Megan Barnes: I recently was able to have Occasions Caterer my wedding, and it was one of the best decisions I made in the wedding planning process. Danielle listened to what was special to my husband and I and created an exquisite menu weaving in the meal we made together at our first date. The staff and team executed service for a 125 person wedding like it was a small intimate dinner in their home. I was so impressed by the food taste especially because our venue did not have a kitchen, but they had that down to a science. You will not regret selecting Occasions as your caterer. Look no further.

Tina Behnke Spencer: We recently worked with Sydney and Joel from Occasions Caterers for two different events to keep the unconditioned spaces comfortable with heat in December. My goodness, these fine folks are food wizards! Two totally different venues and completely different clients -- one was corporate and the other was a Bat Mitzvah -- BOTH were fantastic! They were professional with their staff and focused on the client. And from a vendor view they made it easy for us to do our work. Highly recommend!

Ashlea Yale: Have not had their food. Review is related to communication efforts when attempting to book an event. Responsiveness was slow- I had to follow up numerous times for a quote. When I finally heard back, they refused to write a proposal because the price per head I was quoted from 4 days before had changed "based on my venue" (which had not changed). The increased price was over $35 a person and then did not include beverages. I am not upset about the increased price- as I understand the venue I selected does not have kitchen features so more preparation and equipment must be utilized. I am frustrated at the lack of responsiveness and thoroughness with the communication. Don't send package information if your client has already notified you of a venue that you charge more for and the prices on your packet don't apply. Be respectful of potential customers time- I shouldn't need to contact you 5+ times to obtain a quote. Everyone is busy right now, but that includes your customers.

Olivia Prinzi: Occasions is the best of the best. Second to none. Some of my favorite people in the DMV. I’ve attended several of their events throughout the years and they truly stand apart from the rest. Occasions isn’t just a remarkable catering company with brilliant ideas and exceptional experiences, but they are an incredible team of chefs, creatives, thinkers and service savants innovating on how food and beverage is enjoyed at parties. Their menus go above and beyond. Their service team always makes me feel like I'm at my own kitchen table. If you’re looking for more than just a catering company, Occasions it is. Strongly consider them for your next event, you won’t be disappointed.

Dana George: I don't even know where to start?? You and your team were absolutely incredible. My guests have not stopped talking about the food, the service, and just the way that everything APPEARED to be done so effortlessly. You all did not skip a beat. The food-When we came to the tasting everything was so incredibly delicious. The presentation of the food was phenomenal-the plating, the stations, the cocktails-all were absolutely gorgeous. Multiple guests had approached us that night telling us that this was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding! The service-Wow! Where did you find your staff?? They treated my guests just like we were treated the day that we came in for our tasting-nothing but professionalism, friendliness, and were easily accessible when our guests needed anything! Charissa-Hello?!?! I know it was our wedding day but we were treated like royalty by Charissa. She was exceptional! I would have a sip left to my champagne glass and Charissa would be right there with a full glass of bubbly waiting for me. I would turn around to look for someone that I needed for something(it wasn't even food/beverage related)and Charissa was there to offer to assist me in any way. She would just appear out of no where, though not intrusive or overbearing in any way. Suzanne had been so wonderful from the very beginning. She was so professional, kind, and a true leader, not to mention very type A which I love...lol! This wouldn't have been so perfectly orchestrated if it wasn't for her hard work & dedication. Thank you for making our day so special! You have exceeded beyond our expectations!

Rachel Berman: We had a very poor experience using this catering company for our baby naming. They completely went rogue day of and did not follow our “run of show” discussed in our proposal. They seemed understaffed for our event and there were many communication mishaps and issues between the account executive and the on site team that led to big mistakes such as forgetting to set up all of our floral center pieces as well as serving our food self service buffet style instead of a served buffet setup. Initially, the account executive we were working with tried to deflect blame in the most ridiculous of ways for their internal errors. The whole experience was just an unprofessional poorly managed and executed mess and it took away from our enjoyment of the event. I would highly recommend going with a more competent catering company.

Daniel Sweeney: Occasions caterers specializes in catering for special events. We contracted them to to cater our wedding in Washington DC. They have a wife variety of menu options and have worked all across the DMV area, so they are very familiar with how to work in most venues. We were at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. They were very professional and arrived on-time, set up for everything they needed, and coordinated well with our planners and other vendors. Their servers were all very professional and attentive during our wedding. The bartenders were very good, combining good personality with good service at the bar. Overall, we were very pleased with how Occasions performed at our Wedding. The food was also very good.

Ronda Sharman: We received a catered dinner delivered to our airbnb as part of our package for the Middleburg Film Festival. The food was exceptional. Everyone in our party was blown away by the freshness, tastiness and creativity of the menu. Now we are all dreaming of post Covid dinner parties. Kaia Amoah: I used VIP Catering for my wedding on May 7th and at every step of the way Josh and his team at VIP Catering were the upmost professionals. I am so grateful to them for their professionalism, quality, and simply kindness during the whirlwind of what is wedding planning. I am also so happy that I used them to help execute such an important day in my life. I initially went on site to VIP Catering for a tasting a few weeks prior to my wedding and even from Day 1 I could not help but be impressed with this company. Josh specifically was amendable, listened intently to what we wanted and what we did not want and even said he could order additional linens and other items to fit exactly what I envisioned for the wedding. During the tasting, the food was absolutely incredible and did not have the mass processed taste that I would expect from a large caterer. It was nutritious and had a phenomenal presentation. A couple of weeks later, Josh asked that we meet him at the wedding venue to get an idea of the layout, kitchen prep area, etc. He stayed with me for an extended time and was patient as I went back and forth on the most minute details of the wedding. I thought this meeting was incredibly necessary and showed the commitment to professionalism and meeting the highest of standards. During the wedding they remained consistent and even out did my expectations. They were on time and worked diligently with my wedding planner to set up tables and even remove the staged furniture from the venue. The staff were incredibly classy and well dressed which only added to the ambiance of the wedding. Every detail from the table placings, to the food was spectacular and beyond what I could have imagined. As my friend put, "The food was the best wedding food I have ever tasted." Even a week later my friends raved about certain meal items including the Au Gratin Potatoes. I thank Josh and VIP Catering for everything and making this the wedding of my dreams!

The food is great, the staff is professional and they have saved me with last minute request more time than I can count. I definitely refer them for all of your cooperate and personal needs. During the pandemic, they have come up with the most innovative and unique ways to prepare individually packaged meals. I recently had a small happy hour and they provided single packaged happy hour food. I was nervous at the thought but seeing is believing and the clients loved it!

With little time to make arrangements and our initial Catering choice NOT responding to our requests and inquiries we contacted VIPS and Josh was ON IT from the first contact through menu selection, delivery, set up, and pick up of VIPS supplies. He LISTENED to our wishes and preferences including an EXCELLENT yellow cake and came through with flying colors. Food was great, price was right and the whole experience was outstanding. Stephanie T. Grandy: VIPS Catering does not disappoint! The dishes are always beautifully put together, and they come on nice platters/plates/bowls instead of the cheap plastic trays! It's top quality food and service at a great price. They retrieve all their dishware the following morning, even if its dirty (I usually try to wash them before returning but they are quick!). No complaints. I genuinely enjoy ordering from them and look forward to ordering from them in the future.

Remembered Events: We’ve worked with RSVP many times and most recently in November for an event at Jammin Java. They were such a great team to work with and flexible to making updates and changes when we needed to because of Covid. The day of team was so kind and attentive to our couple and guests. Steve B: I tracked down my favorite shortbread cookies from a now close Penn Quater DC eatery to this place, and decided to get my fix straight from the source. They were polite, prompt, and accomodating over the phone while I orderd my stash, but told me they are a caterer and I had to order atelast a dozen, instead of my requested 3 or 4. The location is a bit tucked away, but I doubt many people go to them for their food, but the office is beautiful and pleasant. A few of the cookies were barely damaged, but they gave them to me for free! I guess that taints this review, but I had gobbled up a few before I got back on the highway, and it turns out dozen just wasn't enough.

Valerie Dykstra: Over the last fifteen years, Mindy's has catered many events at our home. Two weddings, several receptions and fifteen Halloween parties, to be specific. Their creative, delicious food and outstanding professional service keep us coming back year after year. Erin White, the owner will work with you to develop the perfect menu for your event. For our daughter's wedding, Erin brought together the practical concerns of a sit down dinner for a diverse group of 150 guests with her extensive knowledge of food to create a beautiful multiple course dinner. Developing the Halloween party menu is always fun. Each year, the party's theme sparks Erin's imagination, and she has great ideas. My favorite was the Hunger Games party which included Katniss's Lamb Stew and a whole roast pig with an apple in its mouth. If there is anything better than Mindy's food, it is their service. The staff is professional while being warm and friendly. They create a beautiful presentation and keep the buffet food fresh and abundant. They make sure that guests with food allergies and restricted diets have plenty of good food to eat. They work quietly in the background to keep every event flowing smoothly.

HUNT BURKE: Mindy’s Catering blew us away! Dinner was delicious as well as a lovely presentation. All 15 of us filled our plates and our happy bellies. Delivering the wine early to cool was brilliant. Obviously, you have done this before. Every detail was beyond our expectations. Sunday we had neighbors over to feast on the leftovers, and Monday the salad was still fresh and we made sandwiches with the last of the beef. Outstanding.

Loretta M. Staudt: Our daughter's April wedding was rescheduled and down sized to a smaller wedding at our home due to the pandemic. What we did not know was how wonderful an event it would be! We used Mindy's catering after the initial caterer canceled. What a blessing it turned out to be. zm st: I contacted Mindy's to cater a reception to be held after a relative's memorial service. They said they were free on the date provided and we started to correspond about a possible menu. Then suddenly, I never heard back from them again. I sent two follow up emails and still nothing. That is an unfortunate way to lose business. It is already stressful to handle the planning of a reception when you are grieving. To get ghosted by them is completely unacceptable.

Karen Melchar: I worked with MIndy's Catering many times for weddings, funerals and other events when I was on staff at a local church, and always found their food to be delicious and their service thoughtful and efficient. From planning to clean up, the Mindy's crew really gets how to put on an event, and treat people well. The Mindy's At Home menus have been outstanding, and have been our stay at home treat for weeks--perfect flank steak, really fresh salads, tasty gazpacho, and velvety corn soup--all have been winners.

Rachel Newdorf: Mindy’s is one of my favorite caterers in the area. The entire team is an absolute joy to work with, from the owners to the staff on-site at an event. Nathan Smuckler: We hired Mindy's Catering Inc. to provide food service for a three day teen engagement event for approximately 300 participants, staff, and volunteers. We are extremely pleased with the results. Erin White was responsive and easy to work with in planning the menu for our event. Erin was efficient and effective in addressing our concerns with ingredients to accommodate allergies, dietary restrictions, and sensitivities. The contract process was simple and straight forward. Our event required three deliveries on different days and boxed and buffet style service. Each delivery went smoothly and the driver was extremely helpful in the unload process. The quantities were spot on. We were able to offer the right amount of food to our participants and staff and limit our food waste. I absolutely feel like we got a good value for our budget. Parents, staff, and most importantly the participants praised the food. It was a pleasure using Mindy's Catering Inc. for our event.

Jay Santillan: B. Lin was fantastic at working with us to make amazing food that combined our Israeli and Filipino food traditions for our wedding. They clearly spent a great deal of time researching the right dishes that celebrated the flavors of our cultures, resulting in a menu that reflected us as a couple. The food was remarkable, there were definitely no airline chicken breasts or mushy steamed vegetables involved. Even though many of the ethnic dishes they prepared were new to them, we were impressed at how authentic they tasted. Don’t tell our family, but some of the recipes were better than our families’ cooking (their kare kare was fantastic). They were open to feedback and helped us work within our budget. We will definitely be coming back to B. Lin.

Christy Ferrell: B.Lin catered my friend's baby shower and they did an amazing job. Roya our event coordinator was easy to work with and assisted us with selecting our tasty menu. All food was delivered on time, hot and seasoned to perfection. They helped us set up and display our entrees beautifully. I will definitely hire B.Lin again for my catering needs.

Suzie Travel: B.Lin was an amazing caterer for our wedding in VA in June 2019. Ben and Krista were so responsive to our requests and really listened to us when personalizing the food to meet our tastes. They certainly went beyond the call of duty on several occasions. We are avid foodies and their menu selection and cuisine did not disappoint. Everyone commented how great the food was, and several guests told us that it was the best wedding meal they've ever had! Their service was also first-rate, with superb attention to detail and wonderful professionalism. With so many vendors to manage, with B. Lin we did not have to worry about a thing. They were just fun, wonderful people to work with! We could not have asked for a better caterer for our special day and highly recommend them for any wedding or catering event!

Elizabeth Hung: The staycation platters are such a great idea from B.lin Catering!! We got the staycation platter with a mix of korean, chinese and filipino foods. Delicious!! The lumpia was one of our favorites in the platter- so flavorful. The singaporean noodles were also a hit! For $50, the small platter can definitely comfortably feed 3 people. I look forward to trying more from B.Lin and hopefully ordering catering from them in the future.

Sarah Jackson: I have used B.Lin to cater staff lunches, company events, and, most recently, a large charity event of 200+ people. These events were diverse in food selection, to say the least. Our food choices with B. Lin have ranged from mashed potato bars, to breakfast buffets, to large selection of finger foods, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them at every event from start to end. They are extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process, and come event day, the service and set-up is stellar. The presentation of the food is incredible, and the food itself simply could not be better. The most common feedback I got from the guests of the large charity event was that the food was to die for. I will continue to use B.Lin for all events, large and small, because they are simply the best in the business.

Awesome Foundation DC: B-Lin Catering was a huge part of the success of our recent Summer live pitch event for the Awesome Foundation DC. They provided amazingly food, expertly prepared, and packaged for traveling to the event, which was a huge hit to our 60+ super satisfied guests. There were many delicious items including grilled pita and roasted garlic hummus (the first thing to be fully devoured by our folks), tzatziki, htipiti (roasted red pepper & feta dip), spicy feta dip, marinated olives, roasted red peppers, and grilled artichoke hearts. Everything was fresh and delicious, and a feast for the eyes, as well as the belly. The fruit platter and the cookies (white chocolate macadamia nuts, yum) were equally superlative and a great compliment to the spread. They were a delight to work with and we would recommend them to others looking for amazing service and high-quality, delicious, food.

OG Cellus: Former driver! Good job for some quick easy money! A lot of waiting if you want multiple deliveries! Would give more stars but was terminated for unknown reason after a delivery I felt should be worth more than they was giving. No matter how big or small a delivery is you’ll still get the amount for the destination selected so if your going to D.C to deliver your only getting $25 no matter if it’s just a drop off quick hi and bye, or a whole event set up where you help set up the equipment. Labor means more money. Not a long term job, only for those who may have a minor set back in life! Please don’t work here FT it’s not worth the time

Elizabeth Benz: It is hard to know where to begin when singing my praises about Ridgewells Catering! Mary Margaret was absolutely amazing. She helped to make my wedding day so special. From the first phone call up until the wedding day itself - she was there to help me every step of the way. The food was impeccable, the decor was stunning and the creativeness in the design to help keep everything COVID safe was truly spectacular. The entire staff was friendly, kind, professional, on time and helped to make my wedding day run smoothly. I cannot recommend Ridgewells enough to anyone looking for catering in the DMV area. yopitti9: I am way overdue with this, but its better late than never. I requested the service of Carlos and Q Caterers Inc. for a very small party for only 15 people. I told Carlos that I did not want anything fancy since it was a small gathering, and to make it even more interesting, I told him to surprise me. He really went beyond my expectations. Hanaa Rifaey: Carlos and the team at Q Caterers were an outstanding part of our recent gala. From the outset, I was completely impressed with their professionalism and delivery. We were looking for a menu of heavy appetizers for a VIP reception and desserts for our general gala attendees, and the menu that Carlos created was impressive. But nothing compared to the actual event itself: the Q Caterers team was phenomenal. Set-up was not even the least bit stressful; they handled everything so easily. The food was beyond what they had even described. Our guests were floored at how good everything looked and tasted. I've never seen such an elegant looking mac and cheese bar. The grilled vegetable displays looked like they were out of a magazine spread. Everything was so delicious and beautiful. The service was easy going but ultra professional. There was so much food that we had leftovers from the reception that Q Caterers packed up and served at the reception too! And no one could tell these were leftovers. Everything was fresh and beautifully displayed. And I haven't even started talking about those desserts! My goodness. As beautiful as they were delicious!! Hands down, Q Caterers went above and beyond all of my expectations and created the best catering experience I've ever had. On top of it all, Carlos was incredibly supportive of our fundraising efforts. He made it clear he and his team are huge supporters of the DC Public Schools and our greater DC community. Lauren Noll: Blown away by the attention to detail and creativity. When you work with Heirloom DC, you are not just hiring a catering company, you are hiring an entire experience. The food is always delicious, and the presentation is immaculate. Every detail is independently designed and considered, from the table settings down to the miniature desserts — icing on the cake, literally. I have attended several Heirloom events and am consistently impressed by the work this team does to execute a gorgeous affair.

Cheryl McKein: Heirloom catered the most lovely and beautiful holiday dinner in my home this past weekend. This is an event I host every year and postponed it this year due to covid precautions. I decided to try Heirloom as they came highly recommended from a friend. The table which they designed was beautiful and inviting and the food beyond delicious. The short rib gnocchi dish was to die for! Our guests would not stop raving about everything and kept saying how this one was the best one we have hosted yet. The team at Heirloom were a dream to work with. Accommodating, responsive and professional throughout the entire process. Vicky designed an incredible event and made us feel confident with trying a new design and modern menu. The staff during the event was excellent, especially Joussell and the personalization & attention to details as everyone says about them was exceptional. Will be hiring them again for future events!

Kimberly Lieu: We hosted our wedding at Dock5-Union Market, which is a blank canvas (read: empty warehouse) and Vicky was able to transform it in a way that reflected our style while guiding us with her professional advice. She truly made our wedding vision a reality. Vicky stuck with us through the pandemic and was graciously flexible with us throughout, and ensured that we had our dream wedding in the end. Heirloom’s food is absolutely unforgettable, and it was that excellent food in combination with thoughtful and perfectly executed service that made our reception so enjoyable. We wanted to do family style and create a sense of warmth throughout the warehouse space and they nailed it - two long kings tables, assorted ceramic serving platters, the bistro lighting, moody candles… everything! The menu options we found with Heirloom and the creativity in both the dishes themselves but also the presentation convinced us - and we are so glad we did! Vicky also personally checked in on us throughout the evening and made sure we got to have every single delicious thing being served! It’s been several weeks since our wedding and our guests still talk about “the best wedding food they have ever had”! But it was not just the food and menu design, as we decided some months down the planning process to also entrust Vicky and her Team to handle the design aspects of the wedding. The planning process was comfortable and collaborative, and we loved the ideas that Vicky introduced to take our vision and turn it into reality. We loved working with Vicky and the Heirloom Team and could not imagine our wedding, after what felt like years of planning, without them!

Emily Rand: Heirloom is a team of incredible women who make magic happen. Their food is outstanding and creative, but their customer service, attention to detail (hello, personalized menus), and presentation make them the best. Hayes Carol: I have used Windows for many events over the past 7-8 years and have nothing but good things to say. The team lead by Karol Cristales is always friendly and very professional and the food is delicious. Karol takes the time to meet with me before every event and makes suggestions/corrections on the menu, venue, and set up for the event. It's a joy to work with her. I like the diversity of Windows - I work at a university and the size of the events are always different - sometimes we host events with 20-40 individuals (box lunches) and other times we have receptions for 100 people (heavy horderves with a full wait staff), a carnival like set up outside for over 500 students, formal event with families and students with over 800 attendees - it matters not, Windows always bring their A game with a phenomenal staff lead by Karol (Fernando, Enrique, Claudia, Maria, and Luis are just a few). The food is delicious and I often have other colleagues requesting their contact info because of how delicious it is. If you are looking to host an event I would suggest using Windows. I'm sure they have many knowledgeable friendly people to work with but you can't go wrong with Karol and her team.

John Morland: Wonderful experience with Windows for our anniversary celebration. Food was great, on-site staff was wonderful and Nicole Buchanan was particularly accommodating during the planning process which kept changing because the Covid Delta variant popped up.

Lenore: We used windows to cater a post- concert party for my son’s college a capella group. I am from out of town and did not see the apartment we rented or worked with windows beforehand and also would not be present t during the set up of the party so I was a bit nervous. But i didn’t have to be. Debbie and her team made everything seamless. We all walked in to a beautiful presentation. The food was fabulous and the staff very professional and I could communicate with them easily. I received many compliments on the food which included dumplings, pigs in a blanket (an elegant version), tenderloin and caprese sandwiches, Veggie slaw and more. I could not have been happier with selecting windows.

Eva: I'm not a customer but my mom recently started working here and this woman is beyond rude. We can in to ask a simple question and she was disrespectful. She didn't even say "Hi, how are you? How can I help you?" She is beyond unprofessional. The first thing out of her mouth was "What is the issue?" and then I explained to her and she just said "Sooooo what is the problem?" with attitude and giving me a stupid look. She keep on telling me not to give her attitude when she was giving me attitude the whole time and being disrespectful. She kept on speaking to us like we were stupid and I was trying to get my question answered and she would not answer it she just continued being rude and telling me I didn't understand because I am young. She's older than me and I acted more professional than she was. I don't even work for the company and I was disrespected so I don't even want to imagine how she treats the employees. Her name is Marina. If I could put 0 stars or even negative stars if I could.

Chris Griebel: I live in AZ and was planning, from a distance, a reception after a memorial service at Arlington in DC. I was in need of a full service company. After several other contacts - I then was lead to "To Your Taste" - I felt like it was a Divine appointment – as God provided through their hands, service and precious heart to orchestrate a wonderful event during a time of grieving. The hotel we stayed had a conference room that we rented for 8 hours. "To Your Taste Catering" came in and transformied the room into an atmosphere of beauty and comfort. The Food was outstanding and the entire main meal and the fixin’s too! - salmon, coconut rice, verggies, salad - and that was just the lunch. Jorge Rodas: We had a small (25 ppl) wedding ceremony at my house. With just under a month to prepare, Javier stopped by to see the area and had a few suggestions, not just for the menu, but placement of food depending on the weather. We had initially wanted an outside ceremony but with the weather being all over the place recently, he suggested a second area in our home that ended up working out perfectly. The food was fantastic, the price was perfect and the presentation was just on point. The delivery person was here on time, and even waited for the ceremony to end so not to make any distractions. He patiently waited and like a pro was in and out making the food presentation look amazing. I was also on the phone with Claire, who made it easy to make additional modifications to the menu that included a cake and cup cakes. Overall, they made it super easy, affordable and so professional. Wish I had some pictures to add, but don’t have them back yet. JR

The most notable thing is that the staff and bartenders remembered my preferences when I saw them at a second event that they catered. Elizabeth Picciotta: I worked with To Your Taste for a birthday party for 50-ish people. They were incredible! I cannot say enough good things about them. As background, my husband was trying to plan this as a surprise party and 2 weeks before the event, he told me about it because he was so overwhelmed and couldn't find a caterer. Through a friend, I was connected with Javier from To Your Taste. He and Diego immediately jumped in and put together an incredible event! They worked with me to select a fantastic menu that tasted delicious. They also provided the tables and all the tableware. Diego selected linens and chairs that complimented my home beautifully. And the "day of" team who worked the event were fantastic. They anticipated our needs and were very thoughtful about being quiet while setting up and cleaning up during my children's naps/bedtime. They were also very good about our dog who wanted to sample all the food :) Javier also saved the day when my bounce house vendor canceled--he had a contact who was able to step in and provide us with games for the kids. All this to say, I highly recommend To Your Taste catering. They made this event so easy and stress-free. I don't think I'll ever host a party without them again!

Kaitlen Sims: We have utilized To Your Taste Catering for a number of our corporate events over the years and their quality and service is a 10/10! They offer an amazing menu variety and update frequently, so you always feel like you have more options to choose from. Their onsite delivery has always been on time and has never been incorrect or missing any items. Our teams are always so impressed (and full) after they cater for us!

Elizabeth Hagen: Paige is a catering queen!! We loved working with her and the Purple Onion team. Paige was so easy to work with, responsive, knowledgable, and made great recommendations for our wedding day. Purple Onion was the perfect caterer for our December wedding. The food was amazing and all our guests loved it! Especially the appetizers! One of our favorite parts of our day was having appetizers and champagne ready for us immediately following our ceremony. I highly recommend the Purple Onion if you are planning a wedding or event in Northern VA!

bert cook: Our company had an open house last week and it was a tremendous success, due so largely to the amazing food and presentation delivered by Purple Onion! It was a great experience working with Chana Brissett and her team of professionals. The food was delicious and we had so many compliments on the taste and look. That's one of the reasons to choose Purple Onion--they are imaginative and creative with presentation. The catering staff that worked our event were terrific. Channa was wonderful to work with and so accommodating and helpful. We could not have had a nicer reception and are so appreciative to the staff at Purple Onion. They are a credit to the hospitality industry.

She was really professional, responsive and easy to work with. We were able to customize the menu to our taste and to accommodate all of the dietary preferences of our guest. They have great menus with fresh, delicious food and lots of variety. The food turned out great - the guests all enjoyed their meals but most importantly, the service and all of the staff were awesome!

Hope and Bill Hope and Bill: Purple Onion Catered my birthday party and provided the linens and tables. Their attention to detail; creativity with the menu, and overall professionalism at the party was amazing! Margaret, my event planner took such good care of everything! Rachel Xiao: We had an extremely positive experience with Brooke and the Purple Onion team for our wedding this month. Throughout the process Brooke was patient, helpful, and friendly, building a menu, updating the menu (several times...), and planning out the day-of schedule. We were so happy with the support setting up the reception area and the tables looked beautiful. The servers couldn't have been kinder and made sure my husband and I had some food throughout the event. Finally, the food was excellent! They made a custom menu item for us that turned out well, and everything from the chicken entree to the vegan potato cakes received compliments from our guests. Would highly recommend Purple Onion!

Barbara Hays: All staff were very helpful with answers to questions we had in placing our order. After we placed our order we realized that we really needed the help of a server and decided that someone from Saint Germain's staff would be best suited to do this. We also had to ask a neighbor to let the server in with our food, since we were at the event for which our house was the reception site. That worked VERY well and Marlene Ventura who was given this assignment could not have been more helpful, attentive and pleasant to work with. Please consider this business for your catering needs, we will certainly use them again.

John Galer: Saint Germain surpassed all expectations. Fantastic caterer, will definitely use again. We hired them to cater a half-day event for 120 people. With COVID constraints, we had to ensure servers for drinks and each food item be individually wrapped. They were absolute pros at it and the final product was perfection. Maria and Santos were prompt, courteous, and professional. They made the event go off without a hitch.

Tracee Garner: Saint Germain Catering was excellent to work with. I used the contact through Yelp but once we used actual direct emails, communication and things went much faster and more efficiently. The food was really wonderful and EVERYONE enjoyed every bite. I would hire SGC again for an event and would just go visit them and order lunch, they really were good and have such an amazing selection of food options to choose from. They also have stellar reviews and near 100 different (good) photos from their customers and their own photos. The person that brought all the food, took time to set up EVERYTHING and gave instructions, didn't just hand you a bunch of stacks of containers and flee and I appreciate that so much, even more so having a physical disability. Will not hesitate to use them again for a future event. So yummy. Everything I purchased in the pic and mac and cheese balls were first to be gone!!! Thanks so much SGC!!!

Corinne Bishop: I highly recommend Saint Germain Catering! I used their services for a buffet-style dinner for 12 guests to celebrate the recent wedding of a friend. They were incredibly efficient to work with and communicated all the details seamlessly via email. They also provide rental services and coordinated all of our needs on our behalf. It was great to receive one order/quote with all of our rentals and food included. The drop off was timely and they provided appropriate support/instructions on how to set-up the buffet trays. And of course, the food! It was delicious. The chicken was moist and flavorful even after sitting in the buffet trays for an hour, and I would highly recommend the farro risotto! Our guests ate that up fast! They also accommodated specific dessert requests that weren't on their main menu. Finally - all of this fabulous service and food was reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again!

Carmel Darcy: I hosted an early Thanksgiving this year with many family members in town. Saint Germain food was delicious, high quality and outstanding. Many said it was the best pumpkin pie they had ever had. The turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, etc. were fantastic. And I am so glad I did not cook this year. Instead, i could enjoy my family. Mariam Ebrahimi Holland: We ordered the seafood special, crab legs, mini crab cakes, shrimp, and the bay seasoned chips. My husband who is a crab cake "expert" said it was one of the best crab cakes he has ever had. That it is mostly filled with real crab meat without too much fillers. The shrimp was a perfect size, clean, great presentation and OUTTA this world. The crab legs were all mine :-D Nice and meaty, and the buttery sauce they came in added enough flavor that I didn't need more butter. Overall, a very special treat during these uncertain times with the pandemic. Thanks, Nikki and Saint Germain team.

Courtney Feltman: Wow I just cannot say enough about Mina and her team at Saint Germain Catering. They catered my baby shower yesterday and the food was over the top incredible. Everyone commented all day about how delicious everything was. If you are looking for a caterer in NOVA this is absolutely the team to use. He is very dependable and the food is great! He takes pride in his company and it's reflected in the service he provides. He catered our monthly volunteer mentor program at a local school. The 30 year community service program was sponsored by my previous employer. In the spirit of community service Jon catered our monthly mentor sessions & provided a full meal for the students and volunteers, without cutting corners. The volunteers left work early, from various offices in MD, DC, & VA, to get to the DC school in a timely manner. We really appreciated the delicious home cooked meal! That was my 1st, but not last experience with Sinfully Wright. Over the years, my family & friends used them for various events (i.e. weddings, family reunions, Church events, birthday parties, funerals). I received very positive feedback from everyone. LOLITA WALKER: It was my first time ordering from Peaches but not my last. I was pleased with the entire process from ordering to pick up. The food is flavorful and plenty for two servings per meal. My sister loved her oxtails, lay some sugar sweet potatoes and cabbage. I enjoyed the stuffed salmon with crab and shrimp, cabbage and mac and cheese. The meals do not come with plantains as I am accustomed to having so be sure to place an order as a side if you want them. They were cooked to perfection and there's plenty in the order to share. Overall very pleased.

Tsmg Mark: Was told by many to try peaches. And today I finally decided to I ordered the jerk chicken Alfredo and the chicken was good but the noodles and the sauce was nasty! The sauce tasted like store brought Alfredo. If it was store brought, I would suggest try marking your own Alfredo recipe. And if it was homemade.. no disrespect but it could use some tweaking.

MICHAEL MOORER: First, I’m from Alabama, so soul food is familiarity. This restaurant isn’t it. The candied yams aren’t candied, cabbage had a nasty after taste, the Macaroni is too cheesy and the corn bread is like cake with a tang. THE YOUNG LADY AT THE COUNTER NEED TO CHECK HER ATTITUDE OR CONSIDER WASHING DISHES IN THE BACK. I won’t be returning.

Lauren E: Im going to assume the 4/5 stars reviews had different food than I had. I was throughly underwhelmed. The cornbread taste and looked like yellow sheet pan cake sweetened with stevia. The salmon was dry. The stuffing in the salmon reminded me of chicken salad. The mac and cheese was trash. The greens were bland bland bland. Bland describes my entire experience. To top it all off the customer service was the worst. You can’t have bad customer service and mediocre food. Sis working the front counter needs to change her career hospitality is not it. Rude is a understatement.

Diamond Bumbry: I come here on the weekends for breakfast. I order the salmon cakes with potatoes (with onions). Full of flavor and always a good temperature when I pick it up. I will continue to come here for breakfast.

Hall of Fame: The summer squash was good string beans OK could’ve been better greens collard greens are nasty do not get the broccoli was pretty good I had to wait like 30 minutes for my food I went on a Sunday and they were not busy may or may not go again

The food was delicious, the service was hospitable and the ambiance is warm and comforting. I HIGHLY recommend everyone check out Peaches Kitchen! BE WARNED. It is a Mom and Pop kind of restaurant which means your food is prepared fresh to order so it may take a minute or two. Enjoy!!

Mary was very helpful in the planning leading up to our wedding - meeting us at the linens and serving ware rental company and at our venue site. She provided helpful set-up and timeline advice. Lindsay Kallman: Eco Catering was by-far the best vendor we had at our wedding. (Also professionally I am an event planner, and Eco Catering was the best vendor I have ever worked with.) Mary Gorman is a rock star of a human being. She was SUPER organized, she gave excellent wedding planning advice, and she went way above and beyond her duties as the catering manager. Working with Eco Caters couldn't have been easier since Mary was so responsive, knowledgeable, and frankly just an enjoyable person to be around. And of course the food was AMAZING! Many of our guests commented on how they had never had such delicious and original food at a wedding. None of that standard plain pasta and caesar salad stuff (though I am sure they do an excellent pasta and caesar salad). It was custom created just for us based on our food interests and dietary restrictions of our guests. The staff were so nice and easy going. They were extremely attentive to our guests and couldn't have been friendlier. They were great at working within our budget as well. Compared to other caterers we looked at, they provided a better service at a better price. Thank you Eco Caters for making our wedding so special. I wish we could do it all over again!

milka akinloye: I work for a silicon valley tech company that caters often. I was guided by colleagues to a big name caterer in the DC area, but I had a terrible experience with communication- they didn't respond to emails, return calls, or act like they cared at all. At the 11th hour, I pulled the plug and called Eco Caters. From the first second, John Boozer treated me like I was his only customer. I put him through the paces making and changing my mind ever few hours, but he was patient and kind. They delivered and then some for a 2 day event. Every single person who came as a company representative was excellent and personable. Not to mention, eco friendly plating, and delicious, organic meals. Use them!!

Lauren Pancoast: Hire Eat & Smile for your next catering need and you and your guests will be gushing for weeks about how amazing the food and service was! We cannot say enough great things about this group of people. Katie was our point of contact for the planning process. From the first phone call to the last email right before our wedding, she was always kind, upbeat, professional and timely. She and Chef Oliver made the entire planning process so easy and was extremely patient with my never ending list of questions. Michael was our day-of captain/show runner. He too was a delight and kept me confident that the service would be top notch. Seeing as I was the bride, I relied on my guests to evaluate the service. There was not a single complaint. Guests said the staff was friendly, helpful and funny. Michael made sure my husband and I ate, and the food was everything we had hoped for. It was also very cool that this company is very green and Eco-friendly. One of the best decisions we made for this wedding was hiring Eat & Smile.

Stephen Kopstein: Booked a make up wedding dinner with them for guests who weren't able to change plans after we were forced to cancel our wedding last October because of the NorCal wildfires. The entire experience was pleasant. Eilish was great for the planning of everything, and Oliver and his team showed up on time and knocked the entire dinner out of the park. High quality food and service.

Dan F: Attended an event catered by eat and smile. There were multiple plates and I am sorry I did not get to try them all. Delicious! Salads yummy. Cheese plate great. Berry pie wonderful. Cauliflower purée delicious as well. Service was good. Only issue was clean up staff a little to eager to take my plate before I finished.

Pete Smiley: Hired for an outdoor cocktail party with about 40 people. It started to sprinkle shortly after the guests arrived and Eat & Smile did a seamless job of moving things indoors. The employees were great, and the food was amazing. I want more spicy lamb sliders!

Kori Ricketts: If you ask questions and inquire about processes, and prices (especially when they say they will offer ice at $2/pp when you have a cocktail on the menu), you run the risk of being told “ in a strange turn of events, we actually have been contacted by someone planning a large party who engaged in conversations with us a few months ago and just came back to us this morning.” This is by far the worst interaction I have ever had. I escaleted my frustration to the manager Katie, and that quote is what she sent me, after never asking me what my frustrations were. I usually don’t validate bad reviews, feeling like they aren’t representative of usual happeningings. In this case I was SO WRONG, as another review stated they had these same issues and I ended up with the same horrible experience. For your sake, choose someone else!

Howlingridge Farm: Best people I have ever had the blessed fortune to know! Hope to employ them for my next DC event(s). Truly delightful, friendly, professional, charming, delicious.

Maya Byrne: Eat & Smile General Impressions • Timely in response to my million e-mails containing questions regarding timelines, menu planning, questions with regards to the kitchen available at the venue, etc. • Unlike the big box caterers in DC (Occasions, Ridge wells, Windows, etc.) Eat & Smile is more of you pick what you want and need and they help to put together exactly what you are looking for – however, with that you need to be mindful of costs as they are individualized vs. one lump sum (recommend maintaining a detailed spreadsheet with your costs) • Oliver is very friendly and flexible in helping to build your menu and plan your event • Alcohol and general rentals are not available at E&S thus requires more coordination with additional vendors • My overall impression is that guests did like the format and the food however, I think we could have used additional / heavier • Catering staff was very friendly and we were extremely happy with the service on the day of Eat & Smile Passed Hors D'oeuvres Format PROS: • Food warm is available to guests throughout the event unlike a plated dinner • Guests are able to choose from a variety of foods which is particularly helpful for guests with dietary restrictions • Costs are reduced as you do not need to rent utensils, plates, etc. (consider having enough seating for older adults even though the meal isn’t sit down) Eat & Smile Passed Hors D'oeuvres Format CONS: • Unlike a sit down dinner keeping to your timeline of events (special dances, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.) can be more tricky as you really need either a coordinator or bridesmaid to stay on top of things and alert you when it is time for any of your events • Tables can look empty without dinnerware – suggest wide centerpieces • Guests can be a bit confused as to when and what food is available – printing the menu can placing it on the seats at the ceremony or at the reception can help!

Emily Morgan: I'll just start by saying I HIGHLY recommend Design Cuisine for any and all events that you are hosting. I was new to a role within my company and had the benefit of getting to work with Design Cuisine on one of our historical events and they did not disappoint. From the sales team to the logistics team to the details on-site, they think of it all. They are incredibly professional, friendly, easy to work with, budget-conscious, and detail oriented (aka an event planners dream). Erin & Tierney in particular were huge helps and ensure the highest quality on anything and everything. On-site, Cesar and Oscar were amazing! I loved working with them all in 2018 and look forward to working with them again in 2019!

Emily Norweg: The food was absolutely fabulous. Many guests remarked that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding--particularly the appetizers. There was, however, room for improvement. Little things that we were really excited about fell by the wayside. For example, we spent a long time naming our signature drinks, and then the signage put out on our wedding day ended up being the caterer's generic drink titles, like "Flower Power." The main thing that bothered me was I never felt like I was a priority. Design Cuisine took over as the exclusive caterer for our venue midway through our wedding planning process, and I can imagine it must have been overwhelming and stressful for them to inherit so many weddings at once. That said, I often felt like I had to send multiple emails and be persistent with phone calls, as well as repeat my preferences and decisions multiple times, as if they had just gotten lost along the way. The thing that frustrated me most was that our original caterer had told us they could arrange for a secondary tent to be installed on the lawn for the ceremony in the event of rain (and, in fact, it did rain on our wedding day). I asked Design Cuisine for a quote for this tent as soon as we found out, in February, they were our new caterers. After asking over and over again, I only got a quote one week before our June wedding, and the price was really high. By that point it was too late to shop around for tent vendors on our own. That was super disappointing. Overall, the food and drink were outstanding, but it was upsetting to feel like we were just another customer on a long list. No one from Design Cuisine even contacted us after our wedding to ask how everything went or to congratulate us.

Carol Feder: We used Design Cuisine for an in-home party and give them a 100% A+ rating. From first contact to final clean-up, the entire experience with Design Cuisine was fantastic. Kevin and Kristin did an excellent job in helping with the lay-out and flow; Cesar was our on-site captain on the night of the party. It was a total pleasure to work with everyone; the food was creative, delicious and memorable; every idea they gave us and the details were perfect; the service was great. During the planning, Kevin conveyed calm and confidence that Design Cuisine would make our party a success and he was correct!

No Thanks: A toxic group of people and environment.Your merit does not take you no where, unless you buddy with them.Food ‘okay’, you don’t get the credit for anything. I do not think they know these two words: please and thank you. They need to learn basic communication

HILARY CAMPBELL: I recall going in to the first Sardis in college park and the rave reviews about it. Now arriving here, it is so so strange to see the many branches that are thriving here. My goodness. This store doesn’t see as bustling as college park and the menu more limited but still good. I looked for the salmon skewers I loved, but only there was grilled salmon. However, chicken and cerviche was here plus juga. The place looked clean, there was lots of parking available, customer service was great, location pretty hood with two parking entrances exits either side. Love this food. Air ya yie! Will be good-a for my tum! 😁🤪😍 Great job Sardi!

Kaitlen Ajamian: We utilized Sardi's for our construction company's appreciation lunch. 65 men were very pleased with the meal they received. (1/2 Chicken, fried rice, and grilled vegetables.) To help navigate our pandemic environment, Sardi's was able to accommodate individually packaged meals and utensils. Setting up the catering was incredibly easy. I filled out the form on their website and they called me the next day. Their pricing was straight forward and their options were numerous. On delivery day, they arrived promptly, assisted in set up, and the food was incredibly delicious and satisfying. If you are looking for yummy catering that's super easy to set up, I highly recommend Sardi's.

Jacob Nachazel: Served all of the military raw food when they were sent to D.C. during riots. They sent boxes that literally said they only cooked the chicken to 130°.

Carrie McCain: Sardi's catered our wedding yesterday and it was absolutely perfect! They were very professional during the planning, and they showed up on time with the food. The food was AMAZING and our guests kept asking where we got it and were thrilled to find out they have restaurants all over the state. I highly recommend them for catering.

Meg Kays: Susan Gage catered my wedding and they were amazing in every way. I got a lot of quotes from other caterers and did some tastings, and was really underwhelmed by the cost and quality of the other caterers. Susan Gage prepared a menu that was exactly what I asked for and beyond, accommodated some significant allergies, and was incredibly delicious. They had a limited but perfect set of choices for things like chairs and place settings, which was great as I was experiencing significant decision fatigue. They were also organized, professional, and friendly, and were like having a second wedding planner. The guests raved about the food and they sent me home with a package of leftovers and goodies.

So flexible with us during COVID when we had to postpone our wedding and wonderful at bringing our vision, menu, and bar to life on our big day. Jennifer B: Caribbean Caterers made my sisters baby shower the best it could be. We used them for food and service for the adults while I handled the kids food. Tiara CoCo Robinson: Let me first say how much I love and appreciate Mrs. Gillian and Caribbean Caters as my wedding caterer. So first my wedding was during covid and that it self was a headache. However, they took extra precautions to keep things safe and sanitary. When my husband and I did our tasting back ion 2020 it was private and Mrs. Gillian made us feel like her family. I think with us all having that Caribbean blood. She embraced us and was open to our ideas and vision and made it to hers, which we loved. The blessing of all of this was that Mrs. Gillian had already had a relationship with our venue which made things even more comfortable and the process more smooth. We received SO many compliments about how great the food was and my cousin continues to remind me of how good the salmon was. They have plenty of options for all dietary restrictions. My absolute favorite were the crab cakes, salmon and stuffed chicken. The linens they used really added the extra “sparkle” to make our room beautiful! I also really appreciated them bringing food and drinks to the bridal suite for the groom and I. She even had plenty of sparkling cider for my husband who does not drink alcohol. We would definitely hire them again in the future for other events.

Mr. Smith: Severely disappointing experience. Gillian was totally unorganized and unprofessional. Gillian fell short of our expectations, and the photos and reviews online are misleading. She was supposed to help draft a floorplan but only came up with a doodle. I actually drafted a floorplan and sent it to her, a job she was supposed to do, and she didn't pay any attention to it. On the day of our event, Gillian set out seven tables instead of the six we needed. We provided our own chargers, due to her marked up prices between proposals, and she tried to say we didn't have the amount we did - because of the extra table. She actually was abrasive and confrontational about it to my wife, accusing us of holding things up - saying she just had people standing around... All because of her lack of attention to detail and disregard for the plans we attempted to put in place. It was clear Gillian was unorganized, but her demeanor was truly unpleasant and unprofessional. She caused my wife unnecessary stress, due to her lack of organization and people skills. My wife had tried to help re-explain things to Gillian, but Gillian was rude and dismissive. She was confrontational to my wife before our event, and even interrupted my wife while she was talking to our guests during our event - to ask when the food should go out. Ironically, we provided her a timeline and she didn't follow through with that either. As a 'professional,' you'd expect better. The bar also ran out of alcohol. Fortunately her staff contacted her, after I realized the situation and confronted them, and she went out to get more alcohol. But they ran out of several other things at the bar and the drinks weren't uniform. The appetizer plates were also underwhelming and did not meet our expectations. We weren't offered a tasting or an example of how the food would look, and we were left underwhelmed on the day of our event. The photos online are misleading. Speaking of photos, Gillian also had a mask less photographer with her - who she didn't introduce to us - nor did she ask permission for him to be on site. This is classless and disrespectful. Her crew only had to set out table cloths, napkins and silverware - and they didn't even have that done before our guests arrived, due to her lack of organization and blatant disregard for the floorplan and schematics we provided her. She had a sour attitude and made it clear we were not a priority. When we arrived early to the venue, the venue owner and Gillian had been talking inside as we walked in. The venue owner greeted us, but Gillian just walked off. She was very rude throughout our event and had a poor demeanor. She seemed to be seeking out how to do the bare minimum, as we rescheduled due to COVID-19. She also couldn't provide an itemized bill, and I noticed five discrepancies between recent proposals from her - which illustrates how the prices seem to be 'made up.' She also put a tip cup on the bar, when the bartender was making $80/hr, without asking our permission, which exemplifies her classlessness. The main course was decent, but nothing spectacular. It truly wasn't worth the money, and we were left severely dissatisfied and disappointed. I am glad this was for an anniversary party and not our actual wedding, because it was a nightmare dealing with Gillian. Her staff were much more professional and friendly, but I caution against doing any business with Gillian or Caribbean Caterers. If I were to use one word to describe Gillian, it would be 'shiesty.' If I were to use one word to describe Caribbean Caterers, it would be 'underwhelming.'
