Quinn's Auction Galleries: what do users think?

Matthew: Rude does not begin to describe the staff! I have been purchasing from this auction house for 6 months. Every time there is an interaction with staff they are extremely rude. They receive 25% buyers premium and a seller premium-plus they don’t allow in-person inspection-their photos and descriptions are misleading-and they still have the audacity to be rude. My schedule pick up time today was 2pm. I arrived at 1:51pm-no one else is here-no other person picking up-staff is just standing around-so I knocked and said I was here but a few min early. I was met with an attitude saying “then you already know you’re early. See you in 10 min) and the door shut in my face. Every employee acts this way. I think they forget-without us buying they wouldn’t have a job-they wouldn’t have an auction house-try being Polite to people-kindness goes a long way. I have spent thousands in the last 6 months-and this will be the last dollar I spend with this auction house. Extremely rude staff-I certainly don’t need them as much as they need bidders/buyers. There are many places to buy items. Please read all reviews and understand why this shady auction house with rude staff has barely above a 3-star rating.
Response: I am terribly sorry you had this experience! We have indeed been very short-staffed and everyone is stretched thin. As the first time slot of the pick up appointments, the staff was still collecting the purchases and probably felt that pressure, however, our goal is always to provide a positive experience with our Associates. Please feel free to contact me at Info@quinnsauction.com if you feel there is more you would like for us to be aware of in your recent interactions with Quinn's. Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns and we hope you will give us another try. David Quinn

Firefly Farms: The man that I spoke to at Quinn's (allegedly a "manager") regarding a question about my purchase was so incredibly rude and sarcastic, that I said it was likely the last time that I would bid with them. His sarcastic response? Along the lines of "I couldn't care less; you go ahead and knock yourself out." With all of the good people that you could hire, and that would provide a modicum of decency and customer service, why would you tolerate such hateful behavior from an employee??? Apparently, Quinn doesn't care. Look at the BBB complaints and the comments online. There are many other auction houses out there that do actually care about their service - save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere.
Response: I am so sorry to hear of your experience! Our team is stretched thin some days due to staffing challenges but I would like to hear more about this as our current staff of managers are all females. If you could email me at info@quinnsauction.com so I can follow up with you directly I would be grateful. Thank you - Matthew Quinn

Kian kashani: Very sad experience with this Auction house. If they cared half as much about their customers as they do about marketing... I purchased two mirrors from Quinn's months ago based on a false description they had provided stating that the mirrors were wooden. They were however entirely composed of plaster wrapped around wire. The false description resulted in the shippers assuming the mirrors were also wooden...and so the packaging choice was not suitable to plaster. The photos were also shopped to give the impression the mirrors were gilded with a nice finishing - they were in fact painted a bright golden color. I received the broken plaster you see in the photos. So then I simply called them and asked them to hopefully get back to me with some kind of solution or explanation. That did not happen. I then emailed them and the owner, a Mr. David Quinn, responded requesting photos. The photos were sent months ago and they have not responded to any calls or emails since. You would figure they would have the common courtesy to at least respond stating they will not be doing anything...but common courtesy is something these people do not possess. They have wiped their hands clean of the situation as they have been paid. I would be very skeptical purchasing anything from this auction house without a detailed and thorough evaluation of what you are buying. If they can abuse their position, they will.

Michael Gaffney: (Updated) - I've been trying to consign here for years, but the team just doesn't get back to customers in a reliable way. Emails go unanswered, messages not returned. Every once in a while I get a callback when at work but then cannot call back to get ahold of the person. Had some good auctions years ago, but have moved on to more reliable companies. Thanks for all the help before I was shunned. Some very nice people on the team there but as I said below... Old- "Didn't work for me"
Response: We are so sorry to hear this! Can you please share more details with us - info@quinnsauction.com or 703-532-5632, ext 500 - we would like to hear from you!

Ellen Meiselman: I was pleased with the service and outcome of the auction. I had somewhat different requirements than others may have: I needed a large house cleared quickly and wanted to keep the costs down for doing so. Quinn explained the rationale for their processes, did everything they said they would, kept me informed of costs I was incurring, and gave me clear answers to my questions. They were also flexible when I made last minute changes. In the end my charges were minimal. Very happy.
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review! Our team enjoyed working with you!

LC S: I have used Quinns several times and found some very unique pieces at amazing prices! This is a treasure trove and many items are antique, sure they may be dusty or even musty but for the price it’s a steal! Also, for those of us that still appreciate the feel of turning pages and reading an actual book; they have book auctions periodically where you will find some very interesting and rare, hard to find books! Their staff works hard to make sure items are out and ready for pick up. They are always very courteous and helpful ( although they understandably cannot help load items so bring help if needed ). This is a great place to find beautiful and unique items and get a crazy deal! Thanks guys!
Response: Thank you so much for your 5 Star Review! We are grateful for your patronage!

Jon Drake: I purchased a piece of furniture from them. It arrived dusty and filthy. Once the piece was cleaned- it reeked of CIGARETTE SMOKE. I sent them a polite email letting them know. I thought maybe they would apologize or remove a trivial fee. I got a condescending email from a lady there. She said "we are sorry you are disappointed". The issue wasn't my disappoint but rather it was that I spent $200 on furniture that smelt like an ashtray. But she did give me some instructions to put baking soda on it to take it away. Is this a joke?! Avoid at all costs. Stay away. Nothing but scammers. Update: they claim they describe their cigarette smoke smelling furniture as such (below comment). Here is a copy of the description of what I bought copied and pasted from the invoice and auction listing- "Has Moderate Wear Especially To Top Surface. See Photos." As you can see there is no mention that the furniture smells of cigarette smoke! Once again, Quinn''s Auction Galleries prove themselves to be nothing but liars. Absurd... Update: I filled a dispute with my bank, they agreed with me and reversed the charges, as I understand it Quinn's credit card processor agreed as well; this was part of the process.
Response: We are very sorry you had this experience. We do describe condition. If each item that we sell including terms like smoker friendly home, or other related and relevant information. I’m sorry that you didn’t see that when bidding. We do our best to balance the seller and the buyers best interest. We hope you will give it another try.

Nia Paulson: I go to Quinns Auction Galleries fairly often and it is such a joy to see Robert there. He is always ready with our auction items and is very helpful in helping us load some of our items into our car (although sometimes it's a miracle we can even fit everything inside). Quinns auction never ceases to amaze me on the variety of items available, the helpful staff and fantastic communication with the buyers. I would also love to commend the other staff who work on photographing and writing descriptions of the items as they are always spot on! Overall a great place to get some fantastic pieces of furniture and other treasures!
Response: Thank you so much for your 5 Star Review! We love our team and glad you do too!

Brandon Blair: I recently used Quinns Auction to liquidate the estate of my recently deceased uncle. My experience was great! From the initial meeting with the owner, the customer service department, and the team that inventoried and listed the items, they were true professionals. They set great expectations, and delivered on them. Best of all, they communicated! When I had questions, they were quick to answer them, and follow up with whatever they promised. It was great working with them, and I highly recommend them for others in my situation!
Response: Thank you so much for the 5-star review! Our team really enjoyed working with you!

Michael Barnickel: Most awful experience with this auction house. Payment wasn't possible for a few days, very high shipping costs, absolutely careless packing job, throw my won items without appropriate packaging into the parcel.
Response: I am so sorry you had a negative experience. We have experienced a dramatic increase in shipping expenses. I do not know if you shipped directly with Quinns or if you used one of our shipping partners. Please feel free to share more of your experience with us at Info@QuinnsAuction.com so we can share the specifics with our staff. Many thanks for your time.

Potomack Company Auctions: what do users think?

Kenneth Leonard: Potomack Company is a great company. Everyone is very friendly and provides exceptional customer service. I mainly dealt with Jennifer. She was very knowledgeable about the process, and she was able to answer all of my questions. I submitted a couple painting for review. To my surprise, I had a painting that was worth submitting in the auction. The Potomack Company was able to sell my painting for top dollar. They were very professional, and it was a pleasure working with them. If you are looking for a very reputable auction company, then look no further. Potomack Company will get the job done. I look forward to working with them again in the near future.

Cliff Rodin: Had a dear friend who is an Antique Dealer introduce me to Potomack Auctions. I recently bid on a beautiful grand antique mirror and won the bid. All the Staff at Potomack, from the Owner Jane to her Administrative Staff are warm, professional and very customer service oriented. From the registration process to the process of picking up my winning bid, all processes were done with efficiency, concern and great customer service. My beautiful, very large mirror which is very fragile was bubble wrapped and carefully taped entirely from top to bottom. The Inventory Handlers even loaded the wrapped mirror into a friends' truck. These men were also well trained, professional and concerned. I certainly recommend Potomack Auction House with great enthusiasm.
Response: Thank you so much for your review. We are so glad that you had a wonderful experience and look forward to serving you in the future.

Kenneth Leonard: I 1st learned about this company while searching Google. They had great reviews so I figured I should reach out to them. In December 2020, I sent them an email with some artwork that I had came across. I wanted to know if the artwork was worth some value. I received an email stating that my email was received and that someone should be contacting me within a week. Two months went by and I heard nothing.. I reached out in February 2021 and spoke to Jennifer. She was very apologetic and informed me that she would expedite my file and put it in front of the right person. She told me that she would call me within a day or so . I never heard back from Jennifer. Two weeks went by and I called again and spoke with Molly. I told her my situation and she understood my frustration and assured me that she would have dle my file personally. As you may have guessed, months went by. No phone call or email. I tried to be very understanding due to the fact that they are operating during the pandemic. I called yesterday and spoke with Molly again. Her excuse was that they were very busy with the upcoming auction and that she will be sure that someone calls me back. I would have been understanding if I haven't been dealing with this for the pass 9 months. I don't know what to think honestly.

Donna: I asked Potomack to consider my family's Asian antiques and pieces; based on my experience with Potomack, I highly and without hesitation recommend Potomack. I am from Manhattan, a place with numerous antique dealers and appraisers, and auction houses; as compared to Manhattan auction houses and appraisers, as well as many across the nation, Potomack and its owner, Elizabeth, are unmatched in terms of professionalism, efficiency, knowledge and courtesy. Special kudos go to them for their access to world-class expert in Asian antiques, Pamela Cole. I recommend without hesitation Potomack.
Response: Thank you so much. It was a pleasure working with you. We appreciate your business!

Arthur Richmond: over 50 years dealing with antiques Potomack is by far the finest, most reputable, professional auction house I have experienced! They treat everyone with respect, honesty and enthusiasm. Ownership and staff go the extra mile!

Vivien Sted: I have nothing but praise for Tom Coward. He is the epitome example of great customer service. He went far beyond expectation to help my pick up driver with a delicate mirror. He deserves more than five stars in my book. Thank you, Tom. Your company is very lucky to have you.

Jonathan Willen: Potomack Company Auctions & Appraisals offers a wide variety of auctions for every type of collector. Elizabeth and her staff bring their 'A' game to the table with complete knowledge in all areas of the business.

Martin Brossman: They did an outstanding job with my late parent's estate items getting the best current value available. The whole team was great but especially want to thank Jane Gehrig who helped with selecting items that would be best for the auction, the estate sale at the house, and pointing me in the right direction for a donation of the remaining items. Though they said many people choose to not go the live auction, I went. Especially since I had gone to so many as a kid with my parents. It was one of the best run auctions I have ever seen. My late parents loved to go to auctions and collected some nice items. It was tough to part with so many of them since I could not keep them all. Knowing and seeing them going to good homes meant a great deal to me. Thanks again to the whole team including the loading guys and Jane!
Response: Thanks, Marty! It has been a pleasure working with you.

Payne Edington: I have had nothing but the best interactions with the professional staff at Potomack. I found their expertise unmatched in the market. As both a buyer and a seller I’ve had excellent experiences. They are an excellent guide to the market. Highly recommended.

Michael Benjamin: Great auction warehouse to display items. Well known and reputable auction company with fine pieces. Definitely go for previews and stop by for all sorts of antiques (China, furniture, art, jewelry, etc.).

Sloans & Kenyon: what do users think?

Wiesman Ronald: Registered with Invaluable to bid but Sloan and Kenyon never finalized registration that was done hours before sale. So locked out of online bidding. Isn't that what the 22% buyers premium is suppose to pay for? SERVICE.

Sterling Patterson: Our experience with Sloans and Kenyon could not have been more positive. Our son’s interaction with Stephanie Kenyon demonstrated her patience and professionalism. She helped all of us navigate relatively unfamiliar territory. Raab Christhilf has an encyclopedic knowledge of the furniture and artwork that we took to the auction. His passion for pieces from the past is contagious !! An auction house by its nature doesn’t control the sale price of an item.Public interest and demand dictates the outcome. Sloans and Kenyon were ideal advocates from start to finish. Thanks to all, The Pattersons

Chris Seline: Terrible to work with. We have friends that are using them for their father's estate, and they are having a lot of trouble with them. They were unable to sell a piano so our friends offered it to us for free. We had movers go pick up the piano, but Sloans gave them the wrong piano. Multiple calls into them went unreturned. They finally claimed they sold the piano and paid our friend for it. Even if that is true, which it isn't, they still gave the movers some random (worthless) piano without checking who owned it, and did not mention the sale even though we coordinated the pickup with them from both sides. And so far (1.5 weeks on) they haven't tried to get the incorrectly delivered piano back, the movers still have it. We would try to get our money back from Sloans but we think they are just going to charge our friends.

Jamie Askin: My family had a number of items up for auction in February. It took three months to get an inventory and payment on the items that sold. They only got $1000 for the sale of many items, deducted 25% of the total and then charged $600 for photographing the items for the catalog which had never been mentioned up until the check came. So out of $1000, my family received $300. I am going to try to reclaim what they didn’t sell, let’s see how that goes.

Felix Alexander Dickerson: I’ve had nothing but pleasurable experiences with Mrs. Kenyon, her consignment percentage is reasonable and I haven’t any issues in the past or present. Ms. Garrity has always been nice to me and is very helpful. I look forward to each and every auction. Thanks! Felix

Jennifer Beyerlein: Not happy with this company. First of all, I asked for a condition report on a group of pens that they had available for online bidding. Never heard back. I live halfway across the country, so going to see these items in person is pretty much out of the question, and must rely on their descriptions and condition reports to make an informed decision. In their item description, they mentioned a "Parker "Big Orange" clacking nib". To anyone, this would mean that it was a Parker fountain pen with what I would make out to be 'cracking' instead of 'clacking' nib. Spelling aside, I will get back to that pen in a moment. I win the auction (going off of their description only.. should be credible right?), and agree to pay all the crazy fees. I received an email from one of their associates letting me know I had won. I replied via email back to said associate them asking how to proceed, and never heard back. I got on their website looking for a general company email address that I could get a hold of them with. We live way out in the boonies, and our cell reception is terrible, so email is the best option for us. Upon finding their company email, I asked again how to proceed, and just general questions to their company about procedure. Again, heard nothing, and am not incredibly happy at this point. So I find their address and send a check to pay for everything. About a week later I had not heard if they received the check. So I had to make a small drive to get cell reception to call them since email obviously wasn't working. The person on the other end did not seem all that enthused to be helping me right from the get-go. I asked if they received my check in the mail. They said no, but would let me know once they received it. Checked our bank account the next day, and guess what, check was cashed the previous day. Again, no contact from them whatsoever. Seriously, this "big" of a company, and they can't communicate online?? Or at least get a hold of me somehow like they say they will? So I get a hold of a shipper, they go pick up my items, and ship them off which in itself is EXTREMELY pricey. I receive my items. Back to the pen... "The Parker "Big Orange" clacking nib" pen was actually a ballpoint, with NO refill, no 'clacking' nib.. no nothing. Just an empty shell of a ballpoint pen. They took one picture with all the caps on, so you could not see the condition of any of them. There was only one good nib in the entire lot, and the others were falling apart. Decided to take a chance on a seemingly reputable company, and got completely gypped. I should have known when they never emailed me back the first time with the condition report. Please do not bid online with this company. I would hate for someone to go through what I did. Terrible customer service, and not-as-described items. Seriously Sloans & Kenyon... NEVER again.

Erick Hodge: They are extraordinarily dishonest. I was a phone bidder and an item was misrepresented in the catalog and on the phone. They offered a 50% credit to future bidding which I told them was unacceptable. I have repeatedly requested to speak to Ms. Kenyon and she will not call me back. After arguing with the receptionist over the phone, she now hangs up on me when I call. I believe that I am a victim of criminal fraud.

James “Openboat” B: I recently won a Painting at The September Estate Auction. I had several questions, they were promptly answered . After the sale the service with Evangeline was excellent. I would use them again for sure. April 2019 another great transaction ! Thanks Again for the fine service.

stephen knight: Dishonest and unprofessional!! On 11 March 2018, I submitted a bid on lot 1137A within ONE SECOND of notification of a higher bid, and they rejected my higher bid even though they received it ONE SECOND after the lower bid!! I have the acknowledgment on record from Invaluable that they received the bid within ONE SECOND. Also on 11 March 2018, I submitted the highest bid on lot 1151A. After the auction, they refused to honor my win, and sold it instead to someone else, even though the Invaluable web site still indicates I submitted the winning bid!! Their "reach out" to me after the auction was: "So sorry, maybe you'll find something you like in a future auction....." These practices are dishonest and unprofessional, if not outright illegal. This is a pathetic and untrustworthy auction house.

Ultimate Home: We had very bad experience with them. Lots of fakes. Spent several tens of thousands of Dollars with them. They do phony biding with phony numbers which make you believe someone else is biding on the item to get your bid up. They do not tell you that. We saw a lot of sold items to finally figure out there were fake bids. Totally terrible experience.

Weschler's Auctioneers & Appraisers: what do users think?

Serena Chreky: I am so thrilled that I found Weschler's and wish that I could give ten stars instead of just five. The attention to detail and level of professionalism that is displayed is world class. I have consigned and purchased items and each transaction has been handled quickly and accurately. Weschler's website is extremely easy to navigate and questions are answered promptly. It is clear to see why Weschler's has been so successful since 1890 and it is because they put the customer first. Thank you to the entire Weschler team for taking such good care of us!
Response: Thank you Serena!

Edith Lauer: Recently I needed to empty an apartment and sell some of its contents. From the first time I made contact with Judy Acs at Weschler's I was impressed with the company's commitment to serve its customers. With their help I was able to have my items accepted, picked up and delivered, priced, and auctioned off within a short time. I highly recommend Weschler's for their excellent service!
Response: Thank you Edith, it was a pleasure working with you!

michele gordon: Exemplary first experience with Weschler's. Five star staff onsite, they answer your questions. Customer service is everything when I choose a business to deal with. All fees are listed ahead of time in their auction.
Response: Thank you, Michele!

Gene Fischer: I worked with Weschler's for several months as the executor of an estate. Weschler's consulted on antiques, rugs, jewerlry, etc. that all had to be sold. There were so many items that they were distributed over several different auctions. I had many questions during the process, and everyone was very helpul answering all my needs, both big and small. Allison, Bill and Mark were wonderful to work with and would highly recommend Weschler's to anyone!
Response: Thank you Gene! All the best. The Weschler Team

Darla Karn: I recently had my first experience consigning items with Weschler's Auctioneers & Appraisers. I was extremely pleased with the personal service I received, the expert advice I was given, and the favorable outcome of the auction. I'm looking forward to having future consignments with Weschler's.
Response: Thank you Darla, it was a pleasure working with you!

Michael Dandenault: I contacted Weschler's to get some information on the value of an old rocking chair that I recently acquired and I was promptly responded to by one of their managers, Judy Acs. Even though my old piece of wood wasn't really worth much, Judy replied to my every question with kindness and aplomb. In an age of continually declining customer service, this made my day. I highly recommend reaching out to Weshler's for all of your needs. I will be working with them again for sure. Thank you, Judy.
Response: Thank you Michael!

Kris Detwiler: I had a wonderful experience working with Weschler's, which helped me manage my mother's jewelry after she passed away. I live out of state, and Mark Weschler went to my mother's home, collected all of her jewelry and appraised it for estate purposes. He then facilitated the process of distributing the jewelry to the appropriate people, also providing insurance appraisals where requested. Everything was done in a timely, highly professional manner and at a very reasonable price. I couldn't be happier!
Response: It was a pleasure working with you!

Fabio Lepre: Thank you Judy for all of your help and expertise. After purchases a few pieces, she was able to tell me the history of each piece in great detail, assuring the value that I saw during the auction. It was great to connect with someone who loves antiques just as much as I do!
Response: Thank you very much for the kind remarks! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you!

Alma Abdul-Hadi Jadallah, Ph.D.: I was extremely disappointed with the service that I received. We had agreed over the phone that Mr. Tom Weshler would come to the house and provide a written report on the item that he was evaluating. I called him today and he said the payment he received for a $100 dollars was only for a verbal evaluation. Disappointed that a reputable business like this did not put in place a clear written process to clarify what was promised and what was expected at the end of the visit. I would not recommend their services in the future.

Megan Wharton: I've consigned with them several times over the years, and they've always been attentive, knowledgeable and have provided a great selling experience. I've worked directly with Judy for the most part, and she's very easy to work with. Thanks Weschler's!

Prime Auction Solutions: what do users think?

Susan B.: Buyers Beware I bid on two ottomans that I believed were in good condition. Nothing was noted on the auction website indicating stains or tears for this item. I did notice that other items in the auction did in fact list if there were stains, worn spots etc, so I felt confident that if there were any, they would be listed. The auction sight also had some good reviews. So I placed a bid and won. When I arrived to pick up the ottomans, I noticed one had multiple stains on the top, which I pointed out to the person in charge. It was very sunny and we were being rushed through our pick up time slot. Upset that the listing was misleading, but knowing that all sales were final, I allowed the men to load them into my car. I decided to purchase some dry cleaning stain cleaner for the fabric type in the hopes of salvaging the purchase. When I went to try it, I realized that not only are there a lot of stains on the one, but also that one large dark area I thought was a stain is actually holes that are crunchy and feel like burns, that appear to have been sewn with darker brown thread. This cannot be repaired so I didn’t even attempt to clean the stains. I would normally not buy anything with stains but felt backed into a corner since it the invoice stated all sales are final. BUT I would NEVER buy anything with tears/holes. In addition, if you look at the picture posted on the auction website, vs the pictures I’ve taken of the ottomans, not only is the top of the damaged one completely “washed out” with lighting in the photo so that you can’t see the stains and holes/tears, but you can also see the color of the ottomans are completely different from what I thought I was bidding on. While I know all sales are final, that usually implies that the buyer has all of the information necessary to make an informed purchase. When none of these defects were noted on the item description or shown in the pictures at bidding, but are clearly visible in person, it is in my opinion deceptive practices. I have attempted to reach out to the company through multiple email addresses as well as left voice messages on all of the phone contacts listed and have not heard back. I am still hoping they will contact me with a resolution. I generally post glowing reviews of companies so that others can find and use them. I rarely post negative reviews and only when absolutely warranted. All of the good reviews about this company appear to be from sellers. At the moment there seems to be zero recourse for buyers. After this, I personally won’t take a gamble on another estate auction anytime soon.

Jess Koko: Anne with Prime Auction Solutions is a delight! We purchased several items in an online auction featuring deco furniture and decor with Prime Auction Solutions. I was very impressed with the entire process - from bidding on their website to pickup and everything in between. Communication was excellent by all members of the Prime Auction team and I will happily purchase more quality items from them in the future.

michael berman: Prime Auction Solutions helped me sell my Dad's Antique collection online very efficiently and successfully. We had a tight deadline and had she moved quickly and confidently. Anne Nouri was professional, honest, knowledgeable and calm. We had a great turnout for the auction and good results. I reccommend her company to anyone that wants to get the highest value for their parent's antiques and collectibles.

Roxanne Kelly: One will never be disappointed purchasing fromPrime Solution Auctions. As a repeat customer , I can share that each experience has been positive.Anne and her team are extremely professional, organized , and customer service oriented through the pick up process.

Robert Yen: Natalie was supper helpful! After last week's auction, I was supposed to pick up items from DC downtown. But, she saw my email request for scheduling pick-up, and she told me that she could bring winning items to the Prime Auction's local office. This local office is only less than 5 miles from my home. It turned out to be a fairly easy and quick pickup. Love it! Good service, Natalie! Will definitely recommend Prime Auction Solutions to others!

Stuart Paine: Anne and her team at Prime Auction Solutions offered something no one else could: the flexibility to not have to move my family's treasured heirlooms to an auction house which would have resulted in upfront expenses and possibility of damage. Anne was one-hundred-percent responsive by email text and phone. She provided updates throughout the process and was very patient with my seemingly bottomless pit of questions and worries. I even joked that she should add "counselor" to her business card. Anne is locally, nationally and very much globally connected as evidenced by the auction results that far exceeded my expectations. She put in countless hours reaching out to Global customers and fielding inquiries. As I said, I benefited from her expertise. After the auction was closed, Anne and her team were on site to manage auction item pickup and/or delivery. I truly believe that Prime Auction Solutions represents the future of auctions as they offer a technology and customer service driven solution to the traditional auction house

Myra M: Prime Auction Solutions made the process of on-line bidding very easy and comfortable. Their website explained everything up front, there were no hidden fees or charges, and their staff was readily available to answer questions and offer advice. My first time experience as a Prime Auctions Solutions will certainly not be my last!

kathy h: As a consumer of their sales x3, I am very pleased with their professionalism, response time, quality of their sales and merchandise. Anne and her team are impeccable in making sure they run a fair sale and pick-ups have been really great! Much better than some of the free-for-all estate sales and auctions that I have participated in the last 10 years. Well done newcomers! I think you will be making your mark in this market! Looking forward to the next time!

Beth B: It was a pleasure to work with this incredible team. They went out of their way to make sure every detail was taken care of before, during and after the our auction. Prime Auction Solutions came highly recommended by a member of our Church and I am thankful to have taken their advice. The best part of the event was that they exceeded the amount we thought we would net through the auction. I would recommend Prime to anyone considering to sell at auction. It was a hard decision, but in hind sight the absolute best decision we could have made. We should have made the decision sooner.
Response: Thank you for you trust, feedback and referrals. Wishing you the best in your new home.

Megan Mahn Miller: Anne is a brilliant marketer and customer service provider. She is an inspiration with her videos, knowledge of the industry, and sincere interest in her clients. I would trust Anne and the Prime Auction Solutions team with any real estate opportunity.
Response: Thank you Megan for the kind words. We love listening to clients and helping them reach achieve their buying and selling real estate goal.

Luban Auction Gallery & Appraisal& Consignment Art, Antiques& Furniture: what do users think?

Edward Radzwich: I have been a satisfied customer of China Luban for over 15 years. The decor of my house has a heavy Asian influence and much of my furniture and art work has come from China Luban. Amy has always been helpful and professional in her approach to dealing with me and I can say that I always look forward seeing her and her VAST inventory of antiques which is no doubt the best in the area. I highly recommend visiting and exploring her treasure trove of antiques.

MK Bates: Amy was extremely kind and helpful in helping me sell my china. She took excellent care of it in the store. It was always on display and sparkling clean. She offered warm tea in the winter and cool water in the summer - very gracious and warm. I enjoyed doing business with her and recommend her highly.

Kenan Wang: This is a legit shop for real chinese antiques. The staffs are very friendly and honest too. It's more of a warehouse setting and not your typical street window shops. If you are looking for some nice Chinese antiques or high quality Chinese wooden furnitures, this is the place you don't want to miss.

Shirley Albert: The LITTLE TINY DOOR opens onto a warehouse of wonderful asian things. From tiny netzuke to huge paintings and sculptures, it is all here. The people are pleasant and helpful and the prices run the gambit. Call first to let them tell you how to get there. It is a hidden treasure. Shirley

A F: As per the previous suggestion call for the location. This place had some amazing and beautiful items. The owner and staff are very nice and knowledgeable. Had a great experience and will be back.

Kawaii Kittle: Really really expensive. A 'paper' lamp is over $100. Nice selections if you just want to window shop and then have a heartattack when they tell you the price.

Heather Wellington: Really cool place with amazing Chinese antiques. A must-visit if you're looking for a rare piece.

Bright World Arts: Fantastic furniture, very helpful people......high quality

Camille Ng: Lots of antique Chinese furniture and arts

Rasmus Auctions: what do users think?

Minda Merinsky: The actual rasmus people are always incredible rude and disorganized. Not the independent sellers, but the rasmus people with the polos on. Frequently, I have gone to pick up items and they can’t locate them and they’re like we’ll just refund you. They’re not sorry and don’t acknowledge that you’ve driven a great distance to pick up said items. Even other sellers who go through rasmus have a terrible time with the company.
Response: Good Afternoon Minda, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. we are certainly disappointed that we have not achieved our goal of being well prepared, efficient, and courteous. I see you have participated in over 20 auctions this past year. your most recent event of one of our super sellers in Springfield. Thank you so much for your business. I don't see where we issued you refunds for missing items, but accept that we failed to give you great customer service. My team and I will be having a meeting with this super seller and our entire team tomorrow to see where we failed, and, redouble our efforts to provide an excellent experience. I'm hoping that you will allow us to learn from your review and demonstrate our commitment. We are aware that the space limitations for this Springfield VA super seller make it more difficult to achieve our goal of grab-and-go. We are actively working on resolving the issue. Please know we care deeply, are embarrassed, but undeterred, and will use your review to sharpen our skills. Thank you again for the reply. Chris Rasmus, CEO Rasmus Auctions

Synovia Wingate: Service was really good for pickup in Springfield, VA. My only issue was the leather sofa and recliner was advertised and showed on the box it had a massage feature, they did NOT. Neither of the two pieces. I was disappointed, but the furniture assembled very easily and overall am happy with my purchase. Yes, I will definitely continue to look and buy from Rasmus Auctions.

Richard Miranda: I’ve been a bidder for several years now and I have no complaints just accolades. Rasmus operates and handles their transactions smoothly and professional. I have all my friends bidding with Rasmus auctions as well, they all tell me the same. Kudos to you Rasmus!!
Response: Richard, thank you! We appreciate the positive feedback! I will share your review with the team!

Gone Flying: Fantastic experience! Was one of the best run auctions I have ever experienced. Pickup was amazing...everything was already together....labeled.....and ready to go. Just based on the pickup alone, Rasmus far exceeded my expectations!
Response: Wow, thank you for the flattering review, I am going to show this to our team today. It's wonderful to see our passion for customer satisfaction pay off!

Matt Brady: Great quality auction, items were as described and pickup was painless. The only thing I am not fond of is the terrible stickers they used on all of the items. I bought about 20 things and it took me quite literally an hour to clean all of the lot number/branding stickers off of the items because the quality of the labels was so bad that it was literally impossible to not tear the stickers, and afterward they left an insidious glue behind that is difficult to remove as well.
Response: Hi matt, thanks for the review! When taking the stickers off, try dabbing them with a little water, they should come right off!

Rick Khosla: Great platform to buy excessive equipments, furniture and many more goodies for your food establishment or home from Rasmus. They are team of professionals and I like the effort team has taken to bring the website engine to today state. Keep it up.
Response: Thank you for the great review Rick! We appreciate the recognition of the website!

Nick santmier: I generally have great success with rasmus however my last purchase I got the shaft a little bit. Rasmus generally does a good description of the items however I purchased a vehicle through them this past week And the vehicle while running hemorrhage oil to the point the motor is unsalable. There was zero mention of this issue when purchasing. generally rasmus will mission or engine has any noticeable issues. But this one was listed as nothing. So I am now stuck with a large paperweight and a loss of money. again generally I have all my good things to say about rasmus as I shop through the auctions A good bit. But I was shot in the foot on this one
Response: Good afteroon Nick. Thank you for the heads up. we are checking into this item with the team and the seller. We will be reaching back to you shortly. **** Hi Nick, I took a deep dive into this issue after reading your review. Our onsite staff started this vehicle, observed it running, drove it 25ft in each direction then described the vehicle appropriately. There is also a video of the van running on the bidding page. We did not notice any oil leakage. Rasmus (and our terms) state that buyers should never drive a vehicle off the auction premises and in turn cannot accept fault for vehicle malfunctions after the fact. If in fact you had this vehicle towed off the premises and observed these malfunctions once it landed at your location, please feel free to respond in an email and I will get back to you within 30 minutes, thank you! Erikrasmus@rasmus.com

Paul Heaton: Their website isn’t very mobile friendly. Also, they STARTED closing items at the designated time, allowing many items to still receive bids after the posted closing time. Very unfair to those who stopped looking after the closing time.
Response: Hi Paul, thanks for leaving us a review! All of our auctions have staggered closing. This part of the process is mentioned quite a few times before signing up and participating in one of our online events. We’re constantly updating our website to include the best UI experience we can provide. We have worked very hard to get our website to where It is today to be as mobile friendly as possible. I will certainly share your feedback with our team.

Hass Ba: Pam is excellent. They are very helpful and very professional. I enjoy worked doing business with them. Thank you Rasmus you guys certainly go out of your way
Response: Hello Hass! Thank you so much for the positive review and 5 stars, we really take that to heart. I will let Peggy know of the kind words, thanks again!

R C: Won an auction for a few empty metal barrels that no one else bid on, paid and scheduled pickup but ended up having to take my child to the hospital during the scheduled pickup time. I emailed them before to try and reschedule or at least tell them I couldn’t make it but they never responded, kept my money, and banned my account for not picking them up.
Response: Hello RC, Rasmus promptly replies to every commutation that we receive, I’m disturbed to hear this. May I know what email you tried? Some emails have a no response feature. Our chat bar is always the best way to contact us Monday through Friday. As far as the account ban, this is an automatic feature. If it sees a buyer had not picked up, it suspends the account. Please feel free to reach out to me directly 571-237-5875 Erik Rasmus

Mark's Estate & Salvage Auctions: what do users think?

Frederic Oder: Very organized on-line auction with lightning-fast invoicing and shipping. Perfect packaging. And he answered email! This was just a small purchase and we were treated as if it were a huge purchase. Thanks so much and we will be watching for your auctions. Judith Oder
Response: i'm glad you like your item(s) , we hope you follow our company on Estatesales.org and place future bids

Cody Gregory: I would recommend Mark to anyone with estate and salvage auction needs. He went above and beyond to ensure our experience was positive. He is very knowledgeable and handled our transaction with the upmost professionalism. He was very hands on in helping us pickup a vehicle we purchased over 3 states away. He made sure everything was taken care of and on time. He also checked in afterwards to make sure we got back home with the vehicle. Please consider him for your estate and salvage needs! -Cody Gregory Dayton Ohio
Response: Thank You Cody, i enjoyed working with you with this entire ordeal with the car, and i hope to get to hang out with you one day when the car is done .

Jan Wallen: It was a pleasure to work with Mark and Bert. They were easy to work with, prompt, reliable and professional. They looked things over and selected things that would be good for an auction and also an on-location sale. They made it easy to prepare, took care of everything both for the on-location sale and the auction, and promptly made the payments. They were patient and friendly in a situation that had a short timeframe. I definitely recommend working with Mark.
Response: it was a pleasure working with you Jan , and i miss my 4 legged buddy

Allison Williams: We had the most AMAZING experience shopping at an estate sale coordinated by Mark's Estate and Salvage Auctions! Mark and Bert are just the sweetest and most friendly people I have had the pleasure of doing business with! They are down to earth and made us feel very comfortable as we shopped. We found the most awesome piano, swing bench for the backyard, out door rocking chair made from amish wood, foyer table and a few other smaller good quality items. The quality of the piano was even commented on by the piano movers: "That's a GOOD piano!" And then I have received so many compliments on the foyer table. Mark was very reasonable with pricing and I feel that the good we purchased will last a lifetime! These items are VERY different from some of the IKEA furniture that we have- these items were actually meant to LAST!! I will be looking to Mark's Estate and Salvage AUctions for more gems and treasures!!! Mark and Bert work EXTREMELY hard to make sure their events are well organized, well stocked and running smoothly!! I know they offer other services like wrap and pack as well and I would recommend them for any type of job like this!! Thank you Mark and Bert for the very nice items and for being such a genuinely nice people with GREAT hearts!
Response: it was a pleasure chatting with you + doing business with you as well , i can't wait for you to have the chance to shop with us again in the future with our on site events or online auctions , Happy Holidays to you

Deborah Murphy: When I met Mark & Bert I was impressed with them and reviews that I read. Now over a year later I find out that since they could not sell my consignment items; they donated them rather than returning them back to me. I know the pandemic has caused problems for everything. I understand that. I was told that I would receive a detailed list of items they picked up; but, that never happened- even after making several requests. Now I am told that they 'finished that record book and threw it away.' They never contacted me to let me know that they did not sell anything; nor, did they inform me that they 'donated' my items. My contract specifically states that 'Consignment merchandise shall remain the property of (me) until sold.' It does not say anything about donating or disposal of my items. READ your contracts carefully before signing anything. They claim they have done updates to their contract. Those updates do not apply to my contract.

Diana Reardon: If I could, I would give zero stars to this charlatan. As executor of an estate, I signed a legally binding agreement with Mark’s Estate & Salvage to consign a documented inventory of items. Once the items were in his possession, he became vague and cagey about what items had actually sold. When pressed, he did state that some books had sold, but that he could not send a commission check immediately because he had bills to pay, despite agreeing that he owed us the funds. We finally received a small check, but never received an account detailing what was sold. After many months, we asked for a status update of the remaining items and all we received was a text message stating that they had been donated as they did not sell. Please beware when dealing with this individual.
Response: it states in the contract if items don't sell within 3 rounds they are to be donated and you signed off on that when you did the contract , we have not had any flea markets sense early March before everything was shut down , i am sorry for your items that did not sell, people either did not like the items or they did not have money to spend if they where not working or able to have a stimulus check

S Greiner: This past year has been a challenge cleaning out my wife's uncle's house after his passing, especially having to make multiple trips from Colorado to get his "hoard" cleaned out. The uncle had some interesting and odd collections of multiple pieces, many of which were still new and unused. We had contacted other auction/salvage companies, but most just wanted high-end items and were not interested in the collectables. In fact, more than one company wanted Us to pay Them to haul everything away as junk. Fortunately I found Mark's Estate & Salvage Auctions, who gladly took the collectibles, and through their diligence and hard work have been able to sell the items for a surprisingly amount of money. We knew these collections had good value, and Mark and Bert were able to prove that. Thank you Mark and Bert for all your help in getting the house cleaned out and for getting us the best possible value for the uncle's items. It's been a pleasure working with you and I highly recommend Mark's Estate & Salvage Auctions for your clean-out needs.
Response: Thank You Steve for contacting us back in early Spring about this project, Bert and i have enjoyed working with you in stages around your schedule of your 4 trips you made , and we look forward to selling the Christmas items later this Fall/early Winter .

Violet Broomfield: Mark Hoffman is the quintessential estate and salvage entrepreneur, with a colorful and engaging personality. Working with Mark was a delightful experience and far exceeded my expectations. He was prompt, professional, and very personable; not to mention patient with my vacillating schedule. Our association came quite by accident. i recently downsized my storage unit and was Googling to find a company that would assist with liquidating its contents. i had three generations of "stuff". Some of it was too good just to trash - a flea market trove - but it had to go. Also, i needed to move it quickly without spending any money. Mark's Estate & Salvage was willing to take everything for just what he eventually could auction; this was music to my ears. To top it off, when he finished, the storage unit was spotless. vbb
Response: i enjoyed our chat we had & working for you last month , i norm. don't do rush jobs but i made it work within the 2 week time frame you gave me . hope to be able to help you out again in future

Bill Yankowy: Went to an estate sale that they were running and it was a wonderful experience. Everything was set up nicely and the prices were very affordable. Would highly recommend anybody that wants to sell stuff to call up Mark's Estate.
Response: Thank You Bill for coming to our estate sale, hope to see you at many more in the future

Nancy Collins: Mark and his partner efficiently helped clear out part of an apartment’s furnishings. They were both friendly and efficient,,,great lifting abilities.. I would recommend highly Mark’s Estate and Salvage Auctions. Fast, friendly service! Nancy Collins Burtonsville, Md.
Response: it was a pleasure working with you with your project you had . please spread the word out

Oakridge Auction Gallery: what do users think?

Neena Winn: We have used Oakridge Auction Gallery to sell numerous items. Keith Spurgeon has always been fair and honest in giving auction estimates. We appreciate that once he has provided an estimate for an item there is no pressure for us to consign if we decide we don't want to sell. He has provided much information about some items we knew little about. Highly recommend Oakridge Auction Gallery.

pete nguyen: Beware!!! Oakridge Auction is unethical with the lack of details and disclosures of item condition in lot descriptions and in custom condition report requests. When Oakridge was informed of the issue and was provided with supporting photos and documents they immediately reference their policy that buyer purchase at their own risk even though they acknowledge that the condition report was made in error. They eventually refunded a portion of the overall total cost but I am left a few hundred dollars short due to their error. Do not trust this place!
Response: Mr. Nguyen, We understand your concern and apologize for your negative experience. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties. Oakridge Auction Gallery bears no responsibility for any error or omission. Mr. Nguyen reached out to us on November 3rd via phone and email on the issue. On November 4th, Mr. Nguyen emailed us the total costs of reimbursement. We agreed on the problem at hand and resolved the issue as quickly as possible. Mr. Nguyen was then reimbursed on November 4th. The uncovered costs were due to shipping, costs associated with the shipping and handling of an item are the responsibility of the purchaser. Oakridge Auction Gallery takes pride in providing the utmost quality of service, timely communication, and professionalism. We welcome and encourage insight into all customer experiences at Oakridge Auction Gallery.

Barbara Bracebridge: Keith has arrived promptly at the appointed time. He is very thorough in examining items and gives good estimates of what they might sell for. He emails descriptions of the items prior to the auction date. Then he emails verification of items sold. A check for the total amount is sent later. I am pleased with what he has been able to sell items for that my children do not want.

Rania Peet: Keith and everyone at Oakridge were absolutely wonderful. They did so much work for us and were able to auction off everything we had! 10/10

chuck cowperthwaite: BUYERS BEWARE. This auction house is horrible to deal with. They purposely hide and to not disclose damage to items. They offer mainly reproductions with totally made up and fabricated provenance to deceive buyers. They are crooks in sheep’s clothing trying to pretend to be a legitimate estate auction. I would recommend avoiding buying anything from these despicable individuals.

Dr. Anderson: This auction house is disreputable at best. I won a bid through Live Auctioneer. The bid was placed early and there were constant repeated warnings that the lot was about to close. The next day the auction house cancelled the sale with a ridiculous story that they failed to register the absentee bidder and the lot must be awarded there. I have bought hundreds of items from auctions around the world and have never encountered such disrepute or sly business practice. BUYER BEWARE
Response: In the event of a clerking discrepancy for a floor, online, telephone, or absentee bidder it is up to the discretion of the auctioneer to decide who wins the lot. We understand the inconvenience and are working diligently to always improve to minimize errors during auction day

george rosenkoetter: Went through the auction house's vetting process the day before an auction. Dissimilar to to any other I have participated in (around 20) . . . more circuitous. The next day I bid on a print that I wanted. My maximum bid was more than the price for which the item sold. I called the following Monday to pay and arrange shipping only to find that I did not win . . and was not even recorded as having been approved. despite my excellent credit. UNACCEPTABLE !!!!!

JJ Antique: This auction house has two bosses with Chinese background. They are not really care your items. They brought some thing from mainland China or Hongkong and then auction here. So auction is well their control and management. You send anything, they figure out a number to play. You feel be foolish.
Response: Dear JJ Antiques, We welcome and encourage insight into all customer experiences at Oakridge Auction Gallery. However, after an extensive search of our system, we have no record of any business interactions with you. We pride ourselves on the high level of professionalism we provide to buyers and sellers alike, and if you had a bad experience on either the consignment or bidding end, we would like to work with you to learn more about the matter and resolve any issues you may have had. Regarding our auctions, it has always been our strict company policy to abide by all laws governing the auction business, and we do not bring any items to market from China. If you would like to learn more about how the auction process works, or would like to get a free current auction estimate from our professional experts and staff please contact us at your convenience either by email at auction@oakridgeauctiongallery.com or by phone 9-5 Monday - Friday at 703-291-1010.

Shawn Smucker: Outstanding selection of items for auction. Variety of items ranging from jewelry, to artwork, to antique toys and all top quality. The staff is very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. Looking forward to the next auction.

Philosophical S: Oakridge is a professional outfit and is run a cut above surrounding competitors. I have been to others in the area and they seem disorganized. Oakridge is clean, upscale, and friendly.
