Edmonds Bookshop: what do users think?

Isabele Elliott: My favorite bookshop! Staff are so friendly and selection is amazing for such a small space. I've been able to find any book I've wanted to purchase here! I love their "points" system as well.
Response: Thanks so much Isabele, and we hope you'll join us for Independent Bookstore Day next Saturday April 30.

AJ Reardon: This is a small local bookstore that nonetheless manages to stock a pretty varied selection! If you are a local, be sure to sign up for the loyalty program. After purchasing 12 books you'll receive a voucher representing the average price of the books.
Response: Many thanks AJ, we appreciate your kind words. See you soon.

Kenneth .Johnson: This is great local bookstore and it’s keeping the proud tradition of independent bookstores alive and well. The store is well appointed and well stocked. You are free to browse here in a very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable and if they don’t have what you’re looking for, they will help you get it or find it. We never visit Edmonds without visiting this great store. And, we never leave the store without making purchases!
Response: Thanks for your comments and your business!

Claudia Wagener: Great experience. I ordered online on Saturday, and it was ready for pick up on Tuesday. I will continue to order books from them and keep my money local
Response: Thank you Claudia! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you again.

Charlotte Jane: This little jewel has friendly staff, a pluthera of books, cards, gifts, and community events such as a book club! I had a marvelous time perusing the many choices of jornal supplies, calendars, and cards as well. The children's section is a fun mix of new authors, old ones, and games or puzzles that are individually chosen rather than things found everywhere. I highly recommend this store if your looking for a gift that appeals to heartfelt choices!

Lara: The staff is friendly and the shop is clean. The thing is the selection is pretty lacking. They have a fantastic kids section, if you have kids it is well worth checking them out. However, unless you are looking for a cookbook or a new fiction read, there isn't much here. They have zero crafting books in the store. That being said, if you look on their website they have a ton of crafting books from independent publishers. So, hard to say.

Kylar Sorensen: Cozy little book shop! The staff is friendly, and the store shop was clean. For the size of the shop, they had a pretty good selection of books.
Response: Thanks for shopping with us Kylar, hope to see you again soon!

Steven Venard: Friendly, a great local bookstore. If they don't have it, they will get it. No need to worry about porch pirates grabbing your book.

Bridget Jordan: Great selection of new and used. Fun gifts as well. Picked up a puzzle and a children’s book. Felt welcomed by the staff and atmosphere was lovely.

Richelle Taylor: I went with my youngest granddaughter (21). We had a great time. Nice people work there.
Response: Thanks for visiting Richelle, we hope to see you again!

The Elliott Bay Book Company: what do users think?

Anna B W: Beautiful. Love the aesthetic and brilliant selection. Books, cards, maps, journals, calendars…is it paper? They have it here :p also cute gifts, toys, trinkets. The kids area is cute with a little play area and there’s even a coffee shop about 20ft away. Super busy Cap Hill area and limited paid street parking outside but you could easily spend an hour here. Check it out :)

Amanda: I was visiting Seattle last spring and I fell in love instantly with this independent bookstore! It is warm, cozy, and ‘personal’ bookstore. I can spend hours wandering around to discover books here. I personally liked the review tags by the staffs, smart idea and helpful. They also highlights local/northwest authors which is very cool. All in all, it got everything I dream on a bookstore!

Sarah Kim: The Elliott Bay Book Company is one of my favorite local book stores. It is large and homey, and the books are pretty well organized. They’ll likely have what you’re looking for, and you may walk out with much more! My favorite part of the bookstore is how many recommendations are tagged by the staff throughout the store. There is even a wall of staff recommendations. It’s nice to hear some insight on books that catch my eye, or even ones that I’ve never heard of. You can spend hours in the store looking through all of the options and reading the recommendations. The one critique I would have is that for such a large bookstore that you could spend hours in, there is not a restroom available in the store. There is a little Oddfellows cafe connected that has two coded bathrooms, though the cafe seemed to close a couple of hours before the store. Otherwise, I love stopping in The Elliot Bay Book Company!

Alexa H: Super beautiful book store! You can definitely find anything here!!! I didn’t buy anything but the aesthetics is super pleasing and if I ever come back I would definitely buy something. Super cute super touristy.

Julia Rosenthal: This is maybe the best bookstore I’ve ever gone to, the display tables have thoughtful recommendations and genres. The shelves are well stocked in a way that makes browsing easy and enjoyable. I could have spent easily a couple hours in here. Staff was lovely, dog friendly (gave my pup a treat!), they also have a loyalty punch card so make sure you ask about it!

Jaclyn Barrientes: Holy moly, what a bookstore! Came here on a friend's recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. They have a great selection of books and I loved their Pacific NW section (that's where I got most of my books). The science section wasn't fantastic but how could I ever hold anything against such a great bookstore. And to top it off, it's a beautiful place. Probably that best looking bookstore I've ever been in.

Brooke Peterson: This was absolutely an amazing bookstore! It had the amazing vibe of an academia bookstore. It was really busy when I went on a Sunday afternoon, which was to be expected, but there was enough space that it was still easy to navigate, which is often hard in bookstores! The team was super nice and helped me find a book I had trouble locating. Prices were a little high, I got four books for $106, but a few were new and hardcovers! They also do a stamp card where every $200 spent you get $20 off a subsequent purchase, which I love! Overall 5/5 I will be back!!

Benji Tri: Great, big bookstore with a ton of material and variety. Situated in a neighborhood with lots of shops nearby. Two levels, a variety of sections, from diverse voices to deluxe cookbooks, local authors to area-interest topics.

JJ Brand: As a local, this is my FAVORITE bookstore ever! PHENOMENAL choices from local writers along side with wonderful workers/suggestions for workers, you can tell all of them clearly enjoy books or even writing. Great selection for graphic novels to magazines, always up to date with new releases as well. They always offer to order any book you want if you don't see it! Fun fact: if you are a teacher, ask for a teacher discount! :) As a Cap Hill local, this is A MUST for anyone, tourist or not.

Milo Price: This is one of my favorite bookstores. The selection is amazing and the space is great for just getting lost for a while. The staff are very accommodating, and were able to directly ship me a book I'd had for pickup when I had to quarantine recently. Really just can't recommend it enough.

University Book Store: what do users think?

Danny Tram: I came into this bookstore to tạke graduation photos with a couple of friends. This was also my first time there. The bookstore is spacious and clean. There are not as many varieties of books as others, except reference books. The staffs are friendly and knowledgeable about students. I will come back at someday

Yawny_Cash: Broad selection of modern books, supplies and materials. I love the gift shop! You can find something for everyone. I wish the cafe had more food options but it's a nice area to relax and study :) staff are always friendly and very helpful.

Rob Nardelli: They have a good selection of books, but the pricing is not the best. You can definitely do better through other online retailers. The buy back program is not super great; they often reach their capacity quickly and will not buy any more, leaving you stuck. They also sell a number of custom UW books which are just private branded, less complete versions of the original author's work. Which is not useful if you keep the books for your professional library or if you need the other half of original work for a follow on class.

Jennifer Brink: I was in vacation and started an online art class and they set me up with the basic supplies to get me started in the class. Staff was super in every way. I purchased things upstairs and downstairs, each cashier was very friendly and helpful. If you need anything, I recommend this book store.

Paul: Love my school book store but it is overpriced and not enough selection as it being the main store for the school. (Refering to apparel and other items). More selection and better pricing available via online.

Michelle Kolb: I really like the variety of items located inside the bookstore. The bookstore is very clean and neat. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. For those visiting the bookstore for the first time like myself it was fantastic not only to see the books there were also gift items and novelty items as well. I would highly suggest stopping by the University Book Store and see for yourself how fun an education can be.

D Mcb: They try their best! They need prompt knowledgeable phone help tho not from novices.

Google User: Nice spot. Bit too pricey but the bathrooms don't get fixed years after years ... also there are tons of homeless who like to camp out outside , bringing a strong disturbing scent to stay for a long time.

Roseanne M: Textbooks have been moved to second floor. Staff will help students get their books(they won't let you get your own). Be prepared for longer wait times during peak hours. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Good place to get supplies for school. Not the cheapest, but when you really need something, they are well stocked. Convenient location. Easy to find.

Raquel Garcia: I absolute love this place I always fine something specially in the clearance section lol proud to support! Jiji

The Neverending Bookshop: what do users think?

Nicole Lintemuth: I love this store! After following them online for years I was finally able to stop in while on a trip to Seattle and it was so worth the wait! Cute, so well curated, and with the perfect energy! Definitely recommend a stop by
Response: Thank you for stopping by today! I hope I can return the favor in the not to distant future! ^_^

Kelsey T: I adore this bookshop. They have a wonderfully curated selection of genre books for all ages, and the owner always has suggestions if I don't know what I want. Honestly, though, you could grab pretty much any book off the shelf and know it will be worth a read because they curate the selection so well. Since this shop specializes in genre books, there are some categories of books they don't carry, but they are happy to help me order something if they don't carry it in store. Friendly, welcoming, and well worth the visit! Plus, there's a cafe and knitting shop right next door!
Response: Thank you so much for this lovely review! We look forward to your next visit! ^_^

Chantalle Noelck: Went in for the first time and can’t wait to go back! Fabulous selection of children’s picture books about Judaism, indigenous people, and great assortment of children’s picture books & board books in Spanish!
Response: Thank you so much for stopping by! We're looking forward to your return visit!

David M Gordon: Relocated September 2018 from its original location in Bothell, the Neverending Bookshop is a welcome addition to the Perrinville neighborhood. The founder and owner, Annie Carl, hopes the magic that occurred with the Bothell store will repeat and expand, especially because the new location is more than twice as large. Neverending Bookshop will still focus on science fiction and fantasy, young adult, and romance genres plus frequent visits from local and touring authors. And with Mel & Mia’s only a few steps away for dessert goodies and coffee, a good thing becomes only better. And Perrinville itself becomes a destination in its own right. See you there!
Response: Thank you!

Christopher Wilde: Small local indie book shop. Nice and clean. I found an excellent condition used book that I like, fiction historical mystery. The store is small-kid friendly. They also have local author events. Good place!
Response: Thank you so much for stopping by! ^_^

Jenn Burch: Amazing shop run by a very experienced and passionate bookseller. No better resource for sci-fi, fantasy, and disability rep books. They also have one of the cutest children's books section. Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you so much, Jenn! ^_^ See you soon for more recommendations!

R Wilkening: What a wonderful shop! My husband and I were looking for an indie book store to go to, and I was thrilled to find this place on google. We are both avid fantasy readers, and The Neverending Bookshop had many of our favorites, along with a ton of things on our lists. The owner was beyond lovely, and gave recommendations as well as speaking with us about her business and the transition to focusing mostly on women/BIPOC/LGBTQ authors. I highly recommend anyone looking for a new favorite book go check it out and support a local shop. We will absolutely be back.
Response: Thank you for stopping by! And for the lovely review! ^_^

K W (Kate): I was finally able to stop by this amazing independent bookshop in Perrinville next to Mora Pole & Aerial and in the same plaza as All Wound Up Yarn Shop. The owner, Annie, is an extremely knowledgeable and engaging; she's been in the book business for two decades and has carefully curated her selections to reflect her expertise. Although I wasn't able to visit before COVID restrictions were in place, it looks like there is a comfortable seating area for different times and several book clubs that are run through the shop are currently meeting online still I found out. I got the 2nd volume of this cool comic trade I've been after and Annie put the 1st volume of it on order for me. Can't wait to go back to pick up my book and scour through the non-fiction section again! Also, keep an eye out for the owner's original work at the checkout desk as she is a published author herself and is doing a lot of valuable advocacy work in the community. I would recommend this cozy book shop to anyone looking for quality books and lively conversation!
Response: Thank you so much for stopping by! I’m looking forward to more lively conversations! ^_^

Sean O'Keefe: I love this little bookshop. Comfy tables and chairs make it a lovely place to read and relax. It stays open late. Annie, the bookstore's owner, is a great for long, meandering discussions about books. The book selection is still small but it gets better every time I visit. The store credit for your used books gets you 50% off on purchases. It's a little hard to find (Main *Place*, which is behind Main Street), but it's worth it.

Amanda Sartor ('MandaMay): Annie is super sweet and helpful. She's great about suggesting new books for you and if she doesn't have something, she can order it and call you when it comes in. She got my daughter the Rick Riordan she's been missing for her collection. She has cool events like audiobook craft night and author events like all the time.
Response: Thank you so much, Amanda! ^_^

Third Place Books Seward Park: what do users think?

Beck Barei: We are lucky to have this independent bookstore in our neighborhood. They have a wonderful area for children's books and an excellent selection. If they don't have a book in their shop, they can get it for you - usually by the next day. Another plus is you can buy your books on their website and go in and pick them up when it is convenient. They also have a nice little selection if you need a quick gift including games, puzzles and cards.

Jennifer Wujcik: Came upon this location while heading to Lake Washington Blvd to bike. Conveniently had our gift cards from Third Place with us. Very nice store and found exactly what I was looking for. Friendly and helpful staff! Muriel's (for food) and Chuck's Hops are right next door. Did not partake in the food/beverages. On-site parking available - albeit limited.

MVH: You can find socially relevant, off the beaten path kinds of books here, enjoy lunch, dinner and espresso, pick up cool cards to send to friends, unusual yet personal gifts, all under 1 roof. Go. Treat yourself. ☕📚

J / K / S: For starters, I was at Muriel’s, which is delicious. Fantastic bagels and darn tasty lox. Good coffee from the beer place. It would be nice to be able to ring them together but certainly not a show stopper. Quite relaxing sitting outside.

SVR R.: I dropped by this weekend at the recommendation of a friend. It was a 40 minute wait for just a toasted bagel, which was overtoasted (dark brown). Also, the carrot fritters are quite burnt, to the point of being dry inside also. I was somewhat surprised they would serve these out considering how overdone they appeared. That said, it was a nice atmosphere — casual, lots of families, good variety of books (+1 star).

S.R. S.R.: Looking for the most expensive bookstore in seattle? Well this is it! It's fun to browse but it's hard to wanna spend at least 5 bucks over market price. The used book offerings are few, but dont worry they are insanely overpriced too. Sure, the connected coffeeshoo/beer place is a nice bonus. It's a close walk to seward park if you wanna grab a few drinks and read and then head to the park.

Paul: I wonderful selection of books with great beer. The perfect spot to enjoy a good book in some nice weather.

Orion Inskip: They did have some vegan options, but the food truck only had non-vegan bread. Great beer selection and cool atmosphere.

Justin Lang: The bookstore is clean and laid out well with nice wide aisles, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable . I had no problem getting assistance. The cafe is currently closed The selection of books was reasonable. They had really good parking for Seattle.

JshBet8: This place has such a delightful selection of activities. Get lost looking in the well-organized sections of books for sale, attend a community event, grab a coffee and a snack at the coffee and beer section. While I miss the selection from the old cafe add-on, the location still has a decent basic espresso selection and a now expanded alcoholic beverage menu! Phenomenal location.

BookTree Kirkland: what do users think?

Alexander Smith: A real gem of a bookshop! Chris engaged with me and placed in my hands some amazing works that I have savored for the last few weeks. Headed back for another dose. lol.

Amy Iverson Realtor: Cute place. Has wonderful selection. You can always find a nice gift for a friend or yourself here. I can spend hours just relaxing if I had the time.

Benita: Great locally owned book store! They carry new and used, very high quality, great picks on shelves!! Very sweet and knowledgeable people! Highly recommend! 🌻

Kenz McManus: This is a wonderful local bookstore where it is easy to find new favorites and order anything you don't see in store. The staff is helpful and friendly, and this has become my favorite place to pick up new books!

Eric Holtz: Nice selection and a friendly staff. It's great to see a bookstore return to Kirkland.

Cheryl Horne: Great neighborhood book shop! Chris is most helpful and ever so knowledgeable. He always has a book to recommend and suggestions for any reader. Book Tree also has a wonderful selection of children's books! Books can be also be ordered!

Rodney Rutherford: Very nice shop, friendly employees, and many really good prices on books--even cheaper than Amazon, in many cases, which is particularly surprising because of the high-end neighborhood in which it is located. A wonderful 'kids' room can be found in the back.

Shawn Chatwin: Local bookstores are the best and every time I come here I'm here for far longer than I intended to be. The owner will order anything that isn't on the shelves and is always happy to walk around with you to recommend good reads.

Marlene Meyer: This place has ambience of an old-time bookstore with lots of interesting books you don't see in the new-time bookstores or online. The sales person is funny and helpful. Prices are great. This was my first visit and I am definitely returning. Oh, also a pleasant walk from the marina.

Jeffrey DeWitt: This is a fantastic store and Chris (the owner) is an immensely knowledgeable, wise, and friendly man. He has a very special store and I strongly recommend a stop at this bookstore; the best I’ve come across in Seattle.

Ballast Book Company: what do users think?

Jimmy Harris: This is my favorite indy book store. The owner and staff are so welcoming and attentive. I mentioned to the owner on one visit that I had a little boy who loves zombies. It was just in midst of a small conversation. The next time I came in she had a humorous zombie book picked out to recommend for me - and it was even at my little guy’s reading level. I was impressed. Shop here. Support local.
Response: Thank you so much, Jimmy! I'm so glad your kiddo loved the zombie book. We're always on the lookout for our favorite people! -Kate

William Asman: An awesome local bookstore. They have a great variety and their staff recommendations section is fantastic. They'll even order books in for you if they don't have them on hand, waiting and then picking up a new book makes me feel like I'm 8 again and excited for Christmas. The staff are all friendly and helpful. If you get a chance stop in Ballast Books and check their recommendations section, or order a book you've been thinking about.
Response: Thank you for your kind review, William! We especially love the shout out to our staff recs. :) -Kate

Sean R: Super helpful. Always stuffed with tons of books and other trinkets, so you'll always find something that you want. Staff is super friendly and will order a book for pickup (usually within the week) if they don't have it! Pretty store, lots of book clubs, local and indie.
Response: Thanks Sean! I’m glad you enjoy the book and trinket selection. And thanks for the compliment on the aesthetics! (Can there even be an unattractive bookstore??) -Kate

M.A. Terence: My favorite independent bookstore on the Kitsap Peninsula. Good people who care about their community. Always ready to recommend your next read.
Response: Thank you, we appreciate you!! -Kate

Bethany Smith: I love our local bookstore! Everyone who works there is helpful and kind, they order any books they don't currently have in stock (which is important with a bookworm kid who loves to read series)and the store always has something fun and interesting they I didn't know I needed.
Response: Thank you Bethany for your kind words! We appreciate you shopping at our Indie Bookstore. Suzanne

Erika H: Lovely local bookshop with a surprisingly huge selection of books for being a small space! Cool local gifts too.
Response: Thank you so much, Erika! It's a fun game to see how much we can cram in our space. ;) We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review for us! -Kate

Victoria Lehto: Adorable book store. I love supporting a small business, especially one with books!! They had quite a selection of books, and also had knickknacks and toys, too. I bought a book and got to take a free one! That's pretty neat. I'll be visiting again =)
Response: Thank you Victoria, I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit and the free ARC! See you again soon. -Kate

Kristen Althizer: Hands down my favorite place to buy books and gifts. The staff are friendly and helpful. Bonus, they are right next to a great coffeeshop. Two things that go hand-in-hand.
Response: Thanks for the great review, Kristen! We are so so lucky to have such awesome neighbors with the coffee shop (and now the Vinyl store!). We appreciate you! -Kate

raven brown: Went in to look around with my daughter and we left with 2 novelty items. I’m usually not a big reader, it’s hard for me to stay interested long enough. There was a recommended book, “Under the Whispering Door”. I went back to the hotel and the book stuck with me. I ended up getting the book to read on my flight home, and have fallen in LOVE! Thank you to this lovely little magical place for making me fall in love with reading.
Response: Aww this is so great to hear!! We love TJ Klune here, and are so happy we were able to help you discover a love of reading! There's a book out there for everyone, and feel free to message us for suggestions of more like it in the future. -Kate

Laura Ciulla: I’ve ordered books twice now and both times I was shocked by how they went above and beyond! amazing little book shop!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind review, Laura! We appreciate your special orders with us. :) -Kate

Brick & Mortar Books: what do users think?

Jenny Ma: Nice local bookstore with gift-wrapping included for (at least holiday) purchases. They also feature local artists and have a selection of fun stuffed animals, which is nice since Redmond Town Center is lacking a toy store. Their book selection is understandably quite limited, but if they have what you're looking for, it's a nice place to buy a book! The space is tight if you're trying to maneuver a stroller, but the layout is easy to navigate.

R R: Good selection of books (that are taken care of) in a cozy open space, with a handful of neat gifts, too! Always some new and interesting finds on display. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and they can order any books not in stock that usually get there in a couple days, plus they've got a rewards program. I always enjoy stopping by :)

Julie Washburn: This little gem of a shop has knowledgeable, lovely staff (who read! and can recommend!) and an excellent selection of books. The children section includes a low table so kids can check out the pictures before making their choice. The gift items are wonderfully tempting too: calendars, stationery, ink pens, socks, etc.! I’ve felt safe going inside the store during the pandemic because, in addition to masked staff, there is lots of space inside as well. Shopping here is a real treat!

Meenakshi Bose: Great book store with an amazing collection. I had a good time browsing books here, they have good mystery book collection as well as travel books.

Steve Schwartz: Excellent bookstore, nice and knowledge staff. Got to see not one but two Newberry Award winners. Both Tae Keller and Donna Barba Higuera speaking and answering questions. The video from prior winners was also entertaining on what to expect in winning the award. A very immersive experience.

LimeFox: This is a great store and I found out they are locally owned! They have fun little gifts for your stationary needs as well. I went in checking if they had any books for Dungeons and Dragons and they totally did! Not a huge selection but the fact that they cater to those needs made me happy!

cacophonousrage: The staff here are always very helpful and super amicable. They recognize me even with my mask on. They love books, and are more than happy to order you any book that is not readily available on their shelves.

Danielle: Favorite local book store 💕 great selections, notebooks, gifts. And a new fountain pen display!

Nam Nguyen: appropriately named - something about going into a physical location and flipping thru the pages of a book and skimming thru some pages, the smell of the paper, the chatter of people around, the colors and shapes and sizes of the variety of books is just a good feeling to have before making a decision. my family frequents here more often than not as my daughter loves the childrens book selection here - there so many titles and varieties it's great and anything they don't have they typically can order for you. it's a great place that I hope i can support for years to come!

Ms. M: Very nice store. The handwritten reviews on books were a nice touch, and they have a cool selection of small items that could be add-ons and little gifts for people.

Last Word Books & Press: what do users think?

Sarah Eadie: I appreciated the house-published books, and curated used books. Cool space and nice folks.

Chris Kahclamat: Never got to look at inventory so can’t comment on that. Attempted a few times to patronize the store in the middle of the afternoon but it is always closed. Asked owner about store hours but he pointed at a sign on the door (the info on which did not match what he told me) and seemed bothered or annoyed to answer questions about his store hours. Caught me by surprise. Supposedly, it’s only open for 2 hours a day. Left feeling as if potential customers were an inconvenience. Won’t come back. Also upon looking at other reviews that described a similar issue, and reading the establishment’s reply, am expecting to be ignored or to get a petty, snippy reply back maybe accusing me of being an infection risk or attacking me. Pettiness from a store owner is a red flag. Expect the same.

Donna Hartley: After reading reviews and owners rude jabs this will never be a place to bother even trying. That being said I can understand owners huge concern for his child’s safety during pandemic. Unfortunate he wasn’t more professional with his comments.

Anonymous Anonymous: Can’t browse books. Which is pointless since it’s a used book store. Found another used book store that actually allows you to come in and browse. If I wanted to order online for curbside pick up id just order offline and have it mailed to me. All well, they must not want business.
Response: Hello Brittany. Thank you for understanding there is an ongoing pandemic and the safety of our employees, their families and our customers are of the utmost importance. We are planning on opening up to the public again soon. We’re sure you found something wonderful to read that matches your intellectual maturity. Stay safe out there.

M Brummond: Definitely my favorite bookstore in Olympia. Some things can be a little pricey, but you cant beat the selection of niche books and local zines

Loomis: I find cool, old books here! They make zines! I like them because they are weird and nice and I prefer to avoid supporting "normal" and boring businesses and people 👍. These guys are skilled at finding rare stuff, if you are a lookin' for that 🙌

Kenny Palurintano: They're not open to actually shop for books, just "curbside pickup" - Come on, you're a used book store. The whole purpose of a used book store is to browse, smell the books, find things you didn't know you were looking for. Guessing this business won't survive the rest of 2020.
Response: Hello Kenny. Thank you for the wonderful review and for the well wishes for the future. You’re probably the person who came to the door without a mask on today. We are only open for curbside pickup during this time due to the high risk status of my son who is three years old and has already undergone one open heart surgery with another planned before he turns five. If you had waited a moment before walking off I would have explained all of this to you and offered to search our inventory for something you might be interested in, or even offered you suggestions based on your reading habits. Oh well. Guessing you don’t really care. Neither do we and we hope to be around for another twenty years.

Mike Phelps: I was not impressed. I went in because I had a series of books I wanted to read but the library was lacking the first in the series so I thought I would give a locally owned source a shot. Ordered the book and was told it would be there in 3-4 business days. I went back the next week and it wasn't there which wasn't disturbing, things happen. What was bothersome is that they didn't even seem to have a system set up for tracking special orders, not even index cards in a box. The clerk had to rummage around and the answer was ultimately held in someone's memory. I went back in another week, still no book and found out it was apparently out of print. They were ready to give me a refund but without any sort of special order track in system didn't have any idea what amount to refund me and asked me if I remembered what I had paid! Unfortunately I won't be going back there and ordered the book I wanted online through a major retailer.

Ruth Bailey: Went here to look for some cookbooks/books about beer and came away empty-handed. Shop seemed crowded and disorganized and yet with a very poor selection (at least in the food catagories). However, if you are looking for a book in a different category you might have better luck.

Ryan LaPlante: Small bookstore with a great selection.

Arundel Books: what do users think?

Justin Van: The inside is very well maintained and has a nice aesthetic. Wide variety of books and they're all very competitively priced. Found some rare math textbooks which was a nice surprise

Brendan Monroe: So many wonderful bookshops in Seattle but this one is my favorite. I love that they feature books from smaller, independent publishers and their literature in translation section is the bomb! Incredibly friendly staff as well. This place is just the best!

Kristen Maslanka: A delightful little boo nook wit an array or used amd new books. Walls of books! Need I say more? The selection was limited to the small space but the bookkeeper was friendly and happy to order for me. He was knowledgable and made sure the environment was safe. ( there was a maskless individual next to me he politely reminded to put on his mask while indoors to.) Stop by this delightful place.

R James: Amazingly prompt with a price for a vintage book that beat other vendors. I feared the book might be in poor shape, but it is excellent - exceeding expectations. And deliver was surprisingly prompt. When I called for information about the volume, I received immediate information from someone who retrieved to book and told me about it. I couldn't be more pleased! Thanks to Arundel Books! Great work and much appreciated!!!

Belen Herrera: Hours are Noon - 6pm daily. Located in Pioneer Square. They literally just opened last Wednesday. Cute shop and the aesthetics inside/architecture are beautiful! Hand sanitizer before you browse. Limit 30 min of browsing which is mostly what I did.

Molli: Cutest bookstore in all of Seattle. Knowledgeable staff. Great vibes. Amazing selection. As a bonus — there is a doughnut shop across the street. Books and then doughnuts? You can’t go wrong.

Nate Jacobson: Amazing little book store. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Didn't have the particular book so they ordered it and it arrived within 3 days.

Spencer Nilsson: Although I didn't buy anything, I got the distinct impression Arundel is very selective about their secondhand books. The selves felt very well curated, and offered a better selection than many larger bookstores I've been to.

amantastic: Nice little shop! Very reasonably priced books. I found a perfect train book to read on my train ride home.

Jordan Murphy: Today I stopped in just to browse and see if anything caught my eye. While I ultimately didn't end up purchasing anything, a number of books were of great interest to me and overall it was just very impressive to see both the quality but also the variety of books in this used bookstore. However I wanted to make it a point to leave a review not from the above but because the gentleman who helped me was absolutely wonderful and extremely knowledgeable! I noticed he had several early 1900s books with illustrations and it reminded me of a book I once saw in France over a decade ago that I wanted to buy but couldn't afford at the time. I described him the type of book and he immediately knew what I was talking about, a couple of possible authors, described a series of books on different places and how the book I saw I might fit into that series, helped look online as well as sort through some of the books he had all to find this for me. When I left, he had taken down my information and if he is able to locate the sort of book or ever see something similar come into the store he is going to contact me. I just thought his immediate knowledge about this obscure type of book that I mentioned was impressive but then even further to take the time and effort to try and find this for me was really wonderful! Thank you and I definitely recommend this place!

Third Place Books Ravenna: what do users think?

Frieden Esperer: Third Place Books Ravenna is a classic bookshop. Set in a pleasant Seattle neighborhood, Third Place has an ambiance that exudes both a great emphasis on quality customer service, and a passion for books. The shop is a wonderful setting for browsing titles. Its a great place for children, with a tremendous age-appropriate section guaranteed to delight kids of all ages, and bring smiles to parents' faces. The book keepers do a fantastic job of curating popular new titles, and making certain that there are plenty of all-time favorites to flip through as well. Enjoy your visit and the meal you can get in the adjacent restaurant - Cafe Arta & Pub.

Katie Seaward: Hands down best bookstore. Local independent bookstore; lots of book recommendations from knowledgeable staff, well curated selection of books, gifts, all types of genres very well represented. Excellent selection of used books as well. I’ve taken my hoards of gently read books there many times and been well credited. I would say best in the area as far as how much credit you can earn for used books.

Larry Wall: Nice little book store. Good selection. I love the mix of new and old books. Thier prices on new books are list and thier used books are slightly discounted. They pay fair prices for used books but are very selective. You won't find great deals here but you are far more likely to find something interesting that neither a chain bookstore nor a typical bargain bin used bookstore would have.

Nadine Cooper: Love this shop in every way possible. From the numerous selections of literature, snappy book orders that appear like magic, to the every," one is welcome" kind of feel. I will be back again and again, my whole family loves the experience.

Justin Mumma: very nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly, HOWEVER the prices are extremely high. Like used books around $15-20 and new books around $30. If price doesn't matter to you, it a nice store. But for me, this is a deal breaker. I'm not going to pay $26 for a used book that I could buy for $14 new online. I like those used book stores with $5-10 each books. Too pricy

Terran Wheeling: Hadn't been in this building since it was the PCC a million years ago and it is unrecognizable. There is a restaurant in the back! Third Place Books, Ravenna! I live closer the the LFP shop but this might be my favorite local independent bookstore chain. Waldenbooks (do I sound like I've been living in a cave?) it ain't and I'm grateful.

Alice Crowe: Decent selection, nice ambiance, decent masking while we were there. Has a nice little coffee shop with vegan offerings, but they were out of lemon tea.

Sarah Alexander: Came to check out the coffee shop and was wow-ed by the book store. Ended up getting a book to go with my coffee. Also they will buy used books from you, how cool is that?

Kent H: Nice place and peaceful. The staff are very friendly. There are a lot of new and used books with various kinds. The café in the bookstore is a good idea to work and study.

RYAN ILSOO JEONG: Nice place with coffee shop & very kind and helpful clerks. A lot of books are well codified according to new books and used books. Plus, you can sell your used books here.

C L Easton Books: what do users think?

silver hedgehog: This place has to be the coolest bookstore I've ever seen! The smell had me before I ever even looked for a book. The different aisles filled to the brim with vintage to new, young to old; something for everyone. I could go on and on, but I have to leave a few pages for someone else.

Terry Treadway: Fantastic store, books for just about any niche. I found more western paperbacks than I've seen in any other store in 15 years! Huge selection of paperbacks but the hardcover and collectible books are just amazing. Truly a store to visit, you will find it worth a drive!

Lorien Shaw: Well stocked, clean store with a knowledgeable owner. Parking is easy, and prices and store hours are reasonable. Added benefit is that lovely used bookstore smell, which always feels like home.

Wen-Hsin Moh: I am not much of book person, but this bookstore blows my mind!

Transplanted1: This is just the best used bookstore I have ever been to by far. It really is a collectible bookstore. So far I have always found what I was looking for even when it was an obscure title. The store is beautifully organized and clean, the owners clearly love their bookhandling craft. Prices are competitive if not better than online. Many of the books I purchased there had been recently reprinted and available on Amazon in mass paperback but Easton’s carried the beautiful old hardback editions with quality printwork and in great condition too. Books are a work of art. Thank you Easton’s and I love your (more recent) brick location on 1st Street in Mt Vernon.

DrWatson221: Great used bookshop. Very knowledgeable owner who's always willing to chat. I always find something for my collections.

Dr Steelhead: As a non book store person (my wife's the afficionado), I was blown away by the depth of stock and orderliness of the inventory. Friendly staff and little town. What's not to like?

Konstantin Tishkov: The history of this place - Established in 1976! This book store takes you back in time. There are so many books in here that I never knew existed until I found them while browsing the shelves at Easton’s. This store is a Gem of (a small town) Mount Vernon. Every book lover must stop in to browse. There’s nothing else like this north of Seattle. Highly recommend

Annika Cornell: This space is a bookworm's fantasyland. The shelves are filled to the brim with books, and they each extend well past arm's reach above the head. From mythology to Pacific Northwest culture to home improvement and science fiction, C L Easton has it all. Getting lost inside the maze of books is easy, especially if one catches your eye and you decide to read a bit in the chairs provided. Pricing can be steep for some books, but the majority priced over $20 are hardcover, vintage (published 1920s/earlier), or signed by the author. The store does a nice job of informing customers when there is highlighting in the book just in case that would deter them from actually purchasing it.

Don Campbell: Older owner dude rude the multiple times I’ve been in. Condescending. Asks if you need help then scoffs if your in the wrong section according to his organization system. Is fantasy in regular fiction or sci-fi? A literature scholar like Borges writes a few short stories, where would I find it? Prices aren’t super low either

Heather A Adams: This is a really great bookstore and gift shop in the heart of downtown Burien. They sell a very large variety of books but they also sell gifts stuffed animals games and more. They have a really nice children’s section where kids can explore and get curious and I know if you bring in a title that they don’t have they can order it pretty quickly and easily. They’re in a great location right by the Burien farmers market and they have a one dollar book rack out front which always seems to have good stuff on it.

Marc Giedeman: One of my favourite bookstores to go to. The selections can be hit or miss for what the bookstore is but the staffing and location is amazing.

Stacey Lester: Nice little book store with a side selection of titles. LOTS of stuff for kids and YA, new and used.

Shannon M: The store has a mix of new and used books, and while the in store inventory isn't huge they are always willing to order anything they don't have.

Audrey Hoonan: Absolutely LOVE this place! Well organized, clean and bright. Does not feel like a “second hand” store what so ever. I also love utilizing their website online to check what books they have in stock if I’m looking for something in particular before I head to the store. If I’m just browsing, everything is still so organized and the staff is more than willing to help you find what you need. They also have lots of fun gifts, like cards, bookmarks, jewelry etc if you need an easy gift idea. I also was able to sell about 10 books and got store credit, I bought two used books today with my store credit for $6! Such a steal!! Will always come here first for any of my book needs.
Response: Thank you so much for the outstanding review, Audrey! I'm so glad you like how we present ourselves! We try really hard to carry not only quality new products, but well-kept used products as well! I do want to make a clarification that our online store is partnered with Bookshop, so it more or less shows what is available to order, not what is on our shelves. However, we are always happy to check our inventory when customers call or email us before stopping by! Thanks again, look forward to seeing you again!

Stephen Van Ingen: Great little neighborhood bookstore. Friendly service and welcoming atmosphere.

Erika Oberle: Always enjoy checking out this little shop for books and gifts. It is a smaller bookstore so sometimes they don't have what I'm looking for, but I am able to call ahead of time and they are always super friendly and willing to double check their inventory for the title I am looking for

RON TANZI: An excellent neighborhood bookstore in Burien with a good overall selection and a very helpful staff. Picked up a few children's books for my granddaughters. Good prices, especially for hardbacks. Be sure to bring a mask because they are required here.❤

Katie Voss: This little bookstore has a great selection of new and used books. They even have stationary and art for sale, and a lot of books/short pieces by local authors. I'll be back again soon!
Response: Thanks so much for the review, Katie! We're glad you enjoyed the store!

Sedalia Cole: Best bookstore I’ve ever been to!

Roy Howie: Great place to find used books from times past.

Kalee Quiñones: I think this is my favorite place in Seattle! The cashiers are always extremely kind and helpful. I never fail to find a gem in the great selection. Love walking down the ramp to this hidden, charming n cozy book spot.

Marisa Cole: Very cool long time book store going back to the 70s I believe. Hidden away yes. Super cluttered with endless jems of rare and interesting books. Its basically right under Numoes night club and the Tattoo shop. I love it. It has all the nostalgic qualities of ancient old books and records too. The owner is known to haggle. :)

STRESS COAST: Real genuine folks. Helped suggest a book to my taste pro-bono and we weren’t even in their store. Keep going y’all!

nathan collins: Very cool little used bookstore tucked away below ground level. Very friendly space and lots of interesting finds!

Jay Conrad: Love this place! Perfect for a book hunt and finding things you never knew existed. Super affordable and great condition, great for gift shopping

Dani Witherspoon: Seems like a really neat spot, but twice now it wasn't open during posted hours when I tried to check it out. Be willing to have to walk away without going inside if you come to peep on it.

Evan Collins: A wonderful used book store hidden down in the building, has been around for 40 years but will be closing in the next few months 😢

Corey Skillman: towers of old books, grumpy old men, and everything you've ever wanted from a hole in the wall bookstore. The. Best.

Marcus Wong: Great New bookstore in Madison Park. Great curated selection of books. Friendly owner and staff.

Tegan Tigani: This tiny bookstore is such a gem! Thoughtfully curated, full of surprises, with smart, kind staff. I never leave with fewer than four books.

A T: Wonderful little shop with simply the best selection of books (I wanted to get them all and I'm not necessarily a bookstore geek). Very attuned and helpful staff.

Oscar Enrique Phelps: Cute book store!

Asia Citro: It may be small, but it's mighty! What a great new addition to Madison's storefronts. They've got a wonderful curated selection of books!

Frank Bozzo: Great little book store, and a lovely addition to the neighborhood.

Green Monkey: Good selection considering that this is a boutique sized store. Very helpful staff. I will be back.

Magus Books: what do users think?

Kendyl Linn-Sanchez: Stumbled across the store on my way to see the cherry blossoms, and asked if they had something I had been vaguely intending to buy. A search was conducted quickly and soon I had the book in hand. Grateful to support a small business. Really great customer service; thank you to the staff.
Response: That makes me so happy! Thank you.

Thomas Johnson: So glad that Magus books still exist, what with Covid and the general demise of book shops in general. The selection is awesome, the staff are always helpful and friendly. They have a ton of options and categories. You cannot go wrong here.
Response: Thank you so much!

Laura Dwyer: The employees are very nice and helpful. There's an excellent selection of books. They give me credit for books I bring in. I come from White Center I love it so much! The best!

Tamara S: Awesome selection! Very well stocked, inventoried, and organized used bookstore! Staff are super helpful and you'll walk out with way more books than you came for.

D Mcb: The best it gets for bibliophiles. Be literate. Read. And get off your phone to live read and experience reality - you'll find it here in print. Oh and don't forget to read john fowles book by the same name.

moosie: SOOOO LOVELY! Precious little book store. Very well organized, many sections as well that vary from different genres. The staff seemed nice, although obviously in a bookstore the main priority is the books, which is more of what I had interacted with. Easy to set up an account just number, and name. Bit warm in the summer of course with the books acting as insulation, although I'm sure in the colder seasons it's a very cozy little spot. It looks small from the outside but they have a fair amount of rows, and a nice amount of different sections.

Fraser Martens: Impressive catalog, especially of fiction, at very good prices. Well worth a visit.

John Kearney: Section on PNW history had nothing written by or about indigenous peoples. Had to go to the back of the store where "Native American Studies" was lumped together with Mythology. Doesn't help that all 7 of the staff I saw were all white in an area as diverse as U District.

Michael Matthews: Best used bookstore in the GPNW! Glad to see it still growing strong and full of books.

Jeesoo Yoon: This is a super adorable second hand book store and a must-see if you're ever in the University area! Prices are super reasonable, they always have the most interesting reads, and they reward frequent shoppers which I appreciate. Parking can be a tiny bit tough since it's so close to the Ave, but you can usually find street parking and if not it's a pretty short walk from the Burke Museum parking lot. I would really recommend to those who love the cute, small bookstore, antique feel. It would be adorable to take someone on a date here and pick out a book for each other too.

Half Price Books: what do users think?

Mango Pakora: When I say I've been to several bookstores across the west, I mean I've been to SEVERAL. Half price beats everything else. It has everything I'm looking for, and it's LITERALLY half priced! Sometimes even cheaper. Staff is always friendly, happy to assist, book supply and availability is amazing, I feel like I could spend hours and hours here just admiring the deals and buying books to my hearts content. Please stay open, Half-Price! I may be from Colorado but I think I'd fly to Washington just to come here and buy my graphic novels. Lol!

Paul John Bartusiak: I've been to HPBs in Dallas, Chicago, and now Seattle. For Seattle I found this location best, much better than othe HPBs in the area. The selection was great, very spacious, courteous staff, and very clean bathroom. Most of all, though, great collection of books!

Zanza X: I always stop at this store to see what the new goods are! They sell lots of manga, Anime and video games old as well as new. Ive bought everything ranging from a nintendo dsi to diablo on pc. The rare stuff seems to pop up here too like Action Replays, Gamesharks, game genies, and collectable items. The manga section honestly competes with Barnes and Nobel and has better pricing as well! For those of us who read longer length books too, they have staple books like The Foundation Trillogy, all of the Cthulhu/ lovecraftian books, any and all of the LOTR and the sword of truth books. My wife also finds her Cassandra Clair books here too. There is no reason to not stop by this store, there is something for everyone here.

Dana Mcmillen: I love HPB!!! I wish they would put a store in Spokane.

Jorge and Jana Sucre: Easy to find specific books or just browse. Got some great books for my kids and for myself too!

Skyler Schoos: Half price is a gem among gems, a truly fantastic experience, and staffed with the nicest people around. You will not be disappointed

George Hennen: Amazing people, great vibe, 0 reason not to go.

Chew Yoong, Chang: As organized as usual.. good place to find some hidden gems. Was not too crowded and close to some restaurants for lunch and dinner

Lulu Melrose: Fair prices but I think that any person of age should be able to sell books.

Geethapriya Kumaraguru: Due to pandemic getting appointment to sell books is tricky I got my appointment two weeks later from my call even after getting appointment I couldn't sell my exam preparation books since they don't have much resale value. They verified individual with state ID. customer service is good , parking lot is Available very spacious and organized effectively than half price bookstore in cross roads mall Restroom are available

Riverwalk Books: what do users think?

Denise Enck: Marvelous little bookstore with a thoughtfully curated selection of books in many categories, in a cozy atmosphere. They also have a nice assortment of gifts and some toys. The children's department, upstairs, is worth checking out if you have young readers in your life. We always stop here when we're in Chelan, as the selection and friendly, knowledgeable employees make it a can't-miss destination.

Shane Flemens: Thanks, Riverwalk, books! I'm stoked to have my 2 books, Conviction and Deep Conviction, in their store. Also, this beautiful little store in the heart of downtown Iconic Lake Chelan is absolutely adorable

Chad Steiner: Riverwalk books is our absolute go to for birthdays or special gifts or the right book. We’ve been shopping here for a number of years now and love it. Always a great card or nice gift for the loved one or friend. We really enjoy visiting!!!

Mike Monteleone: Small local bookstore with a good genre variety. Sci-fi/fantasy section small but that's my tastes.

Anne Williams: I love this bookstore. It has such a welcoming and warm feeling. I always went in when I came to Chelan to visit my daughter. Now I call Chelan my home and it's my favorite place. Carol is the best, so nice, welcoming, and knows everything about the best books to read She gives 100+ customer service. Its so important to support small businesses.

Stephanie Milliette: I love Riverwalk Books! Libby always has something good in stock from the most current books to the classics and everything in between. She also has the best children's section ever; my 7 year old daughter begs me to go to the book store at least once a week, it's definitely worth a visit!

Cristina Blocher: Cute two story book store. I came in was pleased to see the cute selection of unique and inexpensive toys. I also appreciate that the kids books/toys are upstairs so it's not a large distraction when I have my kids. I was able to look for what I needed and quickly leave without having to battle it out with my son.

Bradley Liebrecht: I recently discovered Riverwalk Books on a trip to Chelan. I have been to Chelan a few times before but this was really the first trip where I had time to stroll the shops. This bookstore is wonderful. The shop owner is delightful and she took the time to show me her collections and recommend a few titles. There is a little bit of everything there - something for everyone. Stop by if you have the time.

John Clarke: The amazing selection in such a small store is astounding. The owner is very polite and quite helpful. There is a great selection of children's books and toys and you can tell how much love is put into the store.

Kurt G: River walk Books is the perfect small bookstore. The store offers something for every reader. The proprietor always has books chosen for their wonderful content, story or exquisite writing.

Watermark Book Co: what do users think?

Greg Knapp: We were visiting from out of town and wandered in. They have a little bit of everything, a bit of an eclectic selection, but don't seem to go deep. I like military history and was at a loss to see anything at all. They do offer a number of staff picks for all their team members, which is nice. We asked for a little help in picking out a book for one of our granddaughters and he was very knowledgeable and helped us significantly with our selections. Definitely worth stopping in.

Ranae W.: Wonderful bookstore! A quaint little shop in downtown Anacortes. Books, cards, games, and gift items for that person that has everything! Thumbs up!

Carrie King: Small town helpful with big city selection. This is the quintessential bookstore you hope to go to. Many other fun things in addition to books too. I highly recommend them!

Lyndsay Maier Lujan: Absolutely wonderful store and staff. I recently contacted Watermark Book Company asking if they could send me some books. I wanted to make sure I was supporting a local business, but I also wanted to find some great new reads while stuck at home. The owner called me almost immediately to discuss books and hand-selected six new books (pictured). I am so impressed with the selection and cannot wait for more recommendations. Thank you!!

Jackie G: The BEST little bookstore for new books in Anacortes. If they dont have it, they can order anything you need.
Response: Thank you for the review and the stars!! We work hard and are so glad to hear that it shows :)

Patrick Conlan: Well stocked local bookstore. Why not get a book for that special someone or the curious child inside everyone? Staff are knowledgeable and helpful - ask for help finding the perfect gift!

Ryan McNamee: Amazing “small town” bookshop with a great selection. It’s worth the visit.

LJ S: Great selection, friendly, cheerful staff, appreciate their mask required policy.

Bob Peterson: Fine selection. Very courteous team and clean and respectful environment to browse!

Laura Spehar: One of A-town's two independent book stores. This store carries NEW books, cards, calendars, gift items and they gift rap for free. The staff are always eager to help you find what you are looking for, very friendly folks. This establishment is another town treasure, not to be missed.
Response: Thank you for your kind words Laura, I will pass your kudos on to the rest of our team.

Tacoma Book Center: what do users think?

Jake: So first off, to all you babies crying about masks... I don't like it nor agree with it either. Like the saying goes though, "don't judge a book by it's cover". My wife, two daughters and I didn't have masks when we entered. The staff gave us masks and it was fine. Now, this is an amazing book store. We travel alot in our RV and book stores are always a must for us wherever we go. The selection here is almost mind boggling. Thank you guys for the friendly service and keeping this wonderful book store going!

March: Masks are required to be worn in the book store. Drove 20 minutes here with the 5 of us. Didn't have masks with us. I wish it was somewhere online so people wouldn't waste thier time. And yes I actually called about something else prior to coming and didn't even think to ask because masks aren't required anywhere anymore that I've visited.

Andrew C: This place is fantastic. It's easy to get lost in the stacks and lose track of time. I was able to find some great older books I haven't seen anywhere else.

johnny quest: Wall-to-wall books, that sweet old book smell, hard covers worth buying, a sci-fi / fantasy section so well fleshed out I literally come here before going anywhere else if there's a book I'm looking for. 10/10

Sara Kenworthy: We love this place. Great bookstore. Masks required.

Kathleen McGrath: Amazing place! So many books, great prices and very well organized! We'll definitely go back!!! Discovered a couple of great finds!!!

Asriel K.: The Tacoma Book Center is awesome! It has such an amazing selection of books! There's so many to choose from! I was especially impressed with their collection if Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books. Just look at the picture I took of it! Anyway, this is definitely an ideal book buying destination.

Nathan Zastrow: Now this is a bookstore! It smells like pulpy heaven, and has every category of book you didn't know you needed until now. Well done, guys! I'm actually glad I don't live near Tacoma, because it wouldn't be kind to my free time or my checkbook.

Elmer Andersen: Very large selection of books, very helpful worker. Wish they opened earlier.

Shelley Raulerson: They have books on everything, I spent a good two hours there and this was my first visit. I will definitely be back.
