Treasure Trove Foreign Currency Exchange: what do users think?
Cholly E.
Cholly E.: Great customer service! He was fast and very knowledgeable about the exchange rates. I will definitely be returning in the future.
Response: Thanks for the kind words, always appreciated.
anna saint john
anna saint john: good rate, very convenient, in-and-out service. i cannot believe this is the only place in downtown washington, dc to exchange money with less than a week’s notice!
Response: Thanks for the kind words Anna.
Patrick Whittle
Patrick Whittle: Much better exchange rates than Travelex. They held my currency overnight after I called, and were professional, friendly and accurate when I got there next morning. They are cash-for-cash so hit your ATM ahead of time.
Alex Lemley
Alex Lemley: Wonderful experience. I came in with a substantial amount of dollars (and a bag of change) needing to be converted into Euros and they helped me immediately. AND while I was waiting even offered to clean my wedding ring set for me. Will be coming back again and referring all my friends. Thank you!
Edwin Muchiri
Edwin Muchiri: Efficient Only buy rate listed(how much they buy your foreign currency Biggest negative is $5 fee Yahoo exchange rate was £1=$1.30 They bought my £ @ $1.19 They minted $16 not accounting for money to be made selling my £
Response: Sorry for the two star review Edwin, but if you go on our website it has both the buy and sell rates. If you call me or email me I’ll be glad to give you any rate at any time. As far as the fee is Concerned, my closest competitor charges a $10 exchange fee. My five dollar fee is my commission, everyone has to make a living.
steve galkin
steve galkin: Had 5 different currencies and there was a fee for each one. Fortunately, they’re rates were good and the gentleman there was very helpful.
Michael
Michael: Very friendly and professional. The foreign currency requested was available in 1 day as promised. The three major banks i contacted needed 3 to 5 business days.

Metro Currency Exchange: what do users think?
Steve Ledvina
Steve Ledvina: Easy and convenient. Call before you go to confirm that they have your currency and are open- the nature of the business is that they could run out anytime . I arrived at 10 and buzzed up with no answer. I called and he said he’d be there in 30 minutes. No problem at all, I just exchanged the currencies a couple hours later when I was passing by again. Buzz into the door, enter the door marked 2 for second floor and it’s immediately on your right.
Steve Clark Hall
Steve Clark Hall: So glad I found this place. It was open on a saturday and I was able to get the euros I needed at a very competitive rate. Once at the airport, I checked the rates of the currency exchanges and was stunned at the high commissions that others charge. Thanks Mohammed, it was a pleasure doing business with you.
Response: You're welcome Mr Steve, it was pleasure serving you too, enjoy your trip.
Tkfkdfo
Tkfkdfo: Metro Currency Exchange is the best currency exchange business I have encountered thus far in the DC metro area. Mohammed, the manager, is an absolute pleasure to work with in exchanging foreign dollars and coins. I was exchanging currency from USD to WON, and he had the best rates out of all the DC metro area businesses. He went above and beyond in customer service. I cannot believe this business even exists. I was in a hurry from the airport and, he offered to meet me there at a time that was convenient for me. Absolutely unheard of! I cannot recommend him enough. His personality and respect for his customers entails high customer service ratings, which is evidenced here in these other reviews. If you ever need currency exchange, call ahead of time to make sure they have the amount you need. The website has a call number and a text number. I texted him and received a response within 24 hours. I will come here again to exchange currency when I travel. Contact them and see for yourself. You will not regret it!
Matt Lappat
Matt Lappat: Better rates than AAA, banks, and other exchange vendors. His flat rate fee and his selling rate are both better. And, the gentleman that runs the operation was very nice. As always, call ahead and make sure he has enough of the currency on hand that you want.
Heather Adams
Heather Adams: Mohammed has great rates and excellent customer service! He did not have enough paper currency that I wanted for the UK and sold me all of his coins at a discount. Well, this turned out to be ssssooooooo convenient as the public bus transportation there only accepted coins and I had no problems paying for miscellaneous items with the other coins. Thanks a bunch, Mohammed!
Judith Knight
Judith Knight: Metro Currency Exchange is very conveniently located at 817 Kings St Alexandria. It’s across from the Greek restaurant, Taverna Cretekou; in a shared secured building where you have to key in the relevant number at the door inorder for the relevant business to let you enter. Once inside it’s up one floor through the door marked 2 and then turn right and go straight down to the end of corridor. It’s a small very efficiently run Bureau de Change with great rates, broad range of currencies always available, and fantastic staff. The last two times I went, Mohammed served me and it was such a pleasure. I travel often and this place is now my number one choice for any currency stuff. Thoroughly recommended.
Maya Arundhati Ghosh Dutta
Maya Arundhati Ghosh Dutta: The gentleman who owns the place is very professional. He stayed beyond his close time of 6pm so that I could make it from DC to exchange rates. He was very patient throughout the process andgave the best rates

Currency Exchange International: what do users think?
Holly Gerberich
Holly Gerberich: So convenient! I love having local currency BEFORE I leave for my trips and these guys make is so easy. Just be sure to do it several days in advance of your departure to give them enough time to get the currency.
Alexander O'Neill
Alexander O'Neill: Incredibly helpful. We were running a bit late and called ahead and their team was willing to wait for us. Call ahead to order currencies other than those listed in the photos — we order Icelandic Kronurs in advance
Response: Hello Alexander, Thank you for choosing CXI and for your feedback! We truly do strive to meet our customers’ needs, and we are pleased to know that you enjoyed your experience. We appreciate your business and will be looking forward to servicing your foreign currency needs again in the near future. Happy Travels, CXI Team
Alan Weisman

Keisha Harris
Keisha Harris: I placed an order online and picked up at the kiosk. Very easy and straightforward.
Kathy Penn
Kathy Penn: Positive: ProfessionalismFirst visit, was told there was none of the currency I needed, but she wrote down my information and what I needed. I was notified when the currency was available. No problems getting it. Friendly service and coupon on the web site if you sign up for emails.
Temi Kasali
Temi Kasali: Very rude and saucy manager they charged me $5 for the exchange rate customer service is zero it all about the money they want to make from you. If you want to be treated like a criminal for currency exchange you can come here better still just go into your bank to order for your foreign currency
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with the service you received. We would like to clarify that we do offer an online coupon for 50% off the standard exchange fee and we offer a Best Rate Match guarantee in which we can match our rates with any bank or airport. It was also never our intention to make you feel like a criminal. As a foreign currency provider, there are certain standard procedures that may be interpreted as offensive, though not intended, such as verifying the authenticity of the currency that any customer is exchanging. Similar to a bank, we are responsible and federally mandated to ensure that all currency coming in or going out is valid. We truly apologize for this experience and hope that we can have the opportunity to better service you in the future.

Currency Exchange International: what do users think?
Subbir Khondhaker
Subbir Khondhaker: I have used this currency exchange outlet for the longest time; however, I visited the location today and had the worst experience. Their business hours ends at 7pm on Saturdays. I arrived at the location at 6:45pm and the guy was working in the booth said he already closed the safe and it won’t be open until tomorrow which is wrong information because I have made transactions at the last minute many times. The attitude and expression he had was “I don’t care about your business.” He kept on shrugging his shoulder saying “nothing can be done, come back tomorrow.” My recommendation would be if you can avoid this location to avoid bad experience.
Response: Hi Subbir, I am very sorry to hear about your experience at Tysons Corner. We were currently still open for business so you should have been taken care of. I can assure you that this will not happen again in the future, as we do not tolerate this level of service. We would like to extend 50% off your fee on your next visit.
Sanjay Srikantiah
Sanjay Srikantiah: Critical: Professionalism, QualityCashier spoke through microphone which could heard by everyone in the Tysons Mall. Very poor customer service. Don’t go here.
Response: Hi Sanjay, Since there are barriers in place and a mask being worn by staff and most clients, we must use the microphone in place to communicate. Unfortunately, without the microphone, you would be unable to hear the teller and properly confirm your request. At your request the microphone volume can be turned down, however with it off the transaction would likely be botched. On your next visit, please be sure to request the volume to be adjusted to your liking. Happy Travels, CXI Team
Amy Stein
Amy Stein: I needed to exchange Pounds for US Dollars. The exchange rate was extremely reasonable along with a very low service charge. The service was quick and efficient. It was much easier than dealing with my bank and the exchange rate was fair better than I would have been able to obtain at the airport.
Tom Brandner
Tom Brandner: Matt and Alexus at the Tyson Corners location were very helpful today with my traction. Great customer service and will work with you for all your foreign exchange needs. I called Alexus on Tuesday and ordered Israeli Shekels and Jordanian dollars for a trip we are taking in a few days. They had my exchange ready by Thursday afternoon!
Paul Rose
Paul Rose: Located at the far end (opposite from Bloomingdales) of Tysons One Mall this booth on the upper level has knowledgeable personnel and a trove of foreign funds with clearly posted exchange rates. They say they will order currencies that are currently not available at that location or more currency that they usually have on hand but are temporarily out of or short of (allow appropriate time). Also, they state that if you keep your receipt they will buy back any remaining funds you care to sell to them without an exchange fee.

Meg Earsley
Meg Earsley: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueGreat experience! I called ahead and they were able to have my bolivianos ready and waiting for me at a fair exchange rate and super low processing fee. It requires being out of the airport but the reviews for the airport exchanges were just too scary!
Response: Hello Meg, Thank you for choosing CXI and for your feedback! We truly do strive to meet our customers’ needs, and we are pleased to know that you enjoyed your experience. Peter Bistransin
Peter Bistransin: Poor communication concerning fees and most not going to CXI. They could of written instructions on the web site that told me about the 3% credit card fee most retailers do not charge that fee. They could of told me about the cash advance fee. Both fees cost me over $50. Sad thing is I had the cash in the bank to cover the purchase. The girl at the booth only informed me of the visa fee just before the transaction without giving me other options. Nothing mentioned about a cash advance fee. The fees CXI charges are reasonable but with the visa and bank fees it made exchange expensive. THE RESPONSE BELOW IS WRONG! YOU DID CHARGE MY ACCOUNT AS A CASH ADVANCE WITHOUT TELLING ME. AND NOW YOU ARE NOT TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT IT IN YOUR GOOGLE RESPONSE. MY BANK WAS ISSUING ME A DAILY CHARGE FOR THE CASH ADVANCE.
Response: Hello Peter, I would like to first thank you for choosing CXI and for taking the time to give us your feedback. We do not charge any credit cards as a cash advance. The cash advance was charged through your credit card provider and is at their sole discretion to do such per their policies. The information about credit card charges is also located on our website in the about section on the Arundel Mills Mall page. Unfortunately, we have no control over the banks processes when using credit cards. Please reach out to the branch, and we could try to speak with the bank on your behalf to reduce your cash advance fees. Happy Travels, CXI Team
Belinda T
Belinda T: Don’t bother ordering your money here as it never turns up! Rang and asked how long currency will take to arrive and advised it will arrive if ordered before 2pm in 24 hours. Rang 2 days later and was told it’s on its way. Rang on day 5 advised they don’t know when it will arrive, day 6 still no money so too late had to leave. Customer service was aweful over the phone
Response: Hello Belinda, We apologize that your currency did not arrive on time. Orders typically take 24-72 hours during the weekday, however our carrier experienced severe delays which are beyond our control. We did our best in keeping you updated with information as it came to us. We again apologize that your currency did not arrive on time to be of any use to you. If ever you need to order a currency that is not readily available, we will extend to you no service fee. Do keep in mind, we are subject to delays beyond our control that could take up to a week. Happy Travels, CXI Team
Kori Jess
Kori Jess: Super easy! I did reserve online for euros ahead of time but I didn’t need to, they had them on hand. They were ready, no line and fast service and the fee was super super cheap!
Response: Hello Kori, Thank you for choosing CXI and for your feedback! We truly do strive to meet our customers’ needs, and we are pleased to know that you enjoyed your experience. We appreciate your business and will be looking forward to servicing your foreign currency needs again in the near future. Happy Travels, CXI Team
fred maccormack
fred maccormack: This is not my first experience with CXI and their very professional, customer oriented service. I have used them for previous overseas trips to various countries and each time they have been able to quickly accommodate my needs. In this instance both Jada and Wally were able to assist both my wife and I as we plan our next trip and needed foreign currency quickly. Jada took our initial call she was polite, friendly and very helpful and was able to quote a great rate and time when we could pick it up. When we arrived the funds were not on site yet. Wally, who was on duty informed us of the issue and offered several alternatives if we did not want to wait. We told him we would return later. However, it was Wally who took the initiative to call us when the funds were available earlier than expected. Just super impressed with the staff and their professionalism and great customer service. Fred M
Lisa Rae Brooks
Lisa Rae Brooks: They were incredibly upfront and open about their inventory, which made it very easy for me to schedule my trip there, as I live 30 miles away. They also explained company policies. I was very pleased with the entire transaction.
Joe Loll
Joe Loll: This place is a SCAM!!! The exchange rate they use is completely different from the actual exchange rate. They shorted me $8!!! I will not be using their services again.
Response: Good afternoon Mr.Loll, We are sorry you did not have an exchange that met your expectation. The exchange rate we charge is different from the indication rate which is publicly posted online. The indication rate is not used at any exchange establishments and is for indication purposes only. We do have a best rate guarantee and are comparable to other local like businesses. We would like to extend a 50% off exchange fee on your next service if you visit with us again. We can also guarantee a great rate at any point in exchange. Thank you for your business.

John Tarver
John Tarver: Great place for currency exchange, Ask for Sue. I have been ordering cash from them for years now (MX Peso, COP, GBP, Euros,Rupees, etc.) every transaction has been perfect. Much better rates than in airports, hotels in most 2nd and 3rd world countries. Thanks for all the help Sue!
Nabi Bakhsh
Nabi Bakhsh: Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueWorst service. The lady treats you like your a homeless and asking for free money. If you want to exchange money, go to your bank, their rate is better, and they treat you professionally.
Response: Hi Nabi, We apologize you experienced a less than positive interaction with the teller. It is our priority to make all customers feel valued before, during, and after exchanging with us. We do have a Best Rate Guarantee where we are able to match any local bank if they have a better rate and are more than happy to do so. In the event you would like to work with us in the future, please accept a 50% off your transaction fee.
Carlos Estrada
Carlos Estrada: I went to exchange some Russian and Vietnamese money that I had from work trips I took earlier this year. I was assisted by a very nice young lady who took care of me right away. The exchange was done really smoothly and I didnt have to give too much of my information which made it even quicker ( I hate slow service). The location was easy to spot and I had an overall positive experience. Will most definitely bring my business back to them next time I need money exchanged.
Luis Melendez
Luis Melendez: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueSue went above and beyond the call of duty.... the very reason I come to you guys!!!! I love you guys!!!!
Aaron Fieldman
Aaron Fieldman: Just got back from the exchange at potomac mills, had some euros left over from my trip to Germany. Took it to my bank first but found out they had some expensive rates and fees for a few Euros. Anyways, found this place online -- they had pretty good rates compared to the banks.
Xavier Xavier
Xavier Xavier: Critical: ValueDunno this place felt like a rip off, they short hand you on what they can offer you and on top of it they charge an additional fee. It will be nice if they told you of these fees prior to completing the transaction.

Bureau of Engraving and Printing: what do users think?
Kailash Mota
Kailash Mota: A must visit place, if you happen to tour / visit Washington DC. The admission is absolutely free, though you have to take a free ticket. The tour of this place takes about 30 minutes. Except in the reception / entrance area, photography is banned. The Souvenir stores has some memorable items that you can carry for your memories. Its a guided tour and guides explain the entire currency printing process in detail while you actually get to see the currencies being printed. All in all a must visit place while touring this region
Jack Chambless
Jack Chambless: Took my sons here years ago and it was an extremely educational and exciting experience. They were amazed by all they learned and we loved how well run and thoughful this place was.
Terry Trent
Terry Trent: After the several visits to DC over the years, I never stopped to visit this spot until this visit. Very nice to visit. Could only see the outside.
Kristie Pecka
Kristie Pecka: Fun tour to see the making of printed bills. Tour with a guide, no head sets as described in previous reviews. Short and sweet... 30 min. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Lei Wang
Lei Wang: Free admission but you need to pick up tickets behind the building in 15th St. basically to book your free tour. The tour is very informative and useful.
Diego Villatoro
Diego Villatoro: It was a good experience and it was very interesting
Gail Neeley
Gail Neeley: This was the most disappointing tour I had while in DC. You have to go through so much security because you observe money being printed, but in reality it would be like touring any other printing shop. The interaction between the tour guide and the tour is poor. You line up on a catwalk to see the process and the tour guide talks over a loud speaker. It would have been much more interesting if they would have spend some time on the engraving process, perhaps with invitations or stamps.
Wynde Sprinkle
Wynde Sprinkle: No where on their web site does it say it is closed. Very disappointed! Please update your website.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission: what do users think?
Brian Pratt
Brian Pratt: Corrupt. The American people have lost faith in our markets and those who are supposed to help regulate. Gary Gensler is a Goldman phony. Works for the banks and Hedgefunds not Main St. Spineless, pathetic organization that is responsible for allowing trillions of dollars to be stolen from the American Public though Dark Pool and Naked Shorting.
William Lolli
William Lolli: When an agency of government tasked by the People and the Rule of Law to protect the investing Public violates the public trust by abandoning standards of clarity for policies of enforcement, secret meetings, and nod-winking innuendos which deliberately result in markets and technologies being manipulated to the personal benefit of current and former agency leadership, the agency has lost all public trust and itself should be in danger of collapse by the weight of its own corruption. -- Such is the case of the SEC. A failed agency, failing in its mission, boasting of its moral superiority, aiding in the establishment of market monopolies and crushing innovation.
W R
W R: This place is rather corrupt. They told me I need $25,000 to place multiple trades in a day for my own "protection." Then also let brokers who were about to go bankrupt from a liquidity crisis to disable my ability to exchange on the stock market.
Luis G.
Luis G.: Is possible to give 0 stars? The American people need you and your organization is turning your back on us. When history looks back on the 2020’s they will remember how the SEC left it’s countries people stranded and suffering shortly after a pandemic wiped out many of their businesses and jobs.
Jeremy Kintz
Jeremy Kintz: Seems kinda worthless. Only protect Wall St while ignoring Main St. They say they work for our protection. If you can play the lottery, join the military for legal murder, and buy as much alcohol as you want, then you should be able to trade your money as you see fit.
Michael Andrews
Michael Andrews: SEC should be embarrassed for not taking action to make markets fair, casinos are better regulated than wallstreet. We need same day settlements, end all dark pools they are being abused and not used for their intended purposes. How do you let a broker stop buying but not selling. Please SEC get it together.
CH K
CH K: Staff attorneys are also great law school professors!
Sonny Bara
Sonny Bara: Failed to protect the retail investor. That’s literally their #1 job!!! They help hedge funds rob money from the people they are supposed to protect.
Ad1eUK
Ad1eUK: Corruption runs rife, they offer no protection to the retail public. Gary Gensler has let everyone down and will remembered for such!

Lady working there was very pleasant. However, I do wish the pickup location was in Virginia Beach rather than at the Norfolk mall.
Ann Maliniak
Ann Maliniak: I wish the rate had been better, but it was convenient. I had a small issue with my transaction, but I contacted the company manager and she took care of the issue to my satisfaction. I appreciated her concern and it made a difference.
DeAnna Moreland
DeAnna Moreland: Tiffany was so helpful and very nice. She explained the process and made my daughter feel comfortable. Glad we went there for ok ur currency exchange.
roger moore
roger moore: I use currency exchange international a few times a year. It is undoubtably the best place in hampton roads. The rates are very competitive and considering that most banks dont take foreign currencies and the airport is a rip off, there really is no other option.
Sarah Tip
Sarah Tip: Horribly staffed. Rude lady. They apparently don’t accept coins. It’d have been nice if I hat was published somewhere other than right at the front. Thanks for nothing
Response: Hello Sarah, We have great news! Starting August 2019, we are now able to exchange 2 pound and euro coins. The full list of coins we exchange is: 1 & 2 EUR, 1 & 2 CAD, 1 & 2 GBP, 10 & 20 MXN. No other foreign coins are exchanged. Anything outside of these coins, we still recommend donating them to the UNICEF Change For Good program. (http://www.unicefusa.org/supporters/organizations/businesses/partners/aa/change-good) We hope this helps many travelers such as yourself as its very difficult to find places to exchange these coins once back in the US. Happy Travels, CXI Team
Jeffery Day
Jeffery Day: Unable to exchange currency I have.
Response: Hello Jeffery, Similar to other FX businesses, we can only accept bills that are still in circulation. Bills not currently in circulation are not considered legal tender by the government, therefore we cannot accept them. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you need any future rates, feel free to reach out to us! Happy Travels, CXI Team
