Early Steps Bilingual Preschool: what do users think?

Mercedes M: This unique row house was re-converted into a beautiful bilingual preschool, that is a little known secret in Georgetown! The pictures posted are from the previous owners who sold (without warning parents) out to the new company, Early Steps Bilingual Preschools. They have 3 other highly rated centers in NoVa. It took some serious reconstruction to create the optimum learning areas for young children and the company retained artist to transition this little gem. The older photos do not give justice to how beautiful the center is and how much TLC the new owners put into their new baby school! Take a look at the website for further information about curriculum and the education processes held there. This new school has a great future!

Jeffrey Muench: Wow!! Could not be more pleased!. We reviewed about 10 programs for our 1 year old. Visited three and settled on Little Seasons. The reasons: teacher: child ratio, the flexibility the programs have with our and our sons schedules, and most importantly, watching the children. With the latter, children don't lie and the positive way they interacted with the teachers was great. There was real affection from the teachers to the children and more importantly, from the children to the teachers! We have been there for 3 months and it started great and I get even more pleased as the months go by. From the intense supervision and fun during splash days on Friday, to watching on the continuous feed cameras, one of the teachers giving hugs and pats on the back to my son for 5 minutes after he cried after he bumped his knee, to watching my son run back to one of the teachers every 4 minutes to give a hug for 30 seconds before off to play somewhere, to the teacher sitting with the toddlers in the dark during nap time while doing paperwork to be near them! I could go on and on with so many examples. It is so nice to be surprised to the positive side with an organization, and Little Seasons is one of those places. My wife and I could not be more pleased.

Parent LittleSeasons: We are not longer sending my child there because of the mediocre administration beginning with the Director all the way to the Board of Directors. When I'm looking for a child care center for my child, who the Director is speaks volumes about the center as a whole. I want someone who eludes both great leadership and communication skills and displays a level of respect for her employees as well as her costumers- the parents. Unfortunately, that can't be said about the current Director. Communication between the parents and the administration was also abominable. My child's class went through multiple teacher replacements and not once were the parent's notified about the changes, we didn't even receive a formal introduction of the new teachers. That's not to say that we didn't grow to appreciate and love each new teacher, however, it was just a little startling to see a strange face almost every month. The lack of communication stemmed all the way up to the Board of Directors. I never got the opportunity to meet anyone on the board, but their ability to communicate major changes (e.i. unexpected tuition increases!) was dismal at best. I became close with a lot of other parents at this center and while I don't want to speak for anyone else, I can't say that most of them wouldn't agree with this post. However, despite my problems with the administration, I have nothing bad to say about the teachers. To be honest, they are the reason we stayed for as long as we did. They are attentive, and caring and my child was always happy to see them. They are a group of incredible teachers it's just a shame that they are wasting their talent on a place that doesn't seem to appreciate their hard work. Little Seasons doesn't deserve to have such talented teachers working for them. Overall, don't be fooled by the fake facade that is put on by the women running that place. Your children deserve the best, and frankly this place just isn't that.

Former Parent: The teachers are good. That is the only thing that is working. Unfortunately, they all leave after a short amount of time, which can be disruptive and traumatic for toddlers and preschoolers. They need a warm and loving environment, not drama. Because of the terrible management, and the "board", who don't seem to have any clue what they are doing, and want to run the program on a shoestring, the staff turnover is high and the environment in the center is not conducive to learning. Our child was not happy there and that even affected his behavior. Once we moved him to a quality program, he improved dramatically and is one happy kid now. Apparently, Little Seasons was barely scraping by, even by OSSE government standards. Many of their licenses were temporary and conditional. Our family was duped by the nice facade the school presents, just like most of the parents who enrolled their kids there. After enrolling, we realized it was not a good place, but we could not change preschools quickly, because of the scarcity of available and affordable quality programs in the area. The school is only open and working because of this scarcity and taking full advantage of the situation.

leguiguren: My daughter has been attending this preschool for almost a year and it has been a wonderful experience. When I look for a place to leave a child I want them to be safe, to be loved and to have fun. The curricular part is important, but to be honest and afterthought for me. She has made friends with the other kids, the teachers and the rest of the personnel. Every morning she wakes up and sing the songs she learnt during the week. she runs to the door when I pick up her backpack, and that's enough for most parents to know she loves the place. Academically, she went in there barely talking and now she talks, sings, counts and knows the colors in 2 languages.

Doreen Noveno: I have been working in this center for over a year, and I have loved it ever since. The director and assistant director and all my co-teachers are awesome and very experienced. We do our best to maintain good communication and relationship with all the parents, and we make sure that they are always involved in the children's activities.

Rebecca S: I was skeptical based on reviews about the place but took a chance. The people and families are nice. The Director and Asst are lovely and very helpful. I like the structure for my little one and the teachers have told me they are enjoying it. I saw the posts and was skeptical at first, but I have been there for a month and we like it. Looking forward to the play area and the warm weather so the kids can go outside. I would recommend to others.

juan carlos cabrera: I have my baby there, they take babies as early as 6 weeks old and love being able to see her thru the web camera system they offer, I could see her all day in the room and outside when they are out at the patio they have. What I like the best is that they have a lot of staff available to take care of the kids.

Talentos Bilingual Child Development Center: what do users think?

Nirvana Darryl: Beware, this daycare will pull the rug out from you. We toured and put a down payment down to hold a "guaranteed spot" for our son in early January, a few months before he was born. We were guaranteed a spot for August 15, the week I planned to return to work. I called in June to check in and to schedule a time to bring the baby for the teachers to meet him well ahead of the start date. A week after my call, just before we were supposed to meet again, a representative called to let me know that they would no longer be able to honor the guarantee for our spot and that I should come by to pick up my deposit. As you can imagine, this was completely stressful. In this area, it is nearly impossible to get into daycare 6 weeks before you need to return to work. They completely left us in the lurch and did nothing to try to help the situation.

L Porter: We were at Talentos from 2015-2018. My daughter absolutely loved it here. It's such a warm and caring environment. Daily, she talks about her teachers and friends from Talentos. I know her early experiences here will be warm memories for many years to come.

andre holmes: A wonderful environment for learning and a excellent and loving staff!
Response: Thank you for your kind words and review

Bambini Play & Learn Child Development Center and Spanish Immersion Program: what do users think?

Savannah Keith Gress: Bambini is an absolutely WONDERFUL childcare center. I cannot say enough good things about it. I feel so happy sending my three-year-old there every day because I know he will be engaged, loved, and very well cared for. Unlike almost every other centers I visited (and I visited 20 across the city), Bambini really takes care of their staff which in turns means that teachers are happy to work there and care for our children. Teacher turnover is low (we haven't had a teacher change in a year), and teachers are very talented professionals who actually like their job (you can tell by the way they engage with the kids). The other thing that I love about Bambini is that they serve high quality, real food to our kids - no added sugars, whole ingredients, and meals that I would be happy eating like cilantro chicken and chilaquiles (no chicken nuggets or hamburgers in sight!). They also have talented professional like Senor Lilo come and teach music class, and they have a yoga teacher who my son loves. This is all on top of the wonderful Spanish immersion - my son has learned so much and really speaks Spanish. Finally, the center director and the rest of the leadership team are WONDERFUL. We love everyone who works there. It's head and shoulders above any other daycare I visited. Go try it out!

Barbara Cunha: Great place! Excellent teachers!

The Montessori School of Washington DC: what do users think?

Hortensia Gjonca: We strongly recommend this school, not only for what it offers to your child in the academic way, but mostly for the way they offer it, using the Montessori philosophy. The teachers in this school are amazing! They are always smiling! You can easily understand that they love what they do by the way they approach our kids! Our daughter had the smoothiest transition ever when she first started to go to MSOW, thanks to the teachers. Teacher-parent relationship is also amazing!

Sarah Sienaert: My 3-year old daughter has had a wonderful experience at MSOW. We witnessed her growth and development take off immediately after she joined and that has only continued. She is always surprising us at home with things she has learned at school - whether it's 'practical life' skills, such as tidying up after herself, or more academic skills, such as knowing her numbers and letters. The Montessori activities are particularly engaging and they really stretch the minds of the children. The Montessori philosophy has taught my daughter valuable life skills and the school has provided a nurturing environment where she loves to learn and interact with the other children and teachers. My daughter is very happy and stimulated at MSOW and she loves going to school each day. We feel we couldn't ask for more from a preschool!

Ermal Celi: This is a wonderful school! The teachers are very dedicated and committed to help the kids learn. They also work extremely hard to meet the needs of children and parents. Get rid of any doubts you may have for your kid's school next semester and sign them up to this one. This school will help your kid achieve anything they can.

Russet Diam: Great school for beginners. Everyone is so warm and welcoming! Kids are always happy and enjoy being there. Good job to the team. Highly recommend. RG

Ruby Roy: Great school and wonderful teachers! I highly recommend the school and the Montessori method!

kassahun workneh: Hi I love the school, my son likes it to and he has been there since he was a little baby. This is his ninth year at the school and currently in fourth grade and about to go to fifth grade. He has made lots and lots of friends and every year he makes a new friend. They have classes of Spanish and English. I in Spanish they learn reading and writing and science. I in English they learn math and writing and reading.

LaShae Ferguson: My daughter's experience has been amazing with CAPCS-Amos 2. Since the first day, she has been excited about going to school, learning and making new friends. Already, she's counting in Spanish, beginning to read and everyday, she is surprising me with the new things she's learning. I approve of the Reggio-inspired program at CAPCS-Amos 2 and even though I did not really understand the fundamentals initially, it works! The teachers, staff and extraordinary program have exceeded my expectations. In addition, the school always keeps the parents informed through phone calls, text messages and a large digital board near the entrance of the school. I plan to enroll my youngest child there next year. LaShae Ogunfiditimi

Peaceful Play Center: what do users think?

Cleopatra McGovern: Peaceful Play Center is an amazing bilingual/Spanish immersion daycare. They have a thoughtful curriculum involving group and individual learning and play and take the children outdoors every day, weather permitting. They provide home-cooked and healthy breakfast, lunch and snack. The staff is very open and communicative and does an excellent job keeping parents up to date about changes at the center and about their individual children. The staff are always friendly and loving with the children and the hours of operation are excellent. I feel very lucky to have found this daycare and our daughter could not be happier when she arrives every morning.

Lauren Dreyer: Enrolled our kids in August 2021. Brand-new facility. The owners and teachers are fantastic. It's a Spanish immersion program. Food is provided. Great hours. Love to see my toddler singing in Spanish after just a few months. She is excited to go to daycare every day! Our infant is also enrolled and they have a separate room for the babies. Really really happy with this place.

Erik Dreyer: Lovely Spanish immersion daycare. The staff and leadership put a lot of time and care into crafting a space for kids to flourish.

La Petite Academy of Washington: what do users think?

Muhammad Bilal Bawany: This daycare is a god send. We just enrolled our 2.5 year old daughter and regret not sending her earlier. The school sends lots of updates throughout the day on potty training, food and activities as well as photos. La Petite also offers classroom cameras for your child’s room, which - for nervous parents like us - helped us feel at ease since we could check in and see that she was having fun and participating in learning activities through the day. The teachers are great, the school is organized, super easy system, and has huge playgrounds which is a rarity in DC. Fully recommend, it’s a great place to send your kid.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write us and for sharing your amazing feedback Muhammad.

Wendy Wang Pisa: Watching some of the streaming video from daycare over the two days we sent our 2.5 yo daughter there, we were very concerned to see conduct that was inconsistent with both OSSE health and safety guidelines and the center’s own stated policies, including a lax approach to masking and mixing of classes (at one point we saw nearly twenty children in a small space with roughly half not wearing a mask). We were also disappointed with the teachers' level of engagement with the children. As a new child in the class, our daughter was frequently left alone, receiving very little adult supervision or facilitation of play/ engagement with other children. Major red flags: * No masking almost every time we looked at the video streaming * Mixing of classes, amounting to nearly 20 children in a small space with most children unmasked * Nap time not set up to be sleep inducing, lights are kept on while other kids are running around or watching iPad or playing * Lack of teacher engagement and social facilitation * All free play time in the afternoon with no guided developmental activities * Kids watching iPad in a group, quite frankly we could do this at home * Management not responsive to our concerns in a prompt manner, showed no empathy
Response: Thank you for your feedback Wendy. We expect our team to be attentive and caring at all times, and we’re sorry to hear this has not been your experience. Your feedback is important to us and we have shared this experience with our local management team.

Bethany Rosera: Love the infant teachers, they are great with my daughter! Lots of updates for parents and very clean, best place! Updating now that it’s been 2 years, we are still there and my daughter has been through almost every classroom they offer. Great with COVID protocols, always responsive. Recently got a new playground and renovations. The staff has ALWAYS been great with my very anxious daughter, challenging her and supporting her along the way. She’s now 3 and starting to sound out words! Like any school there’s sometimes issues that come up, but if you communicate with the school everyone is responsive.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words Bethany. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to help your children learn, grow, and explore the world around them!

Enrique Escalante: This place is a mess - do not consider sending your child here. About 4 years ago my wife was expecting so we set up a tour here. When we got to the center for our previously designated time, the director (who was supposed to give us the tour) had already left for the day and nobody had any record of our scheduled tour. Needless to say - we left and did not return. Fast forward to now - and my wife is expecting again. I had heard from a colleague that the place was better than our first experience...so we figured we'd give it another shot. I signed up for a virtual tour (that's all they're offering) about an hour before the previously designated time, they just sent me a new calendar invite for a different date/time. Nobody contacted me to apologize for the last minute cancel and to offer an explanation - or even to find out if the newly proposed time worked. Nothing. Complete lack of professionalism - avoid at all costs! Edit: Please see the response from the owner below. This is pure theater. I tried calling the number below on the day my appointment got cancelled and nobody answered. If they truly wanted to discuss this and wanted to make amends, they could call me directly rather than posting a trite statement just to save face on a public forum.
Response: Thank you for bringing this to our attention Enrique. We understand the importance of first impressions, and we're disappointed to hear that we made a poor first impression on you. We expect our team to be warm, welcoming, and professional in all interactions with families at all times. We are sorry to hear that you did not see this exhibited in your interactions with us. Please feel free to give us a call at 800-527-3848.

Conor O'Brien: Great school/daycare. They participate in the Childcare Aware Program that subsidizes Active Duty military childcare if care is unavailable on base, which was a huge help given the cost of care in the area. Professional, loving teachers and a safe environment. We will likely send our next child here too.
Response: Thank you Conor! We are so glad to hear about your great experience!

Melissa Marks: My son attended La Petite from the time he was 3 months until he was 3.5 yrs old. We had a wonderful experience. Any concerns we had were addressed quickly and thoroughly. The teachers all knew him by name (even the teachers from other classes) and it felt like a family atmosphere. I cried on his last day!! When he started PK3 this year he was fully prepared and on track with the rest of the children in language, math and social skills. We will be sending our second child there in the fall.

J S (Anonymous): RUN!!!! Do not bring your children here, this place is very unprofessional down to the teachers. They are overpriced and you’re not seeing exactly what the money is being put into. they provide breakfast, lunch, and 1 pm snack and also diapers, wipes, and sippy cups. But that still doesn’t scream 500+/week. The teachers are always on they’re phones and not paying any attention to the students. The management team don’t care about anyone but themselves. You bring something to their attention and they just sweep it under the rug. The classrooms are always left out of ratio, when you see the teachers they’re always looking overwhelmed or stressed and most days it’s only 9am smh. Something has to give with this place. This has been going on since my daughter (who is now 3) has been attending. I tried with my other daughter but it wasn’t a great turnout. My daughter was in the toddler department. The teachers who she was with can barely speak English so myself, my daughter, and the teachers had a hard time understanding each other. I just really wish the best for this location!
Response: We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you have not been having a positive experience at your location. We are committed to providing a positive and safe environment. The concerns that you have mentioned involving staffing and ratios are ones that we take very seriously, and will be noted for further action.

Kassie Lord: We love La Petite. My daughter started when she was 4 months and is now 19 months. We’re moving out of the area unfortunately and will miss having her here. There have been many improvements over the last 2 years including a renovation and new playground. Staff are positive and responsive. Thank you!!
Response: Thank you for the great review Kassie! We’re so happy to hear you are loving your school!

Radha Rajkotia: We love La Petite. Our daughter has been there since she was eighteen months and has always loved it. The teachers are all so caring and committed to the children's emotional wellbeing, as well as development. The amenities are great and the easy access to lots of playgrounds and outdoor space is unusual for DC daycare facilities. It really is a great place. I highly recommend it.

E. G.: La Petite in DC is an excellent day care. Our son bonded with many of his teachers and was very well cared for. I always had great confidence that our son was in the best hands and was learning and growing a great deal while in La Petite's care. The Academy is very well run, pleasant and clean. The Director is a very caring and competent woman and we came to feel like La Petite was family. From experience, I can tell you that La Petite in DC is one of the very best. Very professional and personable place.

Washington Waldorf School: what do users think?

Bonnie Auslander: A fantastic community of teachers who are dedicated to their students. My two kids have been there for six years and love it. Lots more info about our school on DC Urban Moms. Come take a tour or attend the bazaar in November to get a sense of what Waldorf/ Steiner education is all about.

Daniel Foster: We have two children at this school, and they are both extremely happy there, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The teachers are extremely dedicated, and the quality of the students' work is extraordinary. The curriculum is very rich, and the approach to teaching encourages a love of learning which is really the most important thing a school can provide.

Jennie Rabinowitz: Incredible place for children to learn at a developmentally appropriate pace without being beholden to nonstop testing. Teachers here have deep relationships with and insights into their individual students. So happy to have found this wonderful school and community!

Eric Holdsworth: We have had our daughter at this school since pre-school and she loves it. This school and its method of teaching are a magic elixir for what ails most public school teaching. Come to Waldorf and find a better way to learn.

Don Gabriel: I have no children, but I’ve always been impressed by the lectures that I attended. Everyone seems to be remarkably dedicated to their Waldorf adventure.

Andrei Farago: My friends and I were treated very badly by a teacher named miss spotolnick but everyone else was nice.

Thiago Roberto: Excellent

Diego Chojkier: *This is only a review of the school's field* For a long time, there has been a dearth of good fields in DC. I used to commute to Pentagon City to play soccer or football on something other than dirt-and-pot-hole field. This field is gorgeous and well-maintained astro-turf. Lots of bleacher seating and full-sized soccer goals. Plenty of bars to get a post-game beer... celebratory or consolatory...

Lyuba Rubio: Great school and improving every year - thanks to the current principal Ms Lundgren. So nice to have a decent alternative to dual language charter schools that are often impossible to get into in the neighborhood!

Jide Amosu: Neat park. Suitable for 7 v 7 soccer pick ups.

Jeana Richardson: I went there when I was small and graduated from there. I grew up around there my older children went there.

Maria Pizarro: (Translated by Google) Because my children studied there for two and a half years ... and they miss their school a lot (Original) Porque mis hijos estudiaron allí por dos años y medio....y extrañan mucho su escuelita

Washington International School: what do users think?

mat tan: This school is not good. I have been a student at WIS from kindergarten up to now in high school. The academics here are ok. No interesting courses and the courses do not teach you useful skills except for digital design with Mark Perkins which is very useful and you learn a lot. There is no real entrepreneurship or programming course. In terms of students its horrible. From what I have seen, the students are not interesting, don't do anything, and are horrible influences. The students are bored and the few that do anything extra other than school don't actually do cool things. All the students are also bullies who never change, this happens in every grade. Also, the students are horrible influences, so many high school students do drugs (weed, cigarettes, LSD) and they drink alcohol. I don't think this is very rare but still here and very present. If you send your child to this school be prepared to see your child likely to develop into a bully, not feel good, and perhaps even do drugs or drink alcohol. One pro is their campus which is very good and their teachers are good. Also, its a good brand for college and university.

graysmiles: I used to go to this school and it was a great experience the lunch is great the kids are so kind and the teachers and staff are really really caring. There is no such thing as detention and they have all these special events in the school year. The sports day is amazing and the P.E program is very good. Now in Paris I am doing everything I can so that I am up to level in my Spanish and can get back into the school when I come back to DC.

David Zamula: WIS has the best Art program in the world, Annette and Nancy have transformed art education at WIS. The graduates of the program have gone on to pursue fine art, graphics and design ventures.

Andre Gardiner: Best. School. Ever

German International School Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Hans Loes: Our son came into K and was well able to read and write, and was looking forward to starting school. Within a year, and mainly through teacher behavior, they destroyed his motivation entirely, and caused learning disorders and behavior issues in the poor child. As a 'remedy', they put tremendous pressure on us as parents to drug the kid. The English language classes were particularly poor, and we had to tutor privately. As a result, we removed both children and enrolled them in an (excellent) public school, where he scored solid 2's in Q1. The damage was done. The teachers worked together with us to constantly address any issues, something we have always looked for at German School but could never managed to achieve. Here, it was built into the curriculum. Within the year, our son improved to 3's and is now bringing home straight 4's. After a year's worth of repair and nerves, our kids are finally back on pre-German school levels. The more people we talk to, the more we find with a similar experience. We are very disappointed how unaccommodating the school was towards any child or situation out of the ordinary. Compared to the public school we on now, we cannot understand to this day how all these fees were justified.

Jan Eichstaedt: Best school ever!

tan tai Nguyen: very good

Robro: Fantastic 👍

Columbia Heights Educational Campus: what do users think?

Gen. Minion: Horrible school. Halls and classrooms are run down and have chipped paint/walls. Bathrooms are disgusting. Staff care little for student's well being or mental state. Do NOTHING about bullying or lack of education in the classrooms. Force ideology on it's students, trying to push a false image of success and demand/force seniors to enroll into a college then have them preach to the juniors of their choices and what paths they plan on taking, otherwise disciplinary action will be taken for "Disrupting Educational Progress". Require students to take 100 hours of Community Service and at least 50 hours of Internship, as well as pay for prom come senior year, whether they go or not with threat of not being allowed to graduate. Metal detectors at the main entrance with body scanners and back check, during the process many students have their cell phones and other electronic devices, unless registered as a educational device, get confiscated, often stolen from the students by staff or from student's bags, the ones that get snuck through the bag check. This school is a correctional facility trying to pass itself off as a "Prime School of Education to the Highest Degree". Do yourself or your children a favor and avoid this school at all costs. You will regret it.

Eshaunti Davis: This school is very unsanitary never have tissue in the bathroom or soap for a period of time. The women restroom also has a lack of female personal products. The 9th and 10th graders are forced to do PLT which is Personal Learning Time, which make the students spend up to a full school day 5 day out of a week. Which means the student spend up to 31 hours and 50 mins a week on the computer and for the most part you grade is based off of PLT which is the focus areas, additional focus areas, projects/"GRASP" with the exception on mid terms and final exams. Also the security open closed bottles that have never been opened and also invades the privacy of students.

Amber Fergusson: I HATED this school when I went there. I went to the ORIGINAL Bell in 2003-2004. If your not hispanic you don't matter there. HATED HATED HATED this school!

Acxel Feliz: Some of the students are amazing SOME but the teachers do too much

Johnson's Florist and Garden Centers: what do users think?

Jesse Cowan: Terrific customer service today! I was greeted right away by a friendly staffer who showed me just the plant I was looking for and helped me pick one from 3 healthy specimens. Then another friendly staffer potted it for me, and when she understood it was to be a gift, wrapped it with pretty tissue paper. So grateful, and looking forward to coming back soon.

Evan Morier: Johnson's has some great houseplants, some of which are very reasonably priced. There are nice pots as well. Great place to go during the holidays for ornaments (and afterwards for sales). Cut flowers are nice but pricey. I've always had great service here as well.

Dan S: Nice people working there, hence my not giving 1 star. We’ve had multiple issues of purchasing products from them that are infested with various pests. We bought a palm plant from them, to then find out it was infested with spider mites (to this day we haven’t been able to get rid of them, and have isolated our palm plant). We also bought compost from them on a separate occasion, to then find out (the hard way) that it was infested with fungus gnats. Our veggies withered because these gnats ate all the roots. I don’t recommend purchasing any plant products from this store, as they seem to have pest problems.

Bailey Price: Beautiful garden center that had everything I could have needed! Thanks so much to Eileen for working with me for about a half hour to pick all of the right plants and materials for what I was looking for! They turned out so nicely!

Ofelia Gaitan: hands down the best flowers in the area. I have been going to Johnson's for over two years and they always have top quality flowers. Their arrangements are always beautiful. I have experienced a few issues upon delivery of arrangements but they are quick to make correct their errors and thus why they deserve 5 stars. With all florist I think going to the the stores is the best route to go when placing an order as issues may arise upon delivery.

Madeline Klein: WOW! A MUST GO TO PLACE! There are two locations FYI; Johnsons Kensington is hands down amazing! I will definitely make a travel to this location! I am not the best at all with house plants; this young lady (apologize I completely forgot her name) she was about 25-maybe 30 short brown hair. Her knowledge was beyond anything I have ever experienced! This specific young lady was so warm and welcoming since I walked in (before I have noticed other employees on phones or other things "more important") this woman was so attentive from the beginning! re-potted a plant I thought would make it I'm still trying to keep the plant going but I learned so much and it may be in a much much smaller pot but it is BEAUTIFUL decorated! I purchased another house plant as well the customer service was so great. The young woman gave me many suggestions to what I would like and showed me photos of her own personal one and I was taken back as to how polite, patient, kind and not pushy to sell a plant that was not the best fit for me. I HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE! The Owner Mr. Tom Johnson was there and for me personally it shows the dedication he has for his staff and the great business. Kensington Johnsons is THE PLACE TO GO!

Andrea: This place is a plant haven. I would recommend going here over any other shop. The products are high quality, staff is friendly and there is a large selection. I got two small house plants and the staff had such good recommendations for my situation.

J. D. Rosenzweig: Great local flower and plant store. Much better going here than a big box store. Excellent plants inside for gifts. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

M B: Good selection of plants and supplies. However, the cashiers, particularly the younger cashiers, aren’t very friendly. I felt as though I were imposing on their precious time by having the audacity of being a customer. No smile or friendly “Hello” or “How may I help you” for a greeting. Instead, I received an irritated “Can I help you?” from not one but both cashiers. It wasn’t packed, so I really didn’t understand the seemingly irritated or exasperated attitude. If said cashiers don’t want to help anyone, there’s a solution—QUIT! And don’t hold a position where one has to interface with the public! Needless to say, I won’t be back. I’ll do my shopping via Amazon. At least that way, I’ll be able to save time, money, and not have to deal with abysmal customer service!

Chanpen Tee: There are a lot of plants foe indoors and outdoors. Staff is friendly.

Meadows Farms Nurseries and Landscape: what do users think?

Mark Eberhart: UPDATE: 26 DEC 2020 Just received a check from Meadow Farms reimbursing us for our Christmas tree this year. I’m leaving the pics for people to see why we were reimbursed. These were taken 2-3 days after bringing tree home and ensuring it was properly watered. Thank you to Meadow Farms for taking responsibility, it demonstrates a focus on customer service many companies are losing in the rush to increase shareholder value.
Response: Thank you, Mark!

Bob Petrine: Very nice selection of plantsBe aware that all prices are much higher than last years.Lots of annuals today; shop soon
Response: Thank you for your review, Bob. Unfortunately, everything is going up in price compared to last year. Hopefully, it's a trend that doesn't continue.

Peter DeThier: Absolutely and inexcusably HORRENDOUS work and completely incapable customer service, I would not recommend this company to anyone. Awarding a single star is on the generous side. Since "a picture paints a thousand words", the photos below should say everything: We had 5 Skip Laurels planted in our backyard, the "professional Planting / installation" alone, which took less than 40 minutes (no mask or attempt at social distancing, this in the midst of the third wave....) and was done in manner opposite of anything resembling professionalism, cost around $500. Two of the trees were planted crooked. After raising this with Meadows Farms, they sent out a different person, who "adjusted" one of the trees to be at even more of a slant than before. Before being dispatch another crew to re-plant or at least straighten, Meadows Farms performed a fertilizer treatment during which the individual distributing the fertilizer before our very eyes literallly plowed through the trees, in the process pushing the most crooked one over even further. A subsequent appointment to correct this was made, though without any explanation no one even showed up at the agreed upon time. Emails are being ignored, as are phone calls. Legal action may be the only recourse at this point. Outraged and disgusted at the inexcusably poor quality of their work, customer service and willingness to stand by their product and services.

Adhavan Jeyachandran: Went during covid crisis and felt good that they practice social distancing. Very good selection of plants. Now our apartment garden shines with red yellow and lavender flowers.
Response: Thank you for your review and for the kind words, Adhavan. It has been a challenging spring, to be sure, but it's good to know that we were able to provide some color for your garden. Thank you for being a Meadows Farms person!

Jesse M: Great selection of trees this year. Really friendly staff and couldn't be easier to find. Looking for a tree look no further. I have no experience with anything else they have here so I can't speak to that.
Response: Thank you, Jesse! We'll need to get you back in to see us in the spring to get the full Meadows Farms experience! :-)

Michael Manson: Came here for Christmas tree and poinsettias. Great selection and quality! Customer service was above and beyond what I expected! 3 employees helped us load up because it was slow at the time. The Cashier was supercool and nice with our niece. They were like best buddies. Thanks again Meadow’s!!
Response: Thank you, Michael!

J Skinner: What an excellent selection of Christmas trees! Smells like heaven here right now. Everybody we ran across was super helpful and kind. This is our second year to buy here, and it will definitely be our top choice going forward!
Response: Thank you for your review!

David Santos: I went to this place two days ago, the place is very beautiful and they have a variety of flowers. I wanted to buy many flowers for my balcony, when I arrived at the establishment I could see how 4 young people were talking and sitting. They offered no help at all! Hey guys work more on your customer service because it is terrible.
Response: David – Thank you for your review. I am very sorry that you experienced such terrible customer service. I assure you we do understand the importance of customer engagement and work very hard at it. Unfortunately, it sounds like we missed the mark during your visit. I appreciate your observation that we had a great selection of beautiful flowers. I hope you will give us another try to earn a better review. Sincerely, Jay Meadows, Owner.

sam osta: Amazing selection way better price and quality then home depot, lowes.

D Hunt: There are major differences between the Meadows Farm locations, including this one and the one a mile down Rt. 7. This one has more shade loving plants and hydrangeas. It selection of shrubs and trees is always different, with more large, standard specimen plants since it has a lot of space. It usually has more houseplants. I need to go to both locations to find what I need. There are two other problems: delivery is very slow, and installtion even slower, and their prices are high. Notthe top of the market, but just below. BTW: THeir landscape design sevice is good, but quoted prices are really high.
Response: Thank you for your review. Our apologies for the delivery and installation delays. We've gotten so many requests for both and with labor shortages, it can be a challenge to get things out as quickly as we would like. We're hoping to get things back to normal soon.
