Washington Eye Doctors - Downtown, DC: what do users think?

Qundeel Khattak: Dr. Friedman is the best! I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now. The staff are friendly and attentive. Sean was very patient in helping me find the perfect pair of glasses! I have a rather strong prescription and Dr. Friedman has worked with me to try various contacts lenses - from custom soft to hybrid. Highly recommend!!

Jacques Moore: I’ve been a customer and patient at Washington Eye Doctors for about a year and a half. Overall it’s been great. The front desk staff are pleasant. Dr. Rosen later is knowledgeable, kind and takes time to answer questions and explain things in layman’s terms. I think perhaps one of their frame and lens specialists might need more training on listening to the customer and clearly understanding my needs before recommending something that doesn’t work (i.e. fit me properly). But the other two I’ve worked with have been excellent.

SEE Eyewear: what do users think?

Marco Martinez: I really want to give them a good review but something always comes up to ruin it. I went into the Georgetown location a couple of months ago aiming to get a new pair of glasses as my last 2 pairs from See were aging (1 broke). I ended up getting two as this was to be my 4th & 5th pair so I was excited to finally get my free pair! (This was verified by staff during my visit) The doctor who did my exam was fantastic and I really enjoyed my visit. Fast forward a few weeks & I came by with my daughter to pick up my glasses... again a great experience. I am told I will hear about my free glasses 30 days or so after this visit. Weeks go by... nothing. I called a coupe of times and am told I need to keep waiting. I called again & this time, the employee checks my purchases and it turned out my 1st pair was before the loyalty program started. As you can imagine I was quite surprised as the whole point of buying 2 pairs was around the premise of hitting the 5 pair goal. They said there was nothing they could do & I ended up reaching out to See because this was a feel bad. NO RESPONSE. There is no middle ground with this company... either it is great or just terrible. (this is not the only time it has been a major fail & yet I come back....)

Velma N. Holmes: Was in the DMV Area for the month of June and planned on getting glasses while in the area. I called SEE Georgetown and set up an appointment with Ms. Shelia. My Styling Appointment was quite enjoyable. I found four pairs of glasses/sunglasses and ordered. The glasses arrived and then the adjustments. I have worn glasses for 40+ years. And this purchase and adjustment of eyewear is the best yet. Ms. Sheila had to ship me a pair of sunglasses and their adjustment was perfect. I was grateful to fact I was able to select, order and have my glasses fitted in less than four weeks. The style offerings were exceptional. The service rendered by Ms. Shelia was Superior. Customer focused service, listening to my concerns and addressing any issues that I presented made this an experience worthy of sharing. I have already scheduled my 2022 visit with Ms Sheila. By the way my daughter and granddaughter got eye exams and were fitted for glasses. They too are quite excited and satisfied with their SEE experience. And I say thanks to Ms Brandy who works at SEE also, whenever Ms Sheila wasn’t available she stepped in and the quality of service was continuous.

JEMS Optical, LLC: what do users think?

Kyungho Shin: My glasses broke when i was on a vacation from new jersey. I needed to get an eye exam for contact lenses. Doctor was very kind, professional, and detailed. I wish my town has a store like this too. Very satisfied . Thank you

Sophia H.: Dr. Holley is professional, thorough, and considerate. He gets straight to the point but is also open to answering questions without condescension or impatience, which in my experience is rare with healthcare providers. Linda is super friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed. From 2016 to 2019, I saw Dr. Holley once a year for my eye and contacts exams. I stopped going only because of Covid, and even then he and Linda helped me order new contacts twice.

Agon Grazhdani: I decided to walk in on a Saturday afternoon because I had some questions regarding the type and fit for glasses. Jakey was very knowledgeable and took his time to answer my question. I left this place smiling due to the great customer service he provided. I highly recommend coming here.

Randy Hatfield: Disappointing service. Customer service is not supportive or friendly. After 3 unpleasant visits to purchase prescription glasses, I will not be returning. Staff display a sense of superiority and on more than one occasion have reacted with disdain to my questions.

Warby Parker: what do users think?

Gabriela Montes de Oca: Apart from being a huge fan of WP for over 2 years now, the staff at this location is amazingly friendly and cooperative. My face is usually small for regular frames, but Diana was kind enough to get special products that would fit it. The doctor who did my eye exams was also really good, continuously cleaned everything to make sure everything was pristine and the soundtrack was great too. I had a really positive experience there and I encourage people to visit this location and find Diana :)

A Pumpernickel: Warby Parker has got to be one of the best eyeglass brands out there. It was the first place I went to after I got my prescriptions & my eye doctors office told me a pair would cost $400+. Warby Parker is $95 all in. This particular store in Shaw is amazing. Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly professional & courteous. They went above & beyond for me. I have 2 Pairs now & have been courting my friends to shop from these guys.

Mike Mac: Ashley and Diego were AMAZING!! They broke everything down in very clear and concise ways, provided honest feedback, and gave me multiple options that I felt very comfortable with! I would 100% come back and do this process all over again. Thank you so much!!

Daniella: I wish they’d hire more staff! The people working here are so professional, patient, and kind. The space is also nice and clean. These people are overworked, as it is always busy, but despite it still very professional, helpful, and nice!

Voorthuis Opticians: what do users think?

Mark DC: Excellent and friendly service. Stopped by this morning - the glasses I had bought from Voorthuis a few years back had become loose. Paul remembered me and was keen to help out, heating up the frames to tighten them up and then putting in new clips (which had gone green). Another customer stopped by specially to have her glasses fixed - another branch had not done the work properly and she knew that Paul did. Am very happy to return and he invited me to come back whenever my glasses become loose agin.

LMPRINC: On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, about 2-hours before our scheduled departure from Washington DC, my wife lost a lens. We visited 2 eye care establishments across from our hotel with disappointing results. Quite accidentally, we saw your Connecticut Ave. facility. We entered, with low expectations, only to be pleasantly surprised by the prompt and exceptional service and sensitivity we received from Brian and Dr. Mazia. As a result, my wife was able to enjoy the remaining days of our vacation in comfort. Thank you very much! If ever you expand to our area of northern New Jersey, we will be among your first customers.

Keith Brown: Exceptional customer service and a great selection of frames.

Matt Pitz: Had a great experience at this store. I tried on a dozen or more pairs, they took the time to help me find one that best fit my face, and not only did not push me towards the more expensive new season pairs, but said that I look best in one of the standard versions. Great staff, will be coming here again when I need another pair. Best of all, they are significantly cheaper than other places!

Warby Parker: what do users think?

Sonny Park: I went to get my glasses adjusted and the clerk seemed to do it until I found out that she was scratching my frames. The other clerk told me it was because my frame was brushed with black paint. Do you not have instructions to adjust frames that are painted? It’s your product! Worse, the clerk who scratched my frame went missing without an apology and her colleague tried to cover for her but no one apologized until I was super upset. Worst Warby Parker experience ever.

Raiza Lisboa: I’ve been a customer of Warby Parker for more than 6 years, and this store has the most helpful staff I’ve experienced. I’ve been here a few times now, for eye exams, to get new glasses, and to repair old ones, and every time I have gotten a top notch experience. Tay, Aïssatou, and Anika were extremely kind and helpful, and I’m so glad there’s a WP in the neighborhood!

Scout Pruski: The staff here is wonderful and so friendly! Came in twice to pick out a brand new frames, pricing was excellent and store is wonderfully laid out and designed. Really cannot overstate just how welcoming everyone here is and how wonderful their customer service is. Will definitely be coming here for all optical needs in the future.

David Galper: Went to this location today to purchase a pair of sunglasses for my daughter. Malcolm did an excellent job fitting the glasses to her face, but also adjusted/tightened my WP reading glasses by (patiently) replacing the arm hinge screws; they are perfect now. I highly recommend this location based on the superb service we received.

Lindsey Hill: I always love going to see Dr Lobaugh and his staff. Everyone is beyond pleasant and accommodating. Everything is very informative and easy from beginning to end.

Mimi M.: I arrived at the office on 9/1/2021. There is underground parking nearby. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nice receptionist who assisted with my check-in. I was delighted to see that my wait time was minimal before I was called to be seen. Dr. Lobaugh is everything you want in an eye doctor. He was timely, pleasant and explained the tests/results clearly. I would recommend this provider.

They were all very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Just a fantastic experience. If I ever move to DC, I know where to come!

Benjamin Satloff: I had an amazing experience and great customer support! Both my normal glasses and my sunglasses were bent out of shape, and I walked inside fully expecting to need to buy two new pair of glasses. Instead, I was immediately seen, and after 5 minutes of bending the glasses in different directions with a careful hand, they were good as new...and free of charge! Seriously speaking, really amazing work here and the staff is incredible. They are trained professionals and truly know what they are doing, and are super fair with pricing. I will definitely be going back with any future glasses concerns, and would highly recommend that any one else does so as well.

Melissa Abel: Great walk in service to fix my sunglasses quickly!

Lexi Gu: Perfect experience at visionworks here. Tele doctor service provided for eye exams and the on-site doctor was also kind and explained things clearly. Great and friendly staff here too! Daja was super helpful and friendly. She helped me ordering the contact lenses at a good price! Highly recommended.

Bronte McMillan: Schedule a appointment in July 2020 to be examined for eye contacts! Front desk representative called me yesterday on October 20,2020 to pick up. Or it will be sent back by the following Tuesday. My 6 months supply box of contacts. Called to ask why did it take so long to inform me. As to why I’m receiving the contacts so late. The representative is acting dumbfounded. Changing my VisionWork location. Unprofessional and unorganized. & Paid out of pocket.

Warby Parker: what do users think?

Yiqing Maggie Hou: This place is a joke. My lenses fell off 1st time, they used bare hand to fix/twist the lenses/frames (almost broke my lenses); then my lenses fell off 2nd time so I left my glasses at the store for them to fix-they haven’t called me back yet (they didn’t care) after a few days at the same time persuaded me to buy a new pair b/c they were unable to fix mine. Of course, I wasn’t surprised - they were extremely unprofessional, they didn’t even had a proper tool to fix my glasses! Their glasses didn’t even last long enough (Max 2 years or less). All of their customer support staffs wear glasses to look cute - but they are not that capable nor knowledgeable to fix my glasses. Very millennial type of store, I am very disappointed ☹️! !

Josh Kurtz: Terrible customer service and incompetent optician, DO NOT BUY GLASSES FROM THIS STORE. I have purchased Warby Parker glasses in the past and had a great experience with customer service at the Georgetown and Shaw Stores (Washington, DC). After my prescription expired I went to the Bethesda store to get my new pair. This was a HUGE MISTAKE. The staff at this store do not even come close to rising to the quality at the other locations where I purchased my glasses in the past. When I went to pickup my glasses after purchase and upon putting them on I became instantly nauseous, when I told the optician (and manager) she became visibly annoyed and blamed me for giving them the wrong prescription. I pulled the prescription up to verify and once we compared them she told me that there was nothing wrong with the glasses and they met the prescription. She begrudgingly sent the glasses back for adjustments (although no new measurements were taken, or really any sort of troubleshooting). When they returned I went to pick them up. I immediately had the issue persist. The same optician bent the glasses over the nose and it made a slight bit of positive difference (having worn them for longer I realized it made no difference other than making them very uncomfortable). In hindsight I wish I had asked for a refund. I was swayed by the opticians insistence that I just needed to "get used to the new prescription". I had no issue adjusting to the new prescription in my contacts. I have since realized that there is a ripple or some sort of defect in the left lens that distorts what I see, but had to figure that out by wearing them and feeling awful. I have reached out to corporate about my issue, but nothing they do will change my opinion of this particular store. Too bad because I like the brand and have had great experiences at other stores. Great glasses at Warby Parker but NEVER purchase them from this store.

Annie S: Everyone in this Visionworks is friendly. Staffs are efficient, and the doctor was very easy to talk to. She was also helpful explaining about my current vision and how to maintain it better. After my exam, it took only a week to receive 2 pairs of eyeglasses.

Michael Lee: This was my first eye exam and Dr Bhagat was super helpful assisting me with everything and any follow up questions that I had. I usually have bad white coat syndrome and get uncomfortable going to the doctors but she was great at keeping a calm environment and providing great care. The rest of the staff were great too, definitely glad to find a friendly place to come to for my eye care.
