Mary A Jenets: I love this store. I buy lots of tops for my nieces and myself. Socks, the svarorsky crystal collar for my nieces pug. My husband is not a pet fan so I do not have a dog or cat, but my niece has Gracie, her black pug who is adorably spoiled. The tshirts and night shirts and sweat shirts are well made and worth every dollar.

Tom: Unleashed are smaller Petco stores that only have dog and cat merchandise and food. larger Petco stores have merchandise for many different types of animals and they sell animals. that is the difference between the two brands which did not seem very clear to me on their website. This particular unleashed always has great customer service. I have my first puppy and the woman who helped me when I went a couple weeks ago had great suggestions for food, toys, a bed and everything else I needed. they have an area you can wash your dog yourself for a small fee.

Christopher Flow: Great pet store for selection. Carsia is amazing and so helpful. Would not have know what to buy when we adopted our dog and luckily she was there to look at a pic and let us know what we needed and sizes. Came back for dog training as a result once we learned she teaches it and am so happy. She is so positive, helpful and cares about her clients (present and those pups who have graduated). Can not recommend her services enough and this place for your pet needs.

Matt Roberts: Convenient, but relatively small pet store. Standard supplies, some organic/healthy choices for your pet. They have a pet bath facility too with towels and whatnot. I believe they offer some classes for dogs (are there even cat training classes anywhere? Or have we given up on cats completely?).

She showed me the proper size toys for my puppy and explained the reasons for her recommendations. I’m so thankful for her help - without it I would have purchased Kongs and balls that are a bit too big for my puppy. Glad to know we have such a great resource so close to home!

Emily Benson: Would totally give Doggy Style 12/10 if we could! Our puppy just went in for her first haircut and major bath, and we were expecting her to be *really* happy to see us. Instead, she was nonplussed because she was having such a great time at the spa. We had taken her somewhere else in the area recently for a bath, and she hated it. You can tell he loves animals and wants the very best for them. Ms. Alexis, who was at the register when we bought our guinea, gave her a check once over and reminded us to check our guinea’s ears, nails and reminded us of possible bald patches that can be caused by ring worm and / or mites. She was also very caring and showed our guinea lots of love. The professionalism, and customer we experience each time we shop at this Petco keeps us coming back.

They have a lot of cat things as well! Lots of really cute toys and other cat/dog sundries as well. There new store space is so spacious and really speaks to my much larger personal bubble I have these days

Tyler Cloud: The staff are kind and helpful. I do wish they know more about some of the products they carry, but this shop has exactly what I need. Quality dog food, quality treats. Every dog that has been in there, when I and my little dog have been, has been incredibly well behaved. I enjoy going here and Monsignor does as well!

J. McCormick: This cute pet shop is a staple of Eastern Market//Barracks Row and really seems to have stood the test of time. They host adoptions many weekends, and though their prices are a touch higher than "main chain" pet stores, the staff really get to know your pets, make fantastic recommendations, and are very well informed of the origin and ethics of their products. Overall, a fantastic little spot.

I usually have my raw food mail ordered but there was a shipping delay and arrived spoiled. I found this store late at night scrambling for my dog’s and cat’s breakfast and placed my order online. Monica Weeks: We’ve been coming to The Big Bad Woof for months now to get treats for our dog and have enjoyed the store and neighborhood feel. But they went above and beyond this last trip! I went in to get a jacket for my dog and really had no idea how to make sure the fit was right. I brought my dog in and that was a terrible idea. He’s super aggressive towards dogs and he was nervous. Julie offered to help me in the back of the store which was really their office and warehouse. She brought me several jackets for my dog to try on and kept coming back and forth to make sure we got one that fit and I was happy with. She never made me feel like I was being a nuisance, took time to chat with me, and showed me photos of her own dog. Several of the staff pet my dog, walked around us while they worked, and were so friendly. My husband and I originally started coming here to support a small business. We will keep coming here because of their excellent customer service, genuine love for what they do, and their commitment to helping serve the community they live in.

Chloe Flowers: Big Bag Woof is perfect for our family! We have two dogs and two cats and we can obtain everything we need from here, sometimes even delivered if we are too busy with life to stop by. They’re located right off the red line metro as well which makes picking up food and toys for our pets incredibly easy. The staff there is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Big Bad Woof is an absolute joy to have in the community, we couldn’t be happier with them!

They are beyond lucky to have him, as he is so well rounded with a glowing attitude!

Gave them bonus points because my dog seems to really like it here. Planned on coming back for the next month to see if it’s good fit for my schedule.

J CH: Update edit: My pup is always thrilled to go, but I’ve been frustrated with lack of accountability. She is supposed to receive a report card, and despite going for daycare and boarding, I have never once received an update. In February I had a boarding session that was unexpectedly extended, so I called and was offered for a manager to give me a ring and let me know how she was doing given the stay was longer than planned. I heard nothing. I picked her up, no report card. I emailed asking for one, no response for a week. I followed up. A woman called and apologized saying she would mark my account as 100% report card required. Another day of daycare and when I picked her up, I requested the report card and was told it would be emailed. Days go by. I email instead and am told the manager is out of town and they oversee all report cards so I’ll get one in a few days when the manager returns Wednesday. It is now the following Tuesday and no communication, no report card, no follow up. At my previous location on 18th Street, while it may not have had window access for the pups, I got an update on her every day. It doesn’t make a difference if the report card is a placebo, do what you say you will do. The continued lack of communication, despite being able to PAY to watch the webcams if you need, is not at all consistent with the way Doozydog seems to run the rest of the business. Unless the manager is the one personally observing the dogs all day, communicating with the owners shouldn’t be bottlenecked through one person. The usual care has glaring holes in it when I have to chase for promised elements of their business model on multiple occasions. ***************** Recently moved to a different part of DC and was looking for a new daycare. I toured a few options and am SO PLEASED with how Doozydog! is working out for us. From the initial walk through to any phone call afterward, the team was delightful. Upon arrival for drop-off, the single staff member at the desk was immediately faced with 5-6 other dogs all checking in at the same time. Everyone was handled with ease, the line moved quickly, and the manager supported the intake spike. Logistics? Check. I like the split isn’t simply big or little. My medium dog had a grand time with dogs of her size, which automatically offered me more peace of mind. The tour of the facility was what locked me in… it seems brighter, higher quality care, and cleaner than other dog daycares we’ve attended or toured. The fact that there is a window with amazing natural light that flows throughout the space, along with interior windows to support a sense of transparency and safety was a win. Was expecting a “yes/no” on her acceptance and was pleasantly surprised by being invited to see her in action as she settled in right at home among her new pals. That gave me the confidence to choose Doozy!Dog as our new daycare home.

Lenore Cicala: This is an absolutely amazing doggie daycare and spa center. I found this club because I was traveling in DC and my dog needed a place to stay while I was sightseeing. Their staff was so friendly and accommodating and letting us stay and the rates were very reasonable. Your dog is required to do an initial assessment to make sure that they will be comfortable and sociable with the other animals. They have very estranged staff who spend the day with the dogs, and they separate the breeds by size, which makes me more comfortable because my dog is on the smaller side. Overall, I highly recommend this day care center!

Daniel O'Donnell: We visit DC regularly for long weekends, and we wanted to start bringing our dog with us for the trips, but needed some occasional "doggy daycare" during the day. Doozydog was great! Everyone we met there was pleasant and helpful. They were very attentive and loving to our dog. They provide daycare up until 9 p.m. at a very affordable price, so it was convenient to drop our dog there, go out to an early dinner, and still have plenty of time to pick her up afterwards.
