Sindea: Excellent service and people. I went in for a free item coupon. Felt kind of bad I wasn't purchasing anything, but the cashier was SO friendly. I saw him being super friendly to all the customers, chatting with them and making suggestions. Even though I wasn't buying anything, he still talked to me super friendly! A++ They also have the best prices!

Nicole Thompson: I’d never been in Harbor Freight before but I saw an advertisement and needed a few items that I saw were lower priced than Home Depot. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The gentleman at the register was very informative and made sure I got a free item that were offering.

Emily Shaw: I love this place--such a friendly neighborhood vibe. I get all my plants here, and this one guy who works there (sorry don't remember the name) is my plant guru. They will repot your plants for a small fee if you bring them in, which is so helpful when you live in an apartment. Also--their plants are so reasonably priced!! I bought a gorgeous 7-foot fiddle leaf fig on a whim because the price was literally a quarter of what you'd pay at [unnamed nearby plant shop]. Thank you for everything you do!!

Paul Durbin: If you want service and quick check out go to True Value on 17th. Completely different experience with knowledgeable staff ready for you at the door who will help you and then check you out right away. 100% of the true value staff knows their stuff. Here it’s mainly people who will just check you out and don’t know hardware. This place has equally good inventory and later hours, but it’s not a hardware store experience. And for what it’s worth this is an Ace Hardware, which advertises on Fox News, should you want to avoid supporting Fox.

Baba Harsh: This place is great, I understand it's a mom and pop shop but man the prices are super high. The people are somewhat helpful but got a lot of short answers. Ended up at Home Depot.

I love how they know where every item is specifically located - like really! Upon entry, you’re on main isle. To your left are short isles leading to registers. Staff always escort me through store or to elevator where I’m met by another team member on lower level. Ayesha, General Manager, allows items to be opened for me when possible so I can feel item. I especially love their text message lime where consumers can ask questions before visiting store. Great Team!

koura Gibson: Disappointed to be rudely treated for “walking into store” before opening. The door was wide opened and I entered only to be charged aggressively by the 3 attending employees, shouting for me to exit. I had to calm them down of their excitement to reprimand me for entering the store. There was no indication that the store was not opened. No hours were posted ether. Then the older guy rudely and aggressively closed the door as I exited. He then snarkly stated “I guess!” When informing him that 8:00 was in 14 minutes. It was really disappointing to have to endure such rudeness in the morning.

Nathan Deunk: Very convenient location, and they've really improved the store since they moved locations. Unfortunately, Fragers employees and contractors consistently endanger the residents of the surrounding community by illegally parking on both 11th SE and Pennsylvania SE. I can't support a store that cares so little for their neighbors, especially when those neighbors are their customers.

I went in seeking a screw that would fit a warped sleeve in a new piece of furniture, and Chris went above and beyond to help me fix my problem. He asked me to bring in my furniture, offered me a dolly to wheel it in from my car, and used some tools free of charge at the store to help get the screw properly threaded so I could finish building my furniture. It was so kind of him to offer his assistance, I likely would have had to exchange the furniture if I didn’t have his help. I have come to this location a few times and I have always been incredibly impressed by the service. Huge thank you to Chris!

Jessica C: I take my dog here twice a week while I browse their new plant selections. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I love that they shower my dog with attention. My dog loves it too. She always tries to drag me in for treats. They have a great plant selection. They change things up but you can usually find a good array of basics and less common plants. Could I save a little bit of cash by driving out to the deep burbs for the Home Despot or similar? Sure, but would I? Absolutely not. Icing on this cake: they always accept my Ace coupons, even if past their expiration date. Now that is ace in my book.

MAC Cover: I am rating Glover Park Ace location a 4 because the gentleman who assisted me was very nice in spite of this mean nasty new world we live in. Since we're in basement level, it can be challenging to step off the floor during certain times of the day when staffing is limited. 20TH Century Archivist: Disbelieve all positive reviews for the ACE Hardware in Glover Park. The staff there is rude, unhelpful, incompetent and pay absolutely no attention to customer safety. This explains why today was my last shopping trip to the ACE Hardware in Glover Park. I was walking through one of the aisles in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park and was looking at items on a shelf when I suddenly was tripped and fell to the floor: the staff left several thick and heavy sealed cardboard boxes scattered right on the floor. A store employee came to see what had happened and when she saw me rising from the floor she then promptly lost all interest. The employee "apologized" in an insincere manner and was offended when I criticized her and the store for leaving boxes scattered on the floor for customers to trip on, claiming that she was not the employee responsible. Although I haven't encountered scattered boxes previously in the in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park, the staff there does place too much merchandise in the aisles: they are totally incompetent and rude and cannot properly run the store. Placing heavy sealed cardboard boxes on the store floor for customers to trip on is absolutely the dumbest thing store employees can do: Washington, DC store employees can be among the worst, but I have never encountered such flagrant incompetence in a store in this city before today. The Yelp reviewers posting here leaving all of those five-star reviews probably have never shopped often in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park or spent much time in the store when shopping there. All of the Washington, DC area ACE Hardware stores are poorly staffed and managed, but the Glover Park location is the very worst and has been getting worse since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic: they are unable to deal with more customer demand. For your own safety and sanity, please avoid the ACE Hardware in Glover Park! You will find Lowe’s or the Home Depot to be a safer, saner, and more courteous environment!

Jeff Allen: Good people! Had a miscommunication amongst the employees in getting my new(used) compressor ready for me to take today. Now I have to go back tomorrow. But the guys that helped me today were great!! Hopefully the communication issues aren't part of every dealing with them.

Customer Service Sterling Hot Rods: Ms.Dawn and Derrick were awesome. The whole operation flows well and the compressor we rented (600CFM) was in better shape and of better quality than any place in the area. Not only that -- CONSIDERABLY cheaper. Washington Air has our business for the long haul.

Sassy Sauce: I missed all of the after Christmas saw items. This location had a few products left over from Christmas but nothing I really wanted. Overall the store was neat and organized. I didn’t need any additional items for this trip, just preparing for next years holiday decorations.

I really Appreciate the help from a young male staff who was working in the Garden/Mulch area, he was very Helpful and Knowledgeable with assisting me with the products along with a young female cashier on the inside of the store. Now you can never get the help you need when you’re in the store aisles. Every time you asked a staff member who’s in the same aisle as you. Can you help me with something? Their reply seems to be, I don’t work over here and they don’t know who can help you..!!! Home Depot needs better training for their staff who’s working in the store aisles..

Jeff Rueckgauer: Needed a red 10 cup Brita pitcher. App says there is 1 in stock. Not on the shelf. 4 associates said they couldn't help but would page someone for the aisle. 10 minutes is more than enough time for someone to at least arrive, even if they have to look further. This HD had been really good for many years. The pandemic is no excuse for just unhelpful people and plainly unconcerned, inept management.

Rickey Anderson: I went to the Rhode Island Avenue store it was good. What would made it excellent if their stock was current with the website. They didn't have it even though the computer said they did have it. The item was Sphagnum moss. Happy that I was able to find a few other items

Bailey Cage: Unfortunately this was the first time I’ve been to a Home Depot where the staff was completely unknowledgeable. I had spent hours online trying to research the best products / methods for tiling my second-story concrete subfloor with no definitive answers, so I decided to head to the store and find someone to help me. Normally Home Depot workers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but whoever they sent back to flooring to help me seemed to know nothing. He was able to show me where items were on the aisle, but he couldn’t answer a single question about how to tile my floor or what the differences and pros/cons in products were. It was incredibly frustrating and unhelpful, and I ended up leaving with a couple hundred dollars of products I later had to return. What truly upset me is that I did some more research once I got home just to find out the answer I was looking for is common knowledge in construction, but as someone doing a DIY project, I just didn’t know what terms I had to search for. For a Home Depot employee - the flooring specialist - to not know this is astounding.

I am trying to get a door, but the store is unresponsive, the management is inept and provides no additional assistance, the associates are extremely slow, unknowledgeable of the products. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this store. Please go to another Home Depot location.

Anna Lloyd: Desmond in the home and garden went out of his way to help us find something that 4 different employees had just shrugged their shoulders and said that even though it was available online they were probably out. Desmond knew exactly where it was and showed us himself, even though it was on the complete other side of the store. He really took customer service to the next level.

DAVID GILL: paint dept vert slow. When paint was done I was not told it was done. I came up to the counter and stood there waiting while emotes helped others. After 10 minutes he pointed at can. I said is that mine he looked at me like Duh.

Mark Blanchard: Called ahead of going there to make sure they have a product on the shelf. The person on the phone put me on hold to check, and a few minutes later came back to confirm they have plenty in stock. So I drove over to the store, and when I got there I couldn't find the product. I asked an associate to help me find the product, and he told me that they don't have any in stock (that was 8 minutes after I made my phone call). Nice people, but quite incompetent.

Randy Moulton: I'm a life long civil libertarian and refuse to wear a mask. I was told to leave if I wouldn't wear a mask and couldn't buy if I didn't comply. Rather than escalate, the manager offered to shop for me if I waited outside. He got what I wanted and brought the receipt and purchases outside and said he would meet me outside if I needed to return anything. A+ for service

Adam Stryker: I hesitate to recommend this store because then folks will know where I get all the unique things in my home. Also, my family and friends will know where I got some of their unique gifts. I don't want to give it all away. Stop in and see what I'm talking about. Their buyers are geniuses. It's like going back in time to the New York City of the past where private stores reigned. I love unique gifts you could only find in NYC before they turned it into a suburban shopping mall. TWINS ACE HARDWARE IS MORE THAN A HARDWARE STORE. IT'S EVERYTHING. ( I'm already regretting that I told you. Don't buy up all my favorites!)

Scott Eltringham: One of three great hardware stores in Arlington--Cherrydale and Bill's True Value are the other two--Twins is more modern feeling than the other two. It has the widest selection of goods of the three stores and a lot of fun, not-really-hardware stuff. They also cut keys well. The staff is always friendly and fairly knowledgeable. Parking can be difficult.

Steven: I drove out of my way to shop here since there was a super coupon on the ladder I wanted. The website showed it as in-stock at the store. I grabbed one and took it up to the front and was told I couldn't purchase it, because apparently I had grabbed the display (there wasn't anything to indicate it was a display model). There were no other ladders in stock at the store, because apparently they count the display model as being "in-stock". Why do you count the display model as stock if I can't buy it? Everyone I spoke to was very polite, but this was a complete waste of my time.

Marc Anthony: Great deals on tools and other stuff for homeowners. If you are a professional and use these tools every day you may want to buy name brands elsewhere.

Stacey W: I honestly didn't even get a chance to walk around the store because I was taken back by such poor service. First I drive there after seeing its hours on Google to find those hours changed for a week according to the sign on the door. The 2nd time I called before I went. Stood on line and then was told the system went down for a return. The 3rd time I called I was on hold, got disconnected and then called back to put on hold for 15 mins. I finally had my return processed but I honestly will not visit that location again.

Justin Small: Terrible customer service. Left me on hold for 15 minutes. Drove to the store still on hold walked in and they were doing nothing. They don’t have correct labels where their engine oil was so I bought some thinking it was going to be $15 as advertised and instead it was $27. Poorly run shop.

Aziz Siddiqi: Very bad services, they sell the equipment not telling the customer about it’s quality but while returning the same equipment after a week or 2, then they are asking you to bring our equipment with its box. Very ridiculous. Who is keeping the box of an equipment for a week or two after purchasing. When u purchased stuff with its box then u trash the box not keeping it for decoration of ur home. Shame on NAPA management for such services.

This place has horrible customer service. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Your best bet is anywhere than here.

Joseph Cowan: This place is sooooo sketchy. It's in a business park... next to the train tracks... which is a great place for the set of a horror movie. It's a postage stamp of a store. Most of their business must be done ordering online, because they have next to no inventory in this tiny place. All I needed was a can-o-air or fix-a-flat.... which they did have, so I guess I'll give them an extra star for that.

Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.

Stuart Miles-McLean: I don't like all the self check out lines which are killing jobs. They did have things I was looking for in the wild bird and critter section, but it appears they need more employees -- all over the store -- to keep the inventory organized and properly shelved and labeled. The employees I did encounter were very helpful and friendly; it just looked like they need more of them.

Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.

Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!

goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.

Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.

N R: Terrible customer service. Returning an item took 3 months of repeated calls to schedule a pickup and even when Lowe's had the item back multiple calls were needed to secure the refund. Such a hassle, so worth avoiding! The third party delivery service that they use doesn't turn up in the agreed time slots so it's very easy to miss them and then get stuck in the web of calls that are required to reschedule.

Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

Conchita Coney: Excellent but one of the employees didn't know what he was talking about whereas getting parts for a 2019 torro self-repellent lawn mower. He told my husband and I to go to store name Grainger on MD 202 they are either closed or permanently shut down.

Elizabeth Ramming: Assistance was top notch!! The gentlemen working there were very polite and helped me a lot with specific questions. HOWEVER-- However, I needed lumber, a 1X6 piece. What they had in stock was WET. But oh! I found 2 dry pieces at the bottom. But alas, don't be happy for me. Those pieces were warped in both directions - both along the length and width. That's it. So, shut up and buy it, or fight DC traffic to go someplace else. Both of those options were the absolute WORST. Why was the wood wet amd warped?? ... Duhhh. How utterly stupid.

Ernesto Roubert: Great prices online and pick up at this store. Great customer service. Bill was very thorough and attentive to my orders. Appreciate that greatly.

Matthew Layton: Avoid at all costs! Despite clearly stating on their website that they install batteries purchased at their store (see screenshot), they absolutely do NOT provide this service. When I called ahead to check, the gentleman who answered the phone acted as though I was crazy. I have no idea how they stay in business if this is how they treat customers.

Dana Hummel: Very friendly staff and helpful in getting the right parts. Recommended.

David Evans: Go somewhere else. The guys in the shop are rude and condescending. I wanted to make a simple return of an item I had just purchased. I had my receipt, but they refused the return. He made me wait and was not communicative. This is an awful shop. Just go to Home Depot and buy what you need.

Marsden Bigby: I will never spend a dime at this location again. They sold substandard parts and their employee, an individual named "Jim" responded with attitude and contempt, then hung up on me when I called to ask about the warranty. You are better off at an Auto zone. Stay far away. Poor parts, worse service.

Stacy Hennessey: I simply wanted to buy a battery and give them the core. From the moment I walked in they spewed anti government garbage about how batteries aren't made in the US and then proceeded to try and sell me the highest price one...and wouldn't let me borrow a wrench to take out the core. It was shocking. I hope the person that dealt with me was the owner because he is certainly ruining the business.. Went down to Sears where they couldn't have been nicer....

Michael Gent: Go some place else. The three guys working the counter yesterday could not have been any ruder if they tried. I walked in yesterday on a mission for a part. Three guys behind the counter, each one clearly engrossed in their computers. I stood there waiting for someone to look up or offer some help for several minutes, finally one asks "what you need?" After I tell him, he says, "it's over there". I head over to where he pointed and after no luck, I look back for some help and now he is on the phone talking to his girlfriend. The other two guys never look up from their computers....out the door I go, and head straight to Auto Zone, way more helpful, and even a little friendly too!

Aleman: If it's made in China, it's probably sold here. Well priced tools and equipment that gets the job done. I wish more Americans products were available at this place. But in crunch time, whenever you just need to fix things, you don't care where's made; you just need to find the right tool. Harbor Freight probably has what you need. The service, on the other hand, is always good.

Bryan Saylor: A great place to pick up low cost tools. Some items may not be the best quality, but these are easy to avoided by reading reviews on their web site. Everything I’ve purchased seems to operate as described. This location does tend to run out of stock on certain items, but that aside it’s my go-to place for tools.

Justinian Yi: Super friendly staff but due to the severe shipping issues going on since last year, the price advantage of this store’s products is no longer there. Now the same tools here cost more or less the same as Home Depot, Lowes, and Tractor Supply. But at least this store will have product in stock, unlike all the other corporations that are dishonest about their inventory.

Cory Laws: If you know what you want, you can save a lot. I'm a General Contractor and was introduced to Harbor Freight many years ago by a fellow contractor. He claimed that all tools don't need high precision. His example was a finish nailer. Instead of spending prime dollars for a Dewalt, he spent less than $30, and it lasted a few years. He then bought another. I agree. Just bought a rotary hammer drill for $109 instead of $299. I won't need it much, and it'll do great for a current project, plus removing tile from a concrete floor later. Happy camper.

Kaitlyn Malone: Had what I needed that I couldn’t find elsewhere. Staff can be hard to find or get help from, but overall products are good.

Andrew Percy: Called in after I had an issue with one of my purchases and the person who answered was unnecessarily rude. Not even upset with the outcome just with how I was talked to.

Bill Thompson: Love this store! It is very well stocked and while sometimes the employees are overwhelmed with the customer volume, they are always kind and helpful. Harbor Freight presents a great value and we're lucky to have the Sterling location.

Tom Snow: I absolutely love this place. I went in for one item and left with a basket of items. A great place to find things you need and things you dont but might need.

Ken Kaplan: Don't let the 3 star rating mislead you. I am still a Harbor Freight addict. Only one gripe. Don't show items available online only to be told in the store they haven't seen it in months please.

Tom Putty: Decent products, beyond tempting prices. Not everything here is a home run, so it pays to pay attention to what you're buying. For lower priced items that one is sure to be hard on, though ... definitely ranks a Smash from me!

Anthony Scott: My experience was painful to say the least! I want with a colleague of mine to get some keys made. The young lady could not get the machine to properly read the keys, so all four keys were cut incorrectly! We then asked about desk locks and she sent us to the pad lock area. Finally two gentlemen took us to the correct area (which was low on stock, of course!). This was not what I would expect from Home Depot! Very disappointed! Of course this store is on my banned list. I can't recommend a place with poor customer service to anyone who reads my reviews. If you do decide to venture here, don't expect the best of help! Look elsewhere!!!

The rep June patiently took her time to wipe down my ink blotched ID until it was visible and gave me some extra Clorox wipes to wipe down my purse. Extra mile. Rich B: Well stocked. Great attendants. Order pickup was confusing and didn't work from the car but easy to get from the desk directly at the entrance. Ignore the signs and exit the same way you entered since pickup parking is at the entrance.

Elian Hauling: TIFFANY AT THE OXON HILL, MARYLAND LOCATION SHOULD NOT SERVICE CUSTOMERS IF SHE DOES NOT LIKE TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS. I came into the HomeDepot wanting to purchase a tool but noticed that no one was around to help with removing the tool and also the orange apron associates were busy with customers. I decided to go to “CUSTOMER SERVICE” to see if anyone can help me with taking the tool out of the cage. Once I walked over to customer service I politely asked an associate if there was anyone that can help with taking a tool out? She then asked me in what aisle was the tool in? While I was going to look and see what isle, there was another associate named TIFFANY who was next to the associate who I spoke with TIFFANY SAID THAT I PASSED 5 ORANGE APRONS BEFORE COMING TO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHY COULDN’T I ASK ONE OF THE OTHER PEOPLE WITH APRONS. I mentioned that I came to customer service because that is the purpose of customer service, to service the customer. I left and serviced myself in trying to find someone who can actually help me. TIFFANY SHOULD NOT BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE IF SHE IS NOT WILLING TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Tony Johnson: The check out lines are a tad perplexing. No designated demarcation only an arbitrary queue forming on the right so potential confusion is created but relatively easily resolved. Aka. They use a lot of self checkout.

c d: Their system doesn't ask enough questions for variants on your vehicle parts you're trying to get, I've bought several parts here in the past and you have a high chance of recieving the wrong parts, so unless the particular part you shopping for has no variants you will likely get the wrong parts. The parts are good quality just need to make sure you get the right parts.

Can't speak 4all the locations, but it was a real pleasure doing business with this one.

Queen Jam & King Jerry Wright: Buyers Beware!! My husband & I live in the area. On several occasions we have placed orders online for in-store pick up. When you call in to verify they have the part the process seems smooth enough. Don't go into the store to actually get it!! After looking through their limited stock & wasting your time they come back to tell you to drive to their other store in Clinton. I have no clue why this place is still standing with the poor customer service, limited supplies, dusty inventory, & lack of appeal in general. I will never spend my hard earned money here or waste my time ever again!!
