Capital Digestive Care: what do users think?

Jordan Bickham: While the doctor was fine and everyone in the office was kind, getting in touch with anyone is absolutely impossible. Their phone system is a joke 1. the calls drop constantly 2. you wait on hold much longer than the estimate they provide 3. even if you reach someone they tell you to send a patient portal message which is the next issue... they don't USE the patient portal. I've been requesting medical documents for two weeks now and still haven't received any response or acknowledgment. As someone who has worked in the EHR world, this is unacceptable and questionably illegal based on CURES. Please improve your patient experience!!!

j J: The worst care I’ve ever received at a doctors office. The doctor did not listen to my concerns or bother to further investigate what could be wrong. Waste of time and money going to this office. I recommend going to another gastro that shows more empathy and provides better patient care.

Juliette Funck: Everyone has been exceptionally kind, caring and seem genuinely concerned about getting me better. Scheduling waits can be lengthy but other wise highly recommend

Robert Egge: Everyone that I met with was pleasant, courteous and efficient. Moreover everybody knew exactly how to do their job. The staff instills confidence in the patient.

Dylan Desjardins: Great if you like really long waits and short appointments with doctors who don't seem to care that much. I had an important procedure, the results of which seriously affected my health. They did not really bother to communicate with me/follow up.

Israel Mejia: Stay away from this practice if you want to live!! The kind of doctors there are in this practice are called in Spanish, mata sanos (healthy people killers), their incompetence and shadyness is overwhelming and dangerous to their patients, they are there to check boxes and cash in no matter if you live or die. My wife had a simple case of gallstones 8 years ago and they misdiagnosed her, told her she didn't have anything, that all the, less than two months later she landed in the ER with an acute gallstone case that almost killed her. Unfortunately, we completely forgot about them and went on with our lives. This time my wife is going through a series of health issues and was referred to this practice again and they are even worse than 8 years ago. To be continued...

Melinda Overbaugh: If I could give less stars I would. The woman on the phone making appointments has the worst personality and customer service I have ever ore witness to. I totally understand the virtual appointments and the limiting of patients in the office, but if I decide to wait and decline a virtual appointment, I shouldn’t be served with a disrespectful and judgmental attitude. The attitude over the phone was completely unnecessary and although I might be just a drop in the ocean of patients, this company just lost one today.

Marquitta H.: I work nearby but would definitely drive to this location because the doctor I see (Dr. Daher) is knowledgeable, has a great bedside manner and genuinely cares about seeing his patients better their situation without medical intervention if possible. The check-in process was seamless, it took little time for me to go back for evaluation and have the doctor come in to see me. He listened to my concerns, made sure he reviewed my chart thoroughly to note any changes or necessary topics since my last visit and I was very pleased with his service so much so that I happily slid my card to pay my copay!😅

Sam B: I was between giving one or two stars here but I decided on two because of the expediency of which I received an appointment. I'll get straight to the point--the doctor insisted on two things that completely contradicted common knowledge in the field: 1) h. pylori cannot be passed from person to person 2) hiatal hernias cause no symptoms. I was shocked by both assertions but more so the hiatal hernia piece--if your stomach is full of food, and it protrudes through your chest cavity, based on my very personal and humble experience, one will face some sort of discomfort (I was diagnosed with one through an endoscopy some years ago). I have found certain remedies that work for me that a doctor is likely not to recommend but I was hoping he can offer a bit more since it had been recently bothering me quite a bit. All the doctor asked me to do is switch to a FODMAP diet, which I can find on a basic google search. It can help but I am not sure it really solves the root of the problem--since the appointment, I have found other self-care practices that have helped. Don't give up hope.

Marguerite Stevenson: I have never experienced such poor quality of patient care as I have with Dr. Collier. When I saw him, I had been battling an extremely painful gastrointestinal issue for several months. I had been experiencing horrible and constant stomach pain, so painful that I could not eat. My intestines were not doing any better. I was in constant pain. He ignored my description of the symptoms and made up symptoms that I did not have. He forgot my symptoms every time I saw him - he did not even write them down in my chart. I had to tell him every time I saw him that I was experiencing stomach pain and difficulty going to the bathroom regularly. He told me that I was making up some symptoms. He seemed to dismiss my symptoms because they did not fit into his theory of what I had. He repeated tests I already received instead of giving me new tests for my issues. When I told him I had lost 20 pounds rapidly from my health issues, he told me, "Your weight is fine for your age." He totally disregarded the fact that I had lost 20 pounds in under a month. He spent perhaps 10 minutes with me at a minimum and spent that time talking to me about his theory on my health without EVER listening to what I had to say about it. He constantly left the room to chat on the phone. I will never see him or visit Capital Digestive Care ever again. Dr. Collier did not do his job. At this point, it is my personal mission to tell anyone with a digestive issue to avoid Dr. Collier and Capital Digestive Care at all costs. No thanks to him, I'm still battling this debiliating issue over one year later.

Advanced Gastroenterology & Hepatology of Greater Washington: what do users think?

Zana: The service was as service should be but it seemed to go hand in hand with them in your pockets, very insincere and could switch on a dime, literally if you owed a dime. Take your time finding a place with better policy regarding failure of procedure and reimbursements when there is deficit in desired outcome because you could easily find your money gone and no results.

Andrew Satten: Dr. Farboud and his team are simply exceptional. I work with them to manage my Crohn's Disease and I feel very fortunate to have such a dedicated medical practice supporting me. Dr. Farboud is extremely detail oriented and invests a significant amount of time and energy in each of our appointments, and his substantive knowledge and skills are readily apparent. He has a warm and jovial personality that facilitates a constructive doctor-patient relationship. In addition to Dr. Farboud, his support staff is comprised of true professionals. I'm always able to get an appointment when I need one and whether they're coordinating with my insurance company or a pharmacy, they always get the job done. I could not recommend Dr. Farboud and his practice more - you should look no further for your GI care!
Response: Thank you for the 5 star review Andrew. Our patients are important to us and we strive to accommodate and meet everyone's individual needs. We are very glad we can be there for you when you need us.

Muyiwa Alade: Dr Ramin Farboudmanesch is awesome! Very patient, personable and truly cares for his patients. He patiently educates and has a great team with him. Stacy and Christine are so helpful!

Igor Igor: Very very good place))) Dr. Farboud and his team are simply exceptional.
Response: Thank you Mr. Mitusov for your kind words. We always strive to treat our patients the same we would want ourselves or any of our family members treated. It was a pleasure taking care of you.

K.C. Gilkey: This is my favorite doctor's office, the staff is very friendly and attentive and Dr. Farboud is the best.

Digestive Center For Wellness: what do users think?

Sanjukta Mitra: Dr Chutkan is simply amazing. After year's of struggling with IBS and no tangible solutions from medical care providers, I have seen remarkable results in the first few month's under Dr Chutkan's treatment. She is so humane, takes the time to build a connection with her patients and treats problems at their root, not just the symptoms superficially. She opened my eyes to a wealth of information- we are making those life style changes recommended by her and literally observing incremental tangible benefits not just for me personally, but my whole family. I am very grateful to Dr Chutkan for the work she does.

Barbara Leshinger: Dr. Chutkan and her office manager Samira are positively incredible. I first met Dr. Chutkan and Samira when I was very sick. Dr. Chutkan vowed that I would get better if I followed her plan. I can tell you that not only did she cure me...I have never felt healthier. I went to many "expert" physicians who told me they couldn't figure me out and didn't know how to treat me. Dr. Chutkan was calm, kind, and confident that she would heal me. People often seem surprised that I would travel from New York, all the way to DC for medical care. I can honestly say that I would follow Dr. Chutkan and Samira anywhere! Digestive Center for Wellness is a model for how all medical care should function. Intelligent evaluation, respectful and kind treatment, the utmost professionalism and superior medical advice. I am forever grateful.

Capital Digestive Care: what do users think?

rick fromnova: Don't listen to the excuse of "long wait times" given by this practice. Many reviews here say it was impossible for people to get their calls answered. I concur. I gave up last year when I urgently needed to find a GI doc. Since I could not get anyone on the phone back then, I also used their website contact form. I JUST received a callback to schedule an appointment with Dr. Kirk after my website inquiry, **an inquiry I submitted 14 MONTHS AGO!** There was no apology or any explanation for the massive delay on the voicemail message, or any offer to try to get me in quickly. I bet if I had answered the phone, they would have scheduled me out three months later...making my total wait time almost 1.5 years! Now, I am sure they will reply with some excuse like "It went to SPAM." Baloney. They used to return these website inquiries the next business day as of three years ago, when I first tried to set up an appointment (thankfully my pcp resolved that issue so I did not need them)....CDC has become factory medicine at its worst. If they cannot invest enough in their practice to hire quality people who take their jobs seriously and act in a professional manner, what does that say about the doctors? I have never encountered an office like this. Drive to Baltimore...you will thank me.

Leanne Tobias: The doctors whom I have consulted have been competent. Unfortunately, I am compelled to deduct 3 stars for incompetent administrative performance that could jeopardize patient outcomes. In my case: Capital Digestive Care did *not* inform me about adverse test results that required follow-up treatment. The non-response continued over a period of months despite several phone requests and a written request via my patient portal. I finally got my results indirectly at an appointment with my internist, who had received a copy of the test results. This event occurred during the 2020 COVID shutdown, but is still unacceptable. Just called to make an appointment in 2022, and was placed in a queue. Not great.
Response: Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Providing the best patient service is very important to us at Capital Digestive Care, and we will make every effort to address any concerns. Your feedback has been shared with the office manager. Please contact us if you would like to speak with someone about your experience.

Victor: I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Manish Singla a month from the day I called, but a few days later I received an email asking me to call Capital Digestive. The doctor would not be in the office and I have to reschedule. The only available appointment was another month from the first appointment. I told the person on the phone that I was going to look for earlier appointments in other offices, she asked me what I was going to do with my appointment, I pointed out that that appointment was in fact cancelled, since the doctor was not available, and she responded that I was the one cancelling that appointment, raising her voice, and asked what I wanted to do, to which I replied, to never have to use their services. Their customer service is beyond poor. Luckily I called Georgetown Hospital and got an appointment at an even earlier date.
Response: Thank you for sharing your feedback. Patient satisfaction is very important to us and we’re always looking for ways to improve. Please call our office so we can work to address your concerns.

Jen Rendfrey: Dominique, in scheduling, was one of the most helpful and gracious individuals I ever spoke to at a doctors office. She was efficient and empathic! I actually felt a bit better after speaking with her. Thank you my friend!

Rodolfo Antorcha: This place has taken very good care of me, especially Dr. Singla. I really appreciate having a young, straight-shooter as my doctor. I recommend him.

Leah Murray: Although the appointment-making process was kind of frustrating, I had a really good experience here yesterday. Everyone was extremely polite and welcoming, from the front desk person who wished me a happy early birthday when she looked at my chart, to Maria who scheduled my endoscopy. Dr. Shah herself greeted me and let me know that she had a patient ahead of me so I'd have to wait a little. When she was ready to see me, she pulled up a chair, took out a notepad and pen, and genuinely made me feel like she was there to listen to my complaint. She was immediately concerned about what I described, so much so that she got me suqeezed in for an endoscopy instead of having to wait two months. Overall I feel reassured that Dr. Shah is going to help me, and honestly I don't always leave a doctor's office feeling that way.

Bee Boyer: Good luck trying to even get on their schedule. Whoever they are paying to answer the phone for intake is clearly sleeping on the job; at first I thought it was me, but confirmed others have the same problem when looking at other reviews. I was using the 240 number-never an answer. This is what happens when a mega-practice absorbs all the indies...they stop caring and become a medicine factory. Drive 50 minutes north or south if you can.
Response: Thank you for your review. We value your feedback and are sorry to hear your experience did not meet our standards. We are experiencing longer call times and are working to address this issue. We strive to offer the very best care to all of our patients, and your feedback will help us improve. Thank you for making us aware of this experience.

May Liang: I have nothing but positive experiences with Capital Digestive Care. Much of the administrative process is made easier with the portal (and my questions asked through the portal were answered very quickly), the medical staff is friendly, attentive, and competent, and the doctors are excellent. I highly recommend them!

Shakira Gantt: This is my first time here. I didn’t wait very long for an appointment. The staff and my doctor were super friendly and professional. They also have a good sense of humor! Definitely would recommend!

Caroline Van Patten: Do not go here. They will never send you your test results. The receptionists are no help and will just tell you the doctor will call back or to message the doctor on the online portal. Shocker, the doctor will never call back and ignore your messages on the portal. We've been waiting on test results since November 2020. I'm writing this message April 16th, 2021. Once again DO NOT GO HERE. Hoping this review will get someone's attention so we can get our damn results.

Ira David Shocket, MD: what do users think?

Tolulope McCary: Dr. Shocket has been my GI specialist for over 15 years. He is an excellent, compassionate and knowledgeable doctor who is also patient and kind and takes the time to listen to your concerns and symptoms. He takes the time to discuss potential treatment options and his recommended solutions, in addition to discussing those you may have researched yourself and why they may (or may not) work for you. His first priority is to get your health stabilized / improved and he goes above and beyond to ensure your quality of life is vastly improved. Did I mention he runs an efficient office and is very accessible? I recently moved 3 hours away from DC but cannot imagine seeing another gastroenterologist, so I make the hike to DC just to see him and have a piece of mind with the assurance that I am getting the very best care I can.

Moses Garuba: He is an incredible doctor and a beautiful human being. He exhibits the best attributes of the practice of medicine. Five stars ++ is perhaps a more appropriate rating for him.

Debbie Walsh: WOW well, here are the extra stars he deserves!!★★★★★ 10 a perfect score! Met Dr. Shocket today. He was highly recommed to us by our neighbors. I knew he was a highly recommended Dr. on the top docs surveys and magazine, but when he called personally to follow up my email 2 weeks ago, I knew he was an exceptional Dr. Compassion would be the word I would say is his hallmark. He went the extra mile, presenting a plan to make me as comfortable as he could, which meant he was thinking of me and my best interests. That might sound like what a doctor should do, it is. But, in my experience in 5 hospitals now in 3 months, it is rare. ♥ Keri Johnson, the PA was very kind to us, explaining everything, answering questions and listening to my complications. She put us at ease at the arrival time being wrong and said she took another patient first then fit us in. She made us feel good. Thank you to the nurse taking vitals, receptionists that greeted us, everyone. I had put 3pm. in my planner for appointment, but it was supposed to be 2:30 and I arrived at hospital by 2:15 but by the time my husband dropped me off in my wheelchair and parked and we figured out where to go after going back and forth awhile it was 2:45.

Gillian Caldwell: Dr Shocket was fantastic start to finish. He completed a colonoscopy for me during COVID times so much of our correspondence was via email and videoconference. He was fluent with the technologies and highly responsive on email regarding preparation, COVID testing, results etc. He was also great in person - thorough, professional and kind. His team for the procedure was also top notch. Highly recommended!

belinda lai: Dr. Shockett was excellent! I had my colonoscopy several years ago, but I wanted to say that it was smooth and painless without general anesthesia. I only needed a local and got to watch on a monitor! Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Cherie Thoman: 5 stars in an insult. There aren’t enough stars to rate this incredible doctor and human being!!! I travel all the way from Florida for his services. It is a privilege and honor to have him as my Doctor. I have never met an equal. Thanks for taking such good care of me. You are the best of the best!!!!

Lila Clooney: If I could give a 0 start I would. I don't understand patients who give a 5 star rating. Probably bc they got a different type of attention and service. My issues were dismissed even though I have the test results in front of us to proof otherwise. Of course I changed doctor and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. How can I trust a doctor who dismisses the scientific evidences?

Jerrie Smith: Dr Shocket , is a wonderful Dr., a very caring and compassionate person with his patients

Jenny Crone: You couldn’t find a more caring doctor who goes above and beyond. He loves medicine and it shows. Best doctor ever.

Roxie Nicholson: He is the most compassionate intelligent and caring doctor that I have ever known I could not say more good about him.

Digestive Disease Physicians: what do users think?

Lori Young: I am shocked at the treatment I have received at this office. I saw Dr. Stephen and felt like I was interrupting her day. She acted like she was mad at me and I could not figure out why. She was not interested in working on the cause of my issue but only wanted to immediately start me on prescription meds. I called back to try and see another provider and was told I was already established with her and could not see another one unless I provided a reason. I told them I was not comfortable and they asked me to elaborate. I responded I was not comfortable elaborating via text. That was the end of the conversation. I am now seeing a different office that is more concerned about patient care..

Melissa Posey: Avoid!! This truly is the worst doctors office. The doctor was very rushed during initial visit and immediately pushed prescriptions, colonoscopy and did not find any reason/source of digestive issues. I had a week sample of the 1st medicine and my insurance would not cover to fill - emailed to change it due to high cost and they told me I had to reschedule another appt, copay and wait 2 more months to get back in when I was just in! Front desk was rude during my procedure. Shiela in billing will not return calls. I'm owed a $181 credit for being over charged over 4 MONTHS ago January 3rd. Tons of money later - zero answers or change to initial medical concern.

Christine Lehmann: I have seen Dr. Wu for several years for colonoscopies and find her very professional. The last few have resulted in removing polyps so they recommended earlier screenings (e.g. every 3 years). The problem is that I just got a surprise bill for $500 that wasn't covered by my new insurance. The reason is they didn't code it as a preventive service but as a history of polyps. What's frustrating is that they never told me this before so I could at least be informed about costs.

Jetsie Sutton: Dr. Wu is an excellent physician. She gave me clear directions and sound information and advice. Her assistant Rebekah was clear on the doctors diagnosis and listened to the patient concerns. Good Experience. If go to her follow her instructions.

Cheol Lee: me: when is the next avilable for the same doctor? staff: something sooner me: when is available? staff: I WAS ASKING. WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING I was really confused by "something sooner" reply. what is that even mean? save yourself a time whoever is reading this message. terrible communication.

Therese Corcoran: If you want to wait 2 months just to be gaslighted and given prescription laxatives this is the place for you. Office was dirty, the Dr. did not wear a mask and repeatedly rolled her eyes. 0-10 recommend.

Laura Haller: I worked with Dr. Dougherty on some swallowing concerns after being dismissed by a not-so-great ENT as "maybe tonsil issues but I can't see anything". He was very programmatic with going through my symptoms and answering questions before diving into medical procedures. After talking through the options and hearing out my concerns, he decided that an endoscopy would be best to rule out any of the GI related causes. I finally had that endoscopy last month and it went super smoothly. He was very professional in talking through what he saw in the procedure and giving follow-up instructions. Funny enough, my partner also had an endoscopy with him around the same time but for separate reasons. He also had a great experience. Anyway, kinda shocked to see all the bad reviews. I will say that in-office appointments might be a little delayed only because he really takes the time to talk to his patients. Not a bad thing in my opinion!

Shannon Fitz: Let me save you a two month wait for an appointment followed by an hour in the waiting room and a rude doctor not listening for 10 minutes max and shoving laxatives at you and telling you good luck. 0/10 would not recommend I wish 0 stars was an option honestly.

M V-H: Prevention is important. That said patients need to be informed. I did not find Dr. Wu to be very informative or helpful. She immediately pushed for me to get a colonoscopy when I went in for clear symptoms of hemorrhoid's. She did not even inform me as to why I needed to do this procedure. After I completed the test she indicated oh yeah your bleeding was due t hemorrhoid's and did not give me any suggestions to improve my condition. I was 39 at the time no family history of colon cancer. I am NOT saying precautions should not be taken, but more information needs to be provided to the patient, before pushing a procedure.

Courtney Dotson: This review is for Amanda Lawton the NP, Dr. Ansher, and his nursing staff. I have had nothing but positive things to say about this place. I've had a lot of weight loss lately and recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy with them. Both of these doctors are very kind and have a great bedside manner. I have really felt awful lately and they haven't brushed me off as just having anxiety or being a "hormonal woman". I really feel like they are trying to get to the bottom of why I've been feeling so run down and weak. Highly recommend going here.

Capital Digestive Care: what do users think?

David Rohrbaugh: My initial visit to the Capital Digestive Care office on Fernwood Road in North Bethesda was one of the most pleasant Dr office visits ever. The office staff and nurses are genuinely friendly, efficient and professional. Everyone smiles and it is a seamless operation. Dr Bolan focuses on "business" but is both kind and professional. In addition, the staff at the Bethesda Endoscopy Center (different location and staff) where the procedure is performed were also quite pleasant and professional. Overall, my expectations were exceeded at both places. Highly recommend Dr Bolan and his team.

raquel Scalise: Dr. Borman excellent, kind and absolutely great bedside manners. Listens, and plans with you as a patient. Staff is friendly and very professional. Thank you so much. As a nurse I cannot be-happier with Dr. Borman and team

Brian Gruber: Dr. Borman and team are absolutely wonderful. Everything went perfect and the follow-up is really exceptional. I highly recommend Capital Digestive.

Joe McKenna: Inattention to details & poor consideration of their patients. Scheduled a colonoscopy, provided intake forms, followed their prep instructions, sowed up for my procedure, waited an hour & then told they could not do the procedure at this facility & I would have to reschedule at some other location. Take your chances at your own risk.

Dylan Miller: I tried giving them zero stars, but i can’t. First off, you have to pay to park to go to the doctor, which is disturbing and the pay machine charged me for 3 hours when I was only there for 1. As soon as I met with the doctor (Goldberg), he was dismissive of everything I said. He continually touched my shoulders and back and did NOT ask for my consent before feeling my stomach. It was not consensual and felt violating. (I understand they need to feel up your guts, but ask a person first!!!) He was also extremely fatphobic. After telling him I have lost close to 40 lbs because of my stomach issues I was told that I’m still overweight and could lose more. He repeatedly insinuated/assumed that I am in active addiction because of my previous history. Overall, one of the most unpleasant doctor experiences I’ve ever had. I will never go here again

Dane Cherry: Laure K. is the best! She is very thorough, friendly, professional and really cares for the well-being of her patient.

Chitra Rattehalli: Dr Bolen is my doctor, he is very patient and takes the time to explain the procedure . The staff at the Capital Digestive Care Bethesda are superb 👌 Very friendly and helpful, specially Dorian one of the nurses, best I have seen. Even before putting in the IV she looks at your best veins discuss with you and then proceeds. I have never seen such dedication. Thanks to your team Dr. Bolen. 🙏

Niggle W: Been talking to this office for over a year. Paid for a colonoscophy and xrays and still don't know what's wrong with my stomach. I'm in my mid 30's. Things just keep getting worse and worse. Extremely difficult to get any help. This office seems overwhelmed and disconnected from the patients. The doctor was not really interested in my symptoms. Never prescribed anything to help.

Mitch Nealy: Dr. Richard Gelfand was my doctor, and he was the best. He's put his time in and now he's enjoying the fruits of his labor. Some of these comments are worrisome, I only hope the tradition and professionalism carries on.

Terence Nicholson: From the time I walked in, the staff was super friendly, patient and helpful. It was my first colonoscopy, and everyone I encountered helped me to relax. Great staff!

Ramin Farboud MD: what do users think?

Nadine NOBLE: Dr. Farboud is one of the best Gastroenterologist I have been to for care. I suffered with GI problems throughout my life and this Doctor was a life savior. He is very knowledgeable, professional, caring and spent time educating you about your health condition. Before you leave his office you felt like you already heal without starting your treatment. This is how patients should feel with their Doctors. I wish all my Doctors were like Dr Farboud.
Response: Thank you Mrs. Noble for your kind words and comments. We all take pride to put our patients' needs first and Dr. Farboud has actually always stated that even though this is not always possible, he always strives to make patients feel better and more confident when they walk out of the office. Thank you again. AGH of Greater Washington Managment

MsPooh To You: Went for my first consult and was met with DISGUST😡 The girl at the front desk was RUDE, NEVER spoke with eye contact, keep head down when speaking to me, had a Monotone voice 🙄 FIRST IMPRESSIONS are IMPORTANT, and I was 2 seconds from walking out and saying forget it...SHE MAKES YOU FEEL UNWELCOME AND UNWANTED, as IF we're INTERRUPTING HER🤬 I decided to meet the Doctor FIRST before making a decision. The employees are a reflection of the doctor...but Dr Farboud was total opposite. I explained HER actions and told him, if I felt that way, I'M SURE plenty others have as well. He apologized for HER and asked me to give the practice a 2nd chance. If SHE acts in that manner AGAIN, I WILL tell HER about HERSELF, RIGHT THEN AND THETE.... Because WE are HER paycheck... period 👌🏼
Response: Good morning MsPooh, Thank you for taking the time and placing a review. We appreciate all input and comments. We are very happy to hear that your interaction with the physician was positive. We are terribly sorry to hear about your first impression of the practice and take your comments and criticism serious. We will address the issues raised. Sincerely, AGH of Greater Washington Management

Jacqueline Costlow: As someone who works in healthcare myself, I know firsthand the divide that exists between “minimum required standard of care” physicians and the “above and beyond” ones. Dr Farboud’s standard of care not only goes above and beyond but lands somewhere in the stratosphere. I never once had that all too familiar feeling of being just “the 10am patient” because Dr Farboud treated me as an individual and actively listened to what I had to say. I felt a part of my own treatment plan and not apart from, which helped us decide the course that was best for ME. Everything he said and did clearly centered around my best interests and his ability to provide optimal care; refusing to settle for "easier" options that might give subpar results. I also believe that a doctor is only as good as his support staff’s representation of him. Stacy and the other staff were amazing with their care, compassion and willingness to provide support in whatever area they could. I am so incredibly grateful to their commitment and passion for the work they do, it made all the difference. Stacy, in particular, went out of her way to expedite and advocate for insurance purposes and just to be there for my questions and concerns. She is definitely a rare bird and I appreciate her so much. The care that you will get at AGH is definitely next level and I would recommend to anyone that Dr Farboud is the doctor to see.
Response: Good morning Mrs. Costlow, Thank you so very much for your kind comments and words. We always try to listen to the patient and hear their concerns and problems. We always strive to give our patients the comfort and confidence in their health and body. Thank you again. Sincerely, AGH of Greater Washington Management

Sarah: Dr. Farboud is the best GI doctor I've ever had. I've seen several doctors in many states over the years, and Dr. Farboud is the first doctor to spend time with me, search for a root cause of my problems, and create a treatment plan that truly makes my condition manageable. I would recommend him to anyone facing GI issues. The staff in his office are also kind, easy to work with, and overall fantastic.
Response: Thank you Sarah for your kind review. We all love seeing our patients leave the office with a sense of satisfaction and relief.

Response: Good morning Mr. Satten. Thank you so much for your kind words of confidence and your recommendations. Taking the best care possible is THE priority in our office for myself and my staff.

Just Me: Dr. Farboud is awesome. He takes his time to explain things; he is concern about his patients overall health; he is professional and knowledgeable; he do not over book patients, so there is no long wait times even with his level of attentiveness. Just awesome! Also the staff is great too. AP
Response: Thank you so much for your kind response. We strive to provide the best patient experience possible. Have a wonderful day.

Collin Church: Dr. Farboud is a very nice and thorough doctor. He really listened to what I was experiencing and went the extra mile where my other doctors wouldn’t. I highly recommend him.
Response: Thank you Collin for your kind words. Dr. Farboud has always strived to treat his patients the same way he would like any of his family members treated. We are very happy that you are feeling better. Be safe and stay healthy.

Jerwanah Timpson: Dr. Farboud is the best gastroenterologist I’ve seen. Very comforting and compassionate about his job. I’ve had GI issues for months and finally getting everything solve by going to his office.
Response: Thank you Ms. Timpson for the kind words. We all always strive to put our patient's needs first and won't settle until absolute satisfaction is achieved. Be safe and stay healthy.

Budd Scott: Dr. Farboud is extremely " down to Earth"! He makes every consultation, with you, in laymen's terms. Every procedure, he's performed, has me feeling like a ''brand new'' person!
Response: Good Morning Mr. Scott, Thank you so much for your kind words. We strive to make sure that patients understand all aspects of their care and leave the office with a full understanding of their health.

Jacqueline Anderson: I feel very comfortable and safe with Dr. Farboud and I value his opinion a lot and he is a very nice Doctor and I respect him a lot and I would recommend other people to him.
Response: Good morning Mrs. Anderson, Thank you so much for your kind words of confidence and for your recommendations.

Northern Virginia Gastrointestinal Associates: what do users think?

Susan Bachus: Dr. Goldstein is wonderful, which is why I suffer through this. But the Admin is AWFUL! I can NEVER get through to anyone. I have left repeated messages that the healow portal does not work for Dr. Goldstein's patients, and he confirmed this when I had my colonoscopy. But I just received yet ANOTHER email to access the portal for my polyp biopsy results. I was unable to reach anyone for 2 weeks for information about why my prep was suddenly changed to a torturous 2 day prep, and finally learned, at my procedure, that, as I suspected, it was because the SUTAB prep hadn't worked the last time--I have had other physicians confirm (in addition to the terrible online reviews) that Sutab doesn't work for many people. Suprep always works fine for me and I was going back to that. I couldn't even hold the interview with the pre-op nurse until the day I was supposed to start the prep because I wasn't on her schedule yet (when I had set it up 4 months previously when the Sutab didn't work!). It is INFURIATING to receive repeated emails telling me to use the portal or phone for any questions, when I have already complained that neither of those work! I have never received a call back after repeated messages asking for someone to CALL me.

Blake Richardson: Is this business even still operating?!? My GP gave me a referral to schedule an appointment with Dr. Stafford at this location, but unfortunately after a week of calling multiple times a day, leaving voicemails, and sending a message through their website I haven't been able to get in contact with anyone at this practice. I can't speak to the quality of the Doctors, or anyone else for that matter, only the answering machine...

Robyn Joffe: This low rating is not a reflection on the medical staff. I actually would have no way of evaluating them as there is something VERY wrong with the admin side of this practice. You cannot reach anyone -if you do get through you will be transferred to a mailbox and your call will not be returned.

Sindu Stephen M.D., F.A.C.P.: what do users think?

Kirk Copple: I scheduled a procedure with Dr Stephen and I had to wait 3 months to get an appointment. The week before they call me and tell me about a bunch of restrictions which I have to comply with. I can't comply with them so they cancelled my appointment. It's wrong to deny someone medical care because they can't comply with unnecessary restrictions.

Jim Fort: Dr. Stephen correctly diagnosed my issue and sent me to the best specialist in the field. She has been attentive and proactive in all our dealings.Highly recommend her.

CMS: EXCELLEnT Dr. and excellent care by Dr. Stephen and the Digestive Disease Physicians Group. I very much appreciated the personal interactions prior to and follow-up after my procedure. Dr. Stephen is thorough and clearly is expert in her field of medicine. I highly recommend this practice and physician.

Benjamin Shuman: Dr. Stephen is the kind of doctor that is both strikingly intelligent and patient centered at the same time. She is respectful to patients while being thoroughly an expert in her field. I think as her patient you will receive the best care and information you need in an environment where you can ask questions and take part in decision making. She is the best gastroenterologist I have met.

Amy D: I was referred to Dr. Stephen after an absolutely horrible experience with another gastroenterology practice in the area. Dr. Stephen is very straight-forward and no-nonsense while also being very supportive and obviously doing what is in the best interests of her patient. I had some scary GI/liver things going on and she helped get the GI things figured out, referred me to an amazing hepatologist for the liver stuff and thoroughly explained everything that was happening along the way. She has been a great partner in figuring out my various GI/liver issues and coming up with a long-term plan.

Sandy Schmidt: I love Dr. Steven. Who really wants to do a colonoscopy? No one! But she's professional, skilled, and friendly and and helps make the best of it. So happy to have been able to discover and remove polyps that were on track to become cancerous! Believe me, it's so much better to know! I was recommended for an early screening because a relative discovered he had colon cancer. Get checked!

Gina Spear: This is probably one of my favorite doctors. as much as I wish I didn't have to go see her, I am grateful for the amount of information, compassion, and details she gives me. She helped me figure out what was going on and was wonderful about explaining, giving me options, and just being present and not rude and judgmental. I really appreciate her.

Michelle Fernandez: Dr. Stephen is excellent. She has been very attentive and helpful, and quick with follow up. Her staff is wonderful. She listens and has taken the time to help me find out what has been going on. Highly recommend her, and her office.

Sveta Sh: Dr. Stephen recommended FODMAPdiet and it really helped my gi symptoms

Bahaa Ghammraoui: Very rude and lazy
