like this). Do not recommend.

Casey Regan: I had such a wonderful experience with Nilou my first time! The salon is so, so cute and has a very relaxed vibe. I didn’t have to wait long and Nilou herself came out and brought me to her studio in the back- with a whole charcuterie board of cheeses, strawberries, grapes, and crackers + sparkling wine!!! I’ve never been treated so well at any waxing salon I almost felt like a celebrity. Nilou herself is so warm and inviting, which is super important in my book when you’re waxing certain private areas LOL. She was very gentle through the whole waxing process(and TMI I’m super hairy so that’s added points) and she used numbing spray which helped too. So glad to have found my new waxing place!!! She makes the waxing experience as painless as possible and is also the best at shaping my eyebrows. I also have to give a shout out to the amazing front desk staff—they have consistently been amazing, super helpful, friendly and patient, especially with schedule changes. I’ve gone monthly for almost two years and the front desk staff have always been the utmost professional, the consistency is impressive. I also had a wax pass which worked great for me—if you think you’re going to go with any regularity the wax pass saves you a lot of $$. Darryle Bigelow Sr: Karen has been cutting my hair for a couple of years now and I have never been disappointed. I like to keep my hair short (chin length and shorter) and her cuts are always precise. The price, quality, and location are hard to beat. I usually get same day appointments, even on a Friday.

Kate Couturier: I got great lengths hair extensions at INARI. I absolutely LOVE the extensions and had the best experience with Santos. I have extremely thin hair and had some not great experiences with tape-ins previously, so I was a bit nervous, but really wanted longer, thicker hair for my wedding. Santos was very knowledgeable and helpful in making the right choices for my hair type and really took his time putting them in to make sure they were perfect. He went above and beyond to get the most length and fullness possible. I couldn’t believe how perfect the color matched my hair, how long we were able to go, and how natural they look! I have never loved my hair so much, and it was exactly what I wanted for my wedding, which never would have been possible without the extensions! They have also lasted a very long time. Overall, INARI is one of the nicest salons I’ve been to, and Santos was so fun to work with and did an amazing job! Service: Hair extensions

Amy Lee: Eliana has been cutting hair for over 20 years, so she’s cut just about every style imaginable. When I asked for a trendy cut not only did she do exactly what I asked, but she was efficient because she’s probably done this same cut hundreds of times. If you’re looking for a good stylist who knows hair, she’s your girl. I also got a color and curtain bangs, thrilled with both. She gave me styling instructions and the color looks great. Services: Balayage , Bang trim , Highlights , Gloss or Glaze

Dr. Seria Lakes: My henna brows looked really good. They were a little dark after the service, but I used a makeup wipe to tone them down. I also got a lash lift. My right eye was still hurting 4 days after the service ...not from the last lift itself, but from how hard the technician pulled my eyelashes. The protector used for my eye was also placed in such a way that it was painful (digging into my skin) and I had to ask her to move it. The outer part of my eye was bruised from how it was placed. It still hurt several days later.
