Sean Richey: After talking to several carpenters, we decided on Ross Campbell. This was mostly due to the positive online reviews we read, but reasonable cost was also a consideration. Ross’ positive reviews are all well-deserved, and I am writing to echo those sentiments with a rave review of my own. My wife and I had only a rough concept in mind for our home. We needed built-in shelves and additional storage space. We also like Greco-Roman themed architecture. Ross consulted with us to turn our rough concept into an aesthetically pleasing and practical reality. He sketched out detailed and precise drawings of what the finished product would look like. Ross is a true craftsman with an impeccable eye for detail. He is also a perfectionist. Don’t expect it to be fast. DO expect it to be right. And expect to be overjoyed with your finished product. Thanks, Ross. You get our highest recommendation. Services: Shelving/storage construction & installation , Paint indoors , Custom carpentry services , Cabinet construction & installation
April Harrison: My husband and I contracted Ross of Campbell Custom Carpentry to build us wall-to-wall bookshelves in our new house. As an avid reader and an academic, I’ve wanted a home library for as long as I can remember – and Ross made that dream into a beautiful reality. Ross was very responsive and thoughtful throughout the process of designing, building, and installing the shelves. We were impressed by his attention to detail and clear pride in his craft, and we really appreciated his ability to work on a tight timeline to have the shelves done before our first child was born. He took a simple sketch I drew and turned it into a functional and aesthetic centerpiece for our formal living room. Even though we still don’t have any furniture in there, it’s become our favorite room in the house! We would definitely recommend working with Campbell Custom Carpentry if you’re looking to add value and personality to your home with a high-quality, reasonably priced project. Service: Installation
Howie Cohen: Ross provided excellent design and installation of two beautiful bookcases in our home. His work is exceptionally detailed and professionally executed. We are extremely happy with his professional craftsmanship and the final products he built for us.
Melissa Huggins: Ross created 2 custom built ins in our home. His attention to detail and professionalism were top notch. We couldn’t be happier with the finished product!
Preston Hardage: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueHe was very professional and thoughtful to my custom project. His attention to detail is top shelf and pricing was very reasonable. He built a custom project for my church and made it look like it has been there all along. Thanks!

Jennifer Terry: Nash and his team did a fantastic job! They took an old dingy bathroom and made it into a showpiece! They even managed to build me a much needed linen closet in the process! They were professional came every single day on time. I have never had anyone perform such amazing work and deliver exactly what I imagined the space could be. I undoubtedly recommend them for any home project, big or small. John Morris: We hired Nash and his crew to renovate our Glover Park townhouse in DC. Specifically to open up the first floor, renovate the kitchen and an upstairs bathroom. We subsequently re-hired him to add a deck, and additional basement storage room and do some hardscaping in the back of our house. Nash is a great communicator and always keeps you in the loop with decisions which need to be made without overwhelming you. He is very responsive and has a great eye for aesthetics and how to make challenging situations work in old houses! The members of his crew are very polite, skilled and professional as well. I would highly recommend him for any home project, he is great to work with. Services: Remodeling , Exterior finishing , Home renovations , Bathroom remodeling , Patio construction , Kitchen remodeling , Roof repair
Linda Spencer: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessGreat company to work with. Extensive knowledge and helped us navigate the plans/permit process. Sherry Wilkins: Carpenters of Georgetown was the “Go To” for my renovation & home improvements projects. With that said, you will definitely experience the best from this company … Excellence in customer service, quality in service and most of all great pricing. I was pleased with the completion of my home improvement projects … As they were all completed with professionalism, care, as well as being on time and right at budget. I highly recommend them for the best and quality services in the DMV (Washington, DC) area. Services: Drywall repair , Flooring , Outdoor lighting installation , Fan repair , General repairs & maintenance , Electrical outlet & switch installation , Home construction
Jim Helmink: An absolutely fabulous experience for a total Georgetown townhouse renovation. The work his team does is top notch, the work was completed on time, his pricing was accurate, and communication was excellent. I was able to track the project from several states away, get my questions answered promptly, and always felt like he was being fair. What I really appreciate is his knowledge of Georgetown homes in particular. It takes a special talent to refresh a historical property in Georgetown and he was able to completely update our home while maintaining its historical exterior. I would highly recommend working with Carpenters of Georgetown on any renovation project that you have.
Benjamin Blue: A referral from our realtor. And what a blessing. These guys are on point and amazing. From design, to permitting and having our house professionally cleaned. We are through happy with Nash and his crew. The thing we loved the most about this company is that they take pride in their work and have incredible following through. They came back 6 months later to address minor issues and didn’t blink and eye doing it. #service #quality Services: Remodeling , Waterproofing , Install flooring , Tile work installation , Drywall installation , General construction
Rafael Peinado: We bought a house that Carpenters of Georgetown flipped. Just a week after we moved in, the basement was flooded (pictures attached). We contacted Nash on the phone and email many times, and he finally replied with a short: ¨I will be in touch shortly.¨ That gave us hope that he would actually do something to help us repair their terrible job. He never got in touch again, I guess we have called him more than 50 times and at least the same amount of emails, you can imagine the frustration generated by this person and his company after making the biggest investment of our life. For what I see, I not only think he is not a great developer, but he is also a coward that runs away from problems. In fact, we talked to him before buying the house and he said things like: ¨I wouldn´t sell a house that is not safe¨ or ¨It´s not necessary to get a home warranty¨. We trusted him and that was our big mistake. Obviously, I don´t recommend them at all, but if you are going to do anything with him, make him provide you a warranty so you won´t have to be chasing him (and losing time and patience) the week after he leaves. We have already spent a good amount of money fixing the basement (and many more things) and we just have the option of suing him, something that we didn´t want. I guess by doing this we will finally get a response from him...
Justin Gill: Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueWe wanted to use a local company who specialized in older homes. We nailed it with these guys. Showed up every day at 7:00 and knocked our project out a couple days faster than originally projected. Staff was efficient and kind. They cleaned up very well. They completed 2 bathrooms and painted our main level.Services: Remodeling, Paint indoors, Tile work installation, Drywall installation, General construction
Jennifer Jamison: Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ResponsivenessWe just had our kitchen done, and wow!! We wanted a lower budget project and was surprised that they would take on our project. Quick and easy and we are so happy. We usually don’t leave reviews but wanted to share our happiness.Services: Remodeling, General construction

Gary Berman: This is the second time I have used CC for installation of closet systems. My first experience was stellar leading to using them again. My second experience was not. Not only was the design poor and inefficient, it cost me more money because more wood was needed than necessary. The installer was sloppy in the installation. CC rebuilt part of my closet system because they agreed on the poor design and poor quality installation - good for them. But their redesign did not entirely fix the problem. Still there is a section of the closet needing repair and the re-installer was not prepared to fix it on site, so now they have to come back for a third time causing us to remove everything from the closet again. My recommendation is to study the plans and ask more questions than I did. My designer, Colleen Cuff, was newer to CC and that should have been a red flag. Lastly, CC did not refund me the amount of money that was wasted in the original design which they estimate was about $370 out of $8,000. Service: Cabinet construction & installation
Elizabeth Nova: I have used California Closets in 3 houses and their work is exceptional and the quality outstanding. My designer was pleasant, efficient and did an amazing job designing a new pantry and 3 large closets. The installer was on time and did an incredible job putting it all together and cleaning up after. The materials are so strong and dyrable and very beautiful. Shelves are adjustable. Please express my deep appreciation to the designer and installer. CC is worth every penny and I highly recommend them. Services: Cabinetry & hardware design , Kitchen design , Closet design
CH: Over the years I had excellent experiences with California Closet. Although the company exchanged hands. But, nevertheless I had the installations of my closets in my two condos by their excellent Designers and Installers. In the past, I worked with Marsha, Designer, and Ralph the installer; and most recently with Colleen Cuff, Designer who I highly recommend for her professionalism, efficiency, experience and follow-up through the installation phase. The installer Mr. Dong was just superb, efficient, courteous, meticulous and the work was flawless. Definetely I would recommend their services. Services: Cabinet construction & installation , Cabinetry & hardware design , Closet design
Wendy Patten: I used this company to install wall to wall bookshelves. I wanted something that we aesthetic but could really handle all my books. The designer did a great job meeting with us to review our needs and what we wanted. She kept flexible and submitted several options. We chose our favorite option. The installation was done in one day and done well. There was a need to come back for a small correction and they did a great job with that as well.
Carol Weiss: California Closets designed and installed a home office — wraparound desk with shelving, drawers, special inside cabinet for printer, etc. The designer did an excellent job translating my vision into a highly detailed concept drawing that fit some tricky dimensions including a window on one side of the desk. The designer provided options and guidance for materials and colors, and ensured the design was exactly what we wanted. Installation was meticulously carried out; the two techs were extremely professional and everything fit perfectly. They also thoroughly cleaned up poop afterwards. California Closets created a functional and high quality home office at a fraction of the cost that a custom design contractor would charge. We couldn’t be more pleased. Service: Custom furniture
Kendra Bacchus: The design process with Reza was great. My needs were taken into consideration 99% of the time. I knew what I wanted prior to meeting which made the process smooth. Once I signed off on design and made a deposit I waited roughly 3 months….which was expected in the height of the pandemic. When the installers arrived- the process took an entire day( was expected) the installer Franklin worked efficiently and communicated well when an issue would arise. At the end of the build Franklin walked me through the builds (Main closet and Laundry room). I was very pleased with the work executed. Later on after the installers left- my husband noticed that we were not able to access the water or electrical in Laundry room if an emergency were to occur-I promptly notified my designer and he said it was missed during the install and was in the original design. I also realized I could use a few more shelves in my main closet so I was able to order additional. It took a few months for the shelves to come in as well as the update to the missed opening for the laundry room. The shelves were not the right size and the opening that was cut was vey shotty. The new installer was able to cut shelves on site ( not the best quality) and the hole that was cut in order for us to access the water for washing machine was a mess… the integrity of the unit was compromised and I was told I could lose an entire shelf of storage. So…..waited a few more months a supervisor inspected the unit in laundry room, was told that the entire side needed to be replaced. Fast forward to a few more months….Installer came in tried to repair hole by using drywall caulk and blue painters tape. Not happy and I was told that they will be ordering a new panel …..still waiting. I paid for all services 100% (1 year of waiting for correction). Although I was extremely pleased with the overall install- my experience has deteriorated with how the small mistake has turned into uncertainty of the quality of my laundry room build. My designer Rena was excellent and the initial installer Franklin did an impeccable job with both the main closet and laundry room, so sad that a small miss made such a huge impact on overall service. Service: Closet design
AJ Finkelstein: I wanted to turn a mudroom into a pantry by lining it with open shelves. before I moved into my "new" 100-year-old house. The CC rep seemed a little doubtful at first but she embraced the concept. We spent one very productive evening on design and the deed was done. It took many months to get installed, which was a bit annoying, but it went smoothly when it finally happened. And the pantry is excellent, Service: Cabinet construction & installation
Neiletta Wright: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessI’ve had 3 closets done by California Closets and I’ve been satisfied everytime. My sales rep Jean-Paul was very professional and always available to answer any questions that I had. He also understood my vision and helped me create a closet that was best catered to my needs. Definitely recommend.
