Mary A Jenets: I love this store. I buy lots of tops for my nieces and myself. Socks, the svarorsky crystal collar for my nieces pug. My husband is not a pet fan so I do not have a dog or cat, but my niece has Gracie, her black pug who is adorably spoiled. The tshirts and night shirts and sweat shirts are well made and worth every dollar.

Arabella Van Patten: Be careful!!! I got scammed here. Paid in exact change because their “cash register wasn’t working”. They didn’t give me a receipt because their “system was down”. Next time I went in the person working demanded I give them $20, while I know I paid in exact change. I didn’t want to argue about it due to some medical conditions I have and I was confused so I just gave them the money and left. Thinking about it now I know I didn’t owe them anything. My service dog and I will not be back. If their cash register isn’t working DO NOT PAY it is a scam!!!

Tom: Unleashed are smaller Petco stores that only have dog and cat merchandise and food. larger Petco stores have merchandise for many different types of animals and they sell animals. that is the difference between the two brands which did not seem very clear to me on their website. This particular unleashed always has great customer service. I have my first puppy and the woman who helped me when I went a couple weeks ago had great suggestions for food, toys, a bed and everything else I needed. they have an area you can wash your dog yourself for a small fee.

Christopher Flow: Great pet store for selection. Carsia is amazing and so helpful. Would not have know what to buy when we adopted our dog and luckily she was there to look at a pic and let us know what we needed and sizes. Came back for dog training as a result once we learned she teaches it and am so happy. She is so positive, helpful and cares about her clients (present and those pups who have graduated). Can not recommend her services enough and this place for your pet needs.

Damaris Torres: Worse phone customer serivce ever ! I called regrading a online order I placed for same day pick up . And the cashier I spoke to her attitude was horrible, when I asked if it’s okay that I have someone else pick up the package for me being that online it clearly states to bring your ID to verify , her response was “ well I’m not a computer so you’ll be good “ I simply said “ excuse me ? “ because I was completely blown away by this answer , she proceeds to repeat what she just said almost like it was okay . When being in customer serivce you have to have customer serivce ! Friendly attitude … so once she repeated herself I asked her if she was having a bad day because her attitude was bad her answer to that was “ yeah I’m having a bad day and your making it worse by asking me these questions “ almost like her job wasn’t customer serivce . So I asked to speak to a manager and that was just as bad ! When speaking to TONY he acted like it was okay what she said and was bushing me off almost rushing me off the phone … if that’s how you want to run a store then maybe you shouldn’t be open .. just a food for thought . I’m not one to write reviews or even call Corporate but today was different and I definitely did

L B: The selection of stuff you can't find in the grocery store etc is great even though the store is smaller, & prices either match or are competitive to Chewy. The employees though, are awesome! I'd pick this place over a giant box store w/ a million brands of junk pet food for the employees any day. So helpful, friendly and simply damn nice. Like, every time. They've given detailed advice about litter, food, cat leashes, whatever on multiple occasions. It's an actual pleasant shopping experience & makes me smile when I have to get the gd stupid fancy cat litter (overpriced but worth it for the lack of smell). Plus, some adorable puppy is usually getting a bath in the self wash stations in the back.

Matt Roberts: Convenient, but relatively small pet store. Standard supplies, some organic/healthy choices for your pet. They have a pet bath facility too with towels and whatnot. I believe they offer some classes for dogs (are there even cat training classes anywhere? Or have we given up on cats completely?).

Scott Oslick: I’m an expectant first-time puppy parent. I went to Petco Unleashed on 7th Street to purchase some toys and a tag. Carsia was so incredibly helpful. She showed me the proper size toys for my puppy and explained the reasons for her recommendations. I’m so thankful for her help - without it I would have purchased Kongs and balls that are a bit too big for my puppy. Glad to know we have such a great resource so close to home!

Emily Benson: Would totally give Doggy Style 12/10 if we could! Our puppy just went in for her first haircut and major bath, and we were expecting her to be *really* happy to see us. Instead, she was nonplussed because she was having such a great time at the spa. We had taken her somewhere else in the area recently for a bath, and she hated it. The difference between there and Doggy Style is night and day. We are going to try to convert all our fellow dog parents to go to Doggy Style! Thank you so much, Mike the Groomer!

Hannah: ahhh I wanted so badly to love this place. But it was overwhelming for such a small store. There was a worker placed in every single corner, and I felt eyes staring at me the entire time. I felt under pressure and left immediately after buying. Also the dog treats I bought were pretty overpriced.

Stacia Schacter: I had a really sketchy experience here...be sure to check your credit card statement after going to this groomer. I brought my dog in for a full grooming and paid $110. The next day, there were two charges for $110 on my credit card. I called Doggy Style to let them know and asked them to reverse the second charge. The woman did not help and never followed up. I eventually had to dispute the charge as fraud with my credit card company. In addition, when we arrived, they did not have the correct details regarding my dogs appointment and said they would not be able to accommodate his appointment because they were tight on time. This clearly wasn’t true as I had received several texts confirming the appointment details. Once I stated this, they miraculously had time to complete the scheduled services. Overall, it was a really bad experience. In the future, I will go to a groomer that doesn’t steal from or lie to its customers.

Tom: Fantastic staff. Great local store for both dog products and grooming. Call well in advance for grooming appointments, which take 2-3 hours. My puppy loved the groomer and kissed him goodbye! I wish they opened a little earlier on weekends.

Summer Bryant Campell: Mr. Darnell was very knowledgeable and compassionate about the proper living space, food and bedding for the newest addition to our family our guinea pig. You can tell he loves animals and wants the very best for them. Ms. Alexis, who was at the register when we bought our guinea, gave her a check once over and reminded us to check our guinea’s ears, nails and reminded us of possible bald patches that can be caused by ring worm and / or mites. She was also very caring and showed our guinea lots of love. The professionalism, and customer we experience each time we shop at this Petco keeps us coming back.

Tanner Hodges: Not entirely sure who DeeDee is or their role at this location, however they are rude and not helpful what so ever. I called to inquire about an online order I placed a day ago(I know about the 24 hour rule) when I asked if they knew where my order was DeeDee acted like how dare I call to ask such a question and once the 3rd party delivery service picks it up, it’s out of their hands. They huffed and puffed on the phone like it was my fault and they acted annoyed by my question. They then told me it was picked up the day before and then said it was picked up this afternoon. I mentioned it was perishable (frozen food) and DeeDee said “well we had it in the freezer” while I understand this, when I call to ask what the status of the order is and I’m treated as if I’m bothering you and not given any sort of solution, that’s what bothers me. I have shopped at this store for the last 3 years I’ve lived here I have never had this level of terrible service here and I know you may not miss my business but I’ll be going else where from now on. You can thank DeeDee for that

Daniel Lincoln: I started going to Howl to the Chief when I started working in Navy Yard and I love being able to support a small local business with friendly staff and a great selection of dog foods for my old lady dog. They have a lot of cat things as well! Lots of really cute toys and other cat/dog sundries as well. There new store space is so spacious and really speaks to my much larger personal bubble I have these days

Tyler Cloud: The staff are kind and helpful. I do wish they know more about some of the products they carry, but this shop has exactly what I need. Quality dog food, quality treats. Every dog that has been in there, when I and my little dog have been, has been incredibly well behaved. I enjoy going here and Monsignor does as well!

J. McCormick: This cute pet shop is a staple of Eastern Market//Barracks Row and really seems to have stood the test of time. They host adoptions many weekends, and though their prices are a touch higher than "main chain" pet stores, the staff really get to know your pets, make fantastic recommendations, and are very well informed of the origin and ethics of their products. Overall, a fantastic little spot.

Lyssa McEachern: I live to come here and spoil my pups! They have a great selection - especially love the treats, primal goat milk, and Suzies CBD! This is the place to go to get a step up on your dogs nutrition!

J.B. Hutton: Nice selection of treats and food, the good stuff. Top quality treats and foods. Healthy and holistic, the stuff pets truly should eat. Large amount of frozen food and raw options. I usually have my raw food mail ordered but there was a shipping delay and arrived spoiled. I found this store late at night scrambling for my dog’s and cat’s breakfast and placed my order online. I was able to pick it up the next morning. Life savers! I will definitely be back!

Veronnica: This store is predominantly for dogs. Their cat section is very small. They dont carry the same brands for their cats as they do dogs, which I specifically went in for and their pricing is much higher than what I have paid else where once we finally figured out what the price would be since it didn’t have a price tag and wasn’t even loaded in their system as it was delivered on accident. —- Added a star for the response from owner was kind and thoughtful and it appears I must have just hit an off day, and we are all allowed an off day.

Evan St. John: I used to come here for my hound and the staff was always kind and had a good inventory of healthy food foods. Ended up adopting another dog through this store's partnership with Rural Dog Rescue and now have another pup to make my life wonderful. The owner helped set up pick up of the pup and have always enjoyed stopping in for food and grooming products.

Monica Weeks: We’ve been coming to The Big Bad Woof for months now to get treats for our dog and have enjoyed the store and neighborhood feel. But they went above and beyond this last trip! I went in to get a jacket for my dog and really had no idea how to make sure the fit was right. I brought my dog in and that was a terrible idea. He’s super aggressive towards dogs and he was nervous. Julie offered to help me in the back of the store which was really their office and warehouse. She brought me several jackets for my dog to try on and kept coming back and forth to make sure we got one that fit and I was happy with. She never made me feel like I was being a nuisance, took time to chat with me, and showed me photos of her own dog. Several of the staff pet my dog, walked around us while they worked, and were so friendly. My husband and I originally started coming here to support a small business. We will keep coming here because of their excellent customer service, genuine love for what they do, and their commitment to helping serve the community they live in.

Chloe Flowers: Big Bag Woof is perfect for our family! We have two dogs and two cats and we can obtain everything we need from here, sometimes even delivered if we are too busy with life to stop by. They’re located right off the red line metro as well which makes picking up food and toys for our pets incredibly easy. The staff there is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Big Bad Woof is an absolute joy to have in the community, we couldn’t be happier with them!

Kelli: A wonderful local business. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There's a huge variety healthy pet foods and items. Yes, some things are super specialty and expensive, but there are just as many affordable healthy options too! I love that they regularly host adoption events and seem invested in the community. My pup loves this place so much, every time we walk by he tries to drag me inside! Must be the free treats and belly rubs!

Masha Bozmoff: Best pet store around! We came here a day before getting our first rescue kitten who I was planning to put on the raw diet. The staff members helped me pick out a suitable brand of raw blend that she took to immediately, and they have an array or organic, single-ingredient treats that I feel comfortable feeding her. Best part? They deliver for a super affordable fee!!

But I must warn you it's a small shop with just enough room to turn around. Also its is kinda hidden in the cut so you have to make sure you look out for the bright green building on Connecticut Ave. Parking sucks on the street but it's ok as long as you don't linger in the store. Get in and get out or risk a ticket. They don't play around!

Melissa Glidden Tye: Lovely local pet store. Small, but well stocked and will do special orders if you're looking for something they don't have. Most importantly, these are folks that really CARE about animals. So you're not just supporting a local business, but you're supporting people that helping to improve the lives of the animal population in the area. Pet Mac is affiliated with a wonderful organization, Pets Bring Joy, an animal rescue organization that works to find foster and forever homes for animals in need.

Cristine Romano: My beloved neighborhood pet store for the last 20 years. The proprietors are so knowledgeable and they dispense valuable advice. It's this aspect that distinguishes a small local gem like PetMAC from national and online retailers who might carry some of the same products.

Miles Fawcett: Very nice small local pet shop where the owner is interested in getting to know your pet. Good selection of items for cats and dogs. Their cats roaming the shop so make sure to close the door behind you. they have an arrangement with UPS so we're often able to pick up our UPS packages from here rather than having it redelivered.

Michelle Nam: Love the products that they sell here! They have a good selection of high end quality dog food and my dog and I love coming here. If your brand or product is out, they will also do a custom order for you. You pay upfront and they'll notify you when it comes in. The prices are reasonably and comparatively with online stores, it's about the same. The only thing I would have to say is that the store usually just has one worker in the store at a time. I've been there numerous times throughout my first year here and most of time it's not busy at all. But the one time it was, I had to wait 20 minutes to get helped. The only person in front of me was getting personally helped by the worker by grabbing things for her when the customer clearly knew where everything was and has been there before. There were definitely moments in which the worker could have helped me but she chose not to and because of that, my parking meter ran the time out. My only recommendation is that they have multiple workers during peak hours as well as train workers on how to handle busy hours better.

Metaverse Man: Owner is obnoxious. Avoid! Despite also being a UPS pickup point, the owner refused to let me leave a large heavy package labeled for UPS pickup after I carried it several blocks. She claimed she didn't have room for it, despite having a mostly empty store. I told her it was fine to leave it outside for UPS to collect when they came because it was worthless junk being returned to the manufacturer for environmentally responsible recycling, but she acted like it would be no big deal for me to just load the box back on my dolly and wheel it 10 blocks to the UPS store. I decided to leave the box anyway because she is the designated UPS access point. If she doesn't want to do her job and accept packages, then she should terminate her agreement with UPS, but I had relied on the fact that she is a designated point in bringing the package there. As between which of the two of us should bear the bigger burden, it was a far greater burden for me to take the package back, than for her to simply do what she agreed to do and type the numbers into her computer and let UPS handle it. So today I checked the tracking number and the package is in transit. So despite her "clutch the pearls" moment over "such a big box," she seemed to smarten up enough to just enter the package information into the system and UPS of course came for the package because they are quite happy to pick up a heavy box and collect a big fee from the company paying for the return She was just saying no because she is a obnoxious snot. In the end, I was right and she was wrong.

Amalia Baikie: Had a great personalized experience here. Got a case of cat food and treats for less than I would at the big brand stores! Definitely a great small business to support, that carries good kitty cat food.

bFly Young: I gave 4 star because I went to buy a ferret the cage in thr store said one price and when I got to my car to check my receipt. I was charged more then the price on the cage. The man with glasses at the register told me that was the old price but as the consumer I was to pay what you had up in the store. I don't know nor seen anything about a higher price. Acted like he didn't amend the transaction u til I told him I'll file a complaint with the BBB better business bureau because they have to honor what was up in the store. After all that back and forth my daughter got to take home our new family member Dash. He's getting along with my son Bright. Looking forward to adding more to our family but hopefully we won't have another price issue next visit. An they play do well with Chinx our kitten like they're all siblings 😆

Harlan Harris: My Daughter-in-law went to purchase a fish and tank for her elementary classroom/students. I did not go in. She returned with both items, fish food, and water treatment. The wait was extremely quick--the store must have been well-staffed with knowledgeable salespersons. I thought +$20 for a single Betta fish was ridiculous, but I'm unaware of pricing. I do know I could have feed salmon to a family of four for less...

Joey Abrams: Pretty pedestrian big box pet store. Pet enclosures and tanks seem well managed and maintained. Online pickup order was ready and waiting when we arrived.

Olgamaris Fernandez: This Petco's grooming was HORRIBLE!!! Stay away. I went to pick up my dog (a miniature schnauzer) and he was still dirty, the hair cut was done with uneven scissors all through his body and face, as if it was done by someone with NO EXPERIENCE. Therefore, DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE, EVER!!! Even though they offered a full refund, it does not repair the horrible haircut and going to pick your dog to find him in such conditions.

The staff are knowledgeable and happy to help if you have questions or would like to just chat about your fur baby.

Ess Emm: I am conflicted about this place. I like to support local businesses instead of buying online. BUT, they mark up everything so much. Collars, sweaters, dog bowls. You're looking at 100% markup on stuff. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Take your money to other stores that are more reasonable in their prices.

When I am in the area again, i will definitely shop here again. UPDATED: I found this Fresh is Best Chicken Heart Bites at this Loyal Campanion location and my finicky pups love them!!! They already ate 1/2 bag. I'm going to need to pick up more!

Chrystine Tadler: We were really happy to stumble upon the Clarendon loyal companion after first moving to the neighborhood. Now my dachshund knows the street and always tries to lead us to the door on every walk. The selection of treats has been great and the staff are always friendly, excited to see my pup, and happy to answer all my questions about food and snacks.

Lori Howard: Many thanks to Jason at the Arlington Loyal Companion location for reassuring us over the phone that he would wait for our arrival, even if we were a few minutes past the closing time. When I went to pay, he didn't just finish the transaction and shoo us out the door... he went the extra step of reminding me that I may have one of their new Friends and Family coupons in my email, which I did! And he honored it, saving me $40! And then as he walked us out, he gave my sweet doggies Smokey and April a handful of treats before closing for the evening. Smokey counts on his CBD Oil by Wholistic Hound for controlling his seizures. So glad this shop carries the 1000 mg bottle. Excellent service, wonderful shop, great products! Thanks so much.

J Y: All of the workers at Loyal are friendly, personable, and always exceed my expectations when it comes to customer service. Prior to getting my pup, we were unsure of which food to purchase. They took the time to discuss the many raw food options they carry. They are knowledgeable of the many options they have. Loyal is very accommodating as I have a picky pup and are always willing to order specific food for us. Overall, I highly recommend this Loyal Companion.

Jason B: Meh, maybe it's because I go to other stores typically, but it's just meh. I know it was Saturday, but the one employee in the store while showed me some options did it begrudgingly and the moment they saw a way out, went to another part of the store. I wouldn't say they mocked me, but they weren't exactly nice nor professional. Anyhow, if you want some different dog food, it's fine, but I wouldn't run here.

Leu Gillem: I would give it 6 stars if I could. The team is awesome. We have been taking our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Kymba, there since she was a pup. The team (and Kona, the awesome Great Dane) greets her by name when we walk in. They provide her with a treat, so it's become a regular stop on our walks. The staff is super nice, personable, knowledgeable, and all simply good people overall. We genuinely feel welcome at Loyal Companion every time we step foot in the store. Prices are competitive, especially since they incorporated a simple point system where you get X dollars in credit for X dollars spent in store. We get all our food (and treats) there. They are super accommodating. They provide car side pick-up and when there are too many dogs in the store, they will come outside and greet you. They do good in the community too. They hold pet adoption events & they allow local animal business to advertise their services. Ryan, Meesh, Emily, Jason, (and Brittany) are the best. Leah Creamer: I came in looking for a sensitive stomach food formula for my dog who had recently started vomiting, and instead got a 15 min private consultation! Jason was very knowledgeable about all the food options and gave me detailed information about each brand to help me make the best decision. He also talked me through when his own dogs had similar GI problems and encouraged me to see my vet, but in the meantime recommended a great hydrating/electrolyte replenishing option in the form of goat's milk. Our dog loved the goat milk formula and was soon on the mend! Thank you Jason!

Daminic Davenport: I want to start off by saying I spent hundreds of dollars over the years before they change their name to loyal companion. I really enjoy coming to this shop until today. The individual tending the store was very rude, dismissive and pushy. As I went to put my food on the counter to be rung up the individual immediately said you need to step back. I have no problem keeping the social distancing in place but the way he demanded me to step back made me feel threatened. He then goes on to ramble about how he’s attempting to social distance as much as possible and he began to act agitated and starts to threaten to not serve me for not having a mask on. I stated to him there was no sign on the door stating I had to wear a mask nor did anyone stop me at the door asking me to wear one. He then stated that it was common sense to have a mask on. I truly felt patronized and profiled as the gentleman leaving before I walked in had no mask and wasn’t spoken to the way I was. I then stated I would be happy to put on a mask if you would put the sign on the door stating it’s required he then continued to say I don’t have to serve you technically so I asked for his name and and he said why are you going to complain about me? I said I’m going to write a letter and he said good my name is Jason. The customer service with this individual was so rude I will never shop here again and I will be writing a letter to the corporate office because no one should be treated this way. I hope all of the employees are not the same because they will continue to loose business with Jason.

Brittaney Wright: Most of the folks who work here are super sweet. Plus, if your animal has an issue with the food, they will allow you to return it. I've had to return food there once before for my picky cat. They have a good selection of high-end pet products at reasonable prices.

MICHELLE MARSHALL: This is my first dog and her first grooming experience. I was very excited for her. However, when I got home to see her I cried. She looked horrible. All her beautiful fir on her face was gone. Her hair was frizzy, dry and wild. The cut looked very unfinished and uneven even though all we asked for was a trim. The groomer cut too close on her nose and created a cut/irritation. She’s been scratching at it ever since. Not to mention one of her paws is still sharp. I’m not only dissatisfied but I feel guilty for Putting her through this. I’ve wasted money before and can get over that but my baby is looking bad right now. I haven’t gone there to complain or argue…. Even though I’m angry and sad. What’s done is done. She will not be returning for a grooming experience. I’ve seen better work at petco. Haddassah Goldberg: I have been considering giving City Dogs a try because we recently moved to the neighborhood and they’re so close to my home, but I walked by this afternoon and they had their front door propped wide open. My dog is a runner, and I’m sure he’s not the only dog who would make a break for it if he made it to the lobby. I will be looking elsewhere because this left an awful taste in my mouth.

Megan Bailey: I brought my dog there for the first time and put in specific instructions regarding my dog being sensitive and to go slow. I also gave instructions when I dropped him off. When I picked him up I asked how it went and they said great! He was cut shorter than I preferred but that was fine. I get my dog into the car and he is absolutely terrified. He growled at me several times when I tried to touch his tail or feet which has not happened before. I am not sure what they did to my dog but I would never recommend this place. As an FYI I also emailed them and it has been over a week with no response about this.

Matt E: These guys are wonderful. I first visited after my cat had been diagnosed with lymphoma. She was underweight and it was difficult to find food she was willing to eat and that didn't contain all the sugar, wheat and junk found in most grocery store brands. The staff at Felix & Oscar helped take a bit of stress out of a very difficult time. They seem to truly care are always friendly, and are happy to take the time to help you find the food that your pet needs. The offered a variety of options for my cat to try, and spent time reviewing ingredients, and provided several dry food samples, a blessing on it's own. It reminds me of the old mom & pop shops where you feel like a friend and neighbor. I really wish more places like this still existed... it's a quality of service and atmosphere no chain or online retailer will ever be able to duplicate. If you're in the area, make sure you pop in and support them.

Lloyd Hamilton: The store maybe small, but the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and really care about the customers. Unlike the mega pet stores it size allows the staff to keep it clean and neat, allowing you to quickly find what you and your four legged family member needs.

Nub Cake (nubcakeandeatittoo): The ownership and staff at Felix and Oscar create an unforgettable experience every single visit. It's very likely your dog will be pampered and you will be extended every courtesy you can imagine. I've seen them give generously their time, care, attention and even products to the pets they love. I've witnessed several first hand accounts of the bonding that takes place between the owner and the pets, and it's truly because of how much they care, and how they genuinely and passionately care for the dogs and cats they serve and get to know. Some items may be a dollar or two more expensive then other shops (they may do price match, I never asked) but give it a chance and come for the experiences first and the products and yummy treats second. This place, because of the people there, is truly special.

Marra Harris: F&O is a terrific, local pet store, w excellent brands of food as well as ancillaries for our pets. Matt, the owner, and Woody and Will know their products and are great guides in helping you find the best products for your pet's/pets' needs. They sell only high quality items. I have been shopping at F&O for several years. They feel like extended family and neighbors, they take care to get to know their customers!

Mary Crawford: One of my all time favorite pet stores. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and always excited to see a picture of your pet. They carry a large variety of pet foods, chews, and toys in a clean and well organized shop.

Madison Jenkins: Adorable small business that has every high quality and healthy foods and supplements you could think of. They even had a great selection of eco friendly toys and beds!

Kadejh Naebzadeh: Such a helpful staff and they only carry the best products for your pets. Even have raw food for my kitty! Lotus and primal brands and some others but those are the primary ones my little guy likes. They are also very reasonably priced! Definitely shop here and support local small businesses

Alice: The service at Felix & Oscar is awesome. Woody has helped me the few times I've been here, and he is so kind and knowledgeable! He took the time to help me find the right diet for each of my 3 dogs. I can't express how thankful I am for this as one of my dogs had been in the ER and needed a diet change. I'd been purchasing from Chewy/Amazon prior to going to Felix & Oscar, and now I drive half an hour to come here for the great products and wonderful service. Thankful for the staff!

Cindy Peet: Absolutely amazed at their customer service, professionalism, and knowledge of their products. The young gentleman with the long hair that assisted me and my hundred questions, I failed to catch his name, was beyond AMAZING! He must have walked us through every chicken free (dog has an allergy) dog food, and was ever so patient with us. Answered every question, and taught me so much!! They are beyond lucky to have him, as he is so well rounded with a glowing attitude!

Sesleigh Saucier: Awesome groomers. All of the employees were very kind and helpful and communicative. I was able to get an appointment in a good amount of time for my two dogs and they performed a quick grooming service. They were able to accommodate my big elderly Great Dane and cocker spaniel puppy. Only downside was parking was challenging to find. Otherwise, I would highly recommend them.

Karen Blaine: I’ve had a decent experience using their facility so far since moving to DC. Prices are fair compared to other similar establishments. Gave them bonus points because my dog seems to really like it here. Planned on coming back for the next month to see if it’s good fit for my schedule.

J CH: Update edit: My pup is always thrilled to go, but I’ve been frustrated with lack of accountability. She is supposed to receive a report card, and despite going for daycare and boarding, I have never once received an update. In February I had a boarding session that was unexpectedly extended, so I called and was offered for a manager to give me a ring and let me know how she was doing given the stay was longer than planned. I heard nothing. I picked her up, no report card. I emailed asking for one, no response for a week. I followed up. A woman called and apologized saying she would mark my account as 100% report card required. Another day of daycare and when I picked her up, I requested the report card and was told it would be emailed. Days go by. I email instead and am told the manager is out of town and they oversee all report cards so I’ll get one in a few days when the manager returns Wednesday. It is now the following Tuesday and no communication, no report card, no follow up. At my previous location on 18th Street, while it may not have had window access for the pups, I got an update on her every day. It doesn’t make a difference if the report card is a placebo, do what you say you will do. The continued lack of communication, despite being able to PAY to watch the webcams if you need, is not at all consistent with the way Doozydog seems to run the rest of the business. Unless the manager is the one personally observing the dogs all day, communicating with the owners shouldn’t be bottlenecked through one person. The usual care has glaring holes in it when I have to chase for promised elements of their business model on multiple occasions. ***************** Recently moved to a different part of DC and was looking for a new daycare. I toured a few options and am SO PLEASED with how Doozydog! is working out for us. From the initial walk through to any phone call afterward, the team was delightful. Upon arrival for drop-off, the single staff member at the desk was immediately faced with 5-6 other dogs all checking in at the same time. Everyone was handled with ease, the line moved quickly, and the manager supported the intake spike. Logistics? Check. I like the split isn’t simply big or little. My medium dog had a grand time with dogs of her size, which automatically offered me more peace of mind. The tour of the facility was what locked me in… it seems brighter, higher quality care, and cleaner than other dog daycares we’ve attended or toured. The fact that there is a window with amazing natural light that flows throughout the space, along with interior windows to support a sense of transparency and safety was a win. Was expecting a “yes/no” on her acceptance and was pleasantly surprised by being invited to see her in action as she settled in right at home among her new pals. That gave me the confidence to choose Doozy!Dog as our new daycare home.

Lenore Cicala: This is an absolutely amazing doggie daycare and spa center. I found this club because I was traveling in DC and my dog needed a place to stay while I was sightseeing. Their staff was so friendly and accommodating and letting us stay and the rates were very reasonable. Your dog is required to do an initial assessment to make sure that they will be comfortable and sociable with the other animals. They have very estranged staff who spend the day with the dogs, and they separate the breeds by size, which makes me more comfortable because my dog is on the smaller side. Overall, I highly recommend this day care center!

Connor Adams: We boarded our large dog for 2 nights, when we got her home she smelled like urine. The fur on her stomach and chest was sticky and matted, presumably because she slept in urine. Will not be coming back.

Kelsey Howarth: We've had some mediocre nail trims here in the past but today's was downright awful. Not only was he brought out bleeding all over the floor and I had to help wrestle him while they applied Kwik stop (why wasn't this done before he was brought out to reception?), I also noticed when I got home that his nails were painfully short in the back... Like shorter than I've ever seen any dogs' nails ever... AND the front ones were barely, if at all, touched. One front paw looks like it wasn't even attempted. The other had one nail that is half trimmed... You can see where they started to cut it and just stopped. I put in all my appointment notes (and mentioned at previous visits) that he is incredibly anxious and needs some special attention, maybe even a muzzle in case he reacts, but clearly this was ignored. No one communicated any difficulties or any reason why they didn't complete the job while I was at the facility. They simply just charged my card and emailed me a receipt. I had to follow-up via phone to learn they didn't follow my instructions, Guinness nipped at the groomer, and they decided not to proceed. They told me they would be refunding me, but that doesn't change the fact that my dog was injured, a human was hurt, and no one cared enough to tell me while I was there that anything had happened. I read through some other reviews where other people have had the same sort of terrible grooming experience. We won't be going back to Doozydog anytime soon. If anyone from the company reads these, you might want to invest some time in your groomers' education and create bigger blocks in the schedule to allow for a less rushed and gentler experience. What my dog went through today was unfair, traumatic, and totally inhumane. Y'all should be ashamed.

Matt Roberts: My new go to for nail trims and grooming. Great staff, convenient location off U at Florida & 14. Boarding i's a bit pricey ($57/ night), but nail trim is $12 and walk ins welcome. Can take appointments too. Pup was happy!

Chris Meyers: Worst grooming of a dog ever (x2)! After they didn't groom our dog's paws after specifically requesting it we brought him back. His paws were then groomed but he was bleeding in two locations! Upon complaint, we were told they didn't know what caused the bleeding (even though he wasn't bleeding when we dropped him off...). I'll gladly pay up to double the cost for a more expensive grooming to avoid 1) the unprofessional staff who are not apologetic and 2) further harm of our dog.

Daniel O'Donnell: We visit DC regularly for long weekends, and we wanted to start bringing our dog with us for the trips, but needed some occasional "doggy daycare" during the day. Doozydog was great! Everyone we met there was pleasant and helpful. They were very attentive and loving to our dog. They provide daycare up until 9 p.m. at a very affordable price, so it was convenient to drop our dog there, go out to an early dinner, and still have plenty of time to pick her up afterwards.

Sneha: Baloo just completed Patrick's Puppy Head Start Part One and Part Two with Nikita, and I can't say enough good things about it. The first day I dropped him off, he was shaking and clinging to me. The second time, and every time after that, he ran right in. He clearly loves going and absolutely adores Nikita. I don't know what we would have done without them, we were very overwhelmed when we enrolled Baloo in their program. It really gave us a structured plan to work on with him, and it's been amazing to see him improve from week to week. Nikita is a puppy whisperer. She helped us with every problematic behavior he had, and he's grown into a really good boy. There are still a few things we need to work on with him, so I won't say we've 100% solved everything....but he is miles ahead of most other dogs his age that I meet. He's polite, he comes when he's called (even in distracted environment ). He's good about checking in. He also has all his important commands down. They introduced it during Head Start, and we reinforced it at home. I find that with new commands, the hardest part is getting it to click, which Patrick's does amazingly. Concepts that take me multiple days to teach the puppy, Nikita manages to do in a few short hours. They've helped him become socialized to grooming, weird noises and different surfaces, all important in a city! He's also learned excellent play behavior with other dogs. Nikita does such a great job of monitoring the puppies and reinforcing positive, healthy behavior. I also loved the photos and report cards at the end of the day, so did Baloo. When Baloo hears Nikita's voice, he drops whatever he's doing to come over and look for her. Overall, such a positive experience. I find that you really get out of the program what you put into it! The more you work with the puppy out of hours and reach out to the instructors for help, the more progress you see. Highly recommend it!

Seraphina Ferraro: I cannot begin to sing the praises of Patrick's loudly enough. I brought my 7 month old puppy, Emet, who is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, to see them today for his first ever grooming appointment. They were so communicative during the appointment, including me in Zoom calls throughout the day and letting me know how he did on breaks. It was obvious from the video chats that they put a lot of effort into getting him comfortable and gaining his trust. He's already an outgoing little guy, but they were so patient with him and it showed in how happy he was in the videos. Their report card was incredibly thorough and really let me know how things went, and included bonus videos of him getting trimmed as well as photos of the process. It's clear that they really love dogs and love what they do. He came out looking great, and they laid the foundation for many more happy grooming appointments to come.

Simon Roberts: We are so happy with the service and attention that our Shih Tzu/Mini Poodle mix Rocco has been receiving that if I could give Patrick's 6 stars I would. Their attention to detail and general concern for every dog in their care is amazing from Ian with Mini Dog Mondays to Emma with small dog Montessori. Their reports are frankly more informative than anything I ever received for my kids and given our dog's separation anxiety, knowing exactly how Rocco is doing is very helpful. In addition, the webcams give us the option to check on Rocco throughout the day. Great organization.

Jack Zietman: I don’t have enough good to say about Patrick’s Pet Care. Our small dog loves everyone there—human and dog—and the staff engage warmly, playfully, and attentively with her and all of the dogs. Our dog has been through the Day Care 101 program and now regularly attends Doggie Montessori School; she also goes to Patrick’s for grooming and some additional training. I can’t imagine sending our dog anywhere else—Patrick’s is just wonderful.

Susan Patterson: I've been sending my pup Georgia to Patrick's Pet Care Montessori School for two months now, and she is making great progress! Georgia's social skills definitely needed some improvement, and Emma (aka the Dog Whisperer of Columbia Heights!) has been amazing with her, helping her gain confidence and teaching her to play well with the other dogs. Georgia isn't even sad when I drop her off in the mornings any more - she runs right in to say hi to Emma and her new four-legged friends. Highly recommend!

Zoe Yousik: I already recommend Patrick's to everyone I encounter on my walks so making it more official here. Emma Teller first did an amazing job training and guiding my cautious puppy through the newly created Dog Daycare 101. Then in the regular daycare Emma continues training all the attendees. She does the most to make sure the dogs are playing in appropriate energy level play groups, learning new things, and getting constant attention. The end of day report cards are lovely. Getting a video of my puppy walking up stairs, and activity she had completely refused to do, was the highlight of my week! We do grooming at Patrick's as well and they do a great job while still keeping my puppy so excited to attend.

Daniele Wilson: I wholeheartedly recommend Patrick's Pet Care!! Hands down, Patrick's Pet Care is one of the best doggy daycares in DC. My dog has slight anxiety around larger dogs and would prefer to spend all day cuddling with humans, which doesn't make for a great time at most of the other daycares in DC. Patrick's Pet Care not only has a location specifically for smaller dogs but their enrichment activities are a sure fire way to make sure your pup comes home happy and exhausted. The entire team at Patrick's Pet Care is great, but Emma is by far the best. Emma takes great care of my dog and makes the best report card videos that I look forward to watching every single time. I'm so happy that I found Patrick's Pet Care!

Capree Houston: Patrick's Pet Care is 5 star! After researching various doggy daycare options, I decided to give Patrick's a try. It is one of the best decisions I've made for my 11 month old Frenchie! My pup is a very "spirited" dog who goes from 0 to 100 in an instant, and never meets a stranger. Emma has done a great job helping her to focus, learn how to regulate her excitement level, and learn how to play at appropriate levels. I love that Emma teaches her new things and has helped her meet her goals in such a short amount of time. Although I pass several doggy daycares on my way to Patrick's in Columbia Heights, I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else!

Michon Bunch: I am super grateful to Patrick's Pet Care especially Emma. My pup absolutely adores Emma and loves the Montessori School curriculum. During drop off, Kori jumps out of the car and runs and dances all the way to Patrick's front door! As soon as Emma greets us, Kori runs in not even looking back for me. At the end of the day, I always look forward to the detailed report card and pictures of Kori's exciting day.
