Dr. Michael J. West, MD: what do users think?

Kelly Sheppard: Dr. West has been a great and consistent doctor for me for 3 years. His office manager, Ken, is very efficient and helpful. I've had the easiest time with refills and handling insurance through Ken and Dr. West's office compared to any other doctor I've had. They do a fantastic job. I liked being able to get my blood drawn at the office, but now that I live farther away, it's actually nice to use LabCorp. Dr. West is not the most emotionally expressive doctor, but that's also not what I pay him to be. I need someone who knows about diabetes and can help me manage it well long-term. He always answers my questions or gets answers to my questions, even if he doesn't look animated or interested when I ask.

Jillian Molina: While I'd appreciate things like appointment reminders and automatically being sent a copy of my bill after appointments (I tend to have to ask, or call when I have my appointment scheduled), I do like that the appointments are efficient with Dr. West and I'm typically hearing back from someone quickly. Getting blood drawn with LabCorp is very easy, and the virtual appointments are easy to schedule around my day.

gina fulton: Dr. West has been a great endocrinologist for me this past year. When I had questions or concerns about my thyroid nodule he was attentive and reassuring. When I went to get a biopsy and labs for my nodule they came back inconclusive, Dr. West made sure he retook the labs himself so we has a definitive answer and next course of action. I still check in with him every few months. I also really appreciate his assistant ken! He’s very kind and always answers the phone with a positive attitude!

Chris Heitzig: Dr. West seems to be a quality doctor, but the practice has some shady financial practices. I'm not sure what others' experiences are, but I never received any calls or reminders about my appointment (no calendar invite), and was charged expensive late fees for missing an appointment that I never even had on my calendar. I'm confident that other quality endocrinologists exist with more transparent business practices, and hence would recommend you look elsewhere.

Beth Cessna: Dr. West's clinic has always been excellent for me. So interesting that that there are 1 star ratings. I think it is a matter of personal style. They are efficient, knowledgeable, fast to refill or to follow up. Helpful with good information. Dr. West not only looks at a patient's "numbers" he asks how they feel and works to make sure that he handles medication in a way that not only optimizes lab returns but how a patient is actually functioning. Ideal doctor if you want skill in managing Hashimoto's disease. I would take the 1 star ratings with a grain of salt. Endocrinology patients can sometimes be sensitive due to their medical condition. Thyroid conditions can impact emotions at times. I have always been professional with them and they have with me. Happy patient for 7 years or so.

Ben: Dr. West is a good endocrinologist who knows his stuff. I saw him for 6 years before I moved. Ken his office manager is very efficient and competent. I've never had a problem with them and always got refills done right away which is more than I can say for a lot of offices. They do an excellent job of notifying you of upcoming appointments so you don't forget and if you live in DC, the location is convenient.

A Brad: The best Dr ever love Dr west and his staff. Ken is wonderful I just think some people don't like being told no. He is very professional and does a great job I'm Sitting here in the office watching him work and he is very nice to everyone. This is a busy office they don't make you wait for an hour when you get here for your appointment like most other doctor offices.

Luciana Harrington: Although Dr. West seems great clinically, he could improve on his bedside manner by attempting to show some empathy and compassion. He is clearly extremely busy and seems very rushed each time I have seen him. He is very methodological in his approach to treatment, which I appreciate, but brushed off my concerns and questions with facial expressions indicating he thought my questions were silly. Perhaps he did this because my hypothyroidism is mild, but he could make an effort to at least explain that he is not worried about my case and I shouldn't be worried for x, y and z reasons.

Anonymous: This was the worst experience I've ever had with a medical practitioner. Ken, the receptionist, is rude, aggressive, and dangerous. When I decided to cancel my new patient appointment because I didn't agree with the fine print policies embedded within the paperwork, Ken turned visibly red in the face, began to scream and yell, and closely followed me on my way out before slamming the door and ripping the blinds closed. Given reviews of Dr. West himself and the fact that he chooses to employ Ken, I highly recommend everyone to look somewhere else. I wish I could give 0 stars.

blair moody: I rarely give reviews and when I have they are positive. Unfortunately, this is my first negative review. Dr. West has absolutely no beside manners or personality. I felt like I was talking to a robot and his only concern was what my insurance would pay for. He did not discuss nor educate me on the risks of testosterone therapy. I had to educate myself. He never once discussed how my hemoglobin levels had elevated because of the Cypionate he prescribed, yet it is was on my blood work results (this is how testosterone therapy puts you at risk for stroke or heart attack). Fortunately, another doctor caught it. One instance, I learned my testosterone had spiked to over 1100 and I was very concerned. I called to ask if I should be alarmed, he relayed via his receptionist, "if he has any questions tell him to make an appointment". Another time I needed a prescription for medication he prescribed. He said, "my time is valuable and you need to come in for an appointment". I have never dealt with such an arrogant elitist before. He acts as though, he's doing you a favor allowing you into his presence and valuable time. Fortunately, I did more research and figured out how to increase my testosterone naturally to a very healthy range (no testosterone therapy). Do yourself a favor; educate yourself, ask informed questions and avoid Dr. Michael J. West

Sklar Mark MD: what do users think?

Mary Last: I came to see Dr. Sklar after doing a thorough search for a good endocrinologist with a helpful staff. I am an insulin dependent type 1 diabetic and my illness requires a lot of time and special care. I had consulted with a few other people on recommendations for good endocrinologists. Dr. Sklar's office is the first place I called where the receptionist was both professional and helpful. When I visited Dr. Sklar's office the wait was not long and Dr. Sklar spent a long time to address a lot of my questions. It is perfectly evident that he cares about his patients and he takes the time to listen. I also think Dr. Sklar is has superior knowledge in his field. I have found that the staff processes insurance issues for prescriptions (prior authorizations, refills etc) very quickly and it has been greatly relieving with all the issues I have to address in my health situation. The nurses that work there are also especially kind. And I have never had anyone been so gentle with me while drawing blood. Finally, Dr. Sklar is well connected with other top specialists. I had the unfortunate situation of developing a kidney problem that was unrelated to the diabetes. Dr. Sklar was able recommend a fantastic nephrologist as well as other specialists. My situation with the kidneys ended up being an unusual case which made it especially important to have a good nephrologist. I feel very lucky for that.

pat gleason: I've been seeing Dr Sklar for 4 years. I don't see how anyone could give him a rating less then 5 stars. Exceptionally knowledgeable and very accessible on general Q&A. 5+!

Liz Mandle: Incredibly kind staff answering phones. As of 9/4/18 Dr. Sklar IS accepting new patients but does NOT take insurance.

Lauren R: Apparently, the office hasn't been accepting any new diabetic patients "since 2009." Would've been nice to know that before trying to book an appointment here.

TheLenboy: I listened to you on Fox business today and I endorse your opinion fully.I am a South African cardiologistThe same applies to nursing care in hospitals

Zack Grundleger: Website states they participate in select plans, but they actually don't and are fee-for-service.

Julie Wainner: Dr. Sklar is an excellent doctor. He is truly the best!

Aaron Banikiotes: No BS, great doctor.

Dr. Nicole Ehrhardt: what do users think?

Marchelli Hill: Dr. Ehrhardt is very impersonal and unresponsive. She seems friendly, but it's not very authentic. She barely communicated with me. I spent more time with her resident doctor, and once they explained which test I would be given they just walked out of the room and left me there. I practically walked out the hospital with no real direction or notes on what I would be tested on. I called later for clarity on what exact test I'm having and she was curt and rude. After I received my results, she didn't have the decency to call and explain what was going on, there were a few test that came back abnormal. I called to request a consultation the morning after I received my test results online and an assistant called me later that afternoon stating Dr. Ehrhardt mailed me my results with an explanation and then proceeded to schedule a follow up appointment for 3 months later. I will be seeing another doctor for a full explanation of my test results. I do not recommend her at all. You would think with such a empathetic profession someone would practice more empathy.

Patricia Wiseman: I loved her! She waited to see me after I learned my referral had expired the day before my appointment and I had to have my doctor fax a new one. I just hate that GW appoints are so hard to get. She explained that she didn't have a lot of time because she had to go to the hospital for her patients but she did take enough time with me to answer my questions and went over some helpful solutions to my issue. I feel like I rushed myself, because she was patient and kind and explained the tests that she ordered. I appreciated all that she did. I just think this area has a shortage of endocrinologists and I think I have found the one I would like to keep regardless of the bad appointment scheduling at GW.

Shanna Chu: I have seen Dr. Erhart for half a year but my prob was up and down. She is nice and kind, unfortunately she doesn't have a plan for me. Then I went to see other doctors for a second opinion. To my surprise, other doctors that I saw all reached the same opinion, which was totally different from what Dr. Erhart told me to do. Then I switched doctor. I am not sure if I had changeed doctor earlier would be better for my health. If you are seeing Dr. Erhart, make sure you have a long term plan, or else it may be a waste of time, money and medication. (Taking pills everyday for nothing is painful.) Good luck and good health too all, and to me :-)

Keith Braun: I've been seeing Dr. Ehrhardt for 2 years and she seems to me to be very capable and very caring. I went from an A1C of 12 to sustained results of less than 7 and lost 20 lbs. I actually enjoy my appointments with her.

Dr. Suzanne M. Adler, MD: what do users think?

Jennifer Lee: My husband called on Wednesday MORNING for an insulin refill becasue he is a type I diabetic who uses a pump. Because our insurance had changed mail order pharmacies, his insulin didn't get filled. Since the pharmacy said it would take 5-7 days for insulin to be mailed, we asked the office for a bridge prescription to be filled at a local pharmacy. The office said the doctor would get back to us in 24-72 hours. You would think someone would have understood that if he didn't get the medicine it would be an emergency, considering it is an endocrinology office. I called today to get an emergency refill from an on call physician in the practice and the answering service still doesn't seem to understand the concept of how bad running out of insulin is for a type I diabetic and said the office would get the message MONDAY WHICH IS NEARLY 48 HOURS LATER. They are a horrible office and unreliable and unresponsive about something as basic as insulin. NO ONE seems to understand that. Instead of filling a prescription, now we have to go to an emergency room for a prescription. UNACCEPTABLE. We will be finding a new endocrinology office.

Laila Al-Arian: There's a reason that it takes a while to get on her calendar. She is a great doctor who is very attentive to her patients, so naturally, she is in demand. She is very responsive to emails as well.

Lu Rui MD: what do users think?

Taylor Malcolm: I cannot underscore enough what everyone already said- the staff at this office are completely incompetent. There is no way to talk to anyone there besides showing up and waiting 30 minutes. They surprised me with a huge bill for out of network lab work that I didn’t know about. I tried to call to talk to them about it. No response. I tried to cancel my second appointment with them and left multiple voicemails to do so (because there’s no option to speak with someone directly) but no one ever called me back. Eventually I assumed they had just cancelled it, then on the day off the appointment I got a text reminding me about my appointment. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. Separate note to say that Dr Rui Lu himself seems to be a wonderful doctor, but his staff have completely ruined the experience and I will not be returning.

Shaun Bailey: The offce staff is unprofessional, Dr. Lu Rui is a great doctor. Please be prepared to deal with the front office person ghetto at its finest. I know he has lost many patients. If not he just lost one.

orandra cotton: The offce staff is unprofessional, untrained has zero concept of time management, and no customer service. The staff is standing around chatting about current social media events etc. and ignoring waiting clients with masks on.

John Mosley: I've known Dr. Rui for over 20yrs and he's awesome in his field of knowledge, experience and wisdom!!

Chris Jackson: The office staff are totally unprofessional and in need of retraining! I have never experienced such unresponsiveness and rudeness in less than 10 minutes of interaction! Specifically, the office manager should only handle paperwork and have absolutely no involvement with people! Retraining, retraining, retraining is a priority for this office manager!

Norma J. Tyler: DR. LU WAS ONE OF MY MOTHER'S DOCTORS AT WHC. I REALLY FELT LIKE HE GAVE MY MOM THE BEST CARE. HE IS ALSO MY AUNTIE'S DOCTOR. AND NOW I'M SEEING HIM FOR MY HEALTH NEEDS. I FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE WITH HIM AND I TRULY TRUST HIS OPINION. KIM IS ALWAYS PLEASANT AND ENJOYS HER JOB🙏🙏

Lucas Tsao: Dr. Lu is one of the best doctors I’ve met so far. He cares your medical situation and listen to what you said.

Crystal Terry: Love this Doctor. I have came a long way with my Diabetes thanks to him and his staff.

Abrams And Lipson Mds Pc: what do users think?

Sheila: I worry for the day Dr.Lipson will retire. He is my primary care and I transitioned to Dr. Lipson after my prior doctor passed following 32 years of visits. So, I am very particular with trusting doctors. I trust this thorough and passionate doctor with my health in his hands. His staff and his nurses are the BEST- accomodating, compassionate , timely and knowledgeable. Thank you!!!

Kate Roylance: Can’t recommend this doctor enough (Dr Lipson). Very knowledgeable. He listened to what I had to say. Gave his opinion on the new medication I want to try, but was still willing to let me try it out. The receptionist, Antoinette, was also amazing! I can tell the team is organized and happy overall. It’s nice to go to a doctors office where you encounter pleasant people, and I feel very comfortable trusting Dr Lipson with my health.

Marisela Montoliu: Dr Lipson helped me control a bout of stress-related Graves Disease (over-active thyroid gland) that I suffered about 5-10 years ago. He worked with me patiently and carefully, meeting me regularly to gauge any minimal change and calibrate the medication. I was able to overcome he condition and have managed very well since. I am grateful to my general practice doctor (Dr Prudence Kline) for having sent me in Dr Lipson's direction, and would recommend him without hesitation.

Sahar Alhusseini: Dr. Lipson and his team at the office are knowledgable, wonderful, kind, caring and always make time to help. I highly recommend Dr. Lipson and his team for anything endocrinology related you will get the best care.

Cheryl Polydor: I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Lipson. Quite simply, he is everything a physician should be: eminently skilled, compassionate and very, very smart.
