Elise Phipps: Mylene is the best. She is this sweet petite french lady who will do anything for her customers. She is incredibly experienced when it comes to colon hydrotherapy and knows what to look for, when to push and go longer to cleanser deeper things, and when your body has had enough for the day. The first time I saw her, years ago, I had an evening appointment and was flying out of the country around 9 am the next day. After our first session she told me I must come back tomorrow. At first, I thought she was just trying to sell me something and I was a bit resistant. She insisted and then offered to meet me in her office at 5am so I could do the session and still make my flight. I released sooooo many parasites that morning. She knew exactly what she was doing and what to look for and I left feeling like a completely different person. Since then, anytime I am in town I make sure to come in for regular colon hydrotherapy. It will change your personality and significantly reduce any body pain or anxiety you feel. Because Mylene offers the gift of truly giving her clients what they need that day, she sometimes runs behind schedule. Just something to know before you go. Try not to let this frustrate you. You will eventually be one who benefits from an extra long treatment. I plan for morning appointments when I can and otherwise bring something to prepare for a little wait. She still has her lovely French accent, sometimes over the phone she can be difficult to understand but just stick with it, it’s worth it!

Before the massage, there is a well-appointed changing and locker room, where you are given a key a fluffy robe just like the nicest spas around. The masseur Juan had a detailed discussion of where the trouble spots were, and he expertly worked the tension from neck, back, and shoulders. A very professional operation in the heard of the West End.

Paul: Completely unhelpful and incompetent staff. There is legitimately NO service that will be provided what-so-ever. You will be draining your money down the toilet if you go here. Avoid this place like the plague. I arrived for my hydrotherapy session today and the girl at the front desk, (barely looking up from her food simply), didn't ask for my name or anything and simple stated, "in the back." Confused, I walked down the hall and saw nobody anywhere, no idea where to go, and eventually went back to the girl eating her food. Like a normal human being, I asked if she could tell me where I should be, what I should do. She reluctantly got up frustrated, and proceeded to provide the most basic of service. Once changed in a room, I waited for someone to direct me to where I would need to go, and after some time the only other human being in this place walked past my room and said, "oh..." and told me to follow her to another room where the machine was. She quickly pointed to the monstrous machines and pointed at a tube and gave me a quick 10 second instruction to "stick it in me and push this button," and left. Like a normal human being, I asked for more information, which was not provided. After roughly 10 minutes of trying to understand the machine, and noticing the water was freezing cold coming out of the machine (nowhere near 100 degrees), and noticing how unclean and not sanitized the place was, I decided to find the woman. I asked verbatim, "I'm not certain if I'm doing any of this correctly, and need assistance, or else I think it makes sense to leave because I don't feel safe not understanding what to do." The woman responded VERBATIM, "Okay, bye." How on earth does this place even exist? The level of non-service was STAGGERING, and the two employees seemed way more intent on eating their food and doing heck knows what, there is no attention to running the actual business. Complete and utter scam that should be removed from Groupon immediately.

This atmosphere is very warm and relaxing. I have received several massages and a foot spa from body bliss beyond. I honor this establishment as a black owned business in Washington DC. My most recent massage in May 2022 was much needed. I was given several options for type of massage and pressure applied. I am certain my massage ran over as my masseuse was very attentive. I am very pleased with this establishment and will continue to visit for more services.

Joe Fahed: I am new to the area and was looking for a regular massage therapy provider, so gave Body Bliss Beyond a try. I was hooked after the very first appointment and stopped looking elsewhere! The owner, Reggie, calls himself "Mr. Body Bliss" and he means it. His pressure is on point and he uses warm oil throughout the massage, which I appreciate. Reggie follows your requests diligently and listens intuitively to your body's needs. I felt rejuvenated after my first massage and was adamant to come back again and again. Whether I am dealing with a sore back or looking for a relaxing time, Body Bliss is my refuge. I've been visiting the spa at least one a month since then and plan on continuing to do so as long as Reggie is my masseur. I've heard great things about the other masseuses too but Reggie is my guy! As for the the spa, it is always quiet and clean, and the receptionists I've met have all been extremely friendly whether scheduling with me on the phone or checking me in / out. The spa uses an online scheduling system that sends you reminders and invoices. There is also plenty of street parking available near the spa if you're driving. Give Body Bliss Beyond a try and you won't regret it! I will update my review if anything else comes up.

Audrey Maddox: I suffer from sciatica and I go in for a 90 minute massage and come out feeling brand new. The spa is very welcoming and cozy which sets your tone instantly to relax. They also offer other services other than massages. You will definitely leave feeling like you've been Blissed.

I was having terrible back pains before coming in and showed her the spot where I was feeling the most pain and she got right to work. She really got in there and worked that tightness right out of my back. 2 hours after leaving my entire back was so but a really good sore. I took a bath that night and by the morning time the pain was completely gone! If I ever have any kind of back pain again I’m returning here for my massage. Thank you for your help!

I thought the staff was friendly when paying for the service. Only downfall was that as out of towners it was kind of hard to find parking. So I would recommend talking to the staff about parking beforehand.

Our Body Bliss experience started with Tamika who invited us in and made sure that we were fully pampered from the beginning to the end of our experience. Thank you, Tamika! We began our couples message. That is when we meet Sahara and Nyah. OMG! We wanted to take them home. They helped us understand what “relax” really means. They really know their craft and were extremely knowledgeable. They explained everything as they went along. I could go on and on but my best advice would be to go try it out for yourself!

Reggie is always super courteous and accommodating, just a great and talented person. I definitely wanted to keep supporting B.O.B. but my last visit was a disappointment. Sherie Higgins: My book club and I planned a private day party at Body Bliss and Beyond which was the perfect setting for what we had planned! Each member of the group (10 of us) had the opportunity to get any services we desired based on our individual liken. We had the full spa to ourselves and were not rushed in getting our treatments nor leaving the facility. The staff made our experience even more fun with their friendly and professional customer service. The price was right for the 1 hour massage however I learned later that I could have extended my time for additional treatment...but I guess I had to consider the group (side eye)..lol My only recommendations are the ability to shower afterward, supply courtesy infused water, and a brief consultation to advise the therapist of any personal concerns. I (we) will definitely continue to support this establishment....We’ve been blissed!

Romona Foster: I truly don't know how to describe this experience. It actually took me a couple of weeks to write this review. First, I have to say, this was my very first colon hydrotherapy session ever, and it was a very creepy experience for me. I knew that the session was in a house, but did not expect the session to literally be performed in a bedroom -- as in the past, I have gone to see doctors who operate out of their homes, but a portion of the home was setup like a doctor's office and away from any activity going on in the home. I was greeted at the door by my name (by Robert). No other words were spoken as he guided me to the bedroom. He told me to have a seat and gave me paperwork to fill out. I am sure it was obvious I was nervous, but Robert did nothing to break the ice. No conversation, and no eye contact. After I filled out the paperwork, he gave me a brief overview of how everything worked and told me to take my pants off, get on the table thingy (I don't even know what to call it, the explanation was so brief), then cover myself with a very thin, tiny blanket that only covered my thighs -- and he would be back. I did as I was instructed to do, but not before closing the blinds to a window that was facing someone else's back yard. There was another window with no covering right where I spread my legs and put my feet in the holders. (The more I write, the more I can't believe I did this.) He came back to make sure I inserted the hose properly and explained how to turn on and off the water. He did keep checking on me, and got friendly when he recommended that I do two sessions that day since I had a lot to get out. I agreed. He mentioned it again, and said, "You'll pay for two" as if I had expected him to give it to me for free. I finished the first session, and had to buzz him when I felt like I was going to vomit toward the end of the second session. He seemed a little bothered by my disturbing him. I made it through the entire colonic (Hallelujah!), but then it came time to clean up. Robert began handing me a couple of baby wipes (for my adult sized bum) and a couple of paper towels -- and stood over me while I attempted to wipe all this mess off of me. I was so thouroghly grossed out and felt my privacy was being violated. He was actually rationing the wipes and towels like the cost of service would not afford him to buy more. I would have felt much better with a basin of warm water and some soap. I managed to put my clothes on and was at least allowed to use his restroom where I could wipe myself further (and use soap though this may upset him). He got friendly again when he asked for my card, and asked if I wanted to schedule another session. I felt so dirty leaving this place, and would never ever do this again outside of a professional environment, and not with a man as the administrator (sorry guys, but that was too much for me to handle). Fortunately, I found a woman with a sterile facility who I will be going to this week. 🙌🏽 This felt like one of those abortion clinics you would see in the movies before abortion was legal. It felt like I was doing something no one should know about. Just creepy! I say all of that to say, I would definitely do another colon hydrotherapy session, hence the two stars, but just not at this house.

S: I visited this place last week. The environment and initial interaction felt casual. When I was taken back to the room, I immediately felt uncomfortable by their set up. I was told to get on the system and wait for the owner. This also felt uncomfortable as I was expecting an initial conversation to go over the questionnaire. I am used to doing consultations before a procedure, not during. It felt like a very abrupt way to start such an intimate process. I expressed my shock and was told that this is how they do their process. I followed the instructions, and it took me a little while to get adjusted because I am used to having this procedure done on a closed system, but they use an open system. I am also taller than average and that had a factor in my discomfort using their system. When I expressed that to the owner, she was very dismissive. I contemplated leaving but decided to stay since I already submitted a deposit and was already there. The owner asked me if I put the tube in the right hole, and I found this to be an extremely bizarre and patronizing question to ask a grown adult. The entire procedure was uncomfortable for me. When it was time to talk to the owner after the procedure, I was answering her questions and she suddenly got hostile with me out of nowhere. She accused me of not answering her questions “the way people normally answer them”. She spoke to me in an accusatory manner and then started being short with me as I was engaging her in conversation. If she felt there was some type of miscommunication or if she didn’t like my personality, she is still supposed to be a professional and extend the utmost respectful customer service to someone in her establishment. If I didn’t answer a question the way she expected me to, asking for more information would have sufficed. Instead, she chose to make assumptions, be judgmental, and act on her assumptions by speaking to me in an unprofessional manner. I am still perplexed by this entire experience. After the consultation, I was asked if I wanted to schedule another appointment and I told them I would not be back. When I got home, I sent a text message to the owner stating that I want my account deleted once the payment goes through. Instead of simply doing as I asked and saying okay, I received a long text message with a defensive tone, stating that they were attentive, offered support, and thought everything went very well. Mind you, they already knew I had no intention of coming back because I already told them before I left. The same unwarranted defensiveness and unprofessionalism I received in the office is what I received in their text message response back to me. Her words were attempting to gaslight my experience and not acknowledge the discomfort that I expressed while there, or the unprofessional way she chose to speak to me. This is not an “I’m sorry you feel that way” situation, this is an “I’m sorry I missed the mark” situation. Accountability is important. The owner clearly needs to do a lot of inner work to not operate from her ego and start treating people better. I give this establishment zero stars. I would not recommend this place to any of my loved ones.

J Davis: As I sit here and read the negative reviews is sad anywho, I just want to let everyone know that for me because it was my first time and because the whole process was new to me I panicked and didn’t finish but then tried again and allowed the water to do it’s job. The pressure was overbearing which is normal. It was new to me so I will be better prepared and will go back next week or the week after. Ms. angel was super nice and knowledgeable and gave me digestive product information which I purchased to help regulate my digestive system because it is highly out of wack. I like the fact that you can start and stop the water at your discretion. Although that is not recommended. Every persons body is different though so don’t give up. The fact that you have yet to sincerely apologize, and continue to deflect, saying on what actually transpired, claiming I must be going through something, is unfortunate. That’s called gaslighting. Edit: This lady writes fake reviews for herself after real customers share their experience. Beware. Also, no one is harassing you. People need to know what the experience with you is truly like. Do not pretend to not know who this is, I was just in there two days ago. I am not obligated to list my full name in my email. The owner spoke to me unprofessionally and was dismissive of my expressed discomfort during my visit. She cut the consultation short after accusing me of not answering her questions the way she wanted me to. Very judgmental and didn't even attempt to hold a professional composure. She was hostile with me in person and via text message when I told her to delete my account since I wouldn't be back. Other than the extreme unprofessionalism, know that this company uses an open system instead of closed, so if your preference is a closed system, don't come here. She will respond and pretend not to know what I'm talking about because she does not practice accountability. She also felt the need to keep reminding me during my visit that she is a "doctor", which was bizarre. Those who are comfortable in their credentials don't do that.

Sylvia Perkins: The first time I tried to schedule a massage at Nourishing, it took 5 phone calls and 3 messages to get them to call me back with a schedule time. I was pleasantly surprised with the facility and the cafe inside. I thought it was a nice place. The second time I tried to schedule a massage with them, I went in person to schedule, and after waiting for the receptionist "manager" to get off of a personal call for 5 minutes, to avoid phone tag, they said i couldn't use my voucher because I had been there before. No where on the groupon did it say "New customers only". They insisted I get a refund. I will never come back because they are rude and pretentious.

Maryam Plavinskaya: I went in to this salon to get a quick pedicure done. The door was first closed and no one seemed to be inside. I was shortly greeted inside by an older lady who had a thick French accent. Not only she didn't know how to do a pedicure, she was not prepared. Her tools were laying around on the table, some things were fallen on the floor. I should have refused her service right away, but I was polite and went ahead with it. I got there at 3:00 and I kid you not she was not done with my nails until 4:30. What's worse is that she didn't know how to paint my nails. The mainicure and pieces of cotton were stuck on top and on the sides of my nails. The manicure was smeared as a result of her spraying massage oil at the end. What makes it worse and sick to my stomach is that she had decency to charge me 50 dollars for it. I usually go to the Asian nail salon near me where they do a quick nice pedicure that lasts for 2 weeks and costs only 35 dollars. Please don't waste your money here. I was almost in tears as i had the worst experience of all time.

Sabrina Polio: DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON FOR ANY NAIL RELATED SERVICES. I was greeted by an older woman who seemed disgruntled and inconvenienced to have a customer in the shop. I asked if she was free for a gel manicure and she led me downstairs to the basement. She told me I "had to" have a light nail color because my nails were cut short (this is completely false) and showed me her grand selection of 3 colors. She wanted me to choose clear polish (what's the point?) but I told her I would take pink. She proceeded with the manicure fumbling with supplies and repeatedly choosing the wrong equipment. Instead of a hard, gel polish manicure (which I requested and was charged for) I received a mushy, sloppy combo of gel and regular polish. The polish was applied well over the cuticle line and onto my fingers and did not dry or harden like it should with the UV light. She finished the still soft gel manicure with regular clear top coat and gave me no time to dry them. Instead she led me back upstairs, took cash out of my wallet "to help me since my nails were wet" and I was on my way. I will NEVER return to this place. I left almost in tears at how horrible this service was. I've been getting gel manicures for years and this was nothing short of a disgrace. Learn from my mistake and do NOT go to this place.

Andy Santos: This place is AMAZING. I went there for a haircut but I ended up getting a relaxing getaway. I was looking sharp with my new haircut and decided to get a facial. After that they offered me a massage for the best deal. I just couldn't resist. Overall this place is peaceful and the staff was so nice and attentive. In the week since my appointment my joint aches and pains, bloating, and overall malaise has improved significantly. The process is different- more independent, but the results have been similar. I do like that they have teas for sale (Ginger Peach is delicious). They will walk you through your first time to make sure you understand what to do. After a couple of times, you’ll get the hang of it!

She knew how to apply just the right amount of pressure where it was needed. I left the appointment feeling refreshed and relaxed and decided to make an investment in myself by coming for massages more often, not just for an occasional treat, but because I know they are an investment in my health. The prices are also very good and they have gift cards available for purchase. I will definitely return.

This is my first time here. She gave me both body massage and foot massage within the one hour. I liked both. She could identify the pain point and work on releasing the pressure.
